my little pony: fim x Hive Mind
so there was a post that said to smash together your first au and your current one and I have done that. It apparently caught my motivation by the throat.
#mlp x hive mind tbh#ummm#honestly adore#this can go two ways#we can shove the ponies into a hive!au#and make twilight a telepath##Luna was distanced for a long hecking time#and Celestia is a Claire like figure who is very dutiful#Shining armor is Candace’s strike leader#and also her husband#Pinkie is twilights whatever Megan is#i forgot the name#general manager?#and also therapist because pinkie has amazing coping mechanisms#fluttershy and rarity are part of liaison#rarity is the public communication and such#fluttershy is making stories because she’s really good at that#see: fluttershys horror games#Applejack and Rainbow Dash are strike team#Stuff happens#something something starlight starts an anti lottery cult at the seafarm#they send starlight through lottery#she gets assigned to twilights whatever Lucas’s teams name is
ok so Rarity grew up with level 30ish fashion designer parents. She’s their 1st child and was expecting to come out a fashion designer herself. Her sister is Sweetie Belle (just Belle, it’s a human au) she isn’t AS parentified in this au because of teen level so. Her parents do send Belle up to spend time with her because they hope that Belle will pick up some ‘level one talent’ from Rarity.
Fluttershy was besties with Rainbow Dash (they’re Flutter and Dash, Flutter is regarded as a weird name). She loves working with animals and expected to be assigned to work with them. Her parents are low-level workers but her father has a passion for cloudgazing and used to take her and Zephr outside to do so. Flutter got scared into shutting up about it after the first time she talked about it in class. She now freezes in fear whenever it’s mentioned, not because she’s scared of the outside but because she’s scared of what people will say to her. She had a pretty sucky time in teen level and used to daydream, making stories up in her head. Especially during days where she was too anxious to leave her room.
Dash is an only child of her family, who are level 16ish athletes. She wanted to be on a track team and is incredibly lithe and agile. She’s mentoring one of her younger cousins (Scootaloo, Lou in this universe)
Applejack (AJ) is part of a family of outside workers and economists that regularly work Outside. She’s a middle child with a head of business and a very strong work ethic. She’s also just very strong. I might make her and Dash lesbians for each other idk. Her older brother (Mack) is an outside worker and her younger sister (Blossom) look to her for advice.
Twilight. Ok so her family is law enforcement. Level 20 all that stuff. Her older brother (I can’t figure out what to call him, frick it we’re calling him Steve) is a telepath strike team leader and dating Cadance. Cadance loves little kids so used to take care to Twilight when she was younger but telepaths aren’t allowed to read the minds of any kids before they’ve gone through lottery. The hive used to let all kids visit telepaths but when telepaths rates suddenly dropped among those children they realized something was wrong. Twilight wanted to be a researcher, she still researches things because no one can stop her. This leads to… situations.
Pinkie Pie is a honor baby. She was the last of 4, her older siblings all going off to be top ten member of the hive. (Maud is a reset specialist. Maud gets lots of time off. Maud goes outside and looks at rocks in her free time. Maud is adorable. Lime is a professional trainer/tough love therapist she screams people into loving themselves. Marble is a researcher). She loves baking and making people happy. So when her jobs was to make people happy and make sure everything ran smoothly she knew she could do it. Pinkie might be a borderline telepath. Pinkie might’ve already known she was a borderline telepath. Pinkie has told no one because she figured out how this works.
Spike is Twilights younger brother, by the time he was born she was two years away from teen level. He really wants to be her assistant. He does not understand what she does.
cadence and Steve are married. Cadence and Steve have a child. Their child is Flur (Flurry Heart). Flur is one, Flur is absolutely a telepath.
Chrysalis is from a different hive, Chrysalis hates it there, Chrysalis is really good at makeup. Chrysalis pretends to be Cadence to see how this hive treats its Telepaths, Chrysalis isn’t that good at pretending to be someone she’s never met. Chrysalis gets caught, this is fine because Chrysalis is a telepath and transfers to Hive Equestria. Literally no one but Chrysalis is happy about this. Celestia is the oldest living telepath. This is bad because she’s in her 40s. Celestia cut off contact with her sister for 20 years after Luna began distancing. Celestia is constantly stressed
Luna is the second oldest living telepath. Luna is in her late 30s. Luna had a really bad like 20 years of her life where she just decided that killing Celestia was her life’s goal because nothing else mattered in her stupid life. This was a very hard time for Hive Equestria.
Starlight Glimmer (Arlie) started a cult. Arlie was like 17 when she started the cult, Arlie had lost her best friend to the lottery a year earlier. Arlie and Trixie (who’s name is not Trixie but who goes by Trixie anyway) live on the sea farm and decided that lottery was the root of all evils (Trixie was scared it would assign her to a low level since she felt useless). Their cult does Weird Cult Activities, a telepath unit is sent to check it out. Twilight realizes this is Literal Children and just… convinces them to go through lottery anyway? Trixie gets to be on Liason. Arlie is part of the tactical team because she actually did Run A Cult Very Good thank you. She’s imprinted for tactical commander and is definitely going to run Twilights. These three may or may not become a polycule of lesbians.
Hive Equestria is a genetics hive btw but they more mess with animal genetics rather than human. Anyway wayyy back before anything some genetics stuff happened and so Hive Equestria people aren’t… entirely human anymore. There’s three categories: pegasi: these people have feathers, they usually can’t fly but the feather amounts can range from tiny wings to scatterings around the neck. Earth: they’re human, but… something is off. They’re the only ones encouraged to trade hives. Everyone can of course… they’re just made aware that they aren’t exactly going to be treated normally out there. Unicorns: they have horns. What type, all types. It gets unwieldy but they’re also the most likely to be telepaths/borderlines
they didn’t have enough telepaths to keep any rise up. They never have. So instead telepaths are deified to the point where crossing them is religious sacrelige. Crime rates are very reduced, especially because being friendly is part of their culture to like an extreme. It’s very common after lottery to get a tattoo that signifies your role somewhere visible (usually the cheek) each one is personalized. Kids spend a lot of time in school daydreaming about their ‘cutie marks’.
I can’t think of any other characters that are immensely important but if you give me motivation in forms of reblogs and such I might draw a few of them and/or figure out a story.
#hive mind#hive future#janet edwards#hive future crossover#my little pony#my little pony gen 4#Hive Equestria#Hive Equestria au#twilight sparkle#all the other ones#Can you tell I’m projecting on fluttershy#Can you tell which character is my favorite?

Who is.....Paige Guthrie | Husk? - A Reading Guide
Paige Guthrie is an X-Men affiliated mutant from Marvel comics first introduced in 1984. Paige is the younger sister of Sam Guthrie (Cannonball of the New Mutants), and the oldest daughter of the Guthrie family. Paige is known for her passion and drive, as well as for her intellect. Husk has the mutant ability to shed her outer layer of skin and reveal a new state or shape underneath. Her power can cause random changes if she activates it without thinking, but by concentrating on specific chemical or elemental formulas, she can control the nature of her transformation. These shifts in state can leave her vulnerable to mood swings and blackouts, requiring her to be careful when she uses her powers. Despite her character being best known among fans for her relationships with Jono Starsmore (Chamber) and Warren Worthington III (Angel/Archangel) - Paige is a smart, strong, and kind character worthy of focus in her own right. (She's also amazing Appalachian representation in comics <3).
Below you can find a mostly complete record of Paige's appearances through February 2023 complete with totally legal links ;)! I've included context for crossover events and major storylines in the hopes of making this reading list as accessible to new readers as possible!
Beginnings
First Appearances: within these two issues, we get our first introduction to Paige, and the family dynamic she exists in. (While Paige is only present in passing in New Mutants #42, that issue offers an in depth look into the Guthrie family dynamics of the oldest siblings, even if Paige is noticeably absent from this conversation.)
Rom Annual (1979) #3 New Mutants (1983) #42
Child's Play (and its aftermath): In this crossover event, the Upstarts continue their series of games to prove their power and worth to one another. This time, they devise "the Younghunt", a mission to capture all of the surviving members of the New Mutants (some of whom are now members of X-Force) and the Hellions. Paige had secretly followed X-Force, and ends up saving the day with her intellect. The event ends with New Warriors #46, and Paige's appearances afterwards tackle the aftermath of the event, with Cable trying to talk to Paige about her future and her training.
X-Force (1991) #32-33 New Warriors (1990) #46 X-Force (1991) #34-36
Phalanx Covenant: Mutant hating humans that have gained access to Warlock's techno-organic Phalanx virus use it to turn themselves into techno-organic beings. With these powers, the Phalanx are able to change their shape and assimilate organic matter. As a hive-mind they are programmed to exterminate all mutant life. This event sets up Generation X (which is Paige heavy!). The first three issues listed below are the only ones technically part of the Phalanx Covenant event, but some more issues have been included to add a bit more context before the Generation X section :)
X-Men (1991) #36 Uncanny X-Men (1981) #317 X-Men (1991) #37 Uncanny X-Men (1981) #318 X-Force (1991) #42
Training with the X-Men
Generation X: A new team of mutants under the leadership of Sean Cassidy (Banshee) and Emma Frost (The White Queen) is formed at the Massachusetts campus of the Xavier Institute. The goal of this team is to earn an education and learn how to become the next generation of X-Men- their focus is not to fight villains. Paige is featured heavily in this book and is one of the main team members!
Generation X (1994) #1-9, Annual #1, 10-21, Annual #2, 22-23, Annual #3, 24-40, 1/2, 41 X-Men Unlimited (1993) #20 Generation X (1994) 42-49, Annual #4 Generation X Holiday Special Generation X (1994) #50 X-Man(1995) #50 Generation X (1994) #51 X-Force (1991) #87 Generation X (1994) #52-56 Wolverine (1988) #141 Generation X (1994) #57-58, Annual #5, 59-75
Post-Graduation
Uncanny X-Men: Generation X ends with #75 and from there Paige's next appearances are found within the pages of Uncanny X-Men. In this arc, we see Paige recruited by Sean Cassidy (Banshee) onto the paramilitary team, X-Corps (this plotline is certainly a choice made by Marvel comics). While X-Corps was not a long lived team, and the arc mostly happens in Uncanny X-Men #403-406, the rest of the Uncanny X-Men and related/chronological plotlines are listed here as well - this leads directly into M-Day.
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #403-426 Exiles (2001) #28-30 Uncanny X-Men (1981) #427-441 Weapon X (2002) #15, 18
House of M/M-Day: After altering reality so mutants were the dominant race, the Scarlet Witch then changed reality again, this time attempting to rid the world of the mutant gene, by casting another spell, "No More Mutants", de-powering the vast majority of mutants.
Excalibur (2004) #11-13 X-Men (1991) #165 Decimation: House of M - The Day After
Sentinels: The Sentinels were artificially intelligent robots designed to hunt mutantkind. Although a prototype was developed in San Francisco in 1906, the modern Sentinels were first created by Dr. Bolivar Trask. His intention was to use them to save humanity from what he saw as an impending threat to the species' existence due to the increasing numbers of emerging mutants. Sentinels have long been one of the largest threats to mutantkind in X-comics and at this point in comics are one of the greatest threats to them from the government. Especially when so many mutants have been depowered as the result of M-Day/Decimation. This section also touches on Divided We Stand, a synopsis is linked here for ease of understanding.
Uncanny X-Men (1981) #469-472 New X-Men (2004) #24-32 X-Men: Divided We Stand (2008) #1
Secret Invasion: TW: THIS EVENT IS TIED PRETTY HEAVILY INTO ANTISEMITIC TROPES PROCEED WITH CAUTION The premise of Secret Invasion is that the Skrull empire, in a bid to take control of earth, replaces several super-powered humans/humanoids on earth with Skrulls.
Secret Invasion X-Men (2008) #2-4
Utopia: Within the Utopia event (connected to the Utopia base that used to be Asteroid M), Scott Summers (Cyclops) instructs Logan Howlett (Wolverine) to create a new secret X-Force team to act as something like a black-ops squad. Meanwhile, Norman Osborne (of Spider-Man, Green Goblin fame) had promised Emma Frost (White Queen) that he would spare the mutant society in San Francisco if she kept them in line. This event is heralded by secret-keeping with a backdrop of anti-mutant legislation being passed in many US states due to Simon Trask's (Bolivar Trask's, creator of the Sentinels, brother) push for a lack of reproductive freedom for mutants.
Dark Avengers (2009) #8 Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus (2009)
Necrosha and Second Coming: Necrosha is a crossover event that deals with mutants being resurrected for the dark purposes of Selene Gallio (an old enemy of the X-Men, first appearing in New Mutants (1983) #9) who intends to use these resurrected mutants in her quest to become a goddess. Second Coming is a storyline that builds on the Utopia and Necrosha storylines. The story centers on the return of Cable and Hope Summers, and on attempts to end the X-Men through the destruction of the Mutant Messiah, the aptly named Hope Summers.
X-Force (2008) #22 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #231-233 New Mutants (2009) #14 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #237
Curse of the Mutants: In what can only be described as the "oh shit we've run out of ideas" last resort of any creative company putting out too many crossover events in a short period of time..... the X-Office put out Curse of the Mutants. The arc centers on a human bomb exploding in San Francisco's Union Square, covering dozens in vampire-converting blood. It then becomes the mission of the X-Men to track down Dracula's son Xarus, now "Lord of the Vampires", even if that means enlisting vampire-hunter Blade. Yeah.... I don't know either.
X-Men: Curse of the Mutants - X-Men vs. Vampires X-Men (2010) #5
Age of X: The mutants are almost extinct, tortured by a strike force led by Colonel Graydon Creed. The first signs of the Age of X appeared in X-Men: Legacy #244; the events were removed from the Earth-616 mainstream continuity, with no memories of the alternate lives. If you've taken a look at my David Haller Reading List you'll see this event explained as "David’s desire to be loved forces him to grapple with reality," and as a story that "places David in a role where he has to choose between a false universe where he is considered a beloved hero and reality where he must choose to be a hero despite the fear others feel about him." And while that is the base cause of the event, Age of X also has some absolutely INCREDIBLE moments for Paige (and her relationship with her brother Sam) to shine!
X-Men: Legacy (2008) #246 New Mutants (2009) #23 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #247 New Mutants (2009) #24-27
Regenesis: In the aftermath of Schism, the X-Men re-organize and face new challenges. Imo you don't necessarily have to read Schism to understand Regenesis, but it might be helpful if you want to grasp all the nuance.
X-Men: Regenesis (2011) #1 Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) #1-3 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #260.1 Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) #4-7 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #261-265 Astonishing X-Men (2004) #51
Avengers vs. X-Men: When the Phoenix Force approaches Earth, Hope Summers is assumed its next host. The X-Men and the Avengers are divided on how to handle the situation. The X-Men believe that the Phoenix Force will herald the rebirth of the Mutant Species, while the Avengers believe that it will bring an end to all life on Earth. This leads to a war between Marvel's two powerful superhero factions.
Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) #9 Avengers vs. X-Men (2012) #3 Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) #10 X-Men: Legacy (2008) #266-267 Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) #13-19, 30-41
What comes next?
While many of Paige's appearances take place in or connected to crossover events, there is a blissful period in the 2010s where this is not the case and the stakes aren't quite as high. The events pick up again in 2019 with Age of X-Man, but the following issues take place between Wolverine and the X-Men and the Age of X-Man event.
Nightcrawler (2014) #3-4 Uncanny X-Men (2013) #600 Generation X (2017) #8-9 Spider-Man/Deadpool (2016) #24-25 Generation X (2017) #85-87 Spider-Man/Deadpool (2016) #27-40
Age of X-Man: The name and premise derive from the 1995 storyline Age of Apocalypse, but instead focus on a utopian alternate universe led by the X-Man, Nate Grey. This is.... not the comic to read for Nate, but Paige is here!
Uncanny X-Men (2019) #1-10 (Paige is technically only in #9-10, but all ten issues are highly recommended as they're the lead-up to Age of X-Man!) Age of X-Man: Next Gen (2019) #1-2
House of X and Krakoa: House of X is the event that sets up the founding of the island nation of Krakoa as a safe haven for mutants. These comics also detail the Crucible, a way for de-powered mutants to die in combat and be resurrected with their powers once more.
House of X (2019) #3-5 X-Men (2019) #7 Fallen Angels (2019) #5-6 X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic (2021) #1, 3-4, 22, 24-25, 41 Legion of X (2022) #8
If you have any questions about Paige, or have a specific request on which of her siblings (Sam, Jay, Mel) I should do a reading list for next just let me know! My asks and DMs are open!

who had the most miserable life in archie?
I was gonna say King Max but most of that was caused by his own decisions. So instead, Charmy, who literally did nothing to deserve the hand he was dealt.
Born into royalty and ran away from his family because he didn't want to become the future king of the Golden Hive Colony and his father wouldn't listen.
Reunited with his childhood best friend, Mello, years later, only for Mello to die of an LSD overdose, and almost die of an overdose himself.
Eventually returns home to bury his friend and stays there with his fiancée, Saffron. Later the two are unknowingly threatened by Nack and Nic in order to force Chaos Knuckles to come with them and the two bees are subsequently dragged into that whole mess briefly.
Golden Hive eventually gets invaded by Dr. Eggman and turned into a factory, with Charmy and Saffron as the only known survivors. So Charmy had about a year of being reunited with his family (mom, dad, little sister), only for Dr. Eggman to presumably kill them.
Charmy is eventually captured along with the rest of Knothole Village and is singled out by Dr. Eggman, who taunts Charmy about the Colony and activates the Egg Grape he's trapped in. He's saved by Sonic but suffers from brain damage as a result of the Egg Grape, making him regress mentally and messing with his memories to the point that he didn't even remember he was once a prince of said Colony.
Charmy and the Chaotix eventually return to the Floating Island after their adventure to track down Mighty and Ray, only for us to never see his reaction to finding out that Saffron and Julie-Su have been banished by Thrash. Then the universe itself gets wiped out and reformed after the Mega Man crossover, completely erasing his history and leaving Post-SGW Charmy in his place.

Journeys in 2007
Y'all a friend of mine found some archived version of an old fanfic forum I was on in 2007 and I just need to share the entire EXPERIENCE that was re-reading fanfics I wrote at age 12.
I did not even have the internet at home until the year after, which means I was posting them from my school.
Come with me on this cringeful journey of Stargate Atlantis nerdism.
This response to a review: "thanx! ur mi 4th reviewer! u rok! i haven\'t red N E of urs, but i wil!" (seriously wtaf)
"we hat your guts"
"I never used to be a good person", she explained. (LMFAO??)
A scene with John spinning on a desk chair faster and faster while debating with Rodney and Radek whether the insane looking pink-afro super-powered terrible OC was attractive.
John getting shrunk by ancient tech, being sneezed on, washing the snot off in Ronon's glass of water, falling in tomato sauce, throwing crumbs at people.
In that same fic, trashing Weir's desk, running across Rodney's laptop keyboard writing swearwords while bored.
A spicy scene between Carson and the crazy OC character who had zero foundation of any kind of relationship or chemistry, but which was surprisingly one of the least cringe things my 12 year old brain came up with
Carson putting his hand over Rodney's mouth to shut him up and Rodney licking him - in the middle of a debriefing.
Going to a random planet in search of an unshrinking device for John, interrupting a wraith attack, helping an injured person lying in the road when a RANDOM man with crackhead NPC energy runs out of an alleyway, conks Carson on the head with a frypan, knocking him out and then runs off - and then the team including the smitten OC character leave unconscious Carson in the middle of the road to follow the sound of a crying baby????? WHAT ??? LOL???
"galleons of water"
Michael the wraith with mind reading abilities that can sense ancients for no explicable reason, and sensing that there's a romantic attachment between Carson and random OC. For no plot reasons whatsoever. It is never explained.
Pink hair OC then summonS GHOSTS TO FIGHT HIM? ?? ???
The ghosts kill him.
Then LUCIUS LAVIN APPEARS FROM BEHIND A TREE AND STARTS HITTING ON EVERYONE
There is no explanation for this - he is just there.
"I'm mentally linked to all nearby people with the ancient gene, so if I die, you all will die too." followed immediately by "SHOOT AT ME, ITS THE ONLY WAY" ????????????????????????????????what
This same character (pink haired OC) flying a puddle jumper directly up into the air, opening the hatch, backflipping out, landing on the roof of another puddle jumper and then remote detonating the original one in a kamikaze esque attack that somehow chain reactions into blowing up 5 hive ships.
Everyone fainting aLL THE TIME? Seriously I counted 5 people getting knocked out and at least a dozen faining from exhaustion / heat stroke / illness / etc. OVER FOUR FANFIC. JUST FOUR.
The worst part is that this is over 4 fics and is a REWRITE of the first ever fanfic I wrote. The original had an ABBA song for every chapter (I now cannot un-associate ABBA and Stargate Atlantis - thanks brain), the OC played the violin, could teleport, could turn into a horse sized hot pink space snow leopard that laid eggs, and also involved at some point a random series of inexplicable crossovers with Star Wars, Star Trek and Back To The Future. For no reason. Literally none.
I also wrote a couple of fic prompt / challenges which were kinda crazy
John wants to learn to surf and then Rodney gets captured by whales
Love triangle between Carson, Cadman and an OC.
Ancient device zaps everyone into being children and they have to travel the earth to meet up and figure out how to undo it.
I cry laughed tonight from this rediscovery. I have no idea what I was on at age 12 but apparently I thought it was a good time??
No wonder everyone thought I was weird LOL

WIP / Fic Idea Ask Game!
(please) Send me asks for any one of these WIPs / fic ideas I haven’t even started writing and I’ll explain more of what it is and write at least 3 sentences for it! The * means that I have written at least one word for it before making this post (that may have been in a discord conversation and nowhere else, or on a piece of notebook paper and nowhere else) (some of them are pretty old)
Portal Future AUs
*Stardancer: Betha meets and connects with Jarra, this leads to Drago finding Jarra and her meeting her family early
*Jarra time travel au: self-explanatory, set during 2781
Gemelle time travel au: Gemelle jumps through the portal with Jarra at her birth and refuses to let her out of her sight (so set in 2771)
Drago time travel au: set in 2781, Drago finds Jarra early due to foreknowledge
*Grandfather Riak au: Riak introduces himself properly at the Honor Ceremony, him and Jarra have a closer connection
Self insert/reading the books fic: In which I or some other fan got their descendants to pass down the Earth Girl trilogy and possibly other books through the generations in the hopes of affecting the plot
Hive Future AUs and WIPs
*Coercion: Keith makes Amber cut herself as his favor
*Chapter 5+1: technically part of Coercion and is a bunch of alternate ways to get to its ending (plus one way to get to Consequences)
*Consequences: Following directly from the +1, it’s the bad ending of Coercion where Amber dies
*Metacognition: my self-insert into Hive Mind, featuring lots of fourth wall breaking
*Amber time travel au: Amber time travels back to when she was three; doesn’t really have a plot yet
*Dancing Queen: Amber time travels back to when she was 17 (hence the title)
*Melisande alternate POV: canon compliant, basically Melisande reacting to the events of the series
*Amber whump au: Amber passes out after Tobias knocks her to the floor
Crossover AUs
*Amber/Jarra swap: Amber and Jarra swap brains at the worst possible moment (after Amber’s imprint removal and after Jarra’s memory reimplantation) and everyone has to work to get them back
that’s all please send asks!

Cryptoid Seeker SS courting Megatron by bringing him his enemies (injured from capture, not dead. Still fun to hunt).
I imagine seekers having a specific ritual for non-seeker mates. Maybe zooming around, doing general Arial feats, bring their mates the injured enemies as an offering (similar but dulled down version of the seeker to seeker wing offering)?
Btw, the zooming and offering thing is found in Falcons. That, or they bring them Shiney things. But eh.
I also feel like cybermorphs courting would be super stupid. Like a wasps. Like, sitting on the ground, staring right at their desired mate, making a very specific buzzing sound kind of stupid. That, or maybe something like a white pufferfish (who draws weird geometric patterns in the sand to attract a mate). Imagine both. Megs draws a circle thing, sits in the middle, and stares at SS. That'd be hilarious.
Maybe some hidden horror with some mantis like behaviors? But combined with some wasp behavior, resulting in a bite to the neck cables that numbs the mates senses, making them unaware enough not to hold back? That'd be fragged up.
Or even? Some hidden secret that only seekers get affected in a different way than most. Like, they end up with seeker eggs that hold the cybermorphs eggs inside? And when the eggs do the explody thing, the cybermorphs are the squishy inside, having already combined with the seekerling to make this super parasitic version that makes housing one 10x worse.
Sorry for the long rant. I love the cryptiods.
Do not ever apologize for going on long rants, they genuinely make my day so much better 💖 first of all I love everything you've put here, but BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!
I need to know more about the seekerling-cybermorph crossover. Tell me everything. Like the inside of the eggs, I wanna know every little detail about it. When you say the explodey thing, do you mean the cryptid seekerlings rupturing from their egg sacs early and seeking host in nearby fuel tanks? Cuz that's not always what happens with them, and is in fact an emergency defense mechanism to maximize survival chance. Usually they just carefully break free of their shells when their development is complete. So, tell me about these eggs, squishy cybermorph filling, I need to know! Gimme every. Single. Detail 👀 cuz like. All my mind is envisioning is like. A two layer egg, whetein the baby cybermorph is the center, kinda like the yolk, and an individual baby seekerling is in the outermembrane, and. Obviously that's not what's happening 😅 but super parasitic babies that are 10 times worse? I need to know!!
Also just, hear me out 👀 I love all these courtship ideas, but I'd like to pitch something to make it even funnier. Cybermorphs are very recent development on Cybertron in the grand scheme of things, and have only been around for a handful of generations (probably less than 5). Megatron is from the very first gen, so consider: even he doesn't entirely understand courtship. It's entirely instinctual and the logical part of him doesn't understand these weird urges. Like... what about this weird vibration/frequency he's giving off is attractive? The weird geometry, why is that considered attractive? He's a stranger to his own biology--the entire planet is, really--and secretly he's rather frustrated and embarrassed about it. He tries to match Starscream's energy, but what can he do for someone that can cross the entire planet in only a few megacycles? He can't just leave his hive and go gallavanting around just to impress the potential sire of his future children. Maybe he turns to tactics and battlefield prowess to impress him; it's a good thing too, because Starscream loves some good bloodshed 🤭
I'm also super down for the numbing bite. Cryptid seekers already spit venom, and the cybermorph biology is largely underdeveloped, so honestly either of them could. Maybe Starscream is venomous, Megatron is poisonous XD maybe he produces some kind of intoxicating pheromone that dulls the senses or hypnotizes, as a queen variant 🤔 or maybe it's a toxic, addictive aphrodisiac? Maybe he can produce multiple varieties! Something that releases inhibitions and makes his partner go hard, fast, and uncaring, with fertilization being the only important thing
Regardless. Terrifying parasitic Megatron and Starscream being fuck buddies that coparent? I love it

Don't look back (1)
AU Oceans 8 x AHS Coven crossover
Pairing: Cordelia Goode x Lou Miller, Lou Miller x Tammy
WC: 2.8k
Warnings: Drink spiking
A/N: Tammy and Lou are both canon age, while Cordelia is in her early 20s , and she's not a witch :))
The inside of the club was suffocating, hot with sweat and booze and bodies pressed together. The thrum of the music bled through the floor like thunder which Cordelia could feel deep inside her. She pressed firmly into her friends back and let herself be guided through the jostling crowd towards the bar. She was sure she’d not find her own way should she lose grip on Rebecca’s dress.
Once up and out of the crowd, Cordelia let herself turn around to watch them. How they writhed around each other like bees in a hive and people got lost in its swarm. She couldn’t hear Rebecca shouting something over the music to a man behind the bar.
She was sure that clubs weren’t usually this busy, even in New York. Back home, she would go out infrequently, and even then it would be to quiet bars that her mother had preapproved for her. Here, the air was thick and suffocating, and yet she could breathe clearly.
Rebecca shook her arm, pulling her out of her thoughts. She handed Cordelia a shot glass, which she tentatively sniffed at curiously. Unsure as to the glass’ content, she tipped her head back and let the liquid pool and burn at the back of her throat. She wanted to spit it out, to choke and ask for water. Perhaps New Orleans Cordelia would have, but she’d left that behind now and was determined to grow. Wincing, she swallowed, feeling the warmth slip down her throat like welcoming fire and land in the well of her stomach.
She hoped that the change would be as warm.
Cordelia was quick to feel her head becoming fuzzy, and Rebecca laughed, although it was swallowed by the beat of a new song. She pressed her mouth up against Delia’s ear to call her a lightweight, before throwing back another shot.
She watched as a man approached them and spoke to Rebecca, tall and dark and dressed way too smart for a club like this. She found herself looking down at her own dress, how tight it was against her body, how it showed too much of her pale skin which lit up against the flickering lights overhead. Becca had insisted that her own dresses were too modest, too floaty for a club, before pressing a tiny emerald minidress into her hands.
Now Cordelia just felt exposed. Like the eyes lit up by strobe lights in the dark room were all focused on her, predatory and waiting for her to let her guard down so they could pounce. She rose and asked the bar staff for a glass of water.
The next evening Rebecca wanted to return to the club again. Cordelia swore she could still feel the echo of the music pounding in her ears, but she agreed anyway. More comfortable in her own dress, they made their way the short distance to the club, arm in arm with Delia balancing freely on the edge of the sidewalk.
It was a Saturday night, so the club was even more busy than the night prior, and already inebriated people milled around on the side of the road next to the entrance. Some of the men whistled at them both as they passed, and Cordelia tightened her grip on Rebecca’s arm to steer her should she try to stop and chat to them.
Inside, the familiar feeling grew in the pit of Delia’s stomach with the pounding of the music. She wasn’t quite sure how people could frequent places like these. They made her feel queasy, all the senses being overwhelmed with excessive stimuli.
It was easier this time to get lost in the feeling, the haze of drunkenness and the flashing lights behind her closed eyelids. Dancing within the crowd with strangers, knowing no one. Cordelia preferred it this way. No one to remember how awkwardly you danced and bring it up in the future. Yes, she definitely preferred it this way.
After an hour or so, Cordelia leaned over to shout multiple times at Rebecca that she was going to the bathroom, but she doubted that she heard. The smartly dressed man from the night before was latched onto her neck with his mouth, hands wandering her dress in a way that made Delia roll her eyes. She assumed that he was the reason that her friend wanted to come back again.
Making her way through the crowd and over to the bathroom was easier this time round, and she was able to duck and push through the bodies to cut a line straight to the door. Inside it was quieter when the door shut behind her, and it was larger than what she’d expected for a club this size. Clean, but too bright in contrast to the darkness of the main room. It made her squint.
She took her time in there, not in a particular rush to get back and watch her friend get off with a stranger in front of her. At the sinks, she fixed her hair in the mirror, pulling fingers through its length to comb out knots as the door opened and the brief thud of the intrusive music filled the room again. She watched a woman with blonde hair and a leather jacket stride past her in the mirror and push open stall doors with a clatter.
Cordelia turned on the spot when a commotion bubbled up at the end of the row of cubicles, palms landing on the sink behind her for balance. The blonde woman dragged two girls out of the stall, voice low and angry as she shouted at them for doing drugs in her bathroom. The girls’ hair was dishevelled, and one of them pawed at her nose before clutching tightly onto their friends’ arm for support. They stumbled out of the bathroom giggling and swaying, and Cordelia watched them go, mouth agape in shock. She’d never seen people do any kind of drugs before.
The blonde shouted some warning about not coming back at their retreating forms, and Delia’s attention turned to her. After running her fingers deftly through her hair, and shaking her head with a scoff, the woman noticed Cordelia by the sinks, mouth catching in a sly smile.
She sauntered up to her confidently, and Delia couldn’t shake the blueness of her eyes cut into hers, or how her perfume caught in the back of her throat and made her unable to speak. The woman raised her hand, fingers tapping at Cordelia’s jaw to prompt her to shut it again, eyes still wide. She cocked her eyebrow.
"Be careful staring like that, people might get the wrong idea."
Cordelia started to respond, but all she could manage was a feeble squeak before the blonde was patting her shoulder, brushing past her again to exit the bathroom and leaving her alone. Back in the mirror, she noted how she’d flushed under the woman’s stare, and bent to splash her cheeks with cool tap water.
When she returned to their booth, Cordelia found it occupied, without Rebecca or the man she’d pulled. Spinning around, she scanned the room for the red of her friend’s dress, but she couldn’t see her at any tables, or at the bar, or in the hive of motion on the dance floor.
Fumbling in her bag, Cordelia found 3 new text messages on her phone from Becca. She rolled her eyes at her friend’s impatience to wait and tell her herself if she was moving tables or clubs. Checking over her shoulder, she clicked her pin onto the screen to read the messages:
Where are you?
We’re leaving, staying at Daniel’s tonight. Let yourself in, keys in normal place.
Text me when you get home, ok? x
Cordelia groaned, making her way over to lean at the bar. She wasn’t drunk by any means, but she still would rather avoid walking back to Rebecca’s apartment alone. They’d gotten a taxi the night before, but that was out of the question on her own. At least they’d been able to split the fare between them. “Urgh,” she rested her head in hot palms. She needed a job.
--
She wasn’t sure why, but when Monday rolled around and Rebecca went back to work, Cordelia found herself visiting the club again, alone. Under the safety of the lingering daylight, she walked the few blocks to the establishment and sunk into a window seat table at the café on the opposite side of the road. She watched the few people enter and leave the club as the sky turned pink above the skyline and the bright New York lights began to flicker on.
She hadn’t seen the woman in the leather jacket.
Finishing her coffee, Cordelia fisted her coat in nervous hands before pushing her way out of the shop and over the empty road. Now, the club seemed more like the bars she was used to back home, with the gentle music and lighting which you didn’t see again when you closed your eyes.
She noticed that the outer parts of the room had tables lined against the walls, and someone had hauled a couple of smaller tables down into the space where the masses had been swaying only a couple of nights prior. The setup and ambiance was completely different now, although it was still teeming with punters even on a Monday.
Someone knocked into her from behind, and she reeled forward uncertainly, hands grasping out for something that would halt her fall. They closed frantically around lithe arms which rounded to hold her waist still in protection. She spluttered out apologies as she raised her head to meet the woman’s eyes who had caught her.
The woman in the leather jacket.
“Careful,” the woman teased, smirk set on her face as she watched Cordelia fumble backwards and smooth her dress down with shaking hands.
They both watched each other for a moment, one with wide eyes and one that poked her tongue out between teeth to wet at her lips. Delia coughed and fiddled with the strap of her handbag, her palms hot from where she’d touched the woman’s leather jacket.
“Lou Miller,” she stated, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her jackets, not missing how Delia’s eyes followed the movement distractedly. Clearing her throat earned her back the attention of the younger woman who now seemed to be unable to meet her eyes.
“Cordelia, urm, Goode,” she stuttered out, before blushing pink with embarrassment and feeling the need to apologise, “sorry.”
Lou had kept her teasing smile on her lips, although didn’t say anything about Cordelia’s fawning. She was grateful about that. Her mother would have berated her for it, mumbling and stuttering at her age?
“Drink?” Lou offered, breaking Delia out of her thoughts and turning her body to gesture to the bar.
“Urm, no, sorry- I need to go,” Cordelia flustered, tripping over the step out of the dancing area as she moved backwards away from Lou. Turning quickly to make her escape, she almost ran to the exit. Not without remembering her manners at the last second, twisting to bleat out a thank you to the amused woman.
Then she was gone, hands in her hair and cursing herself for her awkwardness. Why had she done that?Rebecca doesn’t act that way around boys. She almost got herself run over in her distraction, car horn blaring and breaking her out of her trance.
Each day of the week she returned, under the shadow of telling Rebecca that she was looking for work. She was looking for work too, during the day, but when 8pm rolled around and the bar had been open for long enough for Cordelia to not seem obsessed, she’d be crossing the street again and pushing into the club’s hive.
She’d sought out Lou on one of the nights when she’d been behind the bar, and bought her a drink because that’s what people do, isn’t it? And she’d talked and Lou listened. Lou had talked too, but it was only when Cordelia got to bed that she realised that she hadn’t really said anything. She’d somehow spoken without words, and Delia had learnt nothing.
It had been the reason she’d kept returning. The curiosity. The way Lou would tease her about running out of the club like a deer in the headlights when they’d properly been introduced. It was addicting. Lou seemed to be addicting.
On the Friday night when she returned again, she didn’t immediately spot Lou in her usual place overlooking the bar like the other times that week. She hitched her dress up to jump up onto one of the bar stools, and starting talking to one of the bar staff that had been introduced as Bernie. Lou had said that he was one of the best employees she’d ever had, never asked questions, was a hard worker, friendly. Cordelia could see it in him.
It was surprisingly empty for a Friday night, and Delia could still see bits of the dance floor when she spun the stool around again to look for flashes of blonde in the club. Also, the music wasn’t splitting her head as it had been before. It must have been quieter, or, maybe she was already getting used to being a New Yorker.
Bernie’s shift ended, and he pushed a drink towards Cordelia that she hadn’t ordered. She smiled at his thoughtfulness and nursed her new drink while watching the crowd again. The bartender slipped into the stool next to her, leaning against the bar with one of his feet still on the floor while she tipped back his own drink. Cordelia turned to him, talking over the hum of the club and having him reply. Bernie talked with his hands, and his drink would often slosh over the rim and splash onto the floor. Delia wondered who would have to clean it up.
She suddenly felt the rush of the alcohol hitting her, much worse than on any other night, and she shook her head in an attempt to shake it off. All that did was make her feel dizzy and disorientated, slumping forward slightly so the edge of the bar pressed uncomfortably into her ribs. She could make out someone talking to her, but their words were hazy and slurred and they didn’t register properly. She swore that she hadn’t drunk anything else that night than she usually did.
Her head hurt, throbbing in time to the low beat of the music.
Bernie appeared in her line of vision, expression one she couldn’t make out. Concern? He offered her some more of her drink, brought it to her lips but she shook her head, and the drink spilt down the front of her dress, sticking immediately. Cold fabric to warm skin, and he was palming at it in an attempt to dry her, but it was just making it worse. Bernie’s hands cupped her face, and Cordelia’s slow eyes met his. He was so worried, and then his face was expressionless, and he was leaning in to kiss her, and she was trapped in by the bar and still nothing made sense.
She hadn’t drunk anything different.
His mouth that tasted of beer on her tongue even after it moved away and down to her neck. She wanted to gag. To tell Bernie to stop; but the words formed like clouds on her tongue, dying when she started to breathe them to life. The mouth that she tried to push away but her palms met skin that seemed to melt into air and didn’t deter the man.
Every part of her sentient brain was telling her that it should be a struggle, but all she could feel was the wash of calm, gentle waves of the ocean lapping warmly at her body and pulling her towards sleep. Sleep felt inviting as her body relaxed.
Just as she thought she might pass out; arms were around her waist and hands on skin to prop her up against them. She was being led somewhere, through the crowd maybe, which seemed to have morphed into a sea, but her legs wouldn’t cooperate, and the fingers closed tightly around her waist. Strong arms, she didn’t know who, her vision seemed to be slipping and she tried to hold onto the colours that she could see. The flashing blues and deep reds of the club lights, the hazy green of the light behind the bar. She was underwater now, with arms that wanted to thrash but couldn’t seem to lift themselves, eyes that couldn’t see past the water’s murk, colours and figures blurred into a haze.
Some things she didn’t even think were real. Like the quick flash of blonde before black.

The Beekeeper and the Medic
The Beekeeper and the Medic 🐝
(Johnlock/Witcher crossover au?!)
The hives looked well tended ... the little cottage ... neatly in order. But the real devestation, was in the woods surrounding. Which looked ... as if they had been burnt down. Leaving only a cave in the center of them. Standing barren and bald, like a nobleman's head.
"Are you sure you want to go in there?" Jaskier asked. Hand reaching for Geralt's disappearing form, even as he was swallowed by the darkness.
"I'll just ... wait out here, then? Shall I?" he asked to the hollow echo that fed his words back to him.
Geralt tiptoed carefully through the darkness. His eyesight had been hightened by the Cat potion. But what he was seeing wasn't making a lot of sense. The Bruxa must have been here??
He could see signs of her rumoured stay ... but they all seemed to be leading back out of the cave? And there were no signs of the beekeeper or the medic ... He grew pale. Hoping he wasn't too late!
Bruxa being incredibly dangerous. ... he was not looking forward to meeting her. He thought back to the nearby government official, who had paid him MORE than handsomely to come and take care of it before it harmed the pair! Now that he thought about it ... he should have asked why?
... Unless the man had an affinity for honey? Or perhaps, this was his own personal physician? Either way ... it didn't add up. The man was ice. Hardly one to wax warm over the loss of anyone in his domain ... ?
Curious.
The center of the cave was warmer here.
Geralt heard moaning ... Racing into what must be the heart of the cave and saw ... a fur blanket moving ... "Come out and face me!" he sneered as the blanket continued to writhe ...
His blade drawn and ready to conquer whatever may come ...
But instead of a mouthful of teeth or the demon eyes of a Bruxa - he faced a dark mop of curls and golden smile of both the Beekeeper and the Medic peering out from beneath their furs at him?
"I ... um ..." Geralt scrambled for the right words to say, but ended up bowing and racing out of the cave instead. Running straight into Jaskier.
"Get to the bottom of things?" Jaskier asked, head peering over his shoulder in curiosity. Geralt, to his surprise, already flushed, simply turned redder and froze in place at the sound of movement behind him. Jaskier's tippy-toes were starting to ache as he strained to see! "No - trophy? To show for your efforts?"
"Go!" Geralt warned. Growling.
"But ... ?" Jaskier protested.
"Hullo!"
Geralt whipped around to find the Medic and the Beekeeper coming out in the blazing noonday sun. Oblivious to the embarrassment he was experiencing ... blinking and still tying their belts around their waists.
"What brings you two here?" The medic was reaching out his hand and smiling broadly at Jaskier's friendly greeting. Even glancing up at Geralt's scowl with an knowing grin. Geralt grunted.
Impatient, he had to ask, "the was a BRUXA here! I was commissioned to make you both *ehem*," he coughed, "safe."
"Bit late for that, mate?" The Medic laughed, looking back at *his* beekeeper and winking.
Geralt simply stood with his hands on his hips and glared. Waiting for the explanation?
"... sure, she tried to come and get us? But ... uh, didn't realize we were immune to her charms ... and well ... Sherlock here? Kept her talking until sun-up! Finally crashed in the cave for a little R&R since it was darker in there. Where you ... found us?!"
He grinned up cheekily.
"Oh," Sherlock finally spoke up. Handing a mouthful of teeth to Geralt, as if to be rid of them. "Send my regards with the collection of your reward? Tell Mycroft not to bother in future. If need be ... remind him that I am a genius, and that John is smarter than he looks. There's always the two of us here ... We'll get along just fine without his interference, thank you!"
"And, I shall write a song about you two!" Jaskier piped up.
"No you won't!" Geralt warned, yanking Jaskier by the collar and dragging him bodily, towards the horse ...
"Send our love!" John called out. Sending smoochy kisses through the air.
"They seem like nice fellows!" Jaskier teased, "you know Geralt, you catch more flies with honey-"
"I don't want flie-" he glared up at Jaskier as he threw him onto the horse. "SHUT IT!" he snapped, as Jaskier's grinned in reply. Then he settled himself upon the horse as well and felt Jaskier wrap his arms around him. Blinking. Before taking off with a scowl.
"Remind me never to come here again?" he asked sarcastically. Knowing it was forever burned in his memory.
"Oh, this is definitely going to be a song!"

Tags
I'm still trying to figure out how I want to organize my tags here, but my priority in tagging is reaching as many hypnofetish peeps as I can while making sure that the non-hypnofetish peeps don't have to see this weird shit. That's why I'll never publish a story under certain vanilla tags like "fiction" or "requests."
I also have a number of tags that are strictly used for future updates to the blog. Currently I have a link for Stories and Captions, but I'd also like to have a link to view posts by series, character, or requests. I don't have enough content posted to the blog yet to justify that level of detail, but it'll come soon.
General Tags
These are the tags that I use on just about every post
mind control
controlled
brainwashed
Content Tags
These are tags that I use for differentiating between the types of mind control featured in each story or caption
hypnosis - A bit more specific than simply mind control, stories published with the hypnosis tag feature your usual suspects of pendulums, eyes, and soothing voices.
tech control - May include brainwashing collars. technobabble lingerie, evil computers, and VR headsets. Generally speaking, anything with a microchip.
alien mind control - Are there aliens? It's alien mind control.
serial recruitment - One of my favorite tropes so another super common tag, brainwashed ladies make more brainwashed ladies
hive mind - Likely some crossover with alien mind control, this tag is for stories where each victim becomes a part of one consciousness.
Genre, Series, and Character Tags
Used for differentiating between quick captions and microfiction and longer form chapters of ongoing series.
hypno story - Anything longer than a couple hundred words. Includes chapters of a series.
hypno caption - Bite-sized, quick mind control fixes.
subliminalbo request - May need to work on this one tbh, but until I think of something catchier this will be my requests tags.
old request - Requests don't always match my personal taste, but sometimes they turn out pretty good. I have a lot of old requests in the queue and they'll be tagged with this.
series: - Used for organizing series by title. The series name follows the colon. In the near future I'll have a dedicated page on my blog for easily accessing these tags.
oc: - Similar to series, this tag is used for sorting by original characters, if that's something that you care about.
subliminalbo - This tag is just used for organizing my About Me page. Inside baseball about the page or any important information I think you should know.

PHEW!!! finally finished that last chapter. I was drawing it out, savoring, even though the book was already doing that for me haha, dragging along haha. the peacefalls were pretty indulgent, in the best way though, wrapping everything up in a perhaps overly optimistic view of how they expect their future to unfold...
I'm mostly okay with it??
JEDD is MASON, but shares it, is the Brillist stem but never headmaster, rejects offices in other Hives. hate that everyone had to agree they're okay with him becoming dictator, more or less, before he could fill a more proper role, but sure whatever.
I really like how the change to every out-of-control Hive was how to share their best assets with the rest of humanity, and that this connection/sharing then serves as a check on their own worst tendencies. except for Humanists apparently, whose both worst tendency and greatest asset is being human ksjdhgsgs. Like I'm basking in the afterglow buuuut I'm optimistic. maybe they're on their way to a better world. maybe.
most controversial is Utopia's sentence of course... I will never be comfortable with Mason power in particular but the way that Mason megalomania is checked by giving up some of their trappings of empire helps at least, plus the now public oath pledging them to away-follow, that helps. of anyone to be able to hold Utopia accountable for their resources & what they're doing with it, Mason is most able to back up that threat, although I worry that Mason will see harbringers where Utopia intends only tools for exploration. there's a lot of crossover, anything powerful enough to traverse & survive space can probably double as a secret weapon easily. I love Utopia, and honestly in this war they did nothing wrong imo, but no small cult faction should command sole control of the majority of humanity's resources.
ALSO I still want more formal partnership between Utopia and Mitsubishi!!! once Mars is a garden, it refers to humanity under Mason hands? (I forget) but this is an instance where Mitsubishi institutionalized focus on land stewardship would be useful, and would serve as a balance to Mason.
although I still don't see how this prevents Utopia from dying out... I mean I think there will always be people wanting to strive out of comfort and explore, I think it's human nature, but it does have to be actively cultivated in is I think. there was something about how the resurrection thing will help solve this issue??? I don't understand, gotta reread I guess, BUT then again I'm still actively against resurrection/immortality as a concept so.
ummmm anyway I was enjoying the sentimentality and indulgence of everything AND THEN FUCKING JEDD AGAIN TALKING ABOUT UTOPIA!!! their first goal is friendship!!!!!!!! not power not empire (ugh why is anyone Mason tbh) BUT FRIENDSHIP CONNECTION KINDNESS and that's why they're who they are, why JEDD is encouraging them in particular towards next contact.
THAT'S WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT! CONTACT! CONNECTION! breaking out of your cozy little bubble, your safe insular community, your own inner space, AND REACHING OUT!!!! even when it's hard, especially when it's hard, that's what makes it all worth it, THAT'S WHAT HUMANITY IS ABOUT aaahhhh... and now that's what every Hive has remade itself to try to cultivate, with Utopia as its best future 😭😭😭. catch me all choked up again crying on my ereader goddamn it. it's very star trek. I love it so much and my heart feels so big.

To put into perspective how wild that scene is for the Watcher, when Ultron sees him; As he says, he sees all things that have happened, are happening, will happen, etc.
So Uatu probably already knows how this story with the Ultron timeline is going to go. Ultron successfully eradicates all life sans Clint and Natasha, and eventually Clint- But Nat successfully connects Zola to the hive network. Zola probably takes control of the Infinity Stones with Ultron’s body and creates a terrible world ruled by HYDRA, hence this timeline being particularly heartbreaking to the Watcher. But what he doesn’t realize is that by the time Ultron wipes out pretty much all life, he’s gained such a state of awareness through the Infinity Stones that he can overhear beings like the Watchers.
So as a result, the Watcher unknowingly intervenes when he narrates aloud, causing Ultron to hear him- Which alerts him to the grander multiverse, and changes up the future to Ultron noticing Uatu, hence his confusion when he realizes he’s now narrating Ultron noticing him, and then it happens! The story changed and adapted to this accidental intrusion by the Watcher, due to Ultron’s heightened sense of awareness making him sensitive to these things at such a crucial moment.
To put it into perspective, you’re overlooking a bunch of channels and shows and movies. You decided to watch one and you’re reading the script as it goes along. You know how it goes, but at the moment a character gains godlike power and awareness, he’s actually able to hear you from beyond the fourth wall, and suddenly the script changes to say that the character notices you.
Just as you notice and realize this difference, that this isn’t how the scene is supposed to go, it sinks in what exactly is happening in this new version of the scene... And just as the changing script says, the character speaks out and addresses you. You freak out, change the channel or turn off the TV, and then resume the movie, which has moved onto another set of characters... But just when it’s slipped your mind, this hyper-aware character breaks out of the TV screen and confronts you, and has access to every channel to infiltrate and basically take over.
That’s basically what Uatu went through- His narration accidentally changed the timeline at a point where Ultron was sensitive to this type of ‘interference’, liable to notice and be affected by it. He likely foresaw a different outcome for Ultron that stayed within his timeline, one involving Zola remaking the universe in his image; Which is why he’s so shocked when Ultron doesn’t so much break script, as he sees the script/future literally rewrite itself in response to Ultron hearing Uatu read it from beyond the fourth wall!
Uatu is essentially time traveling as he narrates, aware of what’s supposed to happen, but nothing can notice and thus be affected by him, so there is no consequence to this. Everyone does exactly as they’ve always done... But the Watcher unknowingly came across a person who COULD notice, and thus accidentally outed himself and changed the future, and thus his reading and past understanding of it- Hence the narration becoming confused when Uatu starts getting to the part where Ultron notices him, and then freaks when it actually happens on the screen itself.
So the next episode, the season finale, being titled “What if the Watcher broke his oath” arguably applies to the previous episode... And in a meta sense, his “What if Ultron won?” story was probably meant to go as a regular self-contained story, until the premise got further changed up with Uatu’s narration being heard. Ultron begins to break the fourth wall and in a meta sense the structure of the show, necessitating a crossover between these timelines and ‘stories’, and thus a finale that breaks away from the self-contained format of each episode telling a different timeline.
But yeah, the script changing itself in response to the Watcher reading it aloud while he watches the show, because the show itself hears him and thus the story and script itself is altered- Puts Uatu’s freaked-out reaction into further perspective here. You’ve read a book before, but this time you read it aloud and the words on the page change to describe one of the characters hearing you read the book, and then the dialogue changes to him directly addressing you; So you’re unnerved and try to ignore this as you skip to the next chapter where the POV changes to others, only for the previous character to tear through the book and confront you in real life. You’ve already went through the story before, that’s not how it’s supposed to go.
Ultron really took being self-aware to the next level, first self-aware as an AI, and now as a character in a story! And realizes this is at a point where he has the power to come into our world, he just never considered or knew of it because he never realized he was within a ‘story’, until he heard the reader...

I tried to put together the Rose-centric issues from Rebirth: Deathstroke (2016) because I saw someone say they only knew her comic-wise from Future State: Red Hood and it gave me hives. She’ll be in the upcoming Robin #1 (2021)! Please get to know her before then!
I used this reading list by @rosewilsonworth to read all of her pre-rebirth appearances (it’s very good and comes with downloads for the comics!!)
Disclaimer: This is not an open debate post on whether Deathstroke Rebirth was “good”, it’s just all the issues/arcs where Rose is prevalent, which is a nice chunk of them because Deathstroke Rebirth is really just Wilson Family Drama™️ masquerading as a Deathstroke comic. I will say because of how this run plays with time and order, I recommend reading it straight through at least once, it’s less confusing that way.
If you like Rose I will say please try to give these a read at least once, they’ve grown on me since I read them a while back.
I read these comics on the DC Infinite app which I, unfortunately, pay for, but don’t hesitate to buy them from your local comic shop (or pirate them).
Deathstroke 2 - 9
The Ravager Contract - Technically starts in 3, but 2 has Rose’s Rebirth backstory (they kill her mother off screen). Someone takes a hit out on Rose! Who could it be! Featuring a Daddy-Daughter roadtrip, and Batman meddling, this arc ends with Rose trying to connect to her mother’s family.
Deathstroke 15 - 18
Bloodlines/A Family Affair - A lot is going on in these issues, it’s the events surrounding Joey’s wedding (Slade is blind! Tanya is amazing!) But Rose is there in her position as Joey’s little sister who he loves very much.
Deathstroke 19 - 20
The Lazarus Contract - the crossover with the Titans (Titans 11) and the Teen Titans (Damian’s titans, Teen Titans #8). Focuses on Wally, Slade’s relationship with the older titans, explains more about Slade as a father and has a little of Rose’s backstory (it attempts to connect Wally, Wallace and the new 52 history with pre 52 history and rebirth, worth a read!)
Deathstroke 21 - 29
Defiance - Slade attempts to be good. The team has Rose, Joey, Tanya (Power Girl 2), Wallace (Kid Flash 2), and an additional surprise member! Rose has two different significant storylines happening in this arc. #23 is a must-read for me, She stabs Slade and vocalizes a lot of her thoughts and feelings towards her father, it’s good. 24 has some good panels of her too. This arc also explained the power behind her sword and a little lore. Gets kinda resolved by 29.
Deathstroke 36- 40
Willow - Rose and Two-Face hang out in Vietnam together, its got some interesting conversations is all I’ll really say.
Deathstroke 41
Rose and Slade run a job together, and work really well together 🥺 (Joey is betraying Slade in the background to Damian, ya know just an average Wilson family day.)
Deathstroke 44 - 50
Slade dies, Rose tries and fails to be Deathstroke (Shado shows up!!)! Joey gets engaged, and then unengaged at a rapid pace. The Wilsons celebrate Christmas together.
And that’s the run! Overall, Rose’s character ended in a good place. She was finally figuring out what she wanted from life, and it was not being Deathstroke, or being a killer, it was being with her family on Christmas Eve, and then moving from there. She had both eyes and a cool sword that even Slade’s armor couldn’t account for. I really liked her relationship with Joey and Wintergreen and the constant attempts she made to connect with her culture.
She shows up for the last time in Rebirth in "Together" from Dark Nights Death Metal: The Last Stories Of The DC Universe #1
Give it a read if you want, don’t hesitate to send me questions and support your local comic shop and remember to read the new Robin run with Rose in it! Unless it’s bad in that case forget this!
#rose wilson#slade wilson#deathstroke#ravager#dc comics#joey wilson#technically hes relevant in the entire run while rose drifts in and out

Thoughts on an MLP/TMA crossover, because we know all the Fears are going Somewhere Else now, and that just makes for great crossover fuel. Slowly working on the fic here.
Sunset: Avatar of the Eye, probably takes on the position of Archivist. It wouldn’t even be that much of an expansion from her mind-reading powers.
SciTwi: Avatar of the Dark. Her researches into the collision of science and magic and the Fears leads her into a dimension beyond science and reason, a world where logic falls sloppy dead to your own worst inhibitions and projections. A bit like Manuela Dominguez.
Pinkie Pie: Avatar of the Spiral, because she’s just a living cartoon character anyway, and the implications of that have their own special kind of horror. Pushed into the Spiral by the rest of her family falling into the Buried.
Rainbow Dash: Avatar of the Vast. She’s got the aesthetic, the attitude, everything. Mainly manifests in competitions and challenges, the fear of being second best, of being nothing special and ultimately insignificant.
Rarity: Avatar of the Stranger. The Stranger has never missed a chance to perform, after all, and she does work with ever so many mannequins…
Applejack: Avatar of the Buried, her powers manifesting both in the literal sense of choking soil and dirt as well as the crushing weight of traditionalism and expectations.
Fluttershy: Avatar of the Hunt. This is a bit of an odd one. I kind of can’t help but picture her as a plant-based predator, a la the venus flytrap and pitcher plants. That said, she has a much clearer connection to animals. I feel like she’s definitely Hunt, though.
Trixie: Avatar of the Web, who made a deal with Mother of Puppets to get a Stranger off her back.
Cadance: Avatar of the Corruption. Mostly a harmless one, of course, overflowing with such sweetness. Who could ever think she would harm anyone under her auspices? They’re all a part of her hive, after all. All so very sweet…
The Shadowbolts: Haunted by the specter of Slaughter, honed for years by Abacus Cinch’s push for ruthless competition and excellence. The tensions never truly left, even after her fall from grace, and now they seem to be getting entirely out of hand.
Vignette Valencia: Avatar of the Stranger. This really isn’t far off from her canonical magic of replacing others. And ‘Being Yourself, But Better’ is practically an invitation for the Stranger to swing by.
Ditzy Doo: Avatar of ???. She’s definitely got something going on with her, but it’s usually not the central focus of the people around her. They only look at the packages she brings, the deliveries she makes. The way her Eyes Spiral is a tertiary concern at best – at least, unless she focuses on you. Fills in for Breekon and Hope.
Lyra Heartstrings: Avatar of the Extinction, brought about by her own research into the arrival of the Fears, her obsession with cryptozoology and conspiracy, and her mounting fear for the future of multiple worlds.
Wallflower Blush: Avatar of the Lonely. Again, this is basically where she was in canon, but with an added twist of nightmarish mist.
Juniper Montage: Avatar of the End. I’m gonna level with you, I didn’t have anyone lined up for the End, so I thought, ‘she’ll do’. She watched a cursed slasher film that kept showing her deaths that were destined to happen in the real world.
Autumn Blaze: Avatar of the Desolation, kickstarted when her family began to topple into the Lonely.
Big Macintosh: Avatar of the Flesh. A combination of working with meat animals and frequently being objectified for his looks led to Mac becoming something entirely other.
