Think about a little Goblin that always wore his dad's stuff things and styled himself after his dad, but his mom thought that was because he missed him initially and didn't think much of it. Never questioned it or wanted him to stop, because she missed him too.

And think about how maybe it was actually Penny that helped him realize that he might not be a lil goblin girl. How she was this older girl that he thought he should be trying to emulate some, but it just wasn't happening. She was pretty, sure, and real nice. But she was like a sister, not a role model. One of the reasons he was so excited about starting at Aguefort was that he wasn't gonna have all the same classmates as he grew up with, so they were gonna know him as just Riz the Detective and not as who he had been half heartedly trying to be before. Whatever the name his teachers had insisted on calling him.
