Heyyy just a heads up that you can find my aideku fics in this series!

Summary:

The hero commission decides to roll out a poorly designed dating software for its registered heroes in the interest of avoiding any tabloid drama when someone -*cough* Hawks- is photographed doing the walk of shame- again.

That's all well and good until Shinsou and Izuku get drunk off their asses and decide it would be funny to make a profile for Izuku, and it is one hell of a profile.

Or: Izuku and Shouta both get insane profiles made for themselves and somehow end up on a blind date, things spiral from there.

I have a huge gay agenda for boku no hero and I'm constantly talking about it, so let's do smt a bit different. Here's my beutiful list for platonic with a capital p, awesomest most incredible friendships :

Ochaco and Midoryia. Ok are they canonally each other's love interest ? Yes. Do I respect that ? Yes. Do I think, however, that they are also super awesome as bffs who back each other up at absolutely everything ? YES Izuocha as bffs would destroy the world and also be each other wingpeople and also murder each other's enemies and also-

Bakugou and Todoroki. I think the shipps cute, but their friendship is also awesome. They would either be able to defeat the greatest evil or die while fighting over a rock.

HELP FINDING A MHA DAD FOR ONE FANFIC!!!

(UPDATE: the fic has been found it’s called “Words as Weapons” and it’s finished now!! LINK AT THE BOTTOM)

I’m just gonna list as much as I can remember about it

It was a work in progress with more than 30 chapters I think. (finished with 40 chapters)

The title I THINK either started with a “M” or had one in the word. (NOT EVEN IT WAS A “W” SMH)

Switching POVs; 3rd person i think

It was a My Hero Academia fanfic on AO3 where All for One is Midoriya Hisashi and raises Izuku.

AFO has made Izuku write analysis essays since he was young to challenge his perception of hero society; this also has the added bonus of making him like a wiz in school

At one point he writes a bunch of reports for Nedzu about what happened at the USJ and he and the police both agree that report is so well done it’s professional level good.

AFO gives him quirks and swaps them out periodically

Izuku has an emotion quirk, I believe, that let’s him see emotions as colorful smoky clouds I can’t really remember the others but there might’ve been a minor telekinetic quirk as well.

Izuku still gets OFA. After that, everytime AFO gives him a quirk, OFA “eats it”. I specifically remember a line where AFO’s internal dialogue says “OFA ate them/it”—referring to AFO’s gifted quirks—meaning that AFO couldn’t take quirks from Izuku anymore (since OFA can’t be taken).

Izuku has sort of negative habits he picked up from the way he was raised. He tends to be kinda manipulative and lies about a lot of things (kinda small things) and All Might catches his doing this and kindly asserts that he doesn’t have to be dishonest to achieve certain things.

There’s a chapter where All Might comes over for dinner. He isn’t aware Izuku’s dad is AFO

AFO is like mentally/emotionally abusive or something and gaslights him a lot (i can’t remember for sure but I think that might’ve been a tag as well) and Izuku grows up kind of scared of him but still believes his father loves him.

At the Sports Festival with Todoroki Izuku throws the fight so Todoroki won’t get into trouble at home with his father even though Izuku will end up in trouble for failing as well. This begins their friendship cuz Todoroki realizes Izuku has a bad home life like him.

Izuku, Shinsou Hitoshi, and Todoroki sit together at lunch at a table by themselves I believe.

Shinsou and Todoroki start to talk to each other without Izuku because they both have concerns about his home life.

At one point Shinsou is over for dinner I think and he gets like all kinds of bad vibes from AFO.

The last part I remember reading was right before the training camp where Izuku’s dad locks him in the basement and he ends up using his quirk to dig his way out. He makes it to the school bus and Aizawa is super concerned cuz he’s covered in dirt. He asks Izuku and then Shinsou if something was wrong but they don’t tell him anything.

And that’s basically all I remember. Thx in advance anything helps but mostly the name lol

goddddd this author's aizawa...it was so so hard to choose one fic to rec bc they have so much incredible stuff, but i really really like the dissociation depiction here!

i feel like this fic was designed in a lab to make me specifically go insane. such incredibly powerful hurt/comfort & exploration of how it feels to never let yourself have comfort

The school gym is being attacked by a villain whose Quirk makes you hallucinate your worst fears, and it's somehow come down to Shinsou to save the day. Welcome to the Hero Course!

Even through the haze of panic, the feeling of glass in his lungs and throat as he struggled to breathe when he saw his name in 20th place at the end of the quirk test, Izuku still knew one thing with brutal clarity. It’s not possible that he was in last place. And if Aizawa-sensei was willing to tamper with his score on the quirk test, then he’s probably willing to do the same with Izuku’s grades. And if Aizawa-sensei is willing to do it, the other teachers at Yuuei probably are too. Hence his now established practice of checking his graded work against Iida’s.

i love this author's aizawa so so much and it was hard to choose one fic to rec, but i adore this creative manifestation of how izuku's history with schools/teachers could manifest

Sir Nighteye doesn't think Izuku has what it takes to be a hero. He especially doesn't think Izuku should have been chosen to wield One For All. That's okay! Really! It is! It's hardly the first time Izuku has had people trying to stop him. He'll be fine. He can handle this. Tsuyu and Ochako think differently. They watch his stress levels rise and his self-confidence fall, and they don't like what they're seeing. Perhaps, it's time for an intervention.

Hitoshi has a thing about voices. Part of it's because of his Quirk, probably. He's always listening for that reply. It's the opening, the chink in a person's armor that lets his own voice slip in and hijack their brain. But part of it is that most people are wary around him, so when someone does talk, particularly to him, it stands out.

“ Do you have a hidden talent? ” Shinsou read off, turning to Izuku.

“Are you serious right now?” Izuku winced. 

“Yes,” Shinous said, unblinking. They stared at each other for a minute, which quickly turned into a contest (as things do with drunk people). “You can’t beat me, Izu. I have a very specific set of skills, skills I’ve acquired over years of insomniac episodes watching cat videos.”

Eventually, Izuku folds, eyes burning, and he downs a huge gulp of his drink before answering. 

“I can do this thing with my tongue.”

“Care to elaborate?” Toshi’s eyes widen before narrowing again, the nosy bastard.  

“Nope! Next question,” Izukus says cheerfully, taking another sip.

I don't think I need to introduce this role. So yeah, Izuku as Twilight just got me right. First I wanted to draw him with a crown. But then I thought that Izuku could get a crown after that memorable transformation to alicorn and coronation (in this case a prince lmao)

He is a student of King Yagi, who just couldn't seeing him without any friends. So he kicked him from Canterlot and sent Midoriya to find some friends. Yeah. Not a very good educational method but oh well.

I couldn't just not draw Hitoshi, okay? And I wanted to draw the element. It's about the necklace around his neck (yes. It's in the shape of a cat's paw ^^). For now I think I would give him an element of honesty (Applejack). But I'm not sure about it!

He just met Izuku in Musutafu and kinda stick with him. Noble who was thrown out to the town. Well, he wouldn't be able to handle it. So Shinsou helped (and also wheeze at every confusion on Midoriya's face)

For now it's everything from doodles but I will definitely write more about this au!

Kid Hitoshi starts Aldera, and he already knows it’s going to be the same as every other middle school he’s been shoved in after he gets bounced to a new house. The teacher says his name and quirk like they’re spitting out poison, most of the students shrink back like he’s going to attack them right there, and he’s directed to the only empty desk in the room in the far back and separated from all other desks except one shoved in the back corner with a head of green curls bent low over a notebook.

One of the kids tries to trip him on the way back to his desk, Hitoshi flashes his teeth, just because he can, just because they haven’t put the muzzle on him yet.

His desk neighbor doesn’t look up from their notebook as he sits down and pulls out his own notebook. If he looks close enough out of the corner of his eye he can see words carved into their desk.

Deku.

Useless.

Die.

He feels sick. He wants to open his mouth and force all of them to tell them who carved those words. He wants to help.

No one ever helped him. He doubted anyone had helped them either.

Then someone calls him a villain as they walk past to grab something from the shelves in the back of the room. Then those green curls shift and burning green eyes narrow on their classmate.

“I don’t think he’s a villain.”

Simple. Easy. Words that Hitoshi had all but given up on hearing years ago.

“Shut up, Deku!” The kid snapped, kicking the green kid’s desk hard enough that the legs on the ancient thing creak and groan.

The teacher doesn’t look back at them. They never do. Not for people like Hitoshi. Not for people like this green kid either.

Looking at them, Hitoshi decides that ‘fuck it’ is a perfectly viable option at the end of the day.

“Did your parents drop you or something? Is that why you’re stupid and ugly?”

The cold bite of the muzzle was worth it for the smile the green kid gave him when the bully jumped on another desk and started a jerky, awkward dance. Was worth it for the scrap of paper tossed on his desk when the teacher turned his back with a rather unflattering caricature of their teacher doodled on the front, all pinched and more than a little insect-like, that had him pillowing his head on his folded arms laughing with barely audibly little huffs of breath. The paper he passed back was just two words. Two words that would start a friendship to last years.

Shinsou Hitoshi.

He got another blinding smile and two words written in eye burningly green pen.

Midoriya Izuku.
