Hisoka's brief moment of reflection in chapter 405 reveals a few things to us. Among them, the most interesting one, in my opinion, is that he still gets excited about fights. Fights are still what moves him.
I say this because after Hisoka's resurrection, many people theorized about the possibility that he no longer liked fighting as much as he used to, they even said that he would now be a sneaky hunter, that he would kill without the need for a fight, but that was denied in this chapter.

"Killugon is wholesome, Hisogon is problematic" Nah bruh all ships with Gon Freecss are problematic. Gon is problematic. He will blow up his arms, his life, your sanity if you so much as care about him. That "innocent" smile is a lie.

(hxh) PHANTOM TROUPE // KURTA CLAN theory
...debunking PT did it
Tumblr media
So let me preface this by saying this was 100% inspired by a tiktok comment in a hxh phantom troupe's religious symbolism video back in 2021 (:/). The person who commented made such an impact I screenshotted their comments which unfortunately are not in correct order and messaged them this year (i just know they think im weird) but they never responded. I'd give their @ but its their government name (I take it) so msg me for deets. All credit goes to them as I'm just polishing and tidying these thoughts.
First op talks about Meteor City, a junkyard city inhabited by outcasts. People who live there do not exist on any official records and are treated horribly from the outside, people are taken from Meteor City for crimes, prostitution, slavery and no one's doing a thing to stop it. People go outside and face racism, like the one guy accused of a crime he didnt commit and when the truth is shown no one does anything (think op meant The Bum Incident, vol 11, Chapter 102). These people get no justice, they're just used and this is where the duality of Chrollo comes in, he is a demon to the outside world because he is challenging the gods but also a Jesus figure for the underprivileged Meteor City. Even his reverse St Peters Cross on his jacket means that he feels unworthy to be crucified in the same manner as Jesus. Thats his way of saying he doesnt see himself as worthy of savior. His priority is the Troupe so they can together be seen to the outside world, they are literally a troupe of phantoms, trying to be recognized. This is why when he asks Neon if she believes in ghosts and she says no, she is the oppressor that doesn't understand the one hurt.
If you read the story with this idea in mind you start to observe that the Troupe only attacks people hazardous for the City (mafia, ants) or when they want revenge for one of them killed so its weird they are presented in a positive almost heroic light. Only exception that sticks out to the story? Kurta massacre.
The og commenter wondered why it was that the Troupe was always presented in a positive light. We've known the Phantom Troupe does acts of good alongside the bad but we also haven't seen anything entirely "evil" commited by any of them yet. Most of the legends surrounding them are hearsay. And though they could have easily killed Gon and Killua, they don't, twice. Also, Uvogin when taken by mafia/Kurapika says if freed, they wouldn't hurt them as they are not the target.
Op comments on how narrative should be filtered as its being commented via Gon- a non objective source, they claim that the 1st arc feels like a kid show whereas chimera arc feels dark, thats not to say it is actually like that but as Gon's perspective changes so does the narration. At first when innocent people die, he doesnt really care but in chimera we need a narrator to explain as Gon is too biased at that point. Regarding the massacre we only have Kurapika's word but what we are being told/shown about the Troupe is different. The characters talk about the Kurta massacre, how horrible and brutal it was but the narrative is keen and favors the Troupe, it paints them in a favorable light and why should the narrative do that, they don't become better people like the Ants after all.
From the moment they appear on screen, the narrative wants us to see them as underprivileged, both in York New and in the ship, even when they're fighting in Meteor City, they're fighting for injustice or when somebody hurts them. Then why justify their actions everytime they appear on screen if they massacred the Kurta Clan? If they are responsible for this why make them the underprivileged representation? Both Kurta and Troupe says the op are ostracized by the outside and seen less from people.
Say they did it. 3 ideas were proposed as to why.
1. for the eyes (Chrollo likes the eyes, like Hisoka said but Hisoka is a liar and also Chrollo has never shown interest in the show for them. For someone who steals things he likes, why make an exception and murder here?)
2. for money (that's not correct, we are told multiple times they don't care about it, neither money nor fame, they want to be recognized by the world but how would that work by killing a clan that's been hidden for 100 years, they dont get anything out of it.)
3. for revenge: Revenge for what? Kurta are a peaceful clan that hide for years. We know the Troupe left a note that is the motto of Meteor City (I'm adding here what op referred to: "we reject no one so take nothing from us"). Op says note means they serve justice to their city, when someone takes things away from them so what did Kurta take? From the thematic and narrative point they are not set up to have done it, op thinks thats 100% intentional.
Like said above, BOTH have the thematic of oppression from the outside world, they are a commodity for the rich and powerful (gods) but why is Phantom Troupe put in the light of both, the oppressor and the oppressed? Why would an oppressed group oppress another one for NO good reason? The Troupe doesn't kill innocent people if not necessary, they do NOT care about money or fame and the revenge aspect doesnt work because the Kurta were isolated from the outside.
If we look back at the York New Arc they never state the massacre, they simply suggest it and of course from a Kurapika POV they are guilty but if you look again you have to ask..are they really?
this took ages for me to coherently formulate and ik it goes back and forth but bless op's heart because it changed my perspective completely (more than any yt analysis found online) !

Will Kurapika and Hisoka team up again?
I wanna see Kurapika and Hisoka team up against the phantom troupe on the black whale like they did in YorkNew City. I think thats the only way Hisoka will survive. And Kurapika could use some help getting his clan’s eyes while protecting Oito and Wobble.

Thoughts on the body swap theory for Hisoka and illumi?
Tumblr media
(One quick trip to reddit later...)
Okay well it turns out that i'm way more out of the loop on HxH than i thought, wow. I have to admit to a (debatably) shameful HxH secret: I've actually never read any of the death boat chapters. ;w; The fandom was more active when it started and I was just getting information on new chapters vicariously through everyone else's conversations. (Incidentally this is also more or less how i "finished" reading Homestuck back in the day lmao)
But as to the theory! I'm assuming this is the theory that Hisoka is disguised as Illumi, and possibly Illumi is disguised as Hisoka in turn? I have to say, my conclusion is that Togashi is definitely up to something, but... WHAT? What is it???? that, i have no idea.
This initial post theorizing that Hisoka is disguised as Illumi is very intriguing. I think the strongest potential evidence is that Togashi himself hinted at a spoiler under a drawing of lips, in connection to Illumi drawn without lips on that volume cover + Hisoka getting his lips fucken burned off when he fought Chrollo. The other points of evidence are less strong to me... and then this other post arguing against the theory is also very intriguing to me. I think there's points to be made on both sides, although I think I'm leaning ever so slightly against the theory – hard for me to say definitively without having read the chapters myself. But undeniably, Togashi is UP TO SOMETHING. and he WANTS US TO KNOW IT. and he WANTS US to sit here TALKING OURSELVES IN CIRCLES ABOUT IT.
Tumblr media
Yknow what I found while looking this up that i DO find to be very very believable however? This theory that Chrollo is disguised as Hisoka for some reason. I was on the fence until they pointed out how Hisoka's speech patterns are radically different in this arc, and while they acknowledge that this could just be because he, yknow, DIED and now he's not fucking around, it seems like a pretty dramatic shift for our local murderclown. The poster also pointed out a panel suggesting that Hisoka is literally watching The Thing, which in my mind is absolutely confirmation from Togashi that "Hisoka" isn't who he says he is. But who is he then?? hmm.... a mystery....

What the heck is going on on the Black Whale with Hisoka, Illumi and the Phantom Troupe
(Based on ideas and theories I saw and also my own dumb brain)
Illumi was actually Hisoka disguised as Illumi. His powered-up nen now allows him to be able to completely camouflage himself under layers of Bungee Gun and Texture Surprise.
Illumi was Illumi, but the Hisoka we see later going to the movies and talking to Hinrigh was actually Chrollo im disguise for some reasons (I've read and watched an explanation for this theory and I thought it did somewhat make sense but honestly I forgor and I'm not a fan of this theory)
Illumi and Hisoka are actually just themselves and they are eeally actually going to attempt killing the other, and potentially kill each other for fun, because they're fucked up gay murderous husbands. If Illumi dies Hisoka will not actually miss him but he'd have had the best fight of jos life after Chrollo. If Hisoka dies Illumi will first pretend he doesn't miss him, but very slowly descends into a more and more unhinged and unstable mental state, because he killed his only friend, the one he strayed fr the path of the assassin for (because of? Thanks to?)
Illumi is a double agent pretending he joined the Phantom Troupe to help them kill Hisoka. In that case: either Illumi actually also wants to kill Hisoka, but before this they have a little game of whack-a-Spider, or Illumi is fully on Hisoka's side and intends to help him squashing all the Spiders, going as far as ending up saying "Zoldycks aren't allowed to kill each other", referring to their marriage and the fact that Hisoka is now technically a Zoldyck.
Togashi will surprise all of us with something that absolutely no one even considered.

A Possible Future Based On Hisoka's Fortune - HxH Predictions
Tumblr media
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 105 (Raw)
"A red-eyed customer will visit your store. Half of them is angel, and the other is the god of death. Presumably they are hoping that you will sell the moon's secrets to them. They ought to be especially pleased about that of the frost moon.
On a hot day, with the mediation of the said customer, the two of you, the man of a reversed cross and you, are probably to be left alone together. The false fourth moon will be torn away from the calendar. With this, those that remain will become 6."
Tumblr media
I'm gonna put it here to remind us all of Hisoka's real fortune.
We all know how Shalnark ended up dead according to the fortune he received back in Yorknew arc. Now everyone is paying attention at Shizuku's fortune and making predictions. One of the most popular of these theories is how Shizuku will die around merchandise covered in black, which are brought by the Kakin mafia or one of the princes, if I remember correctly.
So now, I shall make my own predictions on what will happen in the future HxH chapters. But this time it will be based on Hisoka's real fortune.
WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN'T READ HUNTER x HUNTER CHAPTERS 349 TO 400, ESPECIALLY 391 TO 400, DO NOT INTERACT OR READ FURTHER. Keep in mind that this is unedited, and you are bound to read some cringey parts at some point.
Tumblr media
First Stanza:
"A red-eyed customer will visit your store. Half of them is angel, and the other is the god of death."
As Hisoka accepted Hinrigh's offer of going to VVIP room at tier 1, he's currently on his way there. The only one there who is described as a "red-eyed customer will visit your store. Half of them is angel, and the other is the god of death" is Kurapika, who is, at present, the bodyguard of 14th Prince Woble and Queen Oito.
At some point, they will meet again. They have to. There is no way that Hisoka will not go to the next banquet nor snoop around and find out what's up in the said tier. He will be there and his encounter with Kurapika for the first time since Yorknew arc is inevitable.
"Presumably they are hoping that you will sell the moon's secrets to them."
With Hisoka's presence in tier 1, Kurapika won't be able to help but wonder what happened to the Phantom Troupe, especially Chrollo, after Kurapika and the main gang left Chrollo, Hisoka and Pakunoda on top of the cliff/mountain (pls my brain isn't cooperating right now, somebody remind me), in the middle of nowhere.
Kurapika will definitely ask Hisoka about the Phantom Troupe. Presently, he wants to know about them and, obviously, he will get curious whether they are in the Black Whale or not. Remember, the Phantom Troupe is also his target, but obviously more secondary as 4th Prince Tserriednich is his first and foremost target as of this arc.
Kurapika will definitely find out that they are onboard the ship, and in all probability, Hisoka will let him know about it. After all, wouldn't Hisoka want to form an alliance again with Kurapika?
"They ought to be especially pleased about that of the frost moon."
I believe Hisoka will reveal something about the frost moon with Kurapika.
As you know, the frost moon refers to #11 of the Phantom Troupe. Back in Yorknew arc, they were referring to Uvogin. But he died. He even got a tombstone-less tomb and a requiem on the night of the underground auction. So, how is frost moon still relevant to this arc?
Well, sucks for you, but the one who replaced Uvogin is none other than this man:
Tumblr media
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 377 (Official English Translation)
Illumi Zoldyck.
With the way he is acting at the moment and how he divulged his assassination deal with Hisoka is making him super suspicious. There has been so many theories about him being Hisoka and so on because of how sus he is at the moment.
Though the theory about him being Hisoka has been debunked as of the current available chapters, you cannot deny that this is not merely just a "kill me and my engagement ring to or prenup with you is that you get paid". There's something more going on here.
I predict that he and Hisoka are on cahoots with each other. Surely, Hisoka had a deal with him, but I think it's more of helping him destroy the Spiders from the inside and so Illumi can save Kalluto from Hisoka's murder plan.
If it is true that Hisoka and Illumi are working together because Hisoka asked him to just like in Yorknew and Illumi can save his younger sibling, then Kurapika will be pleased. Because that's less spiders he has to worry with, considering that he also has to get closer to Prince Tserriednich to take back the remaining scarlet eyes, while also helping Queen Oito and Prince Woble survive the succession war.
(At this point, you may take a break. Resume reading once you are ready.)
Tumblr media
Second Stanza:
"On a hot day, with the mediation of the said customer, the two of you, the man of a reversed cross and you, are probably to be left alone together. "
I am mostly onboard with the prediction that Kurapika and Hisoka will come up with some sort of agreement regarding the Troupe. Kurapika already has too many things in his plate regarding the succession war with the remaining princes and how he will get close in contact with Prince Tserriednich. It won't come into surprise if Kurapika asks Hisoka for a helping hand or accept Hisoka's offer of his own kind of alliance, which I think he would do just like in Yorknew. But I think this time Hisoka will warn him not to remove Chrollo's nen. xD
Hisoka will perhaps help him take out some of the members. I feel that he will go for Shizuku and/or Bonolenov first. They are currently with Chrollo, so perhaps with Kurapika's help or someone's help, Chrollo can get separated from them, and then he can kill Shizuku and Bonolenov right then and there.
But we can also take into account that the closes Spiders to Hisoka right now are Nobunaga, Phinks, Feitan, and most likely Franklin and Machi. He can go for one of them first, as well. But I really feel like Shizuku and Bonolenov will die and I'll explain why in a short bit.
And of course, the one I'm most excited about is the showdown between Hisoka and Machi. I'm so ready to witness the best tragic romance of all times
Later on, Kurapika will maybe help him get another chance to be alone with Chrollo in return of him getting rid of some of the Troupe members. The ship is on the way to the false Dark Continent right now, so maybe he can set up a place there where Hisoka and Chrollo can face off. And it will be hot on that place on that day.
But it can also be that because of Kurapika, Hisoka and Chrollo will be alone together in the Black Whale ship, whether intentional or not. But how can it be a hot day in a ship, especially later when they can no longer go out of the premises due to the unpredictable travel conditions?
When the whole ship is in chaos and on fire. Now that will be wild, but not impossible.
"The false fourth moon will be torn away from the calendar."
In Yorknew arc, the false fourth moon was Hisoka, the former #4 of the Spiders. His allegiance to the spider was never true and he was willing for the existence of the Spider to perish.
But the one to replace him was Kalluto Zoldyck, the youngest member of the famous Zoldyck family.
As of now, it looks like he is getting along with them, and based on chapter 377 and 380, he has found some sort of comfort with them.
I mean look at Kalluto sitting near Machi, whom I previously analyzed based off of her speech language as someone considerate to kids.
Tumblr media
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 377 (Official English Translation)
And how she is reacting when Illumi revealed to Mizai about everyone in the Phantom Troupe onboard the ship.
Tumblr media
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 380 (Official English Translation)
Even so, how can Kalluto be a false fourth moon?
Because he is a Zoldyck.
At some point in the current arc, he will have to choose between the Zoldyck family and the Spiders, considering the fact that Illumi is most likely in cahoots with Hisoka, who is trying to kill the Spiders and have a rematch with Chrollo, perhaps.
And he will definitely choose the family. Because before he is a Phantom Troupe member, he is a Zoldyck. Knowing the dynamics of the family and all of that, I think he will have no choice but to choose his own biological family over the one he found some comfort with. Thus, he has always been a false fourth moon, just like Hisoka.
"With this, those that remain will become 6."
Whether this happens before, during, or after the Hisoka and Chrollo being alone together on a hot day, it doesn't matter. I predict that there will be six members of the Phantom Troupe left, including Chrollo.
And you know what's funny, I think the ones who will have to die are Shizuku and Bonolenov, as I stated previously.
Because:
Tumblr media
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 397 (Unofficial English Translations)
The ones who will be left will be the original Phantom Troupe members.
Originally, there are nine members. But three of them are already dead: Pakunoda, Uvogin and Shalnark.
When Shizuku and Bonolenov dies, the ones who will be left will be Nobunaga, Phinks, Feitan, Franklin, Machi, and Chrollo.
The original six.
I really think that if this will be the case, then we have a big potential or two when it comes to exploring the dynamics and relationships between the founding members. We have already witnessed the tension and conflict between the founding members when Chrollo was kidnapped by Kurapika back in Yorknew.
So this time it'll be interesting if we see it once again. And it'll be better if six of them are alive, but Chrollo is alone with Hisoka and they are far away from the other five. It'll be another dilemma for them once again. Do you save Chrollo or do you live on and keep the Spider alive?
And it'll be more interesting if the other people's predictions that the Hei-Ly family had something to do with Sarasa's death and the six founding members finds out about this and ends up being face to face with the benefactor.
These two events can tie into the Spiders' backstory a lot with the former possibly igniting or making them recollect the strong bonds that existed back on that day in the forest and the latter resolving the grudge and guilt they have been carrying since childhood.
Also, having the six founding members dying at the same time or together can be melancholic and sorrowful. A tragic and sad ending, but which provided them resolution and catharsis.
Tumblr media
And that's about it. I hope you enjoyed reading my predictions. This post has been in my drafts since the day before my birthday last year and I just completed it in one sitting. Finally, I posted something decent after a long time.
Anyways, I'll go to sleep now. It's like 2 or 3 am here right now.
Until then.

Note
With that Phantom Troupe backstory coming out, do you think it's more or less likely that Hisoka will succeed in killing them all? (Bc of that trope of giving a backstory before killing a character). The whole setup of this arc screams that at least a few more members are going to die, but do you think there's a chance for a TPK?
Alas, I do not know what a TPK is! :(
I don't necessarily think the point of this flashback is For the Sadz Before Deaths. I generally think that's pretty mediocre writing, and Togashi's better than that. This flashback has a far weightier feel to it than just a cheap sucker punch, in other words.
Tumblr media
I think the point of this flashback is to again establish Chrollo as Kurapika's shadow, and to point towards the likely resolution of this arc. If what @aspoonofsugar theorizes is true (which someone suggested to me way back in 2018 too), and I think there's a pretty damn good chance of this, then we've got an entirely new perspective on Chrollo... albeit one with hints along the way. Either way, the set-up of this flashback, with it focusing on Chrollo, seems to indicate that the point of it is to make the audience ponder about revenge and to see Chrollo and Kurapika as two sides of the same coin.
We know what made Kurapika lose his idealism. What made Chrollo lose his? That's what this flashback seems destined to show us. If the Sheila theory is true, it's probably the final domino... I doubt it was the beginning. We're probably about to see what those disappointments were that turned him into such a hardline utilitarian to where he'll find his identity with his troupe, but not ever say he loves them like he did before.
Tumblr media
All that said: Hisoka is absolutely not going to kill all of them. In addition to what I said above, that's just not how Togashi tends to solve issues in his stories; the journeys matter more. What is more likely is that Chrollo and Kurapika almost certainly are going to have to work together to escape the boat; Kurapika will have to choose between the living (Oito and Woble) and the dead (Pairo's eyes), and Chrollo will have to choose between the people he has left and revenge.
However, I do think it is very likely some Troupe members are about to die. Chrollo kind of has to lose more people to get the wakeup call, because right now he's all about revenge. The ironic thing is that Hisoka's actions are calling Chrollo on his precise hypocrisy: the fact that he truly loves the Spiders. Is he going to choose to save them, or continue revenge and lose everything?
Considering he's Kurapika's shadow and you integrate with your shadow, you don't kill it, my guess is that as Chrollo loses more members and more stability, and comes into contact with Kurapika (who will probably also find out about Sheila, if that's what really happened), he'll eventually decide to choose to live. Kurapika will probably choose the same. But they'll only get to live if they integrate (aka work together).
If you want to know whom I'm currently worried about, any Spider except Chrollo, Kalluto, and Illumi. Those kids all have plot armor.
But my concerns are primarily for Shizuku, Bololenov, and Franklin, because they are far less developed, and Nobunaga, because he's gotten a lot of focus in recent chapters. See, Nobunaga, Machi, Feitan, and Phinks have more ties to the philosophical debate raging inside Chrollo--they, along with Paku, were the five who debated whether or not to save Chrollo from Kurapika back in Yorknew. Machi and Nobunaga represent Chrollo's genuine care, while Feitan and Phinks represented his utilitarianism.
Tumblr media
But Nobunaga's focus lately really does concern me, and I wonder if how he might die will prove important for Chrollo making this decision...

It's Christmas eve... And because I love you all I have not one, but two treats to share for all my lovely hxh friends/followers (esp my fellow Illumi and Hisoka simps)
Tumblr media
This is not one of the treats I've promised, but the gif just reminded me of this, so STORY TIME.
The first time I watched the Greed Island arc, based on the intro sequence alone, I fully believed that the plot was going to be as follows: Bisky (who I thought was a fellow child/tween) would befriend Gon and it would be obvious to us as the viewers that Gon would develop a crush on her.
Killua meanwhile would become increasingly jealous/insecure thinking he's been replaced as Gon's best friend. I thought the arc would be about Gon and Killua learning how to navigate this new hurdle in their friendship.
Based on the above gif, I also believed that, HISOKA of all people would be one to explain to the boys that what Gon felt for Bisky was a crush and not a friendship and it didn't have to impact his friendship with Killua...
I mean, I'm glad we got the arc we did, especially the dodgeball scene. And I'm super glad that Bisky ended up being a wayyy more interesting and plot relevant character than I first presumed. But, I do feel a little bit cheated that we didn't get agony aunt Hisoka... I think about this terrible misunderstanding every time I use/see this gif.

My theory is that Hisoka's mother did not die, but rather abandoned him or simply changed drastically towards him for supposedly no reason. Perhaps she said a reason that Hisoka never knew about.
What makes me think this is his "Elastic Love" ability, in which he can attach and detach himself from people whenever he wants (of course, this is also true for objects, but in this case only the ability to attach himself to people is relevant).
Not only this, but also his phrases in the anime like "one minute is enough for a treasure to become trash" and "love and hate are two sides of the same coin".
I speak specifically about his mother based on the One-Shot by the author of Tokyo ghoul. There, after showing a trick to Moritonio, when asked about who taught him that, he replies that his mother was a skilled woman and had taught him. The important part for my reasoning is the "was", as if she was no longer part of his life (actually this is obvious, considering that he was found alone, almost dead from being beaten in the street).
All this makes me think that his mother was good to him at some point, even taught him tricks, but as I said at the beginning, at least in Hisoka's mind, at some point she suddenly started treating him differently, cruelly.
I will go further in this crazy theory and dare to say that her different behavior towards Hisoka was his fault. I believe he was already a child with strange quirks, which eventually escalated into the Hisoka we know today, but perhaps the older he grew the more evident his strange characteristics became. It is possible that he did something that was normal to him, but morally reprehensible.
I didn't proofread this, sorry for the english mistakes

Yesterday I saw this tweet about how Renko gives off Hisoka vibes and the kid HisoMachi brainrot were back again 🥹
Tumblr media
Imagine Hisoka is from Kirimori and Renko is his relative. Imagine Machi meets him there. Imagine they're forbidden to be friends because Hisoka can't learn about nen -- in Kirimori, only women are allowed to, but he'll leave someday to learn alone. Imagine she becomes friends with him anyway because she's intrigued about the boy. Imagine them playing in secret and being little troublemakers. Just imagine 😭
Thank you @vr2312 for sharing this brainrot with me.

@haidyx20 It’s easier to answer this here than in the comment section if I’m honest, but the short answer is we don’t know.
The long answer is that there are a few fan theories out there about it, but some people (including myself) think he just used bungee gum and texture surprise to replace his injuries. Think of it like plastic surgery or prosthetics, but with his nen abilities. The amount of nen alone to maintain it would be incredible, but there’s also a running theory that his power is like 100x what it was before due to the post-death nen thing so it may not be as taxing as it would have been before.
There’s also the theory that he did heal it based on his conversation with Machi by saying he didn’t need her healing ability anymore, but that would be taking the entire conversation at face value. However counter to that, you see him launch himself much faster from his missing leg a few panels later when he goes to attack Shalnark/Kortopi.
As to how he’s able to walk, his bungee gum can be as thick as rubber which could hold him up with enough effort. Rubber can be pretty dense and not as jiggly as you would think if there’s enough of it mashed together. It’s also springy/spongy so he could with some practice walk.
I don’t know if you’re up to date with the manga so mild spoilers for the current chapters, but one of the new chapters shows Hisoka starting to take a card from someone but he suddenly retracts his hand as if he remembers he cannot grasp/hold anything with it. It’s the same hand he would’ve used would’ve been the one that had its fingers blown off from the fight with Chrollo, and current theory is he isn’t actually able to use his fingers despite having the appearance of his hand.
A leg would be easier to fool/manipulate because all he has to do is use it as a spring. But really in the end, we just don’t know and Togashi has not clarified it as of yet. For all we know, Hisoka is powerful enough to actually heal himself now. That would make him an incredibly scary threat.
Anyway, I’m sorry for the long-winded explanation but I hope it helps clear up the confusion somewhat. I look forward to seeing more of him and find out what’s really going on. :)
