anything derek. absolutely anything derek. i beg i plead i love your derek content so much i am in the trenches out here
-- You know what Derek will do for you? Absolutely anything, and that is a fact.
-- I think he would have thought just so much about being with you for those ten years he was in love with you before he ever actually said anything. He would have imagined moving in together, proposing, getting married etc. so much. He would have imagined the smaller things too, like what it would be like to spend holidays together, what it would be like to wake up to you every morning. But what really gets him are the tiny itty bitty things he never could have imagined without actually being with you.
-- Like maybe you do some quirky, cute little thing in your sleep. Or maybe you talk or sing to yourself when you're alone and eventually you start to do it around him too, when you get comfortable. You'd develop sweet routines for so many things, and those are some of his favorite moments.
-- I know I've said this one before, but he's warm, like his body is really warm all the time. So he is SO cozy to cuddle with, which is good because he is a big cuddler! You'll be together for years, decades even, and he'll never take for granted how good it feels to fall asleep with you in his arms.
-- Also the best hugger in the world, to the point where everyone knows it. Strong arms give good hugs.
-- Sings a lot! Because the thing is that while he's always comfortable with you, after Step 4 when you finally get together, then a while after that once you establish a relationship and a routine and it starts to sink in for him that he gets to have this life with you, he's going to feel so free and happy and light, more than he ever has before. So yeah, he's going to sing at the top of his lungs when you're driving somewhere, or cooking dinner together, etc. And it's going to be very very cute.
-- More freckle propaganda. Derek has freckles.
-- I know what GB said, but the sex drive is high, come on. He's absolutely fine if you don't have as high of a drive as he does, and obviously he would never make any kind of remark about it whatsoever, but if you're down, he's down. Pretty much always.
-- Like he goes out for a run and comes home, it got hot and he got all sweaty so he took his shirt off. So he walks in the door in his little shorts and sneakers and all glistening with sweat, you tease him about being gross and he hugs you (if you still have to take a shower, he wouldn't be rude about it) and then ... you know.
-- Would carry you like a princess to bed every damn day of his life. It doesn't matter how big you are, what gender, anything, he's gonna scoop you up in his arms because he likes to feel strong and he likes to hold you close.
-- Take that man to the boardwalk and take him often. Take him to the park, the water one and the regular one. Let him do all the fun, carefree things he should have been able to do as a child without the stress of having to take care of his little brothers. If he wants to ride the rollercoaster three times in a row then you let him, do you hear me.
-- Would do his best to win you a prize at the boardwalk too, and he'd be good at it.
-- Make out on the Ferris wheel too, go nuts.
-- No one is perfect, but Derek is.

✖️✖️✖️ 2x01 Little Green Men
The one where... the X-Files are closed and Scully follows Mulder to an observatory in Puerto Rico.
Best: The reveal that Mulder is recording his observations on the body for Scully, that he wants to be investigating this with her so much that he’s talking to her through the recorder, that he’s trying to find real evidence to bring back to her. And at the end when he tells her he still has her, ugh...
Worst: Mulder’s bangs, not a good look.

Rewatch Thoughts:
I would actually rate this episode higher this rewatch, I really enjoyed it. The case/development of the mytharc is pretty minimal. This episode is really Mulder’s arc from depressed, with no X-Files, no Scully (in his mind) to having a revived sense of purpose, realizing that he can still move forward and that Scully will be at his side. I guess I can see why Mulder was pushing Scully away at first - in his mind she was assigned to the X-Files, it’s not her quest, what are they if they’re not partners, it’s too dangerous - so he pushes her away before she can leave him. Lotta emotional labor on Scully’s part at this point in their partnership.
Mid-Episode Thoughts:
Ah, a classic Mulder voiceover intro.
So many sunflower seeds on the floor. Gross, Mulder.
Mulder’s bangs of sadness (and later of sweatiness). The stubble on the other hand I can live with.
Scully’s hint of a smile at seeing him in the hallway. And then he just brushes past her...
Their clandestine meeting in the parking garage. She just wants to talk to him, to know that he’s all right. He’s pushing her away, saying it’s too dangerous, but really he’s depressed, isolating himself. He needs evidence - Scully taught him that. Her caress of his head before she walks away...
I read a line in a fic recently that made think that maybe Mulder doesn’t like his first name not because it’s weird (Mulder doesn’t really shy away from being weird) but because that’s what Samantha called him, that’s what he hears her screaming in his nightmares.
Mulder’s unbuttoned shirt.
So I guess Mulder does interact with real life women other than Scully?
Scully tries SPOOKY, SAMANTHA, and the winner: TRUSTNO1. The appearance of the fish tank! Giant trench coat sleeves come in handy when you need to hide evidence.
George Hale. Is Mulder deliberately leaving a trail for Scully to find? I don’t think he expects her to look for him... But he also isn’t surprised when she shows up.
Mulder’s cut off tshirt.
He’s recording his observations on the body for Scully! Love this reveal.
The red light is just like his nightmare of Samantha’s abduction, but I don’t really remember this element showing up again.
The touching. The sweaty touching. And intense staring. And heavy breathing.
He reaches his arm out to brace her in the truck as they escape, the way my mom always does when the car stops abruptly.
Skinner kicks CSM out of his office. But he also kinda enjoys sending Mulder back to his shitty assignment. Can you imagine having to be Mulder’s boss?
Mulder still has her! He’s letting himself believe that now. And his hair looks a little better. Coincidence?

This is a Wasteland, My Only Retreat.
The faint roar of the vehicle engine rumbled lowly as you sat in the driver seat of your car, both of your hands resting softly on the steering wheel. Your annoyed sigh released itself as your head turned to look at the sleek folder that laid in the seat next to you. You smirked to yourself as you averted your eyes back to the rusted standing building in front of you. The allure of the night caused the whole scenery to match the mood of this dreadful evening. Your eyes scanned over the area surrounding, four black cars parked to the left side of the building, the whole estate heavily guarded with about fifteen men, the soldiers. You stared for a bit before looking up to your rearview mirror and allowing your eyes to observe you. It was almost cliché the way you looked for the part you played. The way your features could kill a man alone and you knew that better than anybody. Reaching your hand into your purse that sat on your lap, you pulled out an item that was set to complete such a look of power, your blood red lipstick. You moved closer to the rearview to get a better view as you applied a layer of the tint on your lips, bringing your character to life. You rubbed your lips together and cleaned around the edges before your eyes naturally diverted to a dark figure walking towards your car. You groaned in annoyance as you unbuckled yourself and grabbed the folder to the right of you. Turning your keys in the ignition off, you opened the car door, throwing your legs over onto the pebble ground, where the heels of your black boots met. Your whole appearance could have blended into how dark the night became as you wore black jeans and a black sweater, paired with your favorite black trench coat. The only color that could be determined was the deep red on your lips and the silver gun that hung by your side.
“YAH Y/N!” the voice of the figured called out and you heard the thick accent of an Australian native come through
You slammed the car door shut behind you as you inhaled the cool freshnes of the autumn night. Shifting your direction to the young man walking closer to you. He had a slim figure, soft blonde strands that fit his small face and hints of freckles that coated him. On a usual day, he would be smiling and spreading his contagious positivity. But on nights like this, he was different. We were different.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” He asked sternly, voice low and accent deep. You walked towards him with the folder in your hand.
“Is that anyway to greet your elder, Felix?” You smiled back playfully, shoving the folder into his chest. He grabbed a hold of it flipping through the contents before looking back at you.
“How did you find out?” he sighed in defeat.
“Well, I heard you caught a mouse,” You said as you started to walk towards the building, with Felix following, “the cat wanted to play.”
“You shouldn’t be here, Y/N, you know you can be comprom-”
“Cut the bullshit Felix,” You waved your hand, pushing away the topic. “Just tell me what you know.”
Felix groaned and you looked over to him, stopping both of your tracks, “He was one of the associates. Caught taking pictures and asked too many questions.”
“Is that why the soldiers are here?” You asked, arms crossing over your body.
“Mhm. We don’t know which associate can be trusted, and didn't want to create more trouble.”
You squinted in confusion at his statement and Felix bit his lip as if he was debating to reveal anymore.
“We think he might be working with ‘Y’.”
Y. The alias name of a mystery person who has had multiple failed attempts in trying to reel you out. Or reel out whoever they can in all honesty. Pathetic and yet intriguing, as you and your family have been on the hunt for this mystery person for the past 6 months. Your interest spiked up to the new found information.
You laughed sinisterly as you turned back to walk towards the entrance of the building. “God, I love a good Friday night.”
“Y/N, I’m serious. You really shouldn’t be here. We don’t know the multitude that ‘Y’ is working on,” Felix pleaded.
“So we find out.” You stated.
“We are. YOU just can’t be here because Min-“ you stopped in front of the door to the warehouse and you turned around to Felix who cut himself off from finishing his sentence.
“Because what, Felix.” You gritted.
Felix sighed and looked at you.
“Minho doesn’t want you here”
You clicked your tongue and scoffed in disbelief at the sentence. You felt the blood bubble in your veins as the adrenaline from anger rushed through you.
“Last time I checked, Minho wasn’t my fucking boss.”
You marched up to the warehouse doors and pushed it open. Felix following you as you both walked into the dark and musty place, smells of decaying animals and blood surrounded you immediately, which could have bothered any normal individual, but the smell was too natural for you.
Straight ahead was a dim light shining on a profound scene. Your sight was captured by a man tied to a chair, hands cuffed behind him, blood hanging from the ends of his hair dripping down his cheeks and arms. Barely hanging on to whatever life he may have left, he raises his head to a man who you assumed performed such a violent assault. The man’s brown hair was sweat ridden and he wore his white dress shirt with sleeves rolled up. On his hand sparkled a set of brass knuckles that he wiped off with his handkerchief. Walking closer, you witness the man as he swung his forearm back and connected another blow to the captured man's face, earning splatter of blood to the floor and a grunt from the victim. You scoffed softly as you approached such a disappointing scene.
If it weren’t for the loud clicks of your heels to suggest your arrival, it could have been the dark demeanor you had when you came into the lit area and the man looked at you, first in surprise and then annoyance. It was hard to admit, but he was attractive, his muscles bore through his shirt and pants. His face was one that could ruin a woman. His dark sweaty hair stuck to his forehead from the work he put in for the night. He scoffed when he saw you and you crossed your arms over your chest and smiled at him.
His eyes switched his gaze to Felix who approached behind you.
“You had... one job.” Stepping forward and raising his finger to emphasize Felix’s one job of the night, implying that it was to make sure you weren’t there.
Felix bowed his head in an apologetic manner and you laughed as you looked down at the floor and the back to the man.
“You’ve been relieved of your duties for the night Minho, you can go.”
He laughed at you and came closer, “I’m not going anywhere.”
“It wasn’t a suggestion.” You stepped closer to him.
Minho paused and looked at you as you held his gaze sternly. He finally let up, cursing in the air, understanding the consequences of disobeying you.
Minho turned to grab his coat and walked away calling out for Felix to come with him.
You breathed out in content and removed your coat. The man sitting in the chair raised his head slowly as he had heard your heels come closer to him. You grabbed his bloody chin and forced his head up to look at you as you examined to damage Minho had done.
“Tsk tsk tsk, he really did a number in your face.” You let go of his chin and he hung his head low again.
“Who are you?”
“Who am I?” You smiled at the question asked, “I can be whoever you want me to be.”
The man raised his head slightly as he saw you walk over and grab an empty chair, pulling it to sit across from him. You sat down and crossed your leg over the other one and pulled out a box of cigarettes from your back pocket, along with a lighter. You pulled a cigarette out with your mouth and lit it as you inhaled deeply. The smoke burning the back of your throat, almost sobering you for a second.
“Who am I?” you reiterated, “ Well truthfully, I don’t think that’s as important. I actually came here cause I wanted to get to know you more”
“I already told the man before that I don’t know anything.”
You sucked in air as you pulled the cigarette out from your lips “See I could believe that, however, I know that’s not true, right... Danny?”
You paused as you saw no reaction, “ … or is it better to call you...SungHo.”
He looks at you in immediate terror and you smile, inhaling another drag.
“How do you-“
“Kim SungHo, father to two beautiful young girls, Mina, 3, and Hyerin, 5. A loving husband to Kim Ji Hye for 10 years. Congratulations, your anniversary was last month right?” You asked innocently as you watch the man in front of you begin to widen his eyes to your knowledge.
You pulled another drag from the cancer stick, “A former professional photographer. You had your own business that went bankrupt, right? So you opted into your dangerous pleasures to feed your girls, huh?”
“I was just doing what I can,” He mumbled.
“Life in prison without parole. I heard they were even considering the death penalty for the men they found, men like you, right SungHo?” You scooted closer to him as you watched a tear roll down his face.
“Did you like taking photos of those girls? Did you like watching them beg for their lives?”
He cried and choked on his own tears as you stood up and flicked the cigarette to the ground and stomped on it to put it out.
“Tell me who you work for SungHo.”
“I can’t” he choked out.
“Oh SungHo, you don’t want to make me mad. I’m worse than that man before. Way worse.”
Sungho just cried and you grew intolerable to the minutes that past as you waited for information. You knew that beating him the way Minho did was foolish. So you did the one thing none of those bastards could ever. You grabbed your gun and cocked it back aiming for his head as he cried softly. You notice the lack of adrenaline, the almost inviting acceptance he was having to a moment of death you could implicate. So you moved your aim towards his groin.
“STOP! STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” he screamed.
“Tell me who you work for Sungho, my patience is at an all time low.”
“I DON'T KNOW HIS NAME, HE WENT BY Y!”
“What did he want?”
“HE WANTED TO KNOW IF THE LEE FAMILY WAS STILL OPERATING, HE ASKED ME TO TAKE PICTURES AND FIND OUT WHO THE BOSS IS. TOLD ME TO BECOME AN ASSOCIATE TO DO IT!”
“When’s the next time you’ll see him?” He paused and you lowered your gun and fired a gunshot right into his crotch. He screamed in pain and you aimed your gun back at his head.
“ANSWER ME!”
“HE DIDN’T SEE ME, HE CALLED ME. TOLD ME TO GO TO THE TRAIN STATION AND DROP OFF MY CAEMRA BY THE HOUSE WITH THE MAILBOX!” he cried out as he looked down and saw the blood dripping from his crotch. “PLEASE, HE SAID HE’D KILL MY FAMILY IF I DON’T DO THIS! PLEASE!”
You stepped back and relaxed yourself as you had found all the information you needed. You stood back looking at him as your mind thought back to the kids he had. You can’t protect them y/n. You watched as Sungho cried out in the pain as he bled. Your curiosity got the better of you in the moment as you twirled your gun.
“Did you find out who the boss was?”
Sungho breathed out heavily,“I took pictures of the man before you.”
You smiled in disbelief, “and you believe him to be the boss of the Lee Family?”
“The associates say that he is the only one they have seen and fits the description of the son of Lee Won-Shik.” He looked up at you and your face went pale.
That name. One that you knew too well. Your father’s name.
You aimed the gun back at his crotch and fired another bullet in anger. SungHo screamed and gritted as blood began to pool from his groin area, surely ending whatever reproduction system he had left.
“I TOLD YOU EVERYTHING.”
“I know, it’s a shame.”
The pain you inflicted caused you to wonder how painful it could have been. You just watched him bleed out and scream as he begged you for help. You turned and saw the camera lying on the table and you walked over to pick it up. You scrolled through pictures of Minho leaving offices and greeting people, people who worked for your family for years. Any leakage of this information could be detrimental. The whole thing put a sour taste in your mouth.
“Unfortunately Sungho, you won’t be dropping off this camera tomorrow.”
“NO, NO, PLEASE!”
“It’s a shame. A man who watches girls younger than your own daughters be taken from their families and exploited in such a distasteful manner… makes me sick.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” You walked over and you cocked your gun back again as you aimed the gun to his head.
“Also, Lee Minho doesn’t run this family,”
You turn to Sungho who was crying in pain and pulled the trigger of your gun watching his head fall back as blood and pieces of his head splattered, coating the wall and floor behind you both. You move away and placed your gun back in your holder as you turned back to grab your coat, walking toward the exit. Leaving Sungho’s dead body to bleed out.
“I Do.”
**********
Outside, you see four men talking as you closed the large door behind you. Their views shifted on you and you watched as Minho walked up to you in anger.
“Three gunshots. You killed him.” He spat.
“He saw my face.”
“I had everything under control.”
“An interrogation that lasted two hours is your version of under control? What kind of questions did you ask Minho? What kind of camera does he use? Can he get you a deal at Best Buy?” you mocked.
“Like he told you anything! You were in there for 30 minutes and now we have a dead man and no information, I bet. I bet you killed him because he disrespected you as a woman! I know that really gets your blood boiling and you act like a deranged child!”
“Do you want a demonstration?” You grabbed your gun and aimed it at him until you hear a yelling from behind Minho.
“GUYS SERIOUSLY.” You turned your eyes to the boy who yelled out at you and sighed as Minho began to relax is demeanor. “We are family, we shouldn’t be fighting like this.”
“Seungmin’s right, we could be in a world of trouble and we need to work together now.” Felix reassured as he walked up to you and Minho and pushed your gun down.
You walked up to the group as Minho avoided eye contact with you. You stood next to Seungmin who was looking at you with caring eyes. You smiled because he was the type to always bring down the heat of conversations and make everyone regroup. Next to you stood a smaller boy, with blue hair. He had a soft fox like face and you smiled at him as he admired you.
“What information did you find?” The younger one asked you and you nodded.
“He worked for ‘Y’ in exchange for immunity to his crime charges to come later this week. That camera is supposed to be delivered tomorrow at the train station on the west side but unfortunately there’s been a delay.” You looked the boys who were nodding their heads all except Minho.
“And I saved both of are asses tonight, Minho. The associates are talking a lot among themselves, they believe you are the alleged son of my father. He has pictures of you meeting with secret partners. Had I kept him alive, our secret would have been revealed and the Hwang family would had found you, not just ‘Y’.” You informed.
“Thank you.” he muttered.
“Everyone report tomorrow 9 AM sharp. Seungmin put together a strategy plan for going forth on the ‘Y’ issue. Felix dispose of the body near the train tracks, make sure you make a note for ‘Y’ to see. Minho,-”
Minho looked at you carefully having calm down from the interaction earlier, “Kill all the associates. None of them can be trusted.”
The boys all parted was and the youngest member stood by your side looking to you innocently. “What would you like me to do?”
“I need you to go find Sungho’s family and bring them to safety tonight. Don’t tell the others about it Jeongin, keep your tracker on. Take your soldiers with you.” Jeongin nodded and you hugged him close as he went off.
You walk towards your car and your phone dings in your coat pocket. You pulled it out and read the message that flashed across the screen.
“Just got on to my connecting flight, see you soon ❤️-HJ”
You smiled and put your phone back into your pocket, as you opened and sat in your car, ready to go home.
*************
You opened the oven and was blasted with a rush of heat as you removed the roasted potatoes in the pan and placed it on your stove top. The sound of the ongoing sizzle was still coming from the potatoes drowned out by the soft playing of jazz that you had in the background on your speaker. To the left of your view was the piece of steak you had searing on your pan. It had been a while since you had a nice home cooked dinner. It had been a while since you two have eaten together like this. It had been a while in general. Since you last saw him, leaving you a kiss, one that you still remember fleshed on your lips, and watched him drive away. Just the thought of you two being in the same room made your stomach flip. He was captivating in the sense that he could make you drown in his aura and remove everything around you. It was like you were light like a feather, floating around him, and he was the gentle hand that caught you every time. You blushed to yourself, deep in thought as you began to place the food on the plates you had grabbed from the cabinet above you, remembering how incapable you were when reaching all the dishware in your house, becoming grateful for the way he towered you and helped you in these moments.
You just missed him. And it was difficult for you to admit to yourself that he made you feel secured. There was always fear when you thought of him and how you felt towards this man only to be reminded of how deep of a hole you dug for yourself. Your heart ached every time you had to remind yourself what your true mission was, what the point of this relationship meant. And yet, you pushed it all away. You turned an eye to the ratchet truth because you needed more time. It was a constant fight between heart and mind. Playing a double character all this time exhausted you even when you felt like you were completely and unapologetically yourself in front of this man.
You carried the plates over to your small dining room table and placed them at each end. Stepping back, you absorbed the smallness of the dining room area in your home. You laughed as you took in the lack of luxury in the space, and the lack of luxury in general. You lived comfortably, you never felt drowned in bills, you never went hungry. You had a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in. And yet, if anyone were to ever find out about your true income, they’d wonder why you opted to live in a one story house on the north side of town. You were able to buy the whole damn country if you wanted to. You were able to live a life of luxury and protection, but this is what he wanted. He wanted to show you that he is not who he really is and you acted like you didn’t know what he did, who he was. All these years, he played a character too. That’s how you knew that he loved you the same, if not more. You knew that in order to be with you, he had to tell you, because you had to know what it meant when you took his last name. But in his secrecy, you saw the need of protecting you from a world you already knew so much about and also the aching to hide away and be normal.
You sighed as you reached over to the bottle of wine you had on the table. You unscrewed the bottle and grabbed your glass as you poured yourself a decent amount of red lush. You raised the glass to your lips as you walked slowly to the mirror on the back wall of your dining room. You looked at yourself, watching how the simple silk black dress hung loosely down your chest. Smiling, as the silk draped over your breasts teasingly and stopping just inches from your knees. Your hand caressed your collarbone, down to your chest as you rose your other arm to bring the glass of wine back to your lips. You drifted your eyes from the mirror to your drink as you took another sip of the sweet liquid. It was almost alarming the way your attention was brought back to the mirror when a figure appeared in your peripheral. Your eyes widened in shock as your breath sucked in rather quickly. You looked at the man through the mirror, as he stood long and tall. Dressed in a pair of freshly pressed black slacks, a white long sleeved satin shirt, and blonde straight hair that was tied in his most comfortable form. Half up with two strands caressing over his face. His complexion was such a creamy tone and had a natural airbrush effect. His thick pink lips were painted on his face with intent to make a woman go insane. His eyes were sharp hiding his dark orbs that made your heart flutter.
Ethereal would be an understatement to describe him. He simply was created by all the gods.
He smiled softly at your longing gaze through the mirror, sticking his hands in both of his slack pockets, tongue drifting over his bottom lip naturally.
“I didn’t hear you come in,” you managed to choke out as you turned around swiftly to now face him.
“Should I have knocked?” The sound of his voice was honey and danced through your ears. It almost made you shudder. You exhaled a breath at his comment as he began taking small steps towards you, looking at the mess you made in the kitchen. “What’s all of this?”
“I made dinner.” You sat the glass of wine on the table as you felt your skin tremble with anticipation as he made his way over to you.
“What did you make?” He was so close, voice dropping volume as he walked closer to you.
“I-I made s-steak and p-potatoes,” closer.
“Mmm,” he hummed and got closer.
“and s-some salad-d…” closer.
Until there he was, in front of you. Eyes finally connected, his natural scent and cologne invading your sense of smell, you wanted to drown in it. The heat of his body could be felt on your own as he kept taking steps, making you stumble back until your back was against the wall. He removed a hand from his pocket and placed his fingertips on your forearm, brushing softly, slowly and teasingly dragging his fingertips up your arm as you felt goosebumps form.
“I thought maybe we could, sit and eat..”
Fingertips now close your neck, grazing over your shoulder blade. He tilted his head and his eyes looked down at your body and slowly came back to match yours. He hummed at your words and you eagerly let him stroke over your sensitive neck. It felt like years since you’ve been touched and the thought of him taking you, all of you, flooded not just your mind, but your core.
“That all sounds very nice but,” he paused as his fingers slid up to your chin pulling it gently to face him as he started down at you. He was now centimeters over your face, you were convinced you could already feel his lips graze yours. “I’m actually craving something a bit more….sweet.”
You were almost in euphoria, your mind was clouded with anticipation and desire. Lust was dripping down your legs and you were falling down a hole. Everything around you went black and it felt like it was just you and him. You barely heard the words that came out of his mouth.
“there’s ice cream in the freez-“
“Just kiss me.”
You nodded frantically as he pushed into you against the wall. One of his hands slamming against the wall, the other wrapped around your waist as he brought you closer to his craving body. You had your arms wrapped around his neck pulling him deeper. His lips molded over yours in such an artistic way. It was simply amazing the way you two fit into each other, as if the heavens created you from the same strand of souls. One in body, spirit, and mind, you both became. You longed for the taste of him and it was as if on cue, he connected his tongue with yours, deepening your kiss. There was so much fire and passion, it was as if you two were begging for this. You moaned into him, feeling the vibrations against his lips as he pulled away from you to catch his breath. Eyes hooded, orbs dark and the light of the room stinging your sight as he moved his head to pepper kisses on your bare neck. Your body responded to him by tilting your head to the side and he used his free arm to slip down the back of your thigh, hiking your leg to his hip. The wetness of his tongue coating the hidden veins of your neck as he nipped softly, earning the sounds of your moaning. You felt his hard aching dick push near your core as his fingertips brushed further up your dress, barely touching where you needed him the most. He pulled back, panting and eyebrow cocked up at you as you licked your lips craving his delicious taste again.
“No underwear?” You felt your blood run cold as you remembered your lack of undergarments under the dress. You knew this was how you two would end up but your mind had erased every detail you had planned the moment he revealed himself to you. You just smiled seductively to him as he growled.
“I know my baby girl didn’t think she was going to tease me tonight.”
In one fluid motion, you were lifted off the floor, legs around his torso as he carried you to your kitchen island sitting you on the cold surface, your bare ass touching the marble and you hissed at the sudden feel. He wasted no time pushing all your dishware away and you heard the sounds of metal crashing to the ground, as he made room for you to lay.
“Normally you would have been punished for that,” he uttered referring to your attempt to edge him on. He pushed you back so you could lie on the counter, you grunt as you felt the shivers down your spine. He pushed the fabric of your dress up, revealing your dripping heat. He nearly groaned as he saw the way you glisten and wasted no time taking his long finger to drag up your slit. You arched your back in delight as your pussy throbbed painfully for him. He leaned over your body, lips close to your ear as he let a low hot breath.
“But I’m fucking starving.”
You watched as he leaned down your body and bent his knees to make himself align face to face with your core. He never broke your gaze as he did so and you hitched a breath as you felt his velvet lips kiss your inner thigh.
“Don’t tease,” you moaned out involuntarily. It was all too much, your mind was so foggy and you heard his low chuckled.
“I have to savor every part of my meal, babe” his hot breath hit your wet lips and your breathing heightened. It was agonizing.
A sigh of relief and a cry from your lips rang out as he dragged his long hot tongue over your slit, collecting every drop of arousal you produced and laying flat against your throbbing clit. Your hands immediately rested on his head, fingers intermingling with his soft hair. You pulled yourself up in reaction as he lapped you sensually, drinking you, eating you. You were a mess, eyes shut and rolled to the back of your lids. Intoxicated by the way he performed. He looked up at you as you cried and heaved, sweating beads forming from the edges of your hairline. Profanities slipping from your mouth with every movement he made against you. You felt his tongue part your slit and insert inside of you, lapping all he could, moaning into you. You laid back and groaned, hips bucking up at him to chase more. Licking his way back up to your needy clit, he took the bud into his mouth, sucking and licking it. You felt two of his long digits slip into you with ease and stretching you out.
“Oh my fucking god.” You cried out as you felt him bring you close to your edge. The white hotness built in the pit of your stomach and your legs began to shake. You felt his fingers curl inside you and he lapped deliciously, eyes looking at you as you held on to his head. He smiled as he saw your fucked out face and your mouth was opened, loss of words. He pulled back from your pussy and replaced his ministrations with his thumb as he kept fingering you. Leaning forward he kissed you, your juices coating his face as you tasted yourself on him. He moaned when you arched your self into him and he pulled back to look at you. He knew you wanted to cum. He could feel the way your walls pulsated against his fingers and saw how fast your chest was rising and falling. Licking his lips he came closer your face, forehead resting on yours, one hand now pushing your hips down and the other fucking you into ecstasy.
“Cum for me baby girl.” He pecked your lips softly as you moaned “Cum for daddy.”
Your body spazzed and you cried out to him as he enclosed your cries by kissing you passionately. His fingers slowed down their pace and pumped into you deeper, thumb grazing over your worn out clit, which made you convulse every time he flicked over it. He pulled back and stood over you, pulling his fingers out of your dripping core. You tried to catch your breath as he raised his fingers to his lips and slipped them into his mouth. You watched as he sucked your taste of him. It made your cheeks flush red and grow needy again watching the erotic scene.
“I missed the way you taste,” he smiled at you. You smiled back and found the strength to raise your body to him, sitting up and grabbing his belt loops pulling him closer to you. He bent down and cupped your face as he kissed you again. Your hands fiddling with his belt and buttons of his pants frantically, craving his dick more than ever. You wanted to watch him come undone the way he did with you. As you started to unzip his pants he pulled back and placed his hands over yours. Your innocent eyes looking into his in confusion as he held your hands away from his pants. He knew what you wanted to do, but he had other plans.
“Later, love. Right now I just wanna be inside you” he said softly. You smiled and he resumed, taking his pants off along with his underwear. You watch as his hard dick sprung out of the fabric and you gasped in delight. He wasn’t big or small, but the perfect length, the perfect girth. You licked your lips in the thought of being filled by his cock. He took a hold of his dick and rubbed up and down your slit, coating himself with your cum. You groaned due to your sensitivity and lied back down on the counter again.
“I can’t wait to ruin you” he stated as he inserted himself into you.
“Oh my god, Hyunjin.” You slipped his name out for the first time of the night. His hands slammed on the side of your head, as he hung his head low by your neck, stretching you out. You heard his sighs and groans in your ear. He slipped an arm under your head, pulling you close to him and you gripped his shirt as he whimpered, “Even after all that and your still so fucking tight.”
He snapped his hips into and you yelped. He groaned into your neck and his free hand found yours as he intertwined his fingers with yours.
“Faster, daddy” you whimpered.
He lifted his head to look at you, “You want it faster, love?”
He was pumping in and out of you slow and deep. His body melding into yours and your juices slipping out, pooling under you. You bit your lip at his question and you nodded. He pushed his way up and towered you again, grabbing a hold of your legs firmly. He began to quicken his pace as the room was filled with the slapping of skin. The feeling of him inside you was immaculate and you cupped your breasts through your dress as your mouth slipped out anything that came to mind.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck”
“You like that baby girl, you like when I fuck you like this?”
Your back arching off the counter again as Hyunjin fucked you into another world. It was almost impossible for this man to not bring you into a state of bliss. Each snap of his hip hit you in exquisite ways. His deep grunts and moans sent bubbles in your stomach you watched as he would roll his head back to the pleasure you gave him. The way he spoke to you in moments like this were difficult to overcome. You could cum just by his words alone.
“God y/n you feel so fucking good.”
You could feel the pit of your stomach grow light again. Your walls began to pulsate around him and he could feel that you were chasing your second orgasm of the night. He smirked at you as you began to convulse, feeling the white heat rise to your ears.
“Are you gonna cum again, love? Am I making you feel that good?”
“Yes Hyunjin, fuck, you’re fucking me so good...”
“God dammit.” He growled.
Everything paused for a second as Hyunjin grabbed you off the counter, still inside of you, and he carried you to the dining room, kicking one of the chairs out for him to sit on. He sat down bringing you on top of him, slamming down on his slick member.
“AHH,” you moaned, tossing your head back at the different angle you had of him.
His hands rested in your ass and he leaned into your ear, “fuck yourself to oblivion, love”
You nodded as you rested your hands on his shoulders. You began to rock yourself back and forth on his dick, moaning loud. His hands helped you as you felt your orgasm grow closer and you began to lose your strength.
“Come on baby, give it to me,” you rocked faster and faster and soon you felt your orgasm inch closer. The pit of your stomach churned and the walls of your pussy clenched. “That’s it baby, cum for me.”
You cried out again and you felt your lower half give out to the intensity of your orgasm, you stopped moving for a second as you breathed in heavily trying to catch your breath. Hands still resting on Hyunjin’s shoulders and head hanging low, you felt so light, so spent. Hyunjin gripped your hips and began snapping his hips up into you, your eyes shut tightly as you gripped him, screaming. Your head now resting on his shoulders, body almost limp to the overwhelming orgasm you just had. Hyunjin fucked into you like a mad man, having not reached his high yet. You moaned into his ear at the overstimulation as he grunted to you. You finally felt like you had enough strength to finish him off and you began rocking yourself back to meet his thrusts.
“FUCK” he yelled as you didn’t let up. Your lips found the skin under his ear and you lapped and sucked on it tasting the sweat that formed in his neck from tonight.
“I’m gonna fill you up so fucking good.”
You smiled against his skin as his thrust grew sloppy. Your lips moved to his ear and you placed a soft kiss before whispering, “do it, baby.”
He groaned on cue and whimpered as he snapped his hips into you hard. You felt the warm spurts of his cum hit your walls inside you and you didn’t let up to the way you rocked against him, wanting to milk him dry. He gasped and tried to hold you still, unable to handle the sensations.
“Fuck, oh my god y/n,” he sighed as you stopped overstimulating him and just sat there in the chair with him still inside you.
You raised your head to look at him, both of you fucked out, and you smiled as you leaned in and kissed him again. He cupped your face into the kiss and held you there. The heat radiating of your sweaty bodies and the smell of sex filled the air as the both of you kissed each other with so much need. Pulling back slowly, you rested your forehead against his with your arms around his neck.
“I am never leaving for that long ever again” he stated and you laughed as you moved a piece of his hair off his sweaty forehead, fingertips lightly touching his vein that the top that always came out when he was working hard like that.
“You were gone for a week” you responded and he pecked your lips a few more times and moaned softly.
“A week too long” he smiled and caressed your lower back as you still sat on him. “I missed you too much”
“You’re back now, and I’m not letting you go anywhere” you kissed his nose cutely and he pulled you in for another kiss.
“Sorry about dinner.”
“It’s okay, I’m glad you got what you were craving” he smiled.
“Oh honey, that was just an appetizer” he stated as he lifted you both up off the chair. You felt him grow hard again inside you as you laughed. He kicked his pants off his ankles and began walking you to your living room. Finding your couch, he laid you down and kissed your neck as you giggled. He pulled back and made a goofy smile as you reached your hand to caress his face. He tilted his head to kiss your fingertips softly as you smiled adoringly to him.
“I love you so much y/n” He leaned in to hover over your lips and your heart skipped a beat to his words.
Because you knew that no matter what, you were falling into that hole, deeper and deeper. And you didn’t know if you wanted to escape, no matter the consequences. Because this, here like this, with him was all you wanted. For the rest of your life.
“I love you too Hyunjin.”

fic: (above) a boring little pub
“See where that takes us,” Dani mutters. “Sure. Yeah. Smooth.”
She’d said it like it wasn’t nerve-racking in the least, like she does this sort of thing every day. Get up at the asscrack of dawn, trying to remember how to make a pot of coffee she personally feels out of her mind even considering putting in her own mug. Coffee makes her crazy, spikes her already-wild anxiety straight through the roof; she hasn’t tried to brew the stuff since she was fifteen and making a last-ditch effort to get on Mom’s good side.
And, still, it was the best idea she had for Operation Fix Things With Jamie. Four days laying awake thinking, four days with her brain half on the kids, half on making Jamie smile the next time she turned up at Bly, and this was the best she could do. A cup of coffee that, to her untrained eye, looked like muddy water more than anything else.
And she had handed it to Jamie. Just pasted on a smile and thought, Maybe the stars have aligned, and I woke up good at this today. Whether good at the coffee or the talking to Jamie, she wasn’t quite sure--but soon enough, it appeared the answer was “neither”. Terrific. Jamie, still stung from the other night. Jamie, clearly still not ready to leap off a cliff just because Dani reached out a hand.
Who could blame her? Jamie’s maybe the most patient person Dani has ever met, so long as you’re not shredding her gardens behind her back, but she is still a person. A person who has shown Dani an extremely unexpected willingness to listen, but not so much the desire to be jerked around. Dani gets it. There’s nothing she wants less in the world, than to make Jamie feel like a chew toy to be picked up and discarded again on a whim.
Hence, the world’s most insulting attempt at coffee.
And the invitation.
Dani does not have what a thinking man might call “a strong history” with dating. Part and parcel of being with the same person since you were ten, she supposes, and even if Edmund wasn't...right, he was still simple in his own way. The bravest she ever had to be with Eddie was in daring him to kiss her, a desperate, futile bid toward understanding all the girls at school who sighed and groaned over boys. Dani didn’t get it then, didn’t get it when Eddie closed his eyes and puckered his lips and gave her the most exaggerated dry kiss a human mouth can produce. Didn't get it, either, as he improved over the years, though she was tactically aware of him doing so. On a strictly data-driven level, she watched him get better at kissing, at smiling without nerves, at leading her by the hand wherever he felt they should go. And never, not once, did she feel it.
But one night in a greenhouse, wine in her blood and guilt on her lips, and she gets it now. She gets all of it. Jamie’s hands in her hair, Jamie’s mouth opening beneath her own--a symphony only they could hear.
And then she’d gone and ruined it.
So, now she’s here. Standing awkwardly in a small room in a huge manor, poking through the approximately ten outfits she’s been carting across Europe for half a year. She’d been brave with Jamie in ways she’d never considered with Eddie--brave to take her hand, brave to follow her into the dark, brave to kiss her, brave to ask her out on a...on a..
“Date,” she mutters, holding up a pink blouse and remembering Jamie saying wryly, There we are. She shuts her eyes. “Just a date. Normal person thing to do. Nothing to worry about.”
Jamie’s meant to be back here in--she flips her wrist, winces--less than an hour now. Jamie’s meant to be here to pick her up, like they’re teenagers heading off for a Friday night on the town, and Dani must genuinely be losing her mind. She didn't come here for this. She works with Jamie, works here watching the kids, and if she leaves...if she leaves, who knows what will...
A light rap at the door, so soft, she almost misses it. Hannah, gently smiling.
“Everything all right up here? Haven’t seen you in quite some time...”
“The kids,” Dani interjects. “Of course. I’m so sorry, I’ll just--”
Hannah raises her palms in a placating gestures, slipping into the room with a nearly unearthly grace. Why, Dani wonders helplessly, can’t I be like Hannah? So elegant and serene and sure of every step?
“I did not,” Hannah says, taking her by the shoulders and giving her a sisterly little shake, “come up here to scold you. The children are perfectly fine; Owen is running them through the finer elements of...” Her brow creases, some mix of affection and distaste. “Baking chemistry.”
“Oh.” Dani sinks onto the bed, head in her hands. “Of course. So you’re...”
“Here to make certain you aren’t, perhaps, talking yourself out of a nice evening out on the town?” Hannah supplies. She’s too kind to make fun, at least where this level of anxiety is concerned, and Dani is grateful.
“Not talking myself out, exactly,” she says. “Just trying to decide what to wear. I mean, what does a person wear to a pub in Bly with...with...”
“A perfectly charming young woman whose primary uniform involves denim and potting soil?” Hannah’s voice is just a little too innocent. Dani grins.
“I just don’t want to embarrass myself.”
“I don’t think,” Hannah says carefully, “there’s much chance of embarrassing yourself so badly, she leaves you alone in that pub. Or fails to return to Bly, perhaps, tomorrow?”
Color floods Dani’s cheeks. Her choice of sweater is suddenly the most interesting thing that has ever happened in this room.
“The children will be just fine with us here,” Hannah continues, blessedly ignoring the way Dani’s shoulders go rigid with mortification. “Owen’s already planning to stay, and you know how Flora goes on about sleepovers...”
She’s smiling, but Dani thinks there’s a bit of distance behind her eyes that wasn’t there last week. A beautiful, kind woman, Hannah; it’s strange to see her even the least bit detached from the goings-on of the house.
“You’re sure,” she presses. “I could still tell Jamie--”
“You could both use the night off, I think.” Hannah pats her shoulder lightly. Dani bites her lip.
“Well, I can definitely make sure I’m back before--”
“Lunch tomorrow?” Hannah interjects. “Yes, I quite agree, that would be perfect timing. Rumor has it Owen’s planning a feast fit for kings and very small children.”
Dani is out of arguments, and she suspects Hannah knows it. Her shoulders slump. “Okay. Okay, good. Glad that’s all...handled. Now...”
“This one, I think.” Hannah pats the light purple, her hand possessed of such surety, Dani is briefly envious. “Brings out your eyes nicely.”
She makes her escape with another smile and a very small wave, and Dani gives herself a minute. Just one minute, sitting on the edge of the bed with her face in her hands, to really process the situation. A date. An actual real date with an actual real person she actually likes. Not just likes, but feels...slightly insane around. Insane in the best way. Stomach in knots, fingertips sweaty for no good reason, ears going hot at the sight of her insane.
Jamie kissed her back. Jamie kissed her like there was nothing she’d like more in the world. Jamie kissed her, and then let her go the minute she didn’t seem ready for it, and even with the worst coffee in England as a peace offering, accepted the idea of a drink with her.
Which means...
“The sweater doesn’t matter,” Dani mumbles, feeling very much as though nothing has ever mattered more.
***
Jamie has never quite done this before, either; she thinks of telling Dani so, thinks of taking a quiet moment before leaving Bly Manor to get ready for a date and come back, sweet Lord, she must be out of her mind, to say, “Hey, no worries, Poppins, this is brand-new territory for the both of us.”
But Dani is busy with the kids, and also sort of looks like she’s going to combust should Jamie stand too near her, so she skulks out to the truck alone instead. The date--it is an actual fucking date, I cannot believe she did this to us, what am I going to do on an actual fucking date with this woman?--is slated for seven in the evening. Jamie’s done working at four-thirty.
She spends about an hour of that in-between time showering, picking out a clean t-shirt--nothing too snappy, don’t want to scare Poppins off again--and jeans and a jacket that ensures she’ll look presentably-cool, and mussing her hair somewhat badly. The rest, she spends pacing.
You know I live above that pub, right? Told you that already. And Jesus, how Dani had smiled, like she’d been thinking of nothing else for four fucking days. Four days Jamie had spent planning ways to distance herself, to stop feeling all of this flappy butterfly nonsense at the mere sight of the woman, and the first thing--first goddamn thing--Dani did upon her return was ask her on a date.
To which she had...said yes. She’d said yes, and now off she goes to pick up her actual, real-live human woman date.
It’s one thing, she thinks as she strides up the drive to the door, to take a woman to bed. It’s a very natural, easy thing, in fact, to take a woman to bed. Strip off your clothes, strip off your inhibitions, get used to the notion of never seeing her again once the sun is up. But this? Dani? Jamie’s never been here before. Never wanted something so badly before.
“Don’t,” she mumbles, pushing the door open, “fuck this up.”
She expects to have to go on a bit of a hunt to track Dani down--maybe to the kitchen, or even (heaven help her) up to her room, but no: Dani is right there. Dani is standing in the foyer in a black skirt and loose-knit sweater, looking for all the world like Jamie just caught her running a trench into the floorboards.
“Hi,” she says, all deer eyes and suddenly grinning mouth. Her hair is up, so very blonde and perfect, Jamie’s mouth goes a little useless at the sight of it.
“Hey. Uh. Are we meant to be speaking with the chaperones, or...”
Dani shakes her head, looking just a little punch-drunk. “Hannah made it sound like we’d be in trouble if we went back there. Owen’s doing something with chemistry?”
“All the angels couldn’t help those kids and their empty bellies now,” Jamie says, “if Owen is fixated on another goddamn chemistry lesson.”
Dani laughs, and suddenly, it’s like a sheen of ice cracks open and all the warmth she’s come to associate with Dani Clayton comes rushing into the room. Jamie reaches out a hand, slides palm along palm until Dani is fitted neatly against her lifeline.
“Shall we?”
She doesn’t say, I’ve never done this. Doesn’t tell Dani any of that. It doesn’t seem important, all of a sudden, not with the way Dani squeezes back and follows eagerly into the passenger seat of her truck.
Jamie, looking at her out of the corner of her eye as she prepares to back out, is struck with the wild idea that maybe they don’t have to leave at all to do this. She could just reach across the seat, lay a hand lightly over Dani’s knee, tell her she’s never met anyone like her. Never met anyone who makes her want to tell sad stories and bad jokes and goodnights that are only acceptable because there will be a good morning to follow.
Date, she reminds herself firmly, though there’s a perfectly nice kitchen, a perfectly nice bedroom, a perfectly nice hidden spot out on the grounds that would do the job just as well. Maybe next time. There are flowers she’s certain Dani can’t go her whole life without seeing.
But tonight: it’s a pub in the tiny village of Bly, where Jamie has lived for years without ever really caring to get to know its secrets. Now, watching Dani look around like she’s just stepped into Oz, she sort of regrets that.
“Usually not too busy on a Thursday night,” she says, guiding Dani with a light hand at the small of her back past what she thinks of as the Attention Grabbing section--the tables up near the bar proper, where the denizens of Bly most like to congregate after work--and toward her own preferred spot. It’s in the back, near a near-secret exit that leads straight up to her flat, and Cal is charitable enough to keep most folks away from it unless the place is full-up. Not a bad guy, Cal; he’s about four hundred years old and insists on calling her Janey, but he’s still got the back for long nights serving bad drinks, and he keeps the rent cheaper than dirt.
“You live here?” Dani sounds like she’s never been more delighted at a prospect. Jamie can’t help but laugh, slinging her jacket over the back of her chair and settling in.
“Thought about asking for a job when I moved in, but luckily Lord and Lady Wingrave got to me first. Not sure it’d suit me, spending every night with the town layabouts.”
She winks at Cal as he shambles past to let him know this is a joke. He snorts.
“Like I’d hire you anyway. Too damn short. Couldn't reach the good stuff.”
“Wasn’t aware you carried the good stuff,” she fires back. Dani, watching this exchange with delight, laughs. Cal raises an eyebrow.
“Your friend’s pretty. Poor sense of character, to be spending her night with a felon, but there’s no accounting for taste.”
The smile on Dani’s lips dies instantly. Jamie swallows a curse.
“Yes, thank you, Grandfather Drunkard, I hadn’t quite gotten to that part of the tale yet. Round to make up for it, if you please.”
He has the good grace to look slightly ashamed, patting her on the shoulder as he winds back to the bar in search of clean glasses. Jamie leans back with a sigh.
“Well, it was bound to come up eventually, I suppose. Frankly, probably for the best he spilled those beans before I could lose my nerve and put off telling you.”
Dani’s brow is creased, less like someone horrified by a glimpse into Jamie’s storied past, more like a white knight ready to draw a sword in her defense. Jamie finds herself reaching across the table, glancing over her shoulder, and touching the back of her hand with two cautious fingers.
“Easy, Poppins, Cal’s a good sort. Our sort, even, if there is such a thing.” It’s a bold stroke, a shot in the dark, but given that Jamie’s already had this woman’s tongue in her mouth, she supposes it isn’t so dangerous to assume. Dani raises her eyebrows high enough to make her laugh.
“He’s--I mean he doesn’t--”
“He’s kind, and he knows the value of a closed mouth,” Jamie confirms. “Says things are better than they used to be around here, but there’s no point courting trouble. Anyway, he won’t say a damn thing when we--if we--”
Cal takes pity on her, delivering a pair of beers and a platter of cold chips, “on the house, as penance for fuckin’ up your evening.” Jamie raises her glass in a salute to his retreating back.
“Did he?” Dani asks. Jamie, glass halfway to her lips, pauses.
“Did he what?”
“Fuck up the evening.” Jamie’s not sure she’s ever heard Dani say the word fuck before, and suddenly feels as though it’s the best single syllable ever to cross her lips.
“Nah. Not unless you’ve, ah, got a problem with felons sharing your table?”
Lifting her own glass, Dani shakes her head. “Not as a rule. I’d like to hear about it, though. If it’s something you’re all right sharing.”
And so Jamie shares. All of it. It isn’t the plan, exactly, but when she gets started, she finds it increasingly difficult to locate a logical place to stop. To explain the prison time, she first has to explain how a young woman finds herself in such a situation; to explain that, she first has to paint a picture of a particular kind of home life. Before she knows what’s happening, she’s leaning across the table and saying names she hasn’t spoken in years. Telling about the coal mine. The other men. The baby. The burn.
Dani listens to it all, enraptured, never interrupting with so much as a question. She makes small noises, nods encouragement whenever Jamie falters, takes small sips of her drink when Jamie pauses for breath.
She doesn’t ask what Jamie did. This, above all else, strikes Jamie between the eyes. She doesn’t ask if Jamie lied, or cheated, or stole, or bloodied anyone along the way (yes, yes to one and all, and if she did ask, Jamie would tell her; they're old scars, the life of someone she feels she barely knows now, and if she’s ashamed, it’s the shame of a distant dream). She only listens, nods, takes it in.
“I figure,” Jamie says when she’s run out of history to unfold between them, “you showed me yours, yeah? It’s only fair.”
Dani raises her glass. “To not being defined by the sins of the past.”
Jamie chuckles, obediently following suit. “To people being the most goddamn exhausting concept on the planet, and trying anyway.”
They drink. They drink, and Jamie thinks, Maybe that’s it. Maybe I’ve exhausted the conversation topics for one relationship already. Maybe she’ll finish this glass and we’ll head back to the house, and that’ll be that.
“I’ve never done this before,” Dani tells her. There’s something relaxed about her, something Jamie finds new and deeply interesting. Relaxed is the last word she’d generally used to describe Dani Clayton.
Jamie gestures for Cal, refills following suit in short order. “Been to a pub?”
“Been on a date with someone I...” Dani hesitates. For a split second, Jamie’s sure she’s about to look at someone Jamie can’t sense over her shoulder. Instead, she shakes her head, smiles ruefully. “Someone I felt things for.”
“Things, huh?” She leans across the table, props her chin on one hand, makes a show of tilting her head. “What sorts of things?”
“I think you know.” Dani is blushing. This is maybe the best night of Jamie’s whole life.
“Think you should tell me anyway.”
Dani swats at her, and they’re both laughing with an ease Jamie can’t wrap her head around. It’s one thing to flirt; Jamie’s good at flirting. Comes easy, comes naturally. She’s good at watching for the little buttons in people, the little signs of what makes them laugh, what makes them squirm. Promised herself a long time ago never to use this power for anything less than leaving a room warmer than she found it.
But this isn’t flirting. Not the way Jamie’s done it before. This is something entirely new, entirely specific to Dani. It’s in the way Dani watches her, eyes too blue, jaw held taut like she’s trying to keep something dangerous from spilling out. It’s in the way Dani lets her fingers linger when she reaches for a chip, allows Jamie to brush against her in a fashion that looks utterly innocent from the outside and feels anything but.
Jamie swallows hard, liking the weight of Dani’s gaze more than she’s prepared to admit. Liking the way Dani very slowly, very carefully, moves a hand under the table to press against her knee.
“Bold, Poppins,” she breathes. Dani smiles, so clearly proud of herself and so clearly terrified that it’s all Jamie can do not to lean all the way across and kiss her.
Best not. Cal’s a good man, their sort, but there are others in the pub now. People who wouldn't take kindly to a sight like that. And this night is going far too well for Jamie to waste where it’s going on a bar brawl.
***
Jamie’s flat is nothing like Dani expected. Admittedly, she isn’t sure what to expect when Jamie drains the last of her glass and gives a knowing glance to the exit. A very small part of her thinks this is all going entirely too well--her hand has been under the table, pressed with a confidence she hadn’t known she possessed to Jamie’s knee, for almost fifteen minutes. Even as her thumb traces small circles into the denim, even as Jamie’s eyes go a little darker, her lips parting in a way Dani finds entirely too interesting, she thinks, This isn’t me, is it? She can’t be feeling it, too. No one has ever understood this.
Even so, here’s Jamie, standing a little too quickly. Her chair scrapes back, her jacket swung over her arm, and she’s reaching out. Dani accepts the hand, lets Jamie pull her to her feet. A good idea. A bad idea. The kind of idea that will get them out of the public eye in short order, either way, and Dani can’t think of anything wiser in this moment.
There’s a set of stairs just outside the door, leading up to a second door. Thick brown wood, with double locks Jamie works without really looking. She’s staring at Dani even as her hands move, staring from inches away, and Dani suddenly thinks how good it is, that they came out tonight. How good it is to be away from the house, the kids, anyone else in the world.
“After you,” Jamie says, pushing the door open with a flat hand and gesturing for Dani to enter. Her voice is a little raw, a little huskier than usual. Dani moves past her, arm brushing arm, and just about jumps out of her skin at the contact.
The space is small, sparsely furnished, with a curtain hung to break up the room. In one far corner, a tiny bathroom. In the closest corner, a tiny kitchen, barely broken from the living space by a change in flooring.
Jamie, wearing an expression Dani has not yet learned to decipher, says, “This would be it. The castle, as it were.”
Does she sound embarrassed? Dani can't quite tell. She wants to say there’s nothing to be embarrassed about, this place is small and quiet and somehow perfectly Jamie in its easy nature. There are books, though not many, on a small shelf. There are plants, considerably more, lined up like soldiers guarding Jamie from loneliness.
“It’s a place to lay my head, anyway,” Jamie says, and that is definitely a touch of embarrassment in her voice. Dani shakes her head, moves to join her at the front door, takes her hand.
“It’s yours,” she says, unable to clarify quite why that is so special. “Thank you. For bringing me here.”
It sounds better in her head than it does ringing between them in a space so silent, Dani imagines she can hear the echo of her own voice. Jamie is just looking at her, the way she’d looked the night Owen’s mother passed, like if Dani were to give the word, she’d make a move that would light them both aflame.
She’d been too afraid that night. Was carrying far too much. Even the simple act of touching Jamie at all, of running her thumb across Jamie’s hand, had felt like heroism.
Now, things are different.
She’s got Jamie by the sleeves, hands gripping Jamie’s t-shirt just above the skin of her biceps, and this is what going over feels like. This is what it feels like, Dani thinks, to just let go.
***
Kissing Dani is different here. Back in the greenhouse, Dani had been largely somebody else, Jamie thinks; still Dani, but a version carrying too much on her back. A desperate, hopeful, sorrow-laden Dani who had grabbed at her jacket like it was a life preserver.
This Dani, sighing and squeezing her arms, feels like freedom.
Jamie finds herself spinning them both, pressing Dani against the locked door, liking the convulsive way Dani’s hands fist around her shirt sleeves. Liking the way Dani slides one arm around her neck and leans back just a little, just enough to gaze into Jamie’s eyes, and this is almost too much all on its own. No one has ever looked at Jamie while she was trying to kiss them. No one, not even once, has looked at her with such profound affection.
And want. So much want, Dani’s eyes are stormy with it. Jamie’s grinning, but there’s a fist around her heart squeezing so hard, she worries it might burst.
“All right?” she breathes. Dani could say no. Dani could say no at any time, and Jamie would understand it. Would lean back, comb her fingers through her own hair, offer the bed while she sets up on the couch until the alcohol’s out of both of their systems and the sunrise gives them another chance at it.
Dani, rather than answering, makes a low sound at the back of her throat and finds Jamie’s mouth with an eager, open kiss that sends Jamie’s pulse through the roof.
She hasn’t done this before, she’s told Jamie, but she’s coming to it naturally enough. Her lips are soft, parting for Jamie’s tongue, her hips pushing against Jamie’s body in slow, easy motions. When Jamie rakes her nails down her scalp, fingers pulling the scrunchie from her hair, she responds with such a low groan, Jamie has to bury her face in Dani’s neck for a moment to breathe.
“Sorry,” Dani mumbles. Jamie, shaking her head, laughs against her skin.
“In no universe, Poppins, are you to be sorry right now. About anything.”
She raises her head, looking for signs that Dani is sorry in a more important way, a way that will say stop, back up, let this go for now. Dani takes her face between trembling hands. Kisses her slowly, sweetly, tongue tracing Jamie’s lower lip like the only thing in the world is to memorize her in tiny, hopeful doses.
Jamie sighs, one hand buried in blonde hair, the other finding purchase on the sleeve of a too soft, too tearable sweater. She feels too large for her body all of a sudden, too much adrenaline coursing through her system, and every time Dani turns her head just a little, every time she brushes her nose against Jamie’s and makes that tiny, soul-searing little sound under Jamie’s kiss, she thinks she gets a bit closer to plunging off the edge into something she won’t be able to forget about in the morning.
“You sure?” she asks against Dani’s lips, the words lost when Dani moves an arm around her neck and digs her fingers in hard. She can feel Dani nodding, breathless, and it’s enough. More than enough. Jamie finds she’s walking them backwards, navigating carefully around her small table, her small couch, the shelf upon which she keeps a few precious plants.
With every step, Dani is kissing her.
With every step, Dani is tracing shapes into the back of her neck.
With every step, Dani is pushing in close, like if Jamie breaks for even a second, some beautiful, perfect spell will break with her.
They’re past the curtain now, in the little space where Jamie sleeps and wakes and hasn’t taken anyone since moving in. Dani, forehead pressed against hers, lips swollen, opens her eyes.
“This is--”
“Not much,” Jamie says. On the one hand, she’s glad they came out tonight, glad she’s getting to hear all the little sounds Dani makes as she’s kissed without worrying about eavesdroppers. On the other, there’s nothing inspiring about her flat, nothing to say Jamie can take care of someone. It’s just walls. Just walls and a couple of plants, and for some reason, Dani is looking around like they’ve walked through a mirror into a land of magic.
“Anyway,” Jamie says. “We don’t have to--if you don’t want to--”
***
“Don’t you?” Dani’s heart is in her throat, pounding in her wrists almost painfully hard. Jamie, one arm around her waist, leaning back with flushed cheeks and her bottom lip between her teeth, raises her eyebrows.
“Want to? God, yes.”
Relief, flooding Dani’s body almost hard enough to knock her over. She grips at Jamie with both hands, the slide of dark t-shirt soft under her fingers, and kisses her again. She feels so good kissing Jamie, so good she forgets how nervous she is about the whole thing. Jamie, her hand strong at the small of her back, her fingers brushing just under the hem of her sweater, leans back again.
“Just don’t want to pressure you into anything. S’all right if you’re not up for--”
"I’ll tell you,” Dani promises. If Jamie keeps doing that with her hand, if Jamie keeps tracing the base of her spine with small, reckless movements, she thinks she’ll go crazy. “If it’s too much. I’ll tell you.”
She pushes gently against Jamie’s chest, feeling bold and brave and absolutely petrified of her own actions, and Jamie lets herself fold backwards until she’s seated on the edge of a thin, clean bedspread. Dani follows her down, knees on either side of Jamie’s thighs, sitting carefully in her lap.
“Now what?” Jamie teases, even as she’s sliding both hands up Dani’s sides, firm enough not to tickle as she brackets Dani’s ribs and lets the next ragged breath push against her palms. Dani closes her eyes for a beat, swaying, untethered until Jamie tilts her head and kisses her again. All at once, it’s like being caught at the end of a string. All at once, it’s like being handed serenity.
She realizes she’s moving her hips, rolling them forward against Jamie’s lap, liking the way Jamie’s hands tighten on her body and begin gently pushing her back and forth. There isn’t enough friction to really accomplish anything this way, but it hardly matters; it’s still so much, so much she feels like she’ll come apart anyway. Something this new, a feeling this big, reaching across the expanse of her, consuming her--she thinks she’ll lose something here tonight. Gain something. Tie the two together and be something different come morning.
She used to worry about that, with him. Used to worry that if she ever gave in, ever tried that one last thing to feel how she was meant to with him, she’d be different the next day. She’d be someone else.
This is something else entirely--so much so, she almost can’t breathe around the realization. That she will be different tomorrow, and that she will not be less Dani because of it, but more, somehow. Something more Dani than she’s allowed herself to be in her whole life, because it was chosen here, tonight, with Jamie’s hands on her body and Jamie’s mouth under her own.
***
With Dani in her lap, skirt riding up around her thighs, hips moving restlessly, Jamie thinks for a second they’ve hit a wall. A very good wall to hit, she thinks hurriedly. If this is as far as they go tonight, it’s still worlds past anything she really expected from Dani.
So long as she doesn’t regret it, doesn’t run from me, I could stay here forever.
Dani, who has been kissing her for what feels like forever, breaks contact and just looks at her. Her hand, soft and cautious and more certain than Jamie expects, presses against Jamie’s breastbone. Pushes again. Jamie shifts backwards, inching up the mattress, pulling Dani with her until she’s flat on her back with Dani looking down.
“Up to you,” she says. She likes the simple pressure of Dani’s body atop her own, of soft curve fitting all the spaces where Jamie doesn’t usually think of herself as lacking anything at all. Now, though, knowing what it feels like, how the whole of Dani is pressed flush to her, she wonders if she’ll ever feel complete in this bed again.
“You still--”
“Want?” Jamie’s lips curve. “If you’re asking, there’s something I’m not doing right.”
“I’m sorry,” Dani says, then seems to catch herself. She sighs, smiles, laughs a little in that dizzy, self-conscious way that breaks Jamie’s heart. “This is...as far as I know. This is...”
Jamie nods, understanding. “You trust me?”
***
Dani is nodding, too, liking the way her body is moving almost of its own accord against Jamie’s. She hadn’t even realized she was doing it, hadn’t even realized she was still rubbing lightly against Jamie even as nerves pound through her system.
“Tell me,” Jamie says in a low, urgent tone. “If anything changes.”
She rolls, then, a quick flash of movement that makes Dani shriek-giggle. From this new vantage point, back pressed into Jamie’s mattress, head on Jamie’s pillow, she feels suddenly so much more intimate than while straddling Jamie’s lap. Doesn’t make sense, she thinks with a thrill of such powerful lust, all she can do is grab again at Jamie’s shirt and hold on. But this is hers, and I’m here, and she’s...she’s...
“Tell me,” Jamie says again, a quiet command that drags soft nails up Dani’s back. She shivers, nodding, and Jamie takes the lead at last.
***
She hadn’t thought, somehow, about this part. Not in so many firmly phrased words. She’d thought about the shape of it, of Dani in her flat, of Dani in her bed, of Dani kissing her, touching her, but somehow, this part slid away every time it tried to rise in her mind.
The part of the show where clothes go away. The part of the show Jamie has always liked the most, and the least, at the same time.
Dani is kissing her when she slides both hands beneath the sweater, easing it up, giving Dani ample time to pull away. Dani, instead, sits up just enough to allow the sweater to rise over breasts, shoulders, head. Jamie drops it off the bed, leans back on her knees, smiles.
“Is there...” Dani isn’t covering herself, exactly, but there’s a sort of nakedness to her expression that has nothing to do with clothes disappearing. “I mean, am I--”
She leaves it unspoken, a bit embarrassed: right? okay? enough?
“Perfect,” Jamie tells her. “Absolutely gorgeous.”
She takes the hem of her own shirt in her hand, waits, pleased when Dani sits up and covers that hand with her own searching fingers. She doesn’t want to go anywhere Dani isn’t willing to take her, and she certainly doesn’t want to deprive her of the small moments that make a first time with someone else so electric. When Dani guides the shirt up over her head, it’s like Jamie’s never done this, either--no woman has ever just looked at her, eyes steady and searching, in a moment like this.
Women are usually the fast, nervous, lights-off-don’t-talk kind of souls in Jamie’s bed. Touch me, kiss me, don’t look, don’t ask questions, don’t act like you want to be here. But Dani is looking at her with lips parted, hands tracing the lines of Jamie’s neck, collarbones, the dip between her breasts. Her fingers are shaking so hard, Jamie covers them with her own, pulls them to her lips.
“One thing at a time,” she says quietly. “Anything’s too much, we pull back.”
Dani pulls at her, guiding Jamie’s hands back to work the clasp of her bra, to cover her skin with soft, careful strokes. She arches into Jamie’s hand and whimpers, and Jamie thinks there was no way, no way she could have predicted any of this. Not as it is. Not as Dani is letting it be.
***
She’d thought, back in the greenhouse, that Jamie’s kiss was enough to drown in. That Jamie’s lips traveling from her mouth to her throat to her ear was enough to drive her wild enough that she’d forget her own name.
It’s nothing compared to Jamie kissing her now, holding her with gentle hands as she explores every inch of skin she can reach. She is all tongue, all soft bite, all lips on shoulder, on pulse, on everything Dani has never been able to imagine letting someone else even look upon.
Here, Jamie’s jean-clad legs intertwined with her own bare ones, her skirt rucked high, Dani thinks maybe this is the best it could possibly be. To be in Jamie’s bed, with Jamie’s hand light on her breast and Jamie’s kiss burning hot as she travels lower, as she moves like they’ve got all the time in the world, is maybe the best the world could ever get.
Every so often, Jamie raises her eyes, and Dani feels something hot and tight clutch in her stomach. Jamie, asking if this is all right. Jamie, sucking a mark into the skin of her belly. Jamie, one hand moving lower so slowly, Dani sort of thinks she’s going to scream.
***
She’s trying to go slow, trying to take this as easily as she possibly can, but every inch of Jamie is on fire. Part of her is hyper-aware of the reality of the situation: that Dani is nervous, that Dani is special, that Dani is someone Jamie couldn't bear hurting even on accident. And, more: that Jamie’s scar is out on display, that Jamie’s home is out on display, that Jamie is more visible and vulnerable with shirt off and jeans on and mouth pressed to the smooth arc of Dani’s stomach than she’s been in years.
When Dani takes her by the wrist, she’s sure they’ve gone far enough--that the heat between her own legs will have to wait, that Dani is going to roll off the bed and scramble back into her sweater and away from--
Her hand, wrapped around Jamie’s, slides beneath her skirt.
Her fingers, wrapped around Jamie’s, guide her to press against damp underwear.
Her back arches. Jamie groans.
“Okay,” she breathes, looking up at Dani’s too-blue eyes. “Okay, getting the picture.”
***
She didn’t know. Didn’t have the first idea what this would feel like. Didn’t have even the remotest frame of reference, and if she were anywhere else, if she were with anyone else, maybe she’d still be too keyed-up to find out.
But Jamie is sliding back up the bed, hand rubbing soft, testing circles between Dani’s legs, and yes--she thinks she’s starting to understand at last.
She kisses Jamie hard, without care of how she looks or being even the least bit smooth, her own hand fumbling toward the zipper of Jamie’s jeans. No time like the present, she thinks with a truly unexpected delight, pleased when Jamie spreads her legs and shifts her hips to help her ease between cloth and skin.
“Right for it,” Jamie pants in surprise, and Dani is too invested to feel embarrassed. Jamie is soft under her hand, wet, hips jerking to match her clumsy movements. She closes her eyes, concentrates on trying to mirror what Jamie’s doing with her own considerably more nimble fingers. Tries to match her in slow, gentle pressure--then a little faster, as Jamie sucks breath through her teeth--and faster yet, when Jamie presses up in a way she doesn’t fully expect.
She doesn’t even realize she’s losing control until she’s already halfway gone, her hand tripping and fumbling as Jamie uses two fingers and a series of quick, rhythmic motions to set a pace Dani can’t help but follow with her hips. She realizes she’s rolling onto her back, arching, making noises she’s never heard from her own lips, and Jamie rolls to follow, kissing those noises into muffled joy.
Jamie rides out the spasms with her, keeping her hand exactly where it is, slowing to a gentle rest of fingertips against ruined underwear. Dani’s vaguely aware her own hand is still down Jamie’s pants, no longer moving. She exhales.
“I--”
“S’all good,” Jamie says, her smile edged with something Dani thinks looks rather smug. “First time. Takes practice.”
***
It doesn’t surprise her, Dani falling asleep soon after. There were some mumbling sounds about reciprocation, about fairness, about wanting to feel Jamie twitch and groan under her fingers--but Jamie, jeans unzipped, feeling rather good about herself, only pulled her in close. Kissed her slowly. Let her fade into a gentle doze against Jamie’s shoulder.
Good, Jamie thinks, though her skin is buzzing and there is an ache she hasn’t felt in a long time low in her belly. Rest, Poppins. There’s always tomorrow.
If pressed, she couldn’t say why she feels such pride, such easy pleasure, watching the way Dani sinks into sleep in her arms. Maybe because Dani hasn’t looked like someone with the benefit of a good night’s sleep since Jamie met her. Maybe simply because Dani feels perfectly safe, perfectly notched against Jamie in this small bed.
Either way, it feels right, Dani’s warm breath spilling across her bare skin. It feels right, even in this dumpy little flat above the only pub in Bly, though Dani is surely too good for a place like this.
Maybe not for someone like me, though, Jamie thinks blearily, too pleased and too tired to pile upon that idea the weight of a lifetime not being good enough. Past doesn’t matter, not with Dani. It’s different, with Dani.
She drifts. Tomorrow, they’ll wake to sunlight streaming through thin curtains, and maybe Dani will be a little embarrassed about everything they’ve done--maybe she’ll want to talk about it, or want to pretend it never happened, and Jamie will figure out how to handle the pain of that then.
She falls asleep thinking this is possible--but somehow knowing it isn’t likely. Isn't Dani. It’s too early to know a thing like that, but all the same, Jamie is pretty certain there will be no mortified scramble for clothes, no pushing her aside as Dani runs for the door, no awkward small talk on the ride back to the house.
She does not anticipate, upon waking, Dani kissing her cheek. Kissing the corner of her lips. Kissing her neck and murmuring, “Morning...” with a question on the end of the word Jamie can’t help but laugh at before she’s even fully awake.
“First thing, huh?”
Dani smiles at her, the smile of a woman who selected this very date venue not out of any polite curiosity about a small village pub, but because this particular bed existed above it. “Takes practice, you said.”
Jamie inhales sharply as a hand cups very lightly against the front of jeans that feel entirely irrelevant. “I did. Yeah. I definitely did.”

The Single & The Taken
“Settlin’ down, huh? Now we’re really like Bert and Ernie,” says Dean.
“Dean.” Castiel’s voice sounds urgent.
A loud sigh comes out from Dean’s lips. “Alright. I’ll tell ya. It’s because of this girl I’m datin’…”
Castiel frowns. “A girl?”
He Flies Me to the Moon and Back - Chapter 1
“So, Cas…”
Castiel looks up from unpacking his trench coat and a few of his worn white shirts from his duffle bag. He stares at Dean without batting his eyes while he waits for the rest of the sentence from Dean.
Dean cocks his eyebrows casually once their eyes made contact before he continues putting away Castiel’s stuff into a closet. “You okay movin’ here? You like it here?”
Castiel frowns softly, trying to recall his short memories since they both got to Long Beach. “It is a nice city.” He nods. “Lots of pizza places. Burger joints. Seafood.” Castiel continues nodding his head as he puts away his clothes into a drawer.
Dean turns his body around slightly and he quietly watches Castiel doing his thing. He is trying to read Castiel’s body language to make sure that his earlier answer wasn’t an act. Then, Dean shrugs and proceeds to close the closet before he takes his place on the bed, sitting facing his friend who is still busying himself, unpacking.
“Ya know that ya don’t need to stay here, right? I ain’t forcin’ ya,” Dean tries to convince Castiel.
Castiel looks up again with squinted eyes. A clear confusion is being advertised on his scruffy face. “You’re not forcing me, Dean. I want to stay here… if you want me.”
Dean’s lips naturally curl into a smile - he likes hearing this more convincing answer from Castiel. He clasps both his hands and rubs them together while his face is still smiling happily. “Great!” he unnecessarily exclaims, causing Castiel to stare at him confusedly.
“Great to have you here, buddy! I could use a buddy around since Sammy ain't livin’ with us anymore.”
Upon hearing that, Castiel immediately takes a seat next to Dean on the bed, and he keeps gawking at Dean with frowning look. “I wanted to ask you about that. Why didn’t you just stay with Sam back in The Bunker? Or at least anywhere in Texas? Or Kansas City? You love Kansas more than anyone I’ve ever known.” Castiel begins to look at Dean with a scrutinizing stare.
Dean is slightly taken aback by this sudden questioning from Castiel. He replies Castiel’s gaze with a perplexed look. “What? I thought I give California a try. Like ya said, they got awesome pizzas and burger joints.” Dean smirks brightly at the thought of all those pizzas and burgers he can have, believing that his argument might convince Castiel about his actual reason moving into Long Beach.
Unfortunately, Castiel doesn’t buy that. “You hate California.”
Dean pretends to be disgusted by Castiel’s accusation. “I never said that!” he cries defensively.
Castiel rolls his eyes and starts to quote Dean, word by word, “The land of gridlock, Botox, overtaxing, underachieving, smell of sweaty desperation. I mean you can't breathe, beaches are toxic. You got dudes in skinny jeans wearing sunglasses inside. Image-obsessed narcissists.”
Dean’s face is clearly showing his shock over Castiel’s rebuttal. “Dammit, Cas. Stop stalkin’ me, ya dickbag.” Dean attempts to cover his nervousness by fidgeting around on the bed, which makes him look even guiltier than he was before. Castiel watches Dean’s façade without a word.
Dean locks eyes again with Castiel. “Still... I didn’t say I hate California there.”
Castiel stares at Dean, unamused. “The only thing you like here is the yoga pants.”
Dean finally realizes that he can no longer win this argument against an angel that has remembered all his quotes by heart. “Shut up,” he protests.
Castiel can’t help but chuckles a little. Something that he picked up from spending all those years with the Winchester brothers. “So…” his words trail off, “Can you just be honest? Tell me why we are settling down here?” Castiel cocks his eyebrows, gesturing Dean to honestly answer him this time around.
Dean’s wall is still up although it is cracking here and there after hearing Castiel’s plead. He laughs lightly as he comes up with a lame joke to divert their conversation away from the pressing issue.
“Settlin’ down, huh? Now we’re really like Bert and Ernie.”
“Dean.” Castiel’s voice sounds urgent.
A loud sigh comes out from Dean’s lips. “Alright. I’ll tell ya. It’s because of this girl I’m datin’…”
Castiel frowns. “A girl?”
“Yeah…” Dean rubs his nape nervously. “I met this girl the last time me and Sam went huntin’. She was a hunter as well back then. We got talkin’ and we hit it off, nice and smooth.” Dean gives his signature proud smirk. “So, one thing led to another… She’s livin’ in Long Beach, and I thought I just come down here to have a normal life with her.”
Castiel feels his back being patted. He doesn’t know the reason why he is being patted, but he is curious about another thing. “Then… why am I here?” Castiel shoots a confused stare at Dean.
Dean quickly reacts with a frown. “Why can’t ya be here?”
“The last time I’ve checked, usually normal couple would move in together if they wanted to have normal relationship. Why don’t you just move in together? I can just stay with Sam at The Bunker. Help him out.”
Dean’s face changes - the proud smirk he donned earlier has now vanished, replaced by a startled look. He shakes his head and gets up off the bed as he paces up and down the floor. His brain is trying to come up with an excuse to answer to Castiel’s suggestion without giving any wrong signals.
“That’d be too fast, don’t ya think? What if she’s not the one for me? It’d be hell to move out,” he calmly answers, despite Castiel can almost sense the nervousness that is visible on Dean’s face.
“You never know, Dean. You need to give it a try to know if it’d work out.” Castiel shrugs nonchalantly.
Dean glares as a response to Castiel. His face is now showing the bubbling anger that he is feeling in his chest. He subconsciously grabs Castiel’s duffle bag and angrily takes out the remaining stuff in the bag onto the bed while Castiel keeps on watching.
“Whatever, man. Ya ass is stayin’ here with me. That’s final.” Then, Dean leaves the room, leaving Castiel even more confused on his bed.
-----
Dean’s hand reaches out to the car keys. He turns around to look for Castiel. “Cas! Let’s go now!”
Soon, Cas emerges from behind the wall, looking like his usual self with the beige trench coat and the same white shirt he always wears.
Dean squints with judgment. “Cas. Buddy. Ya seriously gonna wear trench coat? It’s blazin’ hot out there, man. Lose the coat, will ya?” Dean quickly but carefully takes the trench coat off Castiel’s back. Castiel remains obedient as he stands there without any refutes.
“This is what I always wear, Dean.”
“Don’t get me wrong.” Dean places the coat on the couch before he begins adjusting Castiel’s shirt collar attentively. “Ya always look good in that coat. But…” Dean flashes a smile to Castiel. “Ya look like a bank accountant out for dinner. Not meeting a friend.”
Castiel frowns his eyebrows. “She is not my friend, Dean. She is your friend.”
“So?”
Dean tugs Castiel’s tie down to loosen it - pulls it off Castiel - throws it down onto the leather couch - unbutton the top buttons of Castiel’s shirt. He takes a step back to have a better look of his angel friend, and an involuntary smirk appears on his lips.
“Man… Ya really look awesome now,” he gives Castiel a sincere compliment.
Castiel looks down to take a look of his new look, which he only manages to see what he normally sees. “Thanks?”
Dean smiles widely as he slings his arm across Castiel’s broad back. “Come on. We gotta go now. She’s waitin’.”
-----
Dean and Castiel enter the crowded pizza place across their apartment where they’ll be meeting Dean’s new girl sooner or later. It is Friday night. The high time for young adults to meet up and catch up with their friends. Thus, making the duo the only scruffy male adults in the joint, excluding a group of men in their 50s who are having their boy’s night out at the corner of the restaurant.
“Let’s grab that table.” Dean points at an empty table not too far from the kitchen’s entrance. They both make their way to the table and settle down comfortably despite the atmosphere in the pizza place is loud and vibrant with chatters and laughter.
Dean puts both his hands on the table. He’s smiling from ear to ear since they arrived at the pizza joint. I guess Dean is excited about this meeting very much, says Castiel in his mind.
“So, what do ya wanna eat, buddy? Beef pepperoni? Cheese? Vegetarian?” Dean skims the menu half-heartedly since he knows what he wants without having to read the menu properly.
“Beef pepperoni, please,” Castiel politely answers, with his body leans forward slightly.
A waitress comes by their table with a warm smile. Dean replies a smile back to her, then he places their orders. The young lady jolts down everything expertly while at the same time giving Castiel a flirtatious look. Castiel is - as always - oblivious of the opposite gender’s advancement, but Dean is taking pride in what is unfolding in front of him.
“Your friend is cute. He got a number?” asks the young waitress to Dean.
Dean takes a quick look at Castiel and smiles back at their waitress. “Thanks. Ya might wanna ask him yourself for his number.”
The young girl shoots a flirty wink at Castiel before she walks away into the back kitchen. Castiel who witnessed the wink is left clueless. Dean, on the other hand, rolls his eyes in frustration.
“You’re hopeless, man.”
Castiel glances at Dean once Dean looks away. That bright smile is still on his face. It reminds Castiel those days when Dean and Sam, if not him included, saved the days from the supernatural attacks. Especially those rare days when Dean can have a way with the cases only because they strike his interest the best. Castiel beams softly as he continues to gaze at Dean. Castiel has always enjoyed watching Dean quietly, even when Dean is sleeping.
Suddenly...
“Leona!” Dean calls out a name, causing Castiel to snap back into reality. He turns around to see a beautiful young black lady, in her casual wear which makes her looks effortlessly beautiful, walking towards him and Dean.
Castiel, as a gentleman as he is, immediately gets up off his seat just to show her a good manner. He doesn’t want to embarrass Dean in any ways possible. He can’t stand the critics he might have to hear back in their apartment later on if he messed up this first meeting.
“Hi! I’m Leona,” says the girl cheerfully while extending a hand towards Castiel. Castiel naturally takes her hand and gives a firm handshake. “Castiel,” he says.
The girl keeps on smiling at Castiel and Dean as she takes a seat next to Dean. “Been waiting long?” she politely asks Dean. Dean shakes his head, and then, he looks at Castiel with a huge grin. “Meet my girl, Cas.”
Castiel smiles warmly and nods his head lightly. “Nice to meet you, Leona.”

Author’s Note: My gosh, already part 3. Thank you for your support. I am glad you like the story. Today it gets heated and, well, interesting… Enjoy.
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 4 // Part 5
A long time ago God created a flower. But one day he forgot its name and it was very sad that God had forgotten it. So God renamed the flower Forget-me-not as a promise to never forget it again.
As soon as Dean pressed you against the door of his rented room, you knew you wouldn't get much sleep that night. As the hunter pressed his lips against yours, your hands found their way under his shirt, where your fingers followed the contours of his impressive abs. He shivered under the touch and bit your lip slightly, making you moan. Hurriedly he ripped the key to the room from his pocket and tried to unlock the door with one hand, his other hand beginning to knead your buttocks. As you gasped this time, he took the opportunity and his tongue explored your mouth.
Finally the lock clicked and Dean pushed the door open so hard that it crashed against the wall. None of you cared when Dean pushed you back into the room with his hands on your hips before he kicked the door shut and lifted you up. He was strong and pressed you against the wall, while his lips remained on your lips at all times. Your hands went wandering and soon began to unbutton his plaid shirt so you could finally explore more of his strong chest.
Before Dean could pull your top over your head, a sudden throat clearing tore you apart. Surprised you looked at the hunter who only rolled his eyes and let you down. A bit wobbly you stood on your legs and straightened your hair as well as your clothes to make a halfway decent impression on the interrupter.
"For fuck's sake, Cas, what did I tell you about personal space?! You can't just turn up in my room. I'm busy!" Dean hissed angrily and rubbed his temples in annoyance. Apparently this kind of thing happened more often with his friend. You saw someone step out of the shadow in the corner of your eye but you were too embarrassed to look that person in the eyes.
"I'm sorry, Dean." You were about to leave, but that deep voice left you dead in your tracks. Your blood froze in your veins. In disbelief, you turned to the speaker. It couldn't be - no. - How?! "Cas?" you whispered in disbelief. Dean looked back and forth between you and your counterpart in confusion. "You know each other?" he asked in surprise, but you paid him no attention at all. You only had eyes for the man at the other end of the room. Your heart began to race and your hands became sweaty with excitement. There he stood. The angel with the beautiful eyes as blue as Forget-me-not. The angel you thought you'd never see again. "Castiel?" Your voice quivered and then it broke, and then it just went completely silent. His big blue eyes wandered over you in shock. When he recognized you, they lit up. "Y/N?" He whispered, like he was afraid to wake up from a dream too good to be true. Your legs trembled as you crossed the room with shaky steps. When you stood directly in front of him, you put your hand on his cheek. Your thumb brushed across his stubble scratching your skin.
"I can't believe it," You whispered in a low voice. You were afraid that he'd just disappear as soon as you blinked. A mere trick of your imagination. "I've been looking for you for years," He murmured and you saw a thousand emotions reflected in his sky-blue eyes. Suddenly he began to glow. He lifted you up and whirled you through the air, just like before. "Y/N! It's really you!" When he put you down, you fell into his arms. You buried your face in his neck and tears were streaming down your cheeks. Joy, relief and happiness flowed from your eyes. He pushed you away a little and took a closer look at you. "You've become so tall. And so beautiful," murmured your angel. He gently wiped the tears from your face. His fingers lingered for a moment over a scar under your eye, which you had gotten while chasing a vampire, and his eyes took on a pernicious expression as he discovered more and more scar tissue on your body. He had not been able to save you from all that pain, as it had once been his task. He had failed again, but in your happiness you missed the doubts that had overshadowed his face over the years. "I thought you had forgotten me, Castiel," you said, still in tears. "Never." he kept repeating the same word he said all those years ago. Suddenly you couldn't control yourself. You pulled him towards you by the collar of his trench coat and your lips met sweetly. For a moment you were uncertain, but as soon as he kissed you back, a sigh escaped your lips and your angel pulled you closer to his waist.
As you separated breathlessly, Castiel leaned his forehead against yours and you could have drowned in the infinite blue of his eyes. Again he stroked your cheek. It was a beautiful moment. For the first time in years, you felt such hope. You had found him. You had found your angel.
"Man, this is weird. Should I leave you alone for a moment?" was Dean's voice. Cas rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers and Dean was gone. This elicited a soft laugh, which Castel smothered with his lips. But Dean's words seemed to have triggered something in him. Abruptly the angel pushed you away from him and took a step back to put distance between you. Surprised, you watched as pain and doubt flickered in his eyes.
"I - I'm sorry, Y/N. T-that was inappropriate. I mean, y-you were a kid a-and - no. We can't - I shouldn't!" Your joy turned to worry because you couldn't make sense of Castiel's stuttering. what was going on? You had just found him again, and he was closed up? That wasn't the Castiel you knew.
What happened to the angel you loved since you were a child?

Yellow Umbrella pt 2
Masterlist
Fandom: Marvel
Summary: Girls nights and hook ups
Pairing: Loki x OC
Notes: So I’m thinking of doing little monologues at the beginning of each chapter. What do we think? Yay or nay?
Also, I don’t want to ruin this story’s whole… vibe but I want to say a few things about fantasy vs reality. In fantasy, it’s fun to think of yourself walking down a dark street with a handsome stranger, or leaving your best friends to let him buy you a drink, or even taking him home.
But remember that demon mafia lords and Loki are not real. In the real world making a safe choice over the romantic one is ALWAYS better. Because in the real world you can’t delete the chapter if you don’t like the way it’s going or make the guy turn out to be a hunky sweety if he’s not.

Love.
What a Broad word.
You could tell someone that you love them and it could be a million different things.
It could be romantic. It could mean that person who when you hold them in your arms you feel whole in a way you never thought you could feel about anyone. It could make you burn like a bright fire and freeze like sub-zero.
But sometimes… sometimes love isn’t romantic.
Sometimes it’s a new college roommate. Walking into your dorm looking just as nervous as you have been feeling all day. Wide-eyed and praying that they had made the right choice leaving everything they had known to try something new.
Sometimes love is a drunken classmate finding you at a bar and pretending to be your lesbian lover to keep a creepy man away. Her hugging you tightly, smelling strongly of tequila, all while screaming at the guy “I would die for my beautiful woman!” even if you only spoke twice before in English class.
Sometimes love comes stronger and powerful while you're sitting there unsure what to do next after he leaves you. It holds unbreakable when the rest of the world seems to be crumbling around you.
Sometimes love is two girls who just understand you in a way that no one else ever was able too.
-------------------------------
It all started with a text.
Having gotten out of a two-year relationship meant a few things.
ONE: Yue didn’t have any going out clothes.
TWO: She still struggled with the social graces of the hookup culture.
Lucky for her she had two best friends who had her back. Sammie and Riley.
They had all met in college and basically become inseparable. Sammie and Yue were Freshman roommates and Riley ended up moving in with them when her roommate became a psycho bitch.
They had always been there for each other. Always supported each other. No matter what stupid decisions or bad choices (most of the time right next to them). Through ex-boyfriends, psycho roommates, and bitchy coworkers.
“Cuddles!” Yue sang out hugging Riley who pulled her closer to her. While the sky hadn’t quite opened up in a downpour the dark looming clouds were threatening to start at any time.
“Come here lover,” the brilliant red-haired girl said, pulling open her Naruto umbrella. Bright Japanese cartoon characters smiling around the large covering. Sammie frowned, opening her own sensible umbrella checking her phone one more time before looking down the quickly darkening street for their driver.
“What happened to your umbrella?”
“Remember she gave it to that sexy stranger while high on Nyquil.”
“Oh yeah,” Sammie said fighting back a smile at the memory of a half-delirious Yue describing the half beaten Gothic boy she had met in the dead of the night.“Your Ted”
“Tonight's going to be a good night” Riley giggled glancing down at her phone before shoving it in her rain jacket. The long tan trench went past the short mini shirt, her long pale legs glowing in the dark of the rainy city streets. “Someone is getting laid tonight! I can feel it.”
The bar was comfortably crowded for a Friday night. Just enough people to get lost in a crowd but not enough to get trampled. The DJ was playing their song and soon they were dancing on the floor. Just another group of recent college grads living their best lives.
And that’s when she saw him. Well, more like collided into him. Her hand hitting a very toned chest wasn’t out of the normal for the packed dance floor, however, when a foreign hand wove itself around her wrist her attention was caught.
Turning she came face to face with him.
Umbrella Man.
In the colorful lights, he was even more unworldly looking. Like something out of some modern sci-fi movie. His pale face cleaned from any bruises or cuts, makeup now clean, dark lines around his eyes with one that seemed to drip down into a point. For a moment Yue wasn’t sure if it had been her imitation or maybe that scar had just been makeup the first night they had met.
Honestly, he could have been a cat in a hot topic shirt for all she knew that night.
“Well fancy meeting you here,” he said leaning forward his breath was cool with a slightly minty smell which was odd for a hot sweaty dance floor. Refreshing and alluring in a way that made her heart skip a beat.
“Yeah.” was all that came out her eyes wide unsure what to say her brain slightly buzzed from a night of fun. Never in her life would she, miss plane Jane, imagine having a man like this ever pay attention to her. Never had she ever imagined a man like this ever bother to approach her. Never had she ever thought a man like that would look at her, his green eyes traveling over her body like that. Admiring the cute outfit she had stolen from Riley as if taking in a work of art. She almost felt almost naked under his gaze yet totally in control at the same time.
“Let me buy you a drink?” his hand snaking its way around to the small of her back pulling her closer. Glancing to the side Yue noticed Riley and Sammie dancing, both girls didn’t look it, but they were slyly watching her. Keeping an eye out for their friend. Ready to strike at a moment's notice.
“Just let your friends know you’ll be right back”
Ok so maybe not that slyly.
Nodding toward her friends she then let the dark stranger lead her to the bar. As they walked through the dance floor it was as if the red sea parted, only it was a bunch of drunk 20-somethings and not water. It was a bit of an out of body experience. Feeling almost like a queen being led by her king through a court of his subjects. Yue vaguely wondered if she was just drunk as they quickly found two empty seats at the bar, the bartender nodding toward them coming quickly up.
Ok, she was drunk but not this drunk.
“How do you do that?” she asked looking up at him in awe, “it took me at least five minutes to get his attention and that was after Riley made me bounce up and down a few times.” the man smiled down clearly finding her reaction amusing. Her clearly comfortable with her own drunk girl antics, this woman in front of him seemed so, her own person. As if she wasn’t trying to be anyone but the drunk silly girl she was.
“I have that effect on people.” turning to the bartender he leaned against the wooden bar, “I’ll take a Whiskey neat and she’ll have…”
“Just a beer.”
Again, a delightful surprise. He raised an eyebrow as the bartender nodded going to grab the drinks. “I took you more for a vodka soda girl.”
“Beer is an easy drink” she shrugged, nodding a thank you to the bartender. “I always know what I’m getting and it says I’m not expecting anything from the buyer.”
“I don’t think a beer could properly thank you for the umbrella,” he said leaning forward, smiling at her a slender finger gently running over the outside of her thigh sending a shiver up her leg. Just enough of a touch to let her know his intentions but not enough she couldn’t move away from it. Her heart rate picked up at the thought. Taking a swig of her beer she smiled.
“The nights still young.”
“That it is. I would love to show you just how grateful I am” his voice was as smooth as the whiskey he was drinking.
His meaning wasn’t hard to tell but the nerves were getting the better of her. It had been a while. But making out with a hot stranger in a bar was on her hot girl summer bucket list. She had promised herself that this was going to be her year of adventure. And there was no way she was going to let a few butterflies get in the way of that.
And he was hot.
Like almost too hot.
“What did you have in mind?”
He tasted like whiskey, smokey and smooth. Filling her taste buds sending a fun buzz through her body as his thumbs stroked her cheeks. He wasn’t messing around, his kiss filled with passion and an intensity that sent her head spinning more than any alcohol could.
They kissed and kissed and kissed.
And then kissed some more.
At the bar.
On the dance floor.
On the uber home.
At her doorstep.
In the living room
Somewhere between the living room and the bedroom clothes were slowly being shed until they were both standing there naked.
Letting out a giggled Yue jumped onto her bed bouncing slightly before crawling in the head. He crawled after her on all fours matching her smile with one of his own. Her heart rate picked up watching him as he looked up through dark lashes that thin smile on his face as he slowly moved closer and closer until his lips met hers.
He was such a good kisser, it was always so tender and slow. Enjoying the moment in no hurry to go anywhere. She vaguely wondered how good he would feel kissing anywhere else as she let him crawl over her.
Pausing for a moment he looked down at her fluffy blue blanket his hands were grasping on either side of her body. “This blanket is very cozy,” he mumbled a playful smile on his face as he looked up at her. His smile seemed to be laughing at a secret she wasn’t even sure she understood.
“I strive for comfort.” she giggled meeting his smile with one of her own. Pushing herself down deeper into the bed spreading out her hands as if cementing this statement.
Cute, that’s what he thought as he looked down at her. She was so damn cute.
Very unlike what he normally went for.
But maybe a change was good.
He smiled, kissing her back his hips rubbing against hers. Burying his nose in her neck he sighed, “did I mention how good you smell” he mumbled letting his nose run over her neck enjoying her. Drinking her in sending shivers down her spine.
Slowly moving from her shoulder to her neck taking another deep breath before kissing her. “It’s the sweetest thing I have ever smelled ”
It was such a strange compliment she wasn’t sure why that was so hot. Maybe it had something to do with his overall dark mysterious vibe he had going for him. The way he seemed to be kissing her, licking her neck and it felt like she had her own vampire lover in her bedroom or something. Her fingers dug into his pale skin as he took her in enjoying the beautiful sweet skin at the base of her neck. Teeth grazing just hard enough to feel but not enough to pierce the skin.
Delicately he moved his way down from her neck to her collar bone before reaching her breasts burying his face in them sighing before kissing the valley between them fingers running over them pitching the nipples “it’s better than even the angels.”
He kissed her nipples “Or the devils.”
He kissed and licked down her stomach enjoying her scent. Tasting every inch of her body. Like his kisses before he was so slow and deliberate. Truly taking his time to enjoy himself. Taking his time until he reached her hips.
Her body shivered as she watched him. His green eyes looking up for a moment meeting her own that smile back. Their gaze meeting as his tongue slowly licked over her pussy like he was taking a lick of ice cream. He hummed softly lowering his gaze going in again. Just as slow, this time a bit deeper the tip of his tongue flicking over her core making her let out a shaky breath as her stomach burst into a million butterflies.
Yue had never had anyone eat her like that. Her ex had never done it saying it didn’t do anything for him and the random rebound she had dated after that had been like a blender with his tongue.
But not this guy.
Oh God, this guy.
He was truly sinful the way he ate her out. His mouth over her making her whole body feel hot and bubbly. His lips kissing and sucking as his tongue, oh that tongue. It seemed to find just the right spots to explore licking and flicking in a way that had her totally undone.
It was as if time had stood still, she wasn’t sure if it had been seconds or hours. Her brain left her body as if she had ascended to another plane.
Just when she was sure this was what true bliss felt like he slipped a finger inside of her while sucking on her clit.
The new and wonderful sensation caused her to gasps bucking her hips slightly and he smiled pulling away for a moment to lick his lips, “Baby girl when was the last time someone properly took care of you? You’re moaning like a virgin”
“I…” she felt her face flush biting her lip. All those insecurities coming back to her. Painfully aware she was with a man who was far her superior in the bedroom.
“Oh now don't’ do that,” he said, still playing lazy with her, his finger joined by two more toying lightly with her as he looked up between her legs, “I love it. It’s been so long since I’ve met someone who’s let themselves enjoy it this much.”
“Thanks.”
“Now let’s see how loud I can get you to scream.” he snickered, diving back in causing her to throw her head back in pure pleasure. She was so close she wasn’t even sure how to speak. Her whole body seemed to be humming with an electrical current that only seemed to light her up brighter and brighter until she was exploding within herself. It felt like fireworks as her body reached its peak. She let out a few giggles unable to really know how else to function. The feeling so wonderful there was nothing else she could do but laugh. He pushed her through her climax enjoying every moment of it, quite literally eating it up. That large grin on his face as he watched her squirm giggling with pure bliss on her fluffy blue blanket.
She was such a beautiful sight.
After a few moments, he crawled up over her kissing her neck again. Tenderly, his hands stroking her arms. Then slowly he pulled her onto his lap. His thick erection rubbing against her legs just in front of her core. His eyes studying hers waiting for her to move toward him.
She searched his gaze for a moment before she spoke, “I have condoms in my drawer.”
“I don’t… he paused as if realizing where he was. His eyes dark with lust “Show me what you have.”
“You don’t want me to return the favor?” she asked Glancing over at his huge cock, thick and dripping slightly with pre-cum. It gave her a slight thrill that he had gotten that hard just by eating her out.
He shook his head looking over her shoulder as she opened her bedside table drawer luckily Riley had gone for a run last week and had picked her up a multi-pack “just in case.” so she was stocked and ready. “Next time” he mumbled before taking one slipping it over his cock.
Then moving toward her he pulled her close to him. Kissing her neck as he lifted her up onto his lap slowly pushing her onto his cock. Using his shoulders as a base she pushed herself up and down a few times letting his cock fill her up with a soft moan that he matched.
“You feel as good as you taste, fucking fantastic.” his hot breath caressing her neck and ear as he moved her around his cock. Him on his knees leaning back on his left hand, the right gripping her ass. “Move those hips for me,” he mumbled his voice husky dripping with sex, “Like you did on the dance floor, fill yourself up.”
His moans, the fact that she was making him moan like was making her close to coming again.
And he felt so good inside her too.
His lips on her neck, her hands in his hair as they went deeper and deeper until she wasn’t sure where his body ended and hers began. It felt so good. It felt so freeing.
Then his mood changed and he let out a soft growl. Moving swiftly he bucked forward. She let out a slight squeal wrapping herself around him as she felt herself fall toward the bed. His body over hers again. He gasped looking down his breath ragged and eyes so dark they looked like… maybe it was a trick of the darkroom but they looked black.
All black.
He growled again as he descended upon her.
His thrusts were heavy and hard. Sending pleasure shooting through her body as she matched his rough pace. Their legs tangled together as he kissed her over and over her lips, her neck, and her breasts. Frantic and rough as if he is going to devour her. Between each kiss are moans and cruses in a language she doesn’t recognize.
Yue looked up at him, his dark eyes, hair, white skin glowing in the moonlight of her room and she realized something.
She knew nothing about this man.
And something about that. Something about the idea that she owed his man nothing but the pleasure they were sharing at this moment was the most thrilling wonderful thing she had ever experienced.
She gasped as she felt herself close again to her, it was as if her own body knew her deep thoughts. That she was allowed to enjoy this for herself and not for anyone one else.
She cried as she came, letting out a loud moan. He followed quickly after biting down on her neck, not drawing blood but close. The pain making her cry out in surprise but also pleasure.
He kissed her where he had marked her before traveling over her shoulder and then back to her neck pulling her close to him pushing in a few more times just enjoying the feeling of them together. Then just as softly he let her fall into her bed rolling off.
Both of them laying on their backs looking up at the ceiling gasping for air. Then after a few moments, Yue got up grabbing a towel from the closet in the hallway coming back to hand it to him. Leaving again she came back with a cup of water.
“You can stay if you want,” she muttered crawling back into the bed. He nodded watching her. Something about watching her curl up under that fluffy blanket almost disappearing into those pillows he wanted that.
That peace she seemed to have.
“Yes please.”
Nodding she lifted the blanket letting him crawl under before tucking him in. his hand snaked around her pulling her closer to him, taking in her sent again.
That beautiful sweet scent. All-consuming wonderful scent.

Begin Again: https://www.bravonovel.com/begin-again-7645
Begin Again novel is a second chance romance story, written by Val Sims.
A hot rebound is just what any doctor would recommend for Eden McBride's broken heart after a brutal breakup. Not really. But it's what she needs.
Liam Anderson is the perfect rebound guy. Dubbed the Three Months Prince because he's never with the same girl longer than three months, Liam's had his share of one night stands and doesn't expect Eden to be anything more than a hookup.
When he wakes up and finds her gone along with his favourite denim shirt, Liam is irritated, but oddly intrigued. No woman has ever left his bed willingly or stole from him. Eden has done both. He needs to find her and make her account.
But in a city with more than five million people, finding one person proves impossible, until fate brings them together again two years later.
Eden is no longer the naive girl she was when she jumped into Liam's bed; she now has a secret to protect at all costs. Liam is determined to get everything Eden stole from him, and it's not just his denim shirt.
Begin Again novel Trial Reading
"Can someone please tell me why I left our perfectly comfortable couch to freeze my ass off here?" Eden McBride glared at her three friends waiting patiently in the queue with her.
It's been over an hour, but the long line snaking its way around the block had barely moved.
Out of all the hangouts in Rock Castle, they had to choose Crush, one of the most challenging clubs to get into, especially on the one weekend when the hottest DJ in town makes an appearance.
"To help you get over the man whose name we won't mention!" Sienna, her best friend since primary school, said in a hushed tone. The clear plastic beads dangling on the ends of her long ombre braids chinked as she turned her head to match her death glare.
On her 'bad' days, Sienna was cute. But on a good day, like tonight, she was smoking hot. The guys milling about, desperate to get inside like they were, clearly thought so too. They could barely peel their eyes from her.
"Yeah, Eden, we've given you enough time to mope," Lydia chimed in as she snapped a quick selfie and posted it on her Instagram. Within seconds her phone pinged incessantly with notifications from millions of adoring fans. Lydia is a mega-successful YouTuber whose makeup videos have catapulted her to a goddess-like status on the internet.
"The sooner you get back on the bike, the better," Cassandra added, flicking her long blond hair over her shoulder as she pulled up the collar of her signature leather jacket. In the five or six years Eden's known her, she's never seen her in a dress. Not even once. For a self-proclaimed tomboy, Cassandra was effortlessly chic, and with her tall slim physique and delicate features, she could pull off any look.
In their crew, Eden was the plainest, and she was okay with that. Her skin was so pale she could never get a tan no matter how long she stayed in the sun. She tried colouring her long mousey brown hair a few times, but the constant retouching got old real quick. Her most striking feature was her slanted, brown eyes. Pity, she had to hide them behind thick-lensed glasses because she was almost as blind as a bat without them.
"He's moved on. You should do the same!" Lydia chimed in brutally. Subtlety was not her strong suit.
Eden sighed and rolled her eyes. Her friends meant well. But, she was okay with spending her days and nights in front of the TV binging on carbs and terrible reality shows. She was cool with not brushing her hair or changing her clothes for days on end. She was happy to cry herself to sleep and wake up with a puffy face and swollen eyes. But she didn't want to be rushed through her grief.
How could six weeks be enough to get over a lifetime of memories, of four years of happy moments and hopeful dreams, dashed in an instant?
"If this stupid line doesn't move in the next two minutes, I'm leaving," she hissed and pulled her trench tighter, glad she had the foresight to wear it even when her friends wanted her to ditch it because it was 'ruining her whole aesthetic'.
A Lamborghini screeched in front of the entrance, followed by a Ferrari and a Porsche. A group of men, as tall as the surrounding office towers and good looking enough to have walked straight out of a fashion magazine, jumped out of the three cars, threw their car keys at the valets, and made their way to the door.
Perhaps it was the long line that seemed to be going nowhere fast or the stress of the past few weeks, but when Eden saw the six towers trying to bypass the queue, she lost all her patience. Without thinking, she left her place and stormed to the entrance, her friends trailing behind her.
She tapped the very tall ginger, trying to smooth talk his way into the club, on the shoulder. He turned to look at her, his thick eyebrows fusing in a questioning frown.
Eden paused, her lungs struggling to keep up with her thoughts and take in simple breaths. With hair so bright like flames, she expected his eyes to be green. Not this denim blue. She could feel herself struggle against their pull.
"Eden, don't cause a scene," Sienna gritted her teeth and tugged at her arm.
But, Eden saw no reason to be polite. Not when she was almost frozen solid she could barely feel her ass.
She stretched to her full height as she tried to match the man's towering size. But even in her Jimmy Choo stilettos, she still had to look up at him.
"Can I help you?" He asked in a voice meant to melt the panties off of any woman within a kilometre radius.
As if he wasn't already deadly enough, he had a cleft too. The fact that it wasn't so prominent and only seemed to show itself when he spoke or smiled, which was all he did in the last fifty seconds, made it all the more devastating.
"I don't need your help," Eden said icily, hating him a little. He had no right to be so attractive.
"Okay, then!" He shrugged, showing off two rows of perfectly straight teeth as he smiled. They were so white she thought they might be veneers. They had to be. There was no way anyone would have such great teeth unless they had an excellent dentist.
"If you are done gawking at me–"
Eden held up her hand, irritated with herself for noticing all these things about him and hating him a little more for his presumptuous arrogance.
"Do you see all these people?" She glared at him and pointed at the endless line. "They've been waiting for over an hour. You can't just come here and skip the queue."
"Are you going to stop me, Princess?" His rust-coloured eyebrows shot up, his eyes sparkling with amusement and his Calvin Klein underwear model friends sniggered. Eden wanted so much to wipe the smirk off his face with her puny little fists. But she was an educated person. She didn't have to use her hands to prove her point. Words were just as powerful.
"If you have any decency, you'll do the right thing and wait in line like everyone else." She hissed, blinking furiously behind her black-framed glasses.
A hush fell over the small crowd gathered around them. Eden's friends kept tugging and pulling at her. But she was so over everything, including this night, and she refused to be intimidated by Red as he leaned down to stare at her at eye level condescendingly.
"I guess I'm not a decent person now, am I?" He blew a cold minty breath on her face and shrugged, returning his attention to the bouncer.
He flashed a few notes at the burly man, gathered up his crew, and waved at her group. "They are with us!"
Before Eden could even process his announcement, they were already inside the club, wading through a swarm of sweaty heaving bodies swaying to the music.

I did it. Now I dont write, I draw so this is not gonna be so good. Its been through many revisions and I realized I spelt "Yuseke" as "Yueske the entire time so forgive me ill fix that next chapter. My Kuwabara x oc story:
It was finally cold again. Miyoko was overjoyed, she had never liked summer. Sure there was no school and she had more time with friends, but she couldn't stand the heat. She detested those sweaty nights, or how the bugs always bothered her, actually she didnt care for any part of summer.
Miyoko had dropped so many hints over the years and yet somehow, Kuwabara still had no clue. His air-headed-ness was cute, but it made things difficult for the shy girl Miyoko was. She just couldn't work up the nerve to say something, and when she did, something would always interrupt her. However, today she planned to change that! Miyoko got dressed up as cozy as she could, ready for what her and her friends had planned and with a gleam of excitement in her eyes, she headed out the door.
That was apart from going to see her crush, Kazuma Kuwabara's baseball games, he would play every summer. When they were younger, he played in an official team wearing his "Mötor Head" jersey and smoking every opposing team he played against. Miyoko never missed a single game! Every home run, every strike, and every fight that broke out because of a bad call, she was there. When they got older, she would be there to watch him play against his friends, still wearing that jersey. She was always supportive of him, she was madly in love with him, and had been for awhile.
"Urameshi!! Where do you think you're going?? I was talking to you!" Kuwabara's feet hit the sidewalk with force as he sprinted after Yueske, who had walked only a few feet, forcing Kuwabara to stop abruptly frantically trying to steady himself without falling. After regaining balance, Kuwabara grabed a fists full of his friend's jacket to pull him close aggressively.
"D-Dont tell anyone! Or I'll break your mouth, so you cant tell anyone nothin' ever again!!" Kuwabara's face was as red as the setting sun. Unfazed, Yuseke stared at Kuwabara blankly for a short second before sighing and shrugging the big flustered fool off of him.
"Listen man, I wont say anything. But this is getting really annoying. Ive told you before that you should just go through with it. Whats your problem with admitting to her anyways?" Yuseke looked to the helpless man and immediately regretted asking. Kuwabara looked off dramatically twords the orange and red sky. His shoulders slouched, slumping over, and fiddling with his hands.
"I....Shes really pretty, ya know? And...Im well...ya know?" His voice trailed off, as if wanting reassurance he was being foolish. When there was no reply, Kuwabara peeked up with a quivering bottom lip.
Yueske stood with his hands in his pocket saying nothing, only wearing a furrowed brow and tight lips. Suddenly, he burst into laughter. Causing Kuwabara to stand up straight and look at him even more embarrassed, and ready to punch him.
"I never thought I'd hear the great Kuwabara, warrior of love, admit to being ugly!!" Mocked Yueske. He bent over shaking his head and slapping his leg, resting his other elbow on his knee and laughing loudly. He straightened and wiped a fake tear from his eye. Kuwabara gasped in shock.
"What?? Ugly??" Again Kuwabara grabbed at his friend, this time missing and falling. He quickly got up and held up a threatening fists.
"Im not ugly!! Im just not a romantic type!!" He rubbed his fists on his chest.
"I am a warrior of love, so I know how to treat a lady and how to talks to girls, I just....." He paused, his mouth moving like hes trying to remember how talking works. "She's different!!" He finaly blurted out. "She reads them girly romance books that Kurama likes!!" With a frustrated grunt, Kuwabara rubbed his neck nervously and spoke in a much more serious tone.
"Ive known her a real long time, and I cant tell her yet cuz I'm kinda worried she only thinks of me like how Shizuru thinks of me." Yueske picked up on the seriousness of the situation and scoffed trying to lighten things up again.
"Well you are ugly, but I think she likes you anyway. Besides man, why asks me? You think I read them werid books?" Yueske pat Kuwabara awkwardly on the shoulder.
"No way. I asked cuz you have a girlfriend!!" Kuwabara turned to look at Yueske who was moving his arm away.
"So? Doesnt mean I know what im doing, just asks Keiko." The boys laugh, seeming to have calmed down a great deal. Before much more could be said, four familiar and approaching voices could be heard chatting playfully.
"Oh dear, you didnt actually take me seriously did you, Miyoko?" Botan said in a teasing tone.
"I did!! I'm gullible, you cant just tell me anything about spirit world.I will believe it!! Everytime!" The two girls laughed.
"I've noticed," Interjected Kurama. "You have managed to retained alot of attributes from your childhood haven't you? I find that interesting." Kurama continud, wrapping an arm around Botan.
"Alot of people say that...is that a bad thing? I'm not immature am I?" Miyoko felt nervous now. Maybe that was the why Kuwabara never seemed to return her feelings, perhaps she wasn't mature enough for a relationship.
Keiko quickly spouted, "No no! I don't think he meant it like that, I think it's cute!" Keiko put a reassuring arm around Miyoko and smiled a friendly smile.
"Ofcourse! Its an admirable trait." Kurama said as Botan giggled.
Botan wagged her finger and pointed it at Miyoko with a knowing smile "Im on to you! You shouldn't feel so insecure!" Botan pulled her arm back and used it to hug Kurama's arm. "Don't be so hard on yourself, I know you're simply nervous, so you're being extra critical of yourself, but you'll do fine!" Botan hummed encouragingly. "And, we all look fantastic!" Botan added as they all rounded the corner.
Keiko stopped dead in her tracks, and started tapping her foot. "Well, most of us are...Yueske! I thought I told you to dress up!!" Keiko pouted, walking over to her boyfriend's side.
Yueske was the most casually dressed out of all of them. Just wearing his usual faded blue jeans, black converse shoes, plain yellow shirt and favorite green and yellow windbreaker jacket. He looked even more underdressed standing next to Keiko. She was wearing a lovely pale pink turtleneck, a plum purple suspender skirt reaching to her knees, long white socks, and loafers to match her skirt. Despite their contrasting attire, they somehow matched perfectly.
Yueske wrapped his arm around Keiko's shoulder and smirked."Kuwabara isnt dressed up." He looked over to Kuwabara and nodded his way while jutting his thumb twords his friend.
"What!! I am too!! This is the nicest thing I got!! Other than like...a tux or something!!" Kuwabara wore a blue Letterman jacket, a red sweater with dark blue jeans, and brown dress boots laced in black, he was indeed dressed up quite nicely. Miyoko blushed at the sight of his clothing, he cleaned up nicely as always. She couldn't help but smile at him, it was always a slight surprise to see him out of his school uniform. Kuwabara had a simular reaction to Miyoko's choice of clothing. She dawned a wine red A-line dress, knitted black leggins, and shin high beige lace up boots. She wasn't one to dress up like this, but she wanted to tonight, it was a special night after all.
Trying to redirect the situation and prevent Yueske and Kuwabara from fighting, Botan chimed in. "Well, I never have to worry about Kurama when it comesto presentation! Unless ofcourse, he's overdressed and making me look a fool!" Kurama and Botan giggled to eachother looking the most put together, like they were the parents of the group. Tonight, everyone was going their part to help Miyoko's odds, evident by Botan, who was wearing something much different from her usual choice of clothing.
She modelled a white turtle neck dress, form fitting reaching just above her knees with a small slit on the right side, with sleeves that reached slightly past her palms, she wore her wedding ring, hoop earings, beige velvet tights, and blue slip on flats to top off the look. To match her, Kurama dressed just as nice. Wearing a white button up tucked neatly into his dark brown pants, red suspenders with red suede shoes laced in black, and a matching wool trench coat to top complete it all. Now everyone felt underdressed.
"So what are we doing anyway?" Yueske asked scratching his cheek. Keiko shook her head "Are you serious? You've been waiting around this long, and you dont even know why??" Yueske simpled shrugged "I guess?"
Botan sighed looking tired, Yueske was a handful for everyone. "Dont you remember, Yueske? I told you this morning! We're all having dinner!"
Botan motioned to the brick building everyone was standing next to. "You've been standing right next to the restaurant! Where I told you we would be meeting up, seriously! You didn't connect the dots?" Botan tilted her head with a hopeless look. Yueske gritted his teeth and roughly pulled Keiko by her hip to his, talking through his teeth. "Whatever!!" He sighed and let go of Keiko fixed his hair flustered, he brought his fists down onto his palm talking loudly. "So now that we're all here, can we go?? Im starving and you guys took all damn evening to get here!"
Keiko lightly kicked his shoe pouting up at him. "Hush!! Its not our fault you dont listen, besides you didnt even try to dress nice! So I dont feel sorry for you." Yuseke quickly stepped aside and raised his voice a bit "Hey! Didnt ya hear me?? I didn't know what was going on!!" Keiko roughly poked her boyfriend's chest, "Again, not our problem! Listen and you wouldn't have to worry!!"
Kurama was the first to put a stop to the bickering. He took a wide step twords the brick building and grabbed the glass doors handle, he opened the door and motioned for everyone fallow him inside.
So theres that. I'll write more soon. I hope its as fun to read as it was fun to write.

Bound by Circumstance ― Chapter 3: Of Monsters and Men
PAIRING: Nik Ryder x trans*M!MC (Taylor Hunter) RATING: Mature
⥼ MASTERLIST ⥽
⥼ Bound by Circumstance ⥽
Taylor Hunter (MC) has made it good for himself in New Orleans; turns out moving to a new city fresh out of college to reinvent yourself isn’t as hard as people make it out to be. Things only start to get confusing when he finds himself the target of a malevolent wraith. Good thing someone’s looking out for him though — because without Nighthunter Nik Ryder as his bodyguard he definitely won’t survive long in the twisting darkness of the supernatural underworld he’s tripped into.
Bound by Circumstance and the rest of the Oblivion Bound series is an ongoing dramatic retelling project of the book Nightbound and the rest of the Bloodbound series. Find out more [HERE].
Note: Circumstance only loosely follows the events and plotline of Nightbound, and features a separate antagonist, different character motivations, and further worldbuilding.
*Let me know if you would like to be added to the Circumstance/series tag list!
⥼ Chapter Summary ⥽
Taylor meets his new bodyguard, debates casual necromancy, and learns the truth behind his hallucinations. All while a fae makes him cream soda.
[READ IT ON AO3]
Taylor doesn’t remember waking up — one second he’s asleep and the next he just isn’t.
Despite the things he’s seen (not really seen, but thought he’s seen) he’s not a fan of these kinds of wakings. Would rather emerge slowly as if from a cocoon. With enough time between breaths and heartbeats to let the dreams that plagued him fade away into fuzzy oblivion — forgotten despite all efforts to bring them back to recent memory.
He prefers it because when he wakes all at once there’s no helping remembering his dreams.
And all of that — the cemetery, Vera’s gloves, Kristin’s tears, the moon and moldy flowers — definitely isn’t something he wants to linger on.
“Are you gonna freak out now? Because these walls ain’t soundproofed.”
The voice resists its accent; clips sounds the Louisiana slang wants to let hang. He’s never heard it before but doesn’t need to.
It does the trick. Reminds Taylor how easily the world of dreams can blend with reality.
He takes in his surroundings with eyes still shut. The scratchy pilling on the cushions underneath, the stale air that’s made his shirt stick sweaty to his body, the repetitive squeak of a portable fan that should have retired a lifetime ago.
If he keeps his eyes shut will it all go away? Can it really be that easy?
Of course it isn’t. He knows it, the stranger knows it… but still a guy can dream.
“I know you’re awake, kid,” the stranger continues, “sleepin’ people don’t breathe like that.”
Taylor’s nose scrunches. “Don’t watch me breathe.”
“Then don’t breathe weird.”
The fact I‘m not hyperventilating right now is a fucking miracle, Taylor wants to say back — doesn’t in favor of inhaling so hard his nostrils burn before letting it out in a whistle on his dry lips.
Instead he snaps his eyes open and stares at the bald patches of peeling paint on the popcorn ceiling.
Something shifts behind him; the squeak of leather on pleather.
“You’re handlin’ this awful well.”
No, he’s really not. “I’m not unfamiliar with waking up on strange couches.”
“Is that so?”
Taylor doesn’t like the way the voice drops into a suggestive purr. It’s enough to get him to sit up on his elbows and try to shake the fog from his head. The familiar words, “how much did I drink last night?” are on the tip of his tongue but without the pounding headache there to accompany them they just don’t feel right.
A hand appears out of the corner of his eye. He watches scarred knuckles on tanned skin flex silvery as a nondescript flask is placed on one of the coffee table’s few bare spots.
“Here — this’ll help. Trust me.”
Taylor takes it. Can smell the familiar simmering honey and spice of whiskey. But he isn’t even tempted — screws the cap back on and sets it pack with a little too much purpose.
The stranger gives a ‘huh’ of surprise. “You sure? It’s not top shelf, but —”
“I’m gonna say this once;” as he does Taylor sits up and digs his knuckles into his eyes to quell the dizzy rush, “don’t ever offer me alcohol again. Please.”
As bright and inconsistent colors flash before his sight there’s silence.
Then, “fair enough,” and takes back the flask.
He can’t immediately tell if the stranger is just prone to dramatics or if the positioning of the lamp-sans-shade is purposefully there to shroud his rescuer (or kidnapper) in all the shadows the apartment can offer.
But it’s definitely him: the guy from the dive bar. Where his memory ends his eyes pick up the slack and fill in the sharp face like a puzzle. Dark eyes — almost black — and evidence of a five o-clock shadow. A little bit of a greying sheen to the hairs at his temples. And a strange scar like an inverted triangle brushed flippantly from left temple to eyebrow to the top of his cheekbone.
So he’s the quintessential ‘rugged, grizzled, don’t-play-by-the-rules’ type. Which, in Taylor’s opinion, just makes the worn leather trench coat overkill.
And his very presence makes things very very complicated.
Makes his head incite a full-on civil war between the things he knows and the things he’s seen — not to speak of the independent faction trying to resist both.
The man grabs something small off of the stand beside him and a glass of water — takes one of Taylor’s hands off of his jeans and pushes it into his palm in a very non-negotiable style.
“At least take this. That headache looks real fierce. Won’t work as fast as the booze, though.”
Oh, he knows. But he’s glad for something to help no matter how little and washes down the aspirin tablet with the entire water glass.
Judging by the awkward silence that follows neither Taylor nor the man know how to actually… begin. Because there needs to be a beginning — maybe not right now but there was earlier and if he thinks about it too much, if he lets his imagination run wild and spiral, he’ll start to panic.
Last time he checked panic wouldn’t bring Kristin back from the dead.
Kristin. Oh god. He needs to find her body.
“Can I…?” He raises the glass. The stranger slaps his knees and hauls himself up with possibly too-much dramatic effort and takes it to refill. “Thanks.”
“Sure.”
It’s a small apartment with only as many walls as needed. Ideally Taylor would prefer a room between him and the man to make his escape (which will be the exact opposite of stealthy) a little bit easier, but…
He waits until the leather-clad back is turned before slowly starting to stand. Not one step and the fucking floor creaks underfoot.
Shit. “Uh — can I get some ice?” Taylor asks; louder than necessary to cover it up.
The man (probably) rolls his eyes. “Want a straw while I’m at it? Maybe a little pink umbrella?”
“I’d prefer yellow.”
“I bet you would.”
Taylor waits, poised like a viper, and strikes when the ice maker on the fridge door begins to rumble to life. Dashes as fast as he can — though it isn’t until he moves more than an inch that he realizes just how sore everything is — to what looks like every closed front door he’s ever seen.
Aaaand it’s locked.
There’s a deep rich laughter behind him as Taylor yanks on the brass handle; twists the lock this way and that in his growing panic and previously undiscovered claustrophobia.
When he looks back the man is behind him, glass in hand — with ice, too.
“Stop laughing!” Taylor’s voice cracks — makes him wince.
With a shake of his head the man approaches. Taylor tenses for some sort of assault but instead watches dumbly while his personal space is invaded. Damn this guy is tall.
“Stop being so funny.”
“What kind of fucking sicko locks an apartment from the outside?!”
Bemusement falls into a slight frown. He flinches, feels the stranger reach around…
The door unlocks with a click.
“Dunno, but I’ll let you know when I meet one.”
Not a second into looking up and up into the man’s face does Taylor push him back. Keeps his back pressed against the door and blindly searches for the knob but forces distance between them.
It doesn’t take a psychic to know he’s wary. The stranger sighs and scratches the back of his head.
“Listen — I ain’t holdin’ you hostage, or anything. You’re free to go.” But before Taylor can even twist his wrist he adds; “Not that I’d really wanna run the risk of facing Casper’s Cannibal Cousin again but that’s just me. You seem like a strong, capable guy. Lemme know how it goes.”
Fuck.
Taylor gives him a wary eye. “Are we — I mean… am I actually safe here?”
“With the wards on this place you’d have a hard time being stung by a really pissed-off mosquito.”
“Not funny.”
“Who’s laughing?”
Somehow they end up back in the same positions they were a minute earlier; Taylor’s fingers wet and numb from the glass and the other, well, he couldn’t look more like a middle-aged drunk if he tried; especially now with the coat off and thrown over the back of his chair.
“Do you have a name?” Taylor tries — and fails — not to let it get to him when he gets only a nod. “Wanna share?”
“Just call me Ryder.”
“No.”
“Why?”
“It’s not your name.”
“Yes it is.”
“It’s dumb.”
“You’re dumb.”
A tense and silent stand-off follows. This is why he doesn’t spend much one-on-one time with cis-men, not that Taylor would say that out loud.
Finally ‘Ryder’ relents; “My first name’s Nik. Nobody calls me Nik — they just call me Ryder. That means you’ll call me Ryder, too.”
Well he won’t, but that’s beside the point. “And where are we? Are we still in New Orleans?”
The question catches Ryder by surprise.
“‘Course we are. Just a couple’a blocks over from Bourbon.”
“Oh, good.”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
He tries not to feel peeled back into layers by the scrutiny of Ryder’s gaze but with eyes like that it’s kind of impossible. Makes him freeze up — words forgotten.
“Is that really all you wanna ask?”
His face flushes hot. “No, of course not.”
“Then ask.”
“Ask what?”
“You know what.”
“No I don’t,” again his voice cracks — makes him focus on the wet spot the glass leaves on his jeans rather than the look on Ryder’s face, “like — I really don’t. Because… because my head is telling me to ask ‘what happened’ but when I think about it I automatically default back to the fact that nothing about it makes sense — nothing about it could have been real.”
Ryder takes too long to respond.
“Just because it doesn’t make sense doesn’t mean it wasn’t real, Taylor.”
And doesn’t that just fire off a spark in his brain. Makes him turn and slam the glass down and give Ryder the hardest, worst, and most rueful look he can.
“Fine — you want me to ask questions? We’ll start with — with that. How d’you know my name?”
The man shrugs. “Because I’m being paid to.”
“You’re being…” —oh the headache— “so you were stalking me in the bar?”
“No.”
“Uh, you just admitted it.”
“Uh, no I didn’t.” Taylor must’ve hit a nerve judging by the tick in Ryder’s scarred brow. “Strange as it may seem — and we really ain’t short on strange with all this — I wasn’t hired until after I left the Touristy Unicorn.”
That doesn’t help. “Hired for what?”
“For protection detail; bodyguard stuff. For you, kid.”
Does he look like his brain is short-circuiting, because that’s definitely how he feels. And in his silence Ryder takes the opportunity to keep talking without being harassed. “I wouldn’t’ve taken it on a normal day but, shit, you ain’t normal. Not even taking into account that you saw me in my booth —”
“— No shit I saw you. You were just sitting there.”
Ryder shakes his head. “Sure was but I was glamoured up to the nines. Nothing under a century or without some heavy magical aid should have been able to see me.”
Taylor disregards his crazy talk — he has proof. “My friend saw you first.”
“Who, the tipsy co-ed?” he barks a laugh, “Nah, she was more focused on the two mashing mouths to my side. Was too hard to enjoy my drink with the sound of sloppy spit-swappin’ for me to forget.
“She may have been seeing the world a little liquored-up but she definitely didn’t know I was there. But you? You looked right at me; saw right through my glamour and with no small amount of effort judgin’ by how sick you looked after.”
His headache. And wasn’t that what had started all of… of whatever this was? His headache and wanting to go home, getting lost with no signal, and then…
There’s no resisting the permafrost that blankets over his bones. When Taylor looks at Ryder he doesn’t see him; just sees the outline of him and that awful haunting thing in his mind’s eye.
Ryder continues; “You can turn the paranoia down a notch. I was content to mind my own business until I got a call on a damn payphone nearby.”
“A… payphone?”
“Well they don’t ring on their own. And in this town if someone in the know crosses by a phone ringin’ on its lonesome then that means its for them.” He sniffs; brushes something off like it’s no big deal and Taylor’s the fool for not just knowing. “Picked it up and there it was in my head: your face, your name, and the message. That’s how you know there’s something heavy hangin’ in the air… the kind of spellwork that can dig into your head without a trace.”
Magic. Spellwork. This is too fucking nuts.
Still, he has to ask. “What was the message?”
“‘Protect him.’”
How foreboding and creepy that is — well he’ll deal with that later. Because up until shit went down he didn’t need protecting. Had done a fair job of protecting himself all his life. But how can you protect yourself from things you don’t know about?
“What was it?” When there’s no quirky quip Taylor knows he’s starting to ask the right things. “What was that thing in the cemetery?”
“I…”
“Come on, Mister Answers. Where’d your answers go?”
“Hey, now you just —”
“What was it?”
“I don’t know!” Ryder growls through gritted teeth. It’s the first time his posturing slips — shoulders slumped and instinctively seeking comfort in the contents of the flask. “I don’t… I don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of crazy shit; the dead, undead, the undead-dead. But I’ve never seen anything even remotely close to whatever the hell that was.”
Some bodyguard, he wants to say — doesn’t. Strange as it is Taylor finds himself comforted by the fact that he’s not the only one completely ignorant.
Not that it lasts long. Because when his brain finally puts everything together — shadows and skeletal killers and spellwork and the fact that the thing he’s been thinking was a flagpole leaning against the wall has a bright crystal atop it and is most likely something ridiculous like a wizard’s staff — it shuts off.
At least he’s got his answers.
Ryder knocks back the rest of the flask and tucks it between the cushions in his chair. Leans forward elbows-on-knees and studies Taylor’s face.
“I’ve been waitin’ for you to ask me what happened before you keeled over,” he says finally, “but now I’m not so sure you wanna know.”
“I do,” he answers on autopilot.
“You sure?”
He’s sure.
The story Taylor expects goes something like…
“I drew a circle around the creature, sated from its kill. Using the blood of my ancestors and sacred herbs I’ve been cultivating for this exact moment, I conjured magical holy fire and banished the demon back to the depths of Hell.”
But that’s not what he gets.
“I thought I had a shot when you went into hiding — you know how damn hard it is to chase something chasin’ somethin’ else through that shit? — but lost it again. Finally found you at the entryway and used the thing’s distraction to get a few arrows lodged in its, uh, well I think it was its back.
“Thing is those were holy light arrows I used. Blessed by every priest in every religion you’ve heard of and some you ain’t. I’ve used those things to take down malformed conjurings, hundred year-old revenants, the works. But it was about as effective as throwing a rock at its head.”
“I’m guessing that’s a bad thing.”
“You’d be guessin’ correctly.”
Taylor runs his hands over his face. Shoves down the thickness that wants to consume his lungs and keep him there; solid, immobile.
“Okay, okay —” talking more to himself than Ryder, “— okay. This is good. Crazy, but good.”
The look he’s given really shouldn’t be a surprise. “Did I break ya?”
“No — I mean, maybe, but not with that — no you… actually you saved me. So I’m grateful for that. Thank you.”
Ryder snorts. “Finally…”
“But you didn’t save Kristin. So I’m going to push down every… every problem I have with everything you said and pretend with all this crazy that conjurings and holy arrows and whatever-the-fuck-else is real —”
“It is. But, kid —”
“— And you’re gonna help me find some voodoo or hoo-doo or whatever kind of spell you can that’ll bring her back.”
The fact that Ryder doesn’t look the least bit remorseful is an issue he’ll deal with later — though that plate is starting to get a little crowded. But if the universe seems intent on throwing him into this fucking insanity with no warning or even a tutorial mode then he’s going to meet it head-on and screw the rest.
He leans forward and starts rifling through the leather-bound books, tomes, and sheets of paper scattered on the coffee table. “So what here can help us? Do we need a lock of hair, or a personal item, or —”
“She ain’t dead, kid.”
Taylor nods but doesn’t really register what he hears. “Got it. Dead meaning, what, her soul hasn’t crossed over yet? Is she still on the, uh, the mortal plane or something?” He looks around wildly; lifts up his feet like he’ll find her hiding there in miniature.
“Shit — is she here with us? Can you see her? Kristin? Krissy?”
“Whoa — okay, yep, you’ve cracked.”
Then Ryder’s hands are on his shoulders and oh hell no. His body reacts before the brain can catch up and he’s pushing Ryder away — giving himself breathing space.
“Don’t touch me.”
Much like the flask it’s an issue Ryder doesn’t push. Holds his hands up and gives a curt nod but that doesn’t make him look any less concerned. Now he’ll start to argue with the man, because technically it’s his fault Kristin died in the first place.
“There’s gotta be something —”
“To get you to chill out and listen to me? Yeah I doubt it.”
“— No. To help us contact her.”
“Could try a phone.”
Taylor snaps. “This isn’t a joke! I don’t know this crazy stuff like you do. So stop making jokes and — and help me!”
“Christ,” Ryder rubs his head — leans forward but doesn’t make a move to put his hands on Taylor again, “if you’d listen you’d not sound so damn stupid! She’s not dead, Taylor. The thing didn’t kill her.”
No, no… he saw…
“I won’t say it didn’t get close but she wasn’t the target. I don’t know if that limits it’s powers or… or hell, maybe it was feeling merciful or malicious. But your friend ain’t dead. — In a bad way… but not dead.”
It’s not even in the realm of good news — what did that mean, ‘in a bad way’ — but it’s the best news he’s heard yet so yeah he fucking runs with it. Leaps to his feet and doesn’t even bother trying to misdirect Ryder this time because not only is the door unlocked but he’s going to see Kristin alive.
And, really, with the zeal in which he was ready to pursue some form of necromancy to bring her back he’s kind of disappointed in how surprised Ryder sounds behind him.
“Kid — where d’you think you’re goin’ exactly?”
Still walking to the door, only backwards now. “Where do you think? Is she at the hospital, which one? Come on — take me there.”
“Well that ain’t happening but regardless how about we stay up here instead?”
“How about we don’t?”
“Kid —”
“First I need you to stop calling me that. Second I’ll grab a cab if I need to. Thanks, Nik—Ryder—whatever for saving me but I need to go see her.”
Ryder doesn’t stop him from slamming the apartment door behind him and finding his way out. That must mean he’s not entirely devoted to this bodyguard job, right? If that’s even really the case. Not like he has any proof.
It’s probably guilt at not saving her in time, rationalizes Taylor as he looks around the crowded hallway only to spot a winding, iron-wrought staircase almost hidden in the corner.
That makes the most sense. He feels guilty and there was nothing he could have even done in the first place.
Though, finding out where Ryder gets those hallelujah arrows might help.
He’s at the bottom of the steps when he remembers Vera had his phone last — is halfway through entertaining the idea of going back up to ask Ryder if he could borrow his when he takes in the ground level.
“Are you fucking kidding me?”
It’s still dark outside but dawn has to be on the approach — last call having already been there, done that.
The bar is small and he can only think of it as oaken. Wood floors on wooden-panel walls with a wooden bartop in the corner decorated in carvings so small and detailed they could only have been done by hand. Even the booths are wooden on the outside with what look like rich mossy-green velvet lining.
But the place doesn’t smell like a woodshop — not how one would expect what has to be a quarter of the population of Louisiana’s deforestation, has to be — rather a forest. Like all the wood is still growing and alive. Pine needles and sap and mulchy earth digging into his bare toes and proving life continues to live underfoot.
Though when he wiggles his toes Taylor is almost surprised to discover he’s got his shoes on.
The place is empty save for two patrons and a lanky young man behind the counter.
One man, hulking in stature no doubt even if he’s bent over the table before him, scribbles diligently in a notebook with a glass of something bright at his side. Must have one of those cheesy lite-cubes within because he could swear the drink is pulsing color.
The other is a woman mostly obscured by the bar and her ombre violet sheen of hair. She’s gotta be decorated for Mardi Gras though the bone-white hand she twirls a lock of hair around would be more suited for a Día de Muertos party.
She notices him first — offers a flawless grin of black lipstick and white teeth before she learns forward and whispers something to the bartender.
He rounds on a practically choreographed flourish of his heel. Beams wide and unabashed as though he’s greeting an old friend and not a complete stranger.
“Taylor, my mortal! Good to see you again. You look famished. Are you famished? You look famished. I should get you something. Are you a vodka-type or a gin-type? You know what — I’ll fix a couple options up. Variety is the spice of life!”
Before Taylor can even process the English language enough to turn him down the bartender disappears in a shock of his albino-white hair. Leaves him staring at the silvery fabric of the partition.
“Garrus is a hoot, isn’t he?” asks the goth girl — she waves over a hand and pats a stool beside her in invitation. “Come, come! I wanna see what he whips up and you will too.”
He casts a longing look to what has to be the front door of the place — the only thing that isn’t wood, as he notes the iron decor with irony. But can’t even step in that direction before she clears her throat in a way that says she won’t take no for an answer.
So… he sits? He sits.
“I’m surprised Ryder didn’t come down with you. Or did you let him drink himself asleep?”
Taylor shakes his head. “No, he’s… he let me go.”
“Huh, funky.” She taps long dark nails against her cheek and stares at him with wonder. Underneath the strange combination of lights she looks even more pale than he thought — almost translucent. It must be her makeup that makes it look like her veins run black under her skin.
There’s a throbbing in his temples so Taylor looks away out of habit.
“You should call your friend back.”
“Why? It’ll be a good show — and even if it’s not your fancy you’ll still get free booze out of it.”
“Well I don’t drink.”
“Drink what, vodka, gin? I knew I called you for a tequila man.”
“No,” and headache aside he looks grim into her purple color-contacts, “like at all. I’m sober.”
Just as the girl’s expression falls into embarrassed horror the curtain brushes back as if by a gust of wind. The bartender Garrus barrels forward with an actual cauldron in his arms and every nook and twiggy-armed cranny filled with various corked bottles and vials.
“Not for lo~ong!” he sing-songs. Drops his things carelessly on the bar surface and starts picking through them intently. “Now I could have sworn I had more cane root than this, but maybe if I sub in —”
Taylor goes to speak but the gaunt hand on his arm stops him short.
“Garrus, he’s sober.”
“I know, Ivy my love, I heard. Honestly what was Ryder thinking trying to unload all this on the poor man without even offering him a drink?”
Ivy gives a sigh of honestly and precariously balances on thick-sole heels to reach over and grab Garrus’ next glassy victim out of reach.
“H-Hey,” he practically whines, “that’s not in the spirit of things!”
“Listen to me,” and Taylor’s grateful she’s going through all the trouble but can’t not laugh when she sandwiches her friend’s face in both hands, “sweetheart — he is sober; dry, straight-laced, whatever you want to call it — go for it. But this human no drinkey.”
If that’s what it would have taken for Taylor to get the man to stop he isn’t entirely sure he’d have had the guts to do it.
As it is Garrus looks like he’s taking it personally before their eyes meet and his face goes flushed pink all the way to the tips of his rather pointy ears.
“Oh.”
Ivy resumes her seat cheerily. “My work here is done.”
“S-Sorry,” Taylor tries to offer, “I’ll take a coke if you’re really, uh, insistent.”
Garrus is interrupted before he can answer. And by a voice that rings startlingly familiar, too.
“Why not whip up one of those old cream colas for him, Garrus? You were just talking about how much you missed making them.”
It’s enough to put the pep back in his leather-booted step. Has Garrus clapping in delight and pointing between them to the only occupied booth with a wink.
“Darling, you’re a genius!”
Garrus gathers up his cauldron and brews; dashes back behind the curtain. Taylor meanwhile whirls around on the stool cushion to the vaguely recognizable face previously ducked in concentration.
Krum — that was his name, right? The more-mountain-than-man he had bumped into heading home from rehearsal earlier that day.
Who gave Taylor the early triggers of a panic attack in how his skin seemed to turn to a literal mountain under the company lights.
Who pushes up an almost comically tiny pair of spectacles and gazes back at Taylor with similar vague recognition.
“Understudy-boy?” He pulls off his glasses and wipes the lenses with the hem of his sweater — as if he’s the one hallucinating things and not the other way around. “Well I’ll be, it’s you!”
Ivy joins the conversation while sipping her margarita through a stirring straw. “You know this guy, Krom?”
“K-Krum.” corrects Taylor.
“Well actually,” says the man in question sheepishly as he slides out of his seat and comes to join them, “it is Krom. It’s a family name, too, and I’m very proud of it. But mortals never hear it right and I just sort of stopped correcting them.”
Ivy croons. “You gotta get thicker skin you big lug.”
When Krom tries to take the stool next to him, though, Taylor flinches back violently. Practically falls off his seat in his haste to get back. His ‘little throbbing’ is a full-on migraine now; the lights too bright and the smells too weird and he has to back up and steady himself on the nearest support column to keep from vomiting all over the nice shiny floors.
Like most concerned samaritans Ivy and Krom are on him in an instant. Their voices blurring together with the ringing in his ears; “Honey are you okay? — what happened — oh no did I hurt him — go get Ryder!”
“NO!”
He’s startled when he realizes it’s him yelling — not them. Blinks through teary eyes to look into the expressions of two ordinary people warped and twisted by his traitorous mind.
Ivy’s makeup looks melded to her face — like if she catches the light a certain way he’ll see her skeleton and the lines above are the tension of her muscles. And Krom is still a literal mountain man but in high-granite definition; he swears he even hears stone grind with every movement.
“Oh god…” he wails and covers his eyes. Scratches at them like maybe he can claw off the tears instead of just wiping them away.
In the bright darkness there’s muttered, muffled noises. Footsteps echoing on wood, then metal.
Then the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He knows there’s a hand hovering just above the surface of him.
“The more you go on fightin’ it, kid, the more it’ll hurt.”
He doesn’t have to open his eyes to imagine the look on Ryder’s face.
Words seem impossible but he finally manages to grit it out. “I won’t.”
“Won’t what?”
“I won’t give in. I’m sober. I’m sober!”
He manages two good smacks to his skull before Ryder snatches his wrist ironclad. “Hey—Hey! Stop that!”
“I’m sober fuck’s sakes! This should have stopped! I’m sober and I’m not. crazy!”
They struggle over his hand but Ryder’s strength beats out Taylor’s fright and panic. Just lets it hang limp in midair in the calloused grip.
“You were up there with me fully ready to take on some high-level necromancy bullshit and this is what sets you off?”
“You were gonna let him do what?!”
“Relax, Iv’, relax,” Ryder sighs, “I wasn’t gonna let him do it. But still he believed. You did believe, didn’t you?”
Did he? He doesn’t know. Can’t even tell if he’s still awake right now or if this is all some awful feverish nightmare he can only hope to never have again with the help of his sponsor.
Ryder tries again. Closer, this time — almost a whisper.
“Didn’t you?”
“I —” the whole bar hangs on his every word, “— I think so.”
“So believe me now when I say this: you aren’t crazy. Weird I guess, and maybe a bit gutsy. But not crazy.”
It isn’t much. But it’s enough for him to pry his eyes open and look at the man above him through the tears.
“You don’t get it. I… they look like…”
“Like what?”
He shudders the words out; “Like monsters.”
“HA!”
The cackle — or shriek — is so loud and so close it startles both of them out of their closeness; out of the intimacy of his admission. Makes them both look at where Ivy sits cross-legged on the floor with them sucking on a lollipop.
“Well I should sure hope so,” she teases, “because my glamour looks like a cheap imitation of the real thing! That’s what I get for skimping with B-O-G-O spell goods.”
Glamour. He knows that word. And Ryder knows he knows too judging by the wry little smile he gets. “Yeah, them too.”
“But —”
“Glamours are for all kinds’a things, kid. Here, c’mon up ya get,” with both hands Ryder helps him stand, “that particular one of mine was for secrecy. Most common ones you’ll run into though are harmless little shifts — ways to make the not-so-human look a little bit more that way.”
There’s a gasp and all eyes fall on Krom, now fully stone. His hairline replaced by filed-off pointed edges and skin rippling with crystalline sediment.
“You can see through glamours?” He asks, mortified.
Ivy’s black lips peel back with her grin. “Wicked.”
Garrus appears from around the bar with interest. Still pale but there’s no denying the actual point and tilt of his ears or the way his skin seems to almost shimmer. His eyes pale but reflective like bright diamonds.
“I wondered what set off my wards when Ryder here dragged you in. Seeing through glamours is some high-level magic. What’ve you charmed?” He looks Taylor over with interest.
“What have I… what?”
Ryder answers for him. “Already did my due diligence, guys. He’s not wearing anything charmed — he is charmed. Can see through the veil au natural.”
“Wicked.” repeats Ivy.
“Guess you’re my not-so-mortal, huh?”
Krom shakes his head with hands clasped together. “No wonder you were so frightened at the company. I’m so sorry, Taylor. I had no idea.”
Taylor swallows but manages a smile. “It’s… it’s okay. Not your fault, right?”
And the more he looks at them — really looks instead of seeing passing glimpses and resisting their existence — the less everything hurts. The ringing in his ears fades and like a drum at the end of a song his head abruptly clears. Along with the clouds that seem to hang invisible over his head every time he has one of his hallucinations.
But they aren’t hallucinations. They’re real.
It’s all real.
There’s a hesitation before Ryder lightly touches his shoulder. Taylor doesn’t flinch away — in fact a little human (maybe?) warmth is kinda comforting.
“You good?”
“Y-Yeah, I think so,” he inhales shakily, “I just can’t believe it’s all… I mean that it’s not in my head. It’s real. Everything I’ve seen is… is real.”
But everything means everything. Makes his heart settle down somewhere in the region his stomach ought to be occupying.
Makes him look Ryder head-on.
“So why does it want me dead?”

I want to tell you... (Nathan Drake x reader, part 3.)
Description: Nathan Drake is not the exact definition of an unhappy man. His job is steady, his friends still see him from time to time, he plays football, but his marriage is his main problem. Many things will change when a special person comes to his life.
Word count: 2 600 (+/-)
Warnings: The reader will appear! Let’s get the game on!
Mood: I am really on the indie vibe lately, so I feel like Crush by Tessa Violet.
@the-obsessive-fangirl, have a lovely summer day! And @missdictatorme knows what is about to happen. Prepare for insanely cute Nate.
“Alright, cutie,” - Nathan spoke with himself, quickly moving his eyes on the page of the cooking book where the page with Creme Brulee was opened. Nathan often spoke to himself when he was cooking and other co-workers found it cute. But when he spoke his food, screaming Don’t you catch on fire with me for example, was a whole another thing which made them sincerely laugh.
Nathan really enjoyed cooking since he was growing up, that was a thing that not much people knew about him. His passion and love for it made him an excellent cook - he was never afraid to do some experiments with food, he learned a lot of new things and eating food prepared by Nathan was like trying food from heaven, at least Chloe was telling it.
“Let’s look at how you’re made, right?” He looked into the recipe once more, checking if he has all of the things he needed to have for having the best and balanced Brulee of them all.
It was truly raining heavily outside, there was a big storm outside, to be honest. It could be considered a hurricane already because it was something crazy out there. Nate was glad that he was in the restaurant, safe and warm and that he could do what he loved the most.
At least Elena called that morning from Thailand, where she was currently staying, telling him that the storm was there as well but she wanted to assure him, that she's fine and well. He was glad that she called him.
"I love you." - He whispered with a shy smile, looking into one of the hanging pans. Before, Elena would answer immediately. But this time, it was completely silent for a few seconds on the other side.
"I need to go, Nate. Stay safe and don't do any dumb stuff. Promise?" - She joked, but it hurt Nathan directly next to his heart. He still cares about her, about her safety and about her feelings, but she was on lockdown for four months or so.
Nathan shook these thoughts out of his head and he stuck his tongue out as he concentrated on the Creme Brulee. It wasn't much time from that when he heard knocking on the restaurant's door.
He thought that he only overheard himself - it was raining outside and the restaurant was closed. Nathan furrowed his brows and stood up straight up when he heard the knocking again. He checked that everything was on its place so the kitchen won't catch on fire and he made his way to the actual part with tables, chair, and a bar. They were closed, who would try to knock their way into the restaurant while there was a hurricane outside?
Nathan tried to stay as hidden as the door let him, he would not open some random hobo person. He would give them something warm, food and water - but it would be a big risk to let them inside. But instead of a hobo, there was a woman figure standing outside in the rain with her palms covering her eyes as she looked inside.
The woman saw Nate instantly, waving at him and smiling in a dorky way. Nathans first instinct was to go and help that woman inside. It was a cold, rainy mess when he opened the door, the wind almost blew him away from the door as the woman practically run inside and helped him to close the door with every of the lock they had.
Only after that, Nathan turned at her, and he must have looked like a fool at that moment. She truly was gorgeous. Wet hair fell around her face in a messy way and her skin was slippery and wet from the rain; which made her cheeks completely rosy. She was trying to catch her breath with her lips opened a little and her eyes closed. That woman only wore a trench coat, which made no sense in this type of weather, jeans and some classy shoes. She probably didn't see the weather coming or she thought that she'll be alright.
Nathan had an unreadable expression on his face, still looking at her as she was leaning into the glass. She started laughing, which made Nathans face even softer and his eyes started to shine.
He felt like if he knew her since forever, he had a feeling that he knew her eyes and the tone of her laugh was so light-hearted and cute that it made his stomach shrunk in a tickling way. She made his heart beat faster without him noticing and his fingers tremble a bit. He didn't even remember when he felt so instantly happy and... Nervous. That girl made him nervous.
“Man, you saved my life. I thought that nobody’s going to answer.” - She spoke all of a sudden, made him even more struck on the spot. Nathan wide his eyes, watching her face. She had nice contours even tho her make-up was on a run.
“How-how.” - He tried to spoke but coughed into his hand when he felt that his own voice is falling apart from her. - “How did you even know that there is somebody out here? I mean, what if you knocked on an empty restaurant?” - Nathan gave her one of his cheesy smiles, standing on his feet and looking her into eyes because he found them so gorgeous he wasn't even able to breathe.
“Your car is parking in the aisle next to the restaurant.” - She waved in car’s direction and Nathan assumed that it is a pretty logical consideration. - “Or so I was hoping for that to be the truth. And the bars on the doors were lifted and so I tried my luck. You aren't the brightest, right?” - She said in a playful voice as she started laughing again. Nathan leaned his head to his shoulder and he felt ashamed a bit. It was practically obvious that there's someone inside.
“I will pretend that I didn't hear that. I mean that thing you practically said that I am dumb.” - Nathan tried to show her his most charming smile, offering her his palm. He was sweaty because of the nervousness and she was as cold as an iceberg and wet from the rain, so he was praying that she wouldn't notice.
“I haven't said that you are dumb! You make me look rude now, Jesus. My names Y/N and I think that we should start from the begging again, no mean comments now, I swear.” - She put a hand on her heart with a sweet smile like she if swore to Nathan.
“Name’s Nate and you're freezing, aren't you?” - Nate slowly let go of her hand, turning to walk back to his kingdom. Y/N slowly followed him-
“I am, in fact, freezing. You are very bright in fact.” - She winked with a smile. She was trying to make him forget about that little escapade which happened minutes ago and Nate just shook his head at that. He opened the door to the kitchen and she just stood there with an unsure look.
“Can I even go there?” - Y/N asked with a frown on her face, which made Nathan twitch inside again. What the hell was he doing? Or, most importantly, why did his body react to that girl the way it did? - “I mean, isn't it a food hygiene risk? To have a dirty, wet human in your kitchen? Wouldnt some hygiene guy be seriously mad about that?”
Nathan had to laugh a little when he saw her unsure expression. Her eyes were twitching between him and his hand on the door as he was patiently waiting for her.
“As long as you don't pee or spit your saliva anywhere, I think we're cool. Come in.” - Nathan smiled at her, letting her pass directly next to him. When he smelled her perfume, he almost fell to the ground. It was a sweet scent and the rain only made it stand out. He almost fainted.
“I will give you my towel, I'll just go for it to the dressing room, alright? Just don't steal anything, I beg you.” - Nathan ran off to that room with a childish smile as he could hear that he made her laugh again. She had such a sweet laugh! She definitely caught his eyes with some magic, or he couldn't rationalize his excited behavior.
When he got back, he almost fainted. She took the coat off and she had only a green shirt on, and it was completely dumped from water as well, so his eyes didn't have to imagine any of her curves - they saw it right away. Nathan felt like he shouldn't stare, so he turned away from her, only giving her his towel.Y/N accepted it with a small smile, leaning her ass into one of the counters, watching the surrounding and firstly trying to make her hair somehow dry before she wrapped the towel around her body.
“So what some hot drink and food sound like?” - Nathan looked at her as he cleaned up his place from his experimental baking.
“I don't know mate. I don't have much money with me.” - Y/N shrugged her shoulders, but Nate smiled at her.
“Let me ask again. Would you like me to cook something and make you a cup of something?” - Nathan opened up the fridge as he picked some of the freshest tomatoes they had. He had a perfect food in his mind - tomato sauce and pasta. Easy, quick and delicious.
“I guess so. You’re so persistent. I have like... Fifteen bucks? Would that be enough?” - Y/N grabbed her purse, frantically searching for money.
“Don't bother and be my guest. I'll pay for you afterward.” - Nate chuckled and started to chop the tomatoes. He also started the kettle, deciding that English black tea with some honey would suit her the best at her current state.
“What were you doing at that storm outside, huh? It makes me look a lot brighter than you.” - He said as he concentrated on making the onion and garlic just perfect while they were frying in the pan.
“We moved here like two days ago. I heard in the news that there will be some stormy weather, but I never thought it could be that bad.” - She hummed as she sipped the tea, sitting on the counter next to his wooden cutting board, moving her legs from side to side. - “And I got lost in the city. Which made me come here.”
“We moved in?” - Nathan asked in a concerned voice as he watched the curve of her nose. She had a beautiful nose. He was chopping some basal as well, feeling her body being ridiculously close to his hand. What was wrong with him?
He assumed that she is talking about some roommate or a friend, sharing their flat during their studies. She seemed to be an intelligent and bright lady, surely at least five years younger than him. If she wasn't even younger. She could be a college student.
“Yeah, I started to study my bachelor degree here since my junior college ended. It felt like the best choice.” - Y/N answered, not revealing with whom she moved in here. Nathan was curious about that information a lot, but he didn't want to look like some weird psycho, so he didn't ask further questions.
They ate together in the kitchen, telling some really interesting stories to each other - Y/N talked about her hometown a lot and Nathan tried to charm her with some of the thrilling stories from his adventure. Their sense of humor got along really well. Nathan truly liked that feeling of getting to know her better, he liked how he could make her eyes shine when she laughed. His heart beat faster and faster just because she was looking at him and his cheeks got rosy when she said that his cooking skills were over the top.
They were about to open a bottle of a really sweet wine which got along with a bit of bitterness that the tomatoes had when her phone started to ring.
And his heart almost coldly sank into his stomach when he was that sweet nickname and a photo of some handsome lad. Nathan couldn't understand his feelings, he felt betrayed and sad. Y/N smiled at him and picked up the call.
“Hey, babe.” - She whispered to the phone as she leaned further away from him. Nathans heart jumped at the tone of it but sank immediately when he realized that she didn't call him that nickname. He moved away and started to clean up that place, letting only the wine glasses between them. - “Yeah, don't worry. I am safe and I made a friend here. Yeah. A first friend in this city. Crazy, I know.”
Nathan looked on how water was brushing his hands and frowned. Why was he sad? He was married. And he got his ring on his left hand the whole time. Y/N could spot it easily. But even tho she could see it, he didn't like being friend-zoned. It wasn't a nice thing at all.
“I am in that Italian restaurant which is like... Ten minutes from our flat? I think. You know that my orientation sucks.” - She laughed when her boyfriend asked her something. - “Alright. Alright. Be safe. I love you. Bye.” She hung up and started to take the towel from her body.
“I loved being around you, I truly did. My boyfriend just got home and he’ll pick me up in our car here, so no need to open up that wine. It would be too expansive then anyway.” - Y/N took a pen and one napkin as she wrote her name on it and her name under that number. - “Here. Call me, text me, whatever you want. I am up for having some good time at the beach with you, you said you know it the best of all people out here and it just sounds fun.” She said when Nathan walked her out of the restaurant. He was smiling with a sad undertone.
Nate didn't want her to go. He was enjoying him a bit too much that morning. But it would be too weird to ask if she stays. And he didn't want her to think that he is a psycho. Her boyfriend was already under the roof covering the entrance.
It was a handsome lad indeed. Perfect for her, yet Nate’s brain didn't think so. But he smiled at her boyfriend anyway.
“This is Nate. This is Mike.” - She introduced them, leaning into Mike’s side because he was warm. Mike smiled widely at Nate, offering him his hand as Nate hesitantly accepted. - “Nate would like to show us around, maybe he would come with his wife?” Y/N rose her eyebrows and Nate smiled shyly.
She gave him a tight, heartwarming hug and Nathan felt how every inch of her body is just burning. She was warm and soft and she smelled so good. He smiled at the couple when they were getting into their car as he realized one thing.
Something called crush just happened to him and it was instant, insanely intense and felt like heaven and the hell at the same time.

time travel (5x13)
pairing: castiel x reader
summary: travel back in time to save Sam and Deans parents from Anna. but Castiel loses a lot of strength traveling back and you take care of him.
your character: y/n has powers but can’t fully control them and doesn’t even know what they are. She can travel back in time but when she does it takes a lot of strength to make herself visible or to even touch something. she’s like a ghost. same goes for when he teleports.
_______________________________________________________
Dean and Sam ans you were staying in another crappy motel room. You just came back from a hunt and you rushed to the bathroom, that’s one thing you learned after hanging out with the Winchesters for the past year. You quickly showered, got dressed and got out. Sam rushed into the bathroom before Dean making Dean yell BITCH.
“Hey Dean, I am going to get some groceries you want something?” “ooh, pie sounds nice.” You chuckle and leave the room. When you came back Sam and was totally clean and looking on his computer. “Dean’s still in the Bathroom?” “yeah, what did you expect.” Sam answered whit a chuckle. Just then Dean opened the door of the bathroom, letting al the damp the shower caused into the room.
“Aah finally food.” He said with shining eyes looking at the pie.
“So Sam, found anything yet?”
“No, not really. Or at least nothing closer than a 2 day ride so I guess we should hit the road tomorrow.”
“Well I think its nice to have a day without worrying about demons and angels and fricking death.” Dean said with a mouth full of pie. You chuckled at his comment while taking a bite out of your sandwich. After dinner Dean went to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
“ oh shit, Cas! You scared me. How many times do I need to tell you to stop popping up behind me!” Dean yelled. “sorry Dean, but this is important.”
Dean and Cas came out of the bathroom and greeted everyone. “oh hey Cas, long time no see.” You said to the angel.
“I have some important matter to discus with you guys.”
“And here I thought we had a nice quite little vacation for once.” Dean said while raising his eyebrows. Cas let out a sighed before he continued.
”Anna, she got out of prison and I looking for you, Sam. She wants you death. She thinks it’s the only way to stop lucifer.”
“I thought it was impossible to escape prison in heaven?”
“It is. They must have let her escape.” Castiel answered you.
“I told her I would kill her if she came close to you guys. So she will probably try to find another way to fade you from existence.”
“So, Anna wants Sammy gone without getting near him.” Dean stated while thinking how she could do that.
“maybe some sort of spell?” I asked.
“No, she won’t use any spell. She will want to be certain he’s gone and won’t come back.” Cas said.
“What if she goes back?” Sam asked.
“What do you mean goes back? Like back in time?” you ask.
“She could make sure you never even get to exist.” Castiel clarified.
“Cas bring us there!” Dean said immediately.
“I don’t know if I can. Even with a bond with heaven time travel is very difficult and askes a lot of energy.”
“then at least try.” Dean answered getting angry.
“Cas, you get the boys there I’ll travel by using my powers. But I won’t be able to do a lot there. It will ask a lot of energy to let alone pick up an object or make myself visible for you guys. I wish I could take someone with me but i can’t control my powers enough to do that. And that if I am even able to take someone with me while time travelling.” I said. Cas nodded and disappeared with the guys. I followed soon.
When I appear in 1978 I see Dean and Sam in the middle of the road. I run up to them and try my best to make myself visible. “Sam, Dean. Were is Cas?” Sam an Dean signaled you that they didn’t know. The three of you rushed to the sidewalk, getting Dean an Sam out of the way for the cars. When turn to your left you see castile sitting against a car with a bloody nose and obviously in pain. ”Cas, Cas you okey!” you yell. “yeah, mhm. It’s less bad than I thought.” He said right before coughing up blood and losing consciousness. Sam picked him up and Dean searched for a motel. Finally finding a motel Dean left to pay while Sam carried Cas to the room they got Cas. Sam putted him on the bed and looked at him with hurt in his eyes. Cas is becoming part of the family. “I’ll stay with Cas. I am not useful anyway. I can only watch, I can’t fight or even talk. And it are your parents anyway you deserve some time witch them alone.” I said looking at the unconscious body of Cas.
“I’ll make sure he gets strong enough to go back to 2010.” Dean and Sam nodded and stepped to the door.
“y/n, if anything’s wrong don’t hesitate to come okey.” Sam assured me. I nodded and they closed the door behind them. You looked at Cas an decided that it probably wasn’t very comfortable to rest in a trench coat. You took Cas’s coat’s off and removed his shoes and tie. After you finally managed to do that, you placed the blanked over him. You layed next to him and decided to read a book. Luckily this motel had some books laying around otherwise you would probably be bored out of your mind. You finally decide that it’s time to sleep at 10 pm and go to the bathroom. ‘shit, forgot that I didn’t bring any other clothing.’ You undress and wear just your t-shirt and underwear to go to sleep. You quietly shove under the covers next to Cas because it is the honeymoon suite Dean got you. Pfft the tease. You close your eyes and find yourself drifting away into a deep sleep.
You wake up to the sound of someone grunting. You turn around to face the noise and see that Cas is awake.
“Hey, hey easy there. You were hurt pretty bad yesterday. You need to rest and strengthen up for the travel back to 2010.” You said with a worried voice.
“mmh, I’m fine, I need to help Sam and Dean. Anna won’t be alone.”
“and the guys know that, they can take it they are stronger than you think.” You say while getting up and pushing Cas back on the bed.
“You are not leaving until you have enough strength to go back.” Cas looks you up an down with a confused face. ‘ oh God, I forgot I’m just wearing panties and a t-shirt that doesn’t cover enough.’ You awkwardly turn around and head for the bathroom to change. “Don’t you dare to even think about leaving.” I yell while closing the door.
When I came back out of the bathroom Cas was still laying on the bed under the covers. He didn’t look good. He looked pale and was sweaty. “Cas, you okey. You don’t look good?” he doesn’t say a word. Just a little grunt leaves his lips. I walk over to him and lay my hand on his forehead. ‘He is burning up. What should I do he is a fricking angel. I didn’t even knew they could sweat. But well I don’t know al lot about angels.’ I took a damp washcloth and moved it over his forehead. I looked at him and sighted. He’s actually kind of cute when he needs to be taken care off. Cas had dosed back to sleep. He was still very sweaty so I decided to clean him up a bit. He will probably be happy that he doesn’t wake up all sticky and smelling. I went to the bathroom in the hope to find a bowl there. I found a little bowl and filled it with water. I put the water on his nightstand an remove the covers. I remove his shirt and start washing the sweat off of him. ‘God I never noticed he looked so good.’
Cas’s POV
I feel sweaty and overall just bad. y/n comes out of the bathroom with a washcloth and brings it op to my forehead. The coldness of the cloth feels good against my aching head. I’ve never really been alone with y/n. And being here with her is actually not bad. She is a caring person and a hell of hunter. I close my eyes and feel myself falling to sleep until y/n removes my shirt and holds a cold washcloth against my chest. It awakens some kind of feeling I haven’t felt before. Its weird. It makes me feel safe and loved. While I’m trying to recognize this sudden feeling I doze to sleep.
Your POV
Once I cleaned Cas and make sure he is sleeping, I head out of the room and walk around town a bit trying to find a place to eat. I find this little place next to the road and walk in. I quickly order something to take with me not wanting to leave Cas alone for to long. While walking back to the motel I notice a little shop with old books. Out of curiosity I enter the shop and walk past the shelves of books and movies. I look at the movies and pick a-one that I hope will be interesting enough. I walk back to the motel and see that Cas is awake.
“hey, you feeling better?”
“yeah, thanks for taking care of me.”
“No problem, that’s what friends are for right.” I chuckled. “when do you think you’ll be strong enough to return?”
“A few hours maybe.”
“Good. I think the boys are back to 2010. They aren’t with John anymore. Aand I found this movie we could watch together while you heal.”
“y/n, you know you can just leave right. I’ll be fine. You can go back to the guys, you don’t have to stay for me.”
“But I love to stay here with you. Who else is going to keep you company.”
Cas smiled a little, not something you see often. You smile back thinking you want to see that smile more often. And you would love to be the cause of that. After finishing the movie and answering Cas’s question about the movie and the actions the characters did, Cas stood up and looked at you.
“I think it time to go back y/n.”
“you sure?”
“Yeah, I’ll see you there.”
And with that he vanished. You quickly followed and emerged in Sam and Dean’s motel room. Looking around you see Cas isn’ t here yet. Probably because it take a lot of strength for him to time travel. Just when you wanted to ask Sam and Dean Cas appeared behind Sam. He looked confused and unaware.
“Cas! Wow take it easy.” Sam said while turning around.
Cas looked at him before he realized he was back in 2010. After that he fell to the floor. Sam quickly grabbing him laying him on the bed.
“Cas! Cas?, Shit” I said.
“I hope you at least killed the bitch.” I said turning to Sam and Dean.
“Well, she is death but we didn’t kill her.” Dean said. Silence and confusion filled the room.
“Then who did?”
“Michael.”

Chapter 8
Word Count: 1670
Warnings: Language and talk of sexual activities
Author’s note: I had to combine chapter 8 & 9 because they both were like 700 words and I wanted the chapters to be longer! Anyways, enjoy!
You threw yourself onto Tyler, who was sitting on the couch, writing lyrics. It was one of those days where the kids were at school, and you usually both were watching Westley but today Josh decided to talk Westley out to the park.
“I can’t believe we have the house to ourselves for a whole day,” you mumbled as you started to play with Tyler’s chin. His stubble was growing out and it tickled your fingers.
“I know,” he smiled down at your face which was resting on his lap.
“I wish you didn’t have to hide playing music,” you told him while looking over at the lyrics he was writing.
“Me too.”
“I’m a bandito?” you read off the pad of paper he was writing on.
“Yeah, it’s a song dedicated to the fans! You should have seen all of them, they make me so happy.” Tyler started to play with your hair.
“God my back hurts so much,” you complain while rubbing your lower back. Bending over and creating clothes for hours on end was really hard on your body.
“You want me to give you a massage?” He asks and you nod.
“Here, let me take my shirt off so it’s easier.” You threw your shirt on the ground, smirking at Tyler the entire time.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” Tyler whispered in your ear as he started to massage your back.
“You tell me everyday, Ty.” You sighed at the feeling of your knots finally being rubbed out. The massage lasted a good ten minutes until you could finally bend over without straining.
“Feel better?” he asked, and you gave him a smile while nodding yes. Tyler bent down and gave you a long kiss.
“I’ve missed this,” you said while pulling away for a second.
“Why don’t we go upstairs? Josh won’t be back for a while, we should take advantage of no one home,” Tyler grabbed your hand.
You weren’t sure what to do, because there was a limit on three kids in a family for population control, and you stopped taking birth control because it made you gain weight, and you knew exactly why Tyler wanted to take you upstairs.
“It’s dangerous Ty, you know that.”
“I can pull out, it’ll be okay, Y/N. I love you and I just want to show you.” Tyler pulled you into another kiss before you could start to argue again.
“Okay,” you whispered. Tyler then picked you up so you had your legs wrapped around his hips and he kissed you all the way upstairs to the bedroom.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“I’m scared, I don’t want to put you more at a risk,” you explained but Tyler grabbed your face with his hands.
“I will never let anything bad happen to you,” he promised. You smiled, and pulled him into another kiss, throwing his clothes off desperately.
“Did you finish inside?” you asked, turning around to face a sweaty Tyler standing behind you.
“I...I’m sorry.” Tyler was at a loss for words.
“Tyler!” You screamed and you rushed to the bathroom. Your breath got short, and the room started spinning. You lost your balance and tried to grab to the counter but you fell to the floor. Tyler came rushing to your side and grabbed you as you started to sob.
“I’m sorry Y/N, it’s going to be okay,” he wiped your tears away.
“No it’s not Tyler. You freaking came inside me, and i’m going to get pregnant and the Bishops are going to take me and kill me and they’re going to find out about you.”
Tyler shushed you, “Y/N, we don’t even know if anything has happened. I’m sorry I couldn’t control myself. I’m sorry.”
“Go out and buy me a pregnancy test. Now,” you ordered him. Tyler grabbed his car keys and ran out immediately.
20 minutes passed of you pacing around your bedroom waiting for Tyler to return. Finally you heard his footsteps running up the stairs and bursting into the bedroom.
“I brought you three kinds,” he panted, out of breath from running.
“Good thing these are immediate now.” You grabbed the first test and went to pee on the stick. With the technology nowadays, you were able to tell if you were pregnant right after finishing, instead of waiting a while.
You took all three, and started to wait to see the results. Tyler sat on the bed, bent over with his between his knees, while you continued pacing around. Finally, the timer went off signaling the tests were ready. You headed over and looked at all three results.
“Oh shit,” you muttered.
“I just don’t know what we are going to do!” you exclaimed to Tyler, who was now pacing around his room, after finding that you were pregnant.
“I seriously fucked up, I’m so sorry Y/N.” He grabbed your hands and pulled you into a hug.
“It’s okay, accidents happen but I don’t want to lose the baby.” You place your hand on your stomach.
“We are just so rebellious,” Tyler tried to joke with you, which made you laugh a little.
“We’re back!” Josh yelled from downstairs.
“Maybe he will know what to do.” Tyler started to head downstairs, and you followed behind him.
“How’s my baby?” you cooed to Westley who was in his stroller. You picked him up and gave him a kiss on his forehead. He smiled a toothy smile up at you, laughing.
“Josh I gotta tell you something.” Tyler got serious, making Josh look up at him with a worried look.
“Is everything okay, man?”
“Y/N is pregnant.”
Josh looked over at you, and then looked back at Tyler, and then back to you.
“That’s not good.” Josh ran his hand through his messy hair and sighed.
“I know, and I don’t want to lose the baby,” you exclaimed, before any of them can suggest taking the pill which would terminate an unwanted pregnancy.
“But Y/N, do you understand how much danger this is putting Tyler and I at now?” Josh started to argue.
“Josh, c’mon man, it’s her body,” Tyler interrupted, standing up for you.
“Why don’t you adopt the baby? In case they find or ask, but Tyler and I will still be the parents,” you suggested to Josh. He looks at you with wide eyes, not knowing what to say. He pursed his lips together before speaking.
“I guess I could.”
“Would you really?” You asked excitedly.
“I would do anything to keep us all safe.” Josh pulled you and Tyler both into a group hug.
An hour later the kids came back from school. Autumn seemed exhausted, and Connor was in a bad mood once again.
“How was school?” Tyler asked them, as you started to make them an after school snack.
“Stupid.” Connor mumbled.
“No one talks to me,” Autumn whined as she grabbed the sandwich you made her.
“I’m sorry sweetie, but I promise it will get better.” You tried to reassure her but she wasn’t listening.
“Why was school bad?” Tyler asked Connor.
“Because everyone is smarter than me in my DNA classes. It’s embarrassing.”
“You’re so smart Con, it’ll get better.” Tyler placed his hand on Connor’s shoulder, giving him a fatherly hug.
“Before you guys start on your homework, I have something to tell you,” you announced. Autumn and Connor shared a look of nervousness with each other.
“Is it bad?” Autumn worried.
“No, it’s that your dad and I are expecting another baby.” You placed your hand on your stomach, even though there was obviously nothing showing yet.
“What are you talking about? You already are at the limit?” Connor started to raise his voice.
“Josh will adopt the baby so it won’t technically be illegal, but it will still be our kid, your sibling,” Tyler explained.
“Why can’t you guys just follow the fucking rules?” Connor screamed at you both before storming up the stairs. You flinched at the sound of his bedroom door slamming.
“I’ll go take care of him,” Tyler kissed you on the forehead before heading upstairs.
“Do you understand Autumn?” You asked your daughter who was sitting at the table, stunned after everything that just happened.
“I’m going to have another sibling?”
“Yep, and to make sure we are safe, we are going to report that i’m a surrogate for Josh but in reality it’s my baby,” you try your hardest to explain to her, so that she didn’t worry.
“I see that Connor didn’t take it well?” Josh walked into the kitchen, holding a sleeping Westley.
“Nope.” You shook your head.
“Be safe,” you kissed Tyler before he headed out to Trench with Josh.
“I always am.” Tyler opened the door, and blew you a kiss before closing it behind him.
Tyler and Josh headed down to the Trench, and were welcomed with yellow flower petals being thrown on them as they reached the end.
“I have a new song to play for all of you tonight,” Tyler spoke. Josh sat down at his drum set. “I want all of you to hold hands with one another and sway side to side.”
Everybody grabbed hands and started to sway as Tyler sang.
“I can take the high road, but i know that i’m going low, i’m a ban-, i’m a bandito,” everyone chorused together. It brought tears to Tyler’s eyes to see everyone together as a family, feeling of safety.
As the show ended, and everyone wanted to talk to Tyler and Josh and thank them, Josh started to hyperventilate.
“Josh, are you okay?” Tyler grabbed his shoulder and made him look at him.
“I swear I saw someone in red watching in the corner,” his voice quivered as he pointed a shaky finger to the corner.
“I don’t see anything?” Tyler looked around confused, but there was no way Josh would be acting this way if he didn’t actually see something.

Day 17 - 21 August 2019 (KHD)
Dear Possums,
Hugely so to you all from Al Qasasin Al Qadima!
We have an unusual update for you today, not only our work but also our triumphant 'arrival' in the eyes of the local populace and the near kidnapping of Tish...but more of that later!
Following baby time yesterday we shot off to the lab and tried to analyse all the bones we already have...and got not very far at all because the amount of information G1151 (Molly - that's yours!) contained was just staggering. Bones of course change throughout your life and nothing written in bone is ever written in stone, as it were. And by the tine you reach your fifth and maybe 6th decade you have seen a lot of life and it's all written right there in your bones! This lady was no exception. I would have loved to meet her. She seems as tough as nails. Her bone mass (which often declines in the modern day in women over about 35) was utterly fine, solid and strong. She was tiny, around five feet tall, and her teeth were worn right down, yet she hadn't lost as many of them as a modern, sugar-rich diet would have. She also had solid, strong muscles and particularly strong hands with the muscle markings all clearly laid out. One gets the impression she would have been a force to bargain with. It's a pleasure to bring her life to the world's attention in even this very small way!
Joris and Jo are both digging graves that are causing them all kinds of issues. Especially Jo's grave that contains an individual who looks like they were hit by a steamroller. It's going to take us some time to get them out of there!
One of our inspectors who is noted for his speed..identified, defined and excavated a whole body in the afternoon. Well, I say a whole body but maybe a half body would be closer to it seeing as a much later grave has sliced him in half. Still, no matter as I should still be able to paint pretty vivid picture of him (yes, him), as well as giving Alaa some tidying and defining experience...!
Perhaps the most amusing part of the day was the evening when, after dinner, the unbelievable racket of an Egyptian wedding party filtered in through the door. The honking of horns, the tinny sound of tinned music and a huge hubbub of dozens of people gathering right over the road from us. Enquiries elicited the information that this was a 'farewell party' for the bride who will be going to her husband's village (as is traditional here) tomorrow for the wedding, and which is where she will live. So we mosied along rather hesitantly and found ourselves the centre of attention. As males, Joris, Mariusz and myself were swamped with sensible chaps and also numerous small children who wanted photos taken of them, of us with them, pictures of us...but Tish...they couldnt get enough of Tish. She was dragged away almost by force in a herd of girls and danced with the bride (wearing a startlingly colored frilly dress) and the bridal party in the middle of a massive circle, everyone clapping and ululating and prancing about in a huge ring around them. Speaking two words of Arabic as she does, she probably found this not slightly forbidding but she did us proud and emerged triumphant and sweaty some minutes later by which time I had taken so many child photos and we had detracted so much attention that we really thought we ought to beat a dignified retreat, so we did. So. If any villager was previously unaware of our presence here, they all know about us now!
Nite all from LSO and the KHD Team

Catch up! : Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
6.
“Y/N …” Castiel repeated exasperated.
“What?” I responded, not paying attention.
“Is it necessary to bring the book in here?” He opened his arms gesturing around the room.
“You were the one who insisted on doing this. I couldn’t care less” I answered and my voice reached my ears, sounding indifferent, even a little annoyed. I turn my eyes to the pages again, scanning the ancient runes and I frown.
“There’s an error here, look!” I point at the wrong translation turning to him again. “What are you doing?” I asked and the frown stayed on my face as I gazed at the trench coat that was being draped over the shower stall wall divider.
“I’ll have you know, wet clothes are really uncomfortable” he said, shrugging off the suit jacket, throwing it over the coat.
“Oh..” I murmured, looking down at me
“ -not you, we just need to be careful not to get those bandages wet.” He let the water flow, testing the temperature,
“Sit.” He ordered, pointing at the chair in front of the sink while undoing his tie. I followed his movements and my throat felt tight,my lips were suddenly dry. I licked them, taking a few steps toward him.
He seemed pretty oblivious to my strange reactions. It'd been a couple of days since my thread to heaven was cut. I couldn't reach my brothers and sisters.
And then...I had all these….things happening that I couldn't explain.
Once, yesterday morning, I bumped into the youngest Winchester, being all out of breath, sweaty and dressed in work-out clothes… all tight and wet. He smiled at me before going to the kitchen. I followed him with my gaze, my eyes darting up and down his back ,feeling hot.
Then the short one started talking to me and I ,for the love of my father, couldn’t concentrate on whatever he was saying , my focus on his plump lips. I wanted to bite them. Normally, only a couple of days ago, I should have felt nothing at all of that.
But the worst was with Castiel.
Just being in the same room started to be difficult, this damn body needed to learn to regulate its temperature.
My gaze fixed to his hands -very nice hands, big and strong- and those long fingers curled around the shirt fabric as they rolled it up his forearm. I would very much like to feel them on me.
What?!
I shook my head and sat down, back to the sink, the book in my lap.
“Bend your head back” he said while gently gathering my hair that fell heavily on my shoulders. I felt the cold porcelain edge against my nape and then the lukewarm water on my scalp.
A content hum escaped my lips.
“This feels nice” I added as I raised the book high so I could read it without moving my head.
Everything was normal -nice but normal- the weight of my soaked hair pulled me backwards, the sink digging into my nape a bit uncomfortable and I was almost done with that passage when I felt his fingers pressing against my scalp.
My eyes fluttered closed and I chased them with my head as they moved.
They rub and stroke and scratch and massage and-what is he doing n-
“Mmm” I relaxed and pushed further into his touch as his fingers cupped almost my whole head and I felt them move on my temples, reaching under my ears and the back of my neck.
I let myself wallow in the sensation, my fingers slowly losing grip of the book and I laid it down, letting it rest on my lap, cover up.
After an indefinite period of time -I couldn't tell how long- I felt him wring my hair with his hands.
“Tip your head down”
Still in the dazed state of mind I was, I didn't even want to question him and just complied. he wrapped a fluffy towel around my head and rubbed vigorously, droplets of water hitting my face as my hair got jolted around.
His warm hands , across the fabric, guided my head up and I gazed at him, crouched down in front of me. I once again got lost in his blue eyes between wet strands of hair. I couldn't see his grace anymore but I had it burned in my memory.
He smiled warmly, tucking away the humid locks of hair in front of my eyes, I don’t know why but I felt them hot and puffy, my vision becoming considerably blurry.
“Y/n...what is it? Does it hurt?” his face lines now worried while his hand squeezed my shoulders. I felt a tightness in my chest and throat again, but it was different. It was painful and I was afraid to open my mouth because I really didn’t know what was going to come out.
He saw my struggle, his hand kindly cupping my cheek and I leaned on it, closing my eyes, basking in its warmth.
Some tears rolled down and he wiped them away, “Talk to me”.
I bit my lips and opened my eyes. He was closer now and his eyes... there was no pity in them, no sadness nor judgment. They were kind, and forgiving and so very very human.
I leaned my forehead on his shoulder, hiding my face, “I...I miss my wings” I breathed out , “I miss my brothers and sisters, it’s quiet without them...too quiet,” I took in a shaky breath. “How did you bear it?Iit’s….it’s so lonely.”
“Y/N…”
“-and all these damn feelings!” I fisted my hand in his shirt, “I don’t understand them, they’re so messy, confusing and disheartening. What am I supposed to do when I don’t know what I’m feeling? How do I react? What is right? What is wrong?”
“You don’t h-”
“I see how the Winchesters look at me” I raised my voice, my fist hitting him. “Oh, they find it funny, how hard I’m struggling. I can’t understand if what they say to me is a joke or not….I don’t know what I’m doing ...what...what...oh...how did you go through this alone?”
His arms draped around me. “It’s okay Y/N , everything is going to be okay”,one hand stroking my head, the towel now laid on the bathroom tiles.
His soothing voice washed over me like a balm but at the same time it annoyed me , -I don’t even know what I’m thinking and feeling-
“HOW?!” I snapped, pushing against his chest. I expected to make him fly across the room but he didn’t even budge. Raising my trembling hands -useless, weak hands- I stared at them scowling. He seemed to read my mind because he grabbed and lowered them, searching my eyes with his -no please, don’t look at me like that, I ..I don’t want you to see me like this- I avoid his gaze but he turns my head to face him.
“There is nothing wrong with you” his eyes were steady and strong. “You are just experiencing human emotions and trust me, they’re a lot and they hit you right when you least expect it. We’ll soon find a way to restore your grace Y/N,I promise you that”
“I hate this…” I whispered, “there is so much I’m feeling, so much longing for something I don’t understand”.
“Well...do it”
“What?” I looked up at him.
“Humanity is all about experiencing new things, discoveries and impulses...” his thumb caressed my wrist, “...you can delve into them, you are out of heaven’s reach, don’t hold back.” He smiled, “What do you wanna do ?”
“...right now?”
“ Yeah, what is your body telling you?”
I looked down at our hands, mine looking so small and frail in his and I squeezed them, he squeezed back and I looked up again.
I felt like my heart might explode as I bent forward and pressed my lips to his.
It was a light touch, our lips joined and still, but it was enough to cause wildfire to spread in my chest and it was like I’d been hit with the sheer force of what I felt . It took my breath away and I had to steady myself from falling, laying a hand over Castiel’s shoulder.
That threw him off balance and, falling backwards, he pulled me down with him. One of us made a surprised sound, deep in their throat -fairly sure it was him-
Our teeth clashed together, but I didn’t care, everything I was feeling was worth it, his prickly shadow beard scratched me, his nose squashed against my cheek, my hands on his firm chest, pressing him down, the texture of his shirt under my fingers, his sharp hip bone pressing on the inside of my thighs almost painfully.
I felt his hands grip my elbows tight and pushing against them, I whimpered -what’s that pitiful and needy sound?- and pressed myself to him. I wanted this, I craved this, I wanted ...him.
He froze and I could feel his hands trembling before relaxing ,shifting to my sides and sliding up on my back, locking me to him. It was then that he relaxed his lips, prompting me to do the same.
Changing angle he captured my lips in a soft kiss, a real kiss, his lips searching, biting, sucking at mine hungrily. My face was on fire, my hands itching to touch more of everything he had to give. He sat up, and his hands gripped my thighs hard as I sat on him.
His hands traveled up, tangling in my hair and again he changed angle, this time parting my lips with his, his tongue seeking mine.
I gasped, the sensation being so foreign and yet so natural, and it’s like everything I wanted and everything I’d ever need.
I followed his lead, tasting him , feeling him as I’d never done before, all instincts and impulses, like a human. I wonder how it would feel to wrap my grace around his to the point we couldn’t tell where I began and where he ended.
He growled and the sound seemed to come up from Hell itself. My hands found his hair and I desperately held onto them when he slid his hands up my thighs to my hips, pushing me down on him.
I made a strangled sound as something hard pushed against me sending fire through my whole body. I broke the kiss and arched my back, pushing my chest against his.
“...Castiel...” I murmured out of breath. His hands stilled, his whole body stilled. I looked down at him, a question on my face.
“I...shouldn-” he lowered his gaze and disentangled from me,
“I shouldn’t have done that”, passing a hand through his hair he squeezing his eyes. “Please, forgive me”, in a flash he was dressed and out of the room.
I was slumped on the floor, my skin so hot that the tiles seemed like ice. Standing up on wobbling legs I looked at myself in the mirror.
Hair wet and messy, red cheeks and out of breath I looked down at the bandages and some of the cuts had reopened. Placing my hand on the bloody fabric I, for the first time, felt my heart beating faster than it ever had and I never looked more human than now.
Sam and Dean had noticed that something changed in Castiel’s behaviour. He never stayed in a room alone with me, he always found a way to have at least one of them with him and he was the only one making errands for ingredients or books.
He showed me how to change my own bandages and that was it.
“Cass we are low on the pantry, could you..?”
“I’ll be right back” the bunker metal door closed, filling the room with silence and the metallic echo.
“Ok,... “ Dean’s eyes piercing coldly into mine “ -the hell is happening between you two?” he said, waving his finger between me and where Castiel just disappeared.
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t go all squinty eyes on me, my patience is running real thin -it’s been days since I left this place-I’m developing cabin fever.” Rubbing a hand on his face as he pushed himself away from the light table,“ and you suck at hiding stuff, so-” he waved his hand again, slapping the other on his knee, “ start talking”.
I looked at Sam -usually the sympathetic one- finding him curious too, his hands resting on his lap, eyes finally unglued from the spell book.
My eyes darted between those two, I guess unloading my confusion could bring some clarity.
“I kissed him”
Dean blinked, surprised, “ I’m sorry-” a stupid grin appearing on his face as he stood up and walked slowly toward me, “what did you just say?” .
I looked at the other brother, “That is the term, right?” and he chuckled,
“yeah...that is the term. Y/N …” he relaxed on the chair, his hands resting on the book, “ what do you mean with ‘kiss’ ?”
“Where?”
“..Deean..”
“Yeah...sorry…” the short brother cleared his voice. He found it difficult to keep his grin off his face - I hated it, it was annoying- “How was it?”
“Confusing…” I lowered my eyes recalling the moment “...overwhelming, intimate, warm and a bit wet….” I slowly looked up, “ ...nice”.
Dean’s grin widened,he turned around, arms wide open and Sam dropped his head, raising a bill with his hand before slapping it and sliding it on the table to where his brother was seated before.
My confusion and impatience - and honestly also irritation- grew, “What now?!?”
Both their eyes were on me again, Dean’s hand landed on my shoulder, the other waving in front of me. “Now?....Now we get you laid”
“Dean!”
