a boy who almost gets killed by a teen/young adult vampire turns to the church to become a priest/vampire hunter but ends up abused by his teacher and when they final line so to speak is about to be crossed when hes a mid(?) or young (???) teen (undecided) the same vampire now older ends up semi-unintentionally rescuing him not knowing it's the same boy and half kills the priest and drinks from him and the boy grabs a stake and the vampire is like. making his peace with this being his end bcus he's weak after feeding when the boy drives the stake into the priests neck and drags it down to make a ghastly wound and he steals vestments and clothes to disguise himself later in life as a full fancy vampire hunting priest and packs it all away and ends up following the vampire all the way back to his coven still carrying the stake he Kill killed the priest with and the vampire is like I didn't know what to do with him ???? and his like father figure ?/the vampire that turned him just smiles at the boy and kisses his forehead and leaves two small marks there, like birth marks, that mark him as belonging to their coven without turning him into a vampire

Description: Three words, eight letters, a phrase that is felt more than it is spoken. This is my take on how some of the Wind Breaker characters say "I love you" for the first time. Characters: Hajime Umemiya, Tasuku Tsubakino, Haruka Sakura, & Hayato Suo. Word Count: 2.6k Not proofread, oops. Contains: Fem!Reader x Multiple Charcters (separate). Fluff. Some slight hurt/comfort if you squint.

Author's Note: Fluff? Something other than smut? From me? Wow. We love character development. But this has been on my mind for AGES so I finally am getting it out. I haven't been feeling the greatest either so please enjoy some very self-indulgent fluff. (¯³¯)♡

You and Umemiya had been together for a while. You both adored each other, tender kisses and lingering touches were commonplace in your relationship. You had met Kotoha, and the others at the group home and have been attached to his side for almost a year. He wasn’t sure what was holding him back from saying those three little words. Perhaps it was his past, he had lost those who he had nearest and dearest to his heart. Their end unraveled right before his very eyes. Umemiya had so much love to give, and so many people he loved to give it to.

But often, he found it next to impossible to let the words slip past his lips. Instead, he showed his love in different ways. Bringing Kotoha patrons and supplying her with crops from his garden for her restaurant. A warming smile and a promise that Bofurin’s big brother would keep his found family safe. Always the first to offer a listening ear or a shoulder when needed. But never those words. Three short words, one syllable each. He knew he could say them but something deep down was stopping him. An irrational fear that if he had, the one he said it to would go too.

That was before he met you. Umemiya hid his darkness well. A well-placed smile and a childish affect cleared the thought anyone could ever have that the feelings he buried so deep even could exist within him. One you found easily. The light you had brought into his world shone brighter than any darkness that could ever threaten to shroud him. The warmth that settled in his chest when you looked his way. His laughter more genuine since you had come into his life. He knew from the moment he had met you, the moment he had first lost himself in your eyes, that they were the eyes he wanted to get lost in every day for the rest of his life. So why, even after all this time could he not say he loved you?

You had always joked that you had a grey thumb, unable to grow anything and that you were fortunate enough to have his abilities for gardening. One of the things he loved most about you was the amount of effort you put into his interests. He was coming up to the rooftop, it was late summer and he was excited to see what was ready to harvest. He was surprised to hear your voice, looking around the corner he saw you watering the plants. Just as he had shown you how to. “You're looking beautiful today, growing nice and big and strong.” You sighed, feeling ridiculous, shaking your head. You jumped, nearly out of your skin hearing Umemiya’s giggles. “Sunflower what are you doing?” He said between peals of laughter

“I read online that talking to the plants could help them grow, I don’t know how well it’ll work.” You sigh shaking your head feeling a little silly. However, Umemiya’s heart was soaring, you had taken it upon yourself not only to express interest in something important to him but to go out of your way to care for it even when out of his presence. His eyes softened, cupping your cheek he leaned down to slot his lips against yours. The embrace was gentle, lips molding together as if they were only made to be with the other. He parted from you after a moment, breaths fanning against your lips as he spoke. “I love you, my sunflower.” He smiled against your mouth as he kissed you once more, knowing no matter what came next he would be by your side until he drew his last breath.

Tsubaki had only felt comfortable in his own skin in recent years. Having spent so long conflicted with himself regarding his appearance. He was so fortunate that for those who didn’t support his choice in his appearance, he had so many who were right there by his side, rooting him on. But it wasn’t always like that. For longer than Tsubaki cares to remember he was all alone. Forced to walk his path in constant fear of ridicule. He was teaching himself to fight to protect himself from those who would try and hurt him on the sole premise of being true to himself. Those days felt like a lifetime ago. Because now he had Bofurin, because now he had you.

Tsubaki couldn’t forget the first time you had both met even if he tried. He was just starting to dress more feminine, his hair an awkward shoulder length. Still learning how to apply makeup. There were a few boys from his grade who were taunting him, calling him names, and throwing things in his direction. Normally he would have stood his ground, beating them to a pulp for what they were doing. But Tsubaki was tired, tired of having to defend himself, tired of having to be so strong just to live as he chose to. How he felt most beautiful. He wasn’t that strong by choice, he was strong because he had to be. Because Tsubaki had to be stronger than their ignorance. Tears welled up in his vision at their harsh words, about to get up and defend himself once more.

Before he could get to his feet, however, he heard a voice call out, capturing the attention of his assailants. Stood there was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, delicate features enhanced by the soft cosmetics that had adorned your face. He watched with wide-eyed fascination as you ran up, the closed fist of your manicured hand coming into contact with their leader’s jaw, sending him to the ground upon impact. Tsubaki couldn’t move, he watched, frozen as you gracefully fought the group that had been trying to bring him harm. Tsubaki was strong, and more than capable of handling them on his own, but in that moment he learned that he didn’t have to. He didn’t have to fight his battles alone anymore, because now he had you.

He remembered stumbling over his own name when you had asked for it, cheeks a dark shade of red when you smiled at him. He remembered the way your hand had felt in his grasp for the first time as you dragged him back to your house to get cleaned up. Humming as you wiped the dirt from his cheeks, in a very similar manner as you were doing right now. He lay in your bed, your thighs straddling his waist as you hummed, swiping the brush along his cheek, applying the peachy blush you said paired so well with his complexion. You paused in your humming meeting his eyes that gazed up into yours with adoration, giggling softly. “Welcome back, that was some daze you were in. What’s on your mind gorgeous?”

Tsubaki’s cheeks flushed deeper than the powder that painted his skin. Tucking your hair behind your ear, you sent him a smile, soft and full of tenderness. Tsubaki wasn’t sure he believed in love at first sight, but he knew from the moment he met you that he loved you, and over time that love had only grown. Reaching up a hand, thumb swiping your cheek as he returned your loving gaze. “Just thinking about how much I love you, that’s all beautiful.”

Haruka wasn’t familiar with love. Often times he found it nearly impossible to express his feelings. Before coming here, even something as simple as kindness was a foreign concept to him. Being so often judged upon first glance he never got the opportunity to even try to build relationships. So after a while he had given up trying, That was before he came here. Before he was welcomed in with open arms. Before he found the only place he felt like he truly belonged. But you. You had opened up his world to so much more. You showed him what love could feel like, An emotion he never thought he could ever feel let alone have bestowed upon him.

You were much more open with your love, taking care of him when he got sick after a fight, making sure he was eating and taking care of himself. You had teased him relentlessly when you first met. Adoring the deep flush in his cheeks and the reactions you could pull so easily from him. Eventually, that teasing morphed into affection, which blossomed into love. You still had a habit of teasing him, but it was never ill-mannered always coupled with your beautiful laughter. And if he got to hear that beautiful sound bubbling past your lips, he would deal with the heat that graced his cheeks and the pounding in his chest.

You both had been together for quite some time, well past the point of the outbursts you had first been met with when openly showing your affection. Long past the point where he would feel the urge to run for the hills the second you called him one of the plethora of pet names you had bestowed upon him. But he still struggled to verbalize his feelings for you. He knew you were well aware of his feelings toward you. What he couldn’t express through words he showed through his actions. He was eternally grateful to your seemingly unending patience with him. Being well aware of his past you knew he would say it when he was ready. It wasn’t as if he had never said it before, but those times were when you were fast asleep next to him. His fingers carded through your hair as he gazed upon your relaxed features, whispering those three words in the silence of night. But as you lay here in his arms, looking up at him with those beautiful eyes of yours he knew that he needed you to hear how he felt. Not just feel it. Leaning down he brushes his lips against your own, lips slotting together like two puzzle pieces, perfectly fit to one another.

His eyes are soft with fondness as you pull away from the kiss, head tilting to lean into the touch of your hand. His eyes locked with yours, lidded with adoration. His lips melting against yours, arms encircling your waist. He hums thoughtfully against your lips. His heart felt warm, pulling away he looked into your eyes, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “You know, I sit and I think to myself sometimes ‘god I can never love you more than I do right now’ and you consistently test that theory by making me fall more in love with you every day.” His heart raced in his chest, never the best at expressing his emotions, but in this moment Sakura needed to tell you how he felt. Never one to back down, despite being able to hear his heart racing in his ears as he continued to speak.  “Your smile still makes my heart pound, your laugh still makes my head feel fuzzy, and your kisses still make me feel like I’m floating. I love you so much.”

He gives you a soft smile pulling you close once more to kiss your lips, hand now coming to rest at the back of your neck to keep you in place as his lips meld with yours once more. Before moving here Sakura could confidently say that he had never felt at home anywhere. He was alone, perfectly fine never planting roots, he had believed it would always be that way. What he didn’t realize was that home was more than where you returned to at the end of the day. It would be something he found in you. Because his home was right here, in your arms. His home was you.

Suo hummed to himself, walking through the isles of the florist, perusing the flowers. He had made it a habit from your first date to always have fresh flowers for you, showcasing their beauty that in his eyes was rivaled only by your own. When he had presented you with the first bouquet, you had scrunched up your nose reporting to not understand the purpose of a gift that would eventually die. From that moment he decided he would always have fresh flowers to decorate your space. Showing you that their beauty may be temporary but the flora could hold deeper meaning.

He was fascinated by the symbolism of flowers. But he very specifically took delicate care in every single flower that was showcased in a bouquet he arranged for you. For a man like Suo, someone who never showed a crack in his armor, never showing his true feelings often relied on subtle ways to show his love. The first flower he had selected for the bouquet were violets, their heart-shaped petals reflecting their meaning of everlasting love and devotion. Historically a gift of violets was a declaration to always be true. These flowers were common amongst the arrangements he curated with their placement, a promise to offer you the same. The next flower to join the arrangement followed a similar sentiment. Representing strength and love was the gladiolus. It was once believed that the beauty of the gladiolus could pierce another’s heart with love, the same could be said for the way you had done to him. Their purple hue paired nicely with the violets, the color symbolizing the beauty in the love you shared. The flowers to follow would showcase similar significance. Baby’s breath for undying love, calla lilies for beauty, and pink camellias for longing.

Suo was always deliberate in each flower he chose for you, choosing to convey his emotion through the meaning behind each flower he placed delicately in the arrangement. Smiling to himself, satisfied with the selection he had chosen. Sitting at his table as he placed them in their wrapping, being sure to pluck one from the bunch, placing it in a vase so when it began to wilt he would know it was time to gift you a new arrangement. Once he was satisfied, he set off to your apartment, knocking on the door. His signature smile graced his handsome features as he took you in. “Hello there beautiful, I have something for you.”

You smiled at Suo, taking the flowers from his grasp, and replacing the old arrangement with his assistance. You were very aware of Suo’s knowledge of flora, he would often tell you the meanings they held while out together. So much so that you began to look into it yourself. Taking what you knew of the flowers now to assess the arrangement. Eyes soft as you turned to your boyfriend. Hand curling around the back of his neck to pull him down to your level, lips brushing against his. The both of you melted into the tender kiss, your other hand coming to cup his cheek as his found purchase on your waist. Pulling away, you pressed your forehead against his looking into the rich auburn of his visible eye. “I love you too, Haya.” Your words were met with his gentle laughter. Taking one of your hands in his own, his lips brushing against your knuckles. “I love you, more than words could ever express, my sweet baby.”

Suo smiled looking down at you, knowing each flower he had plucked from your bouquets had been dried and coated. Keeping a memento of how despite your initial feelings on the gift, even flowers that have died could still be enjoyed. Those flowers were placed in a special place, kept safe. One day he planned to have the dried flowers arranged into their own bouquet. One he would present you alongside a ring, a promise to love you until the very last one died, knowing these flowers never would.

I will say before this that i have not completely understood the full span of his lore yet so my opinion is going to be influenced by that but from what ive seen in the streams/clips/vods I’ve watched of him. He’s an easy going guy who tries not to take things to seriously. However things become complicated when he gets attached to his little family of leo, q!roier and q!vegetta.

He shows his attachment to his eggs in a different way than most people on the server. Treating them like small adults and often jokingly beefing with them. However, we know he really does care from multiple scenes (the egg room at the end of purg 1 is a great example)

Because of these attachments, when he get the opportunity to get insider info, he always takes it. Theory bros? Founding member, the order? Another founding member. The federation? Became enough of a high ranking member to be trusted in a meeting to arrest another member (though possibly not enough to not avoid getting froze again if his prison van wasn’t just to full other inhabitants) and thats not even mentioning his general high observation skills that most people dont notice because of his fun disposition

All of these positions help him by getting him information, and in a way he’s similar to charcters like q!cellbit and q!bagi who are investigators, the main difference to me being that i dont think he minds much if people hate him for his ‘allegiances.’ Again, everything feels kinda small potatoes to him. Which is why throwing q!tazercraft in prison wasnt that hard for him.

What he does care about is how his actions affect the ones he really deeply cares about. I think q!tazercrafts prank on him after they escape is kind of a wake up call to him in that sense.

Yes, he knew their was a possibility that peoples hatred of him could spread to leo but i dont think up until that point he’d really considered that people would try to hurt her because of that.

Going forward with his actions, things get more gray. Especially during the murder investigations. Because on one hand progressing through this job means more info to protect the people he cares about with but on another hand turning in q!cellbit means potentially hurting a close friend (and son-in-law) on the island.

After purgatory things get even more complicated as he has to try to balance what he thinks q!cellbits intentions were with these murders alongside what would keep him most safe amongst all the other things i mentioned above.

I think it’s telling that in the end, q!foolish cant come to a decision on his own. Instead he places his decision in the hands of fate and almost gamifies it in order to relieve the real stress of having to make such a large decision.

Another great example of q!foolish’s conflict of interests is his relationship with q!phil in the prison because i think its the first time he’s realizing that knowing people may not trust you because of your allegiances is one thing and actually experiencing it. (Especially to someone like q!phil who has become such a trusted friend in q!foolish’s life after purgatory) is another.

I think it’s telling here that during the scene where q!phil is in solitary and q!foolish has the opportunity to let him out at the risk of loosing some his respect from the the feds, he takes it.

The best way i can explain q!foolish’s relationships with others in general is that if he attaches to you, then theirs not a lot you can do to get rid of that attachment. His devotion to his relationship with q!vegetta being a great example of this in my mind.

So, to finally answer your question: q!foolish is a fun loving immortal (explains his commitment to not taking things seriously, though it doesnt have to be that) who go attached to people and now has to try to balance what he feels he needs to do with what he wants to do. I’m not sure i’d say that he’s completely a good person but I’d definitely not say he’s heartless or evil and for the most part he does his best to not harm others if he can afford it/he cares enough about them

And, i love him as a character for all of that and probably will still love him even if i’m wrong about everything i just said because i think he is a prime example in my mind of how to have a well-rounded and complex comic relief character without taking away from that character’s ability to continue to be funny

Lucy Carlyle has to be one of the most shippable charcters of all time. She literally has chemistry with everyone and it never feels forced

Lockwood? obviously. not much to explain here. They have drama, mutual pining, both angst and comfort

Skull? Duh. The codependency. The snarky dialogues. She's his only connection to life and he's her only human (well kind of) connection when she leaves the agency. Match made in hell and I love it

George? May not be everyone's cup of tea, but everything you need in order to ship is there. They are complex, they constantly bicker, they share a lot of intimate moments. Very well written relationship in general

Holly? Hell yeah. Rivals to friends and possibly lovers. Grumpy x sunshine. Amazing character development on both sides. 10/10 no notes

Kipps? Now, in the books there's little to no this kind of chemistry between them but then show randomly added a bit of romantic vibe at least on the Kipps' side. So it counts. I guess.

The show also gave us Norrie and the sapphic vibes of these two were off the charts

Gotta love Lucy. Girl thinks she's soo repelling while in reality I wouldn't be surprised if every member of the team had a crush on her at some point

the reason why there are many gay/queer ships in animes and mangas is because the authors are misogynistic pieces of shit who are unwilling to develop female characters with the same depth and nuance as the male counterparts as they believe women to be incapable of having compelling narratives beyond romance or any supporting roles and reduces them into one dimensional characters.

due to this lazy storytelling, the plot becomes male centric, and emotional bonds between male characters take the stage due to immense focus on male dynamics. once again, this all stems from the fundamental disregard for female characters as complex individuals and reinforces the idea that male characters hold more importance and so are given more depth, attention and emotional weight as well as being a primal part of a characters life which many authors fail do with the supposed female love interest.

this is why these ships, bakugo and deku, naruto and sasuke, gojo and geto are insanely popular because fans cannot find another character who would affect and impact a charcter as much as the other did because they refuse to develop a female character well enough to have the same level of significance in the protagonist's journey.

authors repeatedly sideline female characters and make them 'damsels in distress', which only serves to reinforce outdated gender roles and deprives them of the opportunity to make any real impact on the protagonist which is essential if she is supposed to be his fucking love interest.

they are reduced to mere motivators for the protagonist, which very well explains why fans would gravitate towards the rich and well developed relationships between male characters as they hold genuine significance to the plot. they are more complelling, written with actual substance and the rivalries, shared history and dynamics are far more well written than anything with a female character.

the male relationships evolve and offer emotional growth while the female characters lack any opportunities for growth and only serve to help the protagonist advance but never by his side. this imbalance creates an obvious void that fans eagerly fill with a well-rounded, well written dynamic that only exists within the male characters. (my goat isayama doesn't fall in this category)

Now I can already sense the tension in the air for this question, and I'm gonna need yall to lay down the tomatoes so I can EXPLAIN myself alr..?... Katsuki Bakugo. NOW HEY HEY I SAID PUT THEM DOWN🫵🏾 LET ME EXPLAINNN☹️

To put it simply, his character has always intrigued me, confused me and entertained me. So much so that I found myself unironically wanting to understand him even after going back and forth with myself trying to figure out if i liked him or not, and countless times ive failed lmao. But! For some reason i still felt a need to get him, so no matter how many times i misunderstood him I kept trying

And so with the help of my curiosity for his character and my consistancy with the anime, other mha/bakugo enthusiasts opinions and headcanons, edits and fanfictions, I finally got it was because he is just so raw-ly and really him and how he naturally navigates in relationships, especially the ones he prioritises. Even with how canonly brash, grumpy, bullyish, and mean he is, and with how so many people are really hypocritical talking about "oh his character development isnt really development unless he changes his attitude towards people" and "he needs to change his personality in order for us to believe it is real improvement", as if the concept of nuance doesn't exist, he doesnt adjust to their opinions. (Not unless it is absolutely necessary which he DOES realise is the case in major parts of the anime which i LOVE him for being so self aware)

It is the way he never let anyone change him. Which IS bullyish, loud and cocky. He IS mean, kinda crazy and blunt. And deep down I fucking LOVED THAT. Because even with such an insane personality he doesn't let that take over, and his self awareness is strong enough to check himself when he knows hes in the wrong. And it's not like he's biased with the way he treats people because he treats everyone equally like for example: with the way he nicknames everyone by their appearance, quirk or personality in a way that IS kinda mean but if you get him, is actually kinda funny too. And he still doesnt let his ego get the better of him when he recognises someone as respectable and admits that is so. And even though it's not in a socially acceptable nice and sweet way which was what everyone wanted him to be, it was still equal. It was still somehow fair.

And ontop of that, it's not like he picks on people he doesn't even know (anymore). There is that obvious well needed change of charcter he had (which is part of his character development) and if you actually pay attention youll notice his maturity developed too. So when I tried to tell myself that I didnt like him in the beginning, I would still find myself respecting and admiring him because of how true he was to himself, yet still pushed himself to become better because he was still so self aware.

I then realised he was quickly growing on me. Because through his character development I learnt that "being better" doesn't always mean being what is socially acceptable, or "nice" which is always what is expected. And I then noticed how I never really wanted him to change his personality. Because I accepted that this was HIM and had the right to be him, without others trying to change him. And i unironically fuck with the way he is naturally. He who is not like everyone else in the sense that is he isnt "nice and friendly"; still has the right to move around and exist as he, is (which is mean cocky and brash) and does so accordingly and confidently, will ultimately earn my utmost respect expeditiously. And when it finally clicked me, I guess I kinda fell in love a little🫠🫠(im down horrendous).

Smokey caramel and fucking vanilla😭😩😩 because of katsuki's nitroglycerin sweat, he always smells like caramel but it starts to smell burnt, smokey or like someone is cooking caramel anytime he uses it, depending on how bad the explosions are. It is so fucking funny to me how someone so brash, mean and cocky naturally smells like a bakery😭😭. At least he doesn't smell like cooked flesh though so 🤷

MY GIRLS URARAKA, MOMO, MINA AND JIROU! (and somehow kirishima, denki, sero and deku found out...) first it was Uraraka I told cus she and I are like this though🤞🏾🤞🏾 It's been a thing that basically the whole class knows I have a crush on bakugo even though I have a naturally flirty and freaky personality with most of my friends JOKINGLY, but if you squint, it's apparently really obvious. Eleven being with someone who doesnt deserve her and doesnt treat her how she wants. She would also lose the chance of being independant, something she desperately needs.

Basically Will's, Mike's and El's charcter development goes to shit

The slowburn of childhood friends to lovers is finally coming to the end it deserves

It would be incredibly meaningful and important to queer people

It would show that gay couples in media dont always have to end up awfully or simply work as a side couple

It actually makes sense inside the S5 plot

Will, a gay kid in the 80's that suffered multiple abuses all his life and had to go through unspeakable things that traumatized him, is going to get the boy he loves and for once he would win something. It wouldnt make sense to make him suffer more, especially when it comes to something as silly (compared to the shit that goes down in ST) as falling in love.

Mike is not actually an asshole and it turns out to be one of the best written characters in all the media. Idc queer or not, he is an incredibly complex character that will show people how deep his feeling actually are. It would make most sense for the menssage itself of ST to be a closeted kid in the 80s with internalized homophobia.

El gets to be independant and would get out of a relationship that only made her gain bad expreriences as a couple with Mike. She gets to explore herself and start to be who she actually is without needing anyones aproval.

SPOILERS FOR LAZARUS AND ALSO SOME THEORIES

Interestingly enough, all the intros from episode 1-5 explain why each Lazarus member took hapna but i dont think they actually did:

The intro serves the purpose of showing hapnas effect on the world through the point of view of our characters

Leland: he took hapna as a recreational drug, with no real intent to hide or remove his suffering he describes as a childish "take it if your feeling down" the way he describes it as well he never changes his childish boyish tone when speaking about it as if this situation is just normal, but it's a bit out of character for Leland to be this nonchalant, Leland us very expressive by nature I think he would be angry or even sad this has happened to him if he ACTUALLY took the drug but notice how he only ever says we the personal pronoun "i" Is never used

Doug: the is the first intro so it does a lot to introduce to this world but it also gives us a look into his mind "iv always imagined how the world would end ever since I was a child" which represents his ever so cynical and nonchalant personality very well, but he's far from uncaring or rude he does genuinely care for the world, he wouldn't be going trough all this trouble if he wouldn't be also find out later trough out the episode that he's a brilliant mind who had opportunity and opportunity snuffed out , he never goes out to explain if he took hapna or not he just describes what it did to the world

Chris: I think her intro really solidifies my theory, she starts off by explaining her thought process when hapna entered the market " why do humans go trough so much grief ? Can't we just have fun " but I think that's a bit out of charcter for her she is bu far one of the strongest characters mentally going trough so much trauma and grief and actually leaving that life behind and creating a new identity for herself while still being this fun loving person is an insanely difficult thing to do, now here's the second part "SOME PEOPLE were even saying it cured the pain of heartbreak" and the next says : but I though that was kinda weird, how can you get over heartbreak" " What if we were duped?" BASICALLY IMPLIYING THAT SHE NEVER TOOK HAPNA because she never got over her heartbreak !! She doesn't know if she was duped or not because she never took it

Elaine: her and axel are the only ones that explicitly say they took hapna but I also feel like both of them are unreliable narrators, from the episode heaven is a place on earth we know that elain was raised In a cult where the ai developed by SKINNER HIMSELF AND WAS A COPY OF HIM was treated as a god she literally says at the end of the intro " I started thinking of him as a god" if that's not irony I don't know what is , I think the drug she was talking about was the fantasy of the cult in of itself her happiness with Hanna the quick dopamine hapna gave these 2 things are not exclusive from each other

Axel: the shortest intro but also the most interesting IMO, just like elain he also directly says he took it, it was just circulated in the prison when it was released so he just took it without thinking much, THING IS HE SAYS IT DIDNT HAVE MUCH OF AN EFFECT ON HIM?!??! MHHHH???!?! WHAT DO YOU MEAANNN IT HAD TO EFFECT ON YOU he also has the least amount of personality in his intro even tho he is FILLED with it, he's sarcastic bastard who gives no shits and does whatver he wants whenever he wants while would his intro be so plain? Why would he wanna take hapna in the first place ? Oh axel you grief stricken whore I love you

On another note I do think this theory makes more sense from a literary standpoint, the name lazarus is generally used as a reference to restoration and resurrection and what better name to name the group who's literally going to revive humanity ? Neat isn't it?

Don't you think the way TG actors service their fans is a little off, to say the least? Of course there is essentially nothing wrong with wanting to stay relevant and give their fans some "crumbs", but Olivia reposting stuff about Rhaenicent's dungeon sex, Gayle reposting comments like "If they follow the books, she'll be going down on Aemond" with the 👄 emoji, Ewan saying he likes helaemond and taking pride in asking for having a full frontal nude scene and Tom insisting on Aegon never raping Helaena while drunk (contrary to what we learn from the show) are too much if you ask me. I find it quite disturbing and ironic that Olivia, who, according to her stans , is forced to portray an extremely sexualised charcter, actual doesn't have anything against sexualising Alicent even more, let alone in fact sexualising her co-star. Gayle apparently ignores the character she plays is gonna be a victim of rape and seems eager to service Alys fans who want to reduce Alys to a sexy milf. She also talks stuff about sexual tension between Alys and Daemon (I fail to notice it, although their friendship is quite obvious). And Ewan, parading himself in mesh shirts and saying weird things about a broken boy Aemond who's gonna be fixed is simply annoying. Plus, I'll call helaemond either just a fanon ship (if I want to be nice) or straight up bullshit. White washing Aegon's rape-y ass is just unsavoury and his rabid fanwives are ridiculous

You need to stop treating fictional charcters like real people. Because at the end of the day Gale is not real and no harm comes to him, no matter who says what about him.

With this out of the way:

You do realize though, that fictional characters don't exist in a vacuum, right? They are not based on a real person but have real person characteristics. Why do you think people cling this much to fictional characters? Mostly because they see something of themselves in them, because they share some of those experiences with them.

It's funny in a tragic way Gale suffers from what most real people do in real life - he makes goofy things, he smiles, cracks jokes and thus people don't care to look any deeper to see a person that is willing to let himself go and just die at the first opportunity given.

And ulimately, each person that felt close to his character because of this angle was just told "yeah, him sacraficing himself is the best option for him to give back to the world". Fuck that.

Also all the "weird" real life people who talk to much, know too much, cannot find a way to act in a conventional way sometimes? Yeah, screw their experiences as well, they "annoy the fuck out of everyone, haha".

Even a meaningles mechanic of giving him magic trash you find all over the place was turned into a joke. I got bullied to the point of deleting my post criticizing just that all those months ago, so I'm unwilling to discuss this again. I dealt with it by blocking all the obnoxious boot jokes.

You don't see the same disdain thrown at other fictional characters in this game. Nobody makes light of Astarion's or Karlach's trauma, nobody disputes if Shadowheart is suffering.

And you sure as hell don't see the developers that MADE the characters throw one of them constantly under the bus like Gale. It's mind boggling that some of them genuinely seem to hate their own creation this much. It's like they have no idea what that character even stands for.

I didn't expect to hear that from the owner and a fucking lead writer in a company, they should know better than to act as any random person on the internet lke this.

Dragon Age: returning characters

If Cullen is the fan favorite (he is so unqualified to be leading an international army) then morrigan is the dev favorite. She's such a special girl. She's alao the one designed to be sexy in origins, love that for her when she's middle aged but in origins just like the lust demons, it's barely disguised dev gooning. I keep telling people who play the series backwards (don't do this), just wait until you see cullen raving about demons and mages. again.

Dragon Age characters are notoriously inconsistent between games. Either the writers change or the dev vision for a character changes between games. Merill and Isabella are basically different people between games that just happen to share a name, and to a degree harding and cullen. Recurring characters are a mixed bag in dragon age. Morrigan and solas get the best of it because they're dev favorites. They actually stay in character and morrigan's cross game character arc actually makes sense. Can't quite say the same for cullen's

Because of dao's extremely open plot, to continue telling stories in thedas the devs had to trim the story trees so beyond dao the "canon" isnt so much canon one possibility out of hundreds. dai morrigan and leiliana are very specific story paths, specifically Leliana and Alistair are hardened and Morrigan becomes the equivalent of softened. And so much of dao is about how every choice and it's conclusion is equal and how all these story branches are real that it leaves a real sour taste when the devs give preferential treatment to certain branches. While at the same time I do understand that the alternative would just be for characters to not have major roles at all. 90% of the origins cast is optional and like all of them can die (which caused hell of a lot of continuity problens because origins was designed as a stand alone). Like Alistair and Morrigan are the only mandatory. I'm not mad that the writers made a choice I'm mad that they made a choice matter and then retconned it into meaning less.

So much of Morrigan's charcter arc in Inquisition and Veilguard is about how motherhood has changed her for the better. She's gained a better understanding of life and the world through nurturing and learning to be a mother. This comes to a thematic head as she story enterwines with Mythal's, drinking from the Well of Sorrow potentially, and embracing the aspect of Mythal to embody her power in Veilguard. Morrigan from an antisocial lover comes to embody motherhood. And if you don't want her to get pregnant in Origins? Too bad you miss a major development in her character arc. Which is why I have such complicated feeling about this writing choice. Because Kieran being from the Dark Ritual is so much more poignant than the other options like the devs are very much playing narrative favorites. Non-Old God old Kieran is barely an afterthought in Inquisition his lines aren't nearly as interesting and it's clear which option the devs prefer. But on the other hand the writing is good...

Alistair would basically be the main character of Origins in the Warden wasn't there except that he is allergic to making decisions I mean he is the senior warden (barely) but just defers to everything the player says. He can end up doing what he cares about (being a warden), being turned into a political pawn and actually doing an ok job, or falling through the cracks and ending up a useless drunk. But the novels choose the King path and it seems to be the default for Inquisition. And I'm also pretty mad because the Wardens and Duncan meant so much to Alistair it was the only connection he felt wouldn't be ripped away from him and the writers did it anyways regardless of my choice in Origins.

I have less of a problem with Leliana's pigeonholing. Her story branching is far less drastic in Origins. Given how by Inquisition she's gotten right back into the heart of the Orlesian cloak and dagger it's not suprising she's hardened now no matter if she was or wasn't Origins.

The more I think about the option death revivals/spirit/whatever excuse Bioware gave this time, the more of a stretch it seems so I try to just not not. It's understandable why they did it, Origins was never meant to have a sequel and this is the best way to both respect player choice and keep the project to a feasible scale.
