Since we never got a Kuwei POV I can literally just keep believing that he was never into Jesper (romantic styles). Like yes Jesper is hot. Yes Jesper is sweet. Yes Jesper is totally boyfriend material. But Kuwei is not into it. You know what he is into? Sowing chaos like crops in a damn field. So ofc when Jesper mistakenly assumes that he's actually Wylan (the boy Jesper is so obviously in love with) he just goes along with it. venti might be bodily 14-16 but he is mentally a hag. he constantly calls mondstadt citizens his children, the happy-go-lucky personality is just his way of honoring his dead friend bc every other character trait shows that he is old and alone, as one of the two last original archons.

jayce enduring a symbolic rendition of viktor's trauma is so painful and so, so clever.

being stricken down and immobilized through sheer accident or, in viktor's case, a cruelly random quirk that caused his disability.

then physically dragging himself from the lowest level of zaun to piltover, much like how viktor spent his youth reaching toward the promise piltover offered, but only if he could "pull himself up by the boot straps" and get there on his own. socioeconomic forces working against him be damned.

i appreciate arcane reminding us of viktor's origins - the reason he is so called to help people and, eventually, save himself - and putting jayce through the ringer - the contrast between he and viktor's lived experiences is front and center throughout season 1. the writers send jayce, and the audience, on a grueling journey to contemplate those experiences and how they've manifested in these intertwined characters.

Sometimes I’m reminded that in universe Chilchuck is an actually influential figure who like. Made huge advancements for his people and community. Like as in gave them rights and protections. And who is widely known by half-foots because of that. Like. He’s not just some guy.

Idk For some reason that just makes his role in canon really funny to me. Like this older, extremely important and accomplished figure is just willingly putting himself thru it for the sake of this random autistic 26 year old.
