Re: Slam Dunk. There's actually another duo, this time among the minor characters, that could make for a potentially cute incest ship, the Aida siblings.

Hikoichi is a first year high school student who plays in the Ryonan basketball team, one of the rivals to the main character's own team. Unfortunately, he's not as tall, strong, and skilled as his teammates, so he always gets benched during games. He feels the difference between them acutely, but he doesn't let it bring him down. Instead, he devotes himself to acting as a sort of team manager, gathering info on noteworthy players in other schools and trying to play a support role to the team's coach. He's overzealous and kind of clumsy, and he always manages to say something that pisses the coach off, but he's very determined and has a kind heart, and he genuinely loves both basketball and his team... even if he can get quite fanboyish about other teams and their players as well, when he sees them give great performances on the court. Eventually, his aspiration to become a full member of Ryonan and actually play in games is reignited by watching Miyagi, a player on the main character's team who is also short compared to pretty much everyone else but is very fast, skilled, and smart on the court all the same, play and being inspired by him.

Yayoi, his older sister, is also good at information-gathering as she writes for a weekly sports magazine. She is very knowledgeable about basketball and is sent to cover a few high school games in the prefectural tournament while waiting for the national one to begin. She's prettier than her somewhat plain younger brother and, at first glance, she also looks more put together than him, with a calm and confident air about her. But in truth, she can be just as emotional and excitable as him! And she's also very driven and headstrong, and she doesn't give up even against all odds and common sense, managing to zip back and forth between two different stadiums to follow two games happening at the same time while dragging her bewildered assistant around, and pushing her idea for an article even after her editor in chief already rejected it and tried to assign her an alternative project. Other characters even note the two siblings are more similar than they may appear, noticing for example a shared catchphrase between them.

Yayoi is always teasing Hikoichi, even when she comes to see Ryonan's games, and he acts all embarassed and grumpy about it, telling her to knock it off and go back to wherever the seats set aside for the press are. But there's actually a nice understanding between them. Yayoi is very emotionally moved when she sees how Hikoichi was crushed by Ryonan's defeat in the game that could have sent the team to the national tournament, and some time after said defeat, when an impromptu "just for fun" game is set up between the main character's team and some of the best players from different teams they've faced, as Hikoichi tries to lure in as many aces on the court as he can find, both for the sake of a great game and to remind Ryonan's captain, a last year student who'd recently dropped out of the team when he couldn't lead it to the national tournament to dedicate himself to his family's business, of how much he really loves basketball as well as let him have one great last stand, he calls his sister to help him track down Sendoh, Ryonan's star player, and drag him in. Which she does, and rather forcefully too, despite him being out of the loop, ready to spend the day enjoying his own hobby, and quite confused about the whole situation!

Ah, and also about Sendoh... he's a second year student, so around Hikoichi's age, just a little older in fact. And yet, Yayoi has a big crush on him! Aesthetically, it doesn't look that weird, as Yayoi, despite most likely having already finished college a few years before the start of the story, considering her job, is youthful and fashionable and doesn't look too much older than the female high school students in the series. Plus, Sendoh is tall, muscular, and handsome, which helps downplay the age difference visually. Still... bit interesting that she can see a boy around her own younger brother's age as attractive, isn't it?
