Tabouli to go

...or tabbouleh to go - either way this works as a fast to fix side dish or main course. Just add boiling water, pine nuts and chopped tomato if you have that on hand. When traveling, I've fixed this in a hotel room to enjoy along with boiled eggs and an apple from that morning's continental breakfast as a quiet dinner in the room. This also works well if you're camping or hiking as an easy carb that can be stirred in with water heated from the camp fire. Stores well in a convenient plastic container.

Went for a cookout and a short hike at Echo Valley Provincial Park today for lunch. I was the only one in thr big tee pee area so I had a big field to myself all solurroynded by trees. I made Basmati Rice and Chick Pea Tika Masala in my non stick Trangia. It works really well. Very good non stick coating. I used the @corporalscorner guy line method for my tarp and had shade in minutes! Lugged everything in my Romanian Back Back and Bread Bag. Good little sweaty adventure and a damn good meal! I've got the dehydrator going today. On the bottom about 2.5cps of leftover pizza sauce to make tomato bark. Half a jar of Sauer Kraut on the 2nd from the bottom. Thai red and green chilis on 3red from the bottom. Top two trays are cremini mushrooms. All are going to be separate additions to my repertoire of dehydrated foods to mix and match to make meals. All of these can be mixed with my dehydrated veggie soup mix and say pasta, or dehydrated potatoes or rice.
