Hiki loosened his tie, leaning on the balcony rails. He looked up at the stars, watching as they twinkled in the sky.

“What’s a guy like you doin’ out here all alone? Everyone’s inside enjoying the party, I think Kohakun is fighting the groom right now.” He hears an amused chuckle behind him, Shinju sliding up to stand next to him, a champagne glass in her hand.

Hiki gave a lopsided grin. “What’d Amarinrin do this time? That troublemaker really couldn’t go without instigating something, even on this specific day? Pfft, I still wonder what Nikkun sees in him.”

Shinju emptied her glass, setting it down on the railing. “Not sure, probably started it though. Kohakun is definitely making sure he’s getting what he deserves,” she laughed.

“Ha, yeah, definitely if it’s Chiikawa.” Hiki laughed airily, scooting over so Shinju had more room.

“You didn’t answer the question~” Shinju poked him on the cheek, a silly smile.

Hiki scrunched his face, batting her away. “Can’t a guy get some fresh air? All the idols in there are so~ draining. Did you see that one that was climbing the wall? Or the one that was lying on the floor asleep? Crazy bunch, all of them. How does Nikkun stand being surrounded by all of that 24/7~”

Shinju snorted. “Like you’re one to talk? You’re as bad, or even worse than the red one after several drinks.”

“Shi-chan, I do not appreciate this attack on my character~” Hiki whined, resting his hands on the railing.

They stood in silence, looking up at the stars.

“Shi-chan, Nikkun looked so happy.” Hiki mumbled, still looking up.

“Yeah. So did Ama-chan. I guess they’ve both been waiting for this for so long. It’s really sweet.” Shinju smiled, leaning back on the railing.

“He’s an idiot and dumb as fuck, but really the only one that can make Nikkun smile like that. I’m glad that Nikkun found someone that would never let him be alone again.” Hiki sighed, gripping the railing.

“Hikkun…”

Hiki turned slowly, offering a hand to his companion. “Do you think…we could’ve turned out like that?”

Shinju took it, giving a small shake of her head. A sad smile. “It would never work. You know this.”

Hiki laughed, squeezing her hand. “Yeah. You wanted to protect your siblings, I wanted to redeem my family name. Two dreams on separate paths, too far apart.”

Shinju laughed softly, squeezing back. “Yeah. It really wouldn’t have worked, no matter how much your mom tries to use her puppy eyes on me.”

Hiki rolled his eyes. “Pfft. I’ll tell her to stop. Whether we’re together or not, she does see you as family, though. You’re always welcome for dinner.”

“Hehe~ I’m always down for Shiina cuisine. As long as it’s not made by you.” Shinju stuck her tongue out.

“Hey! My instant food prep skills are amazing, thank you very much.”

“Instant noodles and microwave rice do not count as a good meal, your entire family is saying this and you still don’t believe them?” Shinju huffed.

“They just can’t appreciate taste like how I can.”

They stared at each other before both started to laugh, loud and clear and just them up there on that balcony.

Hiki grabbed her other hand, gently pulling her away from the railing. “But just for tonight, Shi-chan. You’re my plus one~ May I have this dance?” He lifted up one of her hands, kissing the knuckles.

Shinju laughed, eyes glittering. “Only for you, Sweetheart.”

They waltzed around the balcony, dancing slowly to the sound of some song that Hiki pulled up on his phone.

“Maybe in another world it’d be us at that table,” Hiki hummed, stepping one way.

“Yeah, after you try to and fail to fight my father over ten times. No, maybe a hundred times.” Shinju giggled, letting him take the lead.

“Hey! I’m hurt that you have no faith in me~” Hiki whined, spinning them.

“I’m just stating the facts, Hikkun.”

Hiki huffed. “Maybe like twenty. They’ll feel sorry for me and then let me win.” He swayed them, slowly and not even on beat with the music.

“I think Kohakun would rather die than have you as a brother. The other two are okay.” Shinju smirked.

“But he’d be fine with Nikkun?! The betrayal!” Hiki feigned a gasp, swaying them to the other side.

Shinju laughed softly. “Well? Tell me more about this other world.”

“Nikkun would want to be on catering…Maybe Mom and Dad will help. Amarinrin would probably be there too, I can’t imagine a world where he isn’t clinging to Nikkun.” He shifted one of his hands to her waist.

“Probably as annoying as always. The Ama-chan guarantee.”

Hiki smiled. “Yeah. You’d probably look very pretty for the first time ever, ha.”

Shinju pulled her hand free and whacked him gently. “I’d probably be the one in the suit, I think you’d fit the dress better.”

“I’m not Nikkun~ Not every man is willing to be a bride.” Hiki snickered. “No one would ever be able to look as pretty as Nikkun, anyways.”

“Hmm hmm~ I agree.”

Hiki spun them again, stepping lightly. “ We’d go wherever we want to, all over the world. I’d show you all kinds of things, maybe we’d have a bunch of near-death experiences.”

“Which you probably would’ve dragged us into, leaving me to haul your ass to safety.”

Hiki laughed. “My ever-reliable Shi-chan~ What would I do without you.”

“Die a stupid death, I guess~”

Hiki stepped forwards, dipping her. “And…I don’t know. It just feels like it’d be nice, that other world.”

“Yeah. It does.”

Hiki leaned in. “Shi-chan, can I be greedy for a second? Can we live in that world for just this moment?” he whispered.

Shinju smiled sadly. “Yeah.”

Hiki closed the gap, soft and sweet.

He pulled back, helping Shinju back up. “Bleh. B-tier champagne. Didn’t Amarinrin listen to any of my suggestions at all? After I worked so~ hard on that list just for him, and for free, too!”

Shinju laughed, rolling her eyes. “He actually ended up getting way more than what you suggested. ‘For variety’ he said. Come on, it’s cold and I want a refill~” She picked her glass up, pulling on his hand.

“Yeah~ Yeah. Okay, that’s enough fresh air for the night.” Hiki laughed, following her back in and leaving that other world behind.

My predictions for Komi's final 18 friends before 100. I feel we probably have already met all of them so far, so here who I think they'll be.

I don't think I have any wild predictions, but I'm posting this so I can see how wrong I was when the series eventually reaches it's conclusion.

Also, I started writing this before ch. 441 dropped, but the newest chapter has only made me more certain about my first guesses, which brings us to...

83: Maruko Tadano

Considering the current arc, this one seems pretty likely. We still don't know if she's related to Tadano (though I assume she is), maybe we'll learn next chapter when they inevitably become friends. That is, if the next chapter is about them at the family restaurant along with the next four...

84: Setsuko Hatohori (Egypt); 85: Sakura Sankoichi; 86: Tsubaki Sankoichi; 87: Ajisai Sankoichi

My theory is that Komi will befriend all the applicants from ch. 437 and we will continue to see them throughout the application process. I'm now even more sure of this after the recent ch. 441 and hopefully we see them again next chapter.

88: Nokoko Inaka

It's bound to happen at some point, I feel it will happen soon after the current arc but that's just a guess. I believe she's one of the most likely on this list to become Komi's friend, though maybe she'll sign her name a little later on.

Inaka has been around since being in Komi's first-year class, similar to my next entry...

89: Toshio Seikimatsu; 90: Hana Soboku

Seikimatsu has been around since the start of the manga and was the catalyst for Tadano starting conversation with Komi, that alone should be enough for him to be Komi's eventual friend. I hope he gets to take his girlfriend on a double date with Komi and Tadano like he wants, solidifying both as Komi's friends. They also both were with Komi, Tadano, and Kawai's group in ch. 403 & 402, and Soboku and Komi greeted each other in ch. 430.

91: Lily Sukida

Another character who has been around for a while. Sukida has popped up a lot so I assume Oda is planning on doing something with her character. Given that she currently doesn't approve of Komi's relationship with Tadano, I assume that will have to be resolved before they become friends.

I wonder if Sukida would have reacted differently in ch. 423 if Komi had questioned her with Rumiko instead of Tadano (she was okay with Tadano pretend dating Rumiko in ch. 433, why not herself?) but I digress, seeing Miss Tadano / Tadano in the girls' uniform again was nice too and perhaps will be part of how they'll later become friends.

92: Goro Suteno; 93: Hajime Gokudo; 94: Yae Hamaki; 95: Makina Kusari

These four have been in the story since the start of second year and have had an ongoing plotline focused on Katai.

My prediction is that upon realising Katai isn't Komi they'll assume Komi is some sort of delinquent mastermind controlling Katai from the shadows, or something silly like that, and choose to "work for her" (sign her book).

They're not the most talked about when considering possible friends, but I think they have a reasonable chance considering their current thing is, while being a misunderstanding, focused around "Komi." Speaking of characters I don't see often being brought up in these discussions...

96: Miwa Omojiri

A little outside Komi's normal friendship age range, but she recently befriended Michita so we know Komi doesn't exclude older friends. She's been around awhile, I think she could make a good friend if she had another chapter or two.

She's also the only character (besides Shiina) yet to become a friend who has their name in ch. 416.

Also in ch. 416, in the background, you can see Inaka as well as the next entry...

97: Komorebi Hiki; 98: Susumi Shujo; 99: Aoi Netsuno

Hiki and Susumi will undoubtably be a friend after ch. 436's last page. I presume Aoi will join them later and also become Komi's friend.

Considering how Oda likes to number the friends I think the order of these three will go "Hiki, Susumi, Aoi;" this is part of the reason why I don't think Hiki will be friend 100. Which leads us to...

100: Muzuka Shiina

Who didn't see this one coming? I know other people also suspect Shiina will be friend 100, and I agree. I wonder what's holding Shiina back from considering Komi a friend, hopefully we'll see when she inevitably becomes one.

This is all the friends up to 100. If this is where the manga chooses to finish this is how I think the list will go. However, I have another theory...

101: Yo Fuki; 102: Teruyoshi Jimochi; 103: Maheto Haheto; 104: Luna Neguse; 105: Fukuyoka Muchi; 106: Kanchi Gai; 107: Yakugaku Komata; 108: Hamaru Tsubo; 109: Shota Kori; 110: Takaomo Fuechi; 111: Kaoru Fukitsu; 112: Marin Saotome

Yep, I think all the other class 3-1 students will be Komi's friend as well. My theory is that upon almost reaching her goal, Komi will become closer with her classmates and want to become friends with all of them, but can't because of her arbitrary goal. Perhaps Shiina will make her realise that making 100 be the limit is silly and prompt her to become friends with the rest similar to ch. 323.

There are some other characters that could be candidates if Komi made more than 100 friends, but this post is getting long already.

Anyway, that's my silly little theory on who the last Komi friends will be. Hope you enjoyed reading :).

Okay that might be a bit of an exaggeration but here’s the thing I was looking yesterday WAITING for the chapter and the second I don’t look its out and by the time I saw it I couldnt get in the mood to react to it and its MAYBE about the class A-hole? So yeah... curious and annoyed IS kinda accurate

ANYWAY Future Worange here ready to check what this chapter... so let’s go?

We begin from where the communication problem class’ A-hole tried to shot Komi and while she was stopped she went all “why so angry? it’s just a game” which while not WRONG... inmediately shows her as an A-hole in my book 

And so the mood in the class went heavy... damn (also hi Not!Oda)

Thanks for the insight AND Shiinasshole’s name gugu gaga man (not but seriously it amusing Ogiya got to narrate the summary of last chapter)

OH so yeah... even with that armor looking arm it counts as taking the bullet so... sorry still don’t remember her name but she is out of the game and it IS knowledge (4th wall-y at least) that she and Komi are friends since first year even when they dont talk much

OH!!! she’s Kishi-san! thanks Komi... o.o! Komi is the one thanking (VERBALLY) KISHI for the help and Kishi (silently) knowledges her... small yet sweet moment tbh

Oh... It was so much of a no-contest fight that Oda didn’t even bother to show the struggle. Alright.

I’m glad that at the very least the second years didn’t win, but it does leave a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth that Komi isn’t allowed to win anything in this series. With very few exceptions like the first year Summer festival stuff.

Komi was robbed a second time of this [[Legendary Chicken Cutlet Sandwich]].

I want to scream favoritism, but it’s Hiki so I’m fine with it. Let her have everything she desires in life.

I will laugh my ass off if Hiki asks her to give everyone the [[Legendary Chicken Cutlet Sandwich]].

Komi 333.2: Battle Royale, Various Topics 2

Final thoughts:

A fun chapter. We got some good fun with Gorou and the ‘new four heavenly kings’.

I want to see more of that guy. He’s an interesting one. I really want him to properly meet Tadano since they both share a similar 'ability' (reading the room).

We got to see more of Hiki and her friends―always a good thing.

I loved Shujou’s coaching of Hiki. Hiki is in good hands with a friend like her. I approve.

Aoi is pretty great herself. She’s Netsuno’s sister alright. I’m curious how she knows Yadano though. Probably from Netsuno and Yadano competing, if I had to guess. I’m sure Yadano loses every single time...

Speaking of Yadano... She continues to lose in style... I approve.

And then there’s Setoka... The less said the better. I still haven’t forgiven her for what she did on the New York field trip.  She’s at least good for putting the characters into interesting situations.

Still waiting for Shiina to stop being a bitch towards Komi, lol. Someday... Just gotta keep the faith...

Chapter 334 is out now, btw. But I won’t get to it today. Maybe tomorrow.

Komi 334: MVP

Final thoughts:

I took a long time to get to this one, didn’t I?!

That’s because I was under the foolish delusion that I would use that time between liveblogs to finish chapter 43 of my fic. (It’s Christmas themed, you know...) Well, I didn’t! I wasted it doing really nothing of note. There’s still uh... two (three maybe?) scenes to add to it before it’s really and truly finished... But I can’t let myself get even more behind on liveblogging. So here we are. Chapter 334 is done!

We finally have the conclusion of the Enough War. Or whatever it was we were calling it... Battle Royale, right. Right.

Anyways, the arc on a whole was great. I don’t know why some people in the fandom seemed to want it to get over with already. I enjoyed every bit of it except for Shiina being a bitch.

Tadano coming in clutch with the extra ammo after Komi spilled her box was great. Tadano is very attentive. Good man. Best man.

It was nice seeing Nakanaka and Yamai kicking ass again. Such a great duo they make...

...And Lily needs that Yama x Naka energy to survive class, kek.

Hiki’s armor was a bit overkill in the end. It turned the friendly competition into a one-sided slaughter. When I saw Isagi on the stage during the announcement I was so sure that she was going to make Setoka give everyone the win since it wasn’t exactly fair... But I guess not!

I’m looking forward to seeing what Hiki asks of Setoka though. I’m sure it won’t be forgotten about. Right, Oda?... R-right, Oda???

I wonder where Oda is going with Gorou’s ominous, “Hiki... I’ll remember you...” line. Like, what kind of interest does he have in her? He better not be thinking of fighting her, lmao. I’ll ‘leave him for dead’ alright. Get it? Because his title is ‘Left for Dead’.

Omakawa is becoming more powerful. Just how powerful will she become, I wonder? I want Shinobino to have a delusion about her. She was jumping around like a ninja, so...

If there’s one thing to complain about, it’s that Komi didn’t get the [[Legendary Chicken Cutlet Sandwich]]... Again... Komi just can’t have nice things, apparently.

But at least she has the best of boys to make her happy. I guess that’s a fair trade off for losing so often. Yadano doesn’t count because Yadano loses by default.

Final final thought? As much as I really liked this arc, I’m really looking forward to things getting back to normal. I want another date! More fluff! More fluff!!!

Komi 325: Classmates...

Final thoughts:

It was a nice chapter overall. The obvious highlight was Komi introducing herself, and even pointing out that she was dating Tadano. The character growth is real. Tadano’s introduction as well was a hightlight of course, since he also stated he was going out with Komi. I live and breathe for these moments.

As for the class roster... Well, we don’t have the entire list of names just yet. But of the ones I’ve seen so far, I absolutely love Emoyama, Yukapoyo, and Lily. Others that I really like are Shiina, Omagawa, Kyono, Nanoda, Fuki, Kire, and Jimochi. I feel quite bad for some of them though. They have some... stuff going on...

Emoyama is just flat out going to die from all the point blank emo exposure.

I can’t gush about Yukapoyo enough. She’s just great. I love her. Somebody get her a boyfriend.

Right now I mainly feel bad for Lily. She’s been separated from her dream ship (Yama x Naka). It was her primary source of serotonin, I’m sure of it. Hopefully she will have some form of comfort in this class before long.

The members of Perro Rabioso (Ojousa, Hanya, and Bosa) are all neat. They seem like good people. In addition to Yukapoyo, they are just about the closest ones to normal in the class, I guess. Maybe Nakanaka will come around during lunch breaks or something... Make it happen, Oda.

Shiina seems easily discouraged when high expectations are placed upon her. I don’t know though. Maybe I’m making too large of an assumption about her after just a short introduction. I just want to see her succeed. Gambare, Shiina!

Omagawa seems like a mix of Otori’s chill and Yamai’s obsession? How can you go wrong there? I’m just worried that she’ll end up trying to wear Omojiri’s skin.

Kyono... I don’t know, I’m mostly along for the ride with this one. What’s going on with her?

Nanoda... Somebody give her a hug, nanoda.

Fuki. My man, Fuki. Let’s hook this dude up with Doji already. I want to see that train wreck in motion. How big of a disaster can these two create when they collide?

And with Kire, I am just super curious how she will interact with Komi. Kire seems to actually be like what some people assumed Komi was like. You know, what with the glaring and whatnot. Plus she’s got a haircut that is somewhat similar to the live action Komi. It’s not exact, but kind of close. I wonder if that’s intentional.

Jimochi... Jimochi, Jimochi, Jimochi... He really got the short end of the stick. Oda seriously gave this poor man hemorrhoids simply because he needed a name with a pun. Give the man some dignity, Oda.

...Oops, I nearly forgot Omojiri... I want her to find a boyfriend! Yeah, I said it! You heard me. She’s cute, and I want someone to kiss her forehead. It’s just sitting there, exposed and waiting! Make it happen, Oda.

Finally... My one actual complaint, like in terms of storytelling or whatever... It’s just a small thing, really, but I feel like I have to complain about it... Why in the hell did none of these kids jump at the chance to be friends with Komi? That makes absolutely no sense at all to me. Hmph. I get that “they all have communication disorders”. I get it. But nobody? Not a single classmate? I call bull on that.

Anyways, I want to see Hiki!!! HIKIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!

Komi 330: Battle Royale

Final thoughts:

Setoka is back and she’s ready to cause absolute mayhem. All thanks to the power of nepotism... Grandpa founded the school! This is her birthright!

Anyways... What to say? What to say?

It was a fun chapter. Not a whole lot happened, but it was of course just a chapter to set things in motion.

I love, love, love that we got to see more of Hiki again so soon. And she’s even gotten a friend already! This pleases me greatly. Shujou looks fun. I’m sure that they will become the best of friends.

I knew Najimi was going to fuck up, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so... instant. It was just a little oopsie though... I’m sure that Najimi is capable of flawlessly replicating Revolver Ocelot’s gun spinning.

It’s pretty funny how it’s become a running gag of sorts for Najimi to be carried over someone’s shoulder. At least 3 characters have done it. Once in this chapter, once in chapter 36 by Gorimi-senpai, and once in chapters 70-71 by a monk-themed character.

I can’t not mention the detailed Kishi and actual line of dialogue we got this chapter. The first detailed face of hers we got was in chapter 270... This chapter had the very second, unless I am somehow mistaken (pretty sure I’m not). It also has either her second or first line of dialogue. Depends on who we need to attribute a line of dialogue in chapter 62 to. Oda is finally showing her some proper love?!

Shiina... Shiina, Shiina, Shiina... What are we going to do with you? Seriously? Intentional friendly fire? Do you not want the [[Legendary Chicken Cutlet Sandwich]]?! Komi’s gonna get you!

Oh, and uhhh... Discount Tadano was cute again... But I will not yield so easily!
