  PS: Why I Don’t Care If 420 Makes Them Gay

In the spring of this year, there was a news article — in Vice.com — which investigated the notion that smoking pot can turn a straight man gay (even if only temporarily).

Supposedly, this is a phenomenon that quite a few straight tokers report.

So much so, in fact, that some gay-bashing, hyper-religious types are concerned that taking a hit of Mary Jane can “chemically induce homosexuality”!

(Which, to be “blunt,” is ironic, given that society has long attempted to chemically induce straightness — consider the fate of Alan Turing, for example.)

Now, dude — after reading that article, 2 things came to my mind:

1) This phenomenon, where straight men get “gay feelings” when high on cannabis — dubbed “highsexuality” — shows (yet again) that sexuality isn’t a concrete, set-in-stone aspect of one’s psychology. The boundaries of sexuality are much more elastic than a lot of people believe.

(Keep that in mind next time you see a “very straight,” masculine guy you want to get your hands all over…)

2) I really have no idea if smoking pot will make a straight guy “more gay.” And, in fact, I don’t really care one way or the other.

Why don’t I care?

O estudo liderado por Hukg, mostrou que, cerca de 10 minutos após o consumo da erva em forma de cigarro, mais da metade dos usuários homens demonstraram estar fora de si e com impulsos fortíssimos e incontroláveis para com pessoas do mesmo gênero.

Após a grande repercussão da enquete, bem como da abordagem a respeito das sensações causadas pela droga, usuários héteros, que se sentem atraídos por outros homens após o uso, receberam o nome de highsexual.
