𝗕𝘂𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀

It's time for... Headcanons for Makina! (without spoiling the plans I have for her story):
Her headcanon singing voice would be Ado. (Ussewa, Odo, Crime and Punishment, Tot Musica, Brain Revolution Girl, and Bocca della Verita for song refs.)
Another Headcanon singing voice would be Jun Togawa. (Punk Mushi no Onna, Osozaki Girl, Radar Man, Boshi Jusei, It hurts to say goodbye, and Konchungun for song refs.)
She got into Dethklok in her teens. Makina was in a music shop with one of her classmates and heard a song called "Graves through the Bloody Brimstone" and was hooked ever since.
Makina's fave songs off each Dethalbum; "Hatredcoptor" (1), "the Gears" (2), "The galaxy" (3), and "Bloodbath" (4).
Her birth year would be 1985 (if the timeline was static and is in line with the 2006-2013 time periods). Her full birthday is October 31st, 1985. [I headcanon that she's a year older than Toki]
Her father had an underground band in the 70s, but he had to quit after her birth. Makina inherented his black studded belt and wears it to honor him.
Her first metal album she ever received was a "Best of Snakes and Barrels" CD when she was 5. She doesn't know that Pickles was a part of Snakes and Barrels.
Makina has an embarrassingly large framed Dethklok poster. But since she's been living with them and doesn’t wanna look like a weirdo fan of theirs, she hid it in her wardrobe along with other Dethklok merchandise she owns.
She has a MAJOR crush on Skwisgaar and has been hiding it like crazy, occasionally slipping up. (Makina: "Your hair looks really pretty today." Skwisgaar: "What ams you says?" Makina: "I said you kinda look shitty, idiot! ò////ó")
As told in the Prolouge, before Makina became Nathan's protégé, she used to be the lead singer of a band called "Lycan RIOT." She formed the band in high school, and their first gig was a local county fair.
Other than singing, Makina's instrument of choice is the piano. She's dreamed of owning a black Hammond Organ.

I really think this discourse over whether we need to start humanizing cursed tomes is ridiculous. All tomes are inherently worthy of protection, and don't even get me started on how far 'blessed' object laws extend in comparison.
The current popular takes are so twitter-level basic, for which I can only really blame our poor public education. For most people, their only experience with cursed tomes are from high school - I'm talking like Evolutions of Eternal Screams vol.4 or Musica Infernale - and it's not their fault.
In reality, every cursed object has been imbued with some aspect of a greater consciousness, a consciousness deserving of autonomy like the rest of us. There are so many types of cursed consciousness, and they're all valid!
Merryk's Catalogue of Lunar Curiosities is one of the strongest defenses of cursed tome autonomy, as Merryk himself lives within the text. The book is a large and well-loved leather journal with inked moon drawings and studies jotted down inside. The text, if you could read it, would detail out certain effects the moon has on home-grown spells during varying times of the year.
But you can't read it.
Instead, the second you start reading, you're awakening into a pleasant wildflower garden. Golden light streams across a contained cottage yard. Sitting across from you on a wicker patio chair with a plate of scones is Merryk himself, who spent thirty years ritual casting himself into a curse so the lonely gardener could enjoy teatime forever. He's well-read and enjoys taking notes from various travelers, sharing stories of his own projects and adventures. He'll offer you the scones and you will decline. You talk philosophy and politics, compare leather-working tools and mending spells.
He offers the scones to you more insistently, but you decline, until he tries to force-feed you. You escape by running into his gardening shed which snaps you out of your stupor. You'll slam the book shut. It wasn't until the invention of the camera that anybody actually read the contents of the book.
It is a curse, after all. However, for all intents and purposes, Merryk lives a full life in his cottage and has a provable existence outside inquiring wizard's drop-in visits. He enjoys lemongrass mint tea and can be physically harmed. Merryk deserves federal protections. Call, email, and write to your government representatives.

Storia Di Musica #303 - Billy Cobham, Spectrum, 1973

Okay, for starters....Like PP's dress, but it's waaayyyy too much for the event and OFC she made MM's premiere ALL about herself, endlessly attention whored.....and her face looks REALLY weird these days....
PP literally treats SweatBoi like her servant AND looks miserable unless there's a camera....(he's legit her nu SlaveTay!)
Tumblr media
A) even if this were true (no), how fucking high school/moar confirmation the BB is (at least intellectually) 12....
B) And yet they ONLY are ever together once every 6 months, for very public events to Powerpuff Girls together, because they still think that's what makes them relevant....interestingly, Crotchi didn't bother to actually see PP when she did her photo ops at Coachella (despite name dropping her in an interview)....and MM doesn't bother, period.
C) Just realiced: MM has now led her own, likely successful theatrical release and while it was so bad I had to turn it off, Musica did get good, albeit entirely unjustified reviews....ironic, no, BB that all the Plaiderdale peeps "unemployed" during the strike, while PP scabbed are now moar successful than she is, huh????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TBF? It's for the cameras, but SweatBoi looks kinda threatened, no? DW, CB, so long as you're a good slave, she'll keep ya around!
Tumblr media
Like I said, "true slave".....dude, normally this task is assigned to a low level flunkie.....but does show how juvenile you are about, literally, everything....that you think it's amazing that he holds her purse...
Moooommmm!!! I don't wanna gooo!!! I hate your friends and these dumb clothes you bought me from the International Male Collection at Sears are itcheeeeee!!!
(not sure what's "hot" here, BB.....cuz I see zero chemistry and, again, two people who appear to actively dislike one another....)
Tumblr media
Oopppsss!!! PP got wasted!
Tumblr media
When the International Male Collection at Sears tries out its nu Cole Sprouse line....without consulting Cole.....and fails...
OML.....MM and Crotchi clearly dislike CB....they won't even acknowledge him! And, again, moar distant MotherBoi!
Tumblr media
You're 12 again...also, too, also:
MOTHERBOIIIII!!!!
Tumblr media
Ummm.....noooo, that's "such a Cole move", so, once again....
A) Copycat!
B) MOTHERBOIIIIII!!!!
C) Nose tries to shade Cole, weirdly, with this....while confirming the copycatting....
D) "identify"?????
And, lastly, why does PP need to buy "old $$$$" SweatBoi nu clothes from the International Male Collection at Sears, anyway???? (and, ofc, those clothes look cheap and ugleee to meeee!)
Errmmm.....again, nope....she dragged her slave along, cuz time to refresh her lipgloss....
Tumblr media
As u admit upthread, Nose, it old, uglee and he's repeating (which, again, you TRY and pretend isn't copycatting Cole/somehow awesome when done by SweatBoi)

"Creativity is what makes humanity move. We were created to participate."
Keith Jarrett who turns 79 today.
"Over the Rainbow", performed in Tokyo 1984.
(English / Español / Italiano)
Possessing perfect pitch, while in high school, he heard a live performance of Dave Brubeck, and when invited to study classical composition in Paris, he was already leaning toward jazz and turned it down. He got kicked out of Berklee College of Music for playing the piano strings and "messing" with the inside of the piano. His first commercial record was with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, and he went on work and record with Charles Lloyd and Miles Davis.
By the early 1970s, Jarrett's improvisations drew from the traditions of jazz and other genres, including Western classical music, gospel, blues, and ethnic folk music.
His album, 'The Köln Concert,' became the best-selling piano recording in history. Jarrett received the Polar Music Prize and was the first recipient to be recognized with prizes for both contemporary and classical music.
In 2018, Jarrett suffered two strokes and has been unable to perform since. But we still dream of the possibilities of what lies ahead.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i could not tell you bc i wouldn’t know where to start. i remember really liking michael jackson when i was little. listening to his music, watching videos & docs about him. my pa usually listened to cumbias & salsa. my mom doesn’t really listen to music but when she does, she listens to los temerarios. but to me, it all sounded the same. that’s until i listened to pedro fernandez. i realized i really like mariachi & musica ranchera. my father would listen to rancheras when he’d get drunk but i listened to them whenever & i didn’t discover musica ranchera through him so it feels more personal to me bc it’s like oh yeah i like this music. usually when mexican adults ask me what kind of music i like i tell them rancheras & they’re always so surprised bc apparently that’s not what they’d expect a young person to say. which is sad bc rancheras are amazing! but anyways my father did introduce me to rock music. ac/dc i remember was the first rock band that blew my mind. then my pa showed me other bands & artists like guns n’ roses, kiss, janis joplin, led zeppelin, etc. yknow classic rock. he’s not much of a heavy metal fan or grunge typa guy but he does like his classic rock. so, afterwards i started listening to black sabbath. ac/dc & black sabbath to me are like top tier classic rock bands. but i still have a lot more classic rock music to discover. though i am discovering more & more every day now that old man daniel sends me classic rock music or even just 60s music. oh & when i was little i really liked selena gomez but you already knew that. in middle school or early high school i started listening to opera. it was actually bc i heard la mamma morta in the movie philadelphia starring tom hanks (tom hanks so cool). i hadn’t really listened to opera before that bc my parents aren’t into that type of music so it was just never played in the house. so la mamma morta is french. i would say i got into french opera but really it was just one artist i was listening to namely maria callas. i remember ariana thought this was so interesting & she would tell people about how i liked french opera. so anyways i don’t listen to opera much these days but i do like it. maria callas (french), luciano pavarotti (italian), & monserrat caballe (spanish) are my top three opera artists (? what are opera singers called??? is that it just opera singer? maybe) um but yeah so then in late high school or early college? perhaps? is when i started making playlists no wait actusllt i really got into making playlists when i got my spotify account as a college student. but i had playlists before like on youtube. yeah let me check my playlists on youtube. i had a driving, hype, rancheras, 80’s, banjo, sleeping, peaceful, emo, indies, christmas, classic rock, chill(spongebob) playlists. but i wasn’t listening to music nearly as much as i do now. rn i’m listening to a song(?) melody(?) tune(?) idk what it’s called but i’m listening to “Think of me once in a while, Take care” by Take Care. it’s so peaceful. i think you would like it. it’s on spotify. it would fit your mimis playlist “vibe” i don’t like to say vibe but i know you separate your playlists by “vibes” so that is how i am describing it
