The popularity and "who would you like as a husband" poll back in like... 2008, where Hibari won over other character as well as other series main characters got me really thinking.
And like, some kinda confused as to why ppl would choose him over s/o, for example, Tsuna.
But like, you know the type of babygirl male characters nowadays that got you go "oouuu my little homicidal man did you just eat that man alive, how adorable. Let me just clean you up." Yeah that's Hibari.
The Japanese female demographics back then didn't have a few screw loose in their head. They're simply visionary ppl.

Since Mukuro and Tsuna are still weirdly connected, Tsuna’s sometimes gotten glimpses of things he wasn’t ever supposed to, and vice versa on Mukuro’s end. He usually shoves Tsuna awake once he notices Tsuna’s accidentally plopped into one of his memories, but
If it’s one of Tsuna’s, he’ll let it play out without interruption. It’s never anything of note, anyhow, so expending energy to wake him would be pointless >liar mc liar face
Eventually this gets him more than he bargained for
There’s also a lot of stuff in Tsuna’s mind that, once he’s aware of it, it makes him go okay hold up
Because it’s not like he ever assumed that Tsuna was some happy go lucky idiot, but he also assumed he wasn’t actually thinking about much in that head of his he’s sure is more fluff than brains
Gokudera-kun is going to be disillusioned with me any day now. I’m grateful to him but I feel bad for somehow tricking him like this. I shouldn’t let him get too close but I don’t want to hurt him, either. What should I do? I’m sorry, Gokudera-kun. Please don’t hate me when you figure it out.
Yamamoto is such a nice person; he shouldn’t be stuck around someone like me. He’s like Kyoko-chan like that. Nice to everyone, even useless, no good me. I wouldn’t be surprised if she fell in love with him. Of course the two nicest people in the whole school would date, right? I’m so worried about him… I don’t know how to handle the way he lights up when he sees me. What should I do? Don’t try and hurt yourself again. Don’t get hurt for my sake, either. I’m sorry I’m so weak…
Hibari-san doesn’t treat me differently from anyone else. He’s super scary but he still bothers to treat me like I’m normal. I think if even he began to act like I wasn’t worth his time I would seriously just give up and call it quits. Things have gotten so messed up. I’m relying on a psychopath like that kicking my ass to reassure me I still mean something. If even someone who values strength above all else still has hope for me what choice do I have?
Reborn’s going to give up on me. Reborn’s going to give up on me. Reborn’s going to give up on me. Don’t go. Don’t go. Don’t go don’t go don’t go don’t go don’t go don’t go don’t go don’t go— It would be just like me to be so useless I beat the world’s greatest, huh?
The only words he ever found in relation to himself, and words that shake him to his core, are very simple ones
Please wait for me
One time, though, he managed to dive deep enough to find the source of Tsuna’s Dying Will, and he keeps going back despite knowing it’s a pointless, silly thing to do.
There are still the broken remnants of a cage around it. If he sits near it like this, he can almost pretend he isn’t in Vindicare. The cage is still red hot. He’ll burn his fingers if he tries to handle them. The flames reach out to him but don’t touch.
It is not a soft, warm home.
It is something which, if he allowed it to, would consume him right down to his marrow.
This is how Sawada Tsunayoshi has always survived
One day he sees that flame guttering, and he feels panic swell in his throat, because what could possibly, after all this time, be dimming that roaring inferno
There’s ice at the base now
Tsuna made a binding vow to destroy Vongola, that rotten, shambling corpse of a man’s ideals puppeteered by someone with a face a lot like his.
He knows better than anyone that when you make that kind of vow, if you don’t fulfill it… There are consequences.
The mafia has practically deified Vongola Primo’s will into its own separate entity.
The ring, rebuilt and no longer fit for any other, past or future, weighs cold on a young boy’s finger, demanding he make good on his promise
Mukuro wants to destroy the mafia. He’ll get his wish. He’ll make sure of it.
Sawada Tsunayoshi… Is too kind for that life, anyhow.

Day 3 - at some point the vongola 10th squad will move to italy, lbr. Question is: what is rhe BIGGEST culture shock for the japanese boys? What ia the thing Dera and Lambo will miss most about Japan? Anything anyonw will have issues to adapt to or adapt to again?
I actually think that me and you have talked somewhat about this before! At least, the fact that I really don’t think that the Vongola 10th move to Italy full-time. The TYL! Arc was still set in Namimori, where we see a strong Vongola presence in Japan. We kind of see that a lot of them were off and doing their own things. Chrome was in France, along with Chikusa and Ken. Yamamoto had said he was off and playing baseball, and to be doing so at 24/25, I like to believe it means that he was at least able to go semi-pro, like he’d hoped in his younger years to do so. It’s said that Ryohei was visiting Italy to see Lussuria, and that combined with the photos on his dresser and Hana’s dresser, leads me to believe he divides his time in between different places and that he still spends a good chunk of time in Japan, albeit it I don’t believe he lives there year-round either. Hibari is so devoted to Namimori, it’s a huge part of his character, that I do not see him being willing to move full-time to a foreign country. On top of that, Tsuna’s Vongola Neo has broken literally every single other rule around Mafia life, for the most part, that I don’t think they’re going to follow some old-fashioned rule about needing to live and operate exclusively in Italy. There’s just a lot of inference, in my personal opinion, that lends itself more to the idea that Tsuna’s Vongola operates on a more global scale. Hell, if the right people were to find their way into the story in future arcs, I could even see the reach of the Vongola extending past Italy, past Japan, and extending into many other countries, though I don’t think it will be Tsuna’s goal and more something that just kind of happens.
With all that being said, I’ll do my best to answer the question, really just focusing on what the biggest culture shocks were for everyone when they first visited and what they had the most trouble getting used to, whenever they spend any amount of time there.
Tsuna really struggles with just how much more pressure he feels whilst in Italy. Whenever he is in Italy, whether it’s a short visit or a longer stay, there just seems to exist a pressure that he doesn’t feel when he’s back in Japan, with his Guardians and those that he’s gotten to know since his teenage years. In Italy, more people seem to know him and those that don’t seem to suddenly kowtow and treat him with a respect bordering a little on fear at times as soon as they hear the word Vongola in relation to him. Those left over from Timoteo’s time as the Vongola boss all seem to have great expectations from Tsuna or expect him to largely be something he’s really not, even though they have all had literally years to realize that Tsuna does not want the Vongola to continue the way it always had prior to this. There’s just a lot of stress, anxiety and pressure that he feels whenever he has to spend time there that he’s not really fond of. Plus, with all the stress and anxiety, on top of the difference in his diet while in Italy, he always struggles with stomach issues while there.
For Yamamoto, the biggest culture shock is really just getting used to how grand everything seems. Namimori was kind of a sleepy little Japanese town where most everyone knows everyone else. He’s used to knowing all his neighbours. He’s used to just casually chattering away with the elderly folks. He’s used to a specific type of architecture. Italy? Nothing at all like what he’s used to. It really hit him, the scale and grandness of some of Italy’s architecture, how big the country really is, how just…different…everything is on that first trip he took there with Dino back as a teen. Despite knowing in his mind after that what Italy can be like and that it is different from Namimori, the fact still really hits him each and every time he goes there. To him, there’s just something old and grand and cultured about Italy and while he loves it, it also kind of makes him feel out of place at times.
Gokudera doesn’t really experience much in the way of culture shock when it comes to returning to Italy. He spent too many years of his life there, so he knows what it’s like. He’s accustomed to it and every time he returns, he just kind of slips effortlessly back into the customs and culture of the place. He not only has that going for him, but I also don’t see him as being someone who is prone to experiencing much culture shocks. Any time he is going to be travelling to someone new and unfamiliar to him, he spends a lot of time researching the geography, interesting locations, history, and culture of the place he’s going to. He learns social customs and taboos. He’s always been kind of a nerd when it comes to researching in that it’s something that makes him happy, but this kind of research also means that he feels pretty well-prepared for exploring untrodden ground.
Ryohei? His biggest culture shock moment, and the thing he finds hardest to adjust to, is definitely the currency system. He’s spent his entire life using Japan’s currency system. He knows the yen. It’s all he knows. So switching to the euro and remembering how to convert a yen to a euro on the fly? It’s really, really hard for Ryohei, who isn’t the best at math-based things to begin with. It kind of hurts his brain and it’s going to take him at least a solid month before he becomes at all comfortable with it. Even then, he’s still going to prefer what he’s grown up with and is the most comfortable, and frequently encourages his Italian friends to champion converting their country’s currency system over to the yen.
While Lambo might have spent the first four to five years of his life in Italy, enough to have pleasant memories of it, he has, for the large part, grown up in Japan. He’s spent most of his formative years in Japan. He’s no more fully steeped in Italy’s culture than an Italian-American who goes on their first trip to Italy to ‘discover their roots’ is. It also doesn’t help that a lot of his memories are from such a young age, when they’re hazy enough that he doesn’t remember what was make-believe and what was truly real. Because of that, he is definitely prone to culture shock. The biggest one that gets him is the food culture between Japan and Italy…honestly though, he’s not complaining. While he’ll miss Nana’s home cooking anytime he’s in Italy for long stretches, he’ll find he’ll go back to Japan and really end up missing out on some traditional Italian dishes that he routinely had while there as well.
Hibari experiences less culture shock then you would expect. It’s mostly because, when he travels, which we’ve been shown he does with startling frequency (he’s been travelling as an adult when we see him in the Future Arc, he travels to various places to train with Dino during the ring arc), there’s explicit reasons and purpose behind his travels. When he’s going someplace new, someplace outside of Namimori or even outside of Japan, he’s doing so for one or two explicit reasons and those reasons are all he cares about. He doesn’t want to sightsee. He doesn’t give a shit about the culture or immersing himself in it. He can speak the language (sometimes only crudely, but enough to carry on basic conversations), he can figure out where he’s going, that’s all he needs. It’s really tough to experience culture shock when you don’t care about the culture, when you just want to accomplish something and leave the country.
Mukuro really doesn’t experience a lot of culture shock anytime he’s in Italy. It’s got nothing to do with whether he’s from there or not originally, as I know there’s some differing opinions on that, but more to do with the fact that Mukuro travels the world. He’s not someone who stays exclusively in one location constantly and has no experience outside his home base. He likes traveling and he’s someone who honestly finds a lot of fun in learning about the culture of a place before going there. Some of his ideas are definitely very misinformed and based on popular media, but he does his best to learn the language of the area and at least the broad strokes of culture. He doesn’t really get ‘culture shock’ because he’s throwing himself into the culture, getting as immersed in it as humanly possible, whenever possible. The new experiences and the differences in how societies function intrigues him instead of confusing him.
Chrome’s biggest culture shock the first time she was in Italy? Just how physically affectionate Italian’s seem to her. To her, compared to Japan, they seem very touch-focused and it’s something she really, really doesn’t like. There’s a lot of amazing things about Italy in Chrome’s mind, but that’s not one of them.

Hibari for earl grey and chai tea pls
Tumblr media
hiiii anon!!! all good, thank you! weeeee everyone suddenly wants to know how they spice up their relationships lol. but these were fun, thank you!!
character/s: tyl!hibari kyoya, reader-insert (gender-neutral)
word count: —
warnings: the second one is intentionally written to come off suggestive in the narration and dialogue lol
prompt: tea prompts (coffee, chai tea)
Tumblr media
coffee; do they get jealous easily? how do they show it?
hah. ha. well, not in the most… convenient way…? not that he’s ever had to worry about his partner cheating on him or being unfaithful, and usually walking around publicly as Hibari Kyoya’s partner you’d skip a lot of people trying to hit on you. but I think he’d still get… unnecessarily…. competitive? he knows he’s stronger, he knows he’s better, this other person can eat shit. it’s all very stupid truthfully lmfao
Their nervousness was getting worse the longer this conversation went on. You were trying to steer it into something that would help comfort him, but Kyoya’s presence was like a wall. Unmoving, unfaltering.
“Oh, the time…” You looked up at Kyoya for a moment. “You’ve got to go, don’t you?”
Kyoya nodded once. “Yes. A meeting.” Your expression flattened when he held the other’s gaze evenly. “A Guardian meeting.”
The flaunting of his title seemed to work a bit, because the man you’d been talking to flinched a little. You could almost hear Kyoya snort in amusement over the reaction, so you grabbed his arm, tightly.
“You should get going, then. Don’t want to be late.”
“It’d be a shame if someone held me up, huh.”
“O-Oh! I’ll let you get to it then, Sir!” You smiled warily as the man in front of you bowed his head and left with a quiet goodbye in your direction, waving.
Once he was gone you turned to smack Kyoya’s arm before doing it again for good measure. “What’s wrong with you? Cut it out.”
“It’s kind of funny, isn’t it? I wonder how they’ve survived this long.”
You turned him and forced him down the hall with a loud noise. “You’re like a mafia anomaly to these people. Stop scaring people for no reason.”
“They’re scared because they know I’m stronger.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
chai tea; how do they spice up their relationship?
right. so, you’d know how to fight already by his standards. I think for shits and giggles he’d just give you his weapons. just let you go to town learning them, and I bet he’d probably think that’s soooooo attractive, sooooooo cool and sexy. he’s a stickler for the rules (the ones he likes following, at least) so he wouldn’t do anything too reckless, but fighting is right up his alley, so letting your learn with something apart of him is the way he’d go about it
“Harder!”
You seemed to do well, getting yelled at and commanded into things, because your next swing at the dummy took the wooden head off it’s stiff shoulders, letting the heavy ‘thunk’ echo in the training room.
“Yeah!” You threw your hands up, gripping his tonfa tightly. “Got his stupid ass head off!” You turned to grin at him, eyes wide and sparkling. Chest heaving with adrenaline from training. Very clearly expecting praise.
Kyoya sighed softly, head tilting, but he watched you with amusement. He waved a hand at you, instructing you to come closer, and you came immediately.
Once close enough, he lifted a hand to pet you on the head once. “Good job. Now go destroy the others and I’ll give you a reward.”
The way you visibly lit up, practically vibrating with excitement, was almost endearing. He waved you off and you ran off with a laugh, lifting up a tonfa threateningly. They looked good in your hands.

Who is in charge of recruiting SWORD members?
Well, I think the title say it. And Mild Spoilers when it comes to Kizaru & Egg Head.
But is something that is stuck on my mind.
I have some ideas. And just to warn you, a lot of my reasoning contains X Drake, I‘m a bit obsessed. So let’s start with him.
Tumblr media
X Drake
He seems to be the leader of SWORD. I use „seems to be“ because he is at least the captain of those we know. No idea if the group is bigger than those six guys we know.
Being in charge would make him a obvious option, but he is undercover since at least short before sabaody.
But Corby & Helmeppo probably were nobody’s back then and he wouldn’t have known about them. Corby made a name of himself somewhere during the timeskip. Drake probably heard about him but how does he know he would be a good choice?
Prince Grus joined the Marines vaguely the same time as Corbymeppo, so same reading here.
I headcanon Kujalu and Drake knew each other for quite a while, he being a son to Sengoku and her being Tsurus Granddaughter.
So Drake would be likely because he is in charge, but both beeinf active as a Marine would make it harder to find people who fit in.
But it would be a reason why the group is so small.
Tumblr media
Sengoku
First undercover pirate we saw was Rosinante, who was a son to Sengoku.
Second and apparently leader of SWORD is Diez Drake, also kind of adopted by Sengoku. So either he has really shitty parenting skills, or there’s a pattern.
Rosinante did report to him, back when Sengoku was an Admiral. As Fleetadmiral he is probably to buisy to continue, so I‘d guess he handed it over to someone else.
Tumblr media
Monkey D. Garp
Just throwing him in, he at least was present once when Rosninate called Sengoku and he trained Corby & Helmeppo, also a friend of Sengoku and someone who isn’t always following the rules. And has some trouble with the system.
Tumblr media
Tsuru
Nope, she probably can guess her part on Drake being undercover since knows a bit about Rosinante by now- but back in the day she didn’t, so ist not her but I assume she is aware of quite a lot.
Now let’s get to the admirals:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I doubt Fujitora/Issho or Ryokugyu/Aramaki (didn’t find a GiF for him)are in it.
My guess is they know about it, since Kuzan knew about SWORD. And my guess is it was Green bull who brought Drake back from Wano, since he was already there. And I doubt it were the other SWORD members, they barely escaped Blackbeard, Corby was injured and Hibari frozen, not the best start to do another rescue mission to Wano.
Tumblr media
Kuzan/Aokiji
Definitely knows about SWORD.
And honestly, his whole failing to become Fleetadmiral and then joining Blackbeard of all people is suspicious as fuck to me. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is undercover as well. I mean, Blackbeard gives me major „Evil vibes, so from being a rather good guy to joining the worst of the worst? He could have joined Shanks, who (is a
Suspicious at times as well) seems to be respected by the Marines, as we see on Marineford.
But he left after the paramount war, so hard to recruit if you’re not there. But same as Drake, a reason to why the group is so small.
So I let’s get so Sakazuki and Borsalino.
I think at least one of them knows more than he lets on.
Tumblr media
Sakazuki/Akainu/the Donutmaker
Kizaru wanted to go to Wano and Sakazuki said they don’t know about the strength of the enemy. Which isn’t true, because they have someone there.
So it would be obvious that Sakazuki doesn’t know about that. But he is the Fleetadmiral, he should know that he has a spy there, the WG and CP0 do know, it would be weird if he didn’t.
So he either really doesn’t know or he is lying. Or he is just reminding Lizaru that they have to act as if they don’t know a thing.
While I‘m not sure how far he is involved, during Dress Rosa we saw he is somehow pissed at how things are going and that he cant do what he wants because of the WG. And against Whitebeard he used subterfuge.
So at least I doubt he is against SWORD. It seems like something he would approve of. He is merciless to his version of justice and we know Drake terrorized some people for the sake of his cover (Amigasa village) so I‘d say Akainu is all in as long as it serves Justice and it gives the opportunity to go against the emperors and others without the bureaucracy.
And another Bonus: He can cut the SWORD members loose, if they cause to much trouble, like that guy who stood in his way at Marineford for his ideals(*caugh* Corby).
Tumblr media
And finally, my favorite in this,
Kizaru/Borsalino
I mean, „unclear justice“? In a post about Drake in had a conversation in the comments and we agree on Drake is „Chaotic Lawful- I have a strict moral code, but nobody can figure out what the hell it is“.
Would be fitting for Kizarus unclear justice as well.
Another reason:
He and Drake worked together two years before the start of One Piece. Probably just to close the loop to why Drake knew about the Pacifista.
But at Sbaody he „forgot“ to add the „ex“ while addressing Drake with his title.
And he wanted to go to Wano, because maybe he knew more, because he has someone there. And maybe was a tad worried, at Egg Head seems to have something like a conscience.
What are your guesses?
Did I forget someone?
I‘d be happy to hear opinions or ideas.

Hiiii Ein! Hope the pain has lessened, huuno! For everyone: "Does your OC love anyone? (romantic)",  Kurumi: "Who would your OC say is their best friend?", Kana: "Which canon character respects your OC most? What gained that respect?" And Yui: "Did your OC bear witness to anyone’s full character arc?" Sorry for sending so many djdjd take your time!!
Nimaaaa!!! Thank you!!! I was gone for a bit so I couldn't answer this sooner, but the pain has lessened a good amount during that time 🥰🥰✨ Please don't say sorry for sending asks, I love receiving them, it gives me a topic to yap about for my ocs dskjghdvhs I just get bad at answering them when my health spirals down 😆😆
Here's a sketch inspired from this ask, yipeeee kana triooo
Tumblr media
For everyone: "Does your OC love anyone? (romantic)"
Ooohh!! 👀✨ I love this question, very juicy hahaha 🤣💕 This would depend on which point of the story they are, but the trio will eventually love someone to some romantic extent (at least).
For Kurumi, that's a big YES, as she's quite the hopeless romantic! She loves shoujosei series(or just the romance genre in general) and dreams a lot of being in a relationship like the lead couples there. Add to that her cuteness aggression, it's quite inevitable that she gets crushes of varying degrees on quite a good amount of characters 😆🫶✨ (examples are Tsuna, Kyoko, Haru, Chrome & Enma - if you feel like there's a pattern then yes sjdfbhjsdv). Of course, a simple crush is different from really falling deep in love with someone, but it's a good start. Her only problem is that she can't commit and go through with it (like confessing, etc). I don't know if you know already, but if you see my previous ship arts with her, maybe you already know who she does fall in love with lol
😆👉🐟
For Kana, it's a vague/complicated type of love that can be romantic so I guess that's a "yes"??? Anyway, getting it to even develop slightly towards that direction is technically not impossible, the chance is non-zero, but it's gonna take...A LOT of time, patience, persistence, understanding & survival skills (and acceptance that u can't ever fix her lmao). She already has a ridiculous amount of issues caused by her love(/obsession?) on the platonic side of things ngl mxhdkbddmdn
For Yui, that's a HELL YEAH! Among the trio, he's the only one with dating experience but he really can't say he loved the people he dated romantically. It's more of trial and error run for him. Fortunately for him, he does eventually find someone he likes a lot! I don't think I mentioned this before unlike for the other twins, so I'll put it here lol The person he ends up falling for is Hiyori (Oniyanagi 10th Gen Sun Guardian).
Kurumi: "Who would your OC say is their best friend?"
Kurumi's bestest friends in the whole world are definitely Kana and Yui! 🥰💖✨ They've been through a lot and are very much ride-or-die. Yui is Kurumi's very first friend. They initially became friends out of obligation and loneliness, but after some rough events here and there, it became a genuine friendship. He's stuck with her/supported her during difficult times in their childhood and Kurumi will always appreciate him for that.
Then there's Kana to Kurumi. Where do I even begin? That's a whole rabbit hole right there. They're platonic soulmates, a set package. Do not separate OR ELSE. 👁️👄👁️
Kana: "Which canon character respects your OC most? What gained that respect?"
Oh, from the top of my head, that would be Hibari. I'll just make separate post if I can think of another canon character who can dethrone him in this lmao His respect for her is based on the respect that he would have for strong and worthy opponents. Kind of similar to Reborn? But more chase-able/bully-able (since she's a fellow student, their paths would cross more often).
It all started when Kana attacked and tried to kill him this one time to take over the school (they went ham at that time, Reborn just stopped them). This is what happens when you think murder is always the answer to your problems. You get some guy, with a passion of at least 180 hardcore soulslike game players, who wants to keep on retrying that boss fight @ you.
Yui: "Did your OC bear witness to anyone’s full character arc?"
Yui doesn't really like being in the spotlight. He's not even that fond of having the right-hand man role designated to him and the "formal" responsibilities that come with it (this is why Gokudera criticizes him often). But one of the main reasons he still stuck to this role is so that he can get to watch over the twins in his own way.
He did bear witness to a good amount of Kana's character arc, but since we're talking from start to finish of someone's character arc, then that would be for Kurumi's. No matter what happens, whether this bestfriend of his grows into a fine person or falls into ruins, he will be there to witness it all 🙂

Hi 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Questions time!! For Ava and Lorenzo
Are there any tropes fandom would put upon your character, for better or for worse?
What headcanons/theories do you believe fandom would invent about your character?
By contrast, what would their haters dislike about your character? Is it a petty complaint? A mischaracterization of the character or their intentions? Are they just a woman in a largely male-centric series?
Ask Meme
Hi hi hi there! Thank you for sending this in Mel! I'm so honored that you have interest in my dudes!
Are there any tropes fandom would put upon your character, for better or for worse?
Ava is definitely one of the biggest yandere providers. The way he clings to his brother would spark many many yandere scenarios. I also think he is someone who is put a lot through unhealthy relationships or one sided loves. Another thing I could see with him is going through the entire shipping bingo (only one bed, hanahaki, fake boyfriends, arranged marriage, snowed in together-)
Lorenzo weirdly enough I could see as being made the reluctant team mom? Also def seen as being a witty one liner machine. Biggest enemies to lovers candidate tbh, he gets instantly paired with whoever he has beef with and that's half the cast.
LorAva as a ship would def be a fave for the tragedy enjoyers, because despite them working it out in canon they just have such high angst potential. Lots of "there was only one bed" stories.
What headcanons/theories do you believe fandom would invent about your character?
For Ava they'd definitely do a lot of HCs about how much he is like their mother and what that says about their mother and Ava in return. Lot's of fluffy headcanons about him being pure and wholesome, letting out his box animal to play, holding tea parties. There is definitely a long running theory that all officers and especially Xanxus have "adopted" Ava as their princess because it's Squalos cute younger brother? Many many "Xanxus is actually soft to Ava" headcanons.
Don't ask me how but i believe there'd be people who believe Lorenzo is secretly related to Belphegor or even Gokudera. Def a candidate of moe gap headcanons about him secretly being really into stuff like stuffed animals??? definitely a lot of "he is just misunderstood :c" posts and a strangely wide accepted AU of Lorenzo and Dera being brothers??? It's all good fun though
By contrast, what would their haters dislike about your character? Is it a petty complaint? A mischaracterization of the character or their intentions? Are they just a woman in a largely male-centric series?
The amount of hate for Ava, because there are a good few that ship him with his brother. In general I think most Ava hate would come through how he is depicted by fandom as this uwu shota bean too pure for this world, which makes him seem so unnecesarily childish. With the uwu baby bean comes also the "he has never done anything wrong in his life" which some find extremely annoying because Ava is ALSO violent and hotheaded and can say insanely stupid things. Also lots of hate because of his relationship with Takeshi and the Yama x someone else shippers don't like that.
Lorenzo is definitely just hated because he is a meanie. Or rather it's the whole "they are so unhealthy for each other" debate. One specific thing he is hated for by some is that [SPOILER ALERT] during the fights that break out to determine if Tsuna keeps listening to Squad 4 or if he refuses their teachings, Lorenzo actually wins his fight against Hibari through a technicallity and myyyy god there are enough Hibari fans who hate that so much, and therefore just can't forgive Lorenzo.

Opening pandora's box to ask Neo about her thoughts about the Dying Will Flames 8)
[Neo's game time] ||Accepting||
I won't go into my entire HC on the flames and why characters have certain flames and such, because that is exclusive to talking one on one on discord or something. (It takes actual hours of active typing or talking- so yeah)
I will just talk about a few things here and there 8) Just a random mush of thoughts and HC's
Hmm… where to start? There are a lot of thoughts and understandings that I have, and many HC’s as well. I suppose to start things off, I’ll talk about a detail that I feel a lot of people tend to forget or misunderstand. Certainly, there is a chance that I’m wrong on the premise of fan-translations and the like- but from my understanding and reading into things:
Every single person has inside of their body all of the dying will flame types. These dying will flames course through the veins of every living person and they are called the ‘hadou’. (I’m too lazy to search for the chapter number, but know that it’s in the TYL arc, future Yams who explains this) The way to ignite the flames is to harmonize with the hadou, have a ring that is compatible with the ring, and you must have the determination to actually ignite it. The harmonization and the determination is a difficult thing to do, hence not everyone is able to even ignite their flames.
Secondly, if you don’t have enough of that hadou coursing through your veins, you can’t really ignite it to begin with. As such people have a main flame that they can ignite and sometimes they’ll have sub-flames that they can ignite. I’ve seen many people mistakenly believe that you are born with the flame that you can ignite and that’s it- and I’m here to say that I absolutely disagree with that statement. IF that was the case, it does not explain why Xanxus who originally had pure sky flames could later have an infected sky flame with the storm element to make the ‘rage’ flame.
It wouldn’t explain how Hibari could later ignite the Mist flame after ‘he studied it so hard out of spite that he grew to understand it so he could ignite the mist flam, ironically’. If it were the case that you had to be born only with the select flame type, then Gokudera should’ve been considered a monster or a freak of nature and that’s not true. We know canonically that Gokudera is a genius. IF you need to understand/harmonize with a flame to be able to ignite it, it makes perfect sense that Gokudera is able to ignite so many of the flame types BECAUSE he is a genius. He is a hard worker to boot, so he would’ve practiced to find a way to ignite the various flames he wanted to.
Why not the Sky and the mist flame? Gokudera doesn’t really fit with the mist element on the basis of the way he acts and thinks. It’s not very compatible with him, and he would’ve stayed away form even trying to ignite the sky flame because it is a symbol of being a boss, and he wouldn’t dare risk anything feeling like he’s trying to usurp Tsuna’s place.
This would also be a good explanation why for why Rasiel and Belpehgor don’t use the sky flame, even though they are quite literally royalty, a rank of power and authority. By all means, you’d imagine they would have the sky flame, but why don’t they? They don’t really care for actually ruling over things. They care more for destroying things or showing off their skills. Belphegor especially cares for gore and just being a chaos gremlin. Storm fits him PERFECTLY.
Everyone has the hadou running through their veins, but like stated in canon: everyone has a different amount of each flames. Think of it like a fingerprint, where everyone has a different level of flames coursing through their veins, where some are dominant and some are smaller in amount. If the amount is so small, it can’t really be ignited. This is what would prevent someone from being so OP that they could ignite all the flames, I’d imagine.
I do believe that Lal Mirch is another good example of the fact that everyone has different flame types in their veins. She was originally to be the rain arcobaleno but then after Colonello pushes her out of the way, her incomplete pacifier ‘changed’ her dominant flame typing to be the mist and cloud. I do love how it is the mist and the cloud because they are related to rain. You can’t have rain without clouds, and the mist is really like rain that hasn’t fallen yet. Clever, clever.
As we know, from the final arc, the dying will flames are really energy forces that sustain life of all living things on earth. The only reason why they are called the Dying Will flames of the Sky, Cloud, Mist, Rain, Storm, Sun, and Lightning is LITERALLY because of the Vongola. People also forget about this fact. It was the Vongola that dubbed these flame types the names and then used these to categorize the guardians as ‘roles’.
Knowing that the flames are what sustains life, it makes sense that when you have such a strong will to complete something, even if it would kill you (hence dying will), that the flames can just burst forth. It makes sense! You’re basically willing to burn through your life force to get something done. Do I think that someone who uses a lot of dying will flame can die sooner rather than later? It is possible. I believe that is why some of the Sky Arcobaleno had such short lives, because many of them were also the keepers of the Mare Rings as well.
They had to protect not just 1 but 2 of the tri-ni-sette. That’s a lot of responsibility and energy consumption. The Arcobaleno especially are always fueling their pacifiers with flames to keep them lit. When they die, the pacifiers burn out and go dull. I personally believe that the curse has them cursed into baby forms because the younger you are, the more vitality and potential that your cells have. Babies grow so fast and can heal quite quickly from a lot of injuries, so keeping their bodies young not only reduces the amount of energy they need to expel on the daily, but it can keep them pretty healthy.
I sincerely doubt they were transformed into true babies, hence they were still able to enjoy things like coffee, having excellent reflexes like their adult forms, etc.
Anyways, going back to the fact that the flames are the literal power source of life, I believe that is the reason why the first generation Vongola are within the Vongola Rings themselves. They actually split off a part of their souls/dying will flames to supplant them into the rings. It doesn’t really matter if the guardians do so, but each of the bosses must. Hence you’ll see a figment of each of the past bosses within the ring who come forth during “the trial”. This is because the Vongola were trusted to be the protectors of the Vongola rings, a part of the tri-ni-sette. The other reason is because Giotto wanted to vow that his line would one day reunite with Cozart’s line.
What better way to do that than to put a bit of his soul into the ring so he can literally test every successor. If they don’t contain his bloodline, the flames of the ring would burst forth and burn the person- as we’ve seen with Xanxus. Cozart must have done the same with his own ring, hence the two boss rings always had a reaction to each other. The boss rings are special for that reason.
I feel like stopping there, so I’ll stop here! Any specific questions about the dying will flames, I’ll be open to answering them. ^^

Reading KHR in Japanese (1)
I have previously posted about that in Japanese, the speaking shows characters's personality.
Very happily, I was asked to know about the other characters, so here! I'm going to split this into two posts because it's going to be long. Thanks for the request!!( @misteriosasaky )
Tsuna
First person : "Ore"
Second person : thier name (sometimes "Omae"/"Kimi")
On the whole : middle school student-like,mild,childlike
Overall, his speaking is typical of middle school students but also a bit childlike. His speaking is mild style and honest. He is a straight-man in comedy scenes. Including that, sometimes his tone can be rough. He comes on especially strong with Reborn and kids. But most of the time it is like an big brother scolding little brothers.
His *unconscious* choice of words says a lot about his personality. He uses soft words, especially with his friends. When he is angry, he is not intimidating as if he is scaring them. If anything, he appeals to them to understand. We can know he isn't get used to being angry seriously.
He uses the first person most often used by middle school students("Ore"). He doesn't use second/third person pronouns very often and often calls them by name. If he uses them, it is "Kimi" or "Omae". He uses "Kimi" for new acquaintances and close friends. "Omae" is used for kids or his enemies. However, when he is in hyper mode, he uses "Omae" for everyone but Kyoko.
And he uses honorifics and honorific title for older. Like, Ryohei, Hibari or Dino. But it isn't overly formal. When speaking with them, Tsuna's junior disposition is often evident.
However, he doesn't use honorifics or honorific titles for those who were his enemies, regardless of their age. Even to Xanxus. He wary or fearful of those who are no longer his enemies, but he relatively casual speaking although. But, this tendency seems to be limited to those whom he had confronted. When he met Varia at the Arcobaleno arc, he used honorifics toward Belle. I really like the moment that he was confused about whether he should use honorific titles for Squalo when they finished last fight and stay in hospital. He seems to have trouble of distance between many people.
Of course, there are points where it depends on the relationship with the one. Or rarely, as towards Lal, he uses honorific at first but later it can lose.
Especially in the early arc, his speaking shows that he feels inferior to those around him. He feels little nervous and always haven't confident in what he says. He gives up on himself and often makes statement sexpression that deny any possibility from the start like;"I'm nothing anyway","I can't do this anyway" And he tends to keep in mind his confusion about what the other person said or did, or how he felt. Also, whenever he makes a decision, he always asks for someone's help. There is a nuance there that he isn't asking for opinions, but for the right answers. He don't ask "What do YOU think?",but "What should I do?"
His original genuine personality makes his words is always very sincere. His words come straight from his heart. So he is not able to say sophisticated things in important situations. He doesn't have the skill to tell everything in a few word, like the protagonists of other works. He searches clumsily for the right words even while speaking, wondering over how to convey something he wants to say, there is falter in his words.
But therefore, we can feel his words are always natural and real mind. That is why he move people's hearts. No matter what trials he went through, he never lost sight of his virtue.
His speaking style is not very unique. He has the roughness or informality typical of middle school students. It shows his innocent like little brother, sometimes caring like big brother. And maybe nervous or at a loss for words. He is not the type of person who is good at conversation. However, it can tell that he is a kind person. We know he feels or what the other person is to him in the way of speaking, directly. That is another good thing about him.
Thank you for reading!!! If you want keep reading of same theme post about another character ; :D

Hibari's Family Might Be Involved In Law Enforcement (Meta)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.Whiskey.
I know this might not line up but some things have led me to headcanon Hibari might be the son of a police officer. We know he's often aloof, but it could be for a good reason, if his family is involved in law enforcement that means he actually can't get too close to people. General motif also could hint at a law enforcement background (tonfa, handcuffs, etc). It also would make sense as his position is the Cloud, and the Cloud's primary job is to protect the family from an independent standpoint. There could possibly have been several times the Vongola members were in hot water and what better way to get them out of it if one of their own is related to an officer. Imagine Tsuna or Gokudera facing charges and it's Hibari to the rescue at the last minute and it works because who wouldn't believe the son of a cop? Hibari is just as much a delinquent himself as the others but might get out of it more because his family name has pull around Namimori, and to me it makes sense that he could be the reason some of the members, like Gokudera and Tsuna avoided arrest at some points. Imagine Officer Hibari going to arrest one of the 10th Gen and Kyouya shows up telling him something like "no, he wouldn't do something like that, I would know I go to school with him, dad let him go." and it ends up getting them out of a lot of shit that could have been worse. To me it makes a lot of sense.
Bonus: One of the trading cards even shows Hibari in what looks to be a police uniform.
Tumblr media
I know it doesn't prove anything but it's what brought on this headcanon.

❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🖤 💖💔💕📖🏳️‍🌈💀
I took so long so I'm sorry, Jojo!! I'll include the questions with the answers ☆ ~('▽^人) Answers below because these are a lot of questions!
🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?
Imma be real, I don't really pay attention to fan theories...? Like...do we have any...well Jojo told me there was one about how Gokudera survived on the streets and that was really disgusting to me. :) I completely disagree this poor kid had to "sell himself" in order to survive, especially when the manga and light novel made it clear he was surviving through violence.
💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?
D18!!!! I can't get behind it because every iteration I see of it...Hibari never acts like himself? Like who is that! That's not Hibari ;A; like age gap aside and stuff, even when they're both adults he's so...unlike him. Just some blushing mewling beast. lol
💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?
I'm always surprised by how people forget that Gokudera is a sweetheart? The guy doesn't "like" but LOVE and so deeply too!! If you're someone he claims, he'll be more likely to treat you like he did Tsuna than, like, Yamamoto...I always wonder why folks don't think that? Gokudera is someone who is love starved in every sense of the word so if he fell for you than he'd drink you up like a man in the desert searching for water. He wouldn't be mean to you at all!! Also I love to think as the series progresses passed its end, Gokudera would soften and become sweeter with the rest of the gang as well. He is just awkward, angry and cautious. Like a street cat! He needs time!
💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?
I love how these questions are like... "let's start a fight!" lmao anyway, hmmm...who isn't as hot as everyone thinks...this is hard because KHR is full of such pretty people!! I feel like anyone I say, it'd be like...obvious and not an unpopular opinion? -thinks some more- um...Bel [decided to start a fight]
💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
GOKUDERA HAYATO!!! BUT ALSO ZAKURO!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
This is a funny one because I think instead of saying "not as morally bad" I see takes that soften them up instead? Hm, let's see...let's go with...bruh. lol THIS ONE IS ALSO HARD! Let's go with Squalo but only because he has some manners [he brings a gift when visiting! What a decent fellow!!]
🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?
DINO CAVALLONE! He is total scum but I keep seeing things about how he's super sweet and a wonderful guy? It's funny though, ahaha. Dino himself says he is scum! I think it's due to him having a strong sense of responsibility and obligation that has people thinking this though. Like how he calls Tsuna "family" or how civilians in his territory are the most taken care of. Cx
💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
Apparently it's the fact this series is misogynistic lol also not well written but the misogyny is the biggest sin for me!!!
💔: If you had to remove one major character from the series, who would you choose?
SHAMAL. Or rewrite him the way Jojo and I do! Because I'm not fond of sexual predator characters ok lol like stop groping people!!! ESPECIALLY THE MINORS? [If you're wondering we just take that part of him out but he is still a massive cheater and still a scumbag...]
💕: What is an unpopular ship that you like?
An unpopular ship I like...? Mimi x everyone. Okay, okay...I'll be serious... (¬‿¬ ) anyway...for canon characters, I really love Reborn x Colonnello! I actually don't know what is or isn't popular, tho lol I just hardly see this ship these days! I find them really funny. Another one...Hibari x Ryohei is another goldmine!!
📖: If you had to remove one book from the series, which would you choose?
One book from the series...let's go with Arc instead? lol if I had to remove one arc...yeah sorry Enma, I love you but the rest of your family can kick rocks so that Arc can go!!
🏳️‍🌈: Which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn't seem queer to you?
huh, hm. Tbh a few but I'll go with Tsuna!! I really can't see it but I still love plenty of mlm ships with him. It's so cute! HIM AND TAKESHI THOUGH!!! ARUGH. Like when we diverge canon it's like...now it can happen!! Yay.
💀: If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
If I had to choose a major character? Tbh he is my fave villain in the series, I love Byakuran soooooo much! But he should not have returned lmao I say that even though I find present! Byakuran soooo much fun! But still!! He should stay dead!

Ship Bias
Tumblr media
UKIGUMOS - »❝浮雲❞«
(claps hands together)
I was going to say 'I'll keep this brief', but then I'd have to put on a clown costume. So instead, I apologize beforehand for this absolute mess of a tangent. This is a painfully obvious list of ships but here we go.
TLDR:
18->80, 1880, 8018, 80->18
BONUS:
1833/3318, 1859/5918
Detailed desc under 'read more'.
18->80
The appeal of the ship in general is mutual respect and trust, not needing to hide/change anything and their shared traditional Japanese aesthetic. My favourite part of any ship is the pining, so I tend to lean heavily towards bitter-sweet outcomes / one-sided ships. Yamamoto Takeshi is so compatible! He's friendly, caring and clever! But Hibari? Oh no. He hates authority figures. He hates being tied down and restricted. He hates weaklings. He hates owing people. Contradictions are confusing. He hates so many things, it makes it hard for him to really bond. Everyone treats Hibari like he's this troublesome delinquent (I mean, HE IS) or someone to be feared. Most reactions to him are: "EEEE, it's Hibari!" (cowers), "Ugh, this guy." (done), etc. Yamamoto seems to be the only one who is genuinely happy to see him at all. He's also the only one that's happy to hear that Hibari has gotten stronger and even says he wants to fight him again (i-is he a m-masochist?). The point I'm trying to make is that: Yamamoto doesn't want Hibari to change or to behave in this way or that way. He doesn't try to 'fix' Hibari's behaviour and accepts him as is and likes him for that. And I think Hibari reciprocates (mostly) those feelings too. But because Yamamoto is so popular, and Hibari is a moron, I think for the most part, Hibari would sit there pining and pining and pining. He doesn't know how to love or be loved, so this longing feeling and this desire to watch over Yamamoto is very ??? Which is why I tend to lean for a very 18->80 approach.
1880
Reciprocated 1880? Good stuff, good stuff. I think as a couple, they'd keep each other entertained rather well. Admittedly, I have a tough time writing dominant muses but the Hibari that lives in my brain is very much a needy weirdo. He gets cuteness aggression towards Yamamoto LOL. Hibari and Yamamoto both like fighting. Yamamoto can keep up with Hibari and vice versa. I think Yamamoto would be a good influence to Hibari too, gently challenging him about opinions here and there. Overall a solid ship and I will not shut up about them if given the chance (Exhibit A)
8018
I have a massive 1880 bias but that does not mean I don't appreciate a good Yamamoto top (slapped). Their height difference is everything.
80->18
Again, me and my angst loving self. This is also tasty, but it's VERY hard for me to register a world where Hibari doesn't love Yamamoto. I think Yamamoto pining is extremely tasty regardless.
I don't particularly have any ships I genuinely like outside of 1880/8018 because I can't unsee Hibari's gay gaze and his bias towards Yamamoto. Saving him over and over and over is one thing but entrusting your school duties to him, turning up to his ring conflict battle then getting second hand pain and then interrupting a crowd (that he hates) to be like 'what are you talking about, that's Yamamoto Takeshi' is??? Ok, we get it, you're down bad.
Bonus:
These are more like, ships I can tolerate / see the appeal to and won't be too opposed to explore.
1833/3318
They're both senpai! And it seems like they know how to handle each other for the most part. I just have concerns that Hibari would find him too loud LMAO. But they're both morons so maybe they have the chance to share a brain cell.
1859/5918
It's a pretty cracky ship, but I just think it'd be interesting. They'd probably get into petty arguments a lot.

Animals I associate the masters with, WITHOUT using animals the douji already have. For no reason other than I wanna have a thought experiment with myself and how I associate shit.
Mizho/michel - separately, and owl and a coyote. As a single entity, badger. American, specifically.
Owl because of cool calmness, silence, deadly observation, and it's association with death in kemetic mythos.
Coyote because of their tenacity and sheer ability to adapt and survive, also they live in monogamous pairs in the wild.
Badger because the American Badger is the second most brutal bastard weasel to exist, second to the Honey Badger. But the Honey Badger is African and doesn't have the right vibes.
Fusataro - Jaguar
Look I listened to Neon Tiger once and it ruined me, but the Tiger belongs to Sophia and Lions don't jive right. Fusataro doesn't strike me as some in-your-face king type, no pride, no big roar, but can definitely kill a black caiman with a single bite to the skull. Also Black Jaguars are just badass and regal and I love them and I love Fusataro.
Kei - Rat!
This is an unsurprising one, but it's for more than just his teeth. He cares about his family, he's skittish, but he's not defenseless. I imagine him as a little bit pack-rat like, hoarding little things that might be useful in the future. Rats are very social animals that get depressed alone and I feel like he's a poor wet rat who's stuck in a cage with an aggressive smaller male(Vice) but he deals with it because the alternative is being alone.
Lady Gekko/Rune - Luna Moth/Praying Mantis
Listen I think my reasons for this are obvious. Luna Moth-Moon-Jealousy it fits. BUT ALSO. Luna Moths, once they mature, find love and then die. Which. Yeah. That tracks. And female Praying Mantises are fucking bad ass bugs with a reputation for killing their mates. I don't think I have to explain more than that.
Hana - Honey Badger
Okay I'm writing out my thoughts process as I decide because usually I associate her with a bear cub but I'm avoiding repeating animals and a bear is Eater's. Maybe a Tasmanian Devil but that feels... Almost too easy, I guess? Or maybe she gets the Honey Badger. Yeeee. Cause maybe as she grows her two big role models are probably Mizho and Akitsu and I can absolutely see her going batshit when she hits their age.
Akira - Show-Line Dog, probably something like a Doberman
This one is kinda rough, because I definitely associate him with a young male lion, one who doesn't have a pride yet but is looking to take one over. BUT... Idk if Orghullo's animal is a lion or a foo dog so I'm playing it safe. He's definitely an intelligent animal, and not a dog who's just for looks. He definitely can use his teeth if he has to.
Sumako - Ferret
Domestic, cute, cuddly, wants to hoard her favorite people to herself. But do not forget she is a carnivore and a weasel and ferrets thrive on a whole-prey diet and watching one devour a frozen-thawed mouse is an experience I'll never forget. I want one so bad.
Kaizo - Wild Boar
And now the hardest part. The good guys......
Changed from Hamster. I don't know why, and yes I realize Gauge's animal is a boar, BUT... when I think animal aus or like the daemon au and stuff I just. Keep coming back to a boar. Something something pigs=greedy animal, wild boar=violent pigs. So. Idk.
Yamato - Golden Retriever
Probably a rescue, especially one with a bad history but still has all the love in the world. I really don't think I have to explain this one.
Sayama - Domestic Cat
Aloof, cute, loving if socialized properly(she was not, her father was Dunstan, but I digress), and cunning.
Matsumoto - Grey Fox
Kia has laid claim on the red fox, but I feel like Matsumoto, especially following her sequence with Jun, is a lot more cunning than she lets on. She's meticulous and careful, though also skittish and would rather run than confront a larger threat.
Hibari - Black Footed Wild Cat
Highest K:D Ratio of any wild cat. Extremely protective of their family. Not to be under estimated for their size. Sharp witted, deadly, and smol.
Akitsu - Maned Wolf
Pretty legs Tall, diligent for danger, not quite as deadly as they seem but still a predator.
Musashi - Donkey/Mule
Yoichi - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Changed from moose because. Let's be real, they're not attractive animals and it's hard to take it seriously when I'm trying to write shit.
But he's an ass.
Okay, terrible jokes aside, Donkeys and their ilk are livestock guards against canine predators like coyotes and wolves and they're merciless and stubborn as hell when they have a target. They can be loving and mischievous with their owners.
Listen I'm a dog trainer for a living and there is no animal on this planet that fits this man more than this very specific dog breed. Calm, focused, very smart, literally the perfect first-time-owner dog in my opinion. Easy going, forgiving, would give you the world if they could.

Heya there love! I hope that you are doing alright and that life will granted a break soon 💜🥹🫂
Can I request:
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
For Kyoya please 💜✨
Hey! Thank you so much for the well-wishes. Life being a bit easier would definitely be nice – still feeling a little overwhelmed but working hard and trusting that things will come together in the end, so feeling a little bit better than when I last posted. Thank you again 💜 I appreciate it and the quick, easy ask! I hope it’s still entertaining to read and that you, and any other Kyoya fans, enjoy 😊
14) Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character
When it comes to Hibari, his style really goes one of two ways. I do think that Hibari really does enjoy wearing traditional Japanese garb. This is definitely influenced by the things we see him wear, in his downtime, in the future arc.
I think that he wears yukata to sleep in as an adult and sometimes during his teen years. However, he’s more likely, as a teenager, to wear jinbei around his house.
In public though, during his teen years, he’s almost always wearing his school uniform or outfits that resemble it. To Hibari, the school uniform is everything he could want in clothing – it’s comfortable to him and practical, plus he likes the way it looks.
The comfortable and practical is the most important part to Kyoya though. He has no use for clothes that simply look good. To him, it’s most important that he be able to move every and any way he should want to while in his clothes, that they hold up well, that the fabric they’re made of not bother his skin and that they don’t gain a lot of wear and tear through simple everyday wear.
Hibari hates clothing styles that look ‘sloppy’ to him. He doesn’t really have ‘casual wear’. He’s not a fan of sweatpants, track suits, anything that’s really athletic or loungewear.
I’d label his style overall as a mixture between minimalism and dark academia – there’s a lot of dark colours mixed with fresh white button-downs, solid colours, clean lines, fabrics like wool, cotton, and cashmere.
5) What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Oh, this is a hard one, because there’s really four of them that automatically pop into my head.
The first one is a gimme, something that should go without saying, and is probably a bit of a cheat answer. It’s simply his leitmotif, which, by the way, is one of my favourite leitmotifs from KHR.
The second one is 65daysofstatic’s I Swallowed Hard, Like I Understood. There’s something about the mixture of soft bits and frantic, hard bits that make me envision epic battle scenes with him.
The third is X Ray Dog’s Living Dead that always reminds me of Hibari, though I will just say that the whole Night Hounds album is an album that is Hibari to me, full of amazing fight songs.
In a complete crack song choice, Best of Me by Morningwood is also a total Hibari song to me.

Mitsuru: It’ll work out.
Hibari: I see, that’s a relief. Ah, I’m just about to leave campus.
Mitsuru: Are you tired?
Hibari: …Ahh, you found me out. I really can’t hide anything from you, Mitsuru.
Hibari: Ah, I’m fine! It’s not a big deal or anything. I was just thinking that having a good face and a rich family has its perks, stuff like that.
Hibari: Ah, setting that aside, keep up the good work.
Mitsuru: Yeah, talk to you later.
Hibari: Later.
Mitsuru: Hibari said he’s okay, but… He sounds exhausted. I’ll buy him a vanilla shake later.
Mitsuru: That’s right, I should let Toki know about today too.
Manager: Hey, Mitsuru! It’s about time. Oh, how rare. I thought you’d be napping on the sofa.
Mitsuru: I had to take a call.
Manager: A call? Ah right, you had plans after this. It was some sort of hobby with the indie band, um…
Mitsuru: Impish Crow.
Manager: That’s right, ImpCrow! Going out of your way to practice together, you’re quite studious.
Mitsuru: I want to play as much as I can. Practice is fun, after all.
Manager: I see, it sounds like you’re making some progress with your live. With your skills, I think it’d be more worth it to work at the studio though.
Mitsuru: If we do a live, guests will come. I don’t know how well tickets are selling compared to other bands though. Manager: It doesn’t bother you? Mitsuru: Hm… I wouldn’t like it if there were zero people who came to listen, but it’s not like that.
Employee: Alright, next! It’s time for the bass.
Manager: Oops, come on, get in there. Make lots of cool sounds! Mitsuru: Yeah.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toki: 40 yen is your change.
Customer: Thank you.
Toki: Thank you very much.
Cafe Manager: Mizukawa-kun, you’re done for the day. Thanks for the hard work.
Toki: Ah, yes! Thank you very much, Manager.
Cafe Manager: Ah, when are you working next? Toki: Ah… Next week on Wednesday, was it? Is something the matter?
Cafe Manager: About that… Recently, it’s been quite busy on Saturdays.
Toki: Ah… This week on Saturday, I should be able to work for about two hours in the afternoon.
Cafe Manager: Really? If you’re able to come, I’ll give you a small bonus!
Toki: Eh, for real? Then, I’ll be here on Saturday.
Cafe Manager: Sorry about this as always… You’d think we’d be able to have better wages with a privately run café like ours, but… You’re really a great help.
Toki: Discussing things like this helps me out a lot too, so please reach out to me again.
Toki: That’s right, I should put Saturday’s shift on my calendar. Let’s see… Hm? A message from Mitsuru?
Toki: Hmm. It looks like everyone will be able to make it today. “Roger that.”
Toki: Ah. Again?
Toki: Hello, Mom? What is it? I told you I wouldn’t be able to go home for a while, I told you that last time. Transportation costs are absurd and besides, I’m really busy with stuff right now. Stuff means stuff, alright? Things like college and work.
Toki: That’s right, the band too. Like I said, the band isn’t like that! We’re not trying to become famous or earn loads of money. Anyways, I won’t be able to show my face at home for a while.
Toki: Geez… Easier said than done, huh…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tsugumi: Then, thanks for the hard work! Toki: Yo, Tsugu. Good work today.
Tsugumi: Eh? No way, it’s Toki!
Toki: What’s that supposed to mean, “no way”?
Tsugumi: Because, what are you doing here?
Toki: This is the road to the station.
Tsugumi: That’s not what I mean. You could’ve waited inside, y’know? Everyone at the store already knows you.
Toki: That’s why I don’t want to. Come on, let’s go.
Tsugumi: Why don’t you want to?
Toki: They’re always staring at me. What did you tell your co-workers about me?
Tsugumi: What’d I tell them? You’re my neighbor and childhood friend, a guitarist in our band since middle school, we moved out together, and your hobbies are doing laundry and ironing clothes.
Toki: Hey wait, did you have to mention that last part?
Tsugumi: Ah,  and also about how you’re super attached to me-
Toki: HEY!
Tsugumi: Just kidding~ I told them you write really cool lyrics too.
Toki: Telling people so casually about people’s old wounds… If you tell anyone about that I’ll really kill you.
Tsugumi: Roger that~ It’s a secret between just you and me, right? Okay okay~
Toki: Geez…
Tsugumi: Ah right, this. Bentos for four, let’s all eat together if we get hungry at the studio later! A job with free food really is the best, right?
Toki: Oh, there’s coffee jelly in there.
Tsugumi: You like that, don’t you? The manager made sure to put that in there~
Toki: As always, older people really like you, huh…
Tsugumi: It’s my virtue!
Toki: Well said. Come on, enough of that, we should walk a little faster. They’ll be mad if we’re late.
Tsugumi: What’s with that, says the person with long legs.
Toki: I don’t-
Tsugumi: Yes you do!
Toki: Seriously, I really don’t.
Tsugumi: You’re so irritating~

Thoughts on the last two episode of the Gokushufudo live action (and some other bonus general stuff now that I'm done with the show)
It was... A very weird deviation from the original premise and it didn't work too well imo, mostly just because of how out of place it felt. Don't get me wrong, I watched the last one while eating dinner and I literally cried all over my pasta anyway, but like. Even the "reveal" was weak, which is weird because the story is already basically just based around these misunderstanding bait and switches so?? Idk ig they aren't as good at making original ones- point in case being these two episodes which were all just original stories and felt completely wrong for what the show is. Idk, I guess focusing on drama and high emotion stuff just doesn't really work here. The addition of Yukari and Sakai HAVE proven that the people working on this adaptation were capable of making some great unique additions to the original story so. Idk
Anyway the whole show is very different in one crucial detail: people here seem actually aware of Tatsu's past as compared to the anime where everyone is mostly just scared of his vibe. It isn't like, a good or bad thing, it just ended up really changing some of the dynamics, which I guess is kind of necessary here with a more permanent recurring cast than just... A bunch of random animated characters that can be voiced by whoever. I really liked Tanaka for example! In the anime Tatsu has like, a whole bunch of different housewife friends and I really liked that here there's just the one badass and her slightly more timid friend- which?? I feel like it didn't start off as Tanaka and this one particular friend but they narrowed it down to mostly the two of them, which works, they're both cool and it was nice seeing her attitude towards Tatsu change
Tbh the Masa abuse really fucking got on my nerves, it's funny at the start but like. It genuinely got excessive and uncomfortable, I just... Don't even really like Eguchi and Hibari as much at this point and it's a lot to do with their attitude towards him, it was wholly unnecessary and they both obviously had other things going on so I don't know why they decided that focusing on a "yes honey" dynamic was the comedic direction that they're gonna focus on. They're honestly a disaster couple lol
There was a lot of focus on getting Tatsu back to the Yakuza which?? Feels super weird to me considering they've established it's been two years since he left, why now? Why are they all still bothering him? It was strange and the show was definitely at its best whenever they weren't focusing on the Yakuza stuff- since that's literally what the OG premise is, and why it's so beloved... Idk it really felt at times like it's trying to tell the story of Tatsu's life shortly after leaving but. It's been two years, and it just doesn't work. Same with the Himawari drama, it was all obviously forced and a bit out of nowhere (also wtf I hated seeing him hit her) and idk not that fun to watch when compared to them just riffing on Tatsu being weird yet ultimately accepted, y'know?
Anyway, despite all of my gripes here, this was genuinely a great adaption overall!! I just... Think the ending was really weak and weirdly completely out of tune compared to the rest of it so. I'm glad it isn't the end and that there's a special and a movie!
