He is very respectful, calls your parents ma'am and sir at first

I imagine you would have met in a very meet-cute kinda way, like bumping into each other or him helping you carry something if he saw you struggling

He likes to call you before you go to bed, if your in different time zones he sets an alarm to remind himself

Protective and not afraid of confrontation

He wouldn't be the type to start immediately throwing punches to defend you, but he would definitely strongly imply that's what he was going to do if the other doesn't back off

He would be so supportive

I see him as the kind of boyfriend to encourage you to chase opportunities

According to a cutscene in one of the games, he says he has "been on assignment all his life"

I interpret this as being like he has no one to go on leave for so he rarely does

But he finds himself actually wanting to take leave to see you and it kinda scares him at first

Likes when you trace your fingers on his tattoos

He is able to brush off the trauma attached to his work easily

Like Ghost, he wants to keep you away from it

Would probably propose quickly

Sometimes, he gets nightmares and has trouble sleeping because he still thinks he is on the battlefield

So, I imagine you would need to hold him and pet his hair until he relaxes enough to go to sleep

He likes being the little spoon, argue with the wall

I can imagine one of his favorite things to do when he can't fall asleep is to gentle sway to some soft music in the middle of the night

Overall, this would be a very soft relationship

There's no competition, I love the new one SO MUCH.

Trying to make them all look different while still having that Link flare is a challenge but fun.

His pink hair is such an improvement over the bright red that blended WAAAY to much into his hat.

Trying to draw his eyes more similar to how Akira does as well.

I made him slightly paler and Blue slightly less pale to give them some skin variation.

Red's hair and skin were blending too much imo before I made him paler. Working with various shades of red and pinks is so hard agh.

Gave him a more cherry red tunic too + a red for his belt and hat rim.

I'm taking this as an opportunity to talk about things I love about drawing/designing them.

Blue's super long side burns are a favorite design choice tho. XDDDD

Blue also has a more unique nose shape being inspired by the noses in Soul Eater.

Him having no tights I think shows his wreck-less nature. XD

Thicc eyebrows are visually tasty and don't let anyone say otherwise-

Vio's face + hair is a favorite of mine. He has such a draw-able face.

Him wearing twilight princess Link's outfit is very fitting for him I think.

Him always having his sword visible is annoying to draw but also shows he perpetually has it there is kinda off-putting.

It's also SUCH a stark contrast when in the head space he has no armor and is in way less clothes. I wouldn't call them "revealing" because they're not, but they are compared to his 100% head to toe covered look in the real world. No armor, no long sleeve shirt no long tights. Just a baggy t shirt and shorts lol.

His tunic having a chainmail layer underneath is fun, Vio is the most armored up Link out of the four atm with his arm guards PLUS chainmail.

Vaati is literally color-picked from minish cap and his design is taken right from that too, but playing around with him reverting back to Wind demon mode is super fun art wise.

His colored Akira art is so desaturated agh. XD

I'd love to give Vaati a new outfit at some point tho.

Dark's blank slate design is a favorite of mine. He's so dang cute but I'm very excited to draw him in new things when he gets a new outfit. I think atm tho it draws attention to his creepy chest eyeball, changing hair and his expressions more since his outfit IS so bland.

I just love Link. He is so precious to me. Trying to work in all the colors from the four of them was a challenge but also really satisfying in the final design I think.

I just love how Green is tiered and his hair is similar to Link's but with a cap on. Also he makes me like the color green I typically don't like working with green. XDDDD

His hair is a MESS and inspired by Oracle of ages manga Link's hair. Specifically how it tilts down instead of sticking upward like in FS.

Him wearing Ocarina of Time Link's outfit is fun but I think it works better on Shadow. XDDDD

I'm really happy people liked Gannondorf because I struggled hah. My art style is more simple than Akira's but I'm glad I could capture the essence of Gannondorf. UwU

Like, he was mostly inspired by Twilight Princess Gannon with Wind Waker and Ocarina Gannon flare.

Ngl I love how OOT Link's outfit looks on Shadow Link. He looks so edgy.

The hot topic boots and different toned brown for his chest belt and actual belt are just the cherry on top. XD

I try to keep his hair in line with how it's drawn in FS because it gives him a unique silhouette when he's a shadow.

Though I'd love to design him more Gannondorf inspired attire like his desert cloak.

His TP manga Midna inspired look was mostly due to me wanting to find a way to show his expressions while ALSO showing he is an entirely black shadow.

Anyways yeah, FSR is very fun to work on visually XD

so this is a big, long rant about sexism in the idv community bc it's been on my mind lately and i need to put it out there. this is what i've observed after almost four years in the fandom and been stewing on for a long-ass time. if you don't feel like reading an essay on how annoyed some random enby on the internet is, then don't click the read more and just keep scrolling. don't interact with this post if all you're gonna do is get mad; i'm not here to piss anyone off, just make observations. and if this isn't your experience, good for you and please direct me to whatever circles you run in because i need to be there.

so, i've noticed that the idv fandom is extremely shit when it comes to how they treat female characters, and nobody really.. talks about it?? the only person i've ever seen actually discuss it used it as a way to drum up sympathy for ada. which, if you know me, you know really fucking pisses me off. because there are SO MANY OTHER EXAMPLES of sexism in this community, but no, clearly because we have sympathy for a male victim of abuse we're being sexist towards his abuser.

the thing is. there is so much to point to when you talk about how the fandom is sexist. it's very common to see female characters boiled down to just a couple traits. mary?? hot mommy step on me. michiko?? soft and gentle and demure (don't think i won't notice the weird shit about how that's a very common stereotype of asian women btw i see it). demi?? hot and drinks a lot. emma and lily are "uwu mentally ill babies". annie is soft. emily is either an irredeemable monster or a bitch, depending on who you're talking to. patricia is scary and mean. sangria's a girlboss, grace is soft and gentle, martha is spunky. and if you ask anyone their thoughts / ideas on these characters beyond those short descriptors you get nothing. i'm starting to fucking hate the word "girlboss" because it's all anyone says in response to like half these characters.

male characters are given alllllll the nuance in the world you can't talk to an aesop fan without them going into their endless headcanons / theories on why he's the way he is or how he's not actually that bad of a person or how cute he is or whatever. look at norton, or eli, or orpheus, or luca, or edgar, or joseph, or ithaqua, or any characters in that vein, and look at how the fandom treats them. look at the endless fanfictions and character studies and ships and x readers and headcanons. and then look at what female characters get. nowhere near that much.

i feel like margaretha and emily are the ones who suffer the most from this male-centric view by the fandom. they're characters who are inherently intricate, whose actions can't be explained away as entirely good or entirely bad. but that doesn't stop people from actively trying. they're going to act like margaretha wasn't being horrifically mistreated by her husband and just decided to burn down the circus for funsies or whatever. they're going to act like emily isn't trying so fucking hard to help emma and repent for what she's done. neither of them are meant to be read as black-and-white, but people will try because if they have to use more than two braincells on a female character they're going to implode.

meanwhile you get paragraph after paragraph about the intricacies of the argument between luca and alva. you get so many people analysing the relationship between norton and orpheus and how they're both kinda dicks but also both kinda have points. you get endless people defending joseph's actions bc his brother's dead and he's terrified of growing old / forgetting the people he loved / dying. you get so many fucking stories about how y'know, edgar's not that bad actually.

AND I'M NOT AGAINST ANALYSING THESE CHARACTERS!!! idv, especially in recent years, has been doing some great things with character writing. like, fuck 'em, they've got their issues, but they're still really good with some stuff and deserve credit. but don't act like it's not obvious how so many people have overlooked women (and poc, don't think i've noticed people ignoring the intricacies behind william and ganji as characters as well in favour of "himbo" and "bastard who cares", but i'm white so that's not exactly my place to talk) in favour of their favourite skinny whiteboy of the week.

they're that way with older-looking characters, too. if an idv guy has facial hair, you bet your ass he's also getting boiled down to his base traits. jose's an alcoholic, kevin is self-sacrificing and likes women, kurt is a little guy, kreacher is Awful, charles basically doesn't fucking exist anymore. but again not the focus of the talk atm.

it's just. so upsetting. esp. since most of my favourite idv characters are women but everyone i talk to about them is like "oh yeah demi's hot" or "aww annie's such a nervous little baby" or "god patricia's such a cool girlboss". and even when the shit they say is positive in a vacuum it still makes me so upset bc THAT'S NOT ALL THEY ARE!! demi is kind and loving and hardworking in the face of a world that only ever hurt her. annie's life has been an endless stream of pain and heartbreak and the only thing she really wants is freedom. patricia is literally cursed and is trying to find her place in the world.

also. i fucking hate ada but she falls victim to this too. as much as i despise the "you dislike her just bc you're sexist" thing and as horribly uncomfortable as she makes me, don't act like you haven't seen how her entire character is boiled down to how much she "loves" this man. don't act like you haven't seen how her entire character, all of her promise and potential, is forgotten in favour of that fucking trainwreck of a relationship. i bet half the fandom can't tell me anything about her other than her relationship with emil. emil suffers from this too, with his backstory and personality and life of abuse becoming an afterthought, but again, not what we're focusing on.

this is not an isolated thing or confined solely to the idv fandom. this happens in fandoms everywhere. but because idv is so close to my heart i feel like i really need to talk about it. there's so little content of female characters when there's fucking daily content of male ones. and don't get me wrong, i do like male characters. norton is literally one of my favourite fictional characters and i love talking about / analysing him. but i can guarantee a lot of people wouldn't be so interested in him if he was a woman.

sorry, just needed to get that off my chest. mandatory "this doesn't apply to everyone in the fandom" and "if this doesn't apply to you then i'm not fucking talking about you". we were so against the ashley wood collaboration bc of how much he sexualised michiko (and women in general) but like. do y'all really care that much?? bc i really don't think you do.

I'm back on my bullshit again~! A more proper view of Hunter!Tahir (where he's not suffering my memes for once) as I imagined him while I played through The Northern Passage IF demo @northern-passage And small scenes and interactions with the characters: Lea Chen, Merry Harlowe, Clementine and Noel Lykaon

Special appearances by Dot (the horse), a badly carved turtle, a little lucky bell and the Rot (and Tahir at the end of the demo)

Fangirlish rambling under the cut! It long

This honestly largely took this long cuz I could *not* figure out which scene I wanted to use for Noel! Xe has a ton of really great scenes but in most the Hunter wears their cloak (as per usual) and I really wanted one where that doesn't happen. Cuz, for Tahir, Noel is one of the people he's the most comfortable just being himself around rather than a hunter, cuz xe is hunter too but kind and he makes it easier. And since Tahir is an idiot who didn't even care to check for the wraith before going for Clem, he's kinda unconscious when they first meet!

So I ended up picking the scene in front of the door after the Hunter accidentally-on-purpose opens the Vel, where, to hide xirs fear and concern ('m guessing), Noel makes a joke that actually has the Hunter laughing. A short moment of almost normalcy surrounded by something that, of the group, only the two fully share.

Meanwhile Lea (he/him from a d3 toss) gets to be a gremlin! It was honestly a cute and really natural scene that I'd been itching to doodle for a bit so here it is! (Tahir's horse is called Dot cuz she has a dot in the centre of her forehead. She's a lusitano uwu I'm dating a horseboy, I gotta respect the horse) Tahir's favourite (non alcoholic) drink is actually coffee so Lea won himself some extra points right there! That he immediately lost for laughing at Tahir's suffering >:'(

Merry gets the scene with the little carved turtle cuz my thoughts were pretty much the same as Tahir's when I read the scene. It was really cute! It felt like seeing Merry rather than the pirate captain who is trying to protect her town, almost vulnerable and caring for just a little trinket that matters to her. Basically, Merry cute, cute Merry cute, I draw

Clem gets to tell a story! A story that, I'm sure, isn't going to be deeply meaningful nor anything. This is also a moment where Clem reaches out to the Hunter with an offer to protect them so I really wanted to include it. Despite how scared they seem, they still offer to come to the Hunter if he calls, and, ye, wanted to draw that!

And Tahir! As the Hunter. Tahir has brown eyes in the narration but he normally has amber ones, so I kept here even if it's hard to see ':D

Alcohol for his poison of choice. Favourite magic is sword. Touch starved as much as touch averse, no, he doesn't get it either.

He promised Jorah and he means to keep that promise, but gods if he’s not tired…

Very protective of his people: Noel, Lea and his dads mentors in particular, but Merry and Clem too (and whoever might need protection but these people most of all atm). In part thanks to that promise, and how it does help remind him to not hate others for… well, most of what being a hunter means, but it has led to him internalising a lot of that anger into a lack of care for his own safety that then leads to him being almost self-sacrificing when others are in danger. It’s fine tho! He’s fine!

He’s always fine, he has to be.

I haven’t figured out yet which romance path he’s gonna go for yet! Merry cute, Lea is delightful drama, and Noel is an absolute darling (sorry, Clem, you're not an option for Tahir, but at least that means less angst in your life??) so I am dying here!!

At this point in the demo Tahir’s managed to fight with Lea, but still agreed to talk, and lit his pipe (delicious scene btw, 5 stars~), was not kicked out of Merry’s ship cuz he kept away from the books but did get kicked out of her office when he went there to talk (yes, it hurt. A lot. He felt like such an idiot), been flustered by Noel and had a surprisingly not terrible conversation with him before they went to the isolation district, and made a blood pact with Clem, that came back to bite him in the ass (but also not really cuz wow! Keres hurts), he wants to have a little chat, Clem…!

He also got punched with the butt of a knife in the face by Duncan but paid him back in the final-current-demo-fight >:) (Duncan is awful in the absolutely best way possible! Had a lot of fun in his scenes and really enjoying hating the guy)

Really excited to get to find out what the hell Jorah is doing there, and working with/for Keres and Duncan?? In future chapters. (Also, Tahir would like to know where's Rodrick?? Where's dad, dad??) Also to find out more about the Hunter’s new “little” tagalong (aka, the Firstborn, I'm still going all in it's them!). Tahir actually doesn’t hate them, since they’ve only hurt him (as far as he knows) and not his people so there’s a good chance they’ll maybe be actually able to talk??

Listen, you don’t usually go to (very) large crowd events but exam month just ended you’ll honestly go insane if you see your exam note files and the four wall in your room rn(&the library). Luckily, The Korea University vs Yonsei University Grand Sport Festival! (in short: KoYon Sports Fest) is celebrated after exam period to de-stress students!

KoYon SF is traditionally celebrated every year and is held over two days. The celebratory festival is a friendly sports game between the two “rival” institutions. (mainly in; Football, basketball, ice hockey, rugby, and baseball)

KoYon SF is also known for its HUGE cheer battles too. Each University has its own cheer team and students dress in either blue (Yonsei) or red (Korea) to support their university team.

Anyway, enough of the sports fest description,,,

You, a Yonsei Student just finished your last exam so you decide to join your friend’s plan to attend and watch the sports games.

Fortunately for you, you finished your exam timetable early so you get ready for the events early

Unfortunately for you, your friends haven’t. They don’t finish their last exam until late afternoon so you won’t meet them until then,

That means, y’all miss the Football match…

and you have nothing to do until then… (cricket noise) 🦗🦟🦗🦟

But you’re literally gonna go insane if you stay in your room and see your module exams note pile for another minute.

So you decide to get ready to watch the football match by yourself. Wearing your Blue Yonsei Jersey shirt and a coat over because it’s kinda getting chilly these days (Don’t catch cold guys!) , you send your friends messages to meet you at the later game.

After making your way to the train station, you realise how long and crowded the line is with student attending the same game.😬 So you Uber Share with like 6 other students because why not, you’re an extrovert for the day.

✨ta-da, you actually make it to the arena early. ✨

but you’re still alone….🥲 and hungry,,, so you make your way to the food stall and grab a few quick snacks and drinks.

You see there’s like 10 min before the game starts and you wanna get a good seat so you start making your way inside

It was all good and peaceful until a MF bumps into you at the arena entrance, almost spilling ur drink.

You immediately shoot mean glares at this person, because why on earth are you running??? but you see this brown haired boy already bowing and apologising like 5 times per second - like are you a rapper?

You’re about to walk away when the brown-haired boy straightens up and suddenly he’s all quiet and surprise when your eyes accidentally meet

You’re hella confuse bc do u have something on your face? (Was it the bread u had?😀) or did you know him from somewhere but forgotten him?

So you wait for him to say something or- go away

He doesn’t even look away for a straight minute and it’s getting kinda awkward 😬

Then you hear him say “whoa pretty” under his breath.

now it’s YOUR turn to be surprised because like???

He figures you heard him and this mf blushes??? and starts giggling?? aND THAT DIMPLE PEEKING OUT

By the time it finishes, your friend messages you. They’re done with the exams and are ready to meet you

You say bye to your new friend and Uber to the next destination to meet your friends. You’re still kinda sad about the cute boy but,, whatever.

Y’all have quick food stop first though and you tell your friends about the cute boy from earlier and they tease the hell out of you but you don’t care😎 it’s a win

After, you actually arrive pretty early in the rugby stadium and your friends got a good seat by the front row. (You’re just praying you don’t get hit by the ball or something😐)

Anyway, after few minute the match is about to start so your friend explains you the game while you watch the players quickly warming up and stretching on the field

You’re like half listening half looking around

Suddenly, your eyes zooms in at one particular boy

HOLD ON

IS THAT THE CUTE BOY?

AND HE IS WEARING NUMBER 04 RED KOREAN UNIVERSITY RUGBY UNIFORM……

But like, you’re just gawking at him so when he looks around the crowd, he sees YOU. (again)

and suddenly he smile like (◝ ◡ ◜) !! because it’s you! The cute girl who he bumped into earlier! and you’re in the crowd!!!

but his face fall because,, #realisation moment when he sees you wearing blue😔 ofc you were gonna be there to cheer for your team

Jay sees him be all pouty so he looks around and see you in the crowd and he’s pretty sure you were talking to Jungwon at the football stadium earlier… did- did he ruin something?🥲

Jay notices that you’re wearing blue too so he guesses that’s also a factor to a very pouty leader rn.. so he approach Jungwon to tell him to do his best to impress u today

Jay was right. Jungwon’s goal is now to score a lot (and show off) to impress you and swoon you off your feet😠, not some rando in your uni’s team. ofc he’s gonna be better than your university’s team.

The game starts and its pretty boring ngl. The game and players are also kinda rough so you wish they wouldn’t go near Jungwon. (You finally see cute boy’s name behind his uniform)

You keep your eye on him all the time, screw the game and your team🤭. When his team scores he make sure to look at you and you can hear the wedding bell ring everytime🤭🤭 #delusionalhour

he’s close to scoring? “GO JUNGWON!! GET THAT BREAD!”

you’re pretty sure you’re getting mean glares from some competitive a-hole from your uni behind you but you don’t care, that’s (so-not) your man you’re cheering for.

And he loves it when he hears you cheers his name when he’s running with the ball (totally not running near you whenever he does just to hear it🤭)

He eventually scores a lot to show off,, thanks to you Korean University Wins!!

what inspired your Link’s outfits? I love them!

Thank you! I’m not sure what inspired them but I’ll just talk about them (without pictures cuz I can’t 😔)

Sky: I really loved the green color he had from LU, how everyone had a deeper green shade while he had a lighter, more minty green shade (maybe not minty green but sh), so I went with that color cuz it suited him so well! I also like him having his sash so I keep them. His design sorta changed, I originally had him wearing more baggy clothes, but I added bracers and tightened up his clothes a tad. I also kept his green pants from the beginning of the game cuz I thought that’d look quirky. The biggest things were the sailcloth and loftwing feather. I always vibed with feather earrings, and I wanted the feather to be king, but when I actually drew it, it was a HUGE pain. So I removed it and just put it on his belt. And I put the sailcloth on his belt as well cuz I HATE drawing capes lol. Luckily drawing Sky for a bit made me realize what I liked and disliked about his design so I was able to change some things. I do love the diamond thing on his chest. Admittedly LU inspired the design a lot lol, but in the end I kept some stuff for myself :)

Minish: the Minish clothes inspired his shirt! I found his og shirt very bland so I spiced things up with a leafy shirt and called it a day UwU. I also liked him having a headband with an Ezlo pendant at the end, thought it looked cute! And I think I added some metal toes cuz what if you dropped a hammer on your feet? Anyways, it’s safe to say LU inspired a lot of these designs and I’m not ashamed to admit that (LU did NOT inspire this au tho)

Time: I was actually inspired by bonus Links with their oot Link having a vest. I thought it was a cute and gave my Time a more farm outfit. I made his shirt a more forest green and gave him a weird eyepatch to cover half his face, and then gave him cowboy boots cuz I thought they looked cool. I lvoe his pants cuz he looks like a sexy mom so there’s that lol. Also, about his hair, this is an unpopular opinion but I prefer his short and spiky hair 😔 I’m sorry to the folks who loved the long ponytail. I also added some gloves that I think are strength gloves that aren’t ungraded? Made his outfit more battle ready (in the beginning the Links were in more comfy clothes but I didn’t like that)

Legend: oh boy, he probably has my fav design lol. I sorta added this red sash thing to go against his green shirt and I think it turned out cool! And the red accents look dope as well! Hyrule: I’m not sure how much of Lu inspired my Hyrule, but I always ADORED Lu Hyrule’s floofy hair so I kept that. I kinda like his clothes being baggy and casual, and I made his boots a little scuffed since he travels a lot. Idk what is going on with his design tho. I cant think of anything specific that I did with his design minus the boots and turtle neck (I noticed one of the designs for Zelda 2 had link in a turtle neck and I thought that was perfect for Hyrule). Yeah not many thoughts. Just like the amount of thoughts going through his head

Twi: oh boy, I just gave him a shirt that matched Rusl’s cuz it has a boob window, gave him that dumb arm thing, his ordon sash and obi, and just sorta lightly tweaked his farmer’s outfit. His boots are meant to have goat fur popping out cuz I thought that’d be cool. Plus an ordon goat on his design cuz he likes goats. Not much to say

Four: I looked at all the knights from the FS manga and tried to make him look like that. I always thought his braid and color thing was unique and showed the four colors well. I also made his clothes more white and cream colored cuz I’ve seen four Links as white and then go colorful when they split and I LOVED that. He also gets a cool cape. He sued to have more Arno but I removed it cuz he’s still a kid and I hate drawing Armor.

Windy: oh boy, I had to change his design since I aged him down, but I gave him a sleeveless overcoat since there are a lot of overcoats with pirates. I also gave him a pirate-esque shirt and made his colors more deadpan green which I ADORE. I always liked his gray pants and simple shoes so I kept those!

Spirit: it’s just his engineer outfit, nothing special lol. A boy…

Age: idk how I feel about his design, but I mixed the knight’s outfit with the champion’s tunic with a hint of the zora armor and Mipha’s scale!

Wild: I sorta mixed the Hylian tunic with the champion’s tunic. Again, idk how I feel about it but Wild has his entire wardrobe on him so I can just change his design whenever I want UwU

(Warning: long ask ahead, but I just have so many thoughts on something you mentioned).

I saw your reply from earlier where you gave your opinions on The Book of Bill. Just wanted to let you know you're 100% not alone on the Bill and Ford thoughts. It honestly kinda bothers me too that the fandom is latching onto the "lol uwu toxic old man yaoi" thing. Like there's so much more to the book and Bill and Ford as characters but it feels like a lot of folks read it and mentally threw out everything but shipping bait to obsess over.

It especially feels ick to me because Bill and Ford's relationship - whether people read it as platonic or not - is legit 100% abusive, and it tramples all over the growth Ford's had healing from that. I almost kind of wish the book hadn't made those jokes at all, because when a creator gives a fandom a shipping inch, fandoms take a whole mile with it. No hate to Hirsch for what the fandom is doing; it's not his fault. But it's honestly annoying, just like you said.

on the spectrum of long and short asks, this one barely reaches medium, anon (lighthearted)

but yeah. I really think the parts relating to their abusive dynamic were some of the most realistic portrayals of an abusive relationship we've seen, platonic or otherwise. and that is really special for something I wasn't expecting to go into this much depth with the cruelty and abusiveness of their relationship for. literally a lot of heart dropping moments with bill showing off just how sadistic and cruel he was to ford. emotionally, mentally, and physically.

the ex jokes dropped on bill were laughable and not something to be taken as hard canon proof that they were in a romantic relationship like the fandom is seriously rolling with. like, come on, this is bill's book we're talking about, he's trying to look good for the reader. and making himself seem sympathetic by using that moment in the bar is the way he decided to do that. maybe it really happened like that, and bill was sad about losing ford, but... they're kinda trusting bill's word over ford's here, aren't they?

It's really something that the fandom decided to play up the sad ex narrative to the umpteenth degree and i shouldn't be this surprised that my filters are working overtime right now, but man. I wish the abusive nature of bill wasn't just thrown under the rug in favor of stupid toxic yaoi jokes like you said. I wish ford's status as bill's victim wasn't downplayed over 'oh, he just wanted to fuck the triangle' jokes like no. just... no.

a microcosm of this is that drunk ford moment. a lot of the fandom is seeing it as this cute gay moment or what have you, when it's implied quite heavily that bill coerced/forced ford into getting intoxicated with the very phrase 'i am not much of a drinker' on the page before. and if you're taking that 'one thing led to another' phrase as something a bit more... risque... then, you're potentially looking at sexual assault. that is fucked up to hell and back and i only see a few people talk about it like that. (of course people are free to see this moment however the hell they like, i just... man. I don't know. I really don't know.)

anyway, fandom's gonna fandom. i just really wish it wasn't in my face all the time despite my best efforts to avoid that sort of thing with my filters.

Have you read The Max-Level Player’s 100th Regression? Is it good?

Yes and I'm starting the novel too

So far it is a very typical Regression story except the mc isn't complete jaded and him and his brother are both cute and have a great family bond. MC died 100 times but doesn't act like a complete asshole except to people that deserve it.

They are doing kind of a reverse move with this one tho cuz in most Regression stories the MC is trying to do everything by themselves and eventually defeat everyone on their own but in this story when the MC reached the limit to his Regression he dies due to being alone and needing a party to continue the game so now he has to actually form relationships with people and can't do everything on his own. On top of that he cannot regress anymore.

So the MC is smart and calculating and kinda manipulative cuz he wants specific strong people to become his party members.

The art is amazing tho, very Solo Leveling style and so if anything it is pretty to look at uwu

What is the difference between percico/nicercy? /gen /nf

Well, the glib/short answer would be that it's kinda like in anime/manga fandoms where name-order indicates top/bottom and top/bottom (still) indicates a lot about how the characters are portrait, because tops tend(ed) to be portrait as the ones who got their shit together and could even be cocky about their romantic attraction while the bottom is always the one who blushes a lot, etc.

Back in ye olden days, all the Nico and Percy content was... very exclusively top!Percy/bottom!Nico... and it reflected in the way they were written too.

Percy very often ended up this cock-sure flirt who just knew exactly what he wanted and got it, which... does not align with Percy "I am blushing and stammering as I am alone with my girlfriend at night" Jackson.

And Nico was this blushy "smol bean", which... just does not align with canon!Nico imo, but hey it's still a huge trope about Nico. For being such a badass Ghost King he gets uwufied a lot.

And! That's. Fine. I'm not saying these portrays shouldn't exist or that they're necessarily wrong - OoC behavior is fun too, I know I intentionally leaned too far into the other end in the past myself, and sometimes it's even fun to just go hog-wild off-script. Everyone gets their own headcanons and interpretations and preferences.

It's just not what I vibe with. I always found Percy's canonical cluelessness about romance - with Rachel and with Annabeth alike - as well as how easily flustered he always was - with Annabeth, Rachel and also with Nico, when Nico confessed to him, Percy was flustered. Like, that's one of his canonical behaviors that endeared me to him, so I'm not gonna seek fanon content out that deliberately ignores it.

Meanwhile, Nico had a distant brashness to him. He didn't blush and stammer around Percy, even when he canonically was in love with Percy, he was loud and angry and stubborn. Like, we canonically know how Nico acted around Percy while hiding a secret crush from Percy. Sure, he hid his feelings, but not in the blushy uwu kind of way?

So, that's what Nicercy became, to me, when I started writing it, and how it has been written/interpreted by the majority of writers who've taken to using the ship-name Nicercy and deliberately write Nicercy fics instead of Percico fics.

Top!Nico/bottom!Percy, if you wanna boil it down to its essence. Not just in sex, but also leaning into what those stereotypes usually represented - you'll see a more easily flustered, blushy, cute-acting Percy and not a flustered Nico. And, as I admitted above, I did like to deliberately lean more into the opposite, so a more self-assured Nico, which yeah sure that's not as in line with canon either, but, again, everyone gets their headcanons ;D

i match with you kakyoin noriaki! this sassy, gamer boy bitch. as soon as he heard you like combat/fighter style games, he’s infatuated. you guys could stay up for hourssss playing video games with each other, but he’ll usually fall asleep first. you’ll be playing with him then all of a sudden his character stops fighting back + you turn to see him snoozing on your shoulder. he’s adorable. he absolutely loves to watch you draw + study your artwork. he’s somewhat of an artist himself + a perfect afternoon for him could be just y’all sitting against each other + drawing, stopping occasionally to show each other or ask for each other’s opinions. kakyoin is terrified of getting a tattoo since he has a lower pain tolerance but he’s always wanted one—he’s so jealous that you have so many cool tattoos. maybe one day you can convince him to start out with a small one, but he’ll only agree if you accompany him to hold his hand 🥺

Anyways my shower thought this morning was if I can choose a favorite between Cortex's N. Sane Trilogy design and Crash 4 design and... I can't!! I really can't!! They're very different... flavors of designs for him, like Orange and Cranberry, but I still RLY love both of them 💖💖💖

Like Crash 4 Cortex is very sleek, streamlined, aerodynamic very clean and has a great silhouette. Like they RLY followed the character design rule of "triangles=evil". Another thing I think they got soooo right where a lot of Cortex designs, even ones I like, have failed is that his proportions are PERFECT. Don't get me wrong Twinsanity Cortex is right behind these two designs, maybe even tied, but it always sticks out way too much for me that his hands look way too small. Here tho, he's sooo perfect, he still looks super short (albeit a lil bit taller than the average Cortex design) and has his dumb big head with those skinny lil arms, but his hands are proportioned correctly to be big enough that any animated motion is still incredibly readable. As much as I love it tho, I almost feel like its... too clean?? There's just not too much detail and he looks, dare I say, marketable. Its a very great design but it feels very modernized to the style of cartoons today, with more simplistic looks and rounded corners.

Whereas N. Sane Trilogy Cortex takes what was so good about the original design and gives it a 4K rendition. I won't lie, a complaint I have with the art style in the trilogy is that it seems like some designs went too realistic in the details while forgetting that it's supposed to be a cartoony universe (imo Trilogy N. Gin looks wretched 💀) BUT! I really dont think that was a problem with Cortex! Granted I may be a bit.. biased ☺️💘 But I rly love how they HD-ified his design. He's got the square flat head which is something I kinda miss in Crash 4's design, and he just has this rough around the edges look that serves him very well. The amount of detail is perfect to me and frankly, I don't know how else to say it, makes him hard to look at but in a good way??? Like u see him and ur like oh this guy is awful. More plz 😂💖💖 I've always enjoyed how original Crash designs for every character have always been rough and not conventionally "cute" or aesthetically appealing like other platformer characters, and I think they nailed that design philosophy perfect with Cortex in the Trilogy uwu

rev and caustic r obvious answers so i'll name 3 others. Fuse because he's boring and obnoxious and kinda contributes nothing except being BH's love interest and the reason Maggie joins. like i feel like you could cut Fuse out of apex entirely and with minimal rewrites everything still functions the same. He just feels really irrelevent. tbh i didn't hate him until the past few seaons when Fuse/hound started really ramping up and I couldn't escape seeing him which just made me more annoyed every time I saw him. overexposure ig

hate mirage cuz he hogs so much screentime and has like 3 character traits the writers bring up over and over without doing anything new so people can go AUGGH MIRAGE SADDEST CHARACTER EVER 🥺🥺🥺 and yall somehow fall for it when its the same piece of info literally every time. like how many times do they need to remind you evelyn has dementia. give him a storyline already. "Mirage sad because mom forget" is not a character arc yall have been doing this for like 12 seasons now come up with something new

Wattson. i have written several posts about her so im gonna be short but she's SOOO terribly written and such a shit person which like, i LOVE me some terrible petty bitches like loba. but loba being a terrible petty bitch feels like its on purpose and wattson being a terrible petty bitch is on accident and the writers bend over backwards to make her the cute uwu do no wrong girl all the time and it's SO exhausting like let her have character flaws and maybe have someone acknowledge she's made mistakes???? 😭

i have two: 1. he is kind of jacked under that jacket. he is not a twink. he has muscles. not like fuse or gibraltar, and he doesn't have shredded abs like seer and octane, but he's built after years of working out and when he wears a tight t-shirt, you can See. Percieve Them. and 2. he has ADHD (and a paranoia disorder).

i know the more popular hc for him is autistic which is VALID but i personally read him more as ADHD who developed a paranoia disorder due to his circumstances and both of those things combined are why he's so fidgety and messes around with his jacket and puzzle cube a lot

two (2) romantic situations to report on. first one is a vent and idk i feel like i shouldn't be moaning but in short yesterday as i was getting on the bus this young gentleman was giving me eyes 👁️👁️ and i didnt think much of it and then i got on the bus and saw he was reading a book and i was like cute hello soulmate. later in the journey these 2 annoying HORRIBLE children kept whining that they wanted his specific seat and instead of whooping them the mother loudly was like "dont worry girls, maybe soon some people will realise it's not their turn and they should get off" (god she was absolutely vile). anyway he caved and was like "i'll move :D" but get this he got up and sat right by me. and it wasnt an empty bus or anything but there were plenty of other places and still he chose 💘✨me✨💘. but then he didnt talk to me? but then as he got off he was giving me eyes 👁️👁️ again.

then later i was on An App and guess who pops up??? he asked if i was on a bus from town earlier and i said "uwu ummm maybe >.<" (paraphrasing). but get this he just barrages me with hole and shaft pics. and like this was That App where you shouldnt really expect any better but idkkkkk i feel kinda let down. like that wouldve been a really sweet story if some sort of bond formed. but whatever
