I have been pondering Bad and Cellbit's past for a while and the varied ways in which they both perceive it. Bad's immortality and experience of witnessing traumatic event after traumatic even unfortunately renders him somewhat well-adjusted with these emotions. Not saying he is incapable of experiencing regret. It's just that after everything he has been through, he has had millenniums to sit with not just the consequence but also the effects, the reparations ,the surrounded grief of not just him but also the other mortals that had been affected .
On the other hand, what Cellbit is going through now Bad probably has already been there centuries ago. It's just constant exposure and survival through so many traumatic situations has now made Bad somewhat neutral to them. That's why him losing the eggs is such a big deal because Bad hasn't had familial connections in god knows how long. Maybe apart from Foolish Bad has never had a constant in his life and he had brought himself to be okay with that. But now that he is experiencing such a huge loss he has no clue how to deal with it and that is why he is spiraling.
Cellbit being a mortal provides a lot of reason to the regret regarding his past that he had been feeling. Killing and destruction was the only language he spoke but he learnt to separate that part of himself once Roier and Richarlyson entered his life proving to be his anchor. But now with Richarlyson gone and him being smacked with the revelation of a life he could have had, everything has becoming a confusing mess of what ifs and what could have beens. Hence, it makes sense that Cellbit has regressed to a way of life he holds familiarity with and which provides him the most control he has had in years and its great to know he has a friend a past mentor aiding his steps all along his journey.

Hi hello yes more thoughts about this hgduo pre-canon, hunger games/wars au(??) because my brain is rotating them at incredible speeds. (Obligatory cannibalism tw because yeah the lore do be like that.)
Bad originally finds Cellbit while the kid is trying to use a dagger to carve up a body to eat---key word trying. Bad stands back and watches him struggle for about thirty seconds before speaking up: "You're holding that wrong." (The kid jumps about two feet in the air. "WhhUH---") "Also you're not supposed to carve with a dagger, silly. You should really be using a knife. Here." And Bad passes him one of his hunting knives.
Bad mentally dubs Cellbit "Dagger-Kid" because he doesn't know Cellbit's name. When Cellbit later admits he doesn't know his name either, Bad officially dubs him "Dagger-Kid" or "Dagger" for short. ((For the rest of this I'll be calling Cellbit "Dagger")) ((Also I'm not 100% on this name yet but we'll see.))
I should note that I also think it would be funny that every time Dagger does something notable or reveals a new quality about himself, Bad tries to give him a new name. Like, they scavenge a piece of chocolate off one of their victims and Dagger loves it, so Bad tries to suggest, "Oh oh! What if we called you 'Sweets'! Or 'Chocolate'? 'Coco,' maybe?" all of which Dagger (playfully) rolls his eyes at. Bad rotates through nicknames regularly, but Dagger personally sticks with the first name Bad gave him.
Dagger was on his own for two months before he met Bad. He is injured and half-starved and utterly exhausted. The first time they make camp together, Dagger promises he'll take the first watch, but he nods off before even Bad can fall asleep. It's the first time Dagger has felt safe enough to truly relax, so his body just crashes. He sleeps for twelve hours.
This one's honestly more of a general qsmp headcanon I have but it goes here too: Bad teaches Dagger how to throw knives (for combat) and how to do knife tricks (for fun). Current-day Cellbit still remembers how to do the tricks, and he'll often use them as a way of fidgeting when he's thinking---with a pen or pencil instead, though.
One of Dagger's natural talents is stealth. He's not as quiet as Bad, but he's definitely good at it; his cat-hybrid traits definitely lend him a hand here, too. It's the main way Dagger survived before meeting Bad, stealing supplies out of camps while people were sleeping.
Bad, being a demon, doesn't need to eat, drink, or sleep as much as mortals do, and certainly not as much as a teenage boy. To him, it only seems practical that he gives himself smaller portions of their rations, or takes longer nightwatch shifts. But Dagger (who can scarcely imagine ever being not hungry or not tired, much less at the same time) is still grateful and feels somewhat indebted to Bad, even after Bad explains.
Dagger (a cat hybrid and a little more than a bit messed up) bites to show affection. Usually Bad's arm. Any normal guy would be injured by the force of Dagger's bite---Dagger doesn't really seem to understand that not-biting-hard is an option---but Bad doesn't really mind it.
(The truth is that deep down Dagger really wants to hug Bad, but he knows Bad isn't a very cuddly person, and yeah Bad might give him a hug if he asked but he's too afraid to ask so all that affection stays bottled up until it rises rises rises and he just doesn't know what to do with it anymore and it needs OUT---)
Bad thwacks Dagger upside the head with his tail whenever Dagger is being a "little rapscallion" and eventually Dagger starts retaliating. His tail isn't as long or flexible as Bad's but he definitely does try.
Bad has a lot of stories to tell. Some true, some made up on the fly. He's always liked telling stories, and Dagger is a captive audience. He learns Dagger loves mysteries, and suddenly, all of his campfire stories are about spies, and detectives, and red-string cork boards and espionage.
The thing Dagger fears the most is that one morning he'll wake up and Bad won't be there because Bad decided Dagger slowed him down and thus abandoned him. He thinks about this near-constantly. (The thing Bad fears the most is that one morning he'll wake up and look at Dagger and start caring like he used to a long, long time ago. He does not think about this at all.)

I'm glad Bad brought up the point of Cellbit's killings being very obvious to the point where it would be hard for the Feds not to know it was him.

so I have a fully fleshed out hunger games duo hunger games fic that I really wanted to write but haven’t had the energy or inspiration to in like half a year.
would people still like to see the outlines and what I do have? I know that I still enjoy seeing people’s bullet points and outlines to fics they can’t finish so I was wondering if you all feel the same?
I was inspired by a lovely post from @mishapen-dear 💕

Just had the most insane shounen girlyaoi brain explosion for Younger Texas/Lappland.
You know how Texas is quiet while Lappland is actually personable, outgoing, and charismatic? God, that little detail suggests such a perfect shounen enemy backstory, like some real Jojo’s Part 1 shit.
Like. Okay. Imagine when they were younger and living under the same roof.
Young Lappland is a skilled fighter, ruthless, talkative, swaggering: easily beloved by everyone, surpassing everyone’s expectations. The perfect mafioso, who’s worked so hard to meet the expectations of an heir, grown so well out of the troubled, excessively soft-hearted child she used to be—but there’s some dark, swirling discontent in her, a disgust, unvoiced, vague and violent that she keeps trapped behind her smile.
The fact that nobody else notices it just makes her feel all the more disdain for them.
And then Texas arrives—quiet, unwilling to participate in all the dick-measuring and bluster, uninvested in the Mafia’s idea of itself, uninterested in making connections—but she’s so clearly naturally talented that everyone respects her anyway.
She doesn’t have to do any of the work to make people like her. She doesn’t have to play the perfect gangster. She doesn’t even care. And everyone *still* loves her.
And Lappland just hates her hates her hates her. But she’s also jealous, and she admires her, and she connects with her like she connects with nobody else, and she also learns from her, they fight so well side-by-side, they balance each other’s temperaments, and Texas *sees* her, and Lappland hates her, hates her, loves her.
They have a special connection to one another. They spend a lot of time together.
But there’s a rift there, too. Because Texas, she’s upended Lappland’s life, made herself the center of it, and Lappland kind of resents her for it. But Lappland doesn’t seem to have made any sort of indelible impact on her at all. And she can’t stand it.
And as Lappland’s hatred for Siracusa and what they do and what they are and how they think grows, as she starts to get wilder and more violent and more trapped and hopeless, more bitter, more resentful of the unaffected Texas, her facade starts to crack, and the rifts run between them, pushing them farther apart.
And then Texas leaves.
And Lappland starts to spiral, a little bit. She still performs perfectly, but she’s a bit of a loose cannon. Scary. Not “who she was.” All she can look forward too is the next time she sees Texas again.
And then, years later, Texas abandons her obligation, and Lappland betrays her duty, and she gets her duel.
And Texas wins.
But of course, all it seems to mean to her is that she can leave.
She just looks back once, at Lappland, bleeding on the ground, in the rain, the Texas estate on fire behind her, staring up at her with madness in her eyes, and she turns and walks into the forest.

I think Izzy has the votes to stay against Felicia for now, but if she wins the veto and doesn’t use it I think that’ll cause some hgs to turn against her for being unwilling to save herself

completely random thought but thinkin about like. how interesting it is that what happened to qcellbit in the war and what he was forced to do to survive traumatized him and still clearly upsets him. like we all know that. but given his interactions with bbh he still feels a sense of nostalgia, referring to them as the "good times" and reminiscing n whatnot. and it could all be a result of the headspace he's in rn, perhaps glorifying his childhood as a means of reinforcing his "i have always been this way" mentality to help justify his violence against the fed workers and/or clinging to the "good" moments he had growing up in an awful environment because that peaceful childhood was stolen from him.
anyway all this is to say. what if even back then, in order to cope, cellbit thought about the wars as a game: hunting alongside bbh, strategizing, taking people out, collecting "loot," upgrading their gear. and when they're the last ones standing, they win! just,, interpreting the "games" part of "hunger games" as a young, scared little cellbit subconsciously putting distance between himself and the horrors he experienced/committed on the daily and trying to motivate himself to keep going by making it a "fun game to play." and how that might affect how he thinks of it now. like on one hand he's probably aware that it was a seriously messed up situation to be dropped into as a kid, on the other hand, he can't deny that he was having fun.
also i do believe that even outside this "it's all just a game" mentality, cellbit and bbh had some pleasant moments that cellbit is still clinging to (and perhaps blowing out of proportion; nostalgia and rose-tinted glasses and all that). cellbit goofing around while setting up camp for the night. bbh looting a cool jacket (or perhaps a sick pair of goggles?) off a body and giving them to a delighted cellbit. cellbit trying to teach bbh some portuguese, bbh teaching cellbit new words in english. cellbit, bored, hanging upside down from a tree by his legs while waiting for bbh to finish looking at the map and call their next move. a flawless double takedown where neither of them broke a sweat and bbh greatly praised cellbit's skills and cellbit smiled for the rest of the day. (are you proud of me? are you proud of me?) a tree branch breaking and falling directly in front of cellbit and cellbit screeching and bbh laughing harder than cellbit has ever heard him laugh before, so much so that he forgets his embarrassment and starts laughing too.
just,,, man. what exactly is cellbit referring to when he brings up "the good times" with bbh. it's so fun to think about.

I find it amusing that the fandom became obsessed with Texas and Lappland's dynamic and HG looked at it and went: "Okay. We'll give you what you want but not just that. We'll make Siracusa full of those dynamics."
And now we have at least three duos like that (spoilers):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You like your childhood friends who both despise their country and have opposing beliefs on how to handle it's quagmire?
How about childhood friends who embody the traditional ways and a proposed new and better future for the country, which inherently clash?
How about two members of a found family where one's becoming a tyrant and the other is the sword dangling over her head if she ever does?
(Obviously there's more to say on them, particularly on the emotional side but you know.)
The writers are too focused on Red working on herself to give her someone to clash with in a thematic way. But that's fine, she's going to make up for it with the amount of people she fights.

help i formatted this as a numbered list and it wont let me get rid of the numbers
ask about the rtw AU!!! i have Questions :]
It seems like there’s a more official “hero system”, which HotGuy is a part of (having multiple people working for him who also worked for other heroes). Do you have plans for how that functions? Is CuteGuy an independent entity from that system? If so, why/how?
I’d love to know how some of the characters met, if it isn’t spoilers. Especially when it comes to people knowing secret identities, that’s always fun to learn about.
If you have any fun worldbuilding tidbits, I’m a huge nerd for setting details, especially in superhero aus
Thanks for all the questions! I was super nervous about posting so I'm glad that someone's taken interest in my silly little au. Onto the answers: 1. There is an official branch of the City's government dedicated to the heroes. Whether it be merchandising, medical help, or designing new equipment to test out in the field, it's all done in a building affectionately known as HQ. It's where Scar spends most of his time when he's not at the bakery/out on patrol. Grian likes to think that he's his own vigilante, independent of HQ, but they help him out a lot more than he thinks/knows.
2. Uh I haven't planned that one out too much, but out of the main friend group (Grian, Martyn, Joel, and Mumbo), Joel and Grian have known each other the longest, they met because Joel was dating Lizzie, who was Grian's sister. Also, Martyn knows Grian's identity as Cuteguy because they live together, and he accidentally came across Grian's amulet. (this is covered in this fic) As for Hotguy, the only people who know his identities are Ren and Doc, cause they're the only people that HQ trust not to spill that secret. And Scar met Grian because he was an almost daily customer at the bakery he works at
3. Honestly? Not really. I do wanna add some stuff about the way the hero system works though, simply because. A general rule is that, at any given time, there cannot be more than two heroes who must work together, and there must be one main villain for them to fight against. The only time more than one villain showed up, it caused both heroes to retire within a day. And also that by the beginning of Part 2 (cause its getting sectioned into two fics), there will have been four hero duos, including CG and HG. Don't wanna say who two of them are cause spoilers!! But the first (who were mentioned in the oneshot) were Impulse and Skizz, or Livewire and the Angel respectively. Honestly they're the least significant in the story, but it's just a cool little bit of trivia
