Alright, so, I kind of already word vomited this to @ahhhnorealnamesallowed (Bills, my beloved, thank you for listening) but here we go, a little bit more...fleshed out and coherent. Also, this will probably be a 2025 fic, just cuz I'm trying to finish other fics that I have on my roster. This is also gonna be very long, so it's going under the cut

So, Jiang Yuelou is a hunter. Who doesn't believe in the supernatural. I mean, he does, like the demons and the monsters and what not but what he doesn't believe in...are angels. Doesn't believe them. And why doesn't he believe in them, you ask? Because well, he prayed to the angels and to God whenever things were bad with his parents (yes, I am keeping up with Jiang Yuelou's hella tragic backstory from the drama) and they...did nothing. Didn't answer his prayers, didn't do shit. So he doesn't believe in them. Cuz if they were real, like every other supernatural being on the fucking planet, they would have done something. Would have saved him. But they didn't.

Anyways. So, Jiang Yuelou has a case. Some weird shit is going down in a small town, so he goes to investigate, right? And whatever this big supernatural bad is (please give me an idea, I beg), he tries to take on, but it's strong. A lot fucking stronger than anything he's ever faced. And of course the fucker decides to attack passersby (a kid), when so Jiang Yuelou dives to protect the child and the monster attacks, it's suddenly like...blasted away. Jiang Yuelou turns to see this...strange looking dude in a three-piece cream suit just standing there and then he turns and smiles at them, and the smile is kind. Jiang Yuelou demands to know who he is, and the stranger just smiles and says that he's an angel. At his answer, Jiang Yuelou is fucking livid cuz now an angel steps in to save someone? However, he doesn't say anything and just makes sure that the kid is safe before he starts walking away, the "angel" soon following after him.

They walk in silence (or just walk, idk, we'll see when I start actually writing the damn thing) before Jiang Yuelou demands to know the angel's name, if it even has one, and who's vessel it's using because well...angels have to use people as vessels (if we're going off of supernatural's logic. If we're going off of say...Good Omens, then the body is completely Chen Yuzhi's. I think we're gonna use GO's version). The angel says that he's not using a vessel, it's his own body, and his name is Chen Yuzhi. Jiang Yuelou grumbles, says a very brief "thanks for your help" and then leaves, leaving Chen Yuzhi behind.

Next time there's a case/monster, Jiang Yuelou heads out, only to find Chen Yuzhi already there, a kind/gentle smile on his face and Jiang Yuelou is not happy, cuz he works alone, damn it. And he doesn't need any help. Especially not from some angel. So, he opts to ignore Chen Yuzhi, but Chen Yuzhi is right at his side and surprisingly plays along with all of his disguises and what not. So he lets him stay and assist with his hunt. And the hunt goes surprisingly well, if he does say so himself, and he thanks Chen Yuzhi for the help, which Chen Yuzhi replies that he was happy to be of assistance.

Later, when they go to dinner (Jiang Yuelou does ask if Chen Yuzhi can eat, which he does), they like overhear some people talking about angels and how to find them and the signs of what to look for and Jiang Yuelou, being curious, is like "why are you asking/talking about that?" and the person replies that people have been looking for angels for ages for their feathers and their grace and what not for "religious" (aka cult) purposes and like how to "kill" the angel to get those different things and Chen Yuzhi is sitting there listening and he's getting angry and the power starts to surge and the ground begins to shake and starts drawing attention to himself, so Jiang Yuelou quickly pays before grabbing him and dragging him out so that no one can ask any questions about himself.

As they're driving, Jiang Yuelou demands to know what the hell that was back there and Chen Yuzhi is quiet before he explains that angels have been going missing and now he knows why and he's both furious and hurt. Jiang Yuelou is quiet before he says he's sorry, he knows what it's like to lose people. Chen Yuzhi looks at him curiously and waits but Jiang Yuelou doesn't say anything and just stares ahead before he clears his throat and says that they should probably get out of town so that people don't start asking questions. They then go to find a hotel to get some rest. While they're laying in bed (separate beds mind you), Jiang Yuelou asks if Chen Yuzhi is sleeping and when he replies that he's not, Jiang Yuelou sighs and asks if he can trust him, which he replies that he can. Silence then follows before Jiang Yuelou explains his disbelief of angels/higher beings and his backstory with his parents (yes just like the drama). By the time he finishes his story, he's in tears and the room is silent before Chen Yuzhi slips out of bed and walks over to him and thanks him for telling him and for trusting him.

After that, Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi travel searching for more cases and when they find one, they go to investigate only to get kidnapped by weirdos who are obsessed with everything angel. There's someone among them who can sense angels/heavenly beings and they realize that Chen Yuzhi is one of them and they are elated. Jiang Yuelou, of course, starts throwing a fit and tells them to fuck off and leave Chen Yuzhi alone, but the people sock him in the face and basically just starting whaling on him. Chen Yuzhi, of course, fights them as well, but then they start torturing him, you know, stabbing him to get his grace, etc.

As he listens to Chen Yuzhi's screams, Jiang Yuelou can't take it, and he fights and fights, finally breaking free before he practically goes apeshit on the people who have kidnapped them. He either kills or knocks them out before he rushes over to Chen Yuzhi and frees him, just as one of the kidnappers who he knocked unconscious wakes up and grabs him before he starts whaling on him, again, before finally stabbing him. As he cries out, a shot rings out before the kidnapper drops dead, making Jiang Yuelou look up to see Chen Yuzhi holding a sawed off shot gun, dishevled, panting and bloody, and he's probably the most gorgeous thing Jiang Yuelou has ever seen before he passes out from the stab wound.

As he faints, Chen Yuzhi drops the gun, runs over to him, and does his best to try and heal him with his grace but he's so weak that it's not working so he prays and pleads to his father and the others to help him, to save him, and God (who like in my other demon x angel fic, is Bai Jinbo) comes down to assist. Jiang Yuelou is healed, so is Chen Yuzhi, happy endings for all, may or may not be a kiss in there somewhere, and then Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi become a hunting duo, and are something close to the Boogeymen for the supernatural beings.

Wow this was a lot longer than what I had told Billie earlier but like I said, this is more fleshed out and oh fuck this fic is gonna be good

UNTIL. one day she ends up getting killed by a wolf hunter while she’s in her wolf form. donella sees it happen and has to go tell quirin. oof ouch. then she moves faaaaar away to try and move on. varian ends up not being a wolfwalker and quirin is like oh thank god. but lol sorry man that wont last long. and then the events of tts happen as normal varian commits crimes and goes to jail quirin gets amberified etc. then post tts varian is struggling to fit in and move on cuz he’s got no friends his age and most people in town don’t like him bc of his history and he just feels very lonely and like he doesn’t belong anywhere. and one day he’s just kinda hanging out in the woods outside old corona and he stumbles across a wolf. the wolf is hugo ofc. hugo backstory in a moment. so hugo sees him and assumes oh shit human in the woods he’s gotta be a hunter so he instinctively attacks him and bites him on the arm, before quickly realizes wait nvm this person has no weapons and obviously wasnt expecting 2 see me so he jumps off him and runs away. but too late varian has already been bitten. so he starts doing wolfwalkery shit and is freaking out and trying to figure out what’s going on while keeping is a secret from his dad. meanwhile donella finds out what hugo did and basically tells him to get lost bc he’s too irresponsible and put them both at risk by changing someone who was supposed to be uninvolved in this. and for reference hugo got changed into a wolfwalker by donella when he was a kid bc she figured it would make him a more effective spy/conman. now he can kill people as a person or as a wolf haha 2in1 bonus. so anyway hugo goes back and finds varian and meets him while in human form and tries to be like heyyyy hi i have absolutely no ulterior motives for talking to you. btw have you been having any weird dreams lately. and they sort of hate each other for awhile bc hugo blames varian for being the reason donella kicked him to the curb and varian is mad at hugo for biting him. and wait you know what would be funny what if donella wants to kill varian bc she sees him as a liability and what if she says hey hugo u can redeem urself if you kill him for me bc i know he trusts u and then uh oh choice time. meanwhile both varian and hugo and constantly trying to not get murdered by wolf hunters (quirin probably for extra angst) (maybe idk cass or eugene too even more angst) (this is excessively long) (have a good day)

YES, I HAVE LOTS!! I'll...try not to throw too many at you, haha.

i walk as if i were another by izabellwit (@izabellwit) and fae blood out in the waters (cats creeping around the corners) by hallowed_nebulae (@hallowed-nebulae) are both Playernort fics, but even if they don't align with canon anymore, they're both still really, really good. (The first focuses on Xehanort meeting Ephemer's ghost and learning a little more about the Player; the second is a fun AU where Xehanort is (maybe) a fae. Both are a lot of fun, and I'd highly recommend them!)

Re:Wind by hanyounomiko and Lea is an interesting Dark Road AU where Sora and Riku are transported back in time and try and change fate--specifically, the outcome of Dark Road.

For more canon-compliant stuff, there's No Vacancy and Nobody's Home by rosie_kairi (@rosie-kairi), which is about Luxu possessing Bragi and the aftermath. For something on the fluffier side, there's A Real Winter by Miss_TC_Nova (@miss-tc-nova), which is just a very sweet fic of Xehanort and the other DR cast bonding.

mistletoe oozes out poison by Beastrage (@beastenraged) is technically a post Dark Road fic, but it focuses a lot on Baldr (the basics is that he wakes up as a Nobody and joins the Oragnization). The writing is also phenomenal, so I'd definitely recommend checking it out. (I'd honestly recommend the entire Moon Out Of Phase verse, even if most of it isn't Dark Road related. It's based around Isa going back to the past and trying to fix his mistakes, and it's SO good.)

And these ones I'm guessing you're probably familiar with (hence why I saved them for last, haha), but I still have to mention them because they're very good: Singularity by Elrena (timeloop fic with Xehanort trying to change the events of Dark Road) and...well, many fics by Starlight_Wayfinder (@starlightwayfinder), but Long Live the Princess (a look at Hoder and the Upperclassmen's last mission from Hoder's POV) is the specific one I'll put here, haha.

And that's a start, at least! I definitely have more, but uh...I'm trying to keep this from getting too long, haha.

Ok, so most of my headcanons were kinda just absorbed from other people, but I do have a few of my own.

Mario:

- He's the guy that gets everyone to try new things. Sports, the Olympic games, the medical field... you name it, and he's probably dragged Luigi and/or anyone who would listen into it.

- When he's not busy saving the world he is a massive goofball and jumps between lots of hobbies.

- He's a movie nerd (wears a lot of 80-90s movie t-shirts) and once tried to get into filmmaking

Luigi:

- He wears his candy cane socks and a turtleneck shirt in every version of his design

- I reblogged a post about it the other day, but ENGINEER LUIGI ENGINEER LUIGI

- He LOVES reading, and in Mario Galaxy spent most of a lot of time exploring the library

(he also writes a bit but isn't very open to sharing)

- He was definitely called a nerd in middle/high school

Peach:

- Despite her looks, she is, if not more adventurous than Mario

- the two are made for each other and make a good team in pretty much anything

- I imagine her treating Daisy a like a cool little sister

Daisy:

- Oh yeah, and about her, she definitely wears tennis shoes under her dress

- I know they're two separate kingdoms, but I think of Toastarena as part of Sarasaland

-Also, I have no idea why, but I have always seen her as Hispanic

Rosalina:

- As evidenced by the Odyessy concept art, she plays the guitar. She plays for the lumas a lot :)

- She doesn't really talk much

Bowser:

-Kamek is his father figure, not just an advisor (I am still a bit salty over how they wrote him in the movie...)

- The Bowser's Inside Story version of him is my definitive version of him. He's such a overconfident doofus in that game I love it

-The Koopalings are his adopted kids and he loves them very much (no amount of retconning will change that for me)

- As seen in the movie, the guy is surprisingly musical. I like to think the castle track music in the mario kart games is composed by him.

- He also teaches his kids to play instuments! (I'll make a separate post for that. This is getting a bit long, haha)

So yeah, these are most of my headcanons for main characters.

I'll at least say that i had shoulder length wavy/curly hair, wore round black sunglasses, a red baseball tee, and typically black pants although i do remember wearing a long skirt sometimes. also a pair of worn out red sneaks. my guardian was bro strider (aka jake strider). i was a witch of time. my symbol might have been a cassette tape.

JOHN HARLEY - i'm looking for any of the beta kids (rose strider, dave lalonde, and /or jade egbert)! i don't remember a heavy chunk of stuff other than what swaps the humans were and bits and pieces of our session and prior to it. i had messily cut shoulder length hair, wore square glasses, and freckles. i tended wore sweaters despite it often being humid although id occasionally decide to wear a tee. i had a pair of cargo shorts and black gym shoes, although i did sometimes wear a long skirt instead. i made lots of bracelets and other jewelry with beads and rubber bands. we started our sessions when we were older, so we were like? 15? or 16. i lived on an island with my dad. i was a heir of space. my symbol was similar to this: 🌱 and also i may have had a crush on dave, haha...

MEULIN MAKARA (kurlozways) - looking for: porrim megido, kankri maryam, kurloz leijon, damara zahhak, mituna ampora, and horuss peixes. i know it's a bit of a list, but i remember you guys the most. i had black, curly and poofy hair that often got tangled in stuff. my skin was a dark grey and i had sharp, pointy horns. i was kind of lanky and tall. i often wore a purple vest with my symbol, a collared black t-shirt, and loose black pants w/ black boots. oh, and fingerless skeleton gloves. i also had a nostril piercing on my left side. i had tiger-themed facepaint but i didnt always wear it. i hung out with ampora and peixes a lot. had a flushed crush on porrim and i think i was moirails with kankri. probably was a prince of heart. my symbol was leo.

DIRK LALONDE (ROXYWAYS) - looking for any of the alpha kids (jane english, roxy strider, and/or jake crocker). my memories are also a bit dense here too. i had light blond hair, a couple of beauty marks, eyebrow slit and piercing, and my ears were pierced. i often wore this one short-sleeve sweater with a black tank underneath and some black cargo pants w/ white shoes. i programmed stuff and dabbled in robotics like once. i was a prince of void. my symbol was a cat similar to canon roxy's i'm pretty sure. i definitely had a crush on jake crocker. it was…pretty bad.

That other Drayton gave me the nickname Pepperbreeze as a way to be specific when talking about Crispins from other universes. He also calls me Pepperdeer sometimes if he wants something shorter to type, haha.

Um. I'm basically a plant! I mutated this way during the apocalypse. It's risky to do much cooking now but I do it anyway! I'm covered in spicy and made of spicy. I've got capsaicin like spicy plants do. Don't come near me (physically) if you have allergies to that I guess??
