the secret of us, chapter three.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
charles was just about to to drive out the paddock when he heard his phone ring echo through the car. once he saw lewis's name appear up on the dashboard he hesistated to answer. sure him and lewis were friendly but they would never call one another.
pressing the button on his steering wheel, charles answers the call.
"hey lewis what's up?? is everything okay?" charles asks, a sense of urgency hidden in his tone.
lewis takes a breath before speaking. he didn't know how he was going to break the news to charles, in knowing that you two are so close.
"no actually um it's about y/n" he admits.
charles tuts once he hears that, a presumption entering his mind.
"i told u to stay away from her man god what did u do now?"
"i didn't do anything to her, it was her ex"
"did you just say her ex?!"
"yes"
"fuck is she okay"
"yeah i think so, i beat the shit out of that bastard and he ran off thank god but she seemed pretty shaken up"
"oh shit god i knew something was up why tf did i leave her alone"
"hey hey its not your fault all that matter is that shes okay"
"ik ik.....wait is she with you right now"
"no she drove off, and she got acc rly pissed at me"
charles shakes his head. "she always does this, whenever someone wants to get close to her and actually wants to help her she just pushes them away"
"can you please check on her, i just want to make sure she's okay"
at lewis's words charles smiles. he can tell that lewis actually does care about your wellbeing and is being sincere.
"i will ofc"
"thanks, okay bye then"
"wait lewis"
"yeah??"
"thank you for taking care of her"
"it was no problem"
"okay bye mate"
"yeah bye"
with that lewis hangs up the phone, now feeling much more relaxed after having had that conversation. but there still in the back of his mind lingered your scared expression and the way the tears slid down your cheeks and glistened in the moonlight. in that moment lewis had never felt more heartache over something he couldn't control. it was strange because he barely knew you, but that didn't matter, he cared about you and
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
the hustle of the paddock was exactly what you needed now. the sound of engines revving and the screeching of tires distracted your thoughts from reverting back to last night. you couldn't stop picturing his face once he saw you, it was one of concern and caring
ian had been sending you threats for the past month but you had tried to convince yourself that they were empty ones. your phone beeps as you make your way through the paddock to the media pen. there are multiple missed calls from charles and multiple text messages. you scan the it briefly only to find that lewis had confided in him. you sigh before texting charles back. you sent him a quick message confirming that you were okay and at the circuit but you didn't really want to talk about it, you just wanted to forget.
as you were strolling along, your eyes peeled to the contents on your phone you feel someone tap your shoulder. this frightens you so you jump in fear, because this interaction was displayed last night to you.
"hey hey it's me it's me" the voice eases comfortingly.
you sigh once you see it's george standing in front of you. you smile at him.
"are you okay?" he asked a bit confused by your reaction.
you nod in response to his question. "yeah no im fine, i was just so engrossed in my phone that i forgot everything around me.
george squints at you still unsure if you were telling the truth or not because all those times throughout your relationship with ian you had never come to him and told him the truth. he had to find out himself.
"hey why don't you hang out in the garage today?"
"i was actually just going to watch from hospitality"
your main concern was seeing him, so heading to hospitality seemed like the best option and you would do anything to avoid any possible interaction between the pair of you.
"but you enjoyed it so much last time.....and nobody even noticed you"
thinking back to last weekend brought a smile to your face and watching your brother looking at you pleadingly led you to take him him up on his request.
"okay fineeee"
"yayyy" george enunciates happily and pulls you in for a side hug. with george putting it on pole for this race you looked up at him with triumph. everyday you were proud of him and nothing would change that. you were lucky to call him your brother.
the sun had just begun to set and the grandstands had to begun to fill, and with that you and george headed over to the mercedes garage.
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
it was nerve wracking entering the mercedes garage because it wasn't a matter of if you would see him but when.
george handed you a headset before departing to get set up for the race. you watched as he walked away but then your eyes averted to the other side of the garage. lewis was zipping up his suit and placing his earpieces in his ears, his surroundings unbeknownst to him. when he looked up he met eye contact with you, and almost immediately smiles and sends a subtle wave your way. the small gesture warmed your cheeks and you reciprocated it with a shy wave. you watched as he chuckled to himself before hopping into the car.
the two cars exited the garage and lined up on the grid and before you knew it the countdown had begun. the lights went out and the cars leapt off the line. you held your breath as they made there way past the first corner, but you let out a sigh of relief once you saw that george still maintained the lead and unscathed.
the team clapped at this and you also. your eyes stook to george timings but you couldn't help yourself but to take notice to lewis's race. lewis had gone for an overtake on charles leclerc and for a split second it seemed as though they would make contact. your heart was beating rapidly and you bit hard on your fingernails. it wasn't long before lewis had made the maneuver and the garage cheered.
a short while later the pair came in for their pit stop and exited the pit lane to find george still holding onto the lead with max verstappen close behind and then followed by lewis. over the radio george's engineer informs him that there are five laps to go but that max verstappen was now looming closer and gaining on him. it seemed that george's tires were graining alot and mac would have the advantage here of pitting later.
on the last lap the whole mercedes garage was sat on the edge of their seats, unsure if george could keep max behind him. george was now approaching the final corner but max was now assisted by drs. the two drivers were now side by side as they raced to the line. you stood motionless, waiting for the outcome. just at the chequered flag george edged an inch ahead of max and won !!
the garage erupted with cheers and cries of joy and you jumped up and down in happiness. as the cars pulled into parc-ferme the team ran out to congratulate both george and lewis. george jumped into the arms of his team and hugged toto before giving lewis a respectful hanshake.
now it was time for the podium, from which you witnessed with the team and watched as your brother stood on the top step of the podium, beaming with the trophy in his hand. when george spotted you he gave you a nod. lewis was then given his trophy and lifted it up in celebration and you clapped for him. lewis looked around in the crowd for any sign of you and once he spotted those gorgeous eyes he winked at you.
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
after all the shenanigans of the podium celebration the two driver returned to the garage to celebrate properly with the team. you waited patiently as george was congratulated by many and watched on proudly. once you saw you waiting he interrupted a conversation and made his way over to him.
"im so proud of you" you say as you pull him in for a hug, he nearly has to bend down due to your height difference.
"thanks sis but truthfully i couldn't have done it without you"
you chuckle at this. "what do you mean"
"well you told me that my time would come and to never give up....and you were right".
you nod as you remember comforting him with those words after a tough race in f2.
just as he was about to speak again toto called him over to which he had to respond to. he raised his finger indicating he would be just a moment.
"hey"
a familiar voice makes you turn around. lewis is standing there smiling at you.
"oh hey.....oh um congrats today"
"thanks y/n". you liked the way he said your name.
"no problem" you whisper, looking down nervously because his gaze on you was making you flustered.
lewis clears his throat and hesitates before speaking. "are you after the other night?"
you look up at him and furrow your brows. "im fine" you say bluntly not wanting to discuss it further and especially not here. lewis nods and crosses his arms across his chest.
"you doing anything tonight?"
his question surpries you. "maybe why?"
"well maybe we could hang out?"
you smirk at his words. "that wouldn't be so bad"
lewis's eyes widen and just as he goes to speak and plan further george calls out to him.
"hey lewis me and some of the guys are going out for drinks, you coming?"
lewis looks at george and then back at you. you give him a stern look and a nod gesturing that he should go with george. he gives you a sympathetic look but you give him another look which involuntary makes him head over to george.
george stood there confused as to why his teammate was talking with his sister. you and lewis had never been introduced and you had never asked george to meet him. and from what george had seen it seemed as though the pair was friendly. part of him was convincing himself that he was being delusional and maybe simply you were congratualating him on a podium but it was the lewis had looked at you that had made him question. lewis had looked at you with a sense of desire and a sense of lust, one that would make someone question there entire existence. and yet you still hadn't the courage to admit you felt the same.

20 questions for fic writers
alright i've been tagged on this a few times so guess it's time to do it....i mean i do luv tag games :)
thanks for the tags @taste-thewaste @agostobuwan @tailsbeth-writes
How many works do you have on ao3?
13- one of which is 25 fics i posted as chapters for a holiday/seasonal themed december thing - most my early work is elsewhere and i didn't do any writing for a good chunk of years lolz
What's your total ao3 word count?
76,771 (most of this was written since nov '23)
What fandoms do you write for?
RWRB currently may dip my toes into 911 at some point (my only non-rwrb fic on ao3 is marvel lol)
Top five fics by kudos:
Ring on His Finger, Putty in HIs Hands (firstprince)
Third Times a Charm? (Darcy Lewis/Clint Barton)
i've got you acting like you want more (firstprince)
- like the way you work it - (firstprince)
gotta sign 'em all (firstprince)
Do you respond to comments?
yes
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
the only thing i can think of that would be angsty towards the end would be Santa Tell Me from my Holiday Bits and Bobs - it was pretty much 1800 words of angst
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably the second hand unwinds - it was one of my hey sweetheart fics and is pretty much just shy of 3700 words of alex being a sap (and the boys being cute girl!dads)
Do you get hate on fics?
um not hate - but recently a weird 'that couldn't have happened cuz of yada yada' kind of comment
Do you write smut?
LOLZ - that's like most of what i write *gigglesnorts*
Craziest crossover:
don't have any of these
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i don't think so
Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not yet! but i'm super excited to work on the one with @agostobuwan💚
All time favorite ship?
omg - i don't know that's too hard - i can tell you current fave is firstprince but my all time fave might actually be HP/CharlieW - maybe? or if we're going off amount i've read for it hp/dm or kirk/mccoy oh or bagginshield
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i had always planned go back and do more for my darcy/clint fic and make it into a series, but those ideas that got written down lamented away in a doc and are gone now lol
What are your writing strengths?
um....i don't know do i have these - i can write smut fairly well
What are your writing weaknesses?
i usually hafta go back and make sure i didn't just get uber prose-y and included enough dialogue - unless i'm doing it on purpose
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
cool if it works for the character - i really like when there's a translation somewhere - unless it's obvious what it means
First fandom you wrote in?
wrote in and posted somewhere - HP - followed closely by Idol RPF - i dabbled in other things that never got posted tho b4 that (the usuals for any 'lil geeky girl - star wars, star trek, angel, buffy
Favorite fic you've written?
idk - maybe something in your mouth cuz it just came togther so quickly and was fun to write (even if i intially thought it was gonna be smuttier lolz) or maybe my silly lil fairytale baby just say yes that topped out over 20k it's my first RWRB actual AU posted that wasn't just a small ficlet
alright so few quick tags to: @typicalopposite @adreamareads @inexplicablymine @stellarm
@sophie1973 @suseagull04 @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @itsmaybitheway

roomie: oh nothing
me:*grumbling in my head* damn lit analysis degree teaching them to understand themes
•roomie: i didn’t expect to love balin so much
me: you are not prepared for lotr
roomie: what?
me: what?
•roomie asks me to explain what was up with galadriel’s gift to gimli and them tearing up when i explain
• roomie: *as the fellowship leaves lothlorien* where’s tauriel??
me: ah, haha, um, about that
• roomie: *sam and frodo have an emotional moment* GAAAYYY *it turns sad* oops sorry
•roomie: why are there no dwarves in this one besides gimli??? i miss the dwarves

Mystery Club - Deleted Scenes
Tumblr media
Quick Chat with Steve and Peggy Between the firsts chapters
"Have you visited Wanda, dear?"
His question makes you tense right away. Peggy, beside him, gives him a gentle elbow, muttering to him not to be so direct, but you force a smile.
"Not yet."
Steve sighs. "Honey, don't you think putting things off is going to make it harder?" He says, and it's your turn to sigh, looking away. "You two used to be so close, I don't understand what the problem is..."
"Dad, I have to go, okay?" You interrupt him. "I'll talk to you later."
As soon as the tablet is turned off, you grunt unhappy, twisting your body to bury your face in the pillows.
You have been in Westview for two whole weeks now, and it's ridiculous how every day, without exception, Wanda hasn't left your thoughts.
Queer Support Group - Not specified chapter
The place was more crowded than you expected when you showed up, and Yelena gave you an encouraging smile when she noticed your anxiety.
"Relax, everyone is surprisingly nice by Westview standards." She commented, leading the way to one of the tables.
It was one of the rehearsal rooms for the theater staff, but it was with several tables of food and flyers, and soft couches. On the stage were colorful LGBT+ flags, and you saw a half dozen brooches.
As soon as you and Yelena reached the table at the entrance, you recognized Darcy Lewis.
"Hey, Stark, good to see you here." She greeted you kindly, and you smiled half-heartedly. "Hey Yelena, long time no show."
The blonde shrugged. "I'm a very popular person." She jokes, getting a laugh from the other. "Is Professor Banner here already? I need to ask him about homework."
"He's backstage." Answers the one with glasses.
"Good. Take care of my friend's reception, please, Lewis?" Yelena asks, and as soon as Darcy nods, the blonde offers you a gentle squeeze on the shoulders and walks out to the back of the place.
Darcy stops propping her elbows on the table, and you notice the clipboard with the form she was hiding.
"You need to fill out the application for the club, Stark." Darcy announces, and you hesitate.
"Actually, I was just going to watch... I'm kind of out of time for new clubs. Is that a problem?"
"Of course not!" Darcy assures gently, pushing the sign-up sheet to another pad. "You still need your visitor's badge, though. Here. Put in your name and pronouns."
You blink in surprise at the colorful sticker she hands you along with a pen. You put your name on, and after the female pronouns are written, you hesitate.
"Um... is it okay if I correct it?" You ask clumsily. Darcy smiles kindly, taking another clean sticker from the pad and handing it to you.
"No problem, you can fix it as many times as you like, darling. Even on other visits." She informs you. You smile shyly and as soon as you finish writing, then you put the sticker on your blouse.  "Sit wherever you like, today's topic is Gender Identity. Professor Sexton will be giving the lecture, and everyone is welcome to attend if they like."
You nod in farewell before going to look around for a place to sit.
Xu Xialing x Wanda Scene
A knock draws Wanda's attention away from your belongings. She finds it strange that you knock on your own door, rolling her eyes when she realizes that it is obviously a visitor.
It's a girl she doesn't know at the door, and Wanda instinctively adjusts her posture for the other girl's disappointed expression at finding her and not you.
"Can I help you?" Wanda inquires. The girl adjusts the weight of her feet, forcing a smile.
"Excuse me, is Y/N in? I wanted to ask her something."
"No, she's in class." Wanda retorts with narrowed eyes, noticing the girl hesitate about the clothes she's wearing - or the lack of pants. "Whatever you want ask her, I can pass on the message."
The girl clears her throat. "I was just going to invite her for a drink, but I think-"
"You were going to ask my girlfriend out? That's awkward." Wanda cuts meanly with a fake giggle. There are no official labels, but if this girl thinks she can show up and steal you away from her, she has something coming- "What's your name again?"
"I didn't know she had a girlfriend." The girl retorts ignoring Wanda's question. "Sorry, I'll-"
"I think you better." Wanda cuts in with a fake smile, waving her off into the hallway. The girl sighs in defeat, and turns away, leaving without saying anything more.
Wanda slams the door.
Wanda Piercings
You have a pile of homework piled up on the desk in front of you, and a weary sigh escapes your lips as the words begin to crumple in front of you.
Wanda, from her bed, notices immediately.
"Come here, sweetheart." She asks gently, but you don't take your eyes off the lesson.
"I have to finish this, Wands." You murmur to her, even though you have no idea what you are studying anymore.
"Take a break." She insists, putting away the cell phone where she was playing while you were studying. "Lie down here with me."
"But, Wands..."
"Now."
You sigh in defeat, dropping your pen and pencil and crawling back into bed. Wanda opens her arms and you lie in her lap, your head on her stomach. Her hands go directly to your hair, and you sigh in satisfaction.
"That's good." You murmur with your eyes closed, and she smiles warmly.
"I know, I'm really good with my hands." She jokes, getting a soft chuckle from you. Adjusting on the bed to be closer, you move up a little, and are surprised by the hardness you feel in your cheek. Opening your eyes, you move your head away to find the small elevation at the height of Wanda's boobs, who watches you with curiosity. "What's wrong, babe?"
Instead of answering, you move one of your hands into her blouse, ignoring the way her breath hitches gently to grope her breasts or rather the tip of them.
"Shit, Wands." You gasp affectedly, feeling the piercings. She gives an affected chuckle, following your desperation to pull her blouse out for a good look. Once you have it at face height, her full breasts with the two metal piercings on each hard nipple, you practically melt into the mattress. "Fuck me." You grunt, getting a soft moan as you move forward and your mouth closes over one of them.
"Baby, I thought you were tired..." Wanda tries, not resisting one bit when you gently push her back onto the mattress, your tongue playing with her piercing as your fingers play with the other, "Oh, that feels good." She gasps at the teasing, choking when you press one leg between theirs.
"Me? I don't know what you're talking about. I feel wide awake." You tease, offering a mischievous little smile that makes her giggle breathlessly. Your gaze returns to her breasts and the piercings, admiring them. "God, Wanda, that's so fucking sexy. How could you hide it for so long?"
She giggles shyly, one hand going up to her hair. "They're not very comfortable for you to sleep on."
"Don't mind me, wear these all the time." You retort, your eyes sparkling, getting a giggle in return. Wanda gives up talking when your mouth closes over them again.
Lorna Dane Scene - During the last Chapter
Y/N leaves the Mexican food line and meets Lorna outside the restaurant, smoking an almost-finished cigarette. As soon as they see each other, the older one offers a half-hearted smile, and the smaller one has half a second to react before the other turns around.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
Y/N smiles again, switching the hand holding the food as she approaches. "Of course. You're Lorna Dane, right? Wanda's sister. We haven't been introduced yet, I'm Y/N Stark."
The brunette smiles slightly, and Y/N is impressed at the mild physical similarities between Erik, the twins, and her. "I know." She comments gently, putting out her cigarette to shake the other's hand. "I work here all week. I see her drive the truck with you in the passenger seat all the time, and this town is full of gossip."
Y/N nods in understanding, shifting the weight of her feet, ready to say goodbye. But Lorna clears her throat. "I hear you two are leaving." Declares the younger woman, which surprises Y/N, who stares at her. Lorna clarifies, "Erik mentioned."
"Oh, right." Y/N mutters. "Yes, we will, at the end of the school year. Wanda wants to go back to Sokovia, and reconnect with her mother's family and all that. And no offense, this town sucks."
Lorna giggles in agreement, and Y/N smiles before looking at her watch. "Look, I gotta go, see you around?"
"Wait." Lorna asks before Y/N leaves the restaurant area. She pulls out of her uniform pocket a pen and her order-taking notebook and writes something on a piece of paper that she then cuts out. Y/N takes the paper when it is handed to her. "I know she probably hates me, but I... Just, hand it to her? It would be nice if, I don't know, we at least got to know each other. If only to talk about what an asshole Erik is."
Y/N puts the paper away in her pocket and smiles at Lorna. "She doesn't hate you, Lorna, I assure you. It's just a tough situation. As you said, Erik is a prick, and after all that's happened, Wanda isn't ready to have another sibling." Y/N says sincerely, and when Lorna nods in understanding, half disappointed, the older one steps forward and places a hand on the smaller one's shoulder. "It doesn't mean she'll never be ready. I'll give her the number, and we'll leave Westview in the summer. And maybe, in a few months, or years, we'll come back here and you two can have coffee. Create a bond that won't be tainted by the drama of your parents."
Lorna smiles, nodding. "Thank you."
"Don't mention it."

Tinder in Real Life
Pairings: Harry Lewis x fem!Reader, Sidemen x platonic!Reader Word Count: 2k Warnings: Language some people may find offensive, sexual themes, recycled lines from Sidemen Tinder in Real Life because I'm not at all creative Request: Hey! Could you do reader x Harry imagine where the sidemen do a collab video with the reader who is also a big youtuber and Harrys celebrity crush. And during the video the reader is very flirty, leaving Harry a flustered mess when the flirting is directed towards him, but very jealous when its with any other sidemen.
The Sidemen were one of the biggest groups on YouTube and one that you were very familiar with. At the age of 23, you were a fair bit younger than some of its oldest members but yet you had a close relationship with JJ, whom you had met through YouTube.
You had started your channel when you were 17, just under four years ago, making makeup videos, which was a passion of yours when you were younger. Not that you were any good at it back then. Those videos quickly become unlisted when your channel started blowing up in late 2016, now nearing 20 million at the present time.
It wasn't long before you expanded your horizons and had started making different sorts of videos, including vlogs of your everyday life - which wasn't and still isn't that exciting in your opinion - and those where you just had a laugh, attempting to do stupid challenges that were so popular back then. It was those, however, that grew your channel. Your fans seemed to love them and so you gradually started to make more.
As your small channel began to grow significantly, it caught the attention of KSI, a member of the Sidemen, who reached out to you to for a collab. You were ecstatic. You couldn't believe it at the time, why would someone like KSI with 20 million subscribers want to collaborate with you? By that time, you couldn't exactly call yourself a small channel anymore, with almost 5 million subscribers but it still didn't make any sense to you.
You and JJ quickly bonded after filming together. You had a very similar sense of humour and interests. As the years went, the older boy became one of your best friends, the nature of your relationship being very teasing and flirtatious but the both of you knew it was a joke. It was just the way you both were.
Though despite having known him for nearing 3 years now, you had never met the rest of the Sidemen, with the exception of Simon, as he lived with JJ. Which is why when he texted asking you to collaborate with the Sidemen, you couldn't turn the offer down. You were a fan of the group and the content they were producing. You thought the videos that they made were exceptional, that they were pushing the envelope of the standard of content on YouTube and often found yourself excited for new videos.
He had explained that they were filming another of their 'Tinder in real life' but a YouTuber version with the likes of BambinoBecky and ChiWithAC. You were so excited. You were finally going to meet the rest of JJ's friends and you had the opportunity to be a part of a Sidemen Sunday.
Tumblr media
You arrived at the studio the boys were filming at in the afternoon, finding and greeting JJ before he introduced you to the other sidemen in addition to Lux, Freezy and Stephen.
"And you've already met Simon." He finished.
"Yeah. Nice to finally meet you all. JJ tells me a lot about you guys." You laughed.
"Because that's assuring." Ethan pointed out with a chuckle, the other boys letting out agreements.
"Not all bad, I promise." You teased, winking at him. Ethan felt the blood rushing to his face, immediately becoming flustered and stumbling over his words. You found that you often had that effect on people as you could be very direct and flirtatious even when you didn't mean it. To you it was just friendly banter.
"Geez Y/N, stop flirting with people you met literally five minutes ago." JJ rolled his eyes.
"You sound a bit jealous, Jide." You smirked, a teasing grin spread across your face.
"Nah, allow it." There were eruptions of laughter around the room, coming from the boys. You were quick to notice Harry standing out of the way and was significantly quieter than the others, with what seemed to be a forced smile on his face.
Harry was in his own head, barely paying attention to what was going on around him. When JJ had told him that you were going to be in the next Sidemen video, he panicked. You were an accomplished YouTuber who he was quite fond of to say the least. Well, that would be an understatement, he had a fairly large crush on you. A crush that no one but Freezy and Lux knew about.
He knew that JJ had been friends with you for some time now but never considered the possibility of even meeting you. His anxiety acted as a barrier to even the thought of it. But he was currently in the same room as you and had said nothing more than a short 'hello'. He longed to have the confidence Ethan had to speak to you, even more so for you to look at him the way you were.
Already you were flirting with JJ and Ethan, something that caused a pit to form at the bottom of his stomach. He wouldn't admit it, but he could slowly feel the jealousy forming. Not that he had anything to be jealous about in the first place!
You continued to speak with the boys as you got your mic set up, telling them stories you were sure would embarrass JJ.
"Y/N, stop." The older boy whined. He could be like a child sometimes, but it was one of his more endearing qualities. He simply wouldn't be JJ if he wasn't.
"No, carry on." Simon laughed.
"Oh, don't worry, there's plenty more where that came from." You teased.
"I think it's time we started, don't you think?" Harry grumbled.
"Right." You smiled at the boy, who's cheeks became tinted red. He ducked to hide his face and walked around to stand in the line, hiding himself in the middle.
"Hi, I'm Y/N, I'm 23 and I'm from Y/H/T." You spoke to the camera once you were given the go ahead.
"I'm Simon, I'm 28. I like to practice safe sex."
"Always a good start."
"I could tie you to the bed, so you don't fall off." He finished with a giggle. You acted like you were pondering it for a moment before letting out a laugh and swiping right.
"I'm down for that." You teased. The boys all let out rumbles of laughter
"Hi, I'm Ethan, I'm 26 and kiss me if I'm wrong, but you're gonna swipe right."
"What would you rather?" You joked. Ethan shrugged his shoulders and walked closer to the board, sticking his head through with his lips puckered, eliciting a cry of protest from Harry that this wasn't allowed. You laughed and made an over exaggerated motion to swipe to the right, causing him to pout playfully but walked over to the right anyway.
"Hi, I'm Josh, I'm 28. KSI has a top ten single, but you're the only hot single I can see."
"Wow, that was smooth!" You said with a grin. "Definite yes from me."
"I'm Callum, I'm 26. Are you into fitness?" Freezy asked.
"Can't say I am." You replied, unsure of what turn this could take.
"How about you fitness dick in your mouth?"
"I wouldn't get too excited babes, I gag on my toothbrush." You laughed. "We could try though."
You swiped right on him, chuckling as you watched him let out a yes before joining Simon, Ethan, and Josh. You frowned slightly, a crease forming between your brows as you saw Harry whisper something furiously at his friend but ultimately got distracted by Vik stepping up to go next.
"I'm Vik, I'm 25. My ex-girlfriend always said I'd never do better than her, wanna prove her right?" You could hear the cries of the boys in the background, some scolding him, others laughing.
"Man actually said prove her right. Not wrong." JJ shrieked with a shocked look on his face, holding his head with his hands.
"You need to find someone for that." You snarked, swiping left on the boy, who shrugged and walked off.
"Damn! You got told!" Lux cackled.
"Uh hi. I'm Harry. I'm uh 25, no I'm not I'm 24." He stumbled. "Are you sure you're a muggle? Because that ass is magical."
"You should see how magical it can be." You spoke before cringing at yourself and laughing, swiping right to avoid a reply. The boy's face grew a bright shade of red, closely resembling the colour of a tomato.
"Geez, is that an offer?!" Freezy yelled from the right side. You laughed, observing how Harry whispered furiously to the boy to stop and winked at him once he had could see. Your laughter only increased as you watched JJ step up.
"I'm JJ. I'm 28 and are you a raisin? Cause you're raising my dick." The boy in question stood in front of you so confidently, hands clasped together in front of him so seriously that you just lost it. By the time you composed yourself, there were tears almost falling from your eyes.
"A* for effort." You laughed, swiping right eliciting a cry of success.
Tumblr media
You had wrapped up filming your segment of the video, which conveniently was the last of the day. You found JJ who you spoke to whilst the other boys were otherwise occupied talking to each other.
"Cheers for coming, Y/N/N. You've been great."
"Anything for you." You joked.
"Don't tempt me." He laughed. You could feel eyes on you, eyes that were burning into your side. You turned your head to see Harry staring you and JJ down before looking away after being caught in the act, and suddenly felt very uncomfortable.
"Does Harry not like me or something?" You whispered to JJ, feeling self-conscious all of a sudden.
"Not that I know of." He frowned looking at the younger boy. "He can be a bit awkward at times and gets flustered a lot."
"Right." You agreed. You excused yourself before sauntering up to the boy in question, calling his name to snap him out of the daze he appeared to be in.
"Oh, um hey Y/N." He stumbled.
"Hi." You smiled gently. "I uh, I was just wondering, do you... have I done something to offend you?"
"Offend me? Why, uh, why would you think that?" He rambled.
"It's just... it's nothing, it's probably just me overthinking things." You waved it off, feeling like a complete idiot.
"I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that I don't like you. I don't not like you, in fact I really like you! Oh, um I mean I like you, you're very pretty." The boy couldn't stop rambling which made you laugh. "No, wait."
"You think I'm pretty?" You blushed interrupting him. Harry felt his mouth go dry, not being able to get anything coherent to come out. "Well, Harry, I really like you too."
"What?" His eyebrows shot up so far it was almost comical. "Really? So, you don't like the other guys?"
"What? No." You laughed. "That's absurd. Why would you think that?"
"You seemed very..." The boy trailed off, not wanting to offend you after you had admitted to liking him.
"Flirty?" You finished, causing him to nod. "I'm like that with everyone, I don't mean to be half the time."
"Oh."
"Well, how about you give me your phone number and when you finally grow a pair, you can ask me out?" Your confidence levels had shot up spontaneously.
"Uh, sure." His cheeks had become a dark shade of red as he passed his phone to you so you could put your number in. You kept looking up at him as you typed, putting your name under 'Y/N x' in his contacts before handing it back to him.
"Y/N! Come on! We're going to Nando's!" JJ called from the other side of the room.
"Call me." You winked. Your bottom lip was caught between your teeth and was currently the only thing from stopping the wide grin from spreading across your face. A grin that hadn't disappeared from your face for the rest of the day, much to the curiosity of JJ, who was disappointed when you refused to tell him why, or more appropriately who, had put the smile on your face.

Tumblr media
You had been a paid intern for the FBI for about a year, paid being said lightly. But the job was definitely worth it. While being under the wing of the BAU you had not only learned so much about your hopefully future profession, but you had made a family with the team. Especially under the wing of Tara Lewis, she had been there for a little while but you looked up to her work and she was more than happy to offer advice and a good wine night.
The team knew you had a second job on the side but weren’t exactly sure what it was, just that you worked from home. They respected your personal life enough to stay out of it, however that didn’t stop Rossi from offering you a little extra because “that's what uncles are supposed to do”. You would always wave him off and say you could handle yourself, because you could.
You thoroughly enjoyed working. The money and gifts were obviously a big reward but there was always something so exciting about being on camera. Maybe it was how risque it was, being exposed for thousands to see. Or the fact that many were pleasuring themselves to the sight of you.
It was Friday night and you were getting your setup ready. You already had your outfit and glam on. Someone had sent you a set from your wishlist, lilac lace hugged your body in all the right places, accentuating all your assets and boosting your confidence. In your hair were the same color streaks you did with a tinting spray. You set the camera and laptop up in front of your bed. Silk sheets and plush pillows behind you where you could rest comfortably before your show started.
Little did you know across town Spencer Reid was getting ready to tune in to said show. He was never one for tech, having Garcia still hand him paper files and would refuse to upgrade his phone. He had gotten a computer just so he could video chat with doctors quickly about new medicine for his mother. However he quickly found out there was so much more the internet had to offer.
_
He had stumbled across your show one lonely night. Spencer couldn’t see himself going out to find a one night stand so the pleasure of his hand it was. He was looking through videos when he saw the thumbnail with a girl wearing glasses similar to the ones you wear when you forget contacts. His curiosity got the best of him and if he was a cat he’d be one life down. He couldn’t believe the sight on the screen in his lap.
There you were the bubbly intern, body trembling as waves of pleasure washed over you from the pink wand you held over your clit. He was delightfully flustered and the moans spilling from the computer’s speakers weren’t doing much to help.
He was entranced by you writhing in pleasure but was knocked back into reality after hearing you giggle. God he loved when you made that noise in the office, usually after fake flirting with Hotch or hearing about JJ’s boys. But this situation was totally different and if he was honest with himself he was very into it.
You reached over to grab a large pink dildo. Taking it in your mouth before swiping it through your folds. It easily slipped in and you started rapidly pumping it into you chasing your orgasm.
Spencer was too enthralled to even think about touching himself. He was using the gift which was his eidetic memory to the best of his ability to make this something he’d never forget.
You came with a loud moan, hips lifting and grinding against the toy to chase the friction. Quickly you turned off the wand and took the toy out. You sat up and looked into the camera before sucking it off. Spencer's eyes widened as he let out a groan shifting on his bed.
“Alright guys that was fun for tonight,” you said as you sat criss cross on the bed. “I didn’t think I’d be able to get to five.”
FIVE?? He thought in his head. He felt like he was gonna explode just watching those last few minutes. How was he supposed to last watching you make yourself cum five times.
“Thank you so much for all the tips and support! My links are all in the description and I’ll see you angels next Friday! Muahh” you signed off blowing the camera a kiss.
Spencer knew it was wrong of him to view a coworker in such an exposed light but he couldn’t help himself. So he spent the night viewing some of your old videos which brought him to what he swears to be the best orgasm of his life. Of course he sent gracious tips and made sure to buy little items off the wishlist, mentally noting to return every Friday night. Even if it meant hiding in the bathroom from Morgan in their shared hotel room on cases. That was two months ago.
_
Just as you finished your session the phone rang signaling a case. Quickly you got in the shower and put on comfy business clothes since you usually stayed with Garcia doing extra research and taking notes. You quickly grabbed your bag and keys, making your way straight to the office.
In the elevator you heard someone calling to keep it open. Spencer made his way in, buttoning his cardigan and adjusting his bag, quickly saying thank you. You pressed the button to the floor as you felt a pair of eyes on you. Looking over Spencer was eyeing you with a confused look on his face. You were about to question him when he spoke up first.
“I thought you had streaks in your hair”
“I did… Earlier tonight but they washed out.” He looked even more confused, then his brain put two and two together. He just realized what he had said. For a genius this wasn’t one of his brightest moments.
You looked at him amused as a deep blush spread from his neck to the tips of his ears. There was only one way someone would know about your quick hair change: by watching your show. The door to the elevator opened and you walked out giggling as he started sputtering apologies behind you. You quickly cut him off.
“Spence, it's alright. If you want we can talk about this later because right now you have a bad guy to catch. But may I suggest making your name something less obvious, not that I don’t love ‘magiclover187’.” He stood there mouth gaping as you patted his shoulder and walked up to the conference room to meet the rest of the team.
_
The case was one of the easier ones. Very minimal killing and the team was back by Tuesday morning, ready for a week of paperwork. Spencer had been dancing around you the whole time, he could barely keep eye contact with you and would rush to leave the room if you walked in. If he was this flushed around you with clothes on you could just imagine how much of a mess he would be when he watched you perform. Which brought an idea to your head.
Friday rolled around and you walked over to his desk where he was nose deep in one of his Russian books. You put your hand in it to bring it down. Once he noticed it was you he was about to start with another ramble of apologies when you stopped him.
“Alright I’m tired of the awkwardness and I want my friend back,” you said with a soft smile. “Why don’t you come over tonight and we can have that talk. I’ll even order a pizza and we can watch Doctor Who.”
“Y/n are you sure? I-I mean it is um uh Friday.. And ya know you usually film,” he said as he played with his tie.
You giggled at how nervous he was. Poor little genius didn’t know he was the only one with tricks up their sleeve.
“It’s fine I promise. Just a night with my favorite customer,” you said winking at him. He choked and looked around to see if anyone was looking at his outburst.
“I’m kidding.. Sort of,” you trailed off. “But I mean it about you coming over. I’m going home now but I expect you there in an hour with drinks.”
With that you turned around and walked off, adding a little extra sway to your hips. Obviously that did the trick as you heard a small groan behind you. Spencer dropped his head back as he started wracking his brain to figure out how to live through the night without making a bigger fool of himself or cuming in his pants.
_
You know maybe you were evil, you thought to yourself as you put on the finishing touches to your outfit for the night. Once you got home you sped into the shower to freshen up for him to come over and get your setup ready. You were wearing a cream colored strappy bodysuit. Over it was a large cardigan, almost resembling the maroon one he owned, strange. To top it off you were wearing your glasses and your legs were adorned with your favorite thigh high socks.
The three knocks on the door instantly made a smirk appear on your face. This might just be one of your best schemes yet. Looking through the peephole you saw Spencer gnawing on his bottom lip holding a few bottles of soda. Taking a deep breath you opened the door greeting him with all the casualty in the world.
“Hey! I’m glad you came, come in.”
He followed you in and tried to keep his eyes above your neck, trying to act like he wasn’t getting completely hard by just your outfit.  You sat down on your couch and patted it for him to sit next to you. He took the seat and gulped not really sure what you had planned.
“Um how long for the pizza to get here?”
“The pizza’s not coming Spence,” you said shaking your head. “But you are.”
You leaned forward to place your hand on his on the couch. “I want you to fuck me on camera Spencer,” you said with sweet confidence, fluttering your lashes. His eyes kept flashing between your cleavage showing through the cardigan and your lips before finally landing on your eyes. He didn’t see a single hint of humor in them, nothing transparent but lust.
He pulled his hand from under yours to place in your hair, pulling you into a heated kiss. You pushed back on his chest a bit to try and get some air.
“Save that magic for the show,” you said as you pulled him up to lead to your bedroom.
The camera was set at a little bit of a lower angle. The audience would just be able to see you and at most Spencer’s chest. You had made sure it was fine and even turned it on as a test so he could see what he looked like. After you got everything out of the way you hit the button to go live and instantly people started flooding in. If the bulge in his pants told you anything, it was that he was excited to be on the other side of the screen this time.
“Hello my angels!” you said into the camera, Spencer was taken back at what was going on. After months of lusting over the young intern he was finally seeing the show in person.
“Today I have a special guest with me. My very good friend, the Doctor,” you took his hand to pull him into frame. “He’s very excited to be here,” you said, hand moving down to palm him through his pants.
His hand reached out and wrapped around your throat, making you look up at him. Huh. This was a new Spencer you wouldn’t mind seeing more often.
“Let's not play games princess. Or else the only thing making you cum tonight are your pathetic little fingers. Am I clear?”
You shivered at the intensity of his voice instantly trying to nod the best you could within his grip. He let go and you went back to task at hand, undoing his pants and pulling them down along with his boxers. He was long and pink. Precum already spilling out of the pretty tip, you couldn’t wait to have him in your mouth, among other places. You wasted no time in licking a broad stripe along a vein under it. His hand went to grab a handful of your hair giving it a testing tug as a warning to stop teasing.
Your hand went to grip what couldn’t fit in your mouth but you tried your best to take him all in. You could hear the pings of tips and comments being said. Spencer could too and leaned over slightly to read them.
“Face fuck her,” he murmured. He pulled you off of his cock and looked down into your eyes, “Is that what you want princess? Hm.” His thumb went to clean up the spit dripping down your chin before rubbing your lips. “You want me to fuck your face?”, he said in a condescendingly sweet voice.
“Yes Doctor please! Fuck my throat.”
“Good girl.”
Both his hands made their place nested in your hair, guiding you to his cock. He wasted no time in being brutal. Tears were leaking down your cheeks as he kept on hitting the back of your throat. Spencer was enjoying himself to the fullest letting out curses and praises at how good your mouth felt. He knew he wasn’t going to last much longer and you could feel it too as he started to throb in your mouth. He then pulled you off, a trail of spit connected from your lips and his cock.
“Such a dirty whore for me. Show everyone how messy I make you,” he took your head and made you turn to look in the camera. Comments pinged talking about how pretty you looked with mascara running and smudged lipstick.
“Thank them and ask if you deserve to cum on my cock,” Who knew Spencer had this in him. But you were loving every second of it and put on your best pair of puppy dog eyes to beg the camera for Spencer to split you in half. And you had no shame in doing so.
“Please let the Doctor fuck me. I’ve been such a good girl for you guys,” you pleaded into the camera. The audience was pleased with your begging as they said you deserved it for being so good.
Spencer took his time in unbuttoning the cardigan you had on, teasingly rubbing your arms as he slipped it off. His hands then went to the bodice of it, groping your breasts and teasing your nipples through the fabric.
“Ah shit doctor, please fuck me already.”
Who was he to deny you of such a thing when you asked so nicely. He pushed you back down on the silk sheets. Pulling you by your thighs to the end of the bed where he moved the thong of the bodysuit to the side and slid his cock up your folds. Lubricating it in your juices before slipping right in. You both gasped at the intrusion, his hands grabbing your hips with a force sure to leave bruises. He used the leverage to set a brutal pace, ramming his cock into you.
Your ears were ringing from the pleasure but you could hear the constant pings of your tip box and comment section flooding.
“Shit baby you’re so tight. Perfect little pussy squeezing me so good.” You babled off thank yous and whimpers from being so close to your climax.
You felt Spencer stop for a second and reach over to grab something. Then you felt it. Your wand set to the highest setting placed on your clit as he started to thrust into you again. Sounds of your moans and skin slapping together filled the room along with the buzzing of the vibrator. You were sure there was going to be a noise complaint notice on your door in the morning.
You were so close to having the bubble in your stomach burst and so was he.
“I'm gonna cum Doctor,” you practically yelled. “Please cum inside me!”
“Cmon princess. Let me feel you let go.”
With that the knot broke and you swore you died and went to heaven. Your walls squeezing Spencer led him to his end a little after you. Thrusts faltering and groaning at the feeling of pleasure washing over him. He turned off the wand and put it to the side before slipping out of you.
Looking into the camera you gasped at your appearance. Hair disheveled and face messy from crying in pleasure multiple times that night. Your mixed release leaking down your thigh and onto the sheets.
There were non stop pings of people calling Spencer a lucky bastard and asking for him to come back next Friday. Spencer nodded his head over to your bathroom to get you guys something to clean up with and let you do your closing.
“Thanks for the love tonight angels,” you said with a smile on your face, entirely blissed out. “As always the links are in the description and I’ll see you guys next Friday. Maybe I’ll talk to the Doctor about future appearances. Bye!”
With that you fell back on your bed and closed your eyes. Your body jolted at a sudden coldness between your thighs.
“Right sorry,” Spencer whispered.
“So where did that come from?” you looked at him with an eyebrow raised.
“A magician never reveals his secrets,” he stated seriously.
You giggled and took his hand, “Thanks for doing this with me.”
“Of course. Now why don’t you shower while I get us a pizza. For real this time.”
“Or we can shower together then call the pizza.”
He contemplated it before smiling at you, “You always have the best ideas.”
“Don’t I know it.. Doctor.”

The Jailbird and the Mouse
Spencer x Fem!OC (Aundreya)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Summary: When Aundreya shows up to consult on a case, Spencer seems less than pleased to see her, but his actions tell a different story. Bonus chapter!
Category: Smut. Hate fuck. Apparently I’m incapable of writing a single thing without some angst, so we’ve got a sprinkle of that in there at the end, too.
Warnings: Cussing. Choking. Nicknames. Degradation. Cuffs are used. Unprotected penetration, female masturbating, oral (male receiving), fingering. Semi-public at the beginning.
Word Count: 8.5k
A/N: Okay so this is supposed to take place during How to Lose Friends when they are both in their fresh, post-prison forms and are beyond pissed at each other, but you don't have to have read that chapter or the series to understand this. Also, shoutout to @writing-in-april for looking this piece over and helping me make some edits!
Things to Know: All you really have to know is that Aundreya was a criminal who’d already been to and broken out of prison, joined the BAU, Spencer and her had a previous relationship, Aundreya got Spencer sent to prison, broke him out, then took the fall for something Spencer was being accused of that she didn’t do, getting herself sent to prison again.
I’d been called back to help the BAU solve a case. Fascinating how when it was convenient for them, I held some value. But, after that I was just easy to throw in a jail cell to be forgotten about.
I didn’t want to be there, but unfortunately I didn’t have a choice. So, I closed my eyes, and took a long, deep breath before forcing the door open. I had barely entered the room, barely had made eye contact with Hotch standing opposite me, before both my shoulder blades were shoved against the wall behind me, with long fingers wrapping around my throat.
“What is she doing here?” the hiss in Reid’s voice sounded exactly how I’d imagined it in my head preparing for this encounter. He looked almost as bad as me. His curls were going in a million directions, and I could only imagine the amount of times he’d run his hands through them, probably due to stress. His eyes were blood-shot, slightly puffy, and the dark bags underneath seemed more defined. The only thing that contrasted all of that, and let me know his head was still in it, was the darkness he now held in his eyes. There was nothing lighthearted or soft about them anymore, at least, not for the moment and certainly not for me. Plus, there was a red-hot rage I could see boiling at the surface. It was like looking in a funhouse mirror, a warped version of myself being reflected back to me. I’d seen the same fury and darkness in my eyes every morning that was in his now, and the irritation that radiated off him matched my own. Really, the only difference between Spencer and I, was he still had his gun and badge and I didn’t.
“I was invited to help consult,” I snapped through my somewhat restricted breath. “So you better get the fuck off me.”
He gave my throat one last tight squeeze before stepping back, his intense gaze never leaving me. I met his gaze with a wicked smile while brushing my fingers over where the ghost of his hand used to be. I wanted him to see that he didn’t affect me. Angry or not, he held no power in our dynamic anymore.
“Chambers, good to see you,” Derek mocked, giving me a side eye laced with suspicion.
“Can’t say I feel the same,” I deadpanned, then turning on Hotch. “So, why am I here?”
“We have reason to believe that a rogue gang member is kidnapping and killing ex-military if they refuse to join,” Hotch explained with seemingly no emotion, as if he was unaffected by my presence.
“Cool,” I deadpanned again before asking, “So why do you need me?”
“We wanted to know if you know anything or have heard anything-” Derek started.
“Heard anything?” I cut him off with a scoff, “You mean besides the constant clanging of metal bars when I’m not left in complete silence by myself? No, I haven’t heard anything.”
“Can you find them?” Spencer asked as if it would be a difficult task for me.
“So you do want my help,” I clarified.
“I want your skills.”
I let out a disgusted chuckle in response to his quip. Venom dripped from my words as I voiced my thoughts from only moments before stepping into the room. “Oh, I get it. You only want me around when it's convenient for you. Otherwise you just wanna give up on me and let me rot in a cell.”
“What was I supposed to do!”
“What were you supposed to do?” I asked in disbelief, eyes wide. “What were you supposed to do?” I mumbled to myself again in a mocking tone, rolling my eyes. I put my hands on the back of the empty chair in front of me I assumed had held Spencer at one point, and leaned in toward him. He’d retreated behind the table since releasing me, and I quietly snarled towards him, “I don’t know, but sitting there on your tiny, plushy ass, wasn’t it. I’m leaving.”
Spencer was back over to me in a flash, slamming his hand on the door before I could even reach for the handle. Someone got better reflexes. I cocked an eyebrow at him.
“We have a suspect list that we want you to review.” Hotch caught me before I pushed Spencer out of my way.
“Fine. Make it quick.” I looked over the list Hotch gave me that contained about 30 men, none of which rang any bells. “This was a waste of time.”
“Hold on, guys,” Garcia trotted in, “I just found something.” She was in such a rush that she initially didn’t see me, bee-lining it straight for Hotch. Handing the iPad over to him, her eyes lifted to take in the rest of the room. That’s when she noticed me. Her eyes grew to the size of beach balls, and her perfectly done lips hung open. I tried not to feel too hurt, knowing that my presence would come as a shock to her, but it still stung seeing her at a loss for words, possibly even scared. She’d really been the only person who still had any hope left for me, and I was starting to wonder if that was true anymore.
My voice softened as I greeted, “Hey, Penelope.”
She struggled for words, a few ‘uhs’ and ‘ums’ headed my direction, ultimately being saved by Hotch. “Dave, you’re with me. Prentiss, Morgan, I want you to go to the ME, Garcia we’ll need you on call, and JJ, Lewis, I want you to go talk to this man.”
“What about me?” Spencer asked.
“You’re going to stay here and watch her,” Hotch commanded. I started laughing at Spencer’s visible discomfort. Spencer glared at me before opening his mouth to argue, but Hotch stopped him with a voice filled with authority, “I know you won’t be able to focus out there if you know she’s still here unattended. Let’s go.”
When everyone had left and the door shut behind them, I sang, “Well if it isn’t Doctor Reid drawing the short end of the stick, yet again.”
“Just sit down and shut up,” he tried to order with confidence as he took his own advice, sitting as far away from me as possible. Not once had he looked me in the eyes since I’d initially walked in and he had attacked me. Sure, his eyes were on me, but they never connected with mine.
“Is that a demand, doctor?” I challenged him.
“No, but it could be. I just don’t want to be the one responsible for letting you get away.” He shrugged in his chair, resting the ankle of his leg on the knee of the other.
“So you’re just gonna trust me to do what you ask?” I questioned. Throughout the entire time I’d known Spencer, he’d never gotten super riled up over something, but this was a whole different Spencer, one that I didn’t recognize or know . He was more on edge, confident, and clearly willing to wrap his hand around my throat with no hesitation. A type of Spencer I was more than happy to get to know. And let’s face it, I’d been in prison for 15 months. There wasn’t a ton of action going on in there that I wanted to get involved with. I just wanted to see how far I could push him before he snapped. “You don’t trust me, and you know you can’t. I put you in prison, just because I could,” I shrugged, contradicting what I’d insinuated earlier for my own entertainment, “and you think that I won’t just walk away from you when given the chance?”
“You’ve had the chance. For the past three minutes and forty-six seconds you could have left and you didn’t. What’s keeping you here?” he smugly fired back. Oh yeah, he’s definitely going to be fun to mess with.
“What’s keeping you here?” I copied, “Why’d Hotch bench you again? Because you can’t focus when I’m around?”
“No one can focus with you around!” he huffed hotly.
“Not well, but they certainly can do better than what you’re doing right now,” I patronized, “What is it about me that makes you all so nervous, huh? I’m just another criminal who happens to be a former co-worker. I thought you were used to working with those day in and day out.”
“Criminals or co-workers?”
“Either.”
“None of them are like you,” he bit.
“Oh I know,” I ran my tongue over my lips, “So I’ll ask again, what is it about me that makes me so different?”
He looked up at me. In contrast to the first time he locked eyes with me, his expression was stone cold. “You were a part of this team, and you betrayed us. You betrayed me. I don’t know how I could’ve been so stupid to believe you were actually helping us! I just want to know why you picked me. You were going to take one of us down, why’d you choose me?” I could see the gears spinning in his head, and was about to answer when he frustratedly added, “Was it because you thought I’m the weakest?”
That’s it. That’s what’s always made him tick. And he used the present tense. We were still an entire table length apart, so I started slowly sauntering toward him. I prodded, “Is that what you think? You believe you’re the weakest on the team? Or do you just think that’s what I thought?”
“We all have our roles,” he responded, but not nearly as confident as he had been before.
“That’s not an answer,” I pushed.
“You still haven’t answered me, either,” he growled, and I decided to let this one go. We didn’t need to fully delve into his insecurities, no matter how much I wanted to.
“It was similar to that. You were the most afraid of me, I could smell it in the air.” I closed my eyes and pretended to revel in the stench of fear. “But, I could’ve gotten any one of them if I wanted.”
Spencer scoffed at that, “I think you overestimate your abilities.”
“I don’t,” I quickly fired back, “I could’ve gotten any of them, and to be honest, I was going to go after Derek, or maybe Emily, but then you spoke up from the corner of the room and I knew it had to be you.”
“Why?”
“Why this, Aundreya, and why that, Aundreya? Is that the only question you can ask?”
“Is it the only question you can’t answer?”
I was about halfway to him now, and decided to give him a little false hope. “I picked you, not because of your intellect, or how the rest of the team coddles you, or how relationship starved you are. I picked you because I could see something in your eyes that was different, something dark. And once I heard your full back story, I realized just how similar the two of us are.”
“We are nothing alike,” he insisted.
“Really? Because had you made one different choice or one thing went just a little bit wrong, you could have ended up just like me, with no family and no one to give a shit about you or what you do, except for the cops who just wanted you locked up and controlled.” I was dangerously close to him now, his head tilted to look at me, but he didn’t cower away. He actually seemed to welcome it. Which reminded me of something, “After knowing all of that, my past and everything I was, you still agreed to let me on your team.”
“I was the last person to say yes to you joining,” he informed me. This was news to me, but I couldn’t even be sure if he was telling me the truth. “I didn’t think it was a good idea for you to be working with us, but I was outnumbered and outranked.”
“No, you caved to their wishes,” I twisted his words to suit my needs, “Like you caved to mine.” I slowly reached down to place a hand on his chest. He eyed it all the way until I made contact with him, and it was like flipping a switch. He grabbed my wrist and held it close as he pushed out of his chair, the wheels spinning it wildly back into the monitor. He reached for my other wrist, which I let him grab, and held me against the wall, arms pinned next to my head. I did everything I could to not smirk. And he’s still caving.
“I didn’t want you here. I resisted the idea of you being around us,” he spat.
“Like you’re resisting the idea of being around me right now?” I arched an eyebrow, scanning him from head to toe, and I couldn’t help but let my gaze linger on a few spots. He opened his mouth to say something, but he shut it again, locking his jaw. I could see his genius mind at work, trying to come up with some way out of the little mouse trap I’d set up for him. I watched his eyes trail down to my lips and neck, soaking it all in. When his eyes met mine again, I tried to reach for him, but he forcefully slammed my hands back, pinning me to the wall again. Though, I wanted him to touch me this time. He was taking too long to make a move for my liking, so I decided if I couldn’t use my arms, I might as well use my legs.
All of his weight was already leaning toward me, so it wasn’t difficult to wrap my right leg around his waist and bring him all the way to me. The moment that they were within inches of my face, I attacked his lips. I was almost disappointed by the fact that he didn’t seem surprised at all, as if he knew how impatient I was and knew that I would force the first move. But, I wasn’t disappointed for long.
Spencer’s whole body was pressed against mine as he quickly swiped his tongue across my bottom lip, looking for entrance. I granted it, but I wasn’t going to give him the complete dominance that he wanted over the kiss. Instead, our tongues slid over each other’s searching for more than the other was willing to give. It was hot and messy, and he released his grip on my wrists, moving them to apply the same amount of force to my jaw. With my hands free, I made quick work of the buttons on his dress shirt, ripping it open. I was expecting skin and sighed when I found yet another shirt. This man and his layers.
Spencer took advantage of me sighing, giving him more access to my mouth, which I wanted to be annoyed about, but couldn’t care to be. I decided to make better use of my hands, running them down the sides of his body as he wrapped his behind my back. He pulled away from me so abruptly when I tried to massage him through his slacks, he basically dropped me on the floor. It was like being left out in a cold winter storm, just barely out of arm's reach of warmth.
Spencer shook his head, eyes on the floor, as if that would clear his mind of what clouded it, which was me. But I wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon. “There. You got what you wanted.”
I gaped at him before retorting, “We both know it wasn’t just me who got what I wanted. I’m sure you had a hard time pulling away.”
He glared at me as he rolled the chair back toward the desk and took a seat, “Not really. I have important work to do.”
I stood there staring at him trying to compose himself. His face was red and he tugged at his pants before crossing his leg over the other. I pressed my lips together, but still failed to contain the small laugh that escaped through my nose.
“Sure,” I mocked, “Especially since everyone else on the team is already doing that work for you.” He didn’t look up from whatever papers were on the table, trying in vain to ignore me, though I wasn’t ready to have his attention off me yet.
I shut the folder that he was in the middle of reading, not like he was actually reading it considering how long it was taking him to flip the page, and sat right on top of it. He was about to reach for it again, but retracted his hand at lightning speed when my legs got in the way. I flashed another mockingly sweet smile his way, but he looked out toward the window, right next to the wall I’d just come from. I swung my legs back and forth off the side of the table just a bit, careful not to completely kick Spencer in the shin, though I couldn’t help but let my toes accidentally tap him a few times. As with all of the other times I’d touched him, he moved out of the way, uncrossing his legs with a perfect foot-sized gap in between his knees. I rested my foot in that small gap on the chair, rolling his body closer to me. Then, for no other reason than wanting to feel him squirm underneath me, I plopped down on his lap, my legs straddling his. I pretty much had him locked in his seat.
“What are you doing?” he questioned, a look of complete indifference gracing his face, but I knew it was just a front.
“Just making sure you’re doing your job,” I replied, winking at him.
“And… how do you think this is helping me do my job?”
“I’m making sure you’re paying attention to me,” I whispered in his ear seductively, lacing my fingers together on the back of his neck, “Plus, I’m doing what you asked me to. How did you put it? Sit down and shut-”
Using his thumb and forefinger, he pinched my cheeks and brought my lips to his forcefully. The kiss was just as hungry as the last, teeth clashing and tongues furiously fighting. He moved his long fingers onto my hips with a bruising grip, which I had absentmindedly started grinding against his. He pulled away from me for a moment, and his harsh tone reminded me that this was nothing like the last time we’d been together, when we’d both been a bit more innocent. “You never did have any manners at work.”
I smirked, “I know. Imagine my manners at home.”
A low, almost inaudible groan came from Spencer’s throat at my suggestion, but he tried to cover it up by moving my hair out of the way and latching his lips onto the side of my neck. I gasped at the contact of his teeth pulling at my soft flesh, paired with the feeling of his growing bulge pressed against my core. His fingers gripped my hips harder and moved them faster, drawing a small whimper from my lips. I felt him smile as he trailed kisses down my neck to my collar bone, leaving a single bite mark there. I tried so hard to contain my high-pitched moan when he moved one of his hands from my waist to pinch one of my nipples through my shirt.
But I was supposed to be the clear-headed one, so I forced myself to not get too wrapped up in the feeling. If I wanted to get to my end goal, I was going to have to leave him wanting more, which unfortunately in turn meant leaving myself in the same condition.
My hips had gotten faster along with Spencer’s hands, but when I felt him start to buck his hips up against me, I knew that he was getting close and it had to end. Immediately, I stopped my movements and untangled myself from him, but not before dragging a finger up the column of his throat, sneering, “Too bad. I could’ve helped you, had you done anything to help me.”
I left that open for interpretation, either as a jab to his masculinity or to what started my rage in the first place: being left in prison. He didn’t ask for clarification either, clearly too bothered by being left on edge. He did, however, follow up with, “Help you? Why would I want to do that? You’re a terrible person.”
I grinned as if receiving a medal of honor, “That I am, Doctor.”
I moved the lay down on the couch while Spencer attempted to refocus on his work. I made a show of sighing a couple times and rolling around ‘to find a comfortable position’ on the couch, just to piss him off. I could tell it was working based on his clenched fists turning white, and the way his leg was jumping. He was resting his head in his hand, which almost perfectly shielded my face from his.
He still wasn’t turning the page, so I offered, “Can you flip the page by yourself, or do you need some help?”
He wasn’t given the opportunity to respond, because Hotch, followed by most of the team, came barreling through the door.
“Colby Ulton, 43 years old, has a long record and wasn’t home,” JJ announced, following Hotch. It’d been a while since I had to deal with their inhuman pace when it came to talking about unsubs and profiles, so most of the stuff they said next flew over my head.
I was way behind in the conversation, but none of that mattered when Hotch turned to me, “Colby Ulton. I want you on him.” He'd barely gotten the command out before I was reaching for the door handle.
“I don’t.” The words were hot and dry and coming from none other than Doctor Reid. I rolled my eyes. He moved to step in front of the door, blocking my passage out again, leaning casually with his back against it, arms crossed. Our faces were barely centimeters apart.
“Why not?” I asked in a mock-curious voice.
“I don’t trust you. Who’s to say you won’t just run off? Then we’d let a high-profile criminal walk free. Plus, we’re not even sure he’s the right man,” Spencer pointed out. I was going to point out how I had just made that same argument about me leaving, and he refuted it himself only to bring it back up now, but I didn’t get the chance.
“He’s the best we’ve got right now,” Derek countered. I could tell he sort of just wanted me out of the room, but Spencer’s motives appeared very different.
He never took his eyes off of mine as he recited, “We think it’s a rogue gang member who’s either left or been kicked out within the past year. Ulton’s been in prison, which could mean he’s gone rogue, or it could mean he’s joined a new gang, one that, as you probably know, wouldn’t allow this type of acting out. Either way, he hasn’t demonstrated gang affiliated behavior in almost three years. Not to mention he had his tattoo removed and is out of our age range. I don’t think putting her on, most likely, the wrong man’s trail is worth the risk of letting her walk free.”
The room was silent as we all waited for someone else to make the first move. I decided to be that person. “So what do you suggest they do with me, hm?” I questioned, walking my two fingers up his chest with each word. Then I leaned in and made it very clear, “Because I am not going back to prison.”
I bit his earlobe on the way back, and I saw the way his pupils dilated just slightly at the feeling, “I’ll watch her for the night.”
“What?” Derek and I said at the same time, but our facial expressions were very different.
“Yes,” he stated, more confidently now, “She has nothing to do right now, but we might need her later in the investigation, so sending her all the way back to prison doesn’t make sense.”
“And you'll make sure she doesn’t escape?” Derek questioned.
“She hasn’t so far, has she?” Spencer challenged. When he got unnerved looks from the rest of the team, he assured, shooting a small smirk my way, “Trust me, she won’t.” How cute. He thinks he can wrap his skinny little fingers around my neck and pull a moan from me once, and all the sudden he’s in control. He switched our position, pinning me up against the door, clasping the handcuffs back around my wrists in front of me. I was starting to think he had a thing for pushing people into walls. It was his turn to whisper in my ear, “And you won't want to.”

When we arrived back at his apartment, I took a moment to survey the room. It looked almost exactly as it had the last time I’d been there. Books piled up everywhere, papers strewn all over the desk, a little dark and dusty, maybe a bit more worn, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The only difference was that it no longer suited him as well anymore. He used to be this shy, studious, loner-type that didn’t really like people, and he had a certain innocence about him. There was nothing innocent about him anymore. He didn’t seem shy either, much more confident; still studious and a loner though. However, I bet he liked having at least one person over at all times, or not being home at all. It meant that he didn’t have to be alone with his own mind, and after being in solitude myself, and knowing that he’d been in there too, that feeling of complete silence, utter aloneness, was something we’d never want to experience again. We were honestly perfect for each other in that way.
The other thing I’d noticed, based on what I'd seen of him within the last few hours and what I knew prison could do to a person, I guessed he went off of instinct rather than intelligence more than he ever had in his life.
Spencer had to take the time to shrug off his satchel and kick off his shoes, neither of which I even had. All I had was myself and what I was wearing, which wasn’t much. At least I wasn’t in an orange jumpsuit anymore.
“Wow, you’ve really renovated the place,” I snickered. Spencer didn’t say anything, just rolled his eyes and brushed past me. I forced my wrists outward a couple times, making a clanking sound with the cuffs, asking, “You gonna take these off?”
He faced me with a smirk and shook his head slightly, “Don’t think so.” Pulling out a chair at the puny kitchen table, he sat down, and I felt like we were much in the same position we’d been in at the office. I was in his home turf, if I could even call it that, but I wasn’t just going to let him be in charge.
I decided to go straight for the jugular, “Why’d you bring me home, Spence?”
“This isn’t home, not for you,” he snapped.
I scoffed, “Doesn’t look like it is for you, either, but that doesn’t change the question.”
“I told you. I didn’t want to risk you running away.”
“You didn’t want to lose me?” I inquired. He could hear the way I was rephrasing it to change the narrative, not like I was wrong, but he successfully dodged it.
“I didn’t want to lose an asset over the wrong man, tipping the right one off, and potentially risking him going underground. I’m just trying to catch an unsub,” he shrugged.
“You’ve got an answer for everything, don’t you?” I shook my head in amusement.
“You don’t?” he cocked an eyebrow.
“Of course I do,” I quickly answered.
“Then answer this,” Spencer squared his shoulders, now completely facing me, “Why didn’t you run the moment you got the chance?”
“I had three FBI personnel in the car with me, then a team of BAU agents surrounding me, and then was left alone in the same room as an agent who can shoot 100 on his test. I am many things, but I am not stupid nor am I suicidal.”
“How’d you know I shot 100?” Spencer followed up.
I smiled, “I know things.”
“How about all the chances you got when you were in prison? You’ve broken out plenty of times before, why not do it again?” He was leaning forward, and he seemed genuinely curious.
It was a good question, one that I actually hadn’t pre-thought the answer to. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting to even make it this far. “I was biding my time.”
“For..?”
“Leverage.” It was a simple word, but one that seemed to make a great impact. Spencer leaned back in his chair and contemplated my answer. It wasn’t a complete lie either, I just didn’t want to give away too many details.
Spencer finally whispered, “Against?”
I flashed him a wicked smile. “You.” His face contorted into something I couldn’t fully recognize, eyes narrowing. “You, Spencer. I’ve been waiting for you to make an error, a mistake. That was the one flaw in my plan, that while I picked the easiest to emotionally manipulate, I picked the hardest to mentally manipulate. And you don’t make very many mental mistakes, do you Spencer?” I asked, approaching him. I’m really hoping you’d like to cash one in right now, though. I could practically see the internal argument being fought inside Spencer’s head; one side telling him to give in, it wasn’t that bad, the other telling him to resist, that somehow, this would corrupt him further. I needed the former to win. “You wouldn’t let yourself get caught up in the moment, would you? You wouldn’t crack, take what you want, what you need, what you deserve against your better judgement. Because you’re all brain, Spencer. All brain, and no heart.”
That’s what did it.
Spencer literally swept me off my feet, tossing me onto the couch like a rag doll. His hand returned to my throat as if it belonged there, and he pushed open my legs with his knees. My hands may have been cuffed, but they could still be useful. I moved them to start unbuttoning his shirt when he swatted them away. He spat, “I’m not heartless. Not like you.”
“No,” I agreed, “You’re worse. At least I can admit to what I am. You just hide behind a badge and gun.”
Spencer shoved two fingers in my mouth, probably trying to shut me up. I smirked, running my tongue up and down the long digits, making sure to give him a preview of what was to come if he’d let it. His other hand trailed down the side of my body until it reached the waistband of the pants I was wearing. Forcefully, he yanked them down, taking my panties with them. I knew I was already pooling, but of course he had to rub it in. Snarky, he mocked, “For someone who talks a big game, you’re already looking pretty weak.”
I silently cursed my body for finding him arousing, and was about to have to come up with a clever comment when I saw Spencer pause. He was charging straight into this, and then he just stopped. I tilted my head, “Worried you don’t have it in you?”
Spencer met my eyes, and cooly stated, “I’m not going to let you be my mistake.”
Dammit. When I felt him start to pull away, I knew I had to say something to get him to stay. I needed to turn this into an advantage in his eyes, not just mine. “Why? So you can let this rage build up inside of you, eat away at your every thought, until you snap? What then? You lash out during a case, which causes someone to die, either because of your incapabilities or at your hand? And what for? Because you’re still mad at me? I’m right here in front of you, Spencer! You’re never going to get a chance like this again, so just do something!” By the end, it was a plea, and one that was brutally answered.
Spencer pushed two of his fingers inside me, already moving at a quick pace. I let out a small yelp at the sensation which clearly pleased Spencer. I attempted to refocus on unbuttoning his shirt, which became increasingly difficult because of how he was curling his fingers to hit that spot just right. I barely finished, pushing his shirt away from his shoulders when he leaned away from me, taking both of his fingers with him. I was about to complain until I saw him dropping his shirt to the ground and unbuckling his belt, pushing his own pants and underwear out of the way in a similar fashion as he’d done to mine. He pumped his fist over his shaft a couple of times before lining himself up between my wide open legs. He teased my clit with the tip of his cock, and I could feel the precum beading there. I bit my lip as I looked up at him.
Spencer’s eyes were blown when he quietly demanded, “Say it.” He wants me to beg. I was okay with him thinking he was in charge for now, so I played into it by shaking my head. He slammed my cuffed wrists against the arm of the couch just above my head, bringing his face so close I could feel his lips brush mine as he repeated, “Say it.”
It was more forceful the second time, and something about his hot breath on my face and the feeling of his hips trying, and failing, to stay still against mine pulled a whimper all too genuine from my lips, “Punish me.”
At my words, he slammed his cock in my entrance, setting a merciless pace. With no time to adjust to his length, the heat burning between my legs got fiercer. The sounds of his hips hitting mine filled the room, both of us trying to control our moans, not wanting the other to know how much we were really enjoying it. My back arched off the couch, sending my fingers over the arm, brushing over thin objects on the small table there. A pen and paper clip.
I pressed my lips together to contain the grin that just about took over my face. Looking down at Spencer, who was way too busy biting marks into my skin, I could tell he hadn’t noticed the detrimental error I’d just realized he’d made. I made quick work of unclasping the cuffs from around my wrists, but left them on loosely just for show.
The coil in my stomach was getting tighter and tighter, and while I usually would have tried to control myself, I let the moans tear through my lungs. This caught Spencer’s attention, perring up at me with a twinkle in his eyes, one that told me he thought he had me. He mouthed into my neck, “This too much for you to handle, Jailbird?”
I scoffed at his pet name. Alright Doctor Reid, you’ve had your fun. Now let me show you how to really be in charge. “Not in the slightest, Mouse,” I quipped. Before he could think, I wrapped my legs around his waist, and put my hands on the back of his head. I flipped us off the side of the couch, landing on top of Spencer. With the wind knocked out of him, I quickly grabbed his wrist, clasping one of the cuffs around it, looping the chain behind the couch leg, then synching the other around his free wrist. I placed his head on the ground and leaned back, tracing patterns on his chest.
It took him a moment to realize what had just happened, but I saw the moment the light went off. “You filthy bitch.”
I chuckled, “It seems as though that genius memory of yours forgot that I’m a criminally sound escape artist.”
He was fuming, but contained himself long enough to ask, “What changed?” I raised an eyebrow at him. “Since last time? You had no problem letting me take control then.”
I simply stated with disgust, “I was soft then.”
“Who’s to say you aren’t still now?” Spencer challenged.
I laced my fingers with his as I pinned them to the ground, my turn to be the one looking down on him, faces only centimeters apart. We locked eyes as I explained, “You can see it too, I know you can. I wake up and see it in the mirror every day, and I see it in you too now. It’s in your eyes. That darkness. That feeling of destruction, of being broken, of being a monster. It’s there. I can see it like it’s my own.”
I expected him to snap at me. To argue with a clever quip. But he didn’t. Spencer leaned up as far as he could and kissed me. Not in the angry, predatory-like way that we had earlier, but really kissed me. I was so taken aback by the gesture that I practically jumped off him after a few seconds. I hated myself for letting it happen for even that long.
I stormed away from him, hissing, “Don’t try to get my sympathy now that you’re the one chained like a dirty animal. I’m not gonna fall for it.”
I saw something quick flash across his face before it hardened again. I could feel his eyes following my every move as I walked away, so I decided to make a show of it. I swished my hips back and forth, and even bent all the way over to pick up our clothes for no reason, just so he could have a perfect view between my legs. I heard the rattle of the cuffs against the couch and smirked to myself.
Tossing the clothes as far away as possible, I reached under my shirt to unclasp my bra, slipping it out one of the arm holes. I spun it around my index finger a couple of times before letting it fly off in the direction of the rest of our clothes. Toying with the hem of my shirt, I rhythmically moved it around my body so that he could only see some exposed skin at a time. I slowly pulled it higher and higher until I removed the garment completely. Standing completely bare in front of him, looking down on his naked body, I’d never felt more in control.
Spencer was drilling holes into me as I got down on my knees, crawling toward him. Again, his hands shot forward only to be stopped by the metal. I tutted, “Now, now, Mouse. That’s not how this works.”
I stroked a single finger up his length, and when it brushed over the tip, he squeezed his eyes shut. I wetted my lips as I wrapped a single hand around his cock, starting at an agonizingly slow pace, a stark contrast to the one he’d set earlier. I had barely started moving at a faster pace when Spencer started to buck his hips up into my hand. I slammed his hips back down with my other arm, giving him a cold look. His hips stilled and I knew he was getting desperate.
I flattened my palm against his lower belly, making sure he’d stay in place as I steadily picked up the pace. Spencer threw his head back when I swiped my tongue over his tip, and huffed when I retracted my hands, breaking contact all together.
I hummed, “Actually, this isn’t that interesting.” I scooted back on the floor, holding eye contact with his piercing irises as I spread my legs wide open for him to see. Neither one of us has had our release yet, so I might as well take mine and leave him high and dry.
I brushed my fingertips down my body, cupping my breasts on the way, until I reached my clit. I started to rub circles over the bundle of nerves, not realizing how close I already was. I let out exaggerated moans as I continued my ministrations, steadily pushing myself toward the edge.
“Stop.” It was barely a whisper, and I wasn’t sure if I even heard it, so I ignored it. Right as another moan ripped through my lungs, I heard Spencer say, louder and more demanding this time, “Stop.”
I was too close to stop. I barely had the mental capacity to smirk down at him before I felt my release crash over me like a tidal wave. For dramatic effect, I whined out Spencer’s name as my walls clenched around nothing, helping myself through my orgasm. Slowly coming down from my high, my head lulled back, release seeping into his rug.
Barely allowing myself to catch my breath, I leaned forward onto my knees, and looked at Spencer’s face, which was red with anger or desperation I couldn’t tell, but brought my lips down on his dick regardless. He grunted at the sensation, and I could feel the heat radiating off of him. I swirled my tongue around him until I couldn’t anymore, opting to just trace a protruding vein instead. I started to hollow out my cheeks when he bucked up into me, forcing me to take all of him in at once. He groaned when I started gagging around his length, and when I coughed after pulling off him, he had the audacity to laugh.
“Having trouble there, Jailbird?” Spencer smugly asked. I looked down at his length laying against his stomach and saw that it was a deep red, and had to have been painfully hard at that point. With that in mind, along with my recent release, I crawled over him.
I looked at him as I hovered my pussy just above his cock. “I wouldn’t be worried about me. I’d be worried about how you’re gonna take care of yourself with your hands cuffed if I decided I’m done with you.”
That threat wiped the smug look right off his face. I was already wet again, and allowed him to only barely feel what was waiting for him if he behaved, lowering myself down so his length was just brushing my lips.
His face contorted and then he said the word of my victory, “Please.”
Taking hold of his cock in one hand, I lined myself up, and slowly sunk down. He filled me up completely, a bit thicker than I remembered, and I sat comfortably in his lap. This was clearly what Spencer wanted, but there was no way in hell it was going to be that easy. I just sat there looking at him, and based on the crazed look on his face, he was expecting me to start moving immediately.
We stared each other down for a moment before his whole body jerked forward, hands yanking on the cuffs. It was my turn to laugh at his pathetic struggles, but I still didn’t have quite what I wanted yet. Raising my hips up, I quickly slammed them down, pulling the loudest groan I’d heard from Spencer. When I didn’t move again, he started squirming underneath me, and I asked, “What is it you want me to do, Mouse?”
Then he broke, his strangled pleas music to my ears, “God, fuck me, please, just fuck me!”
I grinned as I captured his lips in a vicious kiss, pulling his bottom lip between my teeth. Steadying myself with my palm on his chest, I lifted my hips up, only to let them fall back into his lap. I started slower than either of us wanted, letting myself adjust to his full size before bouncing freely on his dick. The sounds of our heavy moans filled the air, sweat collecting on our bodies.
I was honestly surprised at how long Spencer had lasted when he let out one final shriek before coming undone below me. He’d given up, completely relaxed on the floor as I started chasing my second orgasm. Spencer peered up at me through hooded eyes, and soon enough starting letting out cries, and I knew I was pushing him. I didn’t want to completely overwhelm him but I was so close…
I wouldn’t get there, not yet anyway, because Spencer did something I was not expecting. The couch hit the floor with a loud thud, giving Spencer the freedom to move his arms. He wrapped the chain of the cuffs around the back of my neck and flipped me over in one swift motion, almost identical to how I’d just done it to him.
I was completely caught off guard, and let a surprised squeak leave my lips. I was almost impressed. Almost.
As if he could see straight into my mind, Spencer remarked, “I’m a quick study.” His entire body weight was over me, and there was very little wiggle room for an escape.
I followed Spencer’s eyes as he scanned around the room, glanced at his wrists, then sighed when he spotted his pants. Must’ve been where he put the key.
I raised my pitch and snidely sang like a schoolgirl, “Whatcha gonna do Mouse? You gonna fuck me like the inmate you are, or are you gonna free yourself, hm?”
Pressing his hands down on either side of my perfectly laid out ones above my head, the chain between the cuffs digging into my forearms, he chided, “I’m sure I can handle you just fine with them on. I’m not quite done with you yet, Jailbird.”
My walls fluttered around his cock at the gravelly sound of his voice and the threat that accompanied it. It’s as if he’s chained to me. I shuddered happily at the thought.
“Is that what this is about?” Spencer hissed, clearly catching my pleased look and the way my pussy pulled him in a little more at his harsh words, “You just enjoy seeing me as some twisted killer?”
“I enjoy seeing you for who you truly are.”
I wasn’t able to form another coherent thought after that one, the pace Spencer was pounding into me like one I’d never felt. He fucked his cum from only seconds ago back into me, the wet sound of our mixing fluids filling the room. I could barely focus on where his hands had moved to, teasing my nipples, because the fire between my legs was jumping higher and higher. As it finally burned through me in the sweetest way possible, I reached to grab onto anything, the first thing my fingers found being Spencer’s hair. He growled when I tugged, but his pace never let up.
As I came down from my high, Spencer didn’t stop. The feelings were becoming too strong, too overpowering, pleasure bordering on pain. I tried to pull my hips away from his, but there was nothing I could do. To stop my squirming, he sat back slightly and pressed his large palms down on my hip bones. Moving also changed the angle he was slamming into me, now bottoming out with each thrust. I needed some reprieve.
“Spencer,” I whined, but there was a nothingness in his eyes.
His hands snaked up to my throat, applying massive pressure to my windpipe. “Is this what you wanted?” Spencer yelled, “Is this what you think I truly am?”
I was having trouble getting the air into my lungs, let alone respond. I wanted to force him to face his reality of being an ex-con, knowing how shitty it was to be on the inside and just letting me sit in there. A consequence of my own actions, but considering I was doing it to save him, I was looking for a little bit more effort on the getting out process.
But he’d left me in there. He didn’t care. He didn’t care despite the fact that he knew what I was going through, that I could tell he was still dealing with his own PTSD and not well, and that everything had changed for him. People looked at him and treated him differently. He was a different person. Corrupt. And he’d only been in there for not even three months.
I’d been in there for five times as long.
I wanted him to realize just how much damage him and his useless team were doing to me by not helping me get out. I wanted him to realize how fucked up that was, and how terrible of a person that made him. I wanted him to realize he was just as big of a monster as I was.
I accomplished that. But I underestimated how much darkness he’d really been holding back.
My head started to feel light, and I could tell I was on the brink of my third release. The sound of skin slapping skin was sinful and I couldn’t focus on anything other than the feeling of his tip hitting my a-spot, the way my legs were shaking around his body, the way the muscles in his back felt against my nails as I clawed them down it. My release came quicker than Spencer’s, who wasn’t too far behind me. His thrusts became shallower, as he spilled into me for the second time. It was as if all the energy had been drained out of me in an instant, along with my anger and hatred. Spencer rolled off of me, and I saw his figure weakly collapse to the ground.
It was an eerie calm, the sound of absolute nothingness, the only disturbance being our labored breathing.
I didn’t know how long it’d been when Spencer’s voice, the softest I’d heard it since the day’s start, whispered, “Are you okay?”
I glanced at him with a confused look. He let out a small sigh at my non response, collecting himself before walking over to his long forgotten pants for the cuffs key. After freeing his wrists, he walked back over to me and helped me up, ushering me to the bathroom.
I could tell he was examining me, but it wasn’t until I stood in front of the mirror that I realized why. “Look at those bruises around your neck, Jailbird. They suit you.”
The bruises were deep and already turning a nice purple. I scanned the rest of me finding more bruises on my hips, thighs, shoulders, wrists, and not to mention the bite mark on my collar. I scanned Spencer next, his only bruises coming from his wrists and the red marks I left on his back. “I wasn’t expecting that from you.”
He met my eyes in the mirror, “What were you expecting?”
I shook my head, “I don’t know.” I truly didn’t. I went into it knowing I wanted to force him to see everything he had, everything he was, but I guess I didn’t really think about what that would force me to see. My exhaustion started to give way to a heap of emotions, and a single, involuntary tear escaped my eye. Spencer brushed his fingers over my neck, simultaneously pulling my hair behind my shoulder.
He kissed the tender, bruised skin, and I remembered the times before, the times when it felt like we’d really been in love. I felt his breath on me as he mumbled, “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
I turned on my heels to face him, “You didn’t.”
I didn’t know what compelled him to confess what I never thought he would, but he sounded deeply ashamed when admitting, “I wanted to.”
“What stopped you?” I was genuinely curious. We’d hurt each other in the most extreme ways before today, getting the other sent to a cage in hell, betraying each other.
“I’m broken, but I’m not beyond repair, and hurting you would make me someone that I don’t want to be.”
I gave him a tired smile, and all I could muster was, “Pretty convincing.”
“I’m sorry if I scared you.”
“Don’t be, you didn’t. You couldn’t,” I assured him. It was the truth.
“I should’ve,” he bit, looking down at his hands, which were so delicately holding my waist I couldn’t be sure he was even touching me.
“Why?” I questioned, the seriousness evident in my voice, “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
He shook his head, and a stray curl or two tickled my forehead. “I could’ve.”
“I trusted you not to.” I clasped my hands together and rested them on his back.
Spencer’s shaky voice matched his glistening eyes as they locked with mine, “I just wasn’t sure. All I know is that I scare myself sometimes.”
I pressed my forehead against his own, “Well, then I guess we’re two people who have nothing to fear other than ourselves.”

Bad Religion
Pairing: Collin Hoskins x OFC Black!Reader (Shauna Lewis) Rating: T Requested: No, came to me while listening to Frank Ocean. Word Count: 772 Summary: Shauna goes to a party and is reminded that Collin is and always will be in love with someone else.
Tagging: @iknowthekoolaidflavor @wreakhavoconmacroissantdiggs @nikole-witha-k
Let me know if you want to be added to future Collin and Shauna fics
Tumblr media
Shauna sipped from her red cup while bobbing her head to the music. Collin has back home from jail for about a month, so they threw a welcome home party at Nancy’s. Shauna remembers the night that she got the call from Ashley that Collin was arrested. Between her, Nancy, and Rainey, they tried to bail him out but they didn’t have enough. After a year of being locked up, Collin was finally home. Shauna, Nancy and Miles were the only people to visit him while he was away, her more than anyone. Shauna would put money on his books, call him, and even send him books to read. Even after all of that, Shauna was still a friend to Collin. Her mom would question why she was doing all of that for Collin and Shauna would simply reply with “He’s Zan God father,” that’s what she told herself every time she put herself out there for him. She’s doing it for Zan. Shauna was pulled out her thoughts when she heard that laugh, her head shot up and there was Collin laughing at whatever Yorkie and Miles were arguing about. Shauna and Collin locked eyes and he smiled gently which immediately sent butterflies to her stomach. He started walking over and she could hear her heart pounding in her ears.
“Hey Shauna,” Collin greeted pulling you in for a hug. You returned the embrace, loving the way his arms circled around you. Just as quick as it started, it was over.
“Is that for me?” Collin asked gesturing to the card.
“Oh, um, yeah, it’s from Zan.” She said handing it to Collin “He made it for you.”
“Thank for coming, Shauna. I really appreciate it, everything.”
“You know I got you, Collin. If you’re still looking for a job, my Dad got some connections down at the post office.” Collin smiled warmly. Shauna loved the way Collin smiled, no matter how big or small it was, he smiled with his entire face.
“Thanks Shauna, between you and Miles, y’all really supported me. You’re like a sister to me,” Sister, Shauna tuned out everything else Collin said after that and kept replaying that sentence over and over. ‘You’re like a sister to me.’
“You know I always got you, Collin. Um I’m gonna go get some food.” Shauna said before walking off. It felt like she just got hit in the face with a piece of glass, she needed some water, no, something stronger than that. When she walked into the kitchen, that’s when she saw Val.
“Hey Shauna, I didn’t know you were coming,” Val said with a tight lipped smile
“Yeah, I just wanted to stop by, Zan made a card for Collin.”
“That’s cute,” Val said with a phony smile plastered on her face.
“How are you?”
“I’m good, actually do you know where Collin is? I have something important to tell him.” Please don’t let this bitch be pregnant, Shauna thought to herself
“You gotta tell me what?” Shauna cursed under her breath as Collin walked over to Val, she fought the urge to turn away when they kissed one another
“I have some good news, I was able to get you a job at Commander.”
“Oh shit, for real?”
“Yeah, I talked to my boss and he said he was down a mover and you can work with Miles.”
“Babe, you’re the best,” Collin beamed. Babe? She didn’t even visit him when he was locked up. Now after all these months, she gets him a job and she’s ‘babe’.
“It’s been fun guys, but I have to go pick up Zan,”
“You sure—-”
“Thanks for coming, Shauna. We appreciate it.” Val finished Shauna nodded her head and made her way out of the house. She tried to hold back her tears until she got in the car but in her haste, she ran into Ashley.
“Shauna, girl what’s wrong?”
“I’m fine. Just tired,” Ashley looked behind her and saw Collin and Val in the kitchen, she looked back at her friend with sympathetic eyes.
“Ash, I said I’m fine I gotta go pick up Zan.”
“Okay, call me when you get home.”
“Okay,” Shauna made her way out of the house as quickly she could. She didn’t want another person asking her what was wrong. When she finally got inside her car that’s when the tears came flowing down her face, she can’t believe she was so stupid. Collin is with Val no amount of phone calls, visits, or cards was going to change the fact that Collin and Val are a couple. The only person that needed to understand that is Shauna.

I get it pt. 2
Tumblr media
Part 2 of I get it. Apologies for the delay, I’ve been busy with school and college applications.
Stepping into the pre sinc this morning, something felt wrong. You had a sinking feeling in your stomach and your skin crawled. You’re assistant met you at your office door and had a look on her face that said it all. “Another one?” She nodded slowly.  A loud groan was heard from across the station. Plopping down at your desk you sighed, “Let me see the file.” She handed it to you and immediately recognized the markings. An unsolved case from 2015 at the BAU. “I’m calling the BAU, this is their case.”
“Prentiss.” You swallowed the lump in your throat and spoke, “Hey.” Prentiss’ eyes flew open. “Y/n?” The pit in your stomach grew. “Hey Emily, we need help. Remember the case from 2015 where the unsub would carve a cross with an eye onto the stomachs?” You shoved down your undying love for Emily as you switched into professional mode. She heard the switch in tone and her heart ached. She missed hearing your voice, not your work voice but your real voice. “Uh- yeah, why is he in your area?” Her voice was shaky and full of fear. “Yeah he’s gotten 2 now, I waited till it was serial.” The tension was high, a mix of anger, and unrequited love. Words left unsaid, “Y/n I-“ “No, don’t. You’ve had 2 years to call me, text me, write me and I got nothing. No apology nothing. Now, I’ve moved on, I’m sure you and Jay are fine. I want this case to be professional, it’s my first serial case as captain.” Emily was dumbfounded by the hiss in your voice. “I- I uh complain agree, also um, JJ and I broke up shortly after you left.” Your heart rate sped up. “She could tell I wasn’t in it 100% so she broke it off. She wasn’t angry or anything, she understood once I explained it to her and I wish you would let me do the same.” Your heart sank due to the pain and crack in her voice. You did that to her, “We’ll talk when you get here, wheels up.” She smiled at the last two words. “Wheels up.”
“Hey guys I’m Officer Carter, Captain is in her office,” A young man greeted the agents at the doors, “she’ll join y’all soon. We have you set up in here.” He pointed to a small conference with glass walls. With a small nod and quick introductions the team started to work, Spencer pulled out a stack of files from his bag, “What are those?” Carter obviously wasn’t aware of the BAU’s previous case. “We actually had this case a couple of years ago, it went cold until now.” Spender awkwardly nodded as he explained. “Oh.” Carter nodded slowly, “Uh I’m gonna find Cap.” He left silently.
“Okay so, Reid work on geological profile, Rossi and JJ go talk to the victim’s family, Alvez and Lewis go see the ME. Matt and I will start looking through the crime scene photos for any change in signature.” Emily gave orders, “ME is downstairs first door on the left.” You announced as you leaned against the door, a large smile on your face. It warmed your heart to see all of them again. “Y/n!” Reid practically screamed as he launched himself at you. You wrapped your arms around him and breathed in his scent. He has always smelled like pine and old books. Cologne always made his skin break out. When he finally pulled away similar moments were had with the rest of the team before Emily interjected, “We need to get to work guys.” She seemed happy and upset at the same time. Reid sat at the table and you stepped towards Em, “What are thinking so far?”
A few hours later, the team was on to something and Alvez and Reid went to check out a lead. You popped your head in the conference just to get an update before you heading to get a cup of coffee. The small break room looked a lot better than you first got there but you couldn’t help but make a mental list of things that need work every time you went in there. “This couch has Y/L/N all over it.” You looked at Emily who had apparently followed you. “Yeah, it’s-” “Oh my God! This is the couch from your place in DC.” She ran her hand on the armrest and the same memory flew into both your minds.
The snow was only falling harder as you sat and watched a bad Christmas movie. A knock on the door startled you. Slipping your slippers on you padded to the door, surprised when Emily was there. “Hey, can I uh, come in?” You nodded and moved out of her way. She walked in and sat on the couch, her coat lying on the coffee table. “What’s up?” You sat beside her noticing how the snow stuck to her hair and eyelashes. Her cheeks a rosy color. “I like you. A lot. Hotch won’t like it but-” You shut her up by smashing your lips onto her cold ones. Laying almost on top of her.
“I thought the officers deserved a nice place to relax in between calls. I swear Lousiana is, a shit show to say the least.” She chuckled and sat down, you following suit. “Y/n, I am so truly sorry. I was so eaten up by you leaving and, I still can’t forgive myself for,” She paused tapping her bottom lip with her tongue, and took a calming breath. “For what I did to you. I was young and stupid. I thought that if I could come out with JJ, it would be easier with someone I actually loved. It makes no sense to me now or anyone else. I’m so sorry.” Tears threatened to spring from both your eyes as her phone started to ring. Secretly you were grateful for it, scared of telling her that you have missed her every day since that night at the bar. “Prentiss, okay, fall back, we’re on the way.” She shot up, “Get your guys, it’s go time” You walked out the break room announcing names, “If your name was called, get your gear and let’s roll. The BAU has the lead on this.” Walking into your office you got your own gear following the SVU’s in your patrol car.
By the time the unsub was on the bus to prison, you had made up your mind to tell Emily how you were feeling. Rossi could see your anxiety rising, ‘What’s going on in there? We got him, you can go back to drunken arguments and robberies.” You both chuckled, You leaned against a desk and sighed, “I miss the BAU. A lot. I just don’t know, everything with Emily.” Rossi took a deep breath, “Well they might need you. I’m stepping down from my position as sergeant. I’m still gonna be at the BAU.” A face of shock took over your face. “Prentiss is gonna need someone to fill my spot, and I know the team misses you.” You peered over at them packing up files and joking with each other, the mood much lighter now. “Just think about it.’ With that he went to help, Prentiss approaching you. “Can I ask you something?” She scrunched her eyebrows, “I hesitate to say yes, but yes.” She stood directly in front of you, “Did you still move into that apartment?” She slowly nodded, knowing that was leading to another question. “Is there still room for me and Ham?” Happiness flooded her veins, you were asking to come back to the BAU and be with her again. Emily couldn’t form a word so she just leaned into you and softly kissed you instead. The team and officers whooping, “Cap getting some!” You smiled and Emily flashed her famous, showstopping smile.
Two months later you and your french bulldog were moved into the apartment and you were moved into your office in the BAU. Rossi insisted that he take an office down the hall and you take his. Sitting in your desk chair you could hear JJ, Garcia, and Morgan teasing Reid. A knock at the door made you smile, “Come in.” Prentiss walked in holding a vase of flowers, “Congratulations on your own office in the FBI.” You stood up taking the flowers from her, setting them on the desk, and turning around to press a breath-taking kiss on her lips. She wrapped her arms around you waist, “What was that for?” You smiled, “I’m just happy to be back, and that JJ doesn’t hate my guts.” Emily swatted your hand, “Don’t say that, she could never, plus I think she slept with that Officer La-Mon-Goose.” You cackled, “LaMontange honey.” You felt as though the world was right again. You finally got it.

Ok so quick note, thanks to @wonderofasunrise whose blog I found these prompts on and thus which proceeded to steal. this is no. 11. :)
Excuse for being lazy: also yes this is only meant to be short so like sorry for not expanding on things at all. Perhaps I shall make up for that next time ;)
This is set in s8 around wintery times.
Please enjoy :3
“I thought I would be okay with just being friends but… All I can think of when I’m around you is how badly I want to kiss you and how I can’t do that anymore.”
Kerry lay quietly, her cheek resting on Susan’s chest, her eyes shut in a warm, pensive bliss – two souls in harmony.
Their illicit affair had begun as a matter of surprise to them both; after a night of heavy drinking and deep confessions they awoke the next morning sharing a bed, and what had started as a one-night stand became a regular thing after replicating the original night twice over.
Not only had their sexual relationship grown in a way that neither could have imagined, but an understanding, a friendship had also developed which had allowed themselves to trust wholeheartedly and without the fear of judgment for the first time in a very long time.
Kerry had indeed gotten accustomed to arriving home and finding Susan outside waiting for her, she had started to prepare dinners big enough for two in anticipation of an inevitable phone call asking to spend the night. Everything was falling into place. Therefore, it could never have lasted.
“I think we should end it.”
Whatever ‘it’ was. The nebulous nature of their relationship was growing all too much for Kerry, because, to tell the truth, she had fallen.
She didn’t think that there had ever been a time when she wasn’t in love with Susan Lewis, but to have been finally exposed in full to that euphoria, to live out her long-term dream, one she’d barely registered before now, was bittersweet…when she knew that Susan would never, could never requite what she felt inside.
Susan was surprised at the statement. She had never really thought about ending it, actually ending it. To be honest, since this whole thing started, she hadn’t really thought about anything at all. She knew that they were never going to be a “they”, Kerry Weaver and Susan Lewis: ER Power Couple, but she couldn’t help feel a little, disappointed at the idea of losing her? Although, she wasn’t really going to be lost, just not there in the same way. It just seemed really random, why now? Had she been planning this for a while? It was going well, she had thought, but knowing Kerry perhaps to her this wasn’t right. Anyway, best to end things whilst they’re good right? She clung to that thought in the hope that it might fill the suspicious hole she felt deep down in her chest.
The two promised to stay friends, it’s always nice to have an ally. And Susan was just fine with that, one-hundred-percent completely fine.
“23-year-old male, multiple head lacs, altered, LOC, vitals stable, BP 120/80,” announced the new EMT Danielle as she tried to shake her overgrown fringe out of her eyes.
It was just then as Susan and Kerry approached to take the trauma that the man in question lent over and wretched blood all over Danielle’s jacket causing Kerry and Susan to jump back a little before grabbing the sides of the gurney so that she could sort herself out. The man started to lose consciousness again as they raced to get him inside.
Danielle shed her jacket leaving it on the tarmac of the ambulance bay revealing a white vest and tattoo sleeves before she continued her debrief whilst following the pair to the trauma room, “Received 50 of Lidocaine at the scene, complains of dizziness and neck pain,” she continued.
As they entered the trauma room Susan finally took a look at the woman speaking and what said woman was wearing, “Nice top,” she said her eyes lingering a little bit too long.
“Thanks,” replied Danielle looking down at herself briefly before smiling to show her gratitude.
“LIFT ON 1, 2, 3!” Kerry ordered loudly cutting their little interaction short.
And as Susan lent over to start working on the man she felt Danielle put something small into her pocket whispering, “I’ll see you later.”
She stared as the woman left the trauma room only to look back around to see Kerry watching her icily.
After the man was stabilised, Kerry and Susan left the trauma room ripping their gloves and their aprons off as they did so before tossing them into the trash.
They both started in the same direction, practically colliding, Kerry extending an arm to institute a satisfactory, colleague-appropriate space between them.
“Tough trauma.”
“Yeah, I s’pose…Hey, did I tell you that Susie went to see that film they’ve all been talking about, Shrek(?) the other day, oh my god I have not heard her be so excited about something in months, and the way she talked about the donkey in it you would think that the two were going out, but alas no. Apparently, he is indeed taken by a dragon as is so often the case with actually desirable men,” she ranted enthusiastically putting on a heightened English accent to emphasise the slander.
Kerry listened quietly as she felt Susan’s words dig into her further and further, she should be happier for her, she knew that, but everything was closing in on her and she didn’t like it.
They entered the Doctor’s Lounge and as soon as the door shut behind them and it was clear to Kerry that no one else was in there, she started, “Listen, I don’t wanna make a big deal outta it but I just wanted to let you know that it’s considered a little inappropriate to get distracted by pretty EMTs when working a trauma at least from a management perspective, now as it’s never happened before obviously it’s not a problem but just so you know for any future interactions that they should be left till after you’ve finished working on the patient.”
Susan’s smile failed immediately at the mini reprimand. “Kerry it was nothing I promise.”
“Uhuh – well even if that is the case it’s still inappropriate,” Kerry said pointing her nose in the air.
Kerry’s stiffness on the subject angered Susan who huffed before retorting, “And even if it WAS something I don’t think that’s any of your business, you know Kerry Weaver, not everything is about you I realise, ok, that you’re the only person in YOUR world but that’s not the same for the rest of us,” as she raised her voice, she stepped closer and closer to Kerry refusing to break eye contact for a second.
Kerry was frozen in place, her lip quivering slightly and her eyes conveying only a hint of pain and fear behind their broken shields.
They were practically toe-to-toe, and their proximity almost immediately caused Susan to calm down as if her body was anticipating Kerry’s touch, Kerry’s smell, Kerry’s warmth.
The electricity burning Kerry’s skin as her beloved towered over her, not knowing, never knowing, what those words meant to her. Why although dealing with hurtful comments was part of the job, was always part of the job, they felt different coming from her.
But as cupid’s taunting strings gradually lured them together, the door burst open loudly causing the women to practically jump out of their skin in order to create distance between them.
It was Chuny; “Doctor Weaver there’s a guy wandering around the admit desk I think he’s your patient, Mr. Reid?”
“Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute Chuny,” Kerry replied a little too shrilly, her eyes still fixed on Susan. She stayed there for a few more seconds before finally awakening in herself the willpower to sort out the wanderer.
As the last sounds of her crutch hitting the floor faded away into the dissonant noise of the ER Chuny joked, “Did you just have it from Weaver, I bet you didn’t miss those in Phoenix!” before closing the door and leaving.
But ‘missing Weaver’ was really the only thing Susan was able to do at that moment, she turned towards the window to wipe away a tear. Then, she shook herself from head to toe, set her face back to neutrality and spun around so she could go back to work.
Kerry stood alone, her arms restless as if they were missing something, or someone, her kitchen echoing with emptiness. As she stared half-heartedly at the risotto she was making she heard a buzz followed by three rapid knocks. Kerry pulled herself out of her reverie, grabbed her crutch and headed over to the front door.
Upon opening, she saw Susan shivering in a short tan trench coat, her arms wrapped around herself, her right foot tapping the ground beneath her. When she heard the click of the latch she lifted her head and the expression Kerry saw sent a shiver through her, Susan’s eyes were wide and deep inside them there seemed to be some sort of lingering discomfort.
“Hey,” she said shyly before pulling the door to and stepping out into the cold winter’s night also, “What are you doing here?”
“Um…I’m not sure to be honest,” was the esteemed reply.
“Aren’t you cold? Do you want t-”
“Kerry there’s something I have to say and if I don’t say it now, I don’t think I ever will so.”
“Uh…ok, um, go right ahead.”
“I’m so tired, of all this of going to back to the old normal, whatever the hell that was, you know I-” she broke off, her voice cracking slightly as her emotions started to get the better of her, “I thought I would be okay with just being friends but…All I can think of when I’m around you is how badly I want to kiss you and how I can’t do that anymore. And even when you’re mad and being a bitch, I just want to hold you because then I know everything’ll be all right.” And on those final words she broke down, it could have been the cold, it could have been the pressures of moving back to a town where no one really remembered her, but in that moment, it didn’t matter what the exact cause was because her Susan was upset and it yanked at her heartstrings.
The women stood there silently, Susan looking at the floor and Kerry looking at Susan, frozen in light of the revelation, trying to calculate what best to do. When Kerry still didn’t say anything, Susan raised her head once more to look at her and being met only with an unreadable, blank expression, she felt she could take a hint.
Not wanting to stand in the scene of her rejection any longer Susan said, “Goodnight,” in a dejected, barely audible voice before turning around and heading down the steps leading up to the house. And it was this that triggered Kerry’s ability to move once more.
“Wait!” she called out, as she reached her hand out for the banister and tried to rush down the stairs, but her hurriedness and the light frost worked against her and as Susan turned around Kerry practically tumbled into her arms.
And at this intimacy, there was only one thing left for them really, because love doesn’t require logical thinking, sometimes all it needs is an impulse.
Kerry pulled herself up muttering a word of thanks before running her hand through Susan’s hair and slowly, softly bringing her down for a kiss.
And as a thousand fireworks went off in their minds, they simultaneously knew that “they” would last forever.

the secret of us , chapter four.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
a couple of hours later you are at home getting ready with your friends to go out but you cant help it when your eyes briefly scan the piece of paper that lewis gave you.
your cheeks burn as you remember the interaction but you know better that nothing can become of it yet you slip the piece of paper into your purse along with your lip gloss and keys.
once you arrived at the club you followed your friends to the bar where you all bought a round of shots. a couple of hours later you find yourself on the dance floor swaying from side to side with a beer in your hand to the music.
although the main purpose of tonight was to forget him you couldn't help but think about the way his eyes latched onto yours or when your hands brushed when he slipped you his number.
you stop dancing and gulp thinking about it. you look around in the mob of people only to find your friends no where to be found. your first instinct was to find your purse of course which luckily you had but you were distraught to find that your phone was gone.
you put a hand over your mouth in worry and groan as you have a horrible headache from all the alcohol and truthfully it is even hard to stand without feeling dizzy. you sigh as you go to walk outside to go catch some air.
the streets were near quiet and you longed to know what time it was. you bite your lip before taking one last look in your purse only to find the one thing you were trying to avoid. lewis's number. you chuckle realising that you rly have no option since you honestly have no clue of any of your friends numbers and no money for a taxi.
a man nearby is txting on his phone so you go and give it a shot.
"um sry is it okay if i use your phone for one second"
the guy looks up and looks at you weirdly but once noticing that you were desperate he sighs and hands you the phone.
"thank you so much i wont be long"
the man grunts in response. you walk a few metres away and start typing in his number. just as you are about to dial you question why are u doing this? surely there is someone else? but you know right well that there isn't.
you dial and the line starts ringing.
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
lewis is sat in a bar with most of the grid sat beside george as he laughs at another joke he made. lewis looks at the clock seeing that it is nearly 2am and sighs.
as he looks around at the decor he feels his phone vibrating in his pocket which is obviously unsual at this hour. he pulls out his phone and sees that it is an unknown caller, his first unstinct is to block but there is only few people who had his number and now you being on of them. he smiles softly to himself realising it could be you.
"hey you okay man?" george asks
"um ye um i got to take this real quick" he says trying to hide his smile.
george nods but narrows his eyes as he notices lewis happy demeanour which was not often seen only on the rare chance he was with someone. george smiles to himself.
lewis walks outside and answers.
"hi"
"oh um hi lewis its me um yn"
"you just couldnt last that long without hearing my voice again"
you blush and chuckle "um well.....no not exactly um...i"
lewis notices your shaky speech. "hey um you okay? he didn't hurt you again did he??"
you let out a sarcastic laugh. "um you know what no im actually not okay you see um this is not even my phone, i lost it, my friends ditched me here at this club, and i had a few too many beers and i feel like shit and now im calling this cute guy that gave me his number because i literally have no one else"
"shit im sry but if you need a lift i can get my driver to pick you up if u want"
"are u sure i dont want to be a burden" you ask running a hand through your hair.
"you're not a burden don't worry and now i can get an excuse to leave this horrible bar"
you groan. "oh god im so sry i totally forgot that george told me he was going out tonight"
at the mention of george you both go quiet.
"please don't mention this to george he would actually kill me if he knew"
lewis nods and looks in the window at his teamate filled with guilt. he looks away. "okay".
"can you send me your location?" lewis breaks the silence with his question. you do as he requests.
"okay ill be there in 20"
༘˚⋆𐙚。⋆𖦹.✧˚
the cold brisk air nipped at your feet and you couldn't help but shiver in instinct. your eyes scanned the main road waiting for lewis.
momentarily a black limo pulled up and not to your surprise lewis jumped out and looked around frantically for you.
once he had spotted you he sighed in relief and made his way over to you.
"oh thank god you're okay"
you smile shyly at him but you are so utterly exhausted that you can't even utter a word.
lewis catches onto this and nods in understanding. he takes the jacket from around his shoulders and places it on your own. your cheeks redden, his familiar smell wafting into your nostrils.
lewis guides you to the car, opening the door for you, making sure that you are comfortable before going around the otherside and getting in himself.
"you're staying at the same hotel as all the other drivers right?" lewis asks looking over at you to confirm his query. you nod in response before deciding to devote your attention the scenic views of the city.
the moonlight that shone on your face enamoured lewis and he kept glancing at your hand which lay palm facing upwards. he wanted to place his own ontop of yours and intertwine your fingers. he watched as you unwinded the window so that your hair flew ascrew across your face. he wanted to trace your cheek and pull your hair away from your eyes. his eyes scanned your face and watched as your tooth latched onto your lower lip.
his chest constricted when you looked over at him giving him a weird and confused expression.
"why are you looking at me like that?"
"like what?"
"like u want me"
lewis's eyes widen and he chuckles. "you're drunk y/n".
you roll your eyes. "well done for stating the obvious handsome".
lewis narrows his eyes and looks at you. "don't call me that"
"aw i thought you liked that" you say pouting.
lewis shakes his head. "fuck y/n pls stop messing with my head. we both know that sober you would never ever do this shit"
you chuckle. "well that's the fun of it". you take your hand and begin to trace up his arm but he pulls it away.
as the car begins to slow lewis sits up straight. "looks like we are here"
you groan, a sudden rush of nausea hitting you again.
lewis hops out and heads around to your side of the car and opens your door for you.
"are you okay to walk?"
you look up at him and then back down at your feet, you can already feel the blisters forming and your legs feel like jelly.
"um yeah i'll be fine"
you go to stand up but immediately fall and lewis supports his arm around you.
"you sure about that?" lewis chuckles. "god you are so stubborn"
"here sit down so i can take these off" lewis instructs as he points to your heels.
he glares at you and you obey. lewis gets down on his knees as he begins to unbuckle your heels. your heart is racing as his fingers brush the side of your leg. sure your head was woozy and you were most likely not going to remember this in the morning but when lewis looked up at you, holding your pair of heels in his hand you wanted nothing more than to kiss the shit out of him.
lewis eyes your feet and notices a trickle of blood coming from your heel. "fuck y/n you could have told me you were in pain" he says frustrated with you.
"i'm sorry" you mumble "i just didn't think you would care that much".
lewis shakes his hand and brings his hand to his forehead. "i care abou y/n okay so please don't keep anything from me, you can trust me i promise".
his words seem so sincere and his hand on your thigh is comforting in a way.
"okay?"
"okay" your reply.
lewis looks at the hotel. "what floor are you on?"
"oh god um i think it's 24 or 25 fuck idk i'm sorry"
"it's okay i'll figure it out"
lewis wraps his arms around you and lifts you up into his arms.
"what are u doing"
"i'm carrying you because you are certaintly not walking that distance"
you want to protest but don't.
lewis carries you up multiple flights of stairs before you make it to your door.
lewis allows you to get out of his grip as he tries to open the door. he takes a credit card from his wallet and uses it to unlock the door. shockingly it worked.
lewis helps you into the room and sets you down onto the bed. he watches as you collapse onto the bed and lay there in a ball. your dress begins to ride up and he quickly looks away.
"y/n sweetheart you have got to get changed i don't want you to be uncomfortable and also your makeup"
you groan in reponse, too tired to function.
lewis sighs. "come on i'll help you". lewis helps you sit up and you rub your eyes trying to rub your eyes free of sleep.
you sit up reluntantly. "um my pyjamas are in the top drawer over there" you mumble pointing the to top dresser.
lewis opens the drawer and picks out a set and throws it at you.
"thanks"
"um can you turn around real quick"
he coughs. "oh yeah yeah i'm sorry"
you change in the nick of time and then you are greeted by an awkward silence.
"you can go now" you say stifling a yawn.
lewis's eyes widen. "um okay....are you sure though?"
you hesitate but nod firmly. "you should get back to the guys"
"i don't really want to go back to them though" he admits with a shrug.
"then go home get some rest you had a long weekend" you suggest as a compromise.
"but i don't want to leave you here alone"
"but i'm always alone"
"yeah but you don't have to be"
"lewis...."
"please just let me stay"
"well you can sleep on the couch ig"
"thank you".
"no problem okay well um goodnight lewis and thanks for everything tonight it means alot".
lewis nods. "i'm here for you y/n whether you like or not".
you smile shyly and hop into bed as you watch him walk out of the room. it wasn't long before you had drifted off into a deep sleep.
lewis tossed and turned on the couch and the constant ticking of the clock bugged him. the light that emerged from your room enticed him. he couldn't stop thinking about you. part of him knew he was being crazy. he practically begged you to stay over and you hardly even knew eachother but even so he wanted nothing more than to be close to you.
lewis gets up and hovers outside your door before making a peek into your room. he smiles seeing your stoic figure in a peaceful sleep. upon spotting an armchair at the side of the bed he sat down in it as he kept a watchful eye on you. as the night passed his eyes fluttered and it wasn't long either before he had drifted off aswell dreaming about the company he had enjoyed that day and how he was hoping for many more days like today.

Date Night In Isolation
Harry Lewis (Wroetoshaw) X Reader
summary - The activities you and Harry get up to in quarantine.
warnings - second-hand embarrassment, swearing, my terrible writing
request - Could you do a harry lewis imagines where they live together (not necessarily dating) and are in quarantine, thought it would be cute Love your writing by the way xxx
Can I request a harry imagine where you’re in quarantine together and you keep stealing his clothes so the fans tease you if you’re streaming in one of his hoodies/ the guys tease him when you walk in the background of the podcast videos in one? Idk if that's any good but I need some harry fluff to get through this 😂💞
masterlist and request info :)
Tumblr media
You already stole his clothes anyway, the fans just never noticed. But with quarantine happening and you have nothing to do all day, you did a lot more livestreams and he had to record in your bedroom.
Fans were confused at first, seeing you in the background of a Sidemen video on Harry's cam, carrying a cup of water in for Harry. The Sidemen, however, found the situation hilarious.
"Is she your slave now Harry?" JJ had joked, pointing at the cup of water.
Harry rolled his eyes and gave you one of his earphones so you could hear the boys' comments.
"Hey there." You smiled at the group of friends.
"Harry didn't tell us you were isolating together," Ethan said, a smirk evident on his face.
"Fair enough, I wouldn't tell you lot anything either!" You teased lightly.
"So you guys must be a lot closer in isolation, aye?" Simon winked and nodded.
"Yeah, you pulling through, Harry?" Vik joined in the joke.
"All right, that's enough," Harry said sternly.
"Bet you're getting enough." Josh chuckled.
The boys let out chaotic noises, laughing at the innuendos. You giggled as Harry facepalmed.
"Fuck sake lads." Harry sighed.
"She's even wearing his hoodie! Harry, you are so wrapped around her finger." Ethan laughed.
"It's comfy!" You protested.
"Guys, leave the lovebirds alone," Tobi said with no real heat behind it.
"Thank you, Tobi, now I'm going to go finish my work." You took the earphone out after hearing a series of goodbyes from the boys. You kissed Harry's cheek and walked out of the room just to give the friends, even more, to tease your boyfriend over.
It continued when you did a live stream in the hoodie, fans were quick to point out that it wasn't your hoodie. You laughed at the comments, ignoring them, deciding it wasn't worth being talked about.
Harry happened to walk in which caused even more uproar in the fans comments, Harry just apologised but you shrugged moving over so he could join you.
The comments went wild, asking very private questions about your love life. You blushed at a few of the questions, clutching Harry's hand underneath the camera, squeezing it gently.
"'Are y'all quarantining together?'" You read. "Um, yeah, we are." You smiled, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
You saw that Tobi was watching the stream and had requested to join, you unravelled your hands and clicked on allow so Tobi appeared on the screen.
"Hey, Tobi." You smiled.
"Hey lovebirds!" Tobi grinned.
"What have you been up to today?" You ignored the nickname and instead asked.
"Just cleaning, recorded a video, did a run."
"Harry, dinner's almost done!" You called.
"Okay!" Harry set grabbed plates and set them on the side and got out sets of cutlery. He set the table and grabbed the bottle of gin and poured two glasses for the two of you. He filled both of your glasses with gin and lemonade.
You poured some of the pasta on the plate and sliced the garlic bread to put it on the plate. You took the two plates as Harry grabbed the plate of garlic bread. The two of you sat at the table and raised your glasses.
"Spending time with each other and loving every second." You tapped your glass against Harry.
The two of you started eating and talking about whatever came to your head. Suddenly, Lux opened the door and stormed in with his vlog camera out.
"These two kicked me out for date night!" He exclaimed. "I think they want to rub in the fact that I'm single even during quarantine!"
You laughed alongside Harry as you said, "There's some pasta leftover if you want some." You chuckled.
"Yes please!" Lux grinned at you and grabbed a small bowl. "I hope I'm not disturbing." Lux grinned and then started noisily, purposely disturbing the two of you. You looked up and smirked up at him, cocking an eyebrow. Lux laughed and swiftly exited the room. You turned back to face Harry who sent you a guilty smile
You laughed and continued eating, talking about a conversation you had with your sister earlier on. Harry listened intently, giving you his entire attention. Once you finished, you let out a gasp and grabbed Harry's hand and pulled him out of his seat. Harry chuckled at your antics and you pulled him to the bedroom. You laid down on the bed and pulled Harry down to lay down next you. Harry settled beside you and kissed you lightly, snuggling into your side. You stroked his hair softly and turned on a movie.
The two of you laid silently in bed as the movie played. You had chosen The Good Dinosaur. You continued to stroke Harry's hair which caused him to sigh contently.
By the time it got to the end of the movie you were crying lightly. Harry looked up and laughed at you.
"It's sad!" You exclaimed. "He's going to see his family! They're reuniting!"
Harry chuckled again and started to stroke your thigh to comfort you. You giggled at him as you both continued to cuddle. The two of you eventually fell asleep how you planned, together. The two of you were a young couple with a lifetime full of love ahead of you.

Earth 5620 - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Summary: When fractures start appearing across the world, S.W.O.R.D. and S.H.I.E.L.D. work together to create a team of...specialists. It’ll take them coming together to stop two dimensions from colliding.
Word Count: 2604 words
Warnings: Um, none that I can think of?
Marvel Kiddos
A/N: I haven’t written anything on here in a WHILE. So I hope you like it. :)
--
January 15th. Seattle. Washington
Covert. That was what they were supposed to be in this moment. Calm, cool, collected. Gathering information because this was a clusterfuck. They were waiting for higher-ups. That was their orders. Still, when she got the call, this wasn’t what she had expected.
A split between dimensions.
Cracked – but who swung the hammer? Who manipulated the reality?
Boots scuffed against concrete as she reached for it. The best way to learn was to discover. That was what she always believed and now seemed just as good a time as any to practice that idea.
“Director Carter.”
Sharon sighed. Her hand dropped to her side as she turned to see who S.W.O.R.D. had sent to help. “It’s not exactly comforting when they send in their best, Captain Rambeau.”
Monica smirked. She loved being sent in. Desk work did her no good and she figured the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the same way. “What is it?” She gestured to the crack. No, Fracture. Definitely a Fracture. It was too big. Too noticeable to be anything else.
“Was hoping you could tell me. This area is more your specialty, don’t you think?”
Her smirk grew into a smile as Sharon gave her a knowing look. It was true. S.H.I.E.L.D. specialized in super soldiers, arrogant billionaires, and things like vibranium. Mutants too, but that was because of Sharon’s aunt. There was a special interest there for them.
S.W.O.R.D. handled the weird and freaky. Things that had no real explanation. Infinity Stones…Alternate Realitiess? Or Aliens? Powers that were more than genetics and Masters of the Mystic Arts? That was Monica’s area.
There was a mutual respect between the two. One neither woman would ever dare to overstep even if their specialties chose to intertwine.
She turned her attention back to the Fracture, circling it. However, as she reached its side, the crack vanished. “It’s two dimensional.” She glanced at Sharon who mirrored her movements.
Sure enough. It was like looking through a window.
“I’ll get my men to do some readings.” Monica was already heading back to the vehicles, knowing her men were waiting on an update. “Let’s see if there’s anything on the other side.”
Surprisingly quiet, Sharon couldn’t take her eyes off the anomaly. As interesting as “another side” sounded, she had to wonder –
Was this the only occurrence?
March 19th New Orleans. Louisiana
“We need to stop meeting like this.”
Monica’s gaze shifted from the Fracture to her newest guests. “Director Carter.” She didn’t move from her spot on the ground. The reactor in her hand was still struggling to get a reading. The last thing she needed was to mess that up. “This is only the second, remember?”
“Yeah, but I’m worried about the lack of information.”
Monica sighed. Passing off the reactor to a S.W.O.R.D. operative, she rose to her feet and walked around the Fracture. It was at least twenty feet long – more than twice the size of the one in Seattle. And she wasn’t the only one to notice. She joined Sharon’s side and only just noticed the worry on Sharon’s face. It was etched so deep in her features, as strong and unwavering as diamond. Monica understood her fear. Truly.
Things had grown considerably calmer since Thanos was destroyed. This sparked problems and no one had a clue how big they were. The questions were surpassing their answers and it was enough to make both women feel ill.
“Let my specialists work, okay? If a third pops up, we’ll talk about a POA. But right now, it could be a coincidence. We got a lot of them in this line of work.” With a gentle nudge and a friendly smile, Monica reminded her, “You know that.”
“The last time we believed something was a coincidence, we had to learn the hard way that Hydra and Weapon X were one and the same.”
Monica winced. “Okay. Bad choice of words.” Looking back, she knew they should worry. At least a little. But she didn’t want to react yet. Sharon was always ready for a fight. And while Monica was too, there had been a fair amount of peace that she wasn’t ready to let go of.
Not yet.
May 7th. Boston. Massachusetts
Darcy couldn’t take her eyes off of it. It looked as if glass was breaking. In the middle of the air. It sounded ridiculous, she knew that, but it was an accurate description. This was something she would expect from an Asgardian visit. Instead – it was hovering in the middle of the Boston Public Garden. Appearing out of nowhere.
She’d guess it was at least a mile long and half a mile wide. It was huge.
“That looks weird.”
“You could say that again.” Darcy kept up her trek across the ridiculously huge park. She looked ahead and found the guy that had spoken. He wasn’t paying attention to anyone that had run away or the officers that were attempting to evacuate the park. He was completely wrapped up in the same thing she had been staring at. She joined his side. “Doctor Darcy Lewis – astrophysicist.”
He hadn’t realized she had spoken to him until she cleared her throat. Pulled from his thoughts, he glanced down at her and nodded. “Will.”
“You’re not scared of it?” Darcy raised a brow. Did he have a death wish?
Will chuckled. He propped his glasses on top of his head and gave her his full attention. His eyes – a splattering of rainbows and crystals – were almost impossible to look at. “I’m really good with weird.”
Behind them, just entering the park, Monica and Sharon slowed their run. It seemed their realization was mutual. This wasn’t just a couple cracks, or Fractures as Monica called them, this was something big. Very big.
Unable to tear her eyes away, Monica asked Sharon, “So you remember that POA I mentioned?”
She nodded. “I got a couple ideas. A few phone calls we can make.”
May 12th. Afghanistan. South Asia
He should be lifting spirits right now, being a leader. That was all that was on his mind. Hope was key – especially with the men and women. Their chance to go home had been prolonged for another five months. Five months with no contact for his soldiers. No way of reaching their families.
It was so much to ask of them. And instead of trying to give them hope, he was here. Why? He spared a glance across the room, recognizing the other guy. He was lower rank, but a specialist. His name – Benjamin couldn’t bring himself to remember it.
“You’re Master Sergeant Rogers, right?”
Benjamin couldn’t hide his surprise. There was no way. But as surprised as he was, he was also impressed. “Yeah. And you shouldn’t be talking.”
The specialist chuckled, shoulders shaking. “Our parents fought together.”
“How did you know? No one else – “
“Everyone knows. We just don’t say it.”
Benjamin huffed, nostrils flaring. He looked away only for a moment before remembering, “You’re Clint’s and Nat’s kid. Jensen, right?” He nodded and Ben shifted in his seat. “I’m sorry. About her – your mom, I mean.”
Jensen scoffed. “Look, we don’t have to get into that. I was just pointing out that we’re Superkids. That’s probably why we’re here.”
An awkward silence fell between them. Jensen, who had no interest in acknowledging the tension, simply stayed put. But Ben found himself counting the seconds, the minutes.
It took ten of them. Ten minutes of uncomfortable tension before the door finally opened.
The two stood, backs tense and hands poised, ready to salute whoever walked through those doors.
They hadn’t expected to see James Woo, FBI agent and overall awkward individual. He nodded, offering a curt smile as he said, “Hi.”
Ben and Jensen shared a look, hands already mid salute when Jimmy shook his hands.
“Don’t do that. Seriously. I’m here with a friend and we…Well, we need your help.”
Furrowed brows and confusion hung in the air. It seemed a million questions silently morphed over their features before they saw Jimmy’s friend enter behind him.
Ben smiled, recognizing her from many a training session. “Captain Rambeau.”
“Master Sergeant Rogers.” She smiled. “It’s been a while.”
“Just a decade or so.”
The two shared a laugh, easing a bit of the tension in the room. And while that was great for them, it left one person still in the dark. Jensen shifted from one foot to the other, raising a hand as if he had to be called on. “Look, reunions are great and all, but can I bring up the elephant in the room? Why’re you here?” He pointed to himself and Ben. “And why’re we?”
Monica huffed. “About that…”
Queens. New York
Flying through the air, an excited laugh tumbled from her lips. She landed on the fire escape with ease and released the webbing. Sparing one quick glance, fingers curled around her window and she crawled inside.
It fell shut behind her. With a sharp exhale, the mask was tugged off and her massive curls freed. Lena checked her appearance for a quick moment. Flipping her hair and nudging it with her fingers, she was satisfied enough. Next came removing the Spidersuit, replacing it with comfy, pink joggers and keeping the sports bra.
She was home. Extra effort didn’t have to be made in her attire.
“Lena!”
She squeaked, jumping a foot in the air when she heard her father’s voice. Normally, it was Lena’s mom shouting for her to do the dishes or some other boring chore. Her dad didnt yell. He didn’t like yelling. Grabbing her phone, she was quick to leave her room only to find herself particularly confused when she saw her dad wasn’t alone.
Well, at least the yelling made sense now.
“Dad?”
Peter looked up. That goofy smile of his, the one she had known all of her life, was staring right back at her. But it was different. Proud? Maybe that was the word? Not surprising. He was always proud of her. “Hey, how was school?”
“It was good.” Her eyes drifted back to the blonde. She was edgy in a weird sort of way. While Lena had grown up hearing how rough and tough her mom was, this woman was different. She redefined the meaning of the word. “Who’s this?”
“This is Sharon Carter. She’s the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
“Hey, Miss Parker.” Sharon offered a smile. It was enough to melt the edges away. She softened, but Lena didn’t buy it. It was too much. As if Sharon was trying to relate to her.
“Yeah, cool. What’s this about? I have homework.”
Peter leaned against the counter. “Since when do you care about homework?”
Lena pouted. Okay, that was fair. But she found herself taking a quick step back when Sharon walked around the dining table.  It was weird. She should trust her. Her dad did. But their histories in the Superworld were different. And this wasn’t a face she recognized.
“Is this you?”
Lena’s gaze shifted from Sharon’s face to the clip on her phone. It was her in her Spidersuit, swinging in and out of those random cracks that had appeared in the MoMa in Queens and the Brooklyn Museum. According to the news, a couple more had popped up in New Jersey and California. She shrugged. “Um…yeah. No one had closed them off yet.”
Sharon’s face morphed into that of amusement. She zoomed out on the clip, showing the warnings and Agents that were securing the area or had just finished.
A blush tinted Lena’s cheeks as she looked from parent to agent and back again. “Am I in trouble?”
Sharon shook her head as Peter grinned from ear to ear. “Far from it actually. If it’s okay with you, I’d really appreciate your help.”
May 20th. S.W.O.R.D. Headquarters
Terrance’s fingers impatiently drummed on the steering wheel. He really didn’t like this idea. He didn’t trust it. “Look I know Dad wanted us to help out Sharon ‘cause she’s family, but we don’t know anything about these guys.”
“Sure we do.” Sasha’s small smile didn’t reach her eyes. She didn’t like it either. She definitely didn’t trust it. “We’ve known Sharon since Dad and Papa adopted us. And neither of them would send us anywhere they didn’t think was safe.”
Terrance parked the car, getting out as Sasha followed suit. “I’m just saying, there are a lot of other big-name heroes they could be calling. This isn’t our territory.”
“And I couldn’t agree more, but I did my research. S.W.O.R.D. helped take down Weapon X and Hydra. They played a big part in bringing our parents back. We can do this.” She looked at Terrance. “But I’m not going in if you aren’t.”
He looked at the massive building, having to crane his neck. It was huge. Gaudy. Too much for people who were supposed to be blending in to do good. “They just want our abilities, Sash.”
“Maybe. But what if they need us?”
His distaste shifted to a plain, old grimace that he had given his sister one too many times. “I hate when you do that.”
She laughed. “And I love it.”
The two stepped inside the building. It was too bright. Too clean. Neither of them liked it, but they had grown used to this being “normal” for these types of organizations. You must look good to do your job. At least that was what these groups shoved down their throats.
“Maggie!” Sasha immediately brightened at the sight of her old friend making her way towards them.
“Hey, guys.” Smile unwavering, Maggie tackled the two in a hug. It made Sasha soften, but Terrance was still tense. Some things never change. “Guessing it was Uncle Bucky that talked you into this?”
“More Dad actually,” Terrance told her.
Though surprised, Maggie appreciated that Sam had managed to do this. “Well, I’m just glad to see two familiar faces,” she admitted. “C’mon. I was just heading towards Monica’s office.”
--
The screaming could be heard far before they actually reached the door. Terrance grimaced, already looking at Sasha as if she owed him for getting him here. Who could have caused such a huge fight when they weren’t even there yet?
And hearing so many voices, he had to wonder – how many people had they asked for help?
“Um, I think we’re in here.” Maggie grabbed the door. With a sharp tug, she held it open for them and gave them a peak of the chaos inside.
Overlapping voices, overwhelmingly loud. A girl in a green Spidersuit hung from the ceiling with no intension of coming down. A blonde guy, super tall and screaming “Captain America” vibes was currently holding back a smaller, brunet.
That was the guy doing most of the shouting. And it wasn’t to everyone. No. It was to one guy. He was arrogant, smirking because he clearly held the power. He wasn’t shouting. He didn’t feel the need to. Instead, he shrugged and waved to the newest additions in the room.
One guy currently being shielded by two familiar faces. Monica and Sharon. They were desperately trying to calm down the screaming guy.
And then there was the last one – standing by the door. He looked over his shoulder, nodding to Terrance, Sasha, and Maggie. “Glad you could join us.”
Terrance shook his head, his elbow hitting Sasha’s rib. She hissed, rubbing her side as she muttered, “Ow.”
He gave her the look. That look that every sibling gave when they truly meant what they said next. “You owe me.”

Babymoon-Mini Imagine
Tumblr media
Ok so I promise every post this man makes I’m not gonna make a story about so it’s not like this is gonna be a regular thing lol. I’ve just really been in the writing mood and wanted to post some quick things if that’s ok 😊.
“Hi baby! How’s everything in there?,” Lewis asks in a whisper, gently rubbing your small bump. “Me and your mommy can’t wait for you to get here so you can enjoy vacations too! Then while she’s sleeping, you can come train with me-“
“How about no training until 10?,” you answer peaking over the white comforter to see him lying next to your stomach. “Looks like we’re busted PB,” he smiles before lightly kissing all over your stomach and making you giggle.
“So what’s the plan for today tour guide?,” you ask sitting up, followed by Lewis excitedly climbing out of bed to do a full run down of his suggestions.
“Ok so I was thinking we go to this market that I know you’re gonna love and site see a bit and then come back and hang out around the room. I don’t want you getting too exhausted from everything.”
“Sounds good! And babe I haven’t been nauseous in a couple days, I think I’m fine you don’t have to worry,” you answer, hand caressing your protruding abdomen.
Since the moment you both found out you were expecting, Lewis was extra protective of you making sure to follow every order and suggestion the doctor made. Although he knew about the possible side effects you’d go through, you could see him grow a bit fearful every time you got sick.
Then there was the time you couldn’t seem to keep anything down for a whole day, which was completely different from what you had previously experienced. Lewis seemed to spend the whole day calling not only the doctor, but both his and your mom, as well as googling remedies that might help so you and his PB would feel better.
PB being short for Pillsbury Doughboy, since at the most recent ultrasound your baby kept curling up and reminding him of the giggly mascot, thus becoming your baby’s nickname.
“I know I shouldn’t worry, but I just want you both to be ok,” he smiles leaning down to kiss your forehead. “And we are! I feel pretty much back to normal besides my clothes fitting a bit tighter and me needing to pee a bit more,” you softly laugh followed by Lewis laughing along with you.
~~~~~~
After getting ready, you in an oversized shirt slightly tucked into your shorts paired with sneakers, and Lewis in his short sleeved button down, shorts, and converse, you both left your suite to begin sightseeing around Ko Samui.
Having visited there multiple times, he knew exactly which places to take you that you’d love. You explored some of the natural landmarks, and per his insistence being the photographer he is, you guys also took some pictures both separate and together.
As he suggested earlier, you paid a visit to a market he frequented whenever he was in town and tried all kinds of foods from various menus. While there, you also realized how popular Lewis was from him talking with pretty much everyone in the area and even playing with some of the stray dogs.
Momentarily distracting you, you follow a sugary scent to a crepe stand with many ingredients on the sign hanging in front of it. “I take it someone’s craving something sweet?,” he smirks wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“You and our child are gonna make me gain 20 pounds in the second trimester alone,” you laugh peering at all the different fruits and toppings on the wooden counter.
“Lewis?! I thought that was you!,” an older woman shouts coming towards the both of you and hugging Lewis and then you. You’d seriously think he was born and raised here from all the people he knew.
“And I’m happy to finally meet your beautiful wife!”
“Aww thank you so much, it’s nice to meet you too! Depending on if I can make it, you might be able to meet another member of the family next year,” you smile resting your hand on your belly.
“Oh my gosh congratulations you two! When are you due? Do you know what you’re having yet?,” she asks motioning you both to sit down at a nearby table with her. “Summer of next year and no not yet, but we should find out next month,” Lewis answers as you finish your fork full of dessert.
“Hopefully you all can make it so I can see what I already know is gonna be a gorgeous baby,” she smiles gently squeezing your hand. “I’m praying it won’t be a handful like someone here.”
“Hey I’m not that bad!,” he retorts, hand on his chest as if shocked by what she just said knowing that she was in fact telling the truth.
Giving you a knowing look, you take a bite out of your food before turning your head as if you didn’t hear anything, causing the old woman to laugh followed by you and Lewis.
~~~~~~
Sitting on the edge of the pool, you gently kick your legs back and forth watching the water ripple around them. Looking out to the ocean surrounding your suite, you watch the birds fly in the sky occasionally swooping down to try to get a fish, and the boats bobbing up and down trying to do the same.
Feeling the warm sun on your skin and hearing the soft rustle of the breeze hitting the palm trees nearby, you could almost lay back and go to sleep in that very spot. It was the first time in a while that you truly felt relaxed and could definitely say you were thankful to Lewis for bringing you so you could experience the island he loved so much.
“How you feeling?,” he asked sitting beside you with a bowl of a fruit in hand. “Relaxed and full,” you smile laying your head on his shoulder.
“I guess you don’t want any fruit then-,”
“I mean there’s always room for fruit though,” you interrupt, stopping him as he tried to stand up to take the bowl back in the kitchen and causing him to laugh.
“And how do you like the island?,” he asks wrapping a hand around your waist to rest on your stomach. “I love it, it’s so beautiful and peaceful! Honestly, I wish we could live here and not have to go back to LA, but I know that’s not gonna work well with our jobs and PB.”
“Yea that’s true, but hey maybe one day we could move here,” he answers kissing your temple. “And speaking of PB, what do you think boy or girl?”
“Hmm, I’m thinking a boy. What do you think?,”
“I say a girl, and if she’s anything like her mother, I’m gonna have an early heart attack from stress.”
“Oh no don’t pin that on me!,” you laugh looking up at him. “If that happens, she gets it from you because we both know who the wild one is between the two of us.”
“Woww you hear that PB? Your mom is so mean to me,” he responds, pretending to be hurt and making you jokingly roll your eyes. “Why don’t we make this more interesting with a wager? If it’s a girl I’ll get you whatever you want, WITHIN REASON, for a month, no questions asked.”
“Ok,” he nods, slowly dipping himself in the water and moving in front of you. “And if it’s a boy?”
“You get me whatever food I want at any time, no questions asked and no back talk.”
“Alright you have a deal,” he smiles shaking your hand, solidifying the bet.
“Um excuse me sir, what are you doing?,” you ask as he wraps your legs around him gently bringing you in the water with him. “You better not try anything funny Tan!”
Laughing as you bring your arms around his neck, he places a kiss on your lips while slowly walking through the water as if doing a kind of dance while holding you in front of him. “I love you Y/N.”
“I love you too,” you smile lightly playing with his hair before kissing him again.

Tumblr media
You squint under the bright sunlight as you rush down the bustling city streets; it’s an unusually warm day in southwest London and you can’t help but curse yourself for not checking the weather. If your arms weren’t so full, you’d shrug off your cardigan, but between your phone and purse and binder, you can’t find a spare hand.
“Listen, Izzy, tell Joelle to stop freaking out. We’ll just tour venues tomorrow, instead. Call her and make sure she’s okay, tell her I’ll call them all.”
“Do you still have the list or do you want me to send it to you again?” Your assistant and best friend’s voice echoes tinnily through the phone and you purse your lips. You can barely focus on the question, the heat beginning to become unbearable. Your shoulder is becoming sore from bumping into everyone on the crowded sidewalk.
“Um, I may have it, but can you send me an extra copy just in case?” You fit your phone between your ear and shoulder and you begin to rifle through your binder.
“Yeah, for sure. She also wants to add Heavenly Hollow onto that list. I’ve got their number right here, can I read it off to you?”
You look up from your binder to gauge the distance to your crosswalk and pull a pen from your hair, find a blank page, and say, “Yeah, but hurry.”
You listen to her speak quickly and jot down the number as fast as your fingers will move. Just as you begin to walk across the crosswalk, you stick your pen back behind your ear. “Okay, call me when you get home.”
“Will do,” you grin, saying your goodbyes and listening to her hang up.
You struggle to get your phone out from its secure place. Someone’s shoulder hits yours particularly hard and you grunt as it falls from your arms. You gasp as papers fly around you and you hastily sheathe your phone in your pocket and crouch down, fumbling with your papers. If this weren’t the most important wedding of your career, you’d have left them, but you know there are papers here that Izzy doesn’t have and you’ll be damned if you’re going to let Joelle Christiansen the same wedding treatment you give everyone else.
“Hey!” The word rings loudly in your ears. You barely hear it, still struggling to get your papers back in their spots. “Hey, ma’am!” This time you look up; not at the man yelling, presumably at you, but at the tourist bus hurtling straight toward you.
“Shit,” you whisper, clutching your binder and standing to your full height. You take a step, and before you can get anywhere, the wind is knocked from you. There are arms wrapped tightly around you, but your back slams into the cement of the sidewalk. You groan, still gripping your binder as the sounds of screeching rubber from the bus ring through the air.
“Jesus, are you okay?” A Welsh accent asks. Your eyes, which you had not realized were still closed, blink open. You let a deep breath out and look at your savior.
And, good god, was he a savior. A beautiful one at that. You clear your throat and close your eyes again, your heart still pounding. “Did I get all my papers?” You ask, and he chuckles ludicrously.
“Yeah, love, I think you did.”
“Thank Christ.” You breathe, dropping your head back. You eyes immediately snap open. “And thank you! Seriously, I owe you my life.”
He laughs softly, and as you stare up at him, you become acutely aware that you’re still trapped beneath a strong contender for the most handsome man you had ever seen. You sit up quickly and he falls to sit beside you. “Are you alright?” He asks again, and you let out a huffy breath, blowing your hair from your face.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.” The two of you stand, you gratefully taking his hand when he offers it. “Hey, let me buy you a coffee or something. It’s the least I could do.” You plead, still holding your binder close to your chest.
“I shouldn’t,” he breathes softly, and you give him the smallest of all smiles.
“Please. It doesn’t even have to be a coffee, I just owe you.”
“Coffee would be lovely.” He admits. Your face splits into a grin and you hold out your hand.
“I’m (Y/N), by the way.”
He accepts your handshake and the two of you begin to walk toward the cafe just around the corner. “Taron,” The name is familiar, but you suppose it isn’t an entirely uncommon name. You furrow your brows as you try to remember exactly where you’ve heard the name. “So, what exactly is in the binder? If you don’t mind my asking.”
“Oh, it’s just, uh, work stuff.” You chuckle. “It’s a big client.”
“Big enough to risk your life over?” He asks teasingly, sticking his hands in his pockets.
You laugh softly. “You have no idea.” You shrug off your sweater and lay it over your arm.
“Well, hey, I hope it works out for you,” he admits, pulling open the door for you. You thank him, walking into the cafe.
The two of you order, and despite Taron’s insistence, you pay for his drink. As the two of you sit at a table, you begin to wonder how you got so lucky. Sure, you may have nearly died, but there’s a silver lining to every cloud. You laugh at all his jokes, not because you feel that you have to, but because you actually think they’re funny. It had been a long, long time since you had met someone you saw something in, and it felt as though you and Taron were operating on the same wavelength.
With a quick glance at your watch, you gasp softly and begin to grab your things. “Taron, this has been lovely, truly, but I have to go. I’m so sorry.”
“Where are you rushing to?” He asks curiously as you grab your things.
Shrugging your sweater on, you smile. “My best friend, Izzy, and I go to outdoor movies in the park every Friday. She should be getting there by now.”
“Oh, they’re playing An Affair to Remember tonight, right?” He asks, and you cock your head.
“Yeah, actually. Do you go see them?”
“I used to, a few years back. I haven’t gone in ages.” He admits. You grin, stuffing your binder in your oversized purse.
“Well, hey. If you’re looking to reminisce, you are very welcome to join us.”
“I’m sorry, (Y/N), I’m not going to be able to make it tonight,” Izzy says apologetically.
“Izzy, it’s okay. Don’t worry about it, okay? Next weekend.” You sigh softly, looking to Taron’s confused face.
“I’m sorry, okay? I love you, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Yeah, I love you. Bye,” you hang up with a soft sigh and look to the man standing beside you. “So, Izzy isn’t going to make it.” You quirk the corner of your mouth up.
“Oh, damn.”
“Hey, if you want to bail, that’s fine.” You assure, and he makes a playfully offended face.
“I could never.” He teases. He offers you a package of M&M’s and you hold out your hand, clutching onto the candies he pours into your hand.
The two of you listen to the music in silence, waiting for the sky to darken enough for the movie to start. As much as you adore the tradition with Izzy, you’re grateful to have what felt suspiciously like a first date. You look over to Taron and already find his gaze on your face, causing you to blush. He inspects you and you raise a brow, a silent challenge. Instead of saying anything, he shakes his head with a smile and scoots the smallest bit closer to you.
Within moments, the movie is beginning.
“That movie is terrible.” Taron criticizes, and you glare at him, nudging his ribs with your elbow.
“It’s not! It’s one of the most romantic movies of all time.” You defend, and he rolls his eyes.
“It’s such a cop-out. The ending would be so much more impactful if they never ended up together.”
The crowd begins to disperse as the moviegoers began to leave, but you and Taron remained seated on the grass. Your thighs pressed together and your hands rest on the ground behind you to hold up your weight, making you blush every time Taron’s arm brushes against your back.
“I think it’s sweet. I like happy endings.” You admit softly, your gaze resting upon the smooth skin of his face.
“There aren’t always happy endings.” He reminds you, making you roll your eyes, looking away from him.
“So cynical,” you tease, making his shoulders shake lightly as he laughs quietly. He turns to look at you, a small smile pulling at the corner of his lips.
“Maybe so.” He accepts, his eyes still trained on you. You begin to falter beneath his stare, looking into his bright eyes and allowing your own smile to take root.
The silence is nearly stifling, and you feel his hand move near yours, his fingers brushing over your own. You let out a breath, the anticipation burning in the pit of your stomach. He leans toward you, just slightly, and you subconsciously mirror his movements. He’s only inches away when you hear a voice cutting through the cool air.
“Hey! We think it’s gonna start raining, you might want to pack up.” Your head swings around and you catch sight of a security guard.
You nod and hear Taron’s thanks, mate before the two of you stand, looking to one another. The air is awkward now that you’ve been interrupted, so you laugh softly. “I should go. Thank you, for everything today.”
“It was truly my pleasure, (Y/N).” He assures, and you grin. You purse your lips, looking to him before booking a thumb over your shoulder.
“I’ll see you around?”
You see him narrow his eyes, but he nods, a sweet smirk pulling at his mouth. “Yeah, of course.”
You turn and fight the smile at the thought of him, and you want to roll your eyes for already being enamored by him, but you can’t find it in yourself to care. It isn’t until you’re nearly home that you begin to berate yourself for not getting his number.
“So what, you just didn’t ask for his number?” Lewis asks, and you glare at your father’s best friend from across the table.
“No, Lewis, I didn’t.”
“Well, did you at least kiss him?” His wife asks. You purse your lips and avert your eyes to your coffee mug.
“I mean, technically--”
“Come on!” You father cries, making you shake your head.
Saturdays were your designated days to spend with your father. Saturday mornings, anyway. It was hard to get Saturdays off with work, spending most weekend afternoons and evenings with brides touring, tasting, and tailoring. It was busy, and most days physically exhausting, but it was worth it. At least, you seemed to think so.
You roll your eyes and take a sip of your coffee, changing the subject immediately. “Anyway, we’re touring venues today, I’m hoping we can finally pick one and start setting vendors in place.”
“You work too hard,” Katherine scolds, and you smile at her.
“I’m not working too hard, I’m just dedicated.” You shake your head, looking to your father.
“Don’t get yourself too worked up over this wedding, (Y/N/N), or you may actually get hit by a bus. Literally or figuratively.”
“Yeah, whatever.” You roll your eyes playfully, laughing softly under your breath.
There’s a soft knock on the front door and you look over, your brows furrowed in curiosity as your father cries, “Come in!”
The door opens just as you begin to lecture your father. “You cannot just let random people into your house, dad. Do you want to be robbed?”
“C’mon, do you really think I’d rob him?” A familiar voice asks, and you blanch.
“(Y/N), you remember Colin.” Lewis reintroduces his son, and you watch him with wide eyes.
“Uh, yeah, of course.”
How could you possibly forget? You had grown up with him; you’d known him as long as you can remember. Lewis and Katherine’s son was, in a way, your first love. For years, you’d pined over the man. In fact, you still felt your heart race at the sight of him. Colin, however, had been several years older than you and as far as you were concerned, far out of your league.
You stand as he approaches you, reciprocating his actions as he wraps you in a tight hug. “God, you look so different! You look great.” He grips your hips and you allow him to push you away as he looks at you from a distance, gripping his elbows. “Really great.”
“You too,” You breathe, looking up at his face. He flashes a grin and you offer a bashful smile, feeling the heat rise up your neck.
“Can you two get a room?” Lewis teases, breaking you from your reverie. You clear your throat and allow your hands to fall, ignoring Colin’s chuckle from behind you as you turn to face your father. You ignore your burning cheeks, giving a convincing smile.
“Y’know, Colin is single.” Katherine admits, a knowing grin on her face and a playful twinkle in her eyes. You make eye contact with your father, who shrugs and stands to get Colin a cup.
“Thanks, mum. Really.” You hear Colin chuckle. He nudges your arm to get your attention. “We should catch up.” He offers.
Your mind immediately goes to Taron, and though you nearly blush again just at the thought of him, you begin to wonder if you’ll ever even see him again.
“Yeah, totally.” You nod, a friendly smile on your face. You can’t tell if you’re accepting because you’re being polite, or if you actually want to go, but you sigh.
He flashes you a blinding smile before walking to the kitchen to meet your father. You sit at the table, glaring at Katherine and Lewis.
“You did that on purpose.” You accuse. Katherine just shakes her head, taking a sip from her mug.
She had been the only person to know of your childhood crush on her son, and though you had sworn to her for years that it was over, she never fully believed you. You hadn’t seen Colin in about six years, and distance had done you well.
Out of sight, out of mind.
But now, Colin was very much back in your sights. As you peer into the doorway of the kitchen and see him laughing with your father, you wonder if it was in everyone’s best interest that you might pursue a relationship with him. After all, he was still extremely handsome. And kind, a generous person since the time you were young children. It was difficult for you to find fault in him, something you had tried and failed at doing whilst trying to get over him years ago.
You sigh, crossing the table to say your goodbyes to your father’s friends. Gripping your cup, you hesitantly venture to the kitchen to rinse your mug and say goodbye to your father and Colin. You peek in the doorway, catching only a second of their hushed conversation before fully stepping in. Colin catches your eye and grins. Your father twists to look at you.
“Hey, love, you leaving?” He asks, reaching out to take your mug. You hand it to him with a grateful smile and nod.
“Yeah, I’ve got to be at a venue in thirty minutes.” You sigh, hugging your father.
“Hey, (Y/N), can I have a word?” Colin asks softly. You look at your father, offering a soft smile.
“Yeah, for sure.”
You watch your father set your mug in the sink and exit the room awkwardly, a small laugh falling from your lips.
Colin watches you carefully, smiling softly as you turn your attention to him. You push yourself to sit on the counter, looking at him with curiosity in your eyes. “What’s up?” You ask, tapping your fingers on your thigh.
“Would you allow me to take you to dinner?”
You try to hide your shock, but you can’t get out many words, so you say, “What?”
He laughs, loud and warm and you can’t help but smile at the sound. “I want to take you out.” He says again. You shake your head to clear your mind and nod.
“That would be lovely, Colin.” You say. You know now you’re accepting because you want to. As much as you hate to admit it, there are still residual feelings for Colin. He grins, nodding.
“Okay, great. I hope you don’t feel that I’m too eager, but how’s tomorrow night?”
This could not have been described as anything but your childhood dream. You can’t help but break into a smile, sitting up a little taller as he approaches you. “Tomorrow night sounds wonderful.”
“You slut!” Izzy gasps, punching your arm.
You can’t help but laugh, pushing her away from you. “It isn’t that big of a deal,” You assure her. “It’s just Colin.”
“But you didn’t tell me about the other guy. What’s his name? What does he do? Did you get his number?” She pressures, walking beside you. Her voice echoes through the eerily quiet church and you want to scold her for yelling, but you can’t find it in you.
“His name was Taron, I don’t know, and no. And we didn’t even kiss, it was barely a date.” You patiently reply, flipping through the pages on your planner.
“That’s kind of a coincidence.” She mumbles, pulling your purse off your shoulder.
Your eyes remain on the papers before you as you move your arm to give her access to your bag. You don’t bother asking what she’s doing as she rifles through your belongings. “Why?” You ask, finally reaching the page you’ve been searching for. The binder was still a mess, no longer the organized, clean collection you were so proud of. Papers were wrinkled and out of sorts, the pages you had lost reprinted just to be shoved in the front pocket.
“Our groom’s name is Taron.”
You gasp and look up at her. “That’s right! I knew it sounded familiar, but I couldn’t remember who it was.”
“We’re finally gonna meet him today.” She reveals, and your eyebrows shoot up. She immediately begins to address the silent question in your eyes. “Well, if you weren’t so busy going to movies with handsome strangers and being asked out by literal brain surgeons--”
“Colin isn’t a brain surgeon.” You scoff, looking up at her through your lashes.
“He’s a surgeon of some sorts, who cares? Anyway, I tried to call you last night and tell you, because Joelle told me when I called to talk about the venues.” She finally finds what she’s looking for, a pack of gum spilled at the bottom of your bag.
“Well, that’s good. It’s not often we get this far in the process without meeting the groom.” You sigh, closing the binder. She hands you a stick of gum, popping her own piece into her mouth.
“Well, Jo said he’s been out of town, right? I guess he just got back a few days ago.” She shrugs, handing you your purse back. You pass her your binder to drop into her tote bag, at which she winces. “Jesus H, this thing is in bad shape.” She breathes, earning a playful glare from you.
“Don’t make me feel worse about it.” You groan. You glance at your watch, and as if on cue, the church door slams open, a breathless Joelle rushing through the door.
“Hey, ladies! Sorry, we got out late. Taron is parking the car, he’ll be here in just a second.” She finally reaches you, her breath heavy.
“Hey, Jo. You guys didn’t have to rush for us.” You say, listening to her laugh in your ear as the two of you embrace.
“Oh, it’s fine. He hates to be late, so no matter what I said, we would have been speeding here.” She giggles, turning to hug Izzy. “We can start without Taron. He’ll find us.” She suggests, and Izzy looks at you with a raised brow.
“That should be fine. Let me go get the pastor, he’ll be giving us our tour.”
You turn on your heel, letting out a breath before looking for the office. Joelle Christiansen was A-list; she was, without a shadow of a doubt, the most high-profile client you had ever had. You had been recommended through a friend of a friend, and every single time you interacted with her, you were desperate to keep her happy. On top of that, you were quite fond of her.
You knock on the door, smiling as John swings it open. “(Y/N)?” He asks, a friendly grin painted on his face.
“Hi,” you reach out a hand to shake his. “It’s so great to meet you. Sorry about the mess with scheduling.” You apologize. He waves a hand to dismiss your worries, closing the door of the office behind himself.
“Don’t worry about it, we don’t get too busy here.”
The two of you make your way back to Joelle and Izzy, the voices echoing off the high ceiling. The pastor reaches his hand out to shake theirs, greetings flying around as everyone introduces themselves. You finally allow yourself to take a breath, with the attention off you. With the pastor in charge, you finally feel at ease.
“Well, let’s start the tour,” he claps. Just as he turns around, the door flies open and all four of you turn to look at the intruder.
For a split second, you’re nearly ecstatic, a smile playing on your lips before you realize what exactly is happening. Izzy’s eyes fly to you, and you lean over.
Taron half-jogs toward all of you, your Taron. You turn to Izzy in a panic; she looks back to you, her face twisted into a silent question.
“That’s him.” You say, the beginnings of a panic attack taking root in your gut.
“Obviously that’s him.” She rolls her eyes, discreetly elbowing your side.
“No, the guy from last night. That’s him!”
“Holy shit.” She whispers, catching everyone’s attention.
“I’m sorry?” The pastor asks, his brow furrowed. Taron begins to chuckle but is cut short as soon as he sees you. He blanches as you glare at him and the sound of Izzy apologizing is quiet to you as you think of the infinite amount of things you wanted to say to him. Your anxiety is replaced with anger and you can’t help but keep your cold stare on him.
“Tar, you okay?” Joelle asks. He averts eye contact to look at his fiancee--the word nearly makes you sick--and flashes the most convincing smile you may have ever seen.
“Yeah, love, I’m fine.” He assures, reaching out to shake Izzy’s hand first. “Taron, nice to meet you.”
He’s too busy introducing himself to the pastor to hear Izzy’s, “Is it?”
He reaches for you last. With a small hesitation, he reaches for your hand. “Taron, hi. You must be (Y/N).” There’s a silent plea in his eyes and you resist the urge to scoff.
“Hi,” you greet curtly, shaking his hand for only a second before dropping it as though it’s burnt you. You spin on your heel to face pastor John. “Right, should we start?”
He begins the tour, the four of you following him nearly silently. Taron and Joelle listen intently as you and Izzy follow from a distance. She sends you a bewildered look, and you mirror her expression; how the hell did you end up here? It’s safe to say you’re in the unventured territory. Izzy was equally overwhelmed, looking between you and Taron.
John rattled on as Joelle and Taron followed, paying close attention to the information he was feeding you all. Taron sends a look back at you, a look that obviously meant something. We need to talk, he mouths before quickly turning back around. You and Izzy shared another look and turned your attention back to the tour.
“Taron, this place is beautiful.” Jo gasps. The tour is just barely over, the four of you standing in the middle of the alter.
“Yeah, it’s quite nice.” He mumbles, the deep Welsh accent echoing off the marble walls. “I just think it may be a bit cold.” He offers. She purses her lips.
“Well, should we move on to the next?” You ask, pulling your binder from Izzy’s bag.
“I think I’m going to run to the restroom, okay?” Joelle asks. You smile curtly, watching her retreat. The three of you watch her wander away, the silence stifling until she turns a corner.
“Can I speak to you?” He asks, sending a pleading look to Izzy. “Alone?”
“Hell no. I’m not leaving.” She snaps. He looks at her with a near pitiful face.
“She knows?”
“Izzy, I’m fine. Give us a minute.” You sigh, pushing her lightly away. She glares at the two of you but meanders away to sit on a pew.
“I am so sorry.” He whispers.
“What is happening? Are you stupid?”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“You’re engaged? How can you act that way with someone when you’re engaged?” You exclaim. He runs a hand over his face, pinching his bottom lip.
“I hadn’t meant to, not at first. But you’re so lovely, and I just kind of got carried away.” He sighs. A hand reaches out for you, but you pull away.
“You are a literal psychopath.” You take a deep breath before squaring your shoulders. “But this wedding is big for me, okay? So we’re going to pretend we just met, and you’re going to be a helpful groom because if you aren’t, I’ll kick your ass.” You threaten.
He looks at you in shock and opens his mouth to reply. Before he can get anything out, Joelle rushes out from the bathroom. “Okay! Are you ready?”
You turn around with a blinding smile. “Yep! Let’s head on out.”
“It’s been five dates,” Izzy reminds you, causing you to roll your eyes.
“And?”
“And it’s coming! He’s going to ask you soon.”
The two of you walk into the bakery, waving at Joelle and Taron. “No, he isn't. It isn’t that romantic, Iz. And they’re barely dates, we’ve just been catching up.” You sigh, looking over at her. She raises a brow, giving you an incredulous look.
“Then why is he coming today?” She asks, rolling her coffee cup between her hands. “That’s boyfriend shit, (Y/N).”
“He’s just dropping off my laptop.” You defend. The two of you stop a few feet from the table, you in hopes to end the conversation before you sat, and Izzy because she wasn’t ready to give this up.
“Which you left at his house! Plus, you’ve kissed. He’s got a leg up on that one guy.” She says pointedly.
“Fuck off.”
“I’m being honest. Two weeks and five dates, you’re kissing him, and leaving things at his house? This is getting serious.”
“Can we finish this later?” You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose. She nods and walks toward the table, sitting down. You follow, greeting the couple and pulling a pen from your purse.
“Good morning, guys.” You greet, opening your binder to a blank page. “Let’s just jump right into it, yeah?”
“Someone’s feeling productive today,” Joelle notes, her laugh ringing through the air. You laugh, too. Not because you think it’s funny and definitely not because it’s true, but because you want to get as much of this done before Colin got here and you don’t want to have this conversation.
“Well…” you trail off, finally looking up to the pair. Joelle has a friendly smile painted on her face and Taron has a curious brow raised, a silent question. Your gaze lingers for only a second before you look down at your page. “What flavors were each of you thinking?” You ask, looking back up to them.
Taron’s disinterested face watches you as Joelle rattles off a list. You write them as fast as you can, nodding as she continues to speak.
“We’re going to have a lot of guests,” she begins. In your head, you cannot help but say ‘562 guests,’ a thought you had been carrying with you for weeks. 562. “So obviously we’re going to need a lot of it, but I want everyone to have something they want.” You zone out, nodding as she speaks despite the fact that you aren’t listening. Her high-pitched voice echoes through the nearly empty bakery.
“Well, we can sample all of these and you can pick three or four, we can do several cakes or a large tier cake; we can talk about that later, though, so don’t worry about it.” You stand to take the list to the man behind the counter when the bell above the door rings. You turn out of instinct and freeze. “Hey, Iz, you wanna take this up?” You ask rhetorically, offering the list and motioning to Colin.
She turns and makes eye contact before breaking into a mischievous grin. “Yes, ma’am.”
“Hey, Colin!” You greet pitchily, walking toward him. He’s nearly an hour early; he had told you he would be here at ten, but it’s barely a pinch past 9:10. “What are you doing here?” You laugh a little, trying to hide your anxiety.
“Why are you freaking out?” He sing-songs, pulling you into his side. He presses a chaste kiss to your temple and you look up at him.
“I just wasn’t expecting you this early, that’s all,” you whisper in response to his teasing, thanking him as he hands you your laptop.
“The department meeting didn’t last nearly as long as I was expecting. Didn’t think it would be a big deal if I came early. Am I interrupting?”
“No! No, of course not. You’re fine.” You assure.
“(Y/N), who’s this?” Joelle asks playfully. You turn to look at her, a bashful smile on your face.
Colin reaches his hand out for a handshake, gripping Joelle’s hand tightly. “I’m Colin, (Y/N)’s boyfriend.”
Your brow furrows in confusion for only a split second. He reaches for Taron, who watches Colin carefully as they shake hands. “Um, Colin, this is Joelle and Taron.” You introduce, ignoring Izzy’s smug look as she returns to the group.
“It’s just lovely to meet you, Colin.” Joelle winks at you. You roll your eyes playfully. “Would you like to stay with us?” She invites.
You begin to wonder what you’ve done to deserve something like this. Things with Taron were still awkward, to say the least, and even just the few moments Colin has been here had been nearly unbearable. There’s an unmistakable tension in the air, but just a single glance at Jo shows you she’s none the wiser.
“I’d hate to intrude.” He says, looking to you.
After a beat, you realize it’s up to you. You jump. “Oh! Um, you’re welcome to stay, if you’d like.” You say, watching him break into a grin.
“Stellar.” He exclaims, pulling up a chair. Taron raises a brow at you, but you become distracted by the comprehensive amount of cake being delivered to your table.
Cake tasting is not nearly as uncomfortable as you’d feared; Colin’s inexplicably charismatic personality had made it easy on you. In fact, you’d barely gotten in any words in between the rambunctious conversation. Taron and Collin had even built some rapport, much to your own surprise. It had been a rather lovely morning, in all honesty.
Cake is long finished and conversation seems to be nowhere near over when Colin’s pager begins to beep loudly. Around the table, faces scrunch in confusion as he pulls it out, sending you an apologetic look. “I just got called in. I’ll call you tonight, yeah?” You nod, a small grin on your face as he leans over and pressed a chaste kiss to your lips. “It was so great to meet you all, but I’ve got to go.”
Joelle’s hands clasped over her chest. “Colin, it was wonderful to have you. I hope to see you soon.”
“Likewise,” Taron nods from across the table. He stands parallel to Colin to shake his hand again, a kind smile gracing his face as they say their goodbyes.
You watch him exit the shop, a nearly-wistful sigh leaving you. “(Y/N)!” Jo squeals, catching your attention. “He is so cute, why didn’t you say anything?” She asks. You chuckle softly, shaking your head.
“It’s kind of new.” You excuse, beginning to pack your things.
“I have to go to a meeting but I’ll call you later, and not just about the cake,” she winks. Izzy chortles from beside you, and even you can’t help the laugh that falls from your lips.
She leaves, sharing a chaste kiss with a quiet Taron before rushing out of the shop.
You and Izzy are talking quietly about which flavors you liked best, starring the ones you thought Joelle enjoyed when Taron speaks up. “I think it’s rich that you chastised me for being in a relationship when you’ve got him.” He grumbles.
You give him a tired look. He looks back, his disinterest gone as he watches expectantly for an answer.
Instead, you say, “It seemed like you liked him.”
“Well, I did.” He’s caught off guard, of which your a little proud. “But that’s not really the point, is it?”
“Not that it’s any of your business, but I’ve known Colin my whole life, and our first date was days after I met you.” Taron looks a bit embarrassed, so you sigh and backtrack. “We don’t have to fight like this, all the time.”
“Yeah, it’s kind of exhausting.” Izzy cuts in, ignoring your glare.
“Can we just call this a truce?” You say softly, crossing around the table to stand next to him. You hold out your arms to invite him in a hug, giving him a playful smile. He diverts eye contact but grins, holding his arms out as well. You let out an exclamation and hug him tightly, ignoring Izzy’s soft yay!’
“Friends?” He proposes, giving you a squeeze before pulling back.
“Friends.”
“I miss you guys!” Joelle’s voice lilted through the phone.
“We miss you too, love,” Taron says sweetly.
She’d been gone for nearly a week and it happened that she had the smallest bit of separation anxiety. Knowing the three of you were planning without her made her neurotic and phone calls were coming in nearly every hour.
“You’ll be back tonight, in no time,” Izzy assures. Joelle hummed through the phone, her discontent obvious. “What have you guys done since we talked last?” She changes the subject. The three of you can’t help but snicker under your breath.
“Honestly, we haven’t even gotten to the tailor yet.” You say, your eyes attached to the road.
“Are you serious?” She screeches. You raise your brows in surprise, the corner of your lips turning up.
“Well, Jo, you called us last not even an hour ago.” Taron reminds her. There’s a beat of silence and she giggles.
“I suppose you’re right.” She admits. ”I’ll stop calling, I guess. (Y/N), call me tonight and we can go over it all.”
You chuckle, parking your car. “Alright, I’ll talk to you then.”
The four of you say your goodbyes before she hangs up. Taron twists to look at you, his face turned down.
“Don’t look so excited,” Izzy suggests. You giggle, nudging him over the console of your car.
“It won’t be that bad. We’ll be done before you know it.” You assure him, though you weren’t so sure of that yourself. Tux fittings never were so bad for you or Izzy. In fact, you found they were the most relaxing appointments of the entire wedding for you. It was a break from the usually overbearing bride, a time for you to sit and relax. The grooms, however, never much liked them.
The three of you enter the building, immediately greeted by an older man behind the counter.
“We have a fitting for Egerton.” You inform him, turning over your shoulder to look at the ornate tuxedos on mannequins around the shop. As you check in, you turn to look at Taron, his less-than-enthused disposition clouding around him. “Taron, be a big boy.” You cajole, following the man as he leads you to a separate room.
“I don’t want to,” He glowers, causing you to glare at him.
“Well, I guess you’ll just have to deal with it.” You grumble.
You and Izzy fall to sit on the couch across from the mirror, watching the man fidget as he stood before you. He taps his foot impatiently as the three of you waited for his tux, inhaling sharply.
“Dude, why are you flipping out?” Izzy asks, catching his attention. He doesn’t answer.
He lets out a deep breath. You can’t help but stare at him, watching the wrinkles between his brows as he paces the room. He peers over at you and you snap your attention across the room. You’re grateful for the soft knock on the door before it opens to reveal a kind-looking man with Taron’s tux in hand. You let out a soft sigh of relief as he introduces himself.
“Taron? I’m Marcus, nice to meet you, mate.”
“Hi Marcus, pleasure.” Taron smiles. He gestures to the two of you on the couch. “Um, this is (Y/N) and Izzy.”
“Which of you is the bride?” He asks, and you chortle without thought, putting a hand to your lips when you realize how odd you must seem.
“Sorry, neither of us. We’re the wedding planners.” You introduce, ignoring Taron’s look of surprise.
“Ah, lovely. Well, Taron, if you’ll just follow me…”
The door closes behind them as they retreat to a changing room. “Holy shit, you’re a mess.” Izzy giggles.
Your head snaps to her, eyes narrowed. “Excuse me?”
“Could you be more obvious? You’re all flirty and the glances are getting weird.”
“Izzy, shut up. We’re friends, it isn’t that big of a deal.” You try to convince both Izzy and yourself.
“I mean, the flirting is pretty toned down when we’re with Jo or Colin, but now there are no barriers and it’s so incredibly obvious that the two of you have feelings for one another.”
You pause, trying to process her words before you open your mouth with your rebuttal. No sooner have your lips parted is the door opening to reveal Taron and Marcus. He holds his arms out, looking to the two of you for a reaction.
“Cute!” Izzy exclaims. However, you inhale sharply, fixated on him. Maybe there was more truth to Izzy’s words than you cared to admit. As he stood before you, you felt your heart beat faster.
He crosses the room to stand before the mirror. “(Y/N)? What do you think?” He stares at himself anxiously in the mirror. You stand, watching as he turns to face you. His jacket remains unbuttoned, revealing his white dress shirt.
Your fingers are working seemingly without your permission, slipping the buttons into their designated places before he turned back to face himself in the mirror. You rest a gentle hand on his back, so light he can barely tell it’s there. “I think you look very dashing.” You admit. He breaks into a grin, looking into your eyes through the mirror. “The legs are a hair too long, but that’s a simple fix.”
“Okay, fantastic. I’ll go change then?” He says softly, eyes still locked with yours. His smile is long gone, so the two of you stand silently for a beat before you clear your throat.
“Yeah, go ahead.”
They retreat yet again, leaving you alone with your best friend. You turn to her with a grimace.
“Oh, you are so fucked.”
“Bye, Izzy. We’ll see you in a few days.” Taron says, waving at her from the rolled down window of your car.
“Bye, guys.” She calls from over her shoulder, walking into her building.
You let out a soft sigh, shifting the car into drive and relaxing into your seat as you began the route to Taron’s.
“So, how’s Colin?” He asks, fiddling with his own fingers. You glance over at him before clearing your throat.
“H-he’s good, I guess.” You shrug. You’re unusually nervous around him after the fitting, and he feels it too. He’s much less playful; the atmosphere in the car is nearly stifling.
“You guess?” He asks, twisting to face you in his seat.
“I haven’t really talked to him today.” You admit.
“What’s the deal with him, anyway? Like, this handsome, charming, doctor man? I’d like to know how this came to be.” He says honestly. He’s watching you intently, waiting for you to crack. You fear you might do just that.
You blow a raspberry jokingly, causing him to chuckle. You glance at him again, watching you and waiting for the story, so you shrug. “I’ve known Colin for my whole life. My dad is best friends with his parents. I guess Colin was my what if.”
“Your ‘what if?’” He asks curiously, cocking his head to the side.
“Yeah. You know, that one person you know you’d never be with, but you can’t get over them, so you just think about them all the time and think of all these scenarios even though you know there’s no chance.” You ramble. You look to him for confirmation. He doesn’t say anything but the look on his face is enough to tell you he understands.
“If you never thought you’d be with him and now you are, why are you going days without speaking to him?”
The question catches you off guard and you narrow your eyes. “I guess it’s just not what I thought it would be.” It’s the first time you’ve said it, and you can’t believe it was to Taron, of all people. “I mean, I’ve created this version of him in my head but it isn’t like him at all. That’s not to say he isn’t wonderful, but it’s not what I thought it would be.”
There’s a pregnant pause as you park in front of his building. You look over at him, gazing as he stares out the windshield.
“I don’t know if I can marry Joelle.” He says softly. You gape at him, reaching across to grasp his arm.
“Taron, what are you talking about?”
“I--” He takes a deep breath, groaning at the exhale. “I wouldn’t feel good about marrying a woman when I have feelings for someone else.”
He looks at you pointedly, staring into your wide eyes. You let go of his arm, turning back to face forward in your seat. It’s what your subconscious has dreamt of hearing. You’ve wanted the confirmation, wanted to know he’s jealous of Colin, wanted to know he wanted you. But you can’t accept it; you know it’s wrong, no matter how much it pains you to talk him out of it.
“You have to marry Joelle.”
“Why? Because we already reserved the venue?” He scoffs. “I love Joelle, but I have never felt like this about her.”
You turn toward him once again. “I hope you know I adore you. But I respect Joelle far too much for anything like this to happen. If I have to keep my distance, I will, but you have to go through with this. You and Joelle were meant to be.” The words sound like a lie coming out of your mouth, but he nods anyway.
“If that’s how you feel.” He says quietly. He opens his door and gets out, facing you one last time. “Have a good evening.”
Before you can answer, the door is closed, he’s walking up his steps, and your phone is ringing. You take a deep breath before answering with a fake smile. “Hey, Col. I can’t talk long, I’ve got to call Joelle in a little bit.”
Things were back cold with Taron and you, avoiding contact with one another at any given opportunity. Izzy had to become a human buffer between the two of you, much to her chagrin. With Joelle back in town tonight, you were praying for things to return to normal, or as close as you could get to it. Your phone call with Colin can’t be over soon enough. You’re feeling guilty and more conflicted than ever about your relationship; it’s the same reason you’re dreading the call with Joelle, but you’d rather get it over with than deal with her questions tomorrow.
You’re settling onto the couch with a glass of wine and a blanket when you call, ready to get it over with so you can laze and watch a movie. She picks up immediately, a sniffle audible over the line.
“Jo?”
“Hey, (Y/N),” she says, her voice thin.
“Jo, are you okay?” You ask, sitting up straighter. You hear another sniffle and your face wrinkles in concern. Your mind can’t help but turn to Taron. Had he broken up with her? Was she even home yet?
“Um, I don’t know.” She whispers honestly.
“What’s wrong? Do you want to come over?”
She laughs despite herself, shaking her head. “No, it’s fine. But I’m glad you called.”
“What’s up?”
“I’m on my way home, and I realized I don’t want to go.” She says softly. “I mean, I had to pull over. I literally cannot go back, (Y/N).” She breathes. For the first time, you notice her car running softly in the background.
It’s unlike you to pry, but she said she needed to talk to someone, so you ask, “Why?” What else could you ask?
She takes a deep breath. There’s hesitation, but she starts. “I was dreading being away from Taron this week. Seriously, I was sick over it. And then I was away, and...I don’t know how to explain it. It was so relaxing. Can you believe that? My business trip was relaxing. I love Taron, but being alone was--” She collects herself. “I kept calling because I thought if I spoke to him, I would miss him again, but I didn’t.”
Your heart soars for a moment before you frown. “Jo…”
“I know. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to hurt him, but I don’t know if I can do this.” She groans.
You lean back into the couch in silence. What are you meant to say? Break up with him? You couldn’t. Not if you tried. “Jo, are you sure you aren’t just getting cold feet?” You suggest,
“I don’t think so.”
“You two are made for each other.” This is as close as you get to begging, your voice a little softer as you try to reason with her.
She doesn’t say anything for a few moments and momentarily, you wonder if she’s hung up on you. You’re about to check when she says, “Have you noticed the way he watches you?”
You feel like you’ve been kicked in the chest. You had sworn whatever had happened between you and Taron before tonight had been buried and that the two of you were acting normally. “What?”
“I don’t know,” she sighs. “It’s like he’s watching over you. Like if anything came within ten feet of you, he’d lose it. He’s never looked at me that way.” She says softly.
“Maybe he’s just really passionate about the binder.” You attempt to lighten to air, successful for a moment.
She chuckles. “Maybe I am just getting cold feet.”
You breathe a silent sigh of relief. “Are you going to go home?”
“Yes.” She affirms. “Thank you.”
Instead of accepting her thanks, you say, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
She hangs up and you lean back into your couch. A heavy sigh falls from your lips and you dial Izzy’s number.
“Hey, (Y/N/N).”
“Hey, Iz. You busy?”
“I’m already out of the door.”
“Thank god.” You breathe.
“What’s up?” You hear her keys jingle and her front door shut behind her.
“You’ll never believe this.”
Just over a week. It was just over a week until the most important wedding of your life, and you couldn’t have been more relieved.
Today was a rare day off, full of sleeping in and watching television with Colin. Izzy was meeting with Joelle and Taron this morning for some final touches, locking in details before giving them the rest of the week off. Izzy agreed that you needed the week off as well, nearly forcing you to take the following days off.
Lying in bed, you couldn’t have been more grateful to her. The TV is already on and you can hear Colin fumbling around in the kitchen, murmuring to himself. You smile softly, swinging your legs over the side of your bed and stretching with a heavy groan. Colin had been quick to find your spare key and wasn’t shy about using it; when you woke up to breakfast, you couldn’t find it in yourself to care.
You pad to the kitchen, grinning as you hear him singing under his breath. Briefly, you wonder if Taron sings when he cooks breakfast, or if he ever cooks, but just the thought of him makes you anxious, so you shake him out of your head and enter the kitchen, catching Colin’s attention.
“Ah, you are just in time.” He praises, pulling two plates down from your cupboards.
“Am I?”
“Very much so, dear.” He dishes your plate, handing it to you with a grin. You set it on the table, grabbing glasses and filling them.
“I wanted to talk to you.” He confesses, sitting across from you at the table.
“Oh really?” You ask, beginning to eat. You watch him with a soft smile until you notice how serious he’s become. Your brow furrows and you lean toward him, setting your fork down. “Colin?”
“You know how much I care for you, right?” He asks, reaching to grip your hand softly.
“Of course. What’s going on?”
“I think we should end this,” He admits, catching you off guard.
“I’m--Colin, I don’t--” You take a deep breath, shaking your head. “Did I do something?”
He smiles sadly, shaking his head. “No, of course not.”
“Then where is this coming from?” You ask, slightly disgruntled.
“You don’t love me, (Y/N),” He says softly. He exits his chair to squat in front of you, your fingers still entwined.
“No, I do! Colin, I do.” You try to convince him, getting down to his eye level.
How could this possibly happen? You swore things with Colin were going perfectly. You thought you loved one another. You thought it was getting serious.
“Maybe you do, but you couldn’t love me like you do Taron.”
You’re taken aback by his words. First Joelle, and now Colin? Admittedly, you and Taron had gotten close and you spoke about, maybe in excess, but you were sure it seemed friendly. But as you stare into Colin’s melancholy eyes, you almost feel sick.
“I don’t love him.” You lie, shaking your head heavily.
“You do. And that’s fine; I think we both knew this was too good to be true.” He says softly, dropping your hand to cup your face, his thumb rubbing lightly under your eye.
Behind your eyes, stings and your throat feels dry as a tear falls from your eye to his thumb. “I’m sorry, Colin.”
“It’s okay, (Y/N/N).”
Your eyes close, reveling in his touch. After all, you knew this would be the last time.
“We’re not getting married.”
The words make Izzy choke on her tea, groaning when she feels it shoot up her nose.
“I’m sorry, what?” She inquires, staring across the table at the pair. She feels like a child with separated parents, but they could still pass as a couple when they look at one another with knowing smiles.
“Izzy, you and (Y/N) have been so amazing throughout this process and I genuinely consider you my good friends,” Joelle assures.
“But,” Taron’s voice cuts in and captures Izzy’s attention, “we want different things. This is very mutual, and we still love one another, but getting married is not the right move for us.”
“You guys are still getting paid, so don’t worry--”
“I’m not worried about the payment! I’m worried about you.” Izzy exclaims, looking into Joelle’s concerned eyes. “I mean, you guys seemed so happy. Where did this come from?”
Again, a knowing look is shared between the two across from her. Joelle’s smooth, small hand reaches across the table to grip Izzy’s with a soft smile akin to a mother’s.
“It’s been a long time since I was alone. I forgot how good I am at it, how much I like it. As for Taron…” she trails off, her left eye dropping into a wink. Izzy’s eyes narrow as she looks at the man, who gives her a bashful smile, his hands releasing one another and thrown up as if to say, ‘what can I tell you?’ “I think they’re much more suited for another than he and I ever have been.” She admits.
Izzy’s head is spinning, unable to wrap her mind around the information being thrown at her.
“She told you?” Izzy asks softly. “(Y/N) told you?”
“Told me what?” He inquires, the wrinkles between his brows appearing.
“That she’s in love with you.”
“She’s in love with me?” He gapes. Izzy’s mouth forms an O, a hand coming up to cover it.
“I told you!” Joelle squeals excitedly, punching Taron’s arm.
“She didn’t tell you?” Izzy groans, her hands on her cheeks.
Taron stands, a confident smile tugging at his lips. “Ladies, if you’ll excuse me.” He shrugs on his jacket. He looks at Joelle with a nostalgic smile before squeezing Izzy’s shoulder and rushing through the doors.
There’s only a beat of silence before Izzy turns to Joelle and offers, “This must be terribly uncomfortable for you.”
Joelle only shakes her head, a wistful smile on her lips as she stares at the doors.
The knock on your front door is the first thing to get you off your couch. You can barely move. First Colin, then Joelle? This was meant to be a relaxing day off. Instead, you feel as though your world may be collapsing. Despite Jo’s assurances that she couldn’t have been less upset, that she still loves you, you feel sick.
You swing the door open to reveal your best friend. “Did you hear?” She asks in lieu of a greeting.
“I just got off the phone with her.”
“Holy shit!” She exclaims, pushing past you to get into your apartment. “Hey, where’s Colin?”
You wince softly, shrugging. “We broke up.”
Izzy gapes at you. “Why?”
“Because he thinks I’m in love with Taron.” You groan, dropping onto the couch yet again.
“You are.” She reminds you, earning a glare from you. She sits beside you, rubbing your back comfortingly. “You know what will make you feel better?”
“Dying?” You ask facetiously, the eye roll from Izzy glaringly obvious.
“The park is playing About Time tonight.”
Despite yourself, you can’t help but gasp. “Really?”
“You wanna go?”
The park is less than crowded tonight, which means the two of you get a great spot, the thick blanket laid over the grass less than five rows from the front. It’s a much-needed distraction from the hot mess that is your life at the moment.
“Are you going to call Taron?” Izzy asks, the two of you ignoring the previews.
You sigh softly, picking at the grass near your hand. “I don’t know. I’m afraid it’s too soon.” You admit, turning to face her.
“Are you kidding? This dude canceled his wedding for you, I don’t think it’s soon enough.”
You groan, your head falling back. “Don’t remind me. I mean, I guess--”
“(Y/N!)”
The Welsh accent calls through the park, echoing over the heads of the patrons. Izzy’s head snaps toward you, a grin spreading over her face. “I don’t think he thinks it’s too soon.”
You spin around, but can’t see him. The sky is dark, making it difficult to see anything behind you. You’re straining your eyes to find him as he continues to call your name until Izzy slaps your calf. You look down at her, twisting when she gestures toward the screen.
There he stands, smack in the middle of the screen. Taron’s voice is still reverberating around the field and you can’t help but laugh when those around you begin to call your name. “Go over there, dude!” Izzy cries, reaching to push you toward him.
You take a hesitant step, enough movement to catch his attention. He doesn’t say anything, just watching as you speed to get to him. Within seconds, you’re standing before him. The two of you stand in front of one another for only a moment before your arms are thrown around his neck, his wrapped tightly around your waist. “Did Joelle tell you?” He asks, and you can only nod against him. “I don’t even care about Colin, (Y/N). Marry him, for all I care. But I want you to know I love you.”
“Colin and I are done. Because I’m in love with you.”
A face-splitting grin overtakes him and he pulls you closer, leaning down until your lips are connected. You lean into his body, the passion behind the kiss causing you to wobble. His lips work against yours, a hand raising from your waist to your face, caressing your skin gently. He pulls away, resting his forehead against yours with a sigh of relief. You grin, pressing another kiss to his lips.
“Maybe you aren’t so cynical after all.”
