(unfinished sketch) This is what happens when you listen to Jingling Nona for too long - you draw Mal and his small state of Melaka wearing the traditional Kristang clothes.

As usual, mal belongs to @pearlescentplums and Melaka oc is mine.

Hello its time to introduce the three states that I care enough to draw them :')

The first two sketches are Kedah, her young self and current. Mal’s ((still alive and kicking)) mom. Nagging him is her forte. The oldest out of all the states.

The bottom 2 is Melaka and Perlis, the young side of Malaysia’s 14 states. She appeared after the fall of the Malacca Sultanate to the Portugese. Her place is small but tourism keeps her place going.

Perlis was originally a district under Kedah but was given it’s own jurisdiction from Siam in 1843 and became its own state after joining the Federation.

I get your views i think. But i see colonizers as parental figures to colonys. Not actual parents beacuse i agree it erases the nations past, like "bam they birthed this nation" when it kills all before then, and is also completely false in canon too (other than egypt and greece). Colonizers are like that person who wants the godvernment to pay them for looking after a child, while behind the scenes is being abusive to them (least how i see england)

Oh i can see where you're coming from. Funny coincidence that i have a aph Melaka oc, a state from Malaysia, who i jokingly say that The Netherlands (VOC) babysit her after Portugal left. However I'm gonna be honest I usually stray away with themes like abuse for canon-verse. Hetalia is a light-hearted show after all (though for historical hetalia sake.... I'd say Arthur's treatment towards his colony does vary....)
