How to recognise organized harassment on tumblr (on example from hetalia, the most normal fandom):

First of all, it often starts with "Block this person!" Often with many exclamation marks. Never "please be aware". That's not the accusing who should be responsible for your decisions to block/not block.

Secondly,

There are too many accusations at once. This one example of wording sounds hilarious. There is some recognisable pattern in such a kind of harassment: you are necessarily being accused of transphobia + racism + islamophobia/zionism. All these accusations in a 1 post at once are a red flag, you should check the information very precisely and objectively. Otherwise, you have a very high risk of participating in harassment and misinformation's spread about innocent people.

Like, I've seen callouts about tankies/vatņiki and they are VERY different from organized harassment.

Thirdly, if there is more text from the accusing than actual screens/links - that's also a red flag - you shouldn't share the post immediately. Those who harass innocent people want you to believe that if you don't share the callout post right here, right now, the world is gonna collapse. It's not. Check the information.

Fourthly,

Wtf is this. It's not even recent? You are just bored and you want to make a fuss? Red flag. I would not trust the author after this. Five sentences ago, you encouraged us to "block this person!!!" - and now you say "I'm urging y'all not to block"? Sure, grandma, let's get you to bed.

No, my dear, the only person with dangerous views trying to hide behind "valid criticism" is you. Once again, "just block this person", right after "don't block this person".

Anyway, organized harassment doesn't necessarily have a lot of profanity because assholes became a bit smarter. Organised harassment makes an accent on rather the personality of the accused than the actual deeds. Organised harassment uses the Pontius Pilate's rhetoric. Organised harassment makes it a show, a Broadway musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar", leaves the accused no opportunity to explain themself, and leaves the people no opportunity to ask the accused.

There are surprisingly many people who cooperate with each other in harassment. Organized harassment makes its authors feel like they have some power. Maybe because in real life, they are too wretched.

Even if the accused actually has weird views, such a callout post makes me too disgusted with the author to share it.

Please don’t participate in harassment. Please check the information.

P.S. Accusations of zionism? Has anyone ever tried to ask Jews what is zionism? It's like accusing of patriotism. I accuse the author of the post of anti-Semitism.

HETALIA ANALOGUE HORROR AU IDEA

CW : Body horror imagery that may be disturbing to some people

Here it is! Forgive me if it doesn't make sense, it's really messy and I'm yet to actually start it!

It's hetalia but a classified government analogue horror styled video explaining about an experiment that ran in the late 80's or so, trying to find out more about the nation's nature and how they basically work.

Neuroscientists try to find a way to see nations as their 'true forms,' through attempting to find loopholes through the human brain and how it perceives nations.

It's heavy of themes on the paranormal, supernatural, the human mind, and what really is behind the veil of illusion. What do they really look like? Truly?

This is heavily inspired by the seerverse au by A_Selkie_Abroad on AO3, and I love the idea of their physical forms being just a mask.

It's also inspired by Secrets and Directives by YingYangKay in chapter 38, specifically the bathroom scene. (If you haven't read the Gaia AU I recommend it!) Who knows what that human saw America as?

Another inspiration. Not really planning for it to be part of the story, but it's what sparked my interest and is what gave the idea!

Imagine this.

Their faces were unrecognizable, flashing the fraction of a millisecond and overwhelming every physical sense. What is that? The human mind would question. Without the cover of protection subconsciously given, it was now exposed to this unexplainable being.

How do you deal with the toxicity in the fandom? It's getting hard to be here.

Yeah a lot of people suck. I just don't visit tags at all anymore. I'm going to be honest I haven't since some time last year. I follow people that I like and I know are not drama whores and I get my reblog content from them ethically. I block anyone I see making call out posts or stupid call to actions against people. Or shoving current SERIOUS real life politics into Hetalia (a major peeve of mine. and emphasis on serious because of course jokes on funny current events are fine but it's the serious stuff that really sets a fire in me. Like the current wars for example.) You just gotta do what you gotta do to keep your mental health good tbh. I've noticed some people leaving lately due to people not minding their own business and harassing others, people that I actually liked and that's really annoying. I just don't understand why some people in this fandom have to be so vindictive and insufferable it's sad honestly. Do they not get tired? They have to because listening to some of these people is EXAUSTING! So many people on the outside hate the Hetalia fandom for what some weirdos did 10ish years ago. I don't know why some people feel the need to start drama and fights for NOTHING. That being said if you're a Hetalia blog that is chill and does not start drama reblog this post and I'll consider following you because I need more content to reblog. & or if you are a chill person and like other chill people who enjoy Hetalia & music join my discord maybe?
