If Luigi murdered a homeless black guy going through a mental health crisis on a train, Luigi would have been exonerated because of a technicality that said homeless guy was dying anyway or some shit. They’d ask “what about his family?” If Luigi stabbed and killed some brown people instead of shooting some CEO, the police nor the FBI would not have placed bounties on him nor began a manhunt like they didn’t when the exact thing happened on the same exact day in the same fucking city only minutes apart.

Terrorism is not only a socially constructed term but a politically charged one that is dictated by what action that the labeler deems impermissible. When health insurance companies deny, delay, and depose millions of people to their inevitable deaths, it’s not deemed terroristic. It is an acceptable social murder and let’s not soften the term because it is in fact murder that they are committing. But that man’s one act exposed what the authoritarian class thinks of us all. We aren’t valuable.

And that should make you violently fucking angry.

AMAZING WORK, EVERYONE!

AUTISM SPEAKS IS SHUTTING DOWN IN CANADA!

When I started as an autism advocate in 2010, A$ dominated the narrative. They were everywhere and they regularly shouted advocates down and buried our voices. To see that they've made the decision to no longer operate in Canada is HUGE. It means our voices are getting louder and louder, and that our movement has made tangible progress!

My guess is that it's no longer financially feasible for them to have a Canadian arm of the organization, and that's such a massive shift given how dominant they were when I got my diagnosis 15 years ago and officially joined the autism advocacy movement 14 years ago. I'm so proud to see these changes happening - we've made progress, and I can't wait to make even more with all of you!

For now, though, it's okay to celebrate this victory. We all earned it together!

not interested in getting involved in the rest of this discussion, for the most part, but to me this is a GREAT piece of advice that many people these days don't seem to be getting or understanding.

not everyone you meet or interact with is your friend, the requirements and expectations for respectful behaviour between friends is not the same as between strangers.

Remember earlier this year when Boeing very clearly had a whistleblower executed? And law enforcement didn't even look for anyone or release any info about it or anything?

People keep comparing Luigi Mangione's case to the subway murderer who got off because of systemic eugenics, but I think there's something more apt about the fact that a CEO had someone executed in recent memory, with zero attempts to find a culprit, while they spared no expense at all to find (and probably frame, it's beginning to look like) someone who shot a CEO. It's always fine to slaughter if you're rich, but if you kill the rich, they will hunt you down.

luigi mangione, the SUSPECTED (innocent until proven guilty) united healthcare shooter, has been charged with terrorism. that’s right. a man who supposedly shot ONE SINGLE PERSON is being charged with terrorism. because in america, billionaires lives matter enough that a SINGLE rich man’s death is considered a terrorist act against this country. think about that.
