What is House of Anubis? I heard of it and wonder if I should watch it?

House of Anubis is an old nickelodeon kids show from the early 2010s about a group of teenage boarding school students who solve Egyptian mysteries. And it’s the English remake of the Dutch show Het Huis Anubis. The Dutch version is the original version of the story and it’s slightly more mature themed (for example, the kids can cuss a little bit and the stories are less PG Nickelodeon, if that makes sense). I highly recommend you watch both shows, because the stories and lore are so insanely well written and intriguing. I just know you’ll fall in love with the characters. Just keep in mind (with the English version especially) that it’s a show made for kids/teens, so the writing will be a little silly at times, and it’s okay to give it some grace in that regard. Anyways, I hope you watch it and love it!

They really were not that subtle with Joyce/Patricia. Patricia being feral about Joyce’s disappearance. Saying the new student will be Patricia’s true love only for it to end up being Joyce. Looking like That in the intro from s2 onwards. Sharing a little kiss on the mouth (“Just testing!”). Calling it cheating when Joyce is making a new friend. Joking about a proposal with the friendship necklaces. Their ending on the show being the ditching of their boyfriends to go to a different continent together. They were literally endgame. As Jeroen moves towards the couch he catches sight of her and startles. “Holy shit,” he whispers, elongating the sh as he tries to keep his voice down. “What are you doing here?” “What are you doing here?” Nienke counters, scowling almost on instinct. It seems they haven’t fully unlearned the antagonism yet. She schools her features into a more open expression and sighs. “I’m doing the same thing you’re doing, I think.” Jeroen grimaces, dropping the hostility as quickly as Nienke has. “Can’t sleep either, huh?” “More like won’t.” - Or, Nienke starts seeing Sarah when she's awake and Jeroen is plagued by dreams that might be more magical than he's used to. They find that it is much easier to be crazy together than alone.

I actually did it! I wrote an Anubis fic, as I have been wanting to do for ages. Nienke and Jeroen is such a good duo that doesn't get to shine nearly enough in the show, so here is my take on the plot-besties friendship we deserved!
