June 27, 2023 - Finished (tidal) Hespera cowl
Tada, my third Hespera cowl is finished. This one (tidal) and the previous (tealberry) will be for sale at my local craft fair, later this fall. I'd love to make more, likely tinkering with details and different yarns.
For now, I've started on making some small plush toys. Just quick projects, to fill out my craft offerings. A couple hats or scarves might also come along, after I make enough toys.
A couple more pics to finish this post.
(Does this photo/image set up look okay? I'm still not used to taking pictures with this set-up yet. My computer spits out pics that are wider than what tumblr used to post. I need to fiddle with the thing some more.)

Just shy of 12-inches on the hood. Still needs a few more, before I seam up the top.

June 6, 2023 - A new, blue Hespera cowl
Back at the library, after being ill. I had only knit one row before, so most of what you see there is today’s progress. (I’ll calculate my time later. I’d say about 5+ hours.) I’m on row 6 of the lace pattern, as I get ready to leave for the night.
It’s rainy today, and I’m sleepy. Not bothering to put much effort into my hair also adds to the scraggly look. Whatever, though. I enjoy looking at my own face, so I’m happy.

June 24, 2023 - Hespera without the lacework (part 2)
The hood currently measures 12 inches, after 5ish hours of work. Still need a few more, so I guess I'll get it to 16-inches and try another test fit.
I think it was around 8ish inches when I tried it on earlier today.

Fun news! I’ve been doing a stitch wrong on my Hespera cowl. Which is why it looked so weird in places. So... I’m gonna have to undo nearly this whole damn cowl, after like 15+ hours of work.
New version will NOT be doing that damn lacework. It’s not worth it. Not gonna redo the tealberry one, either. Just this current one.

April 22, 2023 - Finished “tealberry” Hespera cowl
Sick of me posting about this? Heh, just wait til I start the next one!
I finished this cowl on Thursday night. It required 2 balls of yarn, and what you see in the picture is what’s left over. I could’ve made the hood a bit longer, but I was concerned about seaming it up while the stripe pattern was on a lighter color.
I plan to sell this at a craft fair, later this fall. As I work on other projects (especially these cowls), I’ll keep modeling them, to show my progress.

Tealberry Hespera - about to start the hood
Well, it’s a few more rows before I split for the hood, but I’m almost there! That’s about 4-ish hours of work, compared to earlier today. God, I love this color combo!

June 24, 2023 - Hespera without lacework
As mentioned, I realized I did my stitches wrong and had to undo nearly all of the cowl (down the to the garter stitch edge). When I reknit, I skipped the lace section, which also made things go much faster.
Now, I'm further along than I was before the redo. And that's just stitching at home, between library visits. I'd say this is 14 hours worth of work, as a guesstimate.

June 20, 2023 - Hespera cowl, kitten marker
Just a row away from starting the hood. I'm very excited to not have to count rows!
Also I'm wearing one of my mom's rings. Most of her rings are small on me. Really, they only fit my ring and pinky fingers. I've avoided wearing rings for a long time, mostly due to sensory issues. This little 4-heart ring is light enough that it doesn't bother me.

June 17, 2023 - Giant knitting needle
This was one of the needles I got from N, who recently moved away. (Her mom was L, who grew up in my house.) It doesn't have a mate, so it's just holding yarn for now.
Amid today's 5.5 hours of Hespera knitting, I'm on my 7th row, after the 1st set of decreases, after the lace section. I only make note of it, because I won't really be able to remember otherwise.
Bonus: The legacy version of photo posting is finally gone for me. I managed to find the webcam thing on my computer. And it flipped the image for me on its own (rather than having a mirrored view, like it does through tumblr's posts).

daily notes - may 16, 2023
We had an new visitor at the library, so I spent more time helping her than knitting.
So, I cast on my stitches, got almost a row done, then realized the yarn I used was too coarse. (It’s from a swatch I had knit and frogged, so it was little worn. Fine for me, but not on something to sell.) Thus, I frogged that, then cast on again and did the first row.
Since I’m trying to monitor my time, let’s tally!
short Red Web video, 23:53
longer video, 48:25
part of a music playlist, 54 minutes
rounded off: 126 minutes (or about 2 hours)
Since I literally only have 1 row done, there’s not much point in taking a photo today. Plus, I leave the library in like 10 mins.

April 18, 2023 - tealberry test-fit, mid-hood
As I said back in December, sometimes test-fitting your work means you have to be willing to look stupid for a bit. I have about 6.5-inches of the hood knit. After 12-inches, I’ll do another test fit and seam up the top.
I started this on April 1st, usually only working on it 2 or 3 days per week. Remind me to keep track of the time, once I start my next cowl. Yes, I will be making more. I love the Hespera cowl so much.

April 15, 2023 - Tired, with Since and Hespera
I have several inches of hood for the “tealberry” Hespera cowl knit now. Hormones have me fatigued, so Since (the bear) is helping me hold up my head.

April 11, 2023 - Tealberry Hespera, lacework done
The latest Hespera cowl is coming along nicely. I just finished the lacework section on Sunday, and I started the pre-hood decreases last night.
It’s 68F degrees today - nicely warm, but cool enough for a light sweater, due to the strong breeze. My hair is in pigtails, though not my usual braids. I ran out of the house quick.

Making the day more bear-able - Dec 9, 2023
Not feeling my best, so I needed Since for support. I had hoped to go shopping with my library ladies tomorrow. On the bright side, they will be able to go without me, so I'm happy they get to spend time together.
Since is wearing the bubble-stitch hat I knit earlier this year, as I wear my first Hespera cowl
