part 2 of the NPMD Monster High AU! seriously thank you guys for all the love on part 1, it means a lot that you like my silly hyperfixation crossover :]

a little lore note: in this AU, monsters can use magic to blend in with humans during the day, sort of like in the g3 cartoon. Hatchetfield is kind of split into the normie side and smaller monster side. the monster part of town is magically warded to make humans want to leave quickly, and monsters don’t tend to cross over into the human areas (with the exception of adults with normie jobs, like Mayor Lauter and most of the adult HF cast). Hatchetfield High is a “exclusive private school” in the monster part of town, and the normie teens, like Grace and Max, go to Sycamore.

why are Grace and Max humans if this is a monster AU, you ask? don’t worry, i have plans for them :)

Steph:

she’s a vampire because… well because she’s rich. you’ve heard of old money? these Lauters are ancient money

i had a hard time with her outfit because my main references were Draculaura and Elissabat, who are both very dressy, but i wanted to stay true to Steph’s casual grungy style… and then i remembered The Lost Boys were THEE original grunge vampires, so i mashed David and Paul’s jackets together and gave her a Santa Carla tee as a shout-out

the chains and plaid pattern tie back to Pete’s design, like the plaid of her flannel and his bow tie in the show <3

her father isn’t technically actually a king, but runs Hatchetfield’s monster community like he is one. a close encounter with a band of monster hunters the better part of a century ago forced the monsters into hiding under his command, and Steph’s mother ended up staked. Solomon hasn’t been the same since…

Max:

his design is simpler than the others, but that’s for a reason :) the mansters usually have more boring outfits than the ghouls, so it’s not that out of place for Monster High, right? i plan to make a few more ‘doll lines’ for this au- i’m thinking Dawn of the Dance next ;)

his jacket is based on the G1 varsity jackets that Heath Burns and Slo Mo had in their first waves, but with Max’s iconic blue. i got rid of the Hatchetfield ‘H’ since he goes to Sycamore with the other normies in this AU. go Timberwolves, i guess?

his striped shirt is based on Freddy Krueger’s iconic sweater, because Max in the musical seems to take a lot of cues from Freddy; coming back from the dead to get revenge on his killers, vulgar one-liners, gruesome kills, and even a parody of the Freddy rhyme painted on the set background. one, two, Jäger’s coming for you…

side note but i had a really hard time getting Will’s likeness in this pseudo-MH style. i think he ended up a bit too Bruce Campbell-y. maybe it’s the chin.

Grace:

sorry, Grace, i’m changing your name a bit. if you need a refresher on the G1 MH lore; Van Hellscream is the Monster High expy of Van Helsing. his niece Lilith appears in the Ghouls Rule movie, but i’m stretching out the timeline a bit so let’s say Lilith is Grace’s aunt or something. Chasity is her maiden name, which the family goes by because “Hellscream doesn’t sound very Christian”

these days, the Van Hellscream’s monster-hunting legacy is more of a family legend than history, and her parents don’t even believe that monsters exist… but Grace knows that something unholy is going on at that “private school”. she may not have Great-Uncle Abraham’s arsenal, but she has the power of God and years of repressed rage on her side

design wise she changed the least from her canon outfit. she’s covered in monster-killing weapons- crosses, stakes, silver bullets, and the flowers on her blouse and jeans are alliums, aka garlic flowers- which, fun fact, were originally thought to be what repelled vampires, rather than garlic bulbs!

her blouse is based on Nancy’s nightdress in Nightmare on Elm Street to match with Max’s Freddy stripes

Me personally I think yes, but I don't know WHEN it could happen !!

Speaking for G1, they had such a crowded world of characters, they barely even gave space to my boy!! Like after the webisodes and Ghouls Rule they really stopped giving him as much space :(

While I don't know if they would even have the time for a full arc, I do think they could so have done/have a plot line where he gets upset about everyone seeing him as kinda just a normie, and therefore like, joining a anti-monster human group or something? Like Van Hellscream or someone alike being like "aren't you tired of getting treaded like this" and convincing him to be a mole, sort of

Tho I do think that in the end he would feel bad about it & go back to the monsters or something lol, probably after Frankie doing a "this isn't like you :(" sort of speech xP

I know in the new comics (which I haven't read but shhh) they have a plot line with a secret society kidnapping ppl and stuff? Like I think he would get involved in something like a normie-version of that if they convinced him that he deserves better

Then like, I can't say much about G3 cause I haven't seen it, but like I know they also have a monsters Vs normies conflict so a plot line with a normie society attacking monster high could be like the perfect opportunity to introduce a G3 Jackson!! And there he could have like more time to be a villain at first and only join the others later down the line :D

In G2 I'm not sure... Like everyone feels soooo nice in G2 I think he would just hang around and live in the lab or something... Maybe if he accidentally made the school explode, but he would only snap if people were really harsh to him about it

Van Hellscream has a blind son named Isaac whom he shelters due to his disability. Unlike his father, Isaac doesn’t have any prejudice against monsters and ends up becoming an ally.

My favourite post I've made so far !!!

I KNOW there are so many people who LOVE Jackson in this fandom and would love him as a protagonist; I feel this would be the perfect premise for Mattel to have that!

Making a comic about some danger afflicting Monster High that's possibly made of 2 issues, maybe one focused more on Jackson and the other on Holt, OR with sections portraying the switch in povs/narrations between them, while bringing back the normie cast from Ghouls Rule would be so cool. Exploring the normie/human conflict is really something that deserves a Jackson&Holt centered story...

I also think it would be easy to plot as a Van Hellscream come back (maybe with Bartleby as a henchman, making some lore about how to keep Van Hellscream petrified in the catacombs they used gorgon powder, and how Bartleby freed him, since he too seems to have lots of monster talismans and an anti-monster driven grudge against MH), so to also have a Lilith conflict of going against the wrongdoings of her own family....

AND Bloodgood could be going with them! Trying to pass as a normie and keep her head on (even at a time when she's really scared for the school!)

Jackson Jackyll has to gather a squad with all normie characters (Clair, Chad, Lilith Van Hellscream, Tweedledum and Tweedledummer...) to help save Monster High.

How is your version of the Monster High movies different from the canon? Like, what’s your version of Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love, Escape From Skull Shores, Boo York, Scaris: City of Frights, Fright On, Ghouls Rule, Friday Night Frights, and 13 Wishes? I would LOVE to hear how you would rewrite them for your Reimagined series!! I also love how you have background characters like Invisi-Billy and Johnny become the main cast instead of just all girls. I also want to know what town Monster High is set in because they never said WHERE the movies take place.

Okay, this is gonna be a long one. Let's start with the name of the town near Monster High. Old Salem. Cuz the human town in Ghouls Rule is named New Salem. That's all I could come up with.

A new School year at Monster High. We get to see the first month of school for new kids, Frankie, Gil and Abbey. We also get to see Invisi-Billy dealing with his new roommate Johnny Spirit.

And if that's not enough, the so called "human-monster relationship expert" is actually planning on hunting them all down.

It's valentines day at Monster High. Also Draculaura's birthday! And Clawdeen is determined to make it the best day ever for her girlfriend. But Draculaura's ex-boyfriend Kieran Valentine shows up with the intend to win her back. Meanwhile Johnny deals with the fact he might be falling in love. And what secrets does the office of former student, C.A. Cupid hold?

Hoodude leads Manny, Iris, Wydowna and Billy on "exciting" Island trips. Lagoona helps Gil with his fear of the ocean. And Frankie, Toralei, Cleo and Deuce go on a mystery boat trip and make a huge discovery.

Frankie gets upset over the incorrect presentation about Halloween. This is nothing like what she read about. She gets some surprising support from Johnny Spirit. He knows what Halloween is and this is wrong. But trying to show how humans really act during Halloween ends with Jackson and Holt getting arrested by humans! It's time for the Monsters to save them.

Meanwhile, Rochelle goes searching for her missing boyfriend Garrot with the help of Spectra and Operetta and the local street artist Catrine DeMew.

13 Wishes.

Howleen is going through a lot and the bullying from Gory Fangtell just sets her off. She ends up with a magical lamp containing a genie, Gigi Grant. Howleen, still in a fragile state of mind easily becomes manipulated by the shadow genie Whisp. Howleen's wishes end up making Gil a daredevil with no regard for his safety! And she erases Cleo from everyone's memory, almost everyone. Seems artificial minds are immune to genie magic. Clawdeen just wants to help her sister but things don't go well. Can Howleen be saved before it's too late?

They try to return but once they get back to the present, they experience some interesting side effects. They fused! Can the hybrids help Cleolei, Lagoonafire, Clawvenus and Ghoulankie to cooperate?

While Twyla, Rochelle, Garrot and Sirena try to help Frankie with her haunting, Toralei joins them as they follow Spectra into the ghost world. And poor Johnny literally gets dragged into the adventure leaving a distressed Invisi-Billy no other choice but to get Headmistress Bloodgood involved.

Upon arriving they learn Cleo's disowned father somehow promised her away in an arranged marriage. While they come up with a way to break the marriage, Catty's voice gets stolen by the werecat twins, employed by Nefera De Nile. During the chaos Johnny decides now is apparently the right time to confess his feelings for Billy. Also, there's a meteor. And it's a musical. Yay!

A fight between Lagoona and Toralei results in them falling into the pool, suddenly transported to the Great Scarrier Reef. And they're not allowed to leave until Lagoona faces her demons. For once Operetta and Johnny agree for Lagoona to hurry up so they can stop being half fish!

Scarily Ever After

During the great school clean up. Draculaura finds a magical book in the attic. Suddenly, she, Clawdeen, Cleo, Deuce and Johnny get pulled into a fairytale maze where they run into the students of Ever After High, Raven Queen, Apple White, Maddie Hatter, Briar Beauty and Sparrow Hood, trying to stop The Evil Queen, Raven's mother, from enslaving Monster High. As if that's not enough, a magical stream swaps the Monsters with the Fairytale students. And who's this mysterious Euna?

in Scaris: They just stick with Jinafire, Catrine and Skelita. Sorry Garrott but the movie is about Clawdeen entering a contest to become Moanatella's "apprentice"... Besides Garrott isn't MH student and lives in Scaris. I bet you almost forgot that he and Rochelle still together...

In Frights Camera Action!: Can they just stick Clawdia, Elissabat and Honey Swamp. Sorry Viperine, maybe in Deuce's family reunion in Greece would be more appropriate to introduce her ( I can't believe that never once Deuce and Viperina got interacted together)

In Freaky Fusion: Stick with Neighthan and Sirena and replace Avea and Bonita with Deuce, Lagoona and Jackson/ Holt (MH writers just forgot that Deuce is half human/gorgon, Lagoona is half sea monster/ocean nymph and Jackson is half human/monster/elemental)

In Haunted: Just stick with River, Porter and Kiyomi. Sorry Vandala but she seems out place in school setting. Perhaps in Shriekwrecked series would be perfect for Vandala

In Boo York: Just stick with Astranova, Luna and Mouscedes and replace Elle with Seth Ptomely.

I have nothing to say in Scarrier Reef: I just wish Finn Wake would be part of movie because he's siren and Gil's "stingray" form is pretty cool
