the rollercoaster, the merry-go-round, anything you name it.
but he would notice the discomfort displayed on your face.
like immediately.
"are you okay? do you wanna go home?" was the first thing he asked after seeing your expression.
he's asking like the world would end if you were not comfortable.
and of course you would tell him that it's okay.
doesn't take him so long to notice that your feet are actually hurting ( you stumbled a lot while walking )
he would stop in front of you and take off his shoes, telling you to wear it.
"are you gonna walk barefoot?" "we swap it" "it's not gonna fit you" "i don't care, as long as you're comfortable"
— lee sohee, singing you to sleep
we all know sohee has an angelic voice.
i could hear him singing and talking all day, nonstop.
and will never be tired 🙏🏻
he'll learn your favorite songs and sing it for you through the night.
sometimes it'll be a lullabies or slow song.
but that can't compete to his song.
he will LITERALLY wrote a song for YOU.
he has a whole album of a songs that he wrote.
all dedicated to you <3
in his songs,
you will hear the sound of you laughing, humming in the background.
he put every audio clips that he record when he's spending his time with you.
even a voice notes that you sent to him
like.. im so down bad
bonus:
the cover of the album would be your childhood photo or the photo of you and him
— lee chanyoung, holding your hand to warm you up
so i just thought the cutest aos for the cutest boy..
and this came up 🥹🥹
i think it suits him very well cause he's just a shy boy who wants to show his love to you!!
he will notice right away how your hands shiver slightly.
i see the vision where he's too shy to ask if he could hold your hand or not..
of course you'll let him cause who wouldn't 😴
glance at your hand and back to your face awkwardly.
took you a while to realize that he might want to hold your hand.
if you hold his hand for him, his cheeks will turn bright red immediately!!
however, if HE decides to make the first move..
he would quickly take your hand and put it in his pocket.
but if you expect him to look at you after the sudden action?
he wouldn't, 100% im so sure.

Pairing: Jungkook x Female reader
Words: 4.7k
Genre: smut, angst, fluff if you squint really hard, childhood friends to lovers AU
Warnings: unprotected sex, bathroom sex, infidelity, JK is a heartthrob that is bad at feelings, YN realises she’s been in love with JK all along.
A/N: this is me trying to write longer fics, I liked how this one came out yayyy. This goes out to the @thebtswritersclub monthly prompt _____ to lovers, in this case it’s childhood friends to lovers. I just- I really liked how it came out, I’m so excited to know what you guys think of it.
Summary: Falling in love is such a curious thing in life, Jungkook would know best, after pinning over you for years on end, only to have his best friend take away his opportunity, or does he?
Tumblr media
The sun was shining brightly over the park as you made your way down the slide, hot skin scorching at the contact with the yellow plastic, although you couldn’t bring yourself to care as much as your mother would, meeting Sungho at the end of it, who was covering his eyes as best as his arms would allow him to do, summer was almost coming to an end and you two had decided to spend every single second of it together, much to both of your mothers’ dismay who had long decided to take turns to tire both of you out by the neighbourhood park, nothing too exciting, if it weren’t for your young imaginative minds combined, which turned you into the closest a six year old could get to being a menace.
As you smiled brightly at your friend, you couldn’t help but turn your head towards an almost inaudible whimper coming from the shaded side of the park, finding a kid around your age plopped down by the tree, desperately drying his eyes with the back of his hand, small sobs coming out of his lips as three other kids, which you knew to be a little older than you and quite disrespectful at that, kept laughing at the boy, so really, what else were you supposed to do if not come in to save the day. “Come on Y/N they’ll make fun of us too” Sungho said as he tried to tug you away, only to have you stand your ground firmly
“If they make fun of me, I won’t cry” you crossed your arms stubbornly over your chest
“Y/N let’s just go”
“You go, Sungho” Sungho was always the type of kid that your mother kept reminding you to be more like, always righteous, never picking fights like you were known to do, but you really couldn’t stand watching the mysterious kid crying by himself while no one else did anything in the slightest. So you stood between him and the three kids that were still making fun of him, head high, fists up by your sides in a superhero pose “You shouldn’t make fun of others”
“Why don’t we make fun of both of you then, Y/N?”
“At least I can put my shirt shirt when I’m dressing myself, Areum” the girl looked down for half a second before staring you down, full of rage before huffing and turning around in true mean girl fashion.
You turn back to find a pair of bambi eyes staring at you, sobs silenced, although his chest still showed him trying to fully catch his breath. You extend your hand for him to take it so that he could stand up “I’m Y/N what’s your name?”
“I’m Jungkook” you were quick to grab his arm and pull him to where Sungho had watched the whole scene with Areum, now staring at the way you dragged the slightly shorter boy towards him
“Well Jungkook, this is Sungho and I just decided that all of us three are going to be best friends forever” the small boy smiled at that, bunny teeth showing in the process, eyes sparkly with wonder and pure appreciation, contrasting the look on Sungho’s face.
Tumblr media
“Y/N I think you need to have girl friends to have these sleepovers with, Jungkook and I are boys” Sungho says as soon as you pass him the mirror and he is left staring at his reflection with a ton of glitter eyeshadow on his face, you turn to look at Jungkook, who is currently sprawled out playing with his nintendo, a set of pigtails adoring his head along with the hottest pink lipstick you could find
“I don’t mind it” he stuffed his mouth with chips as he continued to play on his console, not sparing any of you a look, although you smiled at him fondly, grateful to have him play along whenever Sungho didn’t feel like it, which seemed to be more and more as all of you grew older.
“Well I’m going to take this off” he said as he ran into the bathroom to wash his face. Good luck trying to get rid of glitter.
You huffed out a sigh at how boring it was getting if Sungho didn’t like to play your games, along with Jungkook being stuck inside his own little world. “This is so boriiiing”
“It was your idea Y/N”
“Yeah but you guys are no fun”
Jungkook pauses his game to turn to look at you “We can watch a movie if you’d like”
Tumblr media
If someone were to tell 6 year old you that twelve years later, the kid that used to make fun of you would turn into your best friend, you would have probably laughed in their face, although as years went by, Areum had finally gotten better in terms of personality, up to the point where she had a full on talk with you before you decided to give it a try, even more so as she now took it as her job to protect you in high school, seeing as she was a year older than you.
“Jungkook has changed” the brunette said while taking a seat next to you inside the cozy smoothie shop, crumpling up her receipt inside her bag distractedly as you just stared at her, not knowing what had prompted her to talk about your best friend, Jungkook wasn’t exactly what one would consider popular, especially amongst the higher grades, especially not given the bickering grudge he held against Areum after all those years.
“What do you mean?”
“Just- seems like before summer he was this scrawny little thing, deer eyes, soft smiles” you looked at her intently, Jungkook had gone on vacation with his family for weeks as soon as finals were over, leaving with the promise of hanging out for the few days before school started again, similar to how you were now hanging out with Areum, her having arrived back a few hours before Jungkook “Now- well”
There were a million thoughts running inside your mind, some seemingly more plausible than others, tow hich yopu found yourself asking “Areum, did you fuck Jungkook?”
“I mean- we were both staying at the same hotel Y/N” Areum sipped on heir smoothie as a way to act coy about it, wide eyes turned the other way at the prospect of having said out loud that her latest conquest was none other than little Jungkook, the guy she had always made fun of for one or another reason
“Oh god you slept with Jungkookie” and you really tried to picture her, accepted into college, beautiful Areum, long lean legs, model faced Areum, flirt queen that always seemed to go for older guys Areum, paired up with sweet Jungkookie, sure, your best friend was cute, handsome even, there was no denying it, he was just not- Areum level handsome, Areum liked going out to party, let men shower her in drinks while Jungkook absolutely loved staying home battling Sungho in the newest video game that was around “I-I have no words”
“Y/N- Y/N don’t judge until you’ve tapped it” your friend seemed to space out for a second, as if looking back at her time with Jungkook, dreamily. “The guy got buff”
And sure he did, not only did Jungkook was now full of muscle, he also apparently had renewed his wardrobe, bought a motorcycle and apparently had even grown a few centimeters taller, or at least that much was said by Sungho as you three met up for lunch the day before classes started again, trying to catch up as you did every year when the three of you didn’t get a chance to hang out much.
“So are we getting that newly released game Kook?” Sungho mentioned in what appeared to be the background, your eyes completely fixated on whomever the man sitting in front of you was, definitely not your best friend Jungkook.
“Nah dude, I sold all my consoles and games to buy my bike” your eyes widened at the confession, probably mirroring the uttermost shocked look that Sunho was also sporting. Jeon Jungkook selling his videogames was definitely a sign of the apocalypse. You were about to make a comment before you heard a very familiar voice behind you, making you turn your head towards it.
“Jungkookie, you wanted me to come over?” her eyes had that sparkle in them which you have come to recognise as her being infatuated by someone, even if she didn’t really talked about it openly, you turned towards Jungkook in disbelief
“Yeah, Areum, lose my number”
You consciously close your mouth at the exchange as Areum backed away from the table muttering an ‘oh..okay’ as Jungkook smiled daily at her, your eyes lock in surprise with Sungho’s, both of you silently agreeing that this Jungkook was certainly a new side neither of you could yet guess whether or not you would continue to be able to befriend, although the history between the three of you spoke volumes.
And just like that, enough to get whiplash from it, Jungkook’s lazy uninterested eyes were replaced by the squinty smile you had learned to adore over the years, bunny teeth showing as his laugh resonated in the restaurant “Oh god you guys should have seen your faces!”
Your eyes travelled along the expanse of the space you three were in, looking at Sungho for a clue to pick up about what was happening, coming up empty handed as he spoke first “Dude I almost had a heart attack, I thought you had sold your games!”
“Oh no that I did” Jungkook took a sip out of his drink calmly
You tried not to show how nothing made sense in your mind “And that thing with...Areum?”
He placed his cup down, looking at you with wide eyes humming softly “Yeah that was a thing too, she’s been texting me non stop after we hooked up. I’m just glad I’m back with you guys”
So Jungkook had changed, that much was true, just not as much as he let people believe. Sure enough, the guy was now pure muscle, rode a bike everywhere, and made it his lifeplan to conquer as many girls as his schedule allowed him too; he also made a few other friends outside of your friends' circle, enough for rumours to go around about him being involved in shady business, or him hooking up with somebody’s mum. Either way, if you were to turn a blind eye to his social persona, Jungkook was still your and Sungho’s little Jungkookie, bambi wide eyes that teared up whenever it was movie night and you picked some chick flick, bunny teeth and loud giggles as he played a prank on Sungho, even though you could tell his heart just wasn’t in it as it was before.
Tumblr media
“I’m gonna ask Y/N out” Sungho has asked Jungkook to meet him outside of campus on the first weeks of college as all three of you decided to attend together, uninterested on whatever it was that he was about to tell him, but trying to keep up his fractured friendship with the man (and you) he had shown up, even so a little fashionably late to make his point clear.
“And you’re telling me this because..”
“I don’t want to make it awkward, Jeon” Jungkook scoffs before rolling his eyes at Sungho “Don’t think I haven’t noticed you little boy crush on her for years”
“What I think you haven’t noticed is that I don’t do feelings” Jungkook retorts as he approaches him “And although I find Y/N to be quite fuckable if you ask me, I appreciate her enough not to put her in a weird place like you’re about to do, asshole”
Once weeks rolled around, things kept on being as the were after that fateful summer where Jungkook completely reinvented himself, even as semesters came and went, Jungkook grew a bit more separate from both Sungho and yourself, although it became a little harder to discern whether it was because of Jungkook or due to the fact that Sungho and you had started dating during the first semester of college. Sungho had no real answer to give you when asked about it, saying that outside of the scheduled movie night you three kept on sharing, he barely even texted Jungkook on his own.
Tumblr media
“I heard your girl is getting married” his friend said as he handed him an opened beer, taking his place back against his bike in the middle of the night after some race they had gone to near the outskirts of Seoul.
Jungkook took a swing out of the bottle, squinting at the questionable choice in alcohol “I don’t have a girl Jihoon”
“Oh? Then what’s Y/N?'' he felt the blood draining from his face, heart heavy, breath hitching inside his throat as soon as your name left his lips. Of fucking course Sungho would try to marry you before you graduated. That bastard.
It was quite funny really, Jungkook knew from the very start, back when all three of you had 6 years old and you had saved him from a set of mean kids in the park, that Sungho was never fond of him, or rather, of the relationship you had developed with him, sure, the two men had bonded over a few shared interests as they grew up, but the only thing that kept them together was you. Sometimes Jungkook guesses it could have been him instead of Sungho, asking you out, sharing nights together, even being about to get married. But those thoughts were only wishful thinking, he had long ago decided that you deserved so much more than what he could give you, what with his eternal fear and inability to give himself up to others. So he had let you go, never thinking about the possibility of Sungho taking a place he wasn't worthy of either.
"Good for her"
Tumblr media
It wasn't long after learning that you were engaged, that the invitation arrived to his apartment, just a few days after graduation. It wasn't really a surprise anymore, even back when he first heard the news, it wasn't that surprising, he guessed it was the years of knowing both you and Sungho, learning your patterns, that he had somehow seen it coming. It didn't make it any less hard to wish you weren't about to walk down the aisle to a man that wasn't him though. But he kept repeating to himself to stop being selfish, he had lost his chance, not that he ever had one to begin with, but as long as you were happy, he would be too.
And you really did seem happy, so he was willing to just ignore the way that his chest seemed to constrict every time your eyes locked on his from across the room as the rehearsal dinner, you were sporting a gorgeous emerald dress, the same colour as when you two first met eighteen years back, his mind spinning with impossible scenarios as each minute that passed really just turned out to be a minute closer to watch you walk down the aisle to another man, one that was supposed to be his best friend at that.
“Bride’s or groom’s” A sweet female voice called him as he sipped on his fifth? sixth? champagne flute, finding a woman staring at him with what he has come to recognise as lust.
“Eh.. you could say both”
A glimpse of recognition could be seen in her eyes before she spoke again “You must be Jungkook then, the overseeked bachelor”
“In the flesh” He smirked at her as she took a hold of his hand, guiding him upstairs to where you and your soon to be husband had booked bridesmaids and groomsmen alike for the night. Not that the blonde had anything to do with how utterly horrible he was feeling about the whole wedding situation but perhaps fucking his frustrations out would help just a little.
Tumblr media
Jeon Jungkook was never the one to stick around until morning, that much was true, and although he might be known for a varying of unspeakable things, nothing could have prepared him for what he had to witness at ungodly hours.
He picked up the rest of his clothing after half dressing himself, not even sparing a second glance at the woman that was laying on her bed peacefully, careful not to make more sounds than the inherently necessary, his curiosity is peaked as he hears faintly moaning and skin slapping skin coming from the room next door, seeing the door barely open, and against his better judgement he peeks inside only to feel his heart pounding against his chest, blood rushing inside his ears as he can’t seem to look away from the image presented to him. Sungho, your soon to be husband, the one that he used to consider his best friend for years on end, the oh so righteous Sungho, ever morally correct Sungho, bending your other so-called best friend and maid of honour, Areum, over the comforter as he fucked into her. A few hours before he got married to you. After everything that he had put him through, making him believe that it was in your best interest top let you go, that he should have handed you over to him, that he was the best option out of the two of you to build a life with.
Jungkook sees red and doesn’t quite remember anything other than Areum running out of the room as he punches Sungho in the face, receiving some punches back.
“You absolutely disgust me”
The bastard has the guts to laugh at him “You know, Jeon” he goes to inspect his face in the mirror “If you burst Y/N’s bubble, you’ll forever be remembered as the stupid little boy that was jealous enough on her wedding day to ruin her life”
Jungkook clenches his fists by his side before deciding to turn his heels and leave the room, vision still blurry in anger, breathing ragged, a small trickle of blood making its way down from his eyebrow as he almost automatically walked himself to the other side of the hostel where he knew you must have been resting, taking a few too many second to decide to knock on the door.
“Jungkook? What are you- oh god” sleep seems to leave you as soon as your eyes lock on his beat up face, him smiling at you in a futile attempt to have you not worry that much about his well being, but of course you were already searching for a first aid kit as he took a seat on your bed “Jungkookie, what happened?”
And perhaps he didn’t think it through that much, but he couldn’t let you walk yourself into a marriage blinded by the persona Sungho had always made you believe he was. “Y/N” he took your hands in his, stopping you from rubbing any more antiseptic into his cut “You’ll hear,a nd probably have already heard, too much shit about me”
His eyes beg you to stare at him intently, and although the whole scenario had you giggling out of nervousness, it soon died down “Kook, what are you talking about?”
“Y/N- Sungho is not the man he’s made us think he is” your eyes scan his face for any more clues on what he’s saying a syou feel a beeping sound closing in on your ears, overwhelmed by the situation “And he’ll probably say this is me just being a jealous asshole after being in love with you for more than half of my living years but-”
You stare at him in horror as your hands remove themselves from his hold as if he was burning, standing up from where you were seated next to him, feeling your whole world being crushed down a few hours before what was supposed to be the happiest day of your life “No” you take a step back as you hold your chest, feeling hot tears welling up in your eyes “Jungkook please don’t do this shit to me”
“Y/N just- don’t marry Sungho” somehow he had willed his voice to remain calm
Your head shook fervently at him, as if somehow the action would make him retreat his words “Sungho loves me, Jungkook”
His eyes were ice cold at your words “He loves you enough to fuck Areum a few hours before making you his wife”
He really didn’t mean the bite on his words as he said them, this had nothing to do with you and everything to do with that asshole you called finacé, so he could completely understand when through your tears, chest heavy with rage and head spinning you asked “Please leave”
And he did.
Tumblr media
Everything seemed like a fever dream. The words that Jungkook had said, the implication that it had. And really, if it weren’t for the fact that Jungkook was gone from the whole ordeal, you could have sworn your life that it was nothing other than a nightmare, Areum was as bubbly as ever, helping you get ready. Sungho’s good morning text still found its way into your inbox. Jungkook had not only accused you fiancé of cheating, but had said he had always been in love with you, no further proof to his words, so you decided to go as planned, yet you found yourself hyper aware of every move Sungho made, especially when they involved Areum.
You stood in your pristine white dress in front of a couple dozens of guests as traditional words were spoken, your mind a thousand miles away as you kept on looking towards the door, hoping that maybe, just maybe, they would open up, Jungkook would show up and stop you from making what could potentially be the worst mistake of your life.
"If anyone objects to the marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." your eyes trail to the soor, yearning to hear Jungkook’s voice amidst the otherwise silent chapel, but it never came.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Y/N come dance with us,” one of your bridesmaids say as the night progresses after dinner, some loud beat taking over the venue at the reception, making everyone stand up to dance, including your now-husband as you find yourself sulking sitting on your designated table.
“I’m fine, you go” you try to flash her the biggest smile you can as she goes, leaving you once again with your thoughts. Thoughts that mainly involved Jungkook, figuring that after all these years, life had managed to finally separate you, heart yearning to have him close to you, the more you became aware of your current life path, the more you realised what a humongous mistake you had made. You had always thought that marrying Sungho would give you a sense of utter happiness, of fulfillment, whether what Jungkook said was true or not, as you watched your husband having the time of his life without you. If he were Jungkook, he would be seated right by your side.
Jeon Jungkook, as deviated as he appeared to be to everyone, as much as he slept around, he had demonstrated to be the most loyal human being by your side up until the last second of your friendship, unlike Sungho, he had always been interested in what you wanted to do, had always let your voice be heard, had helped you through rough times when Sungho was nowhere to be seen, perhaps you had chosen the wrong best friend to fall in love with a few years ago, the wrong man in your life to marry. It had been Jungkook all along. It could have been Jungkook all along.
Your eyes fixate on the way that Sungho whispers something on Areum’s ear and you feel your blood boil, more out of self-pity and annoyance at letting such a man manipulate you rather than jealousy as you stand up to make your way to the bathroom, in hopes of freshening up before coming up with a plan to fix this mistake.
You sigh as you hold yourself up by the sink, looking at yourself in the mirror, pondering just how deep you’ll have to dig to come out of the mess when you hear an all too familiar deep chuckle behind you “So you realised”
You turn your back to the mirror to face Jungkook “That Sungho was an asshole or that I’m in love with you?”
His eyes turn into those deeply surprised deer shape you remember from when he was younger for a split second before they’re filled with something else between lust and deep appreciation as he backs you up further against the sink, a tattooed hand coming up to your chin “Does that mean I get to kiss you with no regrets now?”
“Would you kiss a married woman, Jungkook?” you ask playfully, matching the brattiness in his tone
“Only the ones whose husbands are assholes” and so his lips capture yours in a sweet quick kiss that has you wrapping your arms around his neck, leaning in once again, escalating from a very much due kiss filled with words that are unable to be said, into a fiery pit in the low of your stomach at the prospect of kissing Jungkook while still being in your wedding dress, just a few hours married and kissing another man.
Jungkook’s hands have abandoned their place on your figure in favour of trying to undo the little buttons on the back of your dress, breaking the kiss to complain “God just how many buttons does this dress have?”
Soon enough your dress lays forgotten on the floor, matching lingerie covering your body as Jungkook has most of your body up against the mirror, panties aside in favour of having him fingering you, arms almost failing to keep you upright as he mouths at your skin, moans escaping your lips regularly as he pumps and curls his fingers inside you, lewd noises taking reverbating on the small bathroom’s walls, a faint trail of bass coming in from the party “God you’re so perfect Y/N” he grunted as you heard his zipper coming down before feeling the tip of his cock teasing your entrance, his hand coming up to grip your hair making you face the mirror, makeup completely wrecked, the sight almost unrecognisable to you, a slight burning but pleasurable sensation on your scalp “I bet that bastard Sungho wouldn’t be able to wreck you like this” without further notice entering you from behind, your walls clenching against him as you felt him slowly but firmly making his way in and out of you at a building rapidly pace, a moan slipping past your lips and Jungkook shushing you in exchange as he increases his speed and you bit your lip to forbid any noises from coming out, afraid of being heard even when you knew it would be almost impossible to do so over the loud party noises, this bathroom being so far away from it.
Jungkook had placed your right leg up the sink, hitting an even deeper spot that had you building your orgasm at an incredible speed, throwing your head back in pleasure, feeling him completely inside you as heat pooled in your lower belly.
“K-Kook I’m gonna-ah! I’m gonna cum” a few flicks on your clit with his expert fingers as he helped you keep yourself upright did the trick as Jungkook made sure to somehow thrust even deeper, a loud moan scaping you as he spilled his warm seed inside you, quickly adjusting back his boxers and trousers as one of his fingers collected some cum that was dripping down your thigh to push it back in, letting go of you to hold yourself up against the sink, pulling your panties back in place.
“Think that counts as a wedding gift?” he turns to leave the bathroom, leaving you heaving to haphazardly step inside your dress as you trail behind him, finding him resting against a wall, his bike roaring a few meters away as he smiles your way knowingly as he puts on his helmet, throwing another one your way "So.. all ready to leave that asshole of a husband now or should I wait another 15 years?"

author’s note: Happy Halloween! This is a very special gift for @chaotic-fairy bc I know about her Vamp!Chan weakness and I want to ruin her life (jk ilysm Mary) and I hope she likes it! Without further ado…
Another exhausting week at work and you were genuinely considering quitting. But you needed the pay check to deal with your bills, your rent and getting food. Sadly, you rarely had enough cash left to treat yourself to something nice. You were so damn tired you wished you could find a way to make some extra money without lifting a finger. That would be nice, wouldn’t it?
You were feeling pretty desperate when you picked up your phone and started looking for sugar daddy apps. At first, it was just a joke to you. A silly way to pass the time and unwind from the long week you’d had. However, after half an hour of scrolling, you were seriously starting to weigh your options. Some guys on these apps didn’t even want sex! They were just asking for feet pics or something of the sort. Others simply required their potential sugar baby’s company! It was truly amazing what guys would do for a bit of affection. One of the offers piqued your interest more than the others:
Sugar daddy looking for loyalty and something else. Not sex. Specifics discussed in person. 1000$ a week.
Loyalty? That was easy enough to provide, wasn’t it? It was the something else part that got you curious. What could he want that wasn’t sex? There was a phone attached and you wondered if you should call the guy. But he’d specifically said that he would only discuss such details in person. But 1000$ a week was quite a lot of money. Compared to what the other guys were offering, this guy was pretty generous. What would he ask for in return? You were a bit intimidated by the large sum but more than anything, you wished to find out what that something else meant.
You didn’t waste any more time and called the number. You were met with a ridiculously attractive voice.
“Hello?” you said. “I’m calling about the offer in that app?”
“Ah, the sugar daddy app?” the man on the other side of the line answered. Damn it, why did his voice have to be so sexy?
“Y-yes,” you stammered nervously. “Is it still on?”
“I would have deleted it if it weren’t,” the stranger laughed. “Are you interested?”
“I guess so,” you responded. “Could we meet in person to discuss…specifics?”
“Alright,” he agreed easily. “In front of Lotte Hotel. Tomorrow, 6pm.”
Judging by his intonation, you could tell he wasn’t asking, but instead was simply ordering you to go there, which under normal circumstances, you would have found repulsive, but for some reason, you felt the need to do as he asked.
“Okay. How should I call you?”
“On my phone?” the man chuckled.
“No, I mean…do you have a name?” you whispered, feeling a bit awkward.
“You can call me Mr. Bang,” he murmured and for some reason you felt weak in the knees. “What is your name?”
“Y/N,” you managed to utter. “Well, I’ll see you tomorrow, then, Mr. Bang.”
You hung up before you could let him he say “goodbye”, because his dominant behaviour was frustrating you and you wanted to get in the last word. What had you expected from a guy who was offering money for something mysterious in a sugar daddy app? But you couldn’t be hypocritical, because you had been spending time on said app, as well. You sighed to yourself. You were too tired to think. You decided you would dwell on it tomorrow.
🧛🧛🧛
You couldn’t sleep much despite your exhaustion. You were anxious about your meeting with the potential sugar daddy Mr. Bang and had no idea what he would request in exchange for such a large sum of money. You wished he’d been more explicit on the phone or in the app itself so that you would have realistic expectations. You realized you couldn’t do much but go and see for yourself what he wanted. You had a whole day ahead of you so you decided you’d spend half of it watching one of your favourite shows and the other half, picking out an outfit for your meeting with Mr. Bang. Even though you still had no idea what he would like, you wanted to make a good first impression. You settled on a blue dress and white shoes that always made you feel good about yourself.
Once the clock struck 5, you started getting dressed. You put on some make-up, grabbed your bag and walked outside. You lived relatively close to the hotel Mr. Bang had mentioned yesterday, so you decided no public transport would be necessary. When you arrived in front of the hotel at around 5:45pm, you realized you had absolutely no clue what he looked like. How would you be able to recognize him? How would he be able to recognize you? You dialled the phone you’d contacted last night.
“Hello?” Mr. Bang spoke on the other end of the line.
“Hi, it’s Y/N from yesterday. Just wanted to tell you I’m in front of the hotel and to ask you what you’ll be wearing.”
“You can’t wait to see for yourself?” you could swear the mysterious man was smirking.
“No, I just…won’t be able to recognize you? There are a lot of people in front of the hotel, you know.”
“Oh, right,” Mr. Bang laughed. “I’ll be wearing black leather jeans, a black shirt and a red tie. Trust me, you’ll know me.”
You rolled your eyes at his confidence.
“What are you wearing?” he asked.
“Um…a blue dress and white shoes. Is this helpful?”
When he didn’t reply rightaway, you got a bit worried.
“H-hello?” you murmured nervously.
“You look ravishing,” Mr. Bang complimented you and you jumped up in surprise when you heard his words coming both from your phone’s speaker and from behind you. You turned around in shock and couldn’t stop your mouth from dropping. Nothing, not even him informing you in advance about his outfit, could have prepared you for how devilishly good-looking Mr. Bang was. He was taller than you and his face was, to put it mildly, flawless. His black shirt outlined his well-defined figure and his leather jeans made you focus on his muscular thighs, which was honestly quite distracting. If you had to compare him to photos of sugar daddies you’d seen online…nope, it was impossible, his existence was incomparable.
“Earth to Y/N?” Mr. Bang snapped his fingers right in front of your face, which startled you a bit.
“Y-yes, hello, I’m sorry.”
He chuckled, obviously used to such a reaction when people were confronted with his otherworldly beauty.
“Shall we go inside and get a room?” Mr. Bang suggested boldly.
“A room?” not that you were exactly opposed to the idea, but you weren’t sure getting into a hotel room with a complete stranger was sensible.
“Yeah, I can’t afford others listening to the specifics of our arrangement. Is that okay with you?”
This sounded like bad news. What had gotten into you? What on earth were you doing here? Alone? With a potential sugar daddy? What had started as a simple joke had progressed into a completely unexpected direction. You weren’t certain whether it was too late to back out.
“Well…I don’t know if I’m comfortable with this,” you admitted.
“That’s alright,” Mr. Bang reassured you only to frighten you further with his next suggestion. “We could go to a secluded park. Or an abandoned bathroom. Or a secret basement. Which one would you prefer?”
When faced with such horrendous options, you immediately regretted not agreeing to the hotel room. Perhaps what gave away your terror was the expression on your face.
“Relax, I’m just messing with you,” Mr. Bang chuckled softly. “There’s a café nearby that doesn’t have many people, but it’s still not isolated enough for you to concern yourself about getting kidnapped. Or worse.”
His cryptic intonation while pronouncing the “or worse” part didn’t do much to ease your worries. But a café nearby sounded way better than hotel rooms and shady basements, so you agreed to it reluctantly.
Once you two settled in the café and your drinks arrived, Mr. Bang resumed the conversation.
“I know I put that in the app, but let me say it again. I haven’t come here for sex.”
“What have you come here for, then?” you asked, the curiosity killing you at this point.
Mr. Bang sighed.
“Blood,” he blurted out too quiet for you to debate whether you’d misheard him.
“Don’t get me wrong, you look healthy enough not to need blood transfusion,” you pointed out.
“I don’t need a blood transfusion,” he clarified. “I need to drink blood.”
“Is this some weird kink that is fashionable nowadays? If so, I’m afraid I’ll have to go…”
“No, wait,” Mr. Bang said and grabbed your hand to keep you from walking away. “It’s not a kink. I literally need blood for survival. I’m a…vampire.”
Your initial reaction was to burst into a fit of laughter. What drugs was he on? Once you noticed how deadly quiet he was, how unmoving, how serious his expression was, you felt the need to ask:
“You’re joking, right?”
“I wish I was,” Mr. Bang closed his eyes, as if to hide something painful. You couldn’t believe this…this couldn’t be real.
“Fine,” you played along. “Can you prove it?”
“Not here,” he warned you. “That’s why I suggested a hotel room. I suspected you’d ask for proof.”
“How do I know this isn’t some intricate plot to force me into becoming a sex slave or some shit?”
Mr. Bang laughed again.
“I would have simply stated that’s what I’m after in the app, no? See, the truth is that I’m tired of lurking in the shadows, stalking random strangers. It’s too stressful and time-consuming. I’m simply looking for a companion who would give me their blood every once in a while in exchange for a reasonable sum, of course.”
You stared at him wide-eyed, still in disbelief of what he was saying. Either this man was a total lunatic who really believed his own words or…no, him being sincere was practically impossible. Unless?
“Let’s get a room. I need proof.”
“As you wish, sugar,” Mr. Bang smirked and paid the bill in a very attractive way. You were seconds away from asking him not to call you that when he held the door open for you, which got you all flustered and you forgot about your initial plans.
“Thank you,” you murmured shyly on your way out.
Once the two of you had checked into the hotel, you felt how rapidly your heart was beating. Even though you had suggested it so that you could potentially see proof of his bizarre story, you were so damn nervous you could swear you would die from anxiety. What if he was a serial killer? This was a terrible idea. But he seemed so polite…Why would he kill you? You hadn’t done anything wrong. The second the door of your hotel room closed behind you, Mr. Bang bared his long, sharp fangs at you, causing you to flinch in terror and take a few steps back. What the fuck? He was actually telling the truth?! But this was impossible, you thought.
“If you want to go, I’d let you escape.”
You were so frightened that you couldn’t move at all. Frozen in place, you simply couldn’t react to his words for the shock was too great to bear.
“Did you hear what I just said?” the vampire asked.
You nodded numbly, but still couldn’t find the strength to speak.
“You may go, if you wish.”
But you couldn’t. It was foolish and maybe a bit crazy, but no matter how scared you felt in that moment, the larger part of you was so damn curious. You wanted to stay, you realized. And maybe, yeah, you were somewhat tempted by the huge sum of money being offered. But also, you would be lying if you said you didn’t find Mr. Bang hella attractive. And not just because you had just seen proof that he was, in fact, a vampire. There was just something about his mannerisms, his voice that got you addicted in the brief time of your acquaintance.
“If you drank blood from me…” you started hesitantly. “You wouldn’t kill me, right?”
Mr. Bang smiled mysteriously.
“What’s the point of paying you if I was planning to kill you?”
“If I stay…” you continued interrogating him. “Will you drink from me?”
The vampire took a step closer and tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.
“Only if you consent,” he whispered softly.
“Will it hurt?” you wanted to know, too curious for your own good.
“Of course it will hurt,” he laughed coldly.
“Just get it over with, then!” you gave him the green light and braced yourself to feel the touch of his sharp teeth on your neck.
You closed your eyes in anticipation. Seconds passed and nothing came. You sneaked a peak, utterly confused.
“You need the extra money that much, huh?” he teased you.
“I’m just…so exhausted of working all day long and not getting enough in return. I wish I could get spoiled from time to time, you know?”
“Let me take you out,” Mr. Bang offered gallantly.
“Huh? We just got here,” you argued in vain.
“You said you wanted to get spoiled, didn’t you? So, let me do this for you. New clothes, fancy food, anything you wish for and it’s yours.”
He was joking, right? You hadn’t even given him your blood yet and he was already promising you so many things…
“What about the arrangement?”
“We’ll get there eventually. But first, I want to show you I’m serious about this and I will hold up my end of the bargain.”
“Oh-okay,” you stammered. “What, r-right now?”
Instead of responding, Mr. Bang grabbed your hand and dragged you out.
You spent the rest of the evening under his wing, while he showed you a whole new world of luxury you previously couldn’t even dream about. Mr. Bang spent more money on insanely expensive dresses, bags and shoes for you than all the money you had ever spent in your entire life. Under any other circumstances, you would have called such a pointless waste of cash outrageous, but because you were the one being spoiled, you allowed yourself this little indulgence. After shopping for clothes, Mr. Bang took you to a ridiculously posh restaurant with the most exquisite meals you had ever seen. Once you were full and started getting worried that the new dresses would no longer fit you, he took you for a walk near the river. The city lights looked so magical at night and with him by your side, you became aware of the fact you had never before felt so happy. It wasn’t necessarily his money that influenced your good mood. The mere knowledge that a busy, good-looking man (okay, vampire, but whatever) had just spent so much time on you, taking care of you and indulging your every wish was so attractive that you couldn’t think straight. Besides, his company had turned out to be quite entertaining and during your walk around the city, you had discovered a lot of things in common, such as your shared love for music, dogs and swimming. Moreover, his sense of humour was so unique that you couldn’t help but laugh at his jokes every once in a while.
At around 10pm, you started getting sleepy so you told Mr. Bang that you had fun and that you were grateful for all the time and money he had spent on you, however, there was one thing bothering you.
“What’s wrong?” the vampire asked you in concern.
“Well, the anticipation is honestly killing me. I want to know what it’s like to be bitten by you,” you admitted openly.
Mr. Bang seemed taken aback.
“We’re in public, you do realize that?”
“There aren’t any people nearby,” you pointed out. “Besides, didn’t you say that you used to follow people on the streets?”
“I did, but…I want this to be different.”
“Should we go back to that hotel room?” you suggested.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” Mr. Bang eyed you suspiciously.
“I’m just curious…and I want to ‘pay’ you back by giving you that ‘something else’ you need.”
“You’re a strange creature,” he murmured.
“If it isn’t the pot calling the kettle black!” you giggled and before you could register what was happening, Mr. Bang leaned down and bit your neck. You let go of the bags you were holding and wrapped your arms around him to stop yourself from crumbling on the ground. It did hurt, like he’d warned you it would, but it wasn’t nearly as painful as you had expected. In fact, there was something intoxicating about the venom of his fangs and you could feel yourself getting used to the unfamiliar sting. After he was done with you, Mr. Bang lifted you up in his arms and carried you to sit down on a bench nearby. The world around you was spinning, but you felt uncharacteristically safe in the arms of the vampire.
“It wasn’t that bad,” you shared your thoughts with him.
“If it was another vampire, you would be dead by now,” Mr. Bang explained.
“What, you have some special powers of self-control I should know about?”
“I do, actually. I’m quite restrained in some aspects.”
You found that hard to believe for some reason.
“Do we have a deal, then? Should I sign something?”
“That won’t be necessary,” he informed you. “Human contracts mean nothing to me.”
“Well, I did sign with blood, so…” you joked, earning a chuckle out of him.
“Let me drive you home,” Mr. Bang insisted. “You look tired.”
“Yeah and whose fault is that?”
When you arrived in front of your building, Mr. Bang told you he’d contact you whenever he required your presence and he’d send you money whenever you needed. That wasn’t part of the initial offer in the sugar daddy app, but you couldn’t complain, because it worked in your favour.
“Well, if that’s all,” you were about to part ways. “Good night, Mr. Bang.”
“Oh, and one more thing, Y/N,” he said.
“Yeah?”
“Please, call me Chan. It’s only fair.”
You smiled at him. His name sounded as beautiful as he was.
“Alright, Chan. Good night!”
🧛🧛🧛
He didn’t call you the next day. Or the following day. And the day after that. In fact, he didn’t call you for another week, which left you going back to your schedule. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. It was quite upsetting, really. You had so much fun in Mr. Bang’s…no, in Chan’s company. And he seemed to be enjoying himself, as well. Especially with his teeth stuck in your neck. You shuddered at the thought. Why did it feel so good? Did you have a vampire kink? Why hadn’t he contacted you already? You wondered if he was having second thoughts about your little arrangement. If anything, you were the one who had every right to be troubled by this whole thing. And yet, you were looking forward to seeing him again. You kept telling yourself that this was all about the extra cash and the wonderful feeling of being spoiled and treated like a princess. But there was just something about him…
Another Friday night came. You were making dinner for yourself when you heard your phone ringing. You sighed. It was probably one of your colleagues, you’d call them later. Oh, how wrong you’d been. After you were done cooking and sat down to have a bite or two, you remembered to check your phone. And boy, did you have a mini heart attack! It was Chan! He’d finally called and you’d missed his calls, thinking it was someone else! You immediately let go of the fork you’d been holding and dialed his number.
“Why aren’t you answering my calls?” he asked you the very second he picked up.
“Sorry, my hands were busy,” you explained. Even though you had no idea why you were apologizing. Why was he being so demanding?
“Busy doing what?”
“Um…making dinner,” you responded. “Why? What’s up?”
“I…need you,” Chan groaned and his voice was doing unexpected things to your body.
“Right now?” you really didn’t want to abandon your delicious-looking spaghetti. It would be such a shame.
“Yes,” Chan confirmed. “Can you meet me in half an hour in front of Lotte?”
You didn’t agree to it rightaway. What right did he have to separate you from your dear friend pasta? Why couldn’t he wait a bit longer?
“You still there?” Chan asked.
“Yeah, I’m just thinking. Could you come over?” you suggested bravely. “It’s just…you’re not the only one who’s hungry.”
Chan laughed wholeheartedly, the sound sending waves of pleasure in your ear.
“Inviting a vampire to your home isn’t a very bright idea, Y/N. Are you sure you’re ready for such a big step?”
Screw it.
“We’re both starving, so I’m just suggesting the most sensible solution. I’ll be done eating by the time you get here,” you replied. “I’ll text you my address.”
You hung up before he could argue further and quickly texted him your location. Then, you left your phone nearby and started eating your food before it got cold. You wouldn’t let anything get in the way of your relationship with spaghetti. Not even a very handsome, rich, funny vampire…Nope, not at all. You had just finished your plate when you heard the doorbell ringing. Wow, that was fast. You went to open the door and weren’t surprised to find Chan standing there like a man starved.
“Hey, you wanna come in?” you offered.
Chan didn’t want for another invitation and walked inside, looking around curiously.
“Nice place you got there,” he said, paying special attention to every detail of your little home. “So warm and cosy. So…human.”
You smiled at his unexpected compliment, but pulled yourself together soon enough.
“You can skip the formalities, Chan. I know why you’re here.”
He smirked.
“Oh, really? Enlighten me, then. Why am I here?”
“Well, you said you needed me. You’re hungry for blood, correct?”
Chan laughed, obviously amused by what you were saying.
“Are all humans so direct? Or is it just you?”
“I don’t know. What do you think?”
“I think you’re different.”
“Oh, please, spare me the clichés,” you rolled your eyes. “What are you waiting for?”
Chan made his way towards you in a deliberate manner, like a cat hunting on its prey. You closed your eyes, anticipating him to bite you rightaway. But what took place next was far more shocking. Chan embraced you tightly, not giving you room to breathe, not that you were complaining. It felt quite nice, actually. Being so desperately…needed.
“You’re so soft,” he whispered. “I just wanted to see you again. To make sure you’re real.”
What the hell was happening? You thought he only required your presence for blood. Why was he hugging you all of a sudden? Despite the pleasant surprise, you were a bit worried about his motives.
“If I’m making you uncomfortable, tell me and I’ll let you go,” he mumbled gently.
“It’s okay,” you managed to utter.
“Yeah? Why is your heartbeat so loud, then?”
“Cause I’m nervous.”
“Am I making you nervous, sweetheart?”
“Just a bit,” you confessed.
“Why? You should know by now that I’m not going to kill you.”
Oh, but what if he did something so much worse?
“I know. But still.”
Chan let go of you and you blinked up at him, half-relieved, half-disappointed.
“If I’m going to be your sugar daddy…does that make you my babygirl?” he joked.
You couldn’t resist the urge to punch his chest lightly.
“Shut up, Chan! This is so cringey!” you groaned.
He giggled cutely.
“Okay, okay, I’ll stop. But tell me, how do you want me to call you?”
“My name not good enough for you?” you crossed your arms, pretending to be annoyed.
“Of course it’s good enough! I love saying your name!” Chan reassured you. “But I want to have a pet name for you. And if you don’t like ‘babygirl’, we can think of something else.”
When put on the spot, you couldn’t think of anything else. You had to admit, ‘babygirl’ wasn’t that bad. It was the ‘sugar daddy’ part that gave you goosebumps. But you couldn’t say that to him right after you had denounced it as cringey.
“Whatever,” you shrugged. “You can decide.”
“Hm, how about I call you ‘my princess’? Sounds good?”
It was perfect, actually. You wouldn’t tell him that, obviously. But it sounded like an upgrade.
“Agreed. How do you want me to call you? Other than your name, that is.”
“You can call me anything, my princess.”
You smiled happily and wrapped your arms around his neck. You had a very, very bad idea. Vicious, even.
“I’ll call you glucose parental figure,” you teased.
“You’re terrible,” Chan chuckled. “I love it.”
“Yeah?”
“Absolutely.”
🧛🧛🧛
Things were going great between you and Chan. You two would meet up pretty often, sometimes because he was thirsty, sometimes because you were…In any case, your mutual agreement was working in your best favour and you quite enjoyed spending time around him. He would spoil you like there was no tomorrow and even flirt occasionally, which felt really nice. You would flirt back more often than not, but there was one thing that worried you. Was he serious about this? Because to you, this was beginning to look a lot more like an actual relationship. You had to remind yourself it was actually a business arrangement. As saddened as you were by that fact, you decided it would be better to make peace with it and enjoy the situation while it lasts. After all, you had known what you were getting into the minute you had signed up on that damned app.
One day, you were having a break from work. You wondered how to spend it. You could binge-watch a new show. Or you could try baking muffins. But you’d done both of these recently. And you kinda wanted to try something different, more exciting. You wanted to surprise Chan at work. You knew you couldn’t bring him human food, because his diet consisted of…well, blood, obviously. But you could bring him yourself! Both delightful company and meal! He’d be thrilled! There was one teeny tiny problem. You had no idea where Chan worked…You had known him for nearly three weeks and you still had no clue. It was a bit suspicious. You had told him plenty of things about yourself and your workplace. But he was so…mysterious and secretive. It wasn’t even the vampirism that troubled you. His personality, though engaging, was also perplexing. You were struck by an idea. You decided to…Google him. He looked pretty rich and well-spoken so there was a huge possibility you could find his workplace by lurking around the Internet. You told yourself it wasn’t wrong to check out your glucose parental figure on the web. After all, it was the very place that had brought you together. When you typed in his name you were overwhelmed by the thousands of results. It turned out Chan was the CEO of a music company. How come he never told you about this? How he had managed to be so casual when having a conversation about music without bragging even a little was beyond you. Google informed you that Chan was producing and writing music, occasionally singing and rapping himself. You were flabbergasted by all this unexpected knowledge. Why didn’t he share these things with you? It was a good thing to occasionally take pride in your talents. So why? Didn’t he trust you enough already? You didn’t dwell on it further and simply took a screenshot of the location where his company was supposed to be. You dressed up in a hurry and made your way towards him. Once you arrived in front of the large building, you felt a bit intimidated by its size and the number of guards in front of it. What was this? Prison? You had not thought this through. You noticed people were only entering the building with special permits. You didn’t have one. Which meant you couldn’t get in. Damnit. You started lurking around, hoping some generous soul would take pity on you and let you inside with their permit. Somehow…the miraculous happened.
“Are you waiting for someone?” a young-looking guy with blond hair and the deepest voice ever asked you casually.
“Um…I actually wanted to surprise my su-“ you interrupted yourself. You couldn’t just tell a complete stranger that the CEO of one of the most famous music companies was your sugar daddy. That would be so awkward. “My sweetheart,” you said dumbly. Nice save, Y/N. Brilliant.
“I could call him out for you. I work here, you see,” the guy showed you his permit, rubbing salt into the already painful wound – you didn’t have a bloody permit.
“Well, I was hoping I’d catch him by surprise inside. But I guess that’s impossible…” you murmured sadly, hoping that you’d manipulate the stranger into letting you enter the prison-like building.
“What’s his name?” the blond inquired.
“Bang Chan,” you replied smugly.
“Oh! You must be Y/N, then!”
“How did you know?” you were taken by surprise.
“Chris won’t shut up about you,” the guy said. “I’m Felix, by the way! It’s really nice to finally meet you.”
You shook his hand in confusion.
“Chris?”
“That’s his name, yeah.”
So many secrets…What else was Chan…Chris…not telling you? You were so shocked by all the new information that you momentarily forgot your initial reason for coming here.
“I could sneak you inside,” Felix offered. “On one condition.”
“Sure, what is it?” you agreed without thinking.
“I want to see the look on his face when you surprise him.”
“Alright, that doesn’t sound too bad.”
Felix smirked almost devilishly.
When you got inside, you had another big shock. If the building looked fancy on the outside, it was outrageously luxurious on the inside. The lights! The minimalism! You were utterly transfixed by the expensive furniture that you almost didn’t register the fact that your name was being called.
“The Y/N? You’ve got to be messing with me, Lix!” an unfamiliar voice whisper-yelled.
“Keep your voice down, Hyunjin! Her arrival is supposed to be a surprise for Chris!” Felix responded animatedly.
“He’s going to lose his shit!” the guy who was apparently named Hyunjin warned.
Why? You hadn’t done anything wrong by coming here, had you? You just wanted to see him on your day off. If anything, he was the one in the wrong for keeping so many things from you.
“Come on, Y/N. Chris should be in his office,” Felix said, leading you up the stairs.
“Wait up, I wanna come, too!” Hyunjin ran after you. Oh, dear. If you had known your unexpected arrival would create such a scandal in Chan’s workplace, you wouldn’t have come at all. You hated being the centre of attention. Okay, that was a lie. Maybe you liked it. Just a little. Being surrounded by such sweet and handsome guys was kinda exciting, you had to admit.
Before you arrived to Chan’s office, you noticed something a bit weird. Even though Felix and Hyunjin obviously knew about your relationship (or whatever it was) with Chan, they continued to find excuses to touch your back or hold your hand, which, though nice, was also a bit concerning. Not that you had ever talked to Chan about not being allowed to be touched by other people, but still, a part of you felt…guilty? It was so confusing. Also, you noticed that Felix and Hyunjin were walking in a frustratingly slow manner. And you were using the damn stairs even though you suspected that this ridiculously tall building had an elevator. What’s with that? Moreover, you were fairly certain these two were flirting with you. They kept complimenting your hair and your dress, which made you feel both flattered and uncomfortable. Why were you like this? It’s not like you were Chan’s girlfriend. So what if he bought you nice stuff and you gave him your blood. It wasn’t like that, you kept telling yourself. Expect…you wished it was like that. In the rare, brief moments when he showed some semblance of affection towards you, you felt the most special, the happiest in the world. But then, as quickly as he’d start opening up, he would go back to being cold and not mention anything about the way he felt. Which left you in a permanent state of confusion. What were his intentions? Why was he so…on and off?
Eventually, you arrived in front of Chan’s office and he stormed outside as if he knew you’d be standing there, Felix’s arm around your neck and Hyunjin holding your hand for whatever reason. You felt as if you’d gotten caught in the act. Despite the fact you had tried to push his clingy employees away. But they were too persistent and you initially thought they were just being extra friendly. Oh, well.
“Hands off,” Chan snarled out angrily. Okay, that was new. Never before had you seen him act so…possessive about you. Your heart started beating loudly and he gave you a warning look.
“Chris!” Felix unwrapped his arm smoothly. “Look what we bring you!”
Hyunjin also let go of your hand silently. The way Chan commanded them so easily was kinda hot, you had to admit.
“Get out,” Chan growled at them. “You,” he pointed at you. “Stay.”
The last word was said in a soft, almost apologetic way. You walked into his office nervously and began playing with your hands, feeling uncharacteristically shy.
“I just wanted to surprise you,” you murmured sheepishly. “Felix and Hyunjin were just being friendly.”
Chan rolled his eyes.
“Oh, please,” he hissed sarcastically. “I could hear them flirting with you from three floors down.”
Fuck. You had forgotten that vampires had super hearing.
“Don’t get angry at them. They were just excited to meet me.”
“You should be careful around faeries.”
He was kidding, right? First, vampires, now this? What was next? Aliens?!
“Around what now?”
“Lix and Jinnie are faeries. They can be quite clingy…if you let them. Which you did,” Chan pointed out. Was he blaming you? After not telling you anything about himself? Seriously?
“Hey, you can’t take it out on me!” you defended yourself. “If you had warned me in advance where you work, who you work with and your other name, I would have been better prepared!”
Chan nodded, silently agreeing with you.
“You should have told me you were coming,” he continued.
“Are you mad at me?” you pouted cutely, because you didn’t want to fight with him.
Chan shook his head.
“How could I be mad at you when you look so delicious, babygirl,” he whispered and placed his hands on your cheeks.
You didn’t bother complaining about his pet name for you. It was kinda growing on you.
“Why don’t you have a taste, then?” you replied suggestively.
Chan leaned his forehead against yours and licked his lips.
“Later, my princess. I forgot to tell you something.”
“What?”
“It’s really great to see you again.”
“Yeah? You didn’t seem so happy earlier?”
“That’s because I hate it when someone touches something that’s mine.”
“So now I’m something?” you were a bit offended by his choice of words.
“You know what I meant,” Chan sighed, visibly frustrated by having to explain himself.
“I don’t, actually. What am I to you, Chan?” you confronted him. “You keep mentioning our business arrangement and yet you’re acting like this…I don’t understand you,” you admitted angrily.
“I don’t understand myself, either,” Chan confessed sadly.
“Yeah, well, call me when you do,” you sneaked out of his arms and stormed out of his office.
🧛🧛🧛
A week passed by with no contact from Chan. Things were going so great before you’d come to his office. So, why was he acting so distant? Why hadn’t he called you already? After all, it wasn’t your fault that he was being so secretive. You wouldn’t call him first, you had nothing to apologize for. He had to fix his behaviour towards you. Besides, he kept giving you mixed signals. One minute he’d be talking about your relationship as if it was nothing but business, then the next he’d act all protective and affectionate. It was so confusing and frustrating you didn’t know what to think. If he wanted to talk to you again, he would, you kept telling yourself. But damn, you missed him so badly. His beautiful smile and his wacky sense of humour, his adorable dimples, his sexy voice and his mysterious personality that was also the reason for your conflicts. As if he’d read your mind, Chan finally texted you a string of desperate messages.
Glucose parental figure: I miss you.
Glucose parental figure: Can we talk??
Glucose parental figure: I’m so so sorry…
Glucose parental figure: Let me explain everything in person.
Glucose parental figure: Please??
Glucose parental figure: I need to see you again.
You opened the messages but didn’t respond rightaway. Serves him right. A whole week without a call, not even a text. You imagined him seeing that you had read his messages, but still didn’t give any reply. You wanted to torture him a bit longer, the way he had.
Glucose parental figure: I can see you’re online :(
Glucose parental figure: I sent you my money, pls respond <3
You couldn’t help but laugh at his joke. Just as you were about to reply, your phone started ringing. But it wasn’t Chan like you hoped it would be. It was one of your co-workers. However, it was your day off…
“Hi, what’s wrong?” you asked.
“Y/N, quick! We need your help, it’s an emergency!”
“I’m on my way!” you promised and hurried towards your workplace, completely forgetting about Chan’s pleas.
🧛🧛🧛
Once you had dealt with the unexpected problem at work, you returned home, absolutely exhausted. You lay down on the bed and checked your phone. Oh, fuck. Chan had left you a couple more messages and you also had a bunch of missed calls. All from him. He had gotten so worried and you felt awful for not responding to his texts rightaway. You called him immediately even though it was 2am. He had previously told you that vampires didn’t need sleep.
“Please just tell me you’re alive,” Chan begged.
“I’m fine, Chan. There was an emergency at work…Sorry for not picking up or texting you back,” you explained, even though you had hardly done anything wrong. You were still waiting for his apology for the way he’d treated you during your last meeting.
“Oh, that’s a relief! Listen…about last time…”
“You can tell me in person,” you cut him off. “I’m really tired, Chan. Can we meet up tomorrow?”
“It’s already tomorrow,” he teased you. “But yeah, I get what you meant. Just tell me what you want to do, where you want to go. I’d hate to impose on you.”
You smiled, touched by his consideration.
“How about Lotte Hotel? 6pm?” you deliberately suggested the time and place of your first encounter with Chan.
“I’ll be there. Sleep well, Y/N.”
“See you tomorrow. Well, today, but whatever,” you laughed. And you couldn’t tell him to sleep well, because you knew he wouldn’t sleep at all, he’d forever be in a state of insomnia. But you still wished him good night, because despite everything, you still wanted him to have a nice time. You wondered what he did all night. Maybe he watched something. Or produced music. And with such thoughts, you drifted away.
🧛🧛🧛
“Hey,” you greeted him the second you spotted him and Chan pulled you into a hug.
“I missed that smell,” he whispered.
“You do realize how creepy that sounds, right? It’s like telling a pig how nice it smells right before eating it,” you joked.
“Not like that,” Chan laughed. “I just missed everything about you.”
“Right,” you sighed contentedly. He let go of you and you tried your best not to look too disappointed.
“Before we go anywhere, I want to tell you how sorry I am for being an asshole and that I’d completely understand if you never want to see me again. No strings attached.”
You nodded in a morose manner.
“Okay, well, it was nice knowing you,” you teased, but judging by his devastated reaction, he had taken it seriously. “I’m kidding, relax! Of course, I would like to see you again!”
“Really?” Chan blinked at you cutely and you found it extremely hard to resist the urge to kiss him right there and then.
“Yes, dumbass, I would.”
“So…you wouldn’t say ‘no’ to a surprise?”
“Hm, that depends. Will I react the way you did when I surprised you?” you had to make sure.
“I hope not,” he chuckled lightly.
“Let’s give it a try, then,” you consented.
A couple of minutes later, you two were standing on the rooftop of the hotel. There was no one and nothing else but you and Chan, a table full of food and the city’s lights shining in the night. It was an extraordinary sight, one so special you had to pinch yourself to be certain it was real and not a mere figment of your imagination.
“Wow,” you uttered. “This is…a lot.”
“We have the whole place to ourselves,” Chan informed you smugly. “Nobody can bother us.”
“Chan…” you started, feeling shy that he treated you so nicely. “You didn’t have to.”
“But I wanted to,” he stroked your cheek gently, which felt infinitely sweeter than any material thing he could provide.
“What if I hadn’t come?” you posed a question.
“Then, I would do this every night, waiting for you until you did.”
You shook your head, overwhelmed by emotions you couldn’t quite place.
“You’re crazy,” you closed your eyes, enjoying his touch.
“Come on, the food will get cold.”
You knew, of course, that he intended all this for you, because human food wasn’t to his liking. Initially, you felt a bit awkward to be stared at while eating, but you reminded yourself this wasn’t the first time. Soon enough, you relaxed around him. When you were done devouring the delicious meals, you found yourself inclined to ask:
“Are you hungry?”
“Not in the way you’re referring to,” Chan giggled.
“Oh?”
“I have something to tell you. You stay right here, okay?”
“Okay?”
Chan got up from his chair and from somewhere on the rooftop, pulled out a freaking guitar. What was he doing? When he came back to you, he knelt down next to you and started playing it, while singing.
“Use the sleeves of my sweater
Let's have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity's centered
Touch my neck and I'll touch yours.”
You started tearing up. The emotions in his voice were unlike anything he’d ever showed you before. What was he doing to your poor heart?
“Cause it's too cold whoa
For you here and now
So let me hold whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater.”
It was getting progressively harder to look him in the eyes as he sang his soul out. Your blurred vision was also not helpful. He was affecting you in a way you hadn’t felt before.
“Y/N…I know that in the beginning, I told you I wasn’t looking for a romantic relationship. I know that the way we met wasn’t traditional. I know that I’m a vampire and I probably couldn’t give you as much warmth as a human could. But I also know that the way I feel about you is special. I know that my life was a shell before I met you. I know that if you let me…I would do my best to make you happy. I guess what I’m trying to say is…I really like you, my princess.”
“Chan…” you whispered and placed your hand on his cheek, rubbing circles with your thumb. “I don’t know what to say. Despite the initial arrangement, I fell for you. And…that’s why I got so upset last week. Because I didn’t think you liked me back.”
“I’m sorry for being a fool and not telling you sooner,” Chan replied.
“It’s fine. But please, don’t ever keep secrets from me anymore, okay?”
“I will try,” he promised. “I really want to share my whole world with you.”
Chan leaned down swiftly and captured your lips in a passionate kiss. He pressed his hands against your back and kept pulling you closer, not wanting to waste any more time. You enjoyed the light chill his touch was sending your way and wrapped your arms around his neck. You couldn’t help yourself and moaned into his mouth, as he squeezed you tightly. A while later, you realized you needed to breathe. You gently untangled yourself from his grasp.
“You’re as cold as ice,” you said softly, not meaning to upset him, just pointing it out for some reason.
“You’re willing to sacrifice our love!” Chan immediately burst into song again.
“Oh my God, Chan, you’re so annoying!” you scolded him playfully.
He gave you another kiss, this time on the cheek.
“You like that about me, no?”
“Are all vampires like you?”
“Oh, no, babygirl, trust me, there are no vampires like me.”
You shook your head in disbelief.
“Listen…now that our relationship has evolved,” you started. “You should probably stop paying me...”
“You can’t stop me from wanting to spoil my princess,” Chan stroked your hair gently.
“No, but seriously! I want to be able to call you my boyfriend in front of people…”
“You’re ashamed of me being your glucose father figure?” he continued tormenting you with his ridiculous sense of humour.
“Will you shut up already and go back to kissing me, please?” you complained needily.
“As you wish, sugar,” Chan relented and came back into your arms…

Letting out a groan as the sound of pots and pans woke you up, looking over you see the bright number of 6:39am flashing making a louder groan pass your lips. Of course on your day off Hoseok wants to make breakfast at the buttcrack of dawn, the sun wasn’t even fully raised not even shining through the cracks of your blinds. Rolling out of bed, your  eyes land on the discarded sweatshirt that you had probably ripped off in a sleep hased in the middle of the night. Grabbing it you throw it over yourself and make sure your shorts aren't riding up too high between your thick thighs, sighing you reach down and unplug your phone.  You stumble slightly out of your bedroom and into the kitchen to see the brown hair boy moving around the kitchen, his eyes looking over to see you and gives you a soft smile.
“Morning ladybug.” His words made a huff as you opened the fridge door, grabbing a bottle of iced coffee. Cracking it open you take a huge gulp making Hoseok let out a soft laugh as he looks at you and place the fried egg onto a plate and hand it to you. Smiling slightly at him you moved to sit down at the table, the rice next to you  as you grab a spoon full and shovel it into your mouth, manners way out of your thoughts as you see Hoseok sitting down next to you. “Ladybug, I hope you remember to have manners outside these walls.”
“Shut up.” You grumble making his laughter grow, as he started eating as the two of you sat in silence you heard your phone ding making you look to see Namjoon had messaged you. Opening up your phone you let out a small sigh, wishing you were able to figure your way out of the question he asked you. Though you found humor in the following message, making Hoseok look at you with a small smirk.
“Boyfriend?”
“Oh shut up you dick.” You grumble, making him snort as you move to open your messages.
Namjoon: Are you free today?
Namjoon: Jin and me with a friend are going to the new coffee shop a block away from ours
Y/n: Gotts spy out the competition I see
Namjoon: Of course, who's the best person to take with me? My best customers
Y/N: Who’s this other person?
Namjoon: My friend Yoongi, he’s at the shop almost as much as you. I'm honestly surprised you haven’t run into each other yet.
Y/n: Chill. Time and place see you then
Letting out a sigh you look to Hoseok who had a curious look in his eyes as you handed him your phone, taking him as you scroll through his instagram feed, as he scrolls through your messages with Namjoon. He nods his head as you watch him swipe out and move to an app, probably snap with the faces he started making.
“Streaks with Joy, Jimin, and Johnny have been sent.” You chuckle as you hand him back his phone, the like photo of EXO on screen making him huff as he exits out of his feed as you do the same. “So this Namjoon guy is who you and Minnie visited yesterday?”
“Yeah he runs the Kim Coffee Shop down the street from here, I’ve been going there for about a year. It's where I was going after school for my extended learning, remember on exotics.” He looks at you, his head tilted, reminding you of a literal dog, till his eyes widen.
“Oh that shit three months of you literally not sleeping.” Chuckling at his words you nod, your eyes turning down to your now empty plate, as you take one last spoon full of rice.
“It's the place I’d go to study after work, and before I came here to do my homework. It was a nice middle ground, where I could get distracted but still stay focused.” Nodding you get up and stretch, doing the rest of your Coffee, as you move to the kitchen with your dishes. “I call the bathroom first.” You said moving back down the hall to your bedroom to grab your change of clothes, and then leading to the bathroom. Finally getting ready for the day. Yet when you think about it, you can’t help the shivers rushing down your spin.
______________________________________________________________________
Letting out a breath as you walk down the street, your earbud hanging down as you stop at the corner of the street, your eyes casting side to side the dark cloud above you makes you adjust the hood above your head. You couldn’t help but slightly rush across the street , especially when Namjoon caught your eyes. He couldn’t help but smile brightly as he throws his arm over your shoulder and begins to walk beside you.
“So what's the plan?” You ask as he looks to the sky, his head tilting as he looks back down the ground. A dimpled smile hidden as he looks forward and lets out a breath of air.
“You believe in the red string of fate, right?” You couldn’t help but let out a snort, as you look at him, the look clearly making him realize how stupid of a question that as to ask you. “Ah yeah of course you do..well.. Anyway we are gonna meet Jin and Yoongi at the shop. Then we’re gonna see what type of stuff they have and if it's better than ours.” Nodding you look forward, his question still lingering in your thoughts as you clear your throat.
“What was with the questions Joon?” Sighing he looks at you and smiles, his arms falling off of your shoulders his hand moves to rest in yours as he swings your hands. Making you chuckle as he looks at the sky and smiles.
“Rainy days are always the best, aren't they?”
“Avoiding the topic isn’t gonna work...but yes, yes they are..most of the time when the weather is like this I just sit in my room with a book in hand..that or I sleep all day.” You chuckle as he giggles, his eyes shining as you felt the cold drop of rain against the top of your cheek as you look at Namjoon. “So what was that question for?”
“I just..I just have a feeling today...a feeling I had the day I met Jin...shivers...a bit of...annoyance even.” His words had you nodding as you rub your thumb on the back of his hand.
“I felt that too..I woke up not wanting to do anything..but then you messaged me and I was annyyed that you didn’t want to see me then..stupid I guess.” You said dropping his hand as you see Jin. He was wearing a large brown coat, matched with a black turtle e neck and skinny jeans. His hair was a bit of a mess, most lilly from the wind, his phone in hand as he looked up as Namjoon grabbed his hand, the fiery red plussing onto Jins skin as the baby pink pushed back onto Namjoon. A smile lifts on your lips as Jin's eyes catch your, and his smile seems to grow.
“Moon! Thank god you made it, Yoongi seems to be running late. He might not make it, he  said he was up all night in the studio. He said this new label kids JK took up all his time.” Nodding you rock slightly on your heel as you look down to another store across the street, the coffee shop open for business and people rushing in and out.
“Looks a little plan.” You stated, the statement turned, it was filled with vines in the front, no wood cabin like feel,  like theirs. It felt plain and simple, somewhere where maybe people would run to cause it looked like it wouldn’t be busy.
“That's what I said when I saw it the other day driving home, it's just too simple looking.” Jin grumbled as he moved to stand beside you, nodding as the three of you moved to cross the street, the wind whipping around you as you felt another cold drop of rain on the top of your head. Sighing as you step in, you see a few empty tables.
“Who’s at the shop?”
“My brother taehyung.” Namjoon said, his eyes scanning the menu, moving furrowed to order and from what you could tell for all of you. His eyes scanning the prices, much more expensive than his own. Sighing as he pays, you move to a table with Jin, as Namjoon moves to sit with you two he lets out a groan. “Your small black coffee was eight buck..six for a small black coffee I..I swear if it doesn’t taste good I will.” He cuts himself off with a deep breath, look you saw the baby pink splashing against his neck and his ear as Jin runs his fingers through his hair. “Sorry about that Y/n.” Nodding you look at them and couldn’t help the smile lift on your face, your phone buzzing.
Minni: I legit hate owners sometimes this women just fucking threw the paper work at me cause I said facts. That her dog was malnourished and there should be a change in diet. I almost THREW hands.
Y/n: Wait is it the lady with that brown mini poodle?
Minni: YES. the one where the nails were literally diggin into one of the pads last MONTH this dog needs a better home.
Y/n: I mean do you think she’d surrender him to the clinic?
Minni: Probably not, this woman seems to have her head shoved up her ass. I’ll try and see if I can get a surrender, ttyl.
“Who’s that?” Jin asked, making you look up as you clicked your phone off and slip it back into your coat packet.
“Jimin, he’s in the clinic today and the owner who we had issues with in the past came in. Nothing special.” He looks at you with a tilt to his head as all of a sudden Namjoon sets a cup in front of you.
“Why don’t I believe you.” He chuckled, making you huff as you smile, taking another look out the window, shiver rushing down your arms, making you shake your head slightly. “Cold?”
“I little, I guess.” You said as Namjoon huffed and sat back down next to Jin, your eyes landing on the extra cup next to yours.
“Took five minitutes to get four simple drinks, I would’ve had these out in three.” Chuckling you look to see a paper cup, with a black lid.Taking a smell you couldn’t help but frown, it smelt good. Namjoons eyes widen as you give him a look, his head shaking as he takes the cup and smells. “Just cause it smells nice does not mean it will taste good.” Sighing, you take the cups back and blow into the cup, slowly moving the lid to your lips as you take a sip. The warm bitter liquid filled your mouth, the perfect twing of sweetness made you hum as you frowned at Namjoon. “No. No….you’re our coffee demon. Stop.”
“It tastes okay.” You lied, it was amazing, though you didn’t like it that even sitting in even had  paper cups, you liked the more home feel. “Plus I miss the mugs we get when we sit in.” Letting a shiver pass as you see a body moving past the glass window, and the door opening, your body feels warm then cold.
“Jin Hyung.” A voice calls making your eyes close, a shiver rushing down your spine at the tone, at the voice. He was on the slightly shorter side compared to the two men in front of you, he was also in pretty much all black, black jeans, leather jacket but his shirt was grey tone. He was in leather boots, and he had a snapback on a black mask covering his chin as he licked his lips as he looked at your table. You watch Jins head turn as a smile grows on his face, his  head nodding the seat next to you. “Hey Namjoon.” His name made the upset man turn around as he followed the body of Yoongi as he moved to sit down next to you, heat filling the side of your body closest to him.
“Hi Yoongi hyung...I swear if ethier of you stop showing up at my shop I will murder you.” His words had you giggling as you looked at the black hair man. Shaking your head as he grabs the cup Namjoon handed him, taking a sip his eyes widen slightly making Namjoon groan. Both of you sighing as you open your mouth.
“You're closer to my place.” You and this Yoongi said at the same time, making Namjoon and Jin slightly jump as you look to the man next to you slightly and smile. Maghony..black coffee colored eyes stare at you, swirling with some emotions you wish, wish you could read.
“Y/n.” You said with a slight bow of your head, Yoongi nodded back as he cleared his throat and out stretched his hand.
“Yoongi.” placing your hand in it, your felt a zap, making you hiss as you look down at your hand, expecting for both of you to brush it off. But you froze as you looked to see ink like black splashed on your palm and wrapping around the top of your hand. Your eyes widen as warmth spreads through your body, looking to see a gold like color reflected off of his pale skin as he looks down at his hand. Lips parted in almost aw, as he moved his hand in front of his face. Then his eyes snapped to your own, the already faddin color making him reach forwards and touch your hand again. Watching the black ink color splash against your skin, as gold spread through his made him drop your hand in pained wince. His body moved quickly to remove himself from the table. “Fuck.” He whispered, his hand clutched to his chest as he turned to leave the shop, coffee cup spilt as Jin and Namjoon called after him.
Your body frozen as you watch the one person in this world, who was connected to you, who was supposed to accept you. Run away. Running away from you. Making insecurities rush through your veins, wanting to curl in on  yourself into a ball as you blink your eyes rapidly, trying to hide the tears.
He left you in tears, body shivering to hold his hand again.

Your head is pounding with a headache as you come to. Mentally checking your body, you already expected to be bound to a chair. The air was damp and cold and smelled of death.
“Y/N.” Your body tenses instinctually at the low commanding male voice.
“I know you’re awake.” You lift your head up slowly, squinting in the barely lit room. A man with perfectly combed back blond hair, dressed in a finely tailored suit, with dress shoes so well polished even in this bad lighting they shine, sits a couple feet in front of you in a much more comfortable looking chair than yours, lazily playing with the multiple rings on his fingers. His gaze finds yours and your breath catches. A gaze so cold that makes your spine shiver, so void of emotions, exuding so much confidence, so much power.
“Hwarang.” You stiffen at the forbidden word. Your breathing quickens and you feel like you’re about to vomit.
“Park. Seo.”
“STOP! Don’t! Don’t say it.Don't say his name” You scream, your voice trailing into a barely audible whisper.
Eternity passes. You lick your dry lips, slumping against the chair, any energy left in your body gone. “What do you want from me.”
“Good girl Y/N. I guess your father did train you very well. He hid you very well you know. An you would have been left unfound if all of this didn’t happen.” He sits up, placing his elbows on his thighs, hands entwined under his chin. “How rude of me not to introduce myself. I’m RM.” His eyes searching yours as recognition of the name dawns on you. “Leader of Bangtan.” The leader of the largest mafia in control of the city for years now.
“What a good little girl Y/N! Yes, you are correct. Leader of Bangtan, sitting across from Hwarang’s princess. Who would have thought?” His dark chuckles echos off the damp walls, taunting you further. You grit your teeth at the pet name you loathe. “What do you want, RM.”
“I want to offer you a deal. Work for me.”
“What’s in it for me. I don’t really see a deal here.”
“Work for me, and I’ll give you what you’re due. You can do what you love. I know you miss the shadows baby. I’ll make sure you’ll have a blast with us. I’m offering you the chance to do what you were raised to do. It’s in your blood.”
Your blood is boiling. You hate it. You hate all of it, every word that spilled out of his mouth. You hate what you felt when you couldn’t rip the burglar into shreds yourself. You hate how you loved the feel of your body making Redhead bleed and bend over in pain. You hate how you spit and smile and say, “deal.”
“Welcome to the team!” Dr. Kim hands you a bag of ice as you walk up the stairs back up into where you had the little spat. You thank him timidly as you take the bag of ice and hold it to the back of your head. “Everyone. Meeting in 5.” RM leads the way to his office while you trail behind him, taking in your new home. A spacious living room with comfy looking couches is situated across a beautiful modern kitchen, and to the right of the kitchen you manage to spot the dining room. The stairs lead to a long hallway with multiple doors that are all closed. You assume that they are the sleeping quarters for the guys, as well as RM’s office.
He opens the only grand double wooden doors on this floor and leads you inside to his office. He points to the couch, where you quietly situate yourself, nursing your throbbing head. RM sits himself behind his desk, as the boys file in. Dr. Kim comes in first, flashing you a wink as he takes his seat to the left of RM. Redhead and Suit guy come in next and sit next to the doctor, followed by a boy who looks much too young to be in this profession. He gives you a shy bunny looking smile before taking a seat next to Suit guy, followed by a guy who literally is dancing his way into the room. His brown locks with blond highlights bounce with his fluid movements as he gives you a wide smile and dances into his seat next to Bunny. Lastly, a pale, scrawny looking guy with mint hair looking like he would rather be in bed than here shuffles to his seat on the right of RM, completing the circle. The couch you're sitting on isn't part of the circle, but the seats were maneuvered slightly so that you were somewhat in between Dr. Kim and Redhead.
RM clears his throat and instantaneously the room falls quiet. “A little introduction is due for our newest member.” He glances you way before continuing. “As you know, I am the leader of Bangtan. I go by RM, or Kim Namjoon in this house. This.” He makes a gesture towards Dr. Kim. “Is my right hand man Kim Seokjin, also known as H during missions. He’s the face of the Kim Enterprises which Bangtan uses as a cover, handles the press and police authorities when things get.. messy, and also the strategist. Next we’ve got V, or Taehyung who specializes in arson. He’s a little insane, but that’s how we like it here. Especially when interrogating people. Then we have Jimin or M, our top assassin. He’s your guy if you want someone dead, or to disappear. He gets his way, always.” Jimin flashes you the most charming smile your eyes have ever been graced with before he sits back in his seat, face serious. “JK, or Jungkook is our muscle. His looks might be deceiving but that works in his favor when his fist meets your face when your guard is down. In a pinch, he’s your guy. Next we have Hoseok, or Hope. He knows every gun or weapon on this planet and how to use it. He’s all sunshine and guns. He knows all the in’s and out’s of underground dealing. You need something, he knows where to get it.” Hoseok gives you the piece sign with a matching bright smile. “Lastly, we have Yoongi or Suga. He’s our top hacker and intelligence gatherer. No secret is safe from him. Now. Y/N, care to say a few words about yourself?” The entire room’s attention turns to you.
You gulp before you awkwardly remove the ice from your head and onto your lap. “H-Hi. I’m Y/N. I’m a pharmacist.” Not sure where to go next, Namjoon speaks up again. “You may or may not know her. She’s the daughter of-“ you tense up again, squeezing your eyes shut to brace yourself to hear the name you despise. Namjoon notices. “She’s the hidden princess of Hwarang.” Curious eyes filled with shock take a closer look at you. You let your held breath out, but wince at the petname. “Y/N, also known as Poison, will play an essential role in using her knowledge to our benefit to allow us to better capture our targets. We have a few days off, take this time to familiarize with each other, work with each other. Dismissed.” Namjoon looks down at his paperwork, signalling he’s no longer interested in us being in his office. The boys shuffle out and you’re the last to follow, throwing one last glance as Namjoon, who never once looks up as you close the double doors.
Your mind is reeling before Hoseok’s face pops in front of yours. “Y/N! I’ll show you your room!” He’s hopping from foot to foot as he leads you down the hallway. “I’m so excited that you joined the team! I didn’t know how it would go at first, but I think you made the best choice! I can’t wait to see you in action!” He rambles on as you follow slightly behind him. He stops suddenly, and spins around to face you. “You can call me Hobi if you want, everyone calls me that here! This is your room! I’m next door, and the other neightbor is-“ Hobi is pointing at the other door when it opens and you see Jungkook. He stares at you before he comes to his senses and slams the door closed as he jumps back into his room. “He’s….a little shy around women. Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll come around soon. I’m so excited to finally have a badass chick to work with! It’s just been full of guys and it get’s really testosterone-y ya know? Anyway, it’s been a long day, I’ll leave you to it. Goodnight Y/N!” Hobi waves at you even though you’re in such close proximity as he heads into his room next to yours.
You cautiously open the door and walk into what is now your room. The room is decently sized, with a comfortable looking bed with simple sheets, a set of wooden drawers for clothes, and an en suite bathroom, in which you spot a bathroom as well as a shower. Without a second thought, you strip and fill the tub with water and finally, finally, you enjoy that bath that you’ve yearned for.

Tumblr media
Ding-Dong.
"Yah, Y/N-ah," You heard Jungkook call from his room. You had a terrible week and your closest friend/roommate asked you to watch some movies with him so that you can wind down and just chill. "The pizza's here. I don't have cash. Can you pay for it?"
You groan, stepping out of your room. It was typical that Jungkook would ask you to spend time with him but ask you to pay for the food. You had a tiring week and this was the only way you could wind down - chilling with your roommate. He was one of your closest friends and you decided to get an apartment when you two needed a place to stay.
You didn't mind it though because he usually pays you back or treats you to dinner the next time you spend time together. You missed this and thinking about it made you smile ear-to-ear, until... you opened the door.
"I thought you were the pizza guy." You rolled your eyes, and just let the door fly open. Yoongi just grinned as he walked through the door. You tried to ignore the person you opened the door for because he made your blood boil and your panties wet, but you weren't going to tell him that.
"I was the pizza guy for a few months," He snickered, making your roll your eyes once more. "But not anymore. I found a better job, if I needed to remind you, Y/N,"
"You don't need to," You gave him a fake smile, "how can I forget if you mention it every five minutes?"
"Well, it's because it's worth mentioning, my dear Y/N. It’s not everyday I get to be an executive assistant for the best music producing company in Korea! " He says, as he falls into the love sofa. He loved saying it out loud because he worked so hard for it. "And what flavor pizza did you get?"
You scoffed, not facing him. "I don't know." You mindlessly start scrolling through your Instagram feed. “I didn’t order it. You can ask JK.”
You just didn’t want to look at his face because it would make you one of two things - annoyed or flustered. You didn’t have enough energy tonight to go through those things. Tonight was supposed to be simple - hang out with your roommate and watch movies. That’s it! Why was he making it hard for you? Yoongi getting me flustered every 5 minutes was not part of the agenda.
"Why are you always on your phone?" Yoongi asked, genuinely curious as to why you don't interact with him as much as he wanted you to.
He wanted to talk to you, to hear your voice. However, you mistook his words. You were offended by them. You thought that he was judging you and your actions. You started to get annoyed by his casual talk with you as if you were close friends.
"Why do you care?" You replied, annoyed by the sudden question. He was just the best friend of your roommate. You wanted to be nice in the beginning but he was annoying you and liked to push your buttons. He knew that he was pushing your buttons and he enjoyed it. He thought that you looked cute whenever you got mad at him.
He thought he could rile you up with the question, “Why can’t you get a better personality?” But he didn't think about the consequences of his words.
You were having a rough day and then this comes along. It was annoying and it made you snap. You rolled your eyes, threw a pillow at Yoongi and scoffed. “Fuck you.” You murmured, then stormed out of the room.
Why did shit keep piling up on your plate? You tried your best to be good to everyone. This was unfair!
Tears well up in your eyes and you hate yourself for it. Why did his words affect you so much? Why did his words have so much weight? Why did his words make you self-conscious? You didn't even like the guy! Or maybe you... do? You were balling and you didn't even realize it. Your face was now wet with tears and you just used the sleeve of your jacket to wipe off the snot that was coming out your nose. That was attractive.
---
You tried your best to sleep. You tossed and you turned, but to no avail. You didn't even enjoy the night with your best friend. You were waiting a couple days for this night and this happened! What a disaster. You kept thinking about how annoyed you were at Min Yoongi.
You found his face annoying, and you always hoped he’d shut up. But Maybe you could shut him up with your mouth or maybe he would shove his face into your pussy, both are very nice options. You’d forget your own name either way. It’s a win-win.
Wait, what? You thought to yourself. What did I just think about? This was wrong, you repeat to yourself. You were annoyed at him! Not hot and bothered. Get with the program, dammit!
You couldn't take it anymore. You wanted to end this suffering (and by suffering, you mean the way that you wanted Min Yoongi to touch you) so you decided to meet with an old friend, porn. You wanted to get off as soon as possible so that you could fall asleep.
You bring your middle finger to your sex and slowly touched yourself. You hissed at the contact because you weren't going to lie and say that you weren't wet when you saw Min Yoongi. No one can make you admit that, but it was the truth. You thought that your best friend's annoying other best friend was hot. You had eyes for crying out loud! The way he stares at you can make you whimper, if you couldn't control yourself.
A moan escaped your lips as you thought about how Yoongi looked tonight. If only his annoying mouth could be more useful, you'd be screaming his name by now. You were moaning as quietly as possible, feeling good, but not better. It felt good, but you knew it wasn't enough. It was either you had to change your position or watch some more porn. You couldn't focus on your video because the thought of Min Yoongi on top of you was making you go rougher than usual. The thought if Min Yoongi's hands all over you made you release a loud moan. Immediately, you shut yourself up by placing a pillow near your face so that you could bite it when you couldn't hold in a moan.
Would my hand be enough? You thought to yourself as you continued.

---

"Hyung, why did Y/N suddenly leave again?" Jungkook asked, for the nth time.
"Jungkook-ah," Yoongi stared at the younger. "I already told you! I was only talking to her. I tried making conversation."
"Maybe you said something..." He scratches the back of his neck. "She's not like that. She just storms off when she feels helpless and that if your words affected her."
"Why would my words affect her?" Yoongi thought out loud, he was meant to keep that in his head but the younger one just shrugged. Not knowing how the underlying feelings of both his best friends were growing without any of their knowledge.
“She was really happy before you got here,”
“Wow, thanks for making me feel welcome.” He huffed, crossing his arms. Slightly offended by his words. “All I wanted was to see her annoyed, not pissed.
“Why are you always at each other's throats?”
The older one started to think. He wasn’t exactly sure, but every time that he saw you at least slightly annoyed he would find that you were cute. You looked hot when you’re mad, he wasn’t going to lie to himself. And when your arguments and bickering would get heated, you would have this hot look on your face that would make him feel restricted in his pants. He would get hard at the thought of you.
He just shrugged at Jungkook, not wanting to tell his best friend that he had the hots for his other best friend.
"I may have said that she should get a better personality..." The older one murmured, suddenly realizing that his words were quite harsh.
“Hyung!” Jungkook gasped, eyes widened. “Y/N is very insecure about that. You shouldn’t have said that to her.”
“I know…” He answered quietly. “I’m sorry.”
“Yoongi hyung, you shouldn’t say that to me.” The younger said, taking a gulp from his drink. “Tell that to Y/N.”
“Yah, Jungkook-ah, can’t you just tell her for me? Hmm…” Then he started pouting, trying to act cute.
“It’s not that hard hyung,” The younger one pointed out. “Just go to her room and apologize.”
“But… she might shout at me.” He was making excuses, but hey he thought they were valid.
Jungkook rolled his eyes and just threw some chips at the whining baby.
“Fine!” Yoongi gave up, raised his arms in the air. “But if she shouts at me, you’re going to buy me dinner. I’m hungry as fuck.”

---

Yoongi spent exactly 2 minutes and 38 seconds staring at the mirror in the bathroom trying to rehearse the things that he will say to you. He didn’t want to mess up and seem more of a prick than he already is.
“Y/N,” He said, “Look, I’m sorry… I never meant to say those things to you. That was really shitty of me, and yeah…”
“Y/N…?” There was nothing but silence on his side of the door, but he could hear a slight whimper on your side of it. The first thing that came to his mind was that his words may have affected you a little more than he initially thought. It’s been an hour since you left for your room and you were still crying?
His stomach fell to the floor. He felt worse that you were hurt by his words. He felt sorry, he wanted to tell you so bad. Why weren’t you responding?
Yoongi quietly turned the knob on your door and slowly pushed it. He entered the doorway and was ready to see a crying, sad you. But he was only met by an eye-closed, hands in your pants Y/N. He was about to turn around when he heard you moan his name, which caused him to accidentally bump into the chair that was weirdly placed near the door. Why the fuck did he not see that?
“Oh my God,” You shouted, removing your hands from your core. You were getting at a good pace and it only started making you feel good. “What the fuck? What are you doing here?”
“Y-Y/N, I was here to s-say sorry…” He stammered at his words. “I didn’t mean to interrupt you.”
No words were said after his apology. You were nervous that he had heard you. Your face was turning red because of how he stared at you.
“I just wanted to apologize,” He repeated, his hand at the back of his neck. “I’m sorry. I never meant to say those words.”
“Okay, Yoongi.” You finally said, “Now go!”
“I never meant to say those words.” He said once more, now he was repeating things.
“You already said that. I get it alrea-” He cut you off.
“Did you mean to say my name as you touched yourself?” He heard you. Fuck! Your breath hitched as he got close to you.
“It sounded like heaven, Y/N. I never thought I would hear you say my name and when you did,” He paused, you noticed his hand was moving towards you. You stopped breathing at this point and you could hear your heart through your ears. “I snapped.”
He placed his hand on your thigh, giving it a slight squeeze. “Can I touch you?” You whimpered again. The same whimper which he thought was you crying. He had a full blown hard on right now because of the way you were responding to his touch.
“Y-Yoongi,” You stammered, out of breath. You were lacking the stimulation that you wanted, “Please touch me.”
His hand found its way to the place where you needed it the most, and it felt good, too good. “Does that feel good, huh?” He wanted assurance, making sure that he wasn’t stepping out of line. “Do you want me to continue?”
When you didn’t respond to his question, he stopped and removed any contact with you. Your eyes shot open, whining at the loss of sensation.
“I need you to say it, Y/N.”
“Fuck,” You groaned, “please touch me, Yoongi.”
“You don’t need to beg, baby.”

---

The night ended with Yoongi in your bed, and Jungkook falling asleep on the couch, waiting for his best friends to make up. He didn’t expect them to make out, and… other stuff.
After doing the deed that night, you explained to him why you were affected by his words and everything started to make sense. It was your way of coping with your insecurities, and you were his way of being happy.
You were happy with your setup with Yoongi. He would come over sometimes, you’d pretend to fight, and this leaves an unknowing Jungkook drooling on the couch while the movie was still playing as you two fucked until you couldn’t move anymore.
You trusted Yoongi, and he trusted you. But it was in your bones that having something constant, being so happy was never good. It would always end up in misery. When you finally accept that things are great and that you don’t have a care in the world, the world crumbles in between your hands. You were never ready for a relationship and you made it clear to Yoongi when you were weeks into your setup. It wasn’t something that you were looking for right now, that’s why specifically had to mention it to him.
But he fucked up, he caught feelings. He started to develop feelings, attachment, and love for you. He understood your feelings and your worries. Every day, he tried to help you understand where he was coming from. He tried to tell you how much you mean to him, but you just wouldn’t get what he meant. He, too, was afraid to love. He was afraid that you would never accept his feelings, so he never told you.

---

He tried to make it seem as if it was only pillow talk but he wanted to hear your thoughts about your relationship. If there was a possibility that you’d take a step forward, but your answer only broke his heart.
He didn’t have the balls to tell you that he loved you. He wanted to hold you in his arms, lift the burdens off your shoulder and love you so hard that you’d overdose with happiness.
He was hurt, but he knew you were in pain too. His love for you was strong, but he wasn’t as strong. He was a coward and cowards flee. This was his plan, run away from the pain instead of suffering.
He didn’t tell you. He didn’t tell you that he was leaving, that he was going to go by dawn. He made love to you. He felt content when he saw that you were falling asleep with a smile on your face.
“That was fun, Yoon.” You barely whispered. “Thank you for that.”
“No worries, love.” He caressed your face, helping you sleep faster. The faster you sleep, the better. It would make him leave faster, but he knew that it wouldn’t hurt any less. “Go to sleep. I enjoyed tonight. It was my favorite.”
When your eyes shut, finally falling asleep, he kissed your forehead and whispered, “I love you.”

Didn’t Ask For This Pt 13 (Roommate!JK x OC)
A/N: So we’re getting closer and closer to the end now! I’m still trying to figure out where exactly I’m ending the story so I’m not sure just how many more parts there will be... If I had to guess, there will be 4 more after this one! I hope everyone will stick around for the end of Jungkook and Ari’s story!
Summary: “I didn’t know you hated me so much,” he spoke as he grabbed my wrist and once again turned me around to face him, “and quite honestly, I don’t think I’ve done anything horrible enough for you to hate me to the degree that you do.” “You say that like the hate isn’t mutual,” I remarked as he shook his head. There was a bitter smile on his face as he took a deep breath, “I think you are quite honestly one of the worst human beings I’ve had to come in contact with.”

The day was off to a good start since my fever was officially gone. I was relieved to say the least, because I really needed to talk to Hoseok tonight. I was going to tell him everything and apologize profusely for wasting so much of his time.
Hopefully it’ll go well, but I wasn’t holding my breath.
Jungkook and I ran into each other as he exited the bathroom and I was about to head to the bathroom. He had a tired expression on his face, his hair haphazardly sticking up in several different places. I couldn’t help but smile as he looked at me with a questioning gaze.
I reached up to fix his hair as he froze in place, almost leaning into my touch the longer I had my fingers in his hair. He closed his eyes and started to lean into my touch. His forehead laid against mine as I felt my heart begin racing. He put on his cologne today...
I looked up at Jungkook to see his eyelids. He still had his eyes closed...
I smiled and moved my forehead from his, tilting my head to get a good angle to press my lips to his. His eyes opened from my forehead’s sudden absence, but when he realized what was going on, he smiled and leaned in to press a kiss to my lips.
“Have you been talking to Hoseok recently?”
Taehyung’s voice sounded from his room as both Jungkook and I jumped. We stepped away from each other as I moved my hands from his hair and spun around to see Taehyung walking out of his room. He just barely missed the very questionable stance we had just been in.
“What’s with the sudden question?” I asked as I felt my nerves spike a little. I didn’t exactly want Jungkook to know that I had spoken to Hoseok. He obviously wants me to reject the guy even as rudely as over text, so I could only imagine his reaction if he realized that I was meeting with Hoseok behind his back.
“I talked to him about you yesterday, so I hoped that he might text you or something to check up on you,” Taehyung frowned as he moved past the two of us and turned into the kitchen. I walked toward the kitchen as Jungkook followed behind me.
His eyes narrowed when I glanced back at him, trying to keep myself calm.
“I didn’t hear from him. I guess he didn’t have as much fun on our date as I thought.” I said the words to try and calm Jungkook down, but his stare didn’t back down even a little bit. I was about to deny anything again, but Jungkook cut me off.
“Bull shit.”
He practically spat the words at me as I noticed Taehyung’s face contorted in surprise. I swallowed and turned to face him, but he already had his mind made up.
“He spoke to you, didn’t he?” Jungkook took a step closer to me as I felt panic rise in my chest. I glanced over at Taehyung who was the picture of confusion.
“I said that he didn’t talk to me,” I simply stated with the calmest voice I could muster. Jungkook’s eyes moved to glance behind me before he swallowed and looked down. He was still really pissed, but at least he wasn’t grilling me for information.
“Hoseok did mention something about you,” Taehyung looked up in thought, his memory becoming my biggest enemy, “Oh yeah! When I brought up that I had texted you but got to reply, he told me that you seemed okay to him.”
“Thank you, Taehyung,” I smiled and closed my eyes, feeling my nerves spike. Jungkook’s gaze was back on mine as I felt like I was boxed in with no escape.
“Okay, I talked to him for a little bit, but it was just for him to check on me,” I didn’t think that my words were going to help my case judging by Jungkook’s increasing annoyance. I wasn’t sure whether to be worried or glad that Taehyung’s present, because I would be getting an earful if he wasn’t.
“Okay, does someone want to tell me what’s going on?” Taehyung took a step closer to me as Jungkook’s eyes finally left me. Since Taehyung hadn’t been able to see Jungkook until just now, he had no reason to hold back on his intense glares. I once more felt relief wash over me that Taehyung was here.
Then again, if Taehyung never popped up in the first place, Hoseok wouldn’t have been brought up in the first place.
“It’s nothing,” Jungkook spoke, but his voice was very strained. Taehyung didn’t seem to notice as Jungkook started walking off into his room. My eyes filled with worry as I watched his tense figure disappear as he stepped into his room, “I have a call to make.”
Taehyung and I were left in silence as I couldn’t help but frown. Call? Who’s he calling? I hope to God he’s not calling Hoseok…
Taehyung turned to me to ask me what had happened, but he stopped short when he saw my face. It was as if he could tell just how stressed and upset I was. After all of that, I didn’t have the will to hide any of my pain.
“Are you okay, Ari?” Taehyung asked as he reached out to touch my shoulder. I tried to relax from his touch, but the touch I truly wanted was from the man currently making a mysterious phone call.
I just nodded his way and tried to muster the best fake smile that I could.
“Never better.”
...
“Taehyung, can I talk to you for a second?” Jungkook spoke as he walked into the living room where Taehyung and I were. Taehyung looked at him with an interested look on his face as he nodded and glanced my way. I held back my urge to look their way as Taehyung stood up and followed Jungkook down the hall.
They stepped into Jungkook’s room for a while as I felt something stir within me. I was dying to know what they were talking about, but I wasn’t going to be nosey like I had been in the past. With the luck I was having today, one of them would catch me in the act.
Ten minutes later, the two of them walked out of Jungkook’s room as I felt my nerves spike. What could Jungkook possibly have said to Taehyung? It wasn’t like the two of them never talked to each other in private, but for Jungkook to make a statement like that in my company meant something was up... Especially after the jealous episode he just had.
“I don’t know why you thought I’d be mad,” Taehyung spoke with a shrug as he watched Jungkook slip on his shoes. Where was he about to go?
“I just wanted to talk to you about it is all,” Jungkook spoke as he avoided my eyes. I shamelessly watched him as Taehyung glanced my way. I didn’t filter my curious gaze as I could see the hints of worry in his eyes.
“Have fun,” Taehyung waved as Jungkook started heading for the door.
“Whoa, hold up,” I stood up as Jungkook froze with his hand on the doorknob. “Does anyone wanna tell me where Jungkook’s going?”
“He’s…” Taehyung drew out the word as the tried to think of what to say next. He seemed to panic mid-sentence, but my mind was more focused on Jungkook, “He’s just going out to meet a friend of ours.”
“What friend?” I stood up from the couch as I didn’t fail to notice Jungkook spin around and lean against the back of the door.
“This has nothing to do with you, Ari,” his voice was serious, but I couldn’t take him seriously. He couldn’t be real right now…
I wanted to argue with him, but since Taehyung was right in front of us, I had to hold back. I sure as hell wasn’t letting him just walk out the door.
“What friend?” I continued to press as Jungkook’s intense stare didn’t falter. What’s gotten into him? Is he trying to make me jealous? Surely not… “Jungkook, tell me.”
“Just because you like me doesn’t mean I’m obligated to tell you where I’m going,” he snapped as I flinched.
“Okay, what the hell?” I asked, my voice breaking as I felt my whole body slowly begin to shake. He didn’t have to say that, and he certainly didn’t have to say it that way.
“That’s not cool, man,” Taehyung defended me as Jungkook looked up at the ceiling for a couple seconds. He took a deep breath and nodded before visibly calming down. Taehyung took a step closer to me as I felt a whole bucket of emotions dumping on me. This was one of the only times I can recall Taehyung sticking up for me while Jungkook and I were arguing. “The least you could do is pretend to be nice to her. She confessed after all.”
“Okay, I’m sorry,” Jungkook spoke quickly after Taehyung finished talking. I bit the inside of my cheek as I felt stress building up in my being. I didn’t like the fact that we were still doing this back and forth thing. I thought we could get past this…
Though I wasn’t totally innocent in this situation. I did try to hide the fact that I talked with Hoseok...
“Tell me where you’re going, asshole,” I kept my voice steady as my harsh eyes met his. I stood as close to him as I could with Taehyung standing there watching us. For my next words, I practically whispered them so that Taehyung couldn’t hear them.
“You don’t tell me and I don’t tell Hoseok about us. Looks like a second date is happening,” I crossed my arms across my chest, but Jungkook was good at holding back his reactions. He glanced at Taehyung who was increasingly worried and confused over the two of us.
“Go right ahead,” Jungkook spoke as I felt my entire being freeze in shock. Okay, what? That didn’t make any sense coming out of his mouth! What was all that stuff yesterday and the day before that?
“Jungkook,” I looked down, only to look back up with a softer look than before. I wasn’t mad anymore. I was just scared that Jungkook had lost his mind. What was all of our conversations before now about? And Jungkook has been very clear on his feelings for me… Surely he wasn’t playing some game with me. “What the hell?”
Jungkook looked at the door to get away from my upset gaze. He put his hand on the door knob again and started to open the door. I took a deep breath as I watched him walk out without saying another word.
“I’m sorry, Ari,” I heard Taehyung speak as I just stared at the door. I almost couldn’t believe what had just happened. Did Jungkook really just tell me to schedule another date with Hoseok? After all the arguing we did about him, I was so pissed that he would say something like that to me. I didn’t even care if he said it out of rage or if he said it because Taehyung was within earshot.
Now all I was thinking about was if I was actually going to schedule a second date. I really truly shouldn’t do that to Hoseok… If I thought that this was the end of Jungkook and I, I would probably feel differently. The only reason I would ever consider going on another date with him would be because I’m terrified of turning him down. He’s just such a nice person to be around…
But I would feel like garbage the whole time that I was around Hoseok because I’d consciously be aware of my motives the whole date. I just need to suck it up and get it over with.
“Ari?” Taehyung’s voice brought me out of my thoughts as I looked up into his worried eyes. “Are you okay? I’ve never wanted to smack him more than I did just then.”
I let a small smile appear on my face as I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his left arm. I snuggled into his side as he looked down at me and ran his free hand up and down my arm.
“If Jungkook and I were somehow… to become a couple,” I started speaking as I felt Taehyung stiffen, “could you learn to be okay with it if it makes me happy?”
He was quiet for several seconds, but I didn’t try to look at him. I took several deep breaths to prepare for what he was going to say, but he never said anything.
He lightly pushed me away to look into my eyes as I felt my nerves spike. His face was blank, devoid of emotion, but his eyes were full of worry. I waited patiently for Taehyung to say something as we both stared the other down.
“You don’t seem very happy to me.”
I blinked a few times as Taehyung’s blank expression morphed into a frown. He put a hand on my arm as he softly caressed it. I tried to let his touch comfort me, but I was too focused on what he said.
“Well obviously not at this current moment,” I spoke softly, my eyes trailing off behind him, “What if Jungkook is only treating me this way because you don’t approve?”
I was trying to subtly put the idea in Taehyung’s head that Jungkook likes me, but he didn’t seem to be buying it.
“So you think all that he is seeking is my approval?” he asked, suddenly gripping my arm. He looked even more upset before, but it was a sympathetic sadness. I nodded in response, but he didn’t seem to like that answer.
“Ari,” he let out a breathy laugh, but it was empty. The slight smile on his face didn’t last long as he took a deep breath, “If Jungkook truly likes you, he would have already tried to talk to me about it.”
I felt my mood shift to become very defensive at his words. I felt myself getting worked up as I tried to not second-guess anything. What Jungkook and I have is real. I don’t want Taehyung feeding other ideas in my head!
“What makes you so sure with that statement?” I felt my voice growing panicked as I tried to calm it down, “You’ve been pretty intimidating and protective of me. He’s probably worried that he’ll lose you as a friend.”
“Ari,” Taehyung called my name again, more pity being laced in his voice. Taehyung needed to stop looking at me like that. Jungkook loves me! I know he does! I felt it that night on the roof. I saw every soft expression on his face, I felt it from every kiss he gave me.
It wasn’t just a hookup that meant nothing. Jungkook loves me, no questions asked!
“If Jungkook liked you in return, he wouldn’t have asked for my permission to meet up with your old friend, Soomin.”
I felt my muscles stiffen as I looked up in Taehyung’s eyes. He was messing with me. “Taehyung, you’re not funny.”
“I’m not being funny,” Taehyung shook his head and looked at the floor so that he didn’t have to look at me. “Why would I lie about something like that when I know it would hurt you?”
“But why would he go meet with her?” I felt my hands shaking, tears building up in my eyes. I couldn’t help but think back to all that Soomin said about wanting to get Jungkook back with her. For all I know, she’s been pestering him constantly and he just never bothered to tell me.
But why the hell would Jungkook actually willingly go and meet with her? Surely he wasn’t trying to hurt me on purpose, even over all this Hoseok drama...
“He told me he wanted to catch up with her,” Taehyung slightly shrugged as I took a deep breath, “I think he’s also going to apologize to her or something? I asked him if he was and he didn’t confirm nor deny it.”
I spun around to get my face out of Taehyung’s view as I felt my lip quiver. I fished in my back pocket for my phone as I shakily opened up Jungkook’s contact in my phone. I hadn’t used it once since he’s been here, but I was relieved that Taehyung had put his number in for me just in case.
“Ari,” Taehyung called as he tried to grab my phone, but I was faster than him. I rushed across the room and pressed the call button, holding my phone to my ear. “Ari, he’s probably just going to forward you to voicemail. He seemed pretty pissed off! Just try to forget about him and maybe talk to Hoseok-”
“Tae,” I sniffed as I wiped away the few tears that had fallen down my cheeks, “I want you to listen to me and listen to me well. I’m in love with Jungkook. I don’t want to try and forget him and move on when there’s a possibility of something there.”
“But what if there isn’t?” Taehyung’s eyes narrowed, but his expression was still filled with worry, “What if he truly doesn’t feel anything for you like that?”
“Then…” I paused as I heard the sound of the call going to voicemail. I felt my breath catch in my throat as I shook my head and started to call him again, “Then I’m the biggest idiot in the world if that truly is the case.”
Taehyung tried to walk over to me and give my any kind of consolation, but I wasn't having it. I walked away from him and started down the hallway towards my room, heartbeat increasing with every ring. Taehyung rushed after me as he spotted me walking into my room, moving to close the door behind me. He moved to block the door from closing as I felt more tears fall from my eyes. None of this was real… This whole morning has just been a bad dream…
“If he really doesn’t feel anything for me-” I took a shaky breath, another tear falling as I heard the automated message for his voicemail again. I tightened my grip on my phone before dropping my hand to my side, allowing Taehyung to push my bedroom door to get a better look at me.
“-He’s possibly the worst human being on this earth.”
::
Jungkook didn’t come back all afternoon, and by the time for my shift rolled around, I didn’t want to get out of bed. Taehyung and I sat and talked for a while about random things as he tried to get my mind off of Jungkook, but it was only a temporary fix. The moment he left for me to get changed, I was right back into my depressed state of mind.
Once I arrived at work, I felt my mood darken further. I was scheduled to work with Chaeyoung and Jimin, and those two were being very touchy. I wasn’t doing a good job at hiding my jealousy when they weren’t looking, but when Chaeyoung would smile over at me, I’d send her my most convincing fake smile.
I felt my grip tighten on my broom looking at the two of them holding hands. They had toned down the PDA over the past two hours, but even seeing them holding hands put me in a sour mood.
I couldn’t help but remember how right it felt for Jungkook’s hand to be in mine. The day that he angrily dragged me through the halls after catching Chaeyoung and I in the closet came to mind the most. He looked so angry and his grip was so firm, but it was the first time Jungkook truly made my heart skip a beat.
It took about three hours until Chaeyoung finally realized how upset I was.
“Ari,” She grabbed my arm to catch my attention. She had let go of Jimin to rush up to me, and I felt my nerves spike, “Ari, are you okay?”
I took a deep breath as I looked down, not fully ready to tell her everything. How is she going to react to what all Jungkook and I have been through since I last spoke to her? I certainly don’t want her to get so angry that she yells at him or anything…
But I have to tell her something because she knows that something is wrong.
“It’s a long story,” I started, but Chaeyoung wasn’t having it.
“And you have all night to tell it while we’re cleaning theaters,” Chaeyoung stated as she moved ahead of me to stop me from walking, “You’re making me really worried, Ari. This is all because of Jungkook, isn’t it?”
I looked away from her as my breath hitched in my throat. My muscles tensed as my eyes locked on to the eyes of Hoseok. I had completely forgotten about him coming up here. This was not going to go well.
“Oh God,” I spoke as Chaeyoung raised an eyebrow. Instead of looking in the direction of my gaze she continued talking. I felt my panic increase as Hoseok started walking in our direction.
“What did he do this time?” She continued grilling me as I turned my attention back to her. “Did he say something horrible? Do something horrible? Did he yell at you?”
“Chae,” I called as she stopped talking, “We need to put this conversation on hold. I’ll explain everything later.”
“Why later?” she whined, but her question was answered when Hoseok finally became earshot of the two of us.
“Hey Ari. Is now a good time?” he asked as Chaeyoung spun around in surprise. She looked completely shell shocked at his appearance as I moved away from her and nodded. I felt my stomach twist every which way as I moved closer to him. I had no idea how this conversation was going to go.
“I’m gonna take my dinner break now,” I told Chaeyoung as Jimin appeared next to her. She just nodded with dumbfounded look on her face. I was not looking forward to telling her this story…
Hoseok and I sat in his car in silence as I looked out the window nervously. The only noise in the air was the whir of the air conditioning blowing in our faces. The parking lot was fairly empty looking despite how many people were going to the movies tonight.
“I don’t know how I’m going to talk about this,” I spoke with complete honesty. Hoseok looked at me and leaned against his door, turning his body to me.
“That doesn’t sound like this is going to be a good conversation,” he observed as I let a bittersweet smile appear on my face. Despite how horrible I felt, he still managed to make me smile…
“I wish I could make this a good conversation, but no matter how I look at it…” I paused and looked down at my hands that were holding each other, “this isn’t going to go well.”
“Well, hit me with your worst,” Hoseok spoke, nodding for me to go ahead, “You’ve built up the anticipation, so this better be all that you’ve made it out to be.”
I smiled once again, amused with his wording. He was being so… cool about my vagueness. He knew that I was about to reject him, yet he still had a smile adorning his face.
“I’ve had a lot of fun with you every time I’ve been around you,” I spoke as his expression didn’t shift even a little, “Our date the other night was the best date I’ve been on. Well, let me rephrase that. It’s the most fun I’ve had with a friend in a long time.”
Hoseok’s eyes softened as I let out a little broken laugh, “Our date is the only date I’ve been on, so saying it was the best date wouldn’t mean much.”
“I’m flattered, really,” Hoseok nodded, saying no more as he let me continue.
“I look at you and I see… quite honestly one of the most perfect men I’ve ever come in contact with,” I paused as I saw a smile spreading across his face, “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted in a man plus more…”
It was silent for a couple seconds as I continued to gather my thoughts.
“But?” Hoseok leaned forward a little as he re-adjusted his position to make himself more comfortable.
“But…” I nodded, looking back down at my lap. My nerves weren’t getting too out of hand, and I could only assume it was because of how calming Hoseok was. He patiently waited for me to continue as I tried to muster up the courage to admit it to him. It was a very intimidating thought, but when I looked his way again, everything seemed to fall into place.
“I’m in love with Jungkook.”
I was startled by my own words despite having said them many times before. I had only intended to start off telling him that I was in love with someone else, slowly easing into telling him that Jungkook was that ‘someone else’.
Hoseok’s eyebrows raised at my sudden confession, and I felt my heart breaking at the slight look of hurt in his eyes. It was masked quickly as Hoseok let out a sigh, looking up at the ceiling of his car.
“I didn’t see that coming to be honest,” he shook his head, the smile slowly fading away. I kept playing Hoseok’s hurt expression over and over in my head, growing sick over the thought. That’s exactly what I was worried about… That look right there was the last thing that I wanted to see on him.
And the fact that he was hiding it very well made me paranoid for all the other emotions he could be hiding from me… I could feel my body becoming more tense, and Hoseok seemed to notice that I’d gotten more on edge since I let that secret slip.
“I’m sorry,” I spoke, shaking my head in shame. I closed my eyes and put my face in my hands for a couple seconds, “I didn’t mean to be that blunt.”
“No,” Hoseok grabbed one of my arms and pulled it away from my face. I looked intently in his eyes, my worried ones searching his for any more hidden emotions. “It’s okay. I’m guessing that Taehyung doesn’t know…”
I shook my head, “He actually does know. He just doesn’t like the idea of Jungkook and I…”
Hoseok nodded as I looked down again.
“Don’t tell him any of what I’m about to tell you, please,” I said, feeling his soft eyes watching me, “I want to be the person to tell him. I don’t want him to hear it from anyone else.”
Hoseok held up his hands as if to show him surrendering, “You have my word.”
I sat in silence as my mind flashed to the man in question. All day, every time I thought about Jungkook, I’d feel stinging in my heart. All I had been reflecting on was all the negative events that had happened a few short hours ago.
But in this moment, all of our good memories were flooding to me. I memorized every kiss and every caress, chills running through me at the thought of his touch. I recalled the smell of his cologne and how heavenly it smells to me. I smiled at all the times Jungkook had broken his tough manly exterior to give me a look of concern. Soft Jungkook made me want to grab him and never let him go…
I felt the words flowing naturally out of my mouth as I began explaining everything to Hoseok. I started with how much we use to hate each other. I moved on to explain how we grew closer despite not wanting to, and the closer we got, the more I fell in love.
I spilled my heart out to the man in front of me, coming up to the events that happened right after our date. I debated whether or not to disclose the rest of this information since I was so worried about hurting him, but he had seemed fine throughout the night.
I decided to continue on with my words as Hoseok seemed to slightly stiffen at my confession. His look of hurt made me stop my explanation as I started to apologize yet again.
“No, It’s okay,” he shook his head, “I mean, of course it makes me sad, but I just really liked you. I’m not going to hold anything against you. Please finish your story because I can tell there’s more to it.”
I was reluctant to continue, but Hoseok had talked me into finishing the story. I didn’t filter anything out at I mentioned everything. He knew about the soft words only to turn into harsh arguments. I even told him about Jungkook’s insane jealousy problem, ending with informing him that Jungkook doesn’t know that the two of us were meeting tonight.
Hoseok wasn’t surprised in the slightest hearing about Jungkook’s jealousy. The two did used to be kinda close in high school, so I guess he already knew Jungkook was the jealous type.
“I j-just…” I stuttered, feeling so many different emotions overwhelm me, “I can’t apologize enough for how much of your time that I’ve wasted…”
Hoseok just shook his head, sending me a selflessly soft smile. Despite all the things I had told him and all of his feelings that I stomped all over, he was smiling at me. It was comforting at first, but after having finished telling him everything, I just felt wrong. I felt like such a horrible person, and I had no one to blame but myself.
“Every part of your life happens for a reason,” Hoseok spoke, breaking myself out of my sad thoughts. I tried to nod to agree with him, but I found my body staying still.
“Do you think that Jungkook is in my life to stay here?” I looked down at my lap as my own words crashed into me like a wave of negativity. For the umpteenth time, I was crying over Jungkook again. “Or do you think that this summer, the time I’ve spent with him, was all just so I know what it’s like to be in love?”
I blinked away the tears as the silence in the car was deafening. It wasn’t a very fair question to ask him, but I couldn’t help it. Hoseok is the only person outside of Jungkook and I that knows the full story behind us.
“Ari,” Hoseok called, drawing my attention to him as I heard his voice quivering as well. I felt worry fill my whole being as I noticed his eyes were growing red. Oh no. Oh God no. Hoseok was crying now? All because of me?!
“I’ve known Jungkook a long time. Sure, we’re not super close or anything, but I’ve seen him go through some relationships,” I felt my heart tear into a million pieces as a tear slipped from his eye. He was quick to wipe it as I felt my supply of tears re-enforcing. “I saw him go through small uses like him breaking off a fling, all the way to him being devastated over a break up. He really tries to keep you from thinking about it, but the kid has a heart, too. He might have possibly one of the most breakable hearts out there.”
I looked down to wipe more tears away before looking back up to Hoseok. My hand reached out to grab his to try and comfort him. He looked down at our hands in surprise as I gave him a reassuring squeeze.
“Jungkook’s heart being fragile?” I almost laughed at how unreal it sounded, “He acts like his heart is made of stone or something.”
“I know,” Hoseok laughed through his tears that seemed to be coming to a slow stop. He looked out his door’s window as I just watched him. “It sounds strange. To my understanding, the kid got hurt in the past and has tried to block his heart out. He laughed in the face of love and anyone that tried it on him. I thought he was just being a moody teen when he became so cold in high school, but to know that he’s still trying to do that to this day has me pitying him even more.”
I felt myself choke up as I felt my brain recollecting everything between the two of us. I recalled every argument from the day he walked in to present time. There had always been something I would see in his eyes when we would go from bantering to yelling. He hid it so well that I barely noticed it, but the look was there. I never understood what it was or what it meant, but thinking back on it, I realize what those looks were. Those were the real, raw Jungkook slipping through for me to see.
Ever since the night on the roof, Jungkook’s been a whole mess of emotions. He would go from the sweetest man alive to the most hurtful person every few hours, and I think I started figuring it out. He knows he’s in love with me, but he can’t help but be terrified that I’m going to hurt him like girls in his past. So every time he gets the least bit hurt, he blows everything out of proportion to try and save himself.
“H-he…” I swallowed, sniffing to try and clear up my nose, “He met up with my old friend, Soomin, today.”
Hoseok glanced over at me in surprise, wiping away the last of his tears. He seemed to have calmed down, and I wished I could calm down, too. “This is the girl who’s high school life he ruined, right?”
I nodded before continuing, “She told me that she wasn’t going to forget him and she wanted to actually date him. You know, the same day Jungkook and I first kissed.”
Hoseok nodded, remembering what I had told him a little bit ago.
“So for him to go and meet with her out of the blue just because he’s mad at me…” I looked out the window to try and calm down as Hoseok patiently waited for me to continue, “I can’t help but feel betrayed. It’s not my fault that I’m a decent human being and wanted to explain everything to you in person.”
“You did the right thing,” Hoseok reassured, “Jungkook is just too blinded by jealousy to think about how other people might feel. You just need to talk to him about all of this. Not only that, but you really need to talk to Taehyung, too. Sure, he’s really protective of you, but he’s your brother. He wants you to be happy, even if that means that you end up with his best friend.”
I took a deep breath hearing Hoseok’s words. If Hoseok had told me this yesterday, I’m not sure that I would agree with him…
But witnessing what I did today with how soft Taehyung was with me… maybe Hoseok’s right. I’ve been so concerned with Taehyung and how he’ll take Jungkook and I being together, but he’s my brother. He may not be happy with us at first, but he’s never been a person to hold a grudge for too long. If that were the case, he and Jungkook would not be friends for as long as they have.
“You’re right,” I felt my tears drying up the more I thought about it all, “I can’t believe that it took you telling me for me to realize that.”
Hoseok just sent me a soft smile as we sat in a comfortable silence for several seconds. I glanced at the time on my phone for a second, but my eyes caught sight of something else.
I had received a call from Jungkook.
I took a deep breath and realized that he called only two minutes ago. I guess I forgot to turn my ringer back on when I went on my break.
I looked up to Hoseok to tell him that I really needed to go, but he spoke before I could.
“You should probably call him back,” Hoseok nodded as I swallowed and nodded in agreement.
“I’m sorry I have to go,” I frowned, but Hoseok just waved me off.
“It’s fine.” he smiled and watched me as I opened the door to step out of his car, “If it’s not too awkward for you, I would love to at least be friends. I won’t try and make any moves on your or anything.”
I smiled and let a soft laugh out of my nose. This is exactly how I wanted this night to go, and I felt euphoric over the fact that something went right for once.
“I would love that.”
::
A/N: Sorry to cut it off before the phone call, but this was the best cut off I could give. I hope you enjoyed this part!! Finally Hoseok knows the truth, so all we have left is Taehyung~

Chapter VII
It was coming to the end of their relationship and I think she saw it before he had. But from talking to Ben all the time now, and also being Becky’s friend, I saw it coming before they both did. One day I remember Becky told me she was tired of always feeling lied to and that she’d heard that Ben was talking to other girls too. She told me she was going to break things off with him and I didn’t know what else to say but, “Awh I’m sorry, I really did think you guys would be great together.”
She then said, “No, it was never great, It always feels like he’s lying and he keeps denying that he’s talking to other people. I get that we’re young, but if exploration was all he wanted, he should’ve just told me. I fell for him and I just can’t do it anymore.”
Unsure of what now to say, I just looked at her and made a goofy face to try to cheer her up. I told her not to worry about it, she was right, she was still very young. We still had much left to live for and that if he wasn’t the one, someone else would be. She smiled and we went about our day.
Later in the evening I got a notification, it was Ben. He was upset and said he didn’t know what was wrong with him because Becky told him it was over. I was trying to calm him down going back and forth trying to get him to understand that it really wasn’t the end of the world. And then I said something I probably should not have said but take it as you will. Unsure of how to get him to calm down I wrote, “Hey look, I’m sorry it didn’t work out with guys but it’s not the end of the world. For example, you know how I used to be trying hard to be straight? I was miserable. But once I figured out what was going on inside of me, I started to feel better. I stopped trying to be something I wasn’t and I feel better because of it.”
Did I mention straight boys like to hear what they want to hear? He did just that. All he replied with was, “I’m not gay.”
Which I proceeded to tell him, “I never said you were, I was just using my life as an example. Sometimes there’s things going on underneath the skin that you can’t see, but they’re there and you can’t hide from it. Once you understand yourself better, you can start to understand others better.”
I got no reply.
Ben was in my fourth hour gym class but he hadn’t said anything to me all day. Even though we used to see each other a lot in between classes, today it felt like he’d been avoiding me. When he saw me come into the locker room I could tell he was uncomfortable so I didn’t say anything. I got dressed to go in the pool since it was Friday and I went on to class. During class we were all in the pool and everything seemed normal, minus him ignoring me. Towards the end of class whenever we’d go swimming, the teacher would allow us some free time to swim and play for a bit before class was over. I didn’t really like being around people in that pool so I got out and sat on the bleachers with some of my friends. Ben stayed in the pool to play catch with his friends, but once the teacher blew his whistle to get out, everyone started making their exit out of the pool. Ben was one of the last people to get out, but when he did the water on his shorts were pressing on his skin and you could see through them. My eyes were glued cause I’d seen Charlie’s dick the year before, but Ben’s was noticeably bigger. And the funny thing is, I wasn’t the only one who noticed. Cause Ben looked down when he caught me looking at his shorts, and he started looking nervous. I didn’t know how to react because I’d never gotten caught staring at a guy like that before, so I just smiled at him, looked down, and bit my lips. He looked around for a second— I’m assuming to see if anyone else was looking, and then started walking towards me. I was with my friends so I wasn’t sure if he was actually coming towards me. But then he stopped in front of me.
Now this normally wouldn’t be a surprise that he walks up to our group after the pool, but he’d been avoiding me all day. He hadn’t said a single word to me since our conversation the night before, so I said nothing. When he stopped in front of me, I was sitting on the bleachers so my eye sight was at his waist. He started talking to some of the girls in the group and I was just sitting there trying hard not to look at it. He then started talking to me like nothing was wrong. However he was looking down on me the same way Charlie had looked down on me when I was pleasing him. What was really going on though? Why did he ignore my message the night before, and now had his crotch in my face. I was admittedly turned on a bit but this was my friend’s now ex-boyfriend and I was unsure if I should even think much of it.
Eventually Ben and I started talking more on Facebook. He never responded to the message but he was now hitting me up again for advice or just to see what I was up to. He started confiding in me a whole lot more as the time went by. I’m not too sure what the conversation was but I remember telling him something along the lines of “Well I like both guys and girls. That’s always a thing too. And honestly you’re a really great guy from what I’ve gotten to to know about you, you’re cute, smart, funny. And you have a big dick, anyone would be lucky to have you as their boyfriend haha.”
He replied with, “Haha thanks, wait, how do you know how big it is?”
Now, I know I should’ve probably responded differently, but what I just read was a straight-claiming guy not getting mad at me for complimenting his dick. So I decided to try to set up a response that may hint to me what was going on in the pool that day. I told him, “Well, you remember a few weeks ago at the pool after we had that conversation where you thought I was calling you gay? Well, that day when you got out of the pool your shorts were rather tight and then you walked closer and well, I enjoyed the view haha”
It didn’t take him long to respond but he said, “So you were looking haha, it’s okay, I’ll take it as a compliment lol.”
Now being curious to see what his response would be, I jokingly said, “Yeah, wouldn’t mind seeing what I could do with it haha.”
It took him a moment to respond but he said, “Haha, well I’m not gay sorry,”
I told him, “I was kidding haha, kind of. But I know you’re not gay, I’m just saying head is head. Jk haha”
Now I know it didn’t necessarily take just this one conversation to get him curious. But eventually me throwing more jokes in like that every now and then, he eventually responded with just sent one word, “Okay.”
Unsure of what he meant by that I said, “Sorry, I know I mess around a lot but you know I’m just joking around right? You can always tell me when it gets uncomfortable and I’ll stop.”
He quickly responded by saying, “No, I meant okay. Let’s do it.”
Feeling surprised and still slightly confused, I responded with, “Wait, you actually want me to suck your dick?”
Which he said, “I mean, I doubt it’ll get hard but I’d let you try if you want.”
Unsure of how to respond, I said, “Okay. Sure, when and where do you want to do it at?”
He asked me, “Can I come over someday?”
Nervously and for good reason I responded with, “Sorry, my parents don’t know I’m into guys so I can’t do it there.”
After a few seconds of no response, I asked him, “What about at school? We could do it during lunch in one of the back bathrooms since there’s no classes back there at that time and everyone else should be in lunch?”
He read it and then said, “Yeah, that could work. But we can’t tell anyone, this has to be between you and I.”
I responded with, “This will be our little secret. Don’t worry about it.”
After going back and forth for another hour or so, we decided it was time to go to sleep so we said our goodnight’s and went to bed.
The next day came and again, the feeling of nervousness was running through me. I was excited cause I already knew what I’d be dealing with when I went down on him. I had that one experience with Charlie so I should be able to work with Ben the same way, only Ben was noticeable bigger. I kept on thinking throughout the morning about what was about to go down at lunch that day. By now we’d switched class schedules so I was in my French class before going to lunch. If you were in my French class in middle school, you’d know we didn’t really do anything. Madame Landrum would spend classes yelling at us to be quiet, pay attention, etc. But we were young and most of the time would not be quiet. Besides the point, during class that day we’d been doing a group activity where we’d have to figure out French words’ English meaning from each other. So being talkative was a huge part of the activity that day but I had too much on mind. And if you know me, whenever I have something on my mind, if I think about it too much with too much already going on around me, I absolutely will forget what I am thinking about.
As the class is ending, I got distracted by my table and started talking about what we were going to have for lunch. The bell rang and all the talk about lunch had me hungry, so I go find my group of friends and we go wander the hallways saying hi to everyone we know. Eventually the bell rang so you either had to be in class, or in lunch. By now I hadn’t even thought about Ben since earlier in class, mostly because I was used to seeing him in the hallways before lunch. Not thinking about him at all, I made my way towards the lunch line and I was the last one there. All of a sudden something felt off. I was standing there trying to figure out what was different but I could not put my finger on it. Then from my peripheral view I saw him. It was Ben. And then I thought to myself, “Fuck.”
I tried to get his attention to tell him to head back to the bathroom but he wasn’t looking my way. I thought he was mad and now I felt like he thought I’d been avoiding him all day, even though I’d just spent the whole day non-stop thinking about him until I got distracted. It was tough gaining back his trust after then because he thought I was just setting him up to be embarrassed, but eventually we were talking again. Only this time, I was starting to develop some feelings for him. I’d never actually talked to anyone the way I talked to him. Eventually one day out of the blue he said, “I love you.” I know we were talking about trying things together and kind of flirting with the idea of being together. Except there was always one thing holding us back, the closet. “The closet” is famously known in the gay community as the limbo we stand in before coming out. The closet however is where most of my fears developed. And one of my biggest fears was meeting the right person and never being able to show them how I really felt because of being scared to be seen. Except now I wasn’t scared. I wasn’t in the closet but there was this “straight” guy saying he loved me. I didn’t know what to think but I started to like him more and more.
After I came out, I learned that not everyone will accept you and not everyone will want to continue being your friend. Though it was hard no longer being friends with some people, I had never felt more relieved in my life to at least be able to be free at school. It may have been the bare minimum of freedom, but it felt great to no longer have to always put on a face for people there. But some people stay scared and unaware of the freedom that stepping out of that space brings. Some people go through their whole lives hiding because of the fear of what everyone may think. He was hiding. He was scared and he didn’t want to admit it. He didn’t want the world to know about our conversations so he stayed in hiding. And me now have fallen for him, I hid with him. Everyone knew I was bisexual, but nobody knew that I had only ever had one guy on my mind. Ben. Nobody could know because Ben was still saying he was straight and I didn’t want him to ever think that he couldn’t trust me. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough. He eventually got a girlfriend and I started feeling lonely again. He was still talking to me from time to time, but now it felt like he was pushing those thoughts away. He was denying the last few months that we spent talking, day and night. But I wanted nothing but happiness for him, so I watched him go on with his life one bad relationship after another. We stopped talking in high school after rumors started floating around about us. He thought I told everyone I sucked his dick, when in reality someone else that I trusted bent my words and used them against me one day. I didn’t just lose friends when that happened, I lost the friendship with the guy I’d fallen for in middle school.
He seemed happy the last time I saw him. I think he was visiting home from college and I saw him at Steak n Shake with some of our old friends. None of them said anything to me as I walked in cheerfully with my friends. I remember the look he gave me though. It was the same look he gave me when we were at the pool. But by then I was too far down the rabbit hole I called my life, to care about him or what I wanted us to have back then. I’d been broken by someone who at this point may have broken me for everyone else I’d meet. I try not to regret any of my life choices, because in the end they created me, but losing your friendship was one of the hardest things that happened to me. Reading the rest of this book you’ll find yourself asking how you could’ve possibly had a huge impact on my life compared to the other things. But losing your trust was the first big regret in my life. Mostly because I’ll never know if you got your feelings figured out. I don’t know if I did more damage than I helped. So I’m sorry “Ben”. I really do hope you found the peace and happiness wherever it is you were looking for it. As I’m writing this I have yet to find it myself. But thank you for giving me those little memories of what it felt like, even if they weren’t real to you and we were young, thank you “Ben.”.

Didn’t Ask For This Pt 9 (Roommate!JK x OC)
A/N: Here we go again! Sorry for leaving you guys on the cliffhanger from the last chapter, but the wait is over!

It took me a good hour to finally get myself up out of bed. I had been listening to the noises of Jungkook and Taehyung moving around in the apartment, and I just stayed in my bed, cuddling my pillow to me. I had slept probably three hours last night, and judging from all the movement I heard outside my room, Jungkook didn’t sleep well, either.
I was dreading having to face him since I had no idea how to feel. He had done a great job at tearing my emotions to shreds, and he almost always knew what to say to make me depressed.
He wasn’t really wrong about my lack of male contact. If even Hoseok, who at least pretended to be into me, won’t give me a chance, then I’m screwed.
“Ari?” I heard Taehyung knock on the door as I slightly jumped in surprise. I had been so lost in thought that even a noise so soft made my heart race.
I didn’t answer as Taehyung slowly opened the door and peeked inside. He spotted my form laying in bed, and I probably looked so pathetic to him. He stepped into my room and closed the door behind him as I felt myself internally groan. I hated talking to people in the morning, especially if I hadn’t had time or the energy to get up and brush my teeth first.
“Hey,” Taehyung slightly smiled as he pulled something small out of his pocket. I couldn’t help but smile as I spotted a piece of gum in his hand. It wasn’t a substitution for brushing my teeth, but it’ll get me through this conversation without vomiting from my own breath’s smell.
I grabbed the gum and popped it into my mouth as Taehyung just continued smiling at me. I felt my eyebrows raise at how excited Taehyung seemed as I took a few seconds to chew the gum.
“What’s got you so excited?” I asked as Taehyung grew more and more eager. I thought he was going to launch out of his own skin.
“So Hana text me this morning,” he started with a big smile on his face, “and at first it was just a normal conversation, but it slowly morphed into her asking me on a date this afternoon!”
I felt a smile appear on my face as I started to grow excited for him. “Taehyung! I’m so happy for you!” I smiled and leaned in to give him a hug. He hugged me back for a few seconds before he pulled away and jumped back up from my bed.
I felt my excitement for him calm down as I slowly came to the realization that if Taehyung was leaving to go on a date, then Jungkook and I were going to be left at home all afternoon alone. To make matters better, I have to work a shift with him tonight alone with Yoongi.
Yoongi is going to be so lost if I come in and tell him that Jungkook and I hate each other again.
“So when are you leaving?” I tried to not sound nervous as I asked him that question. He just turned back to me with his box smile as he opened my bedroom door.
“I’m getting ready and I’m leaving as soon as I can. I want to go out and get her something small as an apology for being so indifferent to her, even when she was super friendly to me in the first place.”
“Great,” I nodded, taking a deep breath to calm myself down. It was no big deal! I could ask Yoongi or Chaeyoung if they wanted to hang out together so that I didn’t have to even look Jungkook’s way.
“Anyway, I’ll talk to you more later,” he winked as he walked out of my room, leaving my door open, “Jungkook and I are both done with the bathroom, so it’s all yours.”
I tightly nodded as I stared at my open door. I noticed that Jungkook’s door was also slightly ajar, and I could tell that he was in there by the soft music coming from the room.
I took a deep breath and started to gather some clothes up to get in the shower. I could take a long shower to try and relax me at least a little bit.
I finally finished up in the bathroom as I opened the door and felt regret started to build in my chest. I had purposefully put on some short pajama bottoms, as well as a white bra and gray tank top. I felt so petty, but I wasn’t about to change my mind.
I grabbed my phone and raised my eyebrows to see a new number had messaged me. It took me a few seconds to realize that this was probably Hoseok’s number! Did he finally text me after all this time?
Unknown Number:
Hey, is this RaeAri? This is Jung Hoseok! I tried to text you a while ago, and Taehyung helped me realize that I had put your number in wrong. Hopefully it’s correct this time!
I smiled and felt my cheeks heat up. He was actually into me enough to go through the trouble of finding my real number? I couldn’t believe it, honestly. Maybe he was just trying to be nice… Surely I wasn’t that cute to him…
I walked into the kitchen with a smile on my face as I moved to the coffee pot. It was already 9:00 and I still hadn’t had a cup of coffee in me which was not normal.
Ari:
You’ve got the right number now! It’s nice to realize that you actually intended to text me! I thought you were just too afraid to reject my face haha
I jumped when I saw Jungkook appear out of the corner of my eye, but he didn’t seem phased by me. I watched as he moved past me to get into the fridge. I almost snapped at him with some snide remark, but I talked myself out of it. That would be way too petty of me.
Hoseok:
I would never lead a girl on like that! Sorry for the scare! :(
I don’t want to sound too eager, but I’d love to go on a date with you soon. When would be a good day for you?
I didn’t fail to notice that Jungkook was growing curious when my phone started going off. I couldn’t help but smirk as I typed a reply.
Ari:
Sunday afternoon is the next opportunity I’d have for a date. Does that work for you?
Hoseok:
Sunday works for me!
I glanced behind me as I noticed Jungkook was shamelessly looking over my shoulder at my phone screen. I narrowed my eyes at him as I locked my phone and put it in the pocket of my shorts.
“You see, Jungkook,” I could hear the thick bitterness in my voice as I turned around and leaned on the counter behind me. Jungkook shamelessly looked up and down at me as I crossed my arms across my chest, “You’re supposed to take a girl out on a proper date before you try and slip into her pants.”
Jungkook didn’t say anything as I just continued to look at him with my hard expressions. I took a deep breath as just his stares made me incredibly nervous.
“I thought that I was just a playboy to you? Playboys don’t do the whole dating thing,” Jungkook finally spoke as I turned around when I heard my coffee finish up being made.
I swallowed and grabbed my coffee cup, “Maybe one reason that you’re so bitter is because you don’t seem to treat relationships seriously. You’ll mature one day when you fall in love, if you’re even capable of that.”
I walked out of the kitchen with my coffee in one hand and my phone in the other as Jungkook followed behind me. “You’re talking as if you know what it’s like to be in love and in a healthy relationship…”
I sat down on the couch as Jungkook just stood up next to me, “Last I checked, you’re not in love and never have been, and I would like for you to tell me when you get some poor boy to actually date you.”
I tried to not let him get to me as I just calmly looked down at my phone to ease my anger. I felt my nerves twist in my gut as Jungkook made it a point to sit down on the smaller couch and stare at me.
“So what happened to kicking me out?” Jungkook asked, his voice both annoyed and genuinely curious.
“Did you see how happy Taehyung was this morning?” I asked as Jungkook looked away from me, “I was not about to say anything to him to make him upset. Unlike you, I like seeing my brother smile.”
Jungkook swallowed and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees to support his torso. Neither of us said anything for several seconds, and it was in that moment that I heard my phone go off next to me.
I glanced over at it, not failing to mention Jungkook’s interest on who the message was from.
Hoseok:
Did you want to have a late lunch? I’ll let you choose where!
I smiled and thought for a couple seconds before I started typing out my reply. I felt Jungkook’s eyes study me no matter what I did, and I was getting kind of tired of it.
Ari:
I’m not picky about my food, but as long as there are sandwiches and salads on the menu, I’m game. I don’t have a specific restaurant in mind…
“Look,” Jungkook shook his head and scratched the back of it, “I understand that you’re mad at me, but please don’t kick me out. I don’t exactly have a backup place to stay.”
“I’m not…” I took a deep breath and grabbed my coffee and held it in front of my mouth. I was starting to smell Jungkook’s cologne, and my coffee was doing a good job covering it up. “I’m not that heartless. You might have stepped all over me and my feelings, but I’m not going to do the same to you.”
I stood up and grabbed my phone. I wanted to be away from him, and if I had to seclude myself into my room, I was willing to do it.
“I’m not apologizing for yesterday,” Jungkook called after me as I slowed my pace and turned around. Jungkook had stood up from the couch and walked toward the hallway. I stopped at one end as he stopped at the other, and as I looked into his eyes, I felt all my hurt emotions come back from the night before. All those feelings were still so raw, and I couldn’t look at him for too long before my heart gave in to the immense pain his gaze alone caused me.
“I didn’t expect you to,” I answered honestly and shortly as I broke our eye contact, grabbing my door and slowly closing it behind me.
That was one of the most emotionally taxing conversations I’ve had with him, and we hardly talked to one another. The air just felt so strained and awkward… before when we would bicker, sure I would get annoyed, but at least the air around me wasn’t suffocating.
I looked down at my phone before I closed my eyes and groaned. The beginning of a headache were causing a dull ache behind my eyes. If this morning was any indication of how our shift is going to go tonight, I wasn’t going to make it home without ranting Yoongi’s ear off about him, and not to mention that I’ll have at least one emotional breakdown from how tense everything feels…
I was, to put it simply, dreading my shift with every fiber of my being.
I had done a very good job at avoiding Jungkook for the afternoon, save for us glancing at each other every time we ended up in the same room for a few seconds at a time.
He hadn’t bothered to say anything to me, and I wasn’t about to say anything to him in return. I was going to be forced to talk to him at work, anyway, so I was saving all of that energy for later.
It wasn’t long before I was walking into work, and I instantly spotted Chaeyoung. She was about to go home for the day, which sucked because I haven’t really talked to her about anything that’s been going on. I wanted to catch her up on all the Jungkook drama, and simply texting it to her would take too long…
“Ari~,” She sang as she ran up to me with a big smile on her face, “Guess who’s got herself a boyfriend!”
I felt a smile appearing on my face, but my mind was filling up with nothing but jealousy. Seriously? Why is her life so… put together? Why is my life such a mess?
“No way!” I spoke with excitement, but I didn’t necessarily feel excited. I was hoping that Chaeyoung didn’t see through me, but I never get my way.
“Is something wrong?” she asked, her smile fading into concern, “You seem a lot more tense. You seem even more tense than when Jungkook’s around…”
At the mention of Jungkook, I felt my stomach drop. It was getting to the point that I felt that way every time his name left another person’s lips.
“Life has just been… rough on me since I last saw you on Tuesday.” I spoke as Chaeyoung gave me a knowing look. She suddenly started remembering everything that she witnessed as she grabbed my hand and started pulling me in the direction of one of the janitor’s closets.
“Chae, I’ve gotta clock in soon-”
“Just have Yoongi clock in for you. We’re having this conversation, and we’re having it now,” she demanded with a serious expression, “I need to know if I need to scheme something against Jungkook or not.”
I let a small smile appear on my face despite the feeling after hearing his name, “It’s gonna take a little bit to explain…”
“I don’t care,” Chaeyoung stressed as she grabbed my hands and pleaded me with her eyes, “Just tell me. I want to know everything…”
I spent a good ten minutes talking about what had happened between Jungkook and I as Chaeyoung did her best to stay quiet while I spoke. She interjected every once in a while to voice her anger toward him, but that was the extent of her interruptions.
Once I finally finished talking, I could see the disappointment on her face. She opened her mouth to say something, but it took several seconds before she actually said anything.
“I can’t believe that he would pull something so… hurtful. He was pretty rude to you, in the beginning, but I’d never imagine that he would do something like that,” she clenched her fists before looking up at me with vengeance in her eyes. “I want to punch that asshole.”
I felt my eyes slightly widen as I shook my head, “Please don’t physically assault him over this.”
“You won’t even let me slap him?” Chaeyoung frowned as I was quick to shake my head.
“He hates me enough as it is… I don’t want to add to it.”
Chaeyoung stayed silent as she just looked at me with an unreadable expression. I swallowed as she continued to stay silent. I took a deep breath and started to reach for the door, assuming that our conversation was over.
“Are you in love with him?”
I froze and turned around with a surprised look on my face, “What? What makes you think that? Of course not…”
Chaeyoung walked closer to me and I felt my nerves increase as her gaze intensified.
“Ari,” she swallowed and grabbed my hands with her cold ones, “I don’t want you to continue to be hurt by him like you already have been… You’re so much better off pursuing a relationship with that Hoseok guy.”
I swallowed and looked down to try to hide from her gaze, “I’m not in love with him, Chaeyoung. Just because I don’t want you to punch him doesn’t mean I love him.”
“But it’s the combination of everything,” Chaeyoung sighed and squeezed my hands, “you wanted to be in a relationship that was actually going somewhere, you enjoyed kissing him enough to make out with him, and you don’t even have enough vengeance in you to ask me to punch him. What he did was so incredibly scummy, and only love would justify why you don’t want me chewing that guy out.”
“Chae,” I tried to smile, but it was weak. I’m not in love with Jungkook, I was in love with the idea of having a boyfriend… He just happened to be around all the time, and it was just convenience… “It’s not…”
I didn’t even finish my sentence when the door to the janitor’s closet was flung open. I let go of Chaeyoung’s hands as I spun around, the two of us jumping at the sudden action.
My eyes met the dark brown eyes that belonged to the man in question. His gaze was confused and quite angry, but I felt my heart jumping at the gaze. It was just the fact that we’d been talking about love… I didn’t actually love this man.
“Okay, what the hell?” Jungkook didn’t sound mad surprisingly enough. His voice was more confused and, dare I say, shaky. I took a deep breath as his eyes didn’t leave mine for a second, “Why are you two just hanging out in here?”
“We were having girl talk until you rudely interrupted,” Chaeyoung snapped at him which was normally my thing, but I was too distracted with my thoughts. I was feeling slightly confused looking at Jungkook in front of me.
Yoongi had told me that I was too far gone when it came to falling for Jungkook, and at the time, I believed him. After we had the fight last night, I had convinced myself that I was just so eager for a boyfriend that I would kiss anyone that showed any interest in me…
But as my confused and sad eyes met Jungkook’s, I couldn’t lie to myself anymore. There was only one explanation for the way my heart jumped, only for it’s pace to quicken afterward. His slightly concerned look gave me chills as I rubbed my left arm with my right hand.
“Well someone,” Jungkook’s gaze didn’t leave mine, but his eyes did slightly narrow, “Is supposed to be working right now, so if you’ll excuse me…”
Jungkook reached out and grabbed my hand to pull me out of the closet. I looked down at our hands as my eyes slightly widened at how... different the contact used to feel. It was as if I had just opened a whole door of new emotions that I was becoming hyper aware of.
I couldn’t figure out whether to feel worried or happy over the discovery. It was certainly scary since this was Jungkook we were talking about, but part of me couldn’t help but feel almost… excited. I finally know what it’s like to be in love…
Jungkook glanced back at me several different times as he pulled me in the direction of the back room, and I didn’t fail to notice each and every turn of his head. I couldn’t get enough of him and his little mannerisms, and I couldn’t help but feel saddened at the realization that this ignorant bliss wasn’t going to last much longer.
“Seriously,” Jungkook mumbled under his breath, “Are you trying to get out of your shift? Do you really hate me that much right now?”
I internally laughed at his words before I opened my mouth, my words contradicting what I was feeling. Sure, I’d admitted my feelings to myself, but I was never going to admit them to Jungkook. He’d just use that as bait to get me to sleep with him.
“I’d do anything to get away from you.”
Jungkook seemed to smirk at those words before his hand squeezed mine slightly, “That statement means nothing when your hand is holding mine as tightly as it is.”
I felt my face heat up at his words before I tried to pull my hand away. I noticed the slight smirk that appeared on Jungkook’s face. I wanted to be angry at him for his annoying and cocky smirk, but my heart had to admit that the expression wasn’t all that bad.
“Don’t get a big head about it. I’m just tense, worried that you might cause me to trip and fall on my face,” I snapped back as Jungkook’s smirk slightly grew. We finally got to our destination as his hand slowly and almost reluctantly let go of mine.
I spotted Yoongi standing near the sink, and he immediately looked our way when we stepped into the back. I swallowed as I saw his eyebrow raise while looking back and forth between the two of us.
“You went looking for her?” Yoongi slightly smiled as Jungkook seemed to stiffen at Yoongi’s words.
“I wasn’t about to let her skip out on doing her job. If she gets paid for chit chat, why not the rest of us?” he tried to justify, but I rolled my eyes. I stepped in front of him and looked around the back room for a second before I dared to speak my next words.
...I was starting to like how I felt in my skin after admitting the obvious. It felt so much better than it did when I was repressing these feelings…
“It’s quiet hypocritical of you to say that, Jungkook,” I tilted my head to the side before I let a smirk rest on my face, “You wasted both my time and yours yesterday when you decided to make out with me.”
Yoongi turned around and was out of the back room faster than Jungkook and I rushed into it. I didn’t even have time to laugh over his eagerness to get away as Jungkook sighed and rolled his eyes.
“That’s different,” Jungkook shook his head as I raised an eyebrow.
“How so? Yesterday, you were making out with me for your own personal gain, and today, I was ranting to Chaeyoung about you using me for your own pleasure. Seems awfully similar.” I was feeling so incredibly confident and cocky as Jungkook seemed surprised by my attitude shift.
I was sick of being such a crybaby. This whole being honest to myself thing wasn’t that bad at all. It made me want to run home and spill everything to Taehyung from start to finish. After all, he’s the person I’ve been the least honest with recently.
Jungkook didn’t have anything to say to my point as I just took his silence as a victory. I winked his way as his eyebrows raised in confusion and surprise. My attitude shift didn’t go unnoticed by him after that.
“I’m going to fetch Yoongi. We’re probably behind schedule,” I spoke as Jungkook just silently watched me. I poked my head into the concessions area as quickly spotted Yoongi as he just nodded my way and began walking toward us.
“Alright!” I clapped my hands and walked over to our stache of brooms and dustpans, “Back to work!”
The night had been running fairly smoothly for the most part, but that was mainly because Jungkook had been suspiciously silent almost all shift. Yoongi and I were the only ones talking, and the only times Jungkook spoke was when he was spoken to.
“Okay, what the hell?” Yoongi asked me when Jungkook had run off to clean a smaller theater by himself, “So you two were all embarrassed and shy looking at each other yesterday, and now you’re the one making him embarrassed?”
“I know,” I smiled and slightly laughed, “It’s weird, but God I feel great.”
Yoongi raised an eyebrow as slight smile appeared on his face, “What did you do to him, exactly?”
“Nothing,” I shook my head as I swept up a huge popcorn spill in one of the rows, “I have admitted to myself that I’m in love with Jungkook. Instead of sulking over it, I feel great about admitting it.”
Yoongi continued to smile as he stood still in the row he had been cleaning, “So you’re not scared over falling in love with such a jerk?”
I shook my head and shrugged, “It makes me feel like I’m powerful over him for some reason. Plus, being in a good mood when around him means we’ll yell less and have more banter back and forth. He’s only here for the summer, so I’m taking this experience in as practice for when I find the right guy.”
Yoongi swallowed as his smile slightly faded to a worried glance. His worried look didn’t bother me too much as I continued cleaning.
“Ari,” he spoke to try and get my attention, “Do you realize that when he leaves, you’re not going to just fall out of love. You’re going to miss him like crazy.”
“I’ll get over him,” I shrugged, but Yoongi wasn’t letting up. He seemed seriously worried, but I wasn’t going to let him darken my mood. I wasn’t going to let anyone ruin this mood. “He’s just a guy. Who knows, maybe I’ll fall for Hoseok?”
“Hoseok also goes back to college after the summer,” Yoongi spoke as I waved him off.
“I’ll be okay. Do you not see how flustered I have Jungkook? It’s so cute…”
Yoongi didn’t justify me with a response as I felt the air grow thick. I tried to ignore how tense he was making the air feel, but it was starting to really weigh down on me.
“Ari,” he swallowed and looked up at me as I started walking down the stairs to the theater, “I don’t want him to ruin you.”
I took a deep breath, ignoring how worried Yoongi made me with his statement, “I’ll be fine. I’ve never felt better.”
We had cleaned three theaters, and Jungkook still hadn’t come back from cleaning his one theater. I started feeling dread in the back of my mind at how long it was taking him to clean. What if he tripped and fell and hurt himself? I kept trying to tell myself that he’s a grown man and can take care of himself, but I was getting sick with worry just thinking about him.
“I’ll be back,” I told Yoongi as we were walking toward the back room, “I’ve got to run to the bathroom.”
Yoongi just nodded me off as I turned around and tried my best to not rush off in a full sprint. There is no reason that he should be over there still.
I finally spotted the door to the theater that he was supposed to be in as I slowed my pace. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I slowly began pushing the door open.
“I don’t understand…”
I froze at the sound of a voice that sounded painfully familiar. I honestly thought that I was never going to have to hear her voice again. I can’t believe that she and Jungkook are talking… alone...
My heart ached in my chest as I felt my hands shaking against the door. I didn’t dare push the door open any further because I didn’t want them to know I was listening.
“I’ve told you this five times already,” Jungkook spoke as I tried my best to poke my head discreetly into the hallway to see what was going on.
My breath hitched in my throat as I saw Jennie take a step closer to Jungkook, her eyes practically begging him to rip her clothes off.
“You just don’t remember how… good we were,” She grabbed his arm as I glared at the contact. I felt myself internally cheer as he grabbed her hands and pried them off of him.
“I’m just not feeling us anymore,” Jungkook shook his head as Jennie’s begging eyes became narrowed.
“Does this have anything to do with that girl? Taehyung’s little sister?” she stepped closer to him and he grabbed her arms and pushed her away from him a comfortable distance. I couldn’t help but smile at the action, eager to hear what he says next. It wasn’t like I was expecting anything good to come out of his mouth, though...
“No,” he shook his head. I swallowed and tried to take a deep breath at his words. I wasn’t expecting any other words... We’ve made our feelings very clear to each other. “There’s nothing between the two of us.”
“Bull shit,” Jennie shook her head and raised her voice, “You were more than ready to fuck me before she got up to talk you out of it. You can’t tell me that she has nothing to do with this.”
Jungkook stayed quiet before he looked away from her, eyes trailing around the small space. My eyes widened as his eyes moved in the direction of the exit, but he made no reaction if he saw me. I silently cursed as I backed away from the door and swallowed nervously. There’s no way that he didn’t see me!
“She has nothing to do with this,” Jungkook repeated as I heard his footsteps in the direction of the exit. I felt panic rise in me as I tried to look for an escape route so that I didn’t have to face the situation, but I didn’t have any time before the door was opened and Jungkook’s eyes were locked onto mine.
My face was completely red and embarrassed as he looked at me with an uncharacteristically soft expression. He walked in my direction as Jennie followed Jungkook out of the theater and quickly caught sight of me.
“Jungkook!” She cried out desperately, but when Jungkook grabbed hold of my hand and laced his fingers between mine, she quieted down. She didn’t run after us as Jungkook pulled me off in the direction of the back room.
I couldn’t be more hyper aware of the contact as I stared at our interlocked hands. I’d never held hands with anyone like this before, and I was growing addicted to the feeling. It wasn’t anything like the loose hand holding that I would do with Taehyung when pulling him somewhere or to just show him affection when he was down. It was nothing like the contact of a handshake, sometimes firm and sometimes pitiful, and even sometimes an incredibly awkward contact.
His hand in mine felt so… sure. Interlocking fingers made it harder to let go, and most definitely made me never want to let go. I looked up at the back of Jungkook’s head as I didn’t fail to notice him turn his head and glance my way out of the corner of his eye. It only lasted for a couple seconds before his eyes moved back to the trail before him.
We finally got to the door to the back room as Jungkook looked back at me. His hand let go of mine almost as quickly as it grabbed on, and his eyes shamelessly looked into mine for several seconds.
“What’s got you looking so whipped?” I felt my mouth moving, my voice softer than I expected. Jungkook’s expression hardly changed as he let a small smirk appear on his face.
“Your overactive imagination must be giving you hallucinations,” Jungkook quipped back before grabbing the handle to the door and effectively ending the conversation as we spotted Yoongi eyeing us.
“Well,” Yoongi eyed me curiously at that fact that Jungkook and I had walked in together, “It’s time for our dinner break. Hurry up and clock out.”
::
The day was finally coming to a close as the three of us made our way to the computer to clock out and go home. I felt exhaustion gripping at me after having cleaned the last few theaters. For one reason or another, they were all littered with spilled drinks and broken pieces of stepped on popcorn. I’d never seen so many stupid napkins shoved into the cupholders to be forgotten. Having to go through the rows looking for those napkins was one of the most annoying parts of cleaning the theaters to me.
I even made it a point to complain, counting each and every napkin that I found. Some people just want the world to burn… (I’m sorry, that rant was totally not coming from me and my frustrations xD)
“Just get over the napkins already,” Jungkook laughed as I gave him a tired, half-baked glare.
“You’re only able to say that because you didn’t have to look for them. You got the easy part.” I snapped, leaning over to type in my information to clock out.
“I hate stray napkins, too, but this is a bit ridiculous,” Yoongi commented as I huffed and pulled my hair out of the lazy ponytail I had put up in my room this afternoon. I ruffled my hair and ran my fingers through it to try and tame it.
“I disagree,” I turned away as I yawned and shook my head. The two guys just watched me as I leaned against the wall and took a deep breath.
“Are you okay?” Yoongi asked as his eyes studied me. I felt my cheeks heat up as my mind trailed to the reason on why I was so tired. The exhaustion was hitting me like a bus, and my heart twisted thinking back to all the tears I cried.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked, making an effort to not look Jungkook’s way. “We should head on out. I’m ready to crash.”
Yoongi silently nodded as I kept my eyes on him. I was making it an effort to not look Jungkook’s way, but it was becoming increasingly hard when I realized that Jungkook was studying me shamelessly.
“C’mon,” I grabbed Yoongi’s arm and pulled him in the direction of the exit, “I don’t want to walk alone.”
The three of us walked out to our cars as I leaned against Yoongi’s shoulder, my eyes starting to droop every few seconds. He looked down at me and sighed, wrapping his arm around me and holding me closer to him. I smiled at the warmth, but it didn’t last very long before I felt a very familiar hand grab mine.
“You’re riding home with me,” Jungkook spoke as I felt his hand pull me out of Yoongi’s arms. Both Yoongi and I simultaneously looked his way with mirrored confusion, but Jungkook looked serious. I wasn’t used to seeing such serious looks on his face all the time…
“I have my own car,” I spoke, but I wasn’t about to pull my hand from Jungkook’s, “If you drive me, my car will be left here.”
“We work the same shift tomorrow, too. You can drive it home tomorrow night. You need some proper sleep tonight.” he was glaring my way as I turned to stand in front of him.
“What, do you feel guilty?” I asked with a slightly venomous tone. I raised my eyebrows at him as his eyes narrowed my way ever so slightly. If I hadn’t been looking into his deep brown eyes, I wouldn’t have even noticed.
“Why would I feel guilty?” Jungkook’s voice wasn’t as harsh as it normally was, and I didn’t fail to notice it. I pulled my hand from his to cross my arms across my chest. I leaned slightly closer to him and shamelessly took in the scent of his heavenly cologne.
“Because you know very well that you’re the reason I got no rest last night,” I spoke with more honestly than I thought I’d be comfortable with. I had just revealed, or more of confirmed, that Jungkook’s charade had rendered me restless last night. It was no secret, but it was slightly strange that I actually admitted it, not just out loud, but to the man who caused it all in the first place.
Jungkook swallowed as his eyes never left mine. I took a deep breath to get a whiff of his scent again before moving away from him.
“I’m going to drive myself,” I spoke as Jungkook remained unmoving. I tried to suppress the smirk that was trying to appear, but once I spun around to head to my car, I couldn’t hold it back anymore.
Yoongi looked at me with a dumbfounded expression as I just glanced his way and smiled. I’ll have to explain everything to him later.
