Alright, so I just read through that language barriers post of yours and had a Blast Tm, BUT! Now I have several thoughts that need to be spoken. Firstly, what with english being this really ancient language now, yn‘s basically got a free phd in hyrule, don‘t they?? Predestined for exploration because of their „excellent skills with the language used in the ruins and temples of old, as well as their familiarity with the mechanisms“ or something. The ruin researchers probably beg to have them in their team.

Secondly, apparently accents are really appealing to some people? The chain already finds yn‘s morning voice really hot, but how would they even react to the way they sort of mispronounce the words? Idk too much about how japanese sounds, but maybe they emphasize the consonants too much which makes them sound harsh all the time, or the opposite, too much emphasis on vowels and sounding very soft. Just… brainrot about rambling and not trying too hard to speak perfectly accurately being all it takes to have the boys smitten and kicking their feet.

Thirdly!! What about a yn that knows multiple languages? The chain tries their best to learn english, and then yn comes around the corner like SIKE. THAT‘S NOT ALL OF THEM. YOU WILL NEVER COMPREHEND IT ALL. (That‘s what I‘d do at least.)

each Link pair accidentally starts following a man's voice echoing in the dungeon until they all accidentally converge in a main room and the Link equivalent of the point spiderman meme happens with you in the center with Time, who had been your dungeon buddy (he's laughing at them as every Link goes a little red after realizing they just followed you unconciously)

ur favorite thing to do is leaning down to whisper in each of the pointed hylian ears randomly, just talking about mundane or random things and watching it twitch, some trying to stay still like Time/Twi/Wars/Wild, while others leap away like u burned them lmao Legend/Hyrule/Four, and Sky managing to do both, trying to maintain composure before he inevitably breaks out all red and hides in his hands lmao

Hey bud! If you had to give your favorite voice a favorite movie, what would it be? And would their matching vessel like or dislike it?

I know this wasn’t the assigned task, but I couldn’t resist–

Here’s me headcanoing a fave film for every single voice and their respective princess’ opnion on it–

Hero: Shrek 2. No it is NOT just because of the Holding Out For a Hero scene, tho that is a very nice scene that always makes him start bouncing on his seat the moment it starts playing. It isn’t Default Princess’ favorite (she prefers Shrek 1), but she still appreciates the satire and subversion of common fairy tale tropes and the exploration of Shrek’s character here.

Contrarian: The Emperor’s New Groove. It’s memeable, it’s funny, it has such iconic characters, what else could he ask for? Stranger likes what they saw of it well enough, but they can’t really bring themselves to focus on a movie for the entirety of it. Would rather be doing something that requires them to be proactive.

Cheated: Fight Club. I haven’t watched Fight Club myself, but from what I hear from it, sounds like something Cheated might enjoy. Razor isn’t allowed anywhere near a TV.

Cold: Inside Out. Am I projecting? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. She watches Inside Out over and over again, imagining those little emotion guys as some of its friend, and getting a weird tight feeling in its chest when the control panel starts going gray because of Riley’s increasingly depressive state. Spectre likes the movie :)

Paranoid: Paranorman (I didn’t realize how similar those names are, but holy shit that’s funny), she finds Norman’s struggles to fit in and being seen as a ‘weirdo’ relatable and finds the way he’s fascinated with horror weirdly compelling. Both the fact it’s a stop-motion movie, and that it’s ‘children’s horror’ helps Paranoid feel safe watching it, and she doesn’t even jerks her arms once! Nightmare finds the zombies funny and gets… weirdly emotional during reveal at the end.

Hunted: The Lion King. It’s pretty, it’s colorful, the scenery and characters makes it feel at home, and it’s really compelled by the lion hamlet storyline. Beast tries to paw at every animal on screen and starts howling sadly when Mufasa dies.

Opportunist: Says it’s The Devil Wears Prada, but actually, it’s Legally Blond. The musical, specifically. Constantly has ‘Gay or European?’ playing in his head. Witch also loves The Legally Blond musical and is constantly grumpy that it’s also Oppy’s favorite.

Stubborn: Kung Fu Panda. It has FIGHTS, it has a panda struggle to become stronger, it has a compelling emotional core, he loves that shit! Adversary prefers John Wick, personally, but she’s also cheering for that white leopard guy every time he’s on screen (yeah, she knows he’s the villain, so what?).

Broken: Winnie the Pooh. It’s comforting and so nice to watch! It always makes them feel better. Tower doesn’t concern herself with this kind of leisure.

Smitten: The Princess Bride. Do I need to explain this one? Damsel also likes it, though she prefers Enchanted; especially the animated bits, she finds animation much more compelling than live action. :D

Skeptic: Knives Out. The mystery is compelling, the characters are engaging, and the set design! Skeptic could spend hours dissecting every frame of this movie and he did. Prisoner thought the culprit was too easy to figure out.

Long Quiet is very fond of the Rio movie, while Shifty really likes Everything, Everywhere, All at Once (she’s also fond of The Lego Movie :))

You know, you have a point bout Scout being the easiest merc to talk about. LIKE I JUST TEND TO GRAVITATE TOWARDS HIM TOO WHEN TALKING BOUT TF2 WITH MY FRIENDS!! Ooohohohhh my god. Oh my god. You GET IT. There is some sort of crack in this dude that causes me to think about him 24/7 even tho he is STILL not my favorite character. Like how do u do that. I want to make a character like that......

A lot of the Philip hate tends to be filtered through having to sit through his boss fight, and the pacing and general fluff in canto 4 did not help many people (including myself, honest) fully understand Dongrang's character, and given as him being generally evil is the most memorable and memeable part about him, its a lot of the conversation about him. About Kromer and Alphonso tho - evil characters are just fun. The City is a horrible place full of horrible people and seeing those people thriving in their atrocities is genuinely one of the settings most enjoyable parts

I get that evil can be fun, my main annoyance (which directs HARD to the two of them because of this) is the fact the kind characters have a Much Worse reputation

As for the Philip boss fight, it honestly never occurred to me, since by that point, I'd already beaten all of Lobotomy Corp, was halfway through Runia, and had just fully accepted to myself that bosses being ABSURDLY hard was just part of the experience-

Plus, I've always been more of a "Story > Gameplay" kinda person when it comes to how I feel about characters, so the thought of "This boss fight is annoying, so I hate this character" never connected to me, especially in a franchise as brutally hard as this-

As for Dongrang- I think part of me was initially biased because he was genuinely pleasant at the start, but it was the flashback sequence that REALLY solidified my opinion into what it is now- the mix of not condoning what happened, but also coming to terms and sympathizing with the fact of "Damn. this could have been a good guy, if it weren't for The Horrors™"

And for the final part, I respect the opinion, but I do not agree with it in the way I interact with this franchise.

I think the MOST enjoyable part is seeing what COULD have been- There are the atrocities, yes, but SO MANY of the protag groups try to find their homes with the family they've found, and all want to try to learn to be nice to each other DISPITE the horrors-

If anything, I think the sheer amount of atrocities makes the little glimmers of occasional kindness shine just that much more-

At least for me, if the games were just packed to the brim with mainly evil people doing evil things for the sake of being evil, it wouldn't be fun. not at all. I certainly wouldn't have played all 3 games if the only appeal was "evil characters are fun ehe"

Not that I'm condoning how any particular person decides to enjoy their time in the franchise, its just the double standard of "A kind character can do one horrific act and be scorned forever, but we'll love this evil character forever regardless of what they do"

I don't personally love the hypocrisy in it-

Yea, evil characters are fun sometimes, but I like the evil characters WHEN they make the kind ones shine more in comparison-

Magical girl Idia au:

This au is crack, mostly since Idia is just hit with all the tropes of your usual magical girl story. His only motivation is born from the fact that the main antagonist(which is literally named 'evil overlord') cursed ortho to be a smol pocket kitty. The plot armour is so ridiculous and obvious that Idia himself goes to LENGTHS to just get rid of it(spoiler: he fails). Add to it the fact that NRC collectively thinks a pretty girl in a sparkly skirt and high heels saves them, cue Idia just trying his darn best to survive this school year.

Surveillance duty(horror au):

This one was in the drafts for SOOO much... like I didn't know if I should make just 1 oneshot or a full lil series... but the premise is that Riddle, a teacher at a high-school, offers to vouce one night of camera duty for the guard. From there a series of shenanigans and actual horrors make Riddle to realize that there is more to the school than the eye lets on. Also that the elderich monster is kinda hot

Ps: my fave part is the unholy abomination of energy drinks and coffee Riddle brews. Yes, this is the au that started that bandwagon

Addams Deuce au:

As the title says... Deuce's an Addams, which in twst actually has them be vampires. :v It's mostly a rom-com type of crack, Deuce trying to adapt to nrc and also nrc trying to adapt to Deuce. Doesn't help that he has a venomous snake as a pet.

Matt Hatter au:

I also like this one :v. Basically, the grandfather on the father's side of the zibvolt family leaves as inheritance a cinema. Sevek discovers the truth about the movies the zibvolt family once made along with the parallel world they created. So Sebek has to embark on an adventure to restore and maintain peace in the movie world, while also attending his guard and student duties.

Monster high au:

You had to expect it from me. This one, surprisingly, has a pretty interesting plot, following a timeline made out of the mh movies, starting with Why do ghouls fall in love, ending with an eah movie: way to wonderland.(It's my way of making parallels). You have everything in there! From ghosts and a shy boogieman, to forest monsters and Demons who accidentally blow up things. Most of them actually have pretty angsty stoties, so it's not all that happy. :v

Wild magic au:

In which wild magic is like in s7 of winx. The source of that dark magic is guarded by the nrc Dormheads and some students. Rsa is a school for fairies, which tries to defeat the 'misterious wild magic mages'. The teachers at nrc, nor the Rsa or anyone else knows that some of the nrc students actually got wild magic and they would rather keep it like that. They are petty, they don't like to share :v

Shazam! Au

In which poor, sweet, innocent Ortho is thunderstruck with God powers and now has to juggle school life and 'superhero' life all while he and Idia try to fit in with their new adoptive family. Ace clearly hypes him up, Sebek's the voice of ration and the rest? Well the rest shouldn't really know for now. Apparently since the supposed to be mentor dipped, the heir of Hades's powers, which so happens to be idia, is now tutoring Ortho.

Over the garden wall au(another horror au):

In which Idia and ortho venture into the forest, but only ortho gets out. Being cursed to take place of a monster that ruled that place, idia lurks through there and tries to control his new powers and not led madness consume him. Also he has some fear-hate relationship with butterflies :v.
