Sprigg does not consider themselves a nerd, despite fitting under literally everything that makes one a nerd. They were also probably bullied in high school. Poor nerd intellectual being.

Toorie is not only the tallest in her friend group, but also the second-strongest. She can carry Mondo over her shoulder like a fucking potato sack.

Mondo is… actually fairly strong for Mammott standards. They’re able to lift things like couches and all of his laundry, but he isn’t really that strong compared to their sister.

Mauna is not only fluent in translating cryptic Monster World messages, but can speak many Human World languages as well! That means she doesn’t fall for any “keys cow in Tagalog” jokes. (I won’t fall for those either.)

Flitz is terrible at keeping secrets. Expect that to play a part in whenever Mondo and Toorie become a thing.

Jeeo has been mistaken for a Jeeode multiple times in the past. You can’t blame his parents for naming him “Awdajeeo,” which is supposed to sound like the musical term “adagio.”

Sprigg, as I’ve probably said a few posts ago, is aroace. They DO secretly read romance novels when nobody else is around, though. honestly same, I brainrot over ships and make shit up about them while being an aroace myself-

Toorie is not only bi, but also trans! Her friends and family have been very supportive of it ever since she came out.

Mondo is also bi and trans! Many of his friends don’t really know that, though, because he Became Boy before they met Toorie and Sprigg.

Mauna is a lesbian, as evident by her relationship with Moperetta! Everyone she knows is super supportive of this.

Jeeo isn’t scared of any bug or arachnid; he sees all of them as friends! He’d get fatally stung by a fucking scorpion and go “ah, friends have their arguments!” and then heal in like 5 seconds. He’s literally Scaratar and Loodvigg’s son, of course he’s slightly overpowered.

Sprigg is a MASTER roaster, actually. If there’s a Monster that they aren’t really fond of… well, fuck. Prepare to get microwaved for about 6,000,000,000 minutes, if that’s even possible-

Mondo can snowboard very well! He’s also decent at skateboarding, but doesn’t get to do it much since Cold Island’s paths are slippery and someone could get hurt while skateboarding on one.

Mauna and Toorie are the only ones who know how—and are allowed to—to cook. Sprigg would spend too long measuring all the ingredients, Mondo is banned from the kitchen, Flitz is terrified of the stove, and Jeeo would probably poison some of the ingredients by accident.

Interaction notes, because Astra seems really overpowered without clarification:

Pelipper mail, its variations, and magic anons can be avoided if I don’t want to deal with it. IC, Astra knows protect and she will use it if her danger sense directs her.

To avoid her being overpowered, Astra’s danger sense is extremely fallible. She can fairly easily sense something immediately dangerous to her, but not what it is, which is why protect is her immediate reaction. Danger towards others is harder, and she needs to concentrate to tell who is the target. The gods and their chosens or hosts are hidden from her, along with magic anons, though their effects are not. For example, if Rayquaza tried to hit her with dragon ascent, she’d get hit, but if Rayquaza picked up a boulder and dropped it on her head, she’d sense the boulder. Her need for focus with danger towards others is a catch-all way for her to have not seen something coming. She can also be overwhelmed by her danger sense if too many people will be affected by the same thing (this is why she left hoenn).

Most importantly, this blog follows shinxverse rules (with permission). The two most important things from that are that A) the gods are uncommonly active in their regions and B) accidental hybridization via rituals/god powers is a thing that just happens sometimes. If still confused, she basically came from ORAS Hoenn but if the legendaries and mythicals were both active and unpredictable.

Now, lore notes:

Astra’s hybridization comes from her parents accidentally wishing on a jirachi while struggling with infertility, and jirachi made her wrong. There is no angst here, the hybridization itself is hard on her but its circumstances if discovered are no-stakes. Her parents are also good people, their relationship with her tops out at drama-stakes.

Astra has no link to jirachi, though this can change with blog interactions. Thus far jirachi made her, stuck her in fortree, and forgot about her.

Astra and her family worship jirachi, which led to the accidental wish. Their religion is highly spiritual and frowns upon proselytization.

Astra is wildly autistic because of the absol stuff. Humans can’t naturally deal with the extra absol senses, so she got autism, and her words come out easier in pokespeech.

OKAY here we go. I call myself borderline aroace. Growing up I had mild crushes on boys. Very mild. Then I hit my teenage years and around 16-17 fell in love with a female (at that point) Rp partner I met online. I still remember looking up if us having sex was legal. For several years I was with them and they came to my place every summer. (I had the open minded parrents)

We had sex. I felt nothing but apparently got every wet. We kissed and I felt next to nothing... But I LOVED TEHM

Then one time I realized we would not work out in the long run. SO I broke up with them and broke both our hearts (Later I learned that he realized he was trans. a few years later)

So I spent several years thinking I was lesbian. Then I fell in love with a male character in a video game. I remember telling my mom and her going "Well if it worked for Captain Janeway in the holodeck I guess this works." At that point I also found out the term demisexual and Identified with it. That was my state a few years then my mental health crisis hit in 2016 then my other health crisises.

Eventually I came to Identify as Aroace and entered my severe rp Years. (I was unable to write due to brainfog from health conditions but like hell was I giving up stories) I fell for a few people None worked out. I never confessed to anyone if we talked OOC enough for me to think I had feelings. I had learned long distance did not work. One turned out to be abusive. That did a wringer on me. No real realationships happened. But I discovered I was kinda kinky about a few things though RP!

Around this time (7 years) I decided I would just identify as CONFUSING. I had some realizations that VERY OCASIONALY I would feel romantic atraction for rp partners as I got to know them OOC (Happened with like 2 over those years) or enjoy sexual RP. Like most of the time the character would have sex if my RP pertner wanted it and I would just pull up a video on the side and be a bit bored. BUT EVERY ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE I would enjoy writing it. THEN I finally settled on Borderline Aroace. Now I focus more on writing then RP. But EVERY once in a great while I actually enjoy writing a sex scene. MY gender is complicated I go by she/her but it doesnt always give me a good feeling. But its not a ENORMUSLY bad feeling either. Apparently I tried they/them during one point then asked people to stop. (happened at a point I don't remember)

I finally found the term AGENDER and was like OK I AM SOMEHOW THAT AND KINDA FEMALE at the same time. I'm leaning more toword agender and female presenting though! Mostly I just go by she/her.

@pokemon-completionist: Yes, that was me. Fran's main account was deleted because I only had cool things for the future and no ways to get there. Gimmick blog that reblogs posts counting the number of pokemon in several categories, percentage of all of those and if it's a new record for the blog. He/it.

@freeing-the-souls: Marta! She's great! She's an oc from something I'll write some day (after I write the thing that goes before that, that also goes after another story. She technically appears in the second one but that's teenage Marta who's learning to control her powers). There is an explanation on her pinned that's way too long, but basically she's a grim reaper mixed with that scp that offers you to smoke if you die alone. She can summon a scythe (she could have chosen anything, but scythes are cool) and temporarily take someone's soul out of their body (unless the person is dying, then it doesn't go back). She can sense if someone is close to their death and is trying to go back to her world (she's a faller. She can go back temporarily with her powers but once she's helped the souls she's teleported back to her previous location) and misses her girlfriend. She/her.

@hammeragainstbirds: Some guy slowly transforming into a tinkaton, almost finished. I swear one day I'll draw the final version of her hammer and finish the transformation. It's been too long so I'll just say it, the tinkaton that hit him isn't a tinkaton, it's a trickster god that exists outside of the boundaries of pokemon and likes to cause chaos, will probably be relevant at some point. Any pronouns.

@wins-for-everyone: A cursed chosen, for now. I want to reboot it without some elements of the story (those familiar with the type of blog probably know what I mean) because I like the kid and don't want the idea to die. Hopefully this will also bring back their emotions because they disappeared after the event and I don't know why. They/them (hasn't figured it out yet, so he/him for now).

@why-did-i-fall: Self insert faller, so just me from the real world and with my real world knowledge about rotomblr (won't talk about that often, rarely actually). Currently a ditto hybrid trying to figure out how to ditto. Any pronouns.

@kanto-safari-zone-official: A normal guy working at the safari zone makes the closest thing to an official blog for it there is. New blog so there isn't a lot going on, mostly for me to talk about headcanons. Partially inspired by two youtube videos about pokemon ecology(they're linked in the account's pinned, and also 4 hours long each). He/they.

One of the things i really like about trigun/trigun fanon is how all the adaptations of the characters have very distinct interpretations of them and have their own flare. (I just think it’s neat) And for that reason, I am taking advantage of the ability to make my OC as ooc as I want thinking about the different iterations of Fen throughout the different series.

Original/Trimax!Fen: This Fen is the more serious one out of the bunch. She’s definitely a bit more mature (which is ironic cause she's also the youngest of all the iterations) and gives off a more confident vibe. She’s still quiet, but she’s more reserved than reticent in this adaptation. A bit calmer and more self assured. She’s also not really around all that much she’s really more of a one off character. I also like how out of all the trigun iterations the trimax versions are depicted as absolute giants. Trimax!Fen is only slightly taller than her other iterations tho.

98/BLR!Fen: This Fen I’d say is a bit more cheeky, she’s got a bit more bite and spunk to her than the other iterations (to better ward off against 98/BLR Vash’s antics). She’s more outspoken, confident, and independent, but still not the most outgoing individual. She’s definitely the most expressive out of all the iterations, and a bit more energetic.

Stampede!Fen: This iteration of Fen definitely grows the most, she has a much more dynamic character arc (especially since tristamp is supposed to be an origin story so more to work with more to develop ✨) and therefore she starts out as the most naive and timid of the bunch. She’s an incredibly quiet and nervous little thing, but as she warms up to the rest of the gang she starts to become a little more lively. She’s definitely got a bit more of an air of innocence around her, especially compared to her 98 iteration. But as time goes on and she becomes more sure of herself some of that feistiness from her 98 iteration starts to break through, though just a little. She's definitely the sweetest and most patient (to the point of being a complete pushover) of the bunch.

And then in regards to my other OC, Em: her iterations are pretty much the same across adaptations. Very little, if anything at all, actually changes. The only differences for her I’d say are her relationship dynamics (in TriStamp she interacts more with Wolfwood and in 98 she interacts more with Vash. Maybe she and Fen are off being gal pals in TriMax idk, haven't really figured out how she fits into that story)

As for Fen's relationships, her dynamics are split fairly evenly between Vash and Wolfwood. (Vash has a very marginal edge, but only cause he's yknow... around a bit longer). The 98 dynamic is purely platonic (there's some level of flirting/chemistry but nothing ever actually comes of it), and so is TriMax for the most part (nothing official, but Fen does care very deeply about the two of them. But it's not necessarily romantic or acted on.) Tristamp is tbd, it's definitely a bit more romantically inclined than the other two but as for "official" relationships, that's undecided. Fen is aroace and she cares about the people around her very deeply and unconditionally, but don't ask her about romantic love cause her brain will actually stall out in confusion.

Side note: since Fen is a photographer for Bernardelli (communications to insurance for tristamp altho tbd depending on how S2 goes), the ongoing gag for ‘98 and trimax is that she gets sent to the towns that Vash passes through and is the one to document the damages. And for the longest time she’s just always a few steps behind meeting Vash, but is keenly aware of his existence. Until one day they meet by chance and then end up going the same way together for a spell. And so the joke changes from “always one step behind” to “saving herself the trouble of figuring out where the next calamity will hit”

Every time I come across one of those posts or fics about how Andrew should feel bad about choking Kevin/how it was bad writing for Nora to have Andrew do it, it always seems to be Kevin superfans who are upset that Kandreil didn’t make it into the final draft. And every time I’m just baffled. How can people possibly feel so slighted by the exclusion of a pairing that Nora has said wouldn’t have made sense or been healthy in the final story anyway? The entitlement is just ridiculous

i have a lot to say so buckle up. it’s gonna be one of those rants.

i have answered an ask about choking already. to sum it up: is choking kevin an acceptable mature way to express frustration at your bf being kidnapped by the mafia? no. is it in character for andrew? yes. will andrew apologize for it? no. will he and kevin still be friends? yes. 

first of all, i personally don’t see why kandreil would be unhealthy. i haven’t read nora’s statement about it but she didn’t elaborate, did she? it would be interesting to know why she thinks so but that’s unlikely to happen seeing as every word she utters about the characters she created gets her unproportional amounts of hate.

that being said, i totally see why kandreil would be out of character for the versions of kevin, neil and andrew that we see in the books. the relationships between kevin and the other two are certainly intense but i wish i didn’t have to suggest in the year of our lord 2020 that relationships can be intense without being sexual or romantic.

lets look at neil who’s canonically demi which means he has to have a profound emotional bond with a person in order to feel something like that for them. he has developed this bond with andrew throughout the books because they have similar backgrounds and are uniquely positioned to understand each other but more importantly because neil was put in a situation where he had to constantly actively communicate with andrew. andreil dialogues take up a large part of the books and enable us to see how andreil develops and works. nothing comparable happens between neil and kevin. they have a different dynamic altogether where neil looks up to kevin in the beginning for his exy skills and in turn kevin looks up to neil in the end for his being feisty in the face of imminent doom skills. neil chose to throw his anonymity away in order to stand up for kevin at kathy’s show which must mean he values kevin a lot, but he also antagonized him throughout the books, faulted him for not getting over his trauma in a timely manner and said the meanest things to him. a great and complex dynamic by all means. i have no complaints whatsoever and certainly don’t see them falling in love.

now lets look at andrew who isn’t aspec and has probably checked kevin out seeing as kevin is conventionally attractive. kevin & andrew is one of the most complex and interesting relationships i’ve ever seen in fiction. when we first encounter them their interactions are so intense that many readers (and neil) have interpreted them as a couple (because like i said before we tragically live in a society where tension is always seen as sexual). kevin and andrew met at such a time in their lives when they sorely needed something only the other was able to give: for kevin it was someone to stop him from returning to an abusive environment and for andrew it was someone who could see his real potential and worth behind his hostile manic exterior. so they started this weird co-dependent non-friendship which didn’t turn into anything else because - my big guess - neither of them wanted it to. andrew knows when he wants to fuck someone and knows how to arrange it but he didn’t with kevin because he already was a more important person to him than, for example, roland. the risks outweighed the benefits. but andrew did “arrange” it with neil probably because neil had something to offer which kevin had not. unlike kevineil where extensive relationship development had to take place in order for it to happen, kandrew could happen just because one of them suggested it. but guess what neither of them did and it’s canon. i for one am very happy that this unique exciting relationship wasn’t spoiled by romance.

finally lets look at kevin who isn’t a pov character like neil nor a character who’s constantly in neil’s focus of attention like andrew. we don’t have a comparable amount of information about kevin’s inner world so we have to surmise a lot of it just based on what neil cared to impart. so naturally the interpretations will differ. i personally see no signs of kevin being attracted to any person or any gender at any point in the books. there’s thea of course but she’s such an obvious last minute addition that i don’t even want to consider her. the kevin i know is living his best life as an unmarried childless aroace exy legend surrounded by friends and family and friends who are family. i’m aroace and imagining kevin single and happy is very important to me. it’s probably equally important to kandreil shippers to see some good polyamorous rep which is only slightly less rare in media than aroace rep. but the difference between me and kandreil shippers is that i have a magical ability to disagree with the author without cursing the very earth she walks upon.

ah yes, another difference is of course that they have an argument set in stone - kandreil was canon in earlier drafts. but do you know what else was there in the earlier drafts? jean was dead in them. so was erik in some of them which made nicky a different person altogether. also i distinctly remember nora writing that she has been developing this story for so long that she has shipped all the possible pairings at some point or another. kandreil aren’t special in that sense. what i am getting at is that in order to have a productive discussion we have to choose a particular draft of the story and stick to it, so if it’s a kandreil draft we have to know what else was different in that version, and if it’s the books then well kandreil isn’t canon in them end of story. 

that of course doesn’t mean that people can’t write absolutely stellar kandreil fanfics but it does mean that they have to dial down what you called “the entitelment”. because aftg means different things to different readers and if you insult the author for writing it the way you don’t like you also insult the readers who see themselves represented in the way the story is written. and kandreil fans are so aggressive. it’s smart of you sending the ask on anon cause otherwise they’d come for you so fast you wouldn’t know what hit you. just the other day i saw a post which basically said that the reason kevin is portrayed in fics in such a reductive way and writers don’t know what to do with him except make fun of his exy obsession and alcoholism is because andreil is built on the bones of kandreil and, being excluded from this relationship by the author, kevin can never be happy. this take right here illustrates very clearly that the shipping culture damages human brain in such a way that a fulfilling life outside a romantic relationship becomes inconcievable. fic writers diminish kevin to those things not because nora decided she wants her final draft to be about andreil, but because most of them aren’t able to write about a character unless they’re in a relationship. maybe some day fanfiction will develop past that but today is not that day.

i have read some kandreil fanfiction to see what the fuss is all about and my expert opinion is that all of it is ooc. clearly in order for kandreil to happen some manipulations with the existing characters have to be made. i consider myself a kevin superfan but i mean the kevin as he is in the books (and in my awesome hc). the kevin in kandreil fics i don’t know, he’s a character from a book i didn’t read so he can do whatever and date whoever, i don’t care either way. i only care when people insult the books, andreil or nora because they’re bitter that their ship isn’t canon. what a way to live in the year of our lord 2020.

Val and Snape openly hate each other's guts and can't be in the same immediate area without screaming at each other. He's petty and she's vindictive so shit hits the fan often and quickly. They're basically just as bad as each other when you really get down to it. Val pretty much tells Snape that he's a useless bitch (paraphrasing) on the first day of class and the rest is history

Everyone gets used to it super quick and just lets them go for it because it's not worth getting caught in the crossfire. Dumbledore finds it amusing but only for the first couple of years cause come one guys can you stop screaming we got shit to do

It's her job to protect Harry so can you imagine can you fucking fathom how stressful that shit is? cause the boy is always in trouble or some kind of danger and Val is just like BOI STAPH standing in the Quidditch stands hoping he don't die

Val and Snape slowly very slowly develop into having a seriously convoluted and overprotective friendship while still managing to hate each other so they would kill for one another but would also still kill each other. They do end up genuinely caring about one another an it's h e a r t b r e a k i n g

An idea that just occurred to me out of the blue:

Since I’ve pegged Alan at fifteen years old, and since I see Kiawe (and Lana & Mallow, but they’re not relevant for this post) at about the same age---

During the family “research trip” (read: vacation) to Alola, at some point Alan and Kiawe’s paths cross---or rather, more specifically relevant to this post, at some point Kiawe sees Alan and he just---he doesn’t even realize what happened at first. He has, up until this point, never really had feelings or attraction toward anyone, much less this tourist with a charizard, who has bright blue eyes and---it’s the tourist that has the bright blue eyes, Kiawe clarifies to himself, not the charizard, although come to think of it the charizard does, too---

And it’s not even really that---the eyes, that is---that catches Kiawe’s attention, no, it’s the way the tourist grips that half-moon pendant around his neck and says, “Key Stone, respond to my heart!” and the transformation that takes place as a result of it. Mega evolution, it’s called, when the tourist’s charizard’s scales shift from orange to black, when his fire turns white-blue and, in all honesty, turns a color very similar to the tourist’s eyes which were mentioned before---

And Kiawe really has honestly never had this happen before, where he can’t quite get his words to come out right, where it feels like his heart is betraying him when he shakes the tourist’s hand and when he very eagerly agrees to a race (a flying race, of course) between their two charizard (which he wins, because his charizard is older and used to the flight path, but it’s actually very close, probably at least due partially to the fact that Kiawe wanted to fly with the tourist and not ahead of him, but---)

The tourist has a little sister (at least, Kiawe thinks they’re siblings---they act like siblings, and he should know, being a big brother himself), and it takes her asking him saying things like, “hey hey, why are you looking at Alan like that?” and “Kiawe’s been staring at Alan a long time, hasn’t he, Hari-san?” and “if you help me get a date with Lillie, then I’ll help you have a date with Alan” for him to finally realize, oh, yeah, that’s definitely what’s going on, isn’t it (and nobody had better tell his little sister, and while you’re at it, don’t tell Mallow, either).

In answer to Alan’s little sister’s (Manon, Kiawe learns her name is) offer, though---as embarrassing as it is, as silly as it might be, as much as he knows that this is probably only going to lead to more embarrassment, and anyway, Lillie is one of his classmates, he shouldn’t be actively trying to set her up on a date with a tourist who is bound to leave in a couple weeks anyway (much less trying to date a different tourist who is bound to leave in a couple weeks anyway himself)---he just sighs, puts his burning face in his hands for a second, and then says beneath his breath, “Deal.”

“Yes!” Manon says, and high-fives her chespin.

((Note: In my headcanon Alan kept the Key Stone and Charizardite, albeit Professor Sycamore had them refastened into matching necklaces for Alan and Lizardon. So please don’t reblog with “but Alan can’t use mega evolution anymore!!” because in my headcanon, which was formed before the series ended, he can, and corrections aren’t necessary here. This is a really dumb story.

So to preface:

I’m genderqueer and grey-ace.  This took a very long time to figure out.

Part of this story is that it’s the day, in retrospect, I should’ve figured out both, because my reactions and what everyone else had expected as reactions are explained THOROUGHLY by it. 

The other part and why I’m putting it under a cut is that my old stalker, before I’d hit being fed up with his bullshit and he’d hit “actively physically dangerous”, ran a D&D campaign.  He made two attempts at plots using my character for self-gratification.  Neither of them actually worked. 

The second attempt will probably get told sometime; it was an attempt at him using my character to both set up something where he could pat himself on the back about how clever and devious he was when he was neither, and where he could soapbox about how Morality is Fake and how “good” is a lie and it was easy to make “good” people do awful things b/c human nature.  It failed in hilarious ways and is the less creepy story in retrospect.  I can’t say it failed by accident because the entire time it was obvious what he was trying to do and I was going “....WHY ARE YOU TARGETING MY CHARACTER FOR THIS S/HE’S THE LEAST LIKELY TO FALL FOR THIS SHIT DID YOU READ HIS/HER SHEET?”

The first attempt is today’s story, and it only recently, over a decade later, sank in on me that he’d been trying to turn my character into fetish fuel, but it fell flat on its face and became a non-event b/c I may have bled a little too much of my own sexuality/gender identity onto the character without even realizing what it was yet.  (Over a decade and a lot of distance/work on dismantling shit and I can laugh about it, and have been since it hit me.)  

Warnings for attempted fetishization + his overall crappy grasp and handling of transgender/genderfluid and a lot of failed misogyny.  

So my character was a late addition to the campaign, and I had to get a backstory that would work.  The party needed a rogue type, and I liked playing trope-subversion characters.

So I rolled a lawful good assassin.  (It was 3.5, so he was a Rogue with assassin build/skillset/prestige class.)  

Basically, Toc had started out as part of a very small organization that operated in a highly populated urban area whose job was to exhaustively investigate and research, then take out crime lords, evil mages doing things that’d impact large parts of the population, etc., as quietly, cleanly, and with as little collateral damage to the general citizenry as possible.  He was in the area of the party because his group had been sold out and framed for a bunch of unrelated murders of innocent people, and he’d ended up exiled/sold off, and the party basically rescued/bargained/swindled him away from the people who were keeping him.

Needless to say, Toc was Tired, disillusioned, grouchy, and more than a little suspicious, but still *very* dedicated to his codes and methods, which involved a lot of harm reduction and minimization of force; he would not be violent without a direct threat to his life, the lives of his companions, the lives of civilians, or clear and solid confirmable evidence that such was about to happen.  

Toc as written was 5′11″, male, and (before I had the vocabulary for it) ace/aro, disinterested in romance or relationships, he had more important things to worry about tyvm.  

In the first session with the party, they were going through a trial put in front of them by a powerful mage NPC - a maze of traps and puzzles.  

Toc, being a rogue, was going ahead and disarming traps, and that meant that inevitably eventually the dice failed him and he got hit in the face with a magic trap.

Stalker-asshole dropped some dice and claimed the results were random; none of us saw the dice rolls. 

Toc went from being 5′11″ human male, to 5′2″ fox-person female.  

There was a long silence where the rest of the party was expecting a dramatic reaction and Stalker looked ready to gloat and full of glee.  

Toc’s reaction, after a moment of confused consternation, was basically “....huh.” and carrying on as if nothing happened, because it wasn’t like being MALE had ever been an especially important part of his life and personal identity, his gender/sexuality had mostly just been “Duty” and “Protect the weak”.  The rest of the party made jokes and tried to console him that it was probably temporary, and he gave them occasional confused glances, b/c it wasn’t that big of a deal.  

I will note here that in retrospect, my usual reaction to people springing “what would you do if you woke up one day A Guy” has always been “??????? I’d...have different parts?  There’d be changes to the meatsack to adjust to?  People would be less annoyingly shitty about what hobbies I should have but just as annoyingly weird about what clothes were appropriate?”, and I’ve usually been most comfortable when people are periodically Not Sure with swings through “the more male the better” and “GIVE ME DRESSES AND MAKEUP” depending on mood, which ..... is where I probably should’ve figured out “genderqueer” sooner, but I had a lot of gender role related issues to work out.  Most of my D&D characters ended up with tenuous relationships with gender and sexuality.

So Toc basically carried on with little more reaction than occasionally grumbling about being shorter than s/he was used to and adjusting to having a tail and fur.

After the trip through the dungeon, the slightly creepy NPC mage offered to reverse the transformation in return for some unspecified future favor to invoke at an unknown time.

Toc gave him the same confused stare as s/he’d given the rest of the party, only with more suspicion.  The NPC knew Toc’s history.  

So the reply was “Actually I’d rather stay this way.  If we ever run into anyone tied to the people who framed me or who recognizes me and the record they gave me, they won’t recognize me, and I could walk into my old home city with my name on a sign around my neck and NOBODY WOULD BELIEVE ME.  This might be the best thing to’ve happened to me after that.”  

At one point there was actually a few OOC questions about how suddenly being tiny and female impacted Toc’s hypothetical sexuality.

They were reminded that I hadn’t been joking when I said his/her sexuality was “duty”.  

A party member, run by a decent human being, was a male fox who was a flirt; he made one or two passes at Toc, got “..../quiet frustrated glare/ Not interested, go away, push it and you’ll have shorter ears and might lose part of your tail”, and left Toc alone after that, because the player was not an asshole.  

Once we got off the island, of course, nobody would recognize Toc anymore, and Toc had embraced his new state as the world’s least sexually interesting female fox furry, so there weren’t any opportunities for NPC’s to make a big deal out of it; Toc turned down any advances with irritation, and the rest of the party would back up “lay off” if anyone didn’t seem like they’d take no for an answer.  

It wasn’t usually necessary b/c Toc was not above very calm and confident threats of castration and demonstrations of ability for such if the first rejection didn’t take.  

(This happened a couple times with NPC’s, but then, it also did happen to our other female party member, who was a volatile-tempered Chaotic Good firemage played by my feminist roommate who would absolutely threaten to light people on fire if they didn’t go away.  Both Toc and the mage took special spiteful glee in showing up NPC’s who made any insinuations about the women as the weaker members of the party, even if Toc was hitting “will respond to whatever pronouns addressed with”; the rest of the party occasionally forgot and lapsed back into male pronouns for him, -I- would use either, and OOC slips were pretty easily handwaved as IC moments of “this was a guy when we met them”.  Toc may not’ve had a strong attachment to being female either, but Toc did think assholes who thought less of women for being women deserved to be humiliated for it.)  

After a while, Stalker had gotten weirdly sulky whenever the topic of Toc’s transformation came up, since Toc’s utter apathy about it and acceptance of it was the source of most of the jokes and humor value to me and the rest of the players; we basically had “what’s in your pants” “justice” jokes about if anyone ever caught the party jumbling pronouns and tried to ask Toc.  “Are you straight or gay/lesbian/do you like men or women”  “:|  Duty” remained the other joke.  

Years later, well after I’d cut ties with Stalker and most of that group, my fiancee tracked down Stalker’s “GREATEST MAGNUM OPUS” giant Ranma 1/2 fanfiction he’d been very proud of and often beaten me over the head with as “REAL writing” and constantly tried to ego-preen and verbally browbeat me into reading.  I’d started avoiding it out of spite, esp. since I had no interest in Ranma anyway.  

Among other things (such as “.....Oh my god Birdy did this guy seriously try to pick apart YOUR writing if I didn’t know you’d met him and heard him talk about it I’d think this was an intentionally bad trollfic”), it became very quickly obvious that he had male-to-female transgender/transformation fetishes along with transformation and genderflip fetishes in general, of the creepy and gross-skeevy kind.  

So it finally sank in that there is no way in hell that trap’s result was truly random, he did it intentionally, his glee when it first happened and occasional failed attempts at picking at gender/sexuality were probably him trying to fish for fetish fuel,

And I managed to completely nuke it and leave him frustrated and disappointed WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING IT AT THE TIME by playing the character too close to my actual relationship with gender and more aroace than I am + having other players who thought my “Gender: Justice, Sexuality: Duty” was hilarious.

alright, i’ve never done one of these things before bc the only other time i hit a milestone like this was on my very first tumblr rp blog years ago, and bias lists in celebration and thanks weren’t really a thing back then. but!! gosh i have so much love for everyone i’ve surrounded myself with here and everyone who’s followed me that i really wanted to do something like this.

honestly, thank you so much to everyone who has followed me, i appreciate it so immensely! i’ve never rped in such a big fandom before, so starting up was a little overwhelming and nerve-wracking -- i knew there were quite a number of voltron rpers around and i was so worried that my interpretation of shiro wouldn’t be taken to by many either bc i have some disagreeing views and hcs with others and some of the main fanon, or bc he’s aroace ( and now single ship ), so not exactly shippable, and yet... here you all are!! it honestly means so much to me that those of you here like my interpretation enough to follow and stick around, and i’d thank you an obscene number of times if it wouldn’t get redundant.

this community is surprisingly kind and caring compared to... a vast majority of this fandom, and i love that so so much. i’ve been able to get comfortable here knowing that most people are accepting and respectful, and literally all of you have been so nice to me so many times??? even just offering to talk to me when i’m having a bad day makes me love you so much... i’ve got a lot of love for you guys, so i want to take the time to thank you and showcase you all.
