1: departure

"Sister, do you really have to go?" The youngest princess, Lucille, begged. You were in the midst of choosing clothes to travel in with your two ladies-in-waiting, choosing different gowns that would survive the long journey north. You let out a long sigh as you turned to the younger. She was just 13, a girl of ten years younger. And perhaps the sister you were closest out of the five girls your parents bore. She was innocent, naïve, and terribly sheltered. You gave her a gentle smile as you strode over to sit beside her on the bed as the ladies-in-waiting worked on moving your gowns into suitcases.

Placing her hand in yours, you spoke. "I do. I have to go so our parents can continue to take care of you and the residents of our kingdom." You tucked a loose hair behind her ear as she gave you a solemn look.

"Why does it have to be you?" She grumbled, tears welling up in her eyes. "Can't it be Eleanor? She's younger and... and... I mean she's not as good as you but we need someone like you here! Who else will kepp the nobility in check and help the people?"

"Perhaps it will be you, Lucy," you smiled at her. "Learn etiquette, politics, how to care for our kingdom. I will support you... As the imperial consort." The final sentence came out strangled, your voice cracking as the words struggled to come out. Imperial consort... A fate you wished you could avoid.

Your kingdom was struggling to stay afloat, famine, droughts, and diseases were running rampant across the land. The royal coffers were not enough to fund the resources necessary to create solutions. If it were not for the diamond mines recently found, your marriage to the powerful northern empire would never have happened. In exchange for support towards your small kingdom, the empire would receive you and the rights to the diamond mines. It was of little solace to know you were worth the same priceless amount of multiple diamond mines.

Tomorrow was D-Day. The day you left for the empire. The day you would leave everyone and everything you left behind. Including your secret lover. Including your dearest Albert Wesker.

Albert Wesker was your assigned royal guard by your father. The most capable of all knights, the captain himself. He was far older than you, old enough to have sired you. And yet, there was an undeniable attraction between the two of you. When he was first assigned to you when you came of age, he was cold and unforgiving, never having said a word. But you must've grown on him over time, because there came a point where his attraction to you was undeniable. Of course, as eldest princess, you had a duty to keep your integrity. But that didn't stop you from sharing stolen, forbidden moments and tender kisses. Leaving him and being promised off to another was, as shameful as it felt to admit, possibly the worst part of this arranged marriage. Though, there was some mercy. He and your ladies-in-waiting were allowed to escort you to the empire, but from there, it was a high chance that they would be replaced with people native to that land.

The day was coming to an end far too quickly. After comforting Lucille, you had dinner with the rest of your family. It was a subdued affair. And soon you were up in your room again for your final night, but not alone.

"Wesker," you breathed, choking back tears. He had been waiting on the sofa in front of the fireplace, but as soon as you entered he crossed the room in few strides, pulling you into a desperate embrace. This was out of character for him. He never seemed desperate. "Wesker," you repeated, the tears that you so greatly wanted to keep hidden spilled forth as you buried your head in his chest. He gently rubbed your back in a comforting, gentle way. A tenderness he would only ever show you.

"Shhh, dearheart, I'm here." His voice was husky, laced with pain. He separated for a moment to pick you up, and he carried you to your bed, drawing the curtains aside before gently placing you down. He climbed in with you, entwining his body with yours beneath the silk sheets. And he kissed you, tenderly, so gentle it was like he was scared of breaking you. But it soon became heated, passionate, filled with desperation. His hands wandered your body, expertly removing your dress. Luckily, today you hadn't worn a very complicated one. Both of your garments now to the side, he returned his lips to yours, sliding his tongue into your mouth, drawing a gasp of surprise from you. His hands left hot trails everywhere they went; it was as if he was trying to memorise every inch of your body.

His mouth moved from yours down to your jaw and your neck, leaving a trail of kisses, careful not to do anything that would leave lasting marks. Eventually his mouth made its way to your breast, latching on to your nipple. You let out a quiet moan, trying to keep your noises as suppressed as possible. His tongue flicked and teeth grazed at your nipple whilst his hand played with your other breast, making sure to give the two of them equal attention. Your moans spilled forth, "Wesker!" Although, for going as far as you already have, you might as well. You bit your lip, struggling to come to a decision, but the hesitation was answer enough for Wesker. He moved out from inbetween your legs, guilt panging in your chest as your eyes fell to the tent in his undergarments. If only he was your intended, your future, your destiny. Desire burned beneath your underwear.

"I'm sorry," you whispered, wrapping your arms around him as he hovered above you.

He shook his head in response, "Don't apologise, dear," he laid a gentle kiss on your forehead before laying beside you. "You hold steadfast to your beliefs; it's something I love about you."

"I'm going to miss these nights we spend together," the lump was forming in your throat once more.

"So will I, princess, so will I." Moments of silence passed as you two simply enjoyed each other's company, his hands roamed your body freely, but a lot more tenderly than before.

"Do you remember when you were first assigned as my guard?" You whispered, a small smile gracing your face as you caressed his cheek.

A frown played about his lips. "I would rather not think about those days, dearheart."

You giggled in response. "Why? It's so silly to think back on."

"I was cruel to you, then. Treated you far colder than an esteemed princess ought to be treated."

"Being cold is just who you are." You paused, planting a soft peck on his lips. "I'm just glad you warmed up to me."

He smirked, drawing you in for a deeper kiss, still ever-so gentle. "Who could resist this charm of yours?" He smacked your ass and buried his head into the crook of your neck, taking in as much of your scent as possible. You had yelped in surprise at his sudden actions, but it quickly melted into giggles as his breath tickled your neck.

"Albert Wesker, I love you."

"I love you too," his response sounded filled with more sorrow than anything else.

The next day was busy; Wesker had gotten up to leave before the sun rose, despite your pleas, so the maids and your ladies-in-waiting would not find the two of you together. It was right in time that you got your garments on as well, as the ladies-in-waiting came in and drew the curtains almost as soon as you finished. They assisted you in bathing and getting dressed and having a quick breakfast before escorting you outside, where the row of carriages holding all your luggage was kept. It wasn't as much as one would expect from a royal; usually there would be as many as ten carriages, but being frugal and considering the state of your kingdom, you decided to take only two carriages of luggage.

And now, it was time for your awaited departure, which came all too soon. Your family was waiting by the carriage, and the palace staff were standing bowed as a farewell. These people, whom you have known your whole life, you may never see again. Tears welled up in your eyes as you walked towards your family, curtsying to the king and queen. "Greetings to the sun and moon of the kingdom," your ladies-in-waiting followed suit.

"Daughter..." Your father sighed, gesturing for you to stand upright. Your father wasn't one for affection, but his eyes were swimming with a multitude of emotions as he placed a firm hand on your shoulder. "You are doing us a great service, my daughter. My eldest daughter whom I feel nothing but pride and joy for." Your mother, the queen, sobbed quietly as she pulled you in for a hug.

"My dear, sweet, kind, girl," she whispered, "I know you'll make us proud." She separated and placed a gentle hand on your cheek to wipe away your streaming tears with her thumb.

"Thank you, mother," as you turned to your sisters, Lucille leaped into your arms, unabashedly sobbing loudly.

"You have to write me! All the time! Ok?!" She cried, burying her face into your cloak.

"I will," you croaked, patting her hair as comfortingly as possible. "I trust you to study diligently," you lowered your head to whisper in her ear, "I will support you if you decide to pursue the crown." She nodded. As you straightened yourself, the other three sisters approached you. None of them showing nearly as much emotion as your parents or Lucille. Two of them, Eleanor and Maribelle, envied your prowess whilst the other, Georgina, fears retribution from the olders if she were ever to side with you.

"Farewell, sister. I'll make sure to take on your duties and help care for our kingdom in your absence," Eleanor gave a wicked smile. Maribelle and Georgina didn't say a word.

"Thank you, kind sister, but I trust our parents far more than an inexperienced princess. I know you are eager to learn, but mistakes are far more costly to fix. Please, take your time in learning well my duties before you take them up," Your tone was sweet, and you felt a small twinge of amusement as the smile plastered on her face faltered.

"Safe... safe travels," Georgina's small voice came out from behind Maribelle. Her nervousness was the only thing that stood out about this princess.

"Your Highness, I am afraid it is time for us to depart." Abigail, one of your ladies-in-waiting, murmured. You separated from Lucille, who was still sobbing loudly, clenching her gown in her fists.

"Thank you, all. I will make sure to write and do our kingdom proud. And if time allows, I will visit as well." Wesker, who stood by your carriage, opened the door and held out a hand to help you in, which you took. As the carriages pulled away from the palace, your family stood, waving at you. It was a heartbreaking sight to see; you're finally leaving everything you've ever known behind. Your whole life, your whole family, what you thought would be your future, your whole everything. The tears couldn't seem to stop flowing from your eyes, no matter how much you wiped away at them.

His name is Father Nicolas Leone, and he came to me in an actual dream that i had after a vtm larp.

During the larp, our prince recited the prayer to St. Michael the archangel and it was such a rad moment that i guess it followed me into my dreams lol. the prayer goes shockingly hard, and i included part of it in the description of the piece I did.

In the dream tho there was a blonde priest in red robes facing off against my lob corp oc Griffin (weird but he also has biblical references so i cant blame my brain for the connection) and during it they were both reciting the prayer of st michael as they moved in to fight. I just kind knew the priest was a vampire?? And when i woke up i was like I GOTTA MAKE HIM and my wonderful friends were like lets rp out his embrace and i was!!!! So delighted!!

So, his story thus far is that he’s a young and very aspirational priest who was given his first orders to revitalize the church in an unnamed city. The previous priest was Not a good person and so the whole thing was seen as needing a facelift after that guy went to prison.

Leone is a little bit of a stick in the mud and very dedicated to the church, perhaps a little too wanting of a grander position but very protective of his flock and over all a good man. To the point where he was actually being scoped out as a possible SI witch hunter. This boy has a level of true faith!! The church orders were sort of a test to see if he could manage his position before they introduced something to awaken him.

Then a couple of Sabbat vamps showed up and it all went down hill. They start remodeling the church to suit their own needs (plans to kill as many of the Camarilla court in the area as possible by using the church) and they start manipulating Leone and forcing him to break vows. It gets to the point where he cant tell what’s reality and whats a dream because of how they’ve twisted and hurt him.

His imbuing was a painful and extended trauma that broke his mind and severely tested his faith. And when he came out of it, he came out as two separate identities and two different hunters. Nicolas the Wayward and Father Leone the Martyr.

His story will end in tragedy, as many stories in the world of darkness do, with his church and his sense of self destroyed. The drawing is a representation of the manipulation and trauma he’s suffering. He’s looking up to heaven for help but in that moment, he recognizes that there is nothing there for him.

three non romantic duos:

1. I feel like it's cheating somehow, but between Cyan and Kelis', a bodyguard and her lord who end up adopting each other, and Lei and Calaen's mutual hatred that slowly turns into becoming besties, @anae-leone 's stories tend to really enjoy having non romantic duos with deep relationships as main characters haha, and it's often one of the best parts!

2. Hikari and Castti in Octopath Traveler II. Okay this one might be a bit strange as these characters don't have as much characterization as I wish they did but I love them to death all the same and since they were my first two characters they have a deeper bond than the others in my head x) They're the serious, kind ones you don't want to anger, but Castti tends to take care of others and shoulder too many burdens while Hikari is used to his burdens and has the ability to find the right words to show his supports. That make them a perfect complement for me, the perfect found family, kind of like the mom friend and the responsible younger son. Their little chat in Castti's chapter three, where Hikari tells Castti that no matter what she discovers about herself, he'll be here for her, while simple, really moved me for this reason.

3. Dimilix. While I won't go into details because I'm trying to keep away from this fandom, they're still one of my favourite fictionnal relationships of all times but as far as I'm concerned they're brothers. Brothers who hurt each other deeply but really love each other all the same, despite the barbs, and having that relationship either be restored or end in tragedy with one dead and the other falling into depression because of it... yeah, feels. They made me cry, these idiots.

a ship that might surprise others: Astarion & Wyll. Listen. I did not blay BG III, tho I watched quite a few LPs. Astarion, broken, angry, fearful Astarion with his disdainful sass, saying a bit sarcastically that he wished he'd date someone like Wyll (kind chivalrous and so on) when he was eleven years old got my braincells RUNNING because it's funny, yes, but also so damn cute and sad at the same time, especially with what his last 200 years have been. But welp, they seem to be a relatively rarepair in the BG III fandom, so I guess it's surprising?

FINISHED!!!!! Word vomit and thoughts fresh from reading romantic epilogue hereonout

i love it, i love the route, i love the action, i didnt expect romantic route to go the way it did with fighting and the underhanded scheming but it did! it did!!!! and I am so happy for it - except for the tiny detail which i will forgive because it is that kind of story so no biggie, in my head my MC already stabbed emidio ten billion times thers not enough of him left to feed the fishes no

i love LOVE rio and nokto's friendship here!! i had a feeling the two would be alike in a sense and rio's route fleshes it out, love that little talk they did before rio went away to benitoite the first time, that was Just So Them. So Nokto and Rio-like, i did a lil happy dance

i also love how not everything about the princes we've learned from Leon route all the way up to Sariel, is info-dumped. Like the story here is focused on rio and mc's relationship and growth, with the necessary tidbits re the princes placed in just the right amounts, if this is my first route for ikepri, i would not be overwhelmed and in fact, would be curious to read the other routes. the lack of info for me (as someone who has played since day 1) did not detract from the experience. i like this a lot! sometimes, a newer suitor/RO becomes an infodump/intro to other suitors, im so happy that rio's route is not just one big infodump regarding benitoite - i was so so so so so afraid that would be the case. im glad this did not happen

i may be biased (i am) but i loved the rollercoaster of emotions here in rio's route, in one chapter i am both punching the air triumphantly because of a scene i liked, and the next i am gritting my teeth in frustration because NO NO NO DO NOT DO THAT DO NOT SAY those words

one thng i didnt get tho is the engagement thing, and how MC struggled with her feelings with this, i thought it was the ring to choose the next benitoite heir but apparently its not either. i do not have enough experience reading how this sort of thing is handled and how this "forbidden" desire is written because (surprise!) i dont read a lot of romance stuff outside of games, so this was one thing i struggled to engage with, not having any prior experience or knowledge BUT I DO WANT TO SAY that i love how it was not just MC who was painted to be selfish feelings, of acting contradictory and hypocritical because of Having Caught The Feelings, and I AM SO GLAD SO SO SO SO GLAD AND RELIEVED there was no other woman because i dislike the "RO already has a significant other" plot THAT IS NOT the beginnings of MC being part of a polycule. dont get me wrong, i like reading about love triangles, about having to choose one or the other, or 2 or 3 or 4 people competing for the affections of a Beloved. but i do no like reading: RO has a loving (but sadly absent partner) but now MC is here so RO has conveniently forgotten the other loving and absent partner in exhcange for MC 😭 that just feels so wrong and just gives me general eckkk feels. yes i know cyikemen would never and no decent romance game would ever do that route, but heyy! there's always the first time and i do not want Rio, my beloved's, route to be that for me so phew! so glad it isn't

i do wish the romantic epilogue was LONGER!! it felt way too short but i may be biased (i am)

OVERALL: i loved this, i love it so much and i enjoyed this so so so much! i may gripe till the end of days about how much i want emidio stabbed so bad but thats for my OCs to do now 🫡 i keep on yapping about stabbing emidio, he deserves it but also i personally prefer MCs getting into the thick of things and doing stabbing

Okay, so I was bored and instead of finishing the new chapter, I decided to go to artbreeder and expirement... All day. So after some struggles, I made all 8 princes + Sariel and Rio.

In the future should I make Silvio, Keith and Gilbert too? And Emma? I had fun and I'd do it again. Maybe even for other Ikemen games lol.

But nvm, now I present you 10 ikepri characters by artbreeder + my after touch in Autodesk. (I had to do it, usually for their eye colors.)

(His hair is kinda weird, I had to touch that up, since it didn't quite reach his neck. Also, in general I struggled to make his features look right, I'm still not 100% into it, but I had to stop somewhere eventually haha.)

• Chevalier Michel

(Again, the hair. I swear I had to mix almost all of them with females to achieve some longer locks, since a lot of them have that going on. Also, his hair doesn't really reach his eye, and it's curly, but it is what it is...)

• Yves Kloss

(Okay, he was the first that I did, and I still love it! He's one of my favorites, I love how he turned out. Btw, I had to draw his earring, because it was impossible to edit that. So that's why it looks out of place. He looks so sassy tho.)

• Nokto Klein

(He kinda looks like a woman, to me? I had to mix him with multiple females to make his longer hair possible. But I don't hate it. And again; I edited his eyes myself. He kinda has that resting bitch face here, and I'm living for it lol.)

• Licht Klein

(I struggled with him too, to make his features look right and somewhat similar? I had like 3 tries, where I mixed everything into it, but I actually created this on accident, kind of half-hearted. But in the end I liked this the best because he resembles Nokto and they actually look like twins. Plus I had to edit his eyes, beauty marks and hair a bit. He looks soft uwu.)

• Jin Grandet

(Would it be a surprise if I'd say that I struggled with him too? I had to search for really manly prototypes and match them together, but in the end I don't hate how he turned out either. His hair is more brown than it should be, his eyes too, but I don't think it's that bothersome. Ultimate manly dude. Kinda looks like a Daddy material xd.)

• Luke Randolph

(Okay, OKAY. I'm in LOVE! He's my favorite, hands down! I actually made two versions for him; one with a smile and the other as a neutral expression but his smile is everything! I love it, he looks so precious! I might change to his route after this oof.)

• Clavis Lelouch

(I couldn't quite catch his features, his aura/vibe - if you will - well at first, but after some tries it came out good. I think. I also had to mix him with women, mainly because of his purple hair. I edited his eyes and beauty mark, but I was lazy to do his hair properly. He also has two expressions; Neutral and a mischievous one. ;))

Jealousy. Towards Chev. Maybe they'll play it off like in that one event where Mc and Chev are already close so gil has one more reason to steal her away. Remember this act starts in the middle of our time as Belle.

Because of that I feel like a good amount of stuff will happen after she chooses the king. But the bigger ones will come before. They're either going to have a lot of stuff happening in one day that spreads out through multiple chapters or they're gonna do this. Maybe a little bit of both.
