Okay but now I feel compelled to wonder, in that fun AU of CC and Marilyn being Captain and Mary Marvel, what their lives as heroes would be like

Like, villains are the same for the most part with probable lack of antagonism with Sivana, he’s the dude who hired them for the dog in the first place with the public intent of a historical attraction at a park and on the side of the bus he’s campaigning for mayor. Other than that, villains seem to be the same from the brief moments we see.

They stay out of the limelight, they prioritize keeping their identities hidden for the sake of Billy and Mary’s saftey and childhoods, and they take their duties seriously.

But what’s tingling at the brain right now is how they’d interact with the rest of the world of DC, heroes and teams and whatnot, outside of Fawcett and the menagerie of characters there. We know CC accidentally stumbled onto some daring scene with Spy Smasher and the bunch (no joke, time was funky in Fawcett and CC was alive at that time) but I’d love to see him with other heroes

Like, say he fills the normal roles in comics Billy would’ve, joins JLI and, like his son, tries calling the other heroes out for acting like bigger juveniles than his actual kids and ditches bc apparently the people who save the world on the regular cant not try and fist fight the other every few hours. He’s on and off some team, focusing on his city and his family more and more, pops in for bigger fights when they occur but is mostly hometown based and handles his own issues.

Of newer stuff, I turn to YJ’s tv show for another idea. Aka, CC also being a chaperone for the Team at the same time Billy comes in but with a twist, turns out his kids have a percolation for magic and have been getting the hang of some spells so they’re joining the Team too while CC is on chaperone duty. So leads Billy and Mary’s attempt at a slow entrance into heroism that immediately backfires when they get captured, cue heartwarming scene of dad hugging his kids after a dangerous situation that follows him tearing the base apart looking for them. True dad fashion and all that. What becomes complicated is the World Without Grown Ups plot, in which I say have Billy and his had pre-the plot agree that Billy can have Shazam powers for super big emergencies and Billy definitely counts all adults disappearing as an emergency. Cue once more the fun father son bonding of Billy looking just like his old man with Shazam powers.

Onto Marilyn, who unfortunately doesn’t seem to have more beyond “clever” and “good mom” from comics, but she’s got her hutzpah and would probably be as active a hero as CC while still prioritizing her life and family over heroism. The whole Shazam thing is definitely more a job than it is what kind of person she is, she’s an archeologist and likes that profession more than she likes worrying about everyone else. She’s definitely more no nonsense and, if there’s a difference, she’d probably prefer the more grounded crime fighting than the mystical shenanigans CC would do in her stead. Billy and Mary end up closer to her in quality time since that focus of crime fighting keeps her grounded.

Also, the general vibes of the Captain Marvel tropes. Such as the identity shenanigans.

It is a fun thing of fanfic that, since his civilian identity is very vulnerable and people like their identity plots, Billy has his questioned or revealed a lot. Add in CC as Marvel instead and it flips a bit to be a man who is well known in his home city whose entire family, non-powered children included, could easily become targets if anyone knew who he was. And he’s deliberately secretive about it for that purpose, he’s protecting his children with his wife. So, perspective, there’s a new hero who comes in with a hero partner who is also their life partner. They have the power of actual gods and titans, they don’t explain anything past some nebulous Wizard they can’t name as to how they got their powers, they are very hush-hush on their normal lives but everyone knows they have to have one. It’s hard to contact them, you don’t know they’re working or traveling or with their kids because you don’t know they do work or that they have kids, so you worry what they’re up to for what seems to be every hour they aren’t begrudgingly saving the world with the rest of the heroes. You catch them talking to the other but the minute they hear you they clam up and change everything about how they were just a second ago, you could swear they were talking about digs or gods or bringing someone home but you don’t know anything because you don’t know them.

Cue the mistrust, the reveals, how it all goes wrong and someone gets hurt, be it the other when they don’t have their powers or their kids and suddenly you’ve pissed off the man who loves his family so much he was tearing the multiverse open to try and keep the timeline going where they were all alive and happy together and the woman who loves those kids just as much. Or, say that reveal had villains get both of the Batsons, and now those heroes have to look those orphans in the eye and beg forgiveness, and when fate still demands its heroes out comes two new ones that make it seem like the whole Batson sham was fake and no way Marilyn and CC were the Marvels, the marvels are still flying around after they’ve gone and gotten dead and buried. Cue those heroes looking at the new Captain and Mary Marvel, knowing it’s the kids they accidentally made orphans wearing the faces of the friends they betrayed.

I was very nostalgic over the HTTYD book, but unfortunally the collection I read as a child belongs to my brother and is with him back home. Except this week I discovered the David Tenants audibook and that someone slime tutorial-ed them.

So now I'm listening to "How To Be A Pirate" and as someone who read the books soon after the first movie (and loved the books so much) I always knew Toothless is a very diferent characther (and look movie Toothless is lovely and very sweet but book Toothless is my child, my lil chaos greemlim) but only know I actually got the difference:

Movie Toothless is a very smart pet while book Toothless is a very energetic human toodler in dragon's form. Fifteen years old Hiccup got into the florest and found a very well-behaved and smart if dangerous pet, lifetime companion and best friend. Ten and half years old Hiccup was throwned into a dragon's nest and now he is responsable for a feral two to five years old who can fly, eats A LOT and breaths a tiny bit of fire. He got the job of a pareting older brother and everyone else acts as if he either got a pet or a servant while he is trying to convince his toddler-dragon that showering is important.

Gotham and New York are literally border to border, so Peter lives in Gotham, but works and does vigilante work in NYC, because he doesn't want to get in trouble with the bats and there's like nine of them in the city at all times, while there's not that much heroes in NYC and once a new yorker, always a new yorker.

the thing is, since he doesn't actually spend that much time on Gotham's side, only there because the rent is cheap, he's kinda out of the loop of who's dangerous and who's not.

so when he starts to become friends/flirt with Red Hood's second in command, he has no idea whatsoever and his neighbors are always like "do you really think Jason is a good partner/company for you?"

He's always sooo confused, because what's wrong with Jason? He's a cute guy that likes to read classics, is getting his degree in medicine, likes to hold Peter's waist/use his shoulders as arm support, yes, he smells like gunpowder and blood under his body wash and lotion, but almost everyone in Gotham does! Jason even sends Peter homemade pastries every week, he's dreamy!

so the only conclusion Peter can come up with is that his neighbors are homophobic

okay but like. what would've happened if stain was in ua and became a pro-hero?

because stain, aizawa, yamada, kayama, and shirakumo were all in high school at the same time when they were teenagers. he just went to a different school as them, but dropped out because he hated his classmate's ideologies.

maybe akaguro (stain) enrolls into ua? or he was transferred early on into it somehow because of poor behavior due to his growing anger towards his classmate'e behavior? he would've been in kayama's grade since they're both a year older than aizawa, shirakumo, and yamada.

he probably wouldn't have been able to pass the entrance exam/the hero course classes were filled, and he knew he had to train in order to have a high rank in the sports festival in his first year. he does so and gets a high rank in the festival, and then he's switched into the hero course?

if akaguro was transferred to ua and entered the hero course, he probably wouldn't befriend anyone and would adopt a mindset similar to shinsou's—but his reasoning is that he doesn't want to befriend anyone with "selfish desires".

then when the new first years are enrolled into ua, including shirakumo, yamada, and aizawa—i think aizawa would've gone into the general studies course first for the same problem as akaguro, of not being able to pass the physical entrance exam.

somehow, akaguro would've met aizawa and his first question is "why do you want to be a hero?". when he learns its not for self gain, he starts training him before the festival, and aizawa whoops ass in the sports festival like akaguro did in his first year.

they still talk and are fairly close before akaguro is dragged into the rooftop squad—the whole reason why i think he'd be dragged in is because kayama notices that him and aizawa are friends, and befriends him as well before dragging him to their spot.

akaguro would eventually start to lighten up, and become more laid back and open, by being around them—though he still doesn't agree with those who want to be heroes for fame, he isn't as overbearing about it. he helps teach shirakumo and yamada too, and maybe is able to save shirakumo? 🤷‍♀️

he starts out as closed off, cold, and maybe a little rude, but becomes more friendly and understanding by being around people who forced him out of being closed off. a group he finds himself enjoying and caring about.

i'm not sure what his hero name would be. maybe paralyzer? nightcrawler? 🤷‍♀️ anyways. as an adult he would've become an underground hero, maybe alongside aizawa if shirakumo does still die.

if shirakumo does die, and he becomes an underground hero alongside aizawa. he keeps tabs on aizawa and checks on him with random visits while on the job, and encourages him to follow kayama's advice to become a teacher—maybe he knew about her idea, and was just as concerned abt aizawa.

idk, just spit balling and don't really have any concrete ideas, i just wanted to ramble abt the idea. any add ons/ideas are welcome!! chizome akaguro my beloved underrated mha character <333

Bakugou Katsuki & Kirishima Eijirou:

Both of the characters’ developments rely a lot on each other. They push each other to be the best version of themselves, with mutual trust and respect - of which one of the characters, Bakugou, has never really been seen to share with any other character. They very clearly care about each other a lot, and have a special bond I feel is inspiring and endearing. If there were such things as soulmates, I feel they’d be platonic soulmates, your honour.
