Imagine a hero x villain where the villain is kind of inept, and he basically has one last attempt to convince supervillain he's worthy of his job (and possibly life tbh), and he comes across a badly injured hero. This starts a long con where he ingratiates himself with her, slowly learning details to her powers (think Black Canary's scream), only to sell her out to supervillain. But it turns out he ... might have grown a little fond of her.
Probably a really basic idea. 😅
there's no basic ideas in this house - we like what we like!! thank you for the request as always :)
His whole plan was leading up to this moment. Why is he stalling?
The villain stands outside the supervillain’s door. He should be in there, should be explaining his master plan the he knows the supervillain will love, but no—here he is, lingering outside like a wimp.
He knows why he’s lingering. Of course he does, it’s been pretty hard to avoid.
He found a hero. Injured, weak, vulnerable. He took her in and helped her recover, all under the guise of some concerned civilian who just so happened to know emergency first aid. She was unsure at first; closed off, speaking only to thank him for the food he brought her and the bandages he wound around her injuries.
Then she got comfortable. Talked about her work, the other heroes, how her power worked—her sonic blast, to give it a name. She demonstrated on his poor mug, his favourite, and beamed when the villain showered her in praise and amazement. As heroes do.
She got better, returned to the agency, but not without the stab of affection the villain had managed to plant in her.
The hero returned, of course. Talks of heroism turned into talks of life—her cat was probably eating all her food, heroism made her awful lonely, his sofa was cosy with a blanket over her lap and the fireplace crackling in front of her, could he draw her, please? The villain had tried to play his pad of notes—notes on her—off as a sketchbook before, and was suddenly deeply regretting it.
The drawing’s still in there. He’s been looking at it, with all its wonky lines and uneven pen marks, as he pieced together his plan. Maybe too much. It’s clearly had an effect.
Dammit, now he’s thinking about it again—thinking about her. All he should be thinking about is how he can manipulate the information out of her for the supervillain’s gain. All he can think about is the movie night they’ve planned for this evening.
The supervillain appears at the end of the corridor. He eyes the villain for an awkward moment before he says, “Everything alright, [Villain]?”
Come on, do it. No, don’t. The villain shuffles on his feet. “Yeah. Could I grab you for a meeting quickly?”
The supervillan’s expression only gets more quizzical but he doesn’t say no. He opens his office door and ushers the villain inside with a sigh.
He flops down in his chair, gesturing idly for the villain to start. The villain flips his notepad open, his speech laid out in his mind. I’ve integrated myself into [Hero]’s life. With a little pushing, think of what we could find out! He glances down at the page for inspiration.
The notepad has been open on this page too much recently. It flips itself, irritatingly, to that godawful 30 second drawing, and any words the villain was gearing up to say die on his tongue.
He showed it to the hero with a grimace and she laughed. Loud, unabashed. Like someone who isn’t afraid of who she is. “Looks just like me!” she cried. “It’s no Picasso, sure, but it was by you, so that must count for something!”
The lines are even more crooked than he remembered. Jesus, why did he keep this? It doesn’t do her justice.
“[Villain]?”
The villain looks back up like he just remembered where he is. He did, honestly. He was more than a little lost in his own thoughts. Thinking about her like some irritating fly that just won’t take the hint away no matter how much you swat it.
“Yeah, I, uh, yeah.” Flawless start. The villain clears his throat and flips the pad closed. “I just, uh, thought I’d say that whatever you’ve done with the light bulbs is good. It’s, uh, brighter. In here. In all the rooms.”
The supervillain stares at him blankly. “Is that… what this was about?”
No! “Yeah.”
The supervillain has never had less emotion on his face than right now. “Okay.”
“Okay,” the villain echoes, and with a quick nod he turns on his heel and gets the hell out of there.
The halls are quiet, thankfully. The villain lobs the notepad in the first bin he finds, and after taking three steps he grumbles to himself and pulls it back out and tears the drawing out and replaces the pad in the bin.
He might as well just go home. He has a movie night to set up anyway, and he needs to rob the corner store of all the popcorn they have.

Dying Light: Monsters, We.
a fan fiction | Season Two | Blood from Stone
Tumblr media
Chapter 11: Sleepless in Villedor
In which Kyle Crane might have stayed out too long, wrapped in comforting darkness and counting the stars and his sins. There's also a bit of Frank, some cussing at Hakon, and a flustered Aiden.
>> Read on Ao3 <<
Kyle hadn’t always been the type to remember his dreams. As a child, he’d considered it an injustice. Really fucking unfair, ya know? Why’d Bob sitting in the second row window seat get to dream he’s a Ninja Turtle while Kyle got nothing? Nada? Zilch? Not even a gross smoochy-smooch dream? Predictably, little Kyle had overcompensated, falling back on his imagination and making shit up on the spot as he’d pretended to have the Best Damn Dreams Ever. It’d taken growing up to change his mind. Give him perspective. Suddenly, going out like a light when he put his head down and not remembering shit was a blessing. Because who wants to be eighteen, close his blinkers, and see that boy he’d found on his first tour; so tiny, so dead, torn up by shrapnel, with a gaping mouth and empty eyes where there should’ve been life? No, Kyle hadn’t always been the type to remember his dreams. In fact, he’d been so damn good at compartmentalizing that nothing he’d put aside had ever come at him unprompted. Didn’t matter if he’d been awake or asleep. If he didn’t go looking for it, it left him alone. Then Harran happened and his woefully underprepared ass got bitten. Ouch.

it's kind of weird to me that they didn't bother releasing sushi and tempura internationally at all but at the same time i'm kinda glad they didn't cuz like. yo-kai watch was financially failing in the west by the time 3 released. i feel like if they had released sushi and tempura the franchise would've completely tanked before we got sukiyaki which would've sucked. honestly if anything i feel like it's more surprising that we got all three versions of 2 instead of them just releasing psychic specters but tbf i think yo-kai watch was doing well in the west when 2 released. 2 is just inexplicably what killed the franchise despite being a masterpiece-
#puppy rambles#yo-kai watch#yw3#yw2#idk. i have a lot of thoughts on this stuff#still upset i didn't find out 3 released in america until a while after it did :/ could've gotten a physical copy if i'd found out earlier#but alas. i'm just stuck with a boring digital version. i mean the digital versions of yo-kai watch games are better but like. still#i never got maginyan in blasters even though i could've. the code or whatever was on the receipt but my mom bought it for me#from the nintendo website. and i don't think she checked it and i don't think i found out that was where it was until a bit after i got it-#i did get machonyan and jibanyan t/komasan t's codes entered though so i can get them on any playthrough now#unless i put the sd card in another 3ds since apparently it's system-based instead of sd card based??? which is really stupid#but you can probably bypass that with cfw and i do plan on modding my 3ds eventually#it'll just be a process cuz i don't have an sd card slot on my computer and idk if my moms would be willing to help#so i'll probably have to get a separate sd card reader or whatever. which i do think my moms would be okay with i mean#it's my system and they're cool with piracy lfskdjfjkfsdkljfd-#my moms are so cool <3 i just wish i could get them interested in yo-kai watch but they don't seem to care lfskdjfkjsfdjlksfd-#they determined the battle system doesn't sound fun but i might've just described it badly#i mean tbf. it is very annoying sometimes. especially when my healer just will not heal the other yo-kai#''DO YOUR FUCKING JOB TATTLECAST STOP LOAFING'' -me playing 2#that being said if 1's switch port ever releases in america i am totally playing it on the tv#i WILL force my moms to watch me play funni ghost game whether they like it or not /lh#if we do ever get 1's switch port i hope they make it a collection of some kind with 2 and 3 remasters too i would buy that in a heartbeat#i mean obviously i will buy any american-released yo-kai watch stuff in a heartbeat aside from maaaaaybe y-school heroes#(i'm sorry y-school heroes fans i just cannot get into it. from concept alone it sounds like i would not enjoy it)#maybe sangokushi too if we ever get that but i feel like we probably won't#idk if the franchise it's a crossover with is popular enough in america for that#i hope we get more english yo-kai watch content once ghost craft releases. kinda feel like it's testing the waters tbh#i know it's seemingly just a spiritual successor but still#i do hope that it being a spiritual successor doesn't mean yo-kai watch is over. i doubt that it will since like#punipuni still gets semi-frequent updates

Villains are nicer, anyway
#22.2 (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
As promised, the young hero doesn’t get drowned in a dirty toilet. He doesn’t get drowned at all, in fact, and spends a lot of time being unexpectedly comfortable in the little room the villain shoved him into.
It isn’t much, really—a small bed and an even smaller cubicle for a toilet and sink. All things considered, he was expecting worse. At least it has running water.
It’s about a week—or he thinks, he stopped counting after five hours, honestly—when the villain graces him with his presence again, looking a little dishevelled and more than a little pissed off.
“Alright, well, I bumped into [Hero],” he greets as he slams the door shut, as if any encounter between heroes and villains is caused by ‘bumping into’ each other. “She’s– wow, she’s a bitch.”
The hero opens his mouth to reply, but he doesn’t manage to get a word in. “Oh right, you’re, like, ten, I shouldn’t swear around you.”
“I’m sixteen,” he reminds the villain flatly. “I’m old enough to say bitch.”
The villain gasps as if he just watched him commit a heinous crime. “Like hell you are! Anyway, you’re getting me off track here.” He clears his throat with a dismissive wave of his hand, leaning back against the metallic door. “Yes, [Hero] is… not nice. I tried to get a word in edgeways, but she was more interested in punching me in the face than talking.”
The hero worries his lip, a question sitting on his tongue anxiously. “What did you, uh…”
“Oh, I was asking about you,” the villain finishes as if he read his mind, “and look. I don’t want to be a downer, but she wasn’t, ah, how do I say this…” He heaves a deep breath, as if he’s thinking carefully about his words. “Well, she didn’t particularly care. She’s not too worried about where you are or what you’re doing. You don’t know enough valuable information to put the agency on the line, so she’s just kind of… indifferent.”
The teen already knew this, deep down. The hero never particularly cared about him when he was there, why would now be any different? She seemed intent on getting rid of him, if anything. He’d always had a glimmer of hope though, that maybe, maybe, someone was looking out for him—but it turns out that his mentor, the one who was meant to be helping him, his entire world, was just genuinely distasteful to his presence, even when he wasn’t there to offer it.
The news isn’t new, but hearing it outright…
The young hero tilts his head down to hide the impending tears, but that doesn’t dampen the heartbroken sniffle that escapes him. He wipes quickly at his eyes, annoyed with himself for showing weakness the moment something goes wrong, but the ones he wipes away are immediately replaced with more. He sits like that for a moment, snivelling and rubbing his eyes with increasing frustration, until he notices a shadow slowly lurking over him.
“Okay, well, no need to cry. Not like we didn’t know.” the villain snaps, but not without an uncharacteristic lilt of worry. “She’s not exactly nice to me either.”
It takes the hero a moment to notice the white tissue in the villain’s hand, held out towards him, and he takes it a little hesitantly. “Yeah, but she was meant to be on my side.”
The villain hums a sigh, and the mattress sinks slightly as he settles next to the hero. “I think she might just be on her own side.”
The hero snorts, the humour interlaced with dismay, and he carefully dabs his eyes with the tissue. The pair fall into silence—not comfortable, but not entirely awkward either. After a moment the hero feels a gentle hand against his back, almost soothing but janky with inexperience.
“I didn’t mean to upset you,” the villain continues with surprising sincerity. “I would prefer to stay on your good side so you actually give me the supposedly useless information you promised.”
The teen huffs a laugh, but it sounds a little too sad. “You telling me what I already knew is nothing compared to being locked in the rain for two hours.”
The silence following is tense. He can imagine the face the villain is pulling. “You stayed there longer than most would in such conditions.”
“I stayed ‘cause I didn’t think I had any other options.” He shrugs nonchalantly, but the villain’s hand moves, his grip oddly strong on his arm.
“No, you stayed because you thought it was the best option. You knew we were here,” he says with fervour. “You showed perseverance in the face of animosity because you thought you had to to be good, but not anymore. You’re here now.”
The villain gets to his feet, and there’s a cold spot on the hero’s arm as he pulls away from him. “Villains could use someone like you. Not many have that kind of strength.” He paces slightly, the movement clumsy in the frankly too small space. “You want in on our side, right?”
The hero nods a little too fast. “I wanted it long before I ever got here.”
The villain turns back to him, his eyes glittering with barely contained excitement. “Do you really want to get your own back on her?”
Taglist: @skys-fantasy
He’s dreamed of making his so-called mentor face the sins she’s committed against him in the name of comedy. “More than anything.”

It’s 4am so that means I’ve got ambitious ideas. I’ve been getting back into the Incredibles, and I found out that some of the characters were incorporated into Disney Mirrorverse, with cool new designs and a bit of lore about their upgraded powers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically my ambitious 4am idea is “what if I took inspiration from these designs to give all these characters updated super suits that would better fit into their setting?” Incredibles and Incredibles 2 take place in about the 1960’s, with the golden age of supers happening 15 years prior, in the 1940’s-50’s, which would fit the nostalgic comics vibe the movies were going for. I thought, “what if I use the Mirrorverse designs as a basis, but design something you might see in comics from the 1960’s-1970’s? Since Violet would become an adult in the 70’s and Dash would be a teen by then, but still old enough to try and be a crime fighter, like how Spider-Man was a teen hero.” Because I love these Mirrorverse designs, but there’s something about them that screams “Modern MCU” to me, and that doesn’t work with the vibe of the Incredibles. So yeah, that’s my next big-ish design project I’m setting for myself.
