You really didn’t like getting sick, so waking up to a sore, scratchy throat and a blocked nose felt like hell to you. You weren’t utterly incapacitated, but you were definitely a little feverish and had a hell of a headache. So you’d gotten up to grab yourself some water, as you did, wondering idly whether Hermes would be home— it was one of the days he’d spend almost the entire day with you, after all.

You didn’t have to wait long.

He swooped into existence like air coming to life, a mischievous grin on his face that quickly shifted into a more concerned one. Hermes’ ears flicked out and downwards- a clear sign of his worry for you.

“Hey— darling, you feeling alright?” His voice is softer than it usually is when he asks, tilting your head towards him. You lean into the contact reflexively, blinking up at him before abruptly shifting your body to cough into your arm. 

… the look Hermes gives you afterwards isn’t what you would have expected. It’s almost teetering on the edge of terror— which he promptly hides from view, taking you into his arms, “so you’re sick, huh?”

“Yeah,” You murmured in response, leaning into the coolness of his body, “you looked scared. What’s up, hun?”

“Me? Scared?” Your frown deepens as your partner theatrically scoffs, “never. I do think we need to get you some medicine for that, though, considering you wouldn’t be able to handle ambrosia…”

“It’s just a cold,” You find yourself protesting, brows furrowing, “it’ll go away soon.”

“And quicker if you have medication.”

“Hermes.”

He looks back at you from where he’d shifted to wander out the door, eyes clearly (almost unnaturally) visible beneath the dark shadow his hat cast, “... yeah?”

“I want cuddles.”

And for the first time you’ve ever seen it, Hermes looks torn. And it takes a few seconds for your brain to piece together what he’s so very concerned about— which promptly leaves you smiling in exasperation at him.

“Hermes— hun, love, dear, the spring in my step— I’m not going to die.”

“... I know.” He slowly responds, rocking back and forth on his feet, “I’m— darling, I know. I just— It feels… mortals are so… fragile.”

“... You’re not going to lose me to a cold, Hermes, I promise.”

He squints at you, reaching out to pull you into a hug as he huffs, “alright. I understand. I’ve got one more message to give out and then I’ll be right back, m’kay, darling?”

And before you can protest, he’s poofed.

… You’re not surprised when he comes back in a couple of minutes with a massive variety of things he’s probably stolen from the chemist to treat your sickness.

He’s adorably caring throughout the entire time you are sick— constantly around, even when his errands try to tug him away. More often than not, he’s cuddled up to you like a cat— as if he really is afraid you’re going to die suddenly from a stuffy nose and a slightly abnormally high temperature.

He’s cute, though. And it’s times like these where you really see the devotion he has for you shine.

Suffice to say, you’re also not getting out of bed.

You also think he’s so internally scared of your sickness because of Apollo’s tales, and also the fact that he’s likely seen millions fall to plagues his older brother has started.

You do well enough to soothe his fears by distracting him with appreciative pecks all over his face, though.

Welcoming in a few of our more prominent members of the Isles.

• Joel Beans, the still so-called temporary head of the Isles for the past 20 years. He's grown cold and distant to most outside of his love for his son. A well hidden paranoia has set in, those around him and trying to dethrone him effective in having him have his guard on high at all times.

• Hermes Mythos-Beans, the loosely-titled prince of the Isles, he's become something of a symbol for the creation of the new-era of the Isles. He's seen more with his artwork or instruments rather than with any sort of political or fighting scenes. He tries hard to uphold padre's name and even harder to keep his father safe as much as he can.

• Eddie Mythos, a loved and respected man of the Isles. He was once a cherished father figure to many of the Kestrals & still so for some pirates outside of the Faction. Since his passing, he still remains a quite positive memory among any pirates who knew him in life.

• Scott Denholm, the last survivor of the grand-standing family name. He's more away from home than not nowadays, tending to be one to keep others at arms length. Since his abrupt return and prolonged stay on the Isles, he's made a face for himself of being a major supporter of the left-behind Mythos family.

• Owen Orange, a charismatic and eerily persuasive character on the Isles. She's not shy to voice her thoughts, clear on how he views Joel as some undeserving intruder on their Isles. Many find it hard to say no to him and she's become rather savvy at rallying people to her side, however he may have that play out.

• Martyn Woods, a snappy and stubborn member. Many have noticed an odd shift in his personality since the first Fall of the Isles. Most attribute it a reaction to such an event or to the rumored rejection & built rivalry of sorts between him & a certain ex-Heron captain.

Important faces seen during the journey through the sirens.

• Siren Joel: an imposter's face plastered on a monster. An uncanny resemblance to the partner of our story's Captain.

• The true face of the lead siren, it's disguise falling off after finding the danger they're in.

• Another captured siren, baring a striking resemblance to their captor's long-passed partner.

Happy deitykin euphoria moments :D this is the first time I feel comfortable in my body holy crap. Here's some nerding and yay maybe this blog will be positive instead of having repeated mental breakdowns...yay

*deep breath*

I have COOL WINGS now! (Bodily) I still love them, I hope they stay. My wings are more conceptual as they shift, theyre kind of like shadows, because they more represent flying/realm crossing than my 'true form''s wings. So they kind of flicker like shadows but they are sort of corporeal in that I can feel them somewhat. Nontheless, I love feeling them and stretching them so they fill up my entire room. It feels great. I can even sort of control them now, for example stretching them, or flapping them, whereas before I couldn't really control them. Although now I feel weird lying on my back because owchie even though my wings are made of shadows I can't really banish them at will. It's more of a spiritual ouch than a physical ouch but still, it feels so weird.

2. My talons also moved to the physical realm too and it feels great! They took root where my hands would have been. Theyre sharp.

3. I can finally read mythology without having a breakdown! Yay...my sense of identity is extremely strong these days. I do have self doubt at times but it dosent consume me and cause a meltdown cuz yea reading the myths would trigger me bad as the self doubt spiral would start.

4. I moved most of me into the physical realm and stretched myself out to fill the body with me so now it's mine. And I feel great. I'm able to fly and vibe as myself even in the physical realm (no not in a physical manner obviously, its sorta like.-)

Imagine the body is an empty rubber toy. I have brought me out of just incorporeal realm and 'base realm' and stretched me out from the inside and filling the rubber toy so bodily I'm most of what im like in base realm - not in a literal way but I'm able to express me completely in some aspects with the limited material I have to work with, something I never thought I'd be able to do. Admittedly I piggybacked on my raven form which is already firmly in the body, my deity form (which is another expression of my raven form) isnt quite done figuring out where everything goes but it's got a good template. Holy shit you have no idea how many years it took to learn how to exist and feel normal.

5. I figured out who I am which is...*flops on ground* I've gotten beaten up so many damn times it was fucking hard, because we kept finding more and more Stuff to unravel like plurality and all the while existence is painful...and jarring, as it is, while the body's 'family and friends' think its the anxiety and adhd that are the reason they had no idea we'd been trying to learn how to make us gain a physical form in different realms lol and learn how to 'shut off' or dull other ones because HEY its HARD to live in so many ok?? Meds helped. Now I can only feel 3, 4 max. Could probably feel more if I wanted but...no thanks. I just wanna exist here man I have better senses and there's good food like pizza and stuff even if I can't fly ok.

The relief and being able to just..exist..without encountering pitfall after jarring pitfall is Hecking rad. I need to rest. At the same time I'm so excited and relieved, it's the first time I feel real, present in this realm, whereas before it was like staring at the physical realm through a pane of thick half opaque glass, unable to interact, to just watch.

But interact I shall, and interact I will. *puffs out chest and flies into a window*

Me feeling like I'm just being lazy and wasting my time:

Sitting all day.

Listening to music at every waking hour.

Getting high.

Watching videos.

Talking online.

Eating copious amounts of pasta.

Drinking sugary beverages. Taking an ungodly amount of baths.

Not bothering to get dressed afterward and sleeping in my towel.

Sleeping for several hours longer than I 'should'. "I need to stop"

Hermes taking care of me/us/the body:

Resting (sitting).

Listening to music.

Getting high.

Watching funny videos.

Talking to friends.

Eating available food (pasta).

Drinking happy drinks (honey and coffee).

Taking even more baths.

Captian Sausage and his two most trusted crewmates, Krow & Will. Sure hope nothing tragic happens to this close trio

The Regent Monarch Joel & his son, Hermes. 10 years into waiting for Sausage to return, they hold steady on the Isles, rebuilding and keeping steady.

Two of our biggest gods of the story, Aeor & Exor. Aeor, the cold & powerful. The one that will see things through the way he sees fit. Exor, the strategic & brutal. The one to hold their Champion close but will not hesitate to put one in their place.

The "Cyclopes" Codfather Jimmy & the Goddess Ocean Queen Lizzie. After an attack of desperation causing a tidal wave of a ripple effect, the Ocean Queen is unhesitant to show careless "travelers" just how ruthless she can be.
