Life update. Probably the last I’ll do for a while

Unfortunately, my little family is still not doing great. The economy is rough, so jobs are pretty few and far between. Commissions have been our only source of income for the past four months, and that’s barely been enough to get by. On top of that, my health is pretty bad, so I haven’t been able to manage my usual turnarounds. It’s all very tiring. We have leads and interviews coming up, so we can only hope things will get better soon. I’m not giving up hope that we’ll get through this, but the exhaustion is setting in.

On top of that, I’m just not all that into Sonic anymore. It’s hard to lose a hyperfixation, especially one that has brought me so much community and joy for so long. I’ve just simply lost touch with the fandom, and I don’t find myself as excited as I usually would be for upcoming events. The ending of Prime and the Knuckles series just really took it out of me lmao.

Because of that, I’m sad to say I won’t be working on Pandora for the foreseeable future. I’m not going to promise I’ll return to it since there’s simply no way to tell, but I want to thank everyone who has supported me through its 100+ pages. I learned so much from making it and have definitely developed as an artist and writer throughout the whole process. It’s sad to say goodbye. Hopefully soon I’ll have the time and energy for bigger and better projects, but for now, I’m going to rest.

Time lapse of my favorite piece at the moment. I really need to draw more rendered pieces, cuz man, I had an absolute blast drawing this one. *deep inhale* Gotta love art block… it’s all ways when it hits you, you want cool ass art of your characters, but can’t because your brain decided to short circuit… okay back to the drawing.

Ignore my little rant there at the beginning of the video. I was explaining to a friend how the clone assassin (the guy I’m referencing) looks a lil different compared to the rest of his bros. I know they all have pretty much the same face, but a few of the lads, in certain cases, have slightly different facial structures. I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but certain clones look a lot different to me when just looking at their facial structures. Not me having done a whole fuckin analysis of clones to the point I can pick out minute details… Anyway, I thought yall might like seeing my art process 🫣😅

Snaps my eyes back open. Cater and riddle remind me of fire emblem fates Leo and Odin….. a seemingly strict and serious guy in charge and his funny lil guy that ends up being more trustworthy and capable and deep under the surface than expected… second right hand man after their initial right hand guy…. And in Leo’s I think A support convo with Odin, Leo mentions that he’d want Odin (and Niles) to stay by his side for the foreseeable future to help him continue the work they do, but Odin knows in his heart that he isn’t from this world and would have to depart one day. And I could see that with riddle and cater. Like riddle wanting to keep cater (and Trey) in his life for a long time, vs cater who does value his friends but isn’t accustomed to forming long term friendships and likely expects they’ll fall out of contact over time…. Head in my hands it all makes sense now like I’m SO attached to Leo and Odin as a combo both as a ship and also in general as lord + retainer with a really touching (and tragic when u think of the implications of the future) bond, and as their trio with Niles. Like of COURSE I was going to get attached to riddle and cater as a duo and also their trio thing with Trey. I was doomed from the start!!!!!!
