I'm such a mess over him right now that I'm not sure how coherently I can express my appreciation for him.

The knowledge of what the Preceptors did during his hatching rebirth specifically, gosh it feels a bit weird finally hearing it directly explained in-game after a year or so. AND HOW CHILLING it must've been for all of them to listen Taoran literally try to attempt the same thing Dan Feng did + try to get away with it by hatching rebirth. Dan Heng was NOT having it and rightfully so. This was such a notable moment for him.

Embracing Dan Feng as his past, with all the weight of those sins, but not letting it define his present and future...I really wanted to cry.

He knows better than anyone about this kind of thing. The line between past and present is thin and blurry, but it's one he chooses to bear.

These lines are so important to me. Responsibility of the past but also being his own separate person from Dan Feng. Being a Vidyadhara brings up so many interesting questions about identity and existence. Even with the way players have went back and forth about Dan Heng and Dan Feng despite Star Rail giving an answer, it's fascinating as it is painful at times.

Alright y’all, end of the season! One hell of an episode fr. Without a doubt season 2 has been a fantastic season, developing so much of this storyline in a profound way. The finale sets up for a lot to be handled in Season 3, so here’s to hoping they get the green light to make it.

John has absolutely become a favorite character of mine, and this season has only reinforced that. So much of my emotions while watching have been in empathy for John, which makes these episodes land so much harder.

And shoutout everyone who’s stuck around just for these little posts I make. I started making them just for fun but I kept up with it since y’all seemed to like it, which is cool because now I have a little catalogue of what I was thinking during the episodes that I can look at in the future. And FOR THE RECORD I’m not gonna disappear until season 3 comes out. I still need to get caught up on the storyline in the games lol.

the skip between season 3 & 4 and that sudden TENSION

now i must say ashlyn is SOOOO me coded when first realising she was 🏳️‍🌈 right? like making it her JOB to mention when something is queer? pretty me when i first came out- but i digress !!

we can see they’ve ONLY gotten closer and closer over that jump between s3 and s4, with ashlyn ALWAYS texting on her phone NOT to her boyfriend but to maddox. she is the first person she tells about casting, NOT big red. ofc i must add i do believe that before she realised she like maddox romantically it wasn’t ash’s intention to have the break up with big red- but anyways idk i just thought that

ON TOP OF THAT i can only IMAGINE the praise that maddox gives her friend when finding out she got cast as Kelsi. i just know the messages included “OMFG OKAY DONT FORGET ME WHEN UR FAMOUS” and “IM SO PROUD OMGGGG” and so on bro i JUST KNOW IT ‼️

one of my fav episodes honestly like omg so first let us deep dive into THAT scene in nightmares come to life where maddox appears in the reflection + thOSE LYRICS 🤨

so FIRSTLY most of us all connected that maddox being in SPECIFICALLY her camp uniform tells us that this all originates back to camp. the idea of ashlyn having feelings/a crush on her STARTED back then, but she's been FAR too oblivious, thinking to herself "no, i have a boyfriend!!" like girl bffr. BUT LET US TAKE IT FURTHER WITH THE LYRICS WOOOoOOoOooOOoo

the basics of the song is how each character had something on their plate they REALLY didn't wanna deal with (the nightmares)- examples including ricky not wanting to tell gina the truth that dani will have to take over as gabriella, kourtney having to make a choice about schools, carlos and his relationship with seb- and of COURSE ashlyn and her underlying feelings for maddox.

So many feelings inside, new ones that don't wanna hide i gotta listen, so here we go hit the ignition i'm in for a ride ???? anyways onto the episode itself. NO ONE else understands ash's costume other than maddox first of all. like. made for each other wth then of course i cant lightly NOT touch on "SHE NEEDS MOUTH TO MOUTH. AS A FRIEND." now. ik this all can be like "yeah hella gay lets move onto the call it what you want scene" BUT YALL REALISE THE REASON SHE'S THOUGHT MOUTH TO MOUTH IS BECAUSE SHE OBVIOUSLY, NON-STOP THOUGHT AT SOME POINT ABOUT KISSING HER RIGHT??? NO STRAIGHT EXPLANATION. NONE.

and ofc the Call It What You Want scene oh my GODDDDD y'all i cried when i realised it was a madlyn duet like HOLY SHIT there is a madlyn duet AND ITS ON SPOTIFY for me to LISTEN TO. call it what you want is JUST SUCHHHHH A MADLYN song;

written from ASH's perspective, she's saying, quite clearly- "i've never been in a situation quite like this, ive never had feelings quite like this, all of this is new but if there's one thing i know for a FACT- I WANT YOU." like SKDFLGASKDHFgalkfhGLlkjfhL oh my GODDDDDD and that almost kiss at the end? HOW INSANE OF THEM TO PUT THAT THERE BUT HOW IN CHARACTER??? LIKE YEAH IF I HEARD THIS SONG I TOO WOULD BE ATTEMPTING TO KISS ASHLYN. and maddox running away quickly? so SO SO in character. .she isn't sticking around to find the damage that she's "caused" in nearly kissing ash- she's running away, most likely heartbroken to once again go off and text maddison like it's a coping mechanism of some sorts.

episodes 5 & 6

alr y'all it may surprise you but not a lot went down in these episodes madlyn wise buT we very much had the redlyn break up (aka the most chill breakup known to man ((or at least in hsmtmts)))

big red was a complete ally !! (no one is surprised) and was like "okay now GO GET UR GIRL !!" what a king but once again im gonna zoom in on maddox being back with maddison for that moment. as we know from the finale at least a LOT the time that maddox is with maddison she seems to find a way to bring up ashlyn. (ngl i would KILL for a scene with maddison and maddox like that but i'm taking what i've been given...) and im just trying to think of how that must've felt for ASH. while maddison on the other end of the phone would've been like "omg !! hi !! ur the one who's like !! perfect for maddox !! hello !!" ash most likely would've gone home and like practically SOBBED into her pillow.

from the finale maddox also mentioned that she hadn't heard anything from ash since halloween, which either means they stopped talking or just kept talking, gaslighting themselves that it didn't happen (very gay of them either way)

the only other thing madlyn coded that i must add on is "so you're single again?" from maddox. like girl the fact you just BLURTED that out tells me you've been thinking about it a LOT 🤨 gay as hell i love them sm

GAY FINALE EPISODES (7&8)

now. OH MY GODDDDD i must say i cannot pull apart what happened in ep 7 to what happened in ep 8- it was a BLUR, so stay WITH ME here. both of them were FULLY ready to confess their feelings yall !! we had maddox practicing her LINES like she was apart of hsm3 while ashlyn had like a five step plan (which included a tree) into confessing her feelings 😭 like. FINALLY. after what felt like- FOREVER on this season, they were once again on the same page WOOOOOOOO

ofc we see maddox also texting maddison (no thoughts head empty) which once again kinda just proves my point of maddison being a rebound/coping mechanism for maddox. if she cant be with or talk to ashlyn rn she'll just have to settle with maddison (of who, as we covered, seems to hear a LOT about ash as it is). maddox ALSO sees a certain scenario happen. yk the one. the one with ash, big red and andy.

This episode was so good wtf

Like I know it was 1 hour and 27 minutes so they had time, but still, something I don’t like with dramas is that very often an issue drags on for a whole episode or several episodes or a season, but in lovely writer so many things happen in each episode and in this one damn

So much happened???? And it’s very often sadly easy to see where the plot of a drama is going but I keep getting surprised by lovely writer, like they don’t take the easy BL route

This got quite long so…

First, Aey is trying to mess with Gene and Nubsib’s relationships ? Well, yeah, but actually he’s in love with Gene and I really have to watch the episodes again because I really didn’t see that coming, I was so convinced he liked Nubsib??? What clues did I miss?

(also Aey has a very very bad problem with his own self-image and self-worth, he did some very bad things this episode, but this scene of him watching his reflection in his phone, boyyyyyyy, Bruce is a good actor. And like it was a long scene, but it didn’t feel like it, it didn’t feel like time wasted in the episode)

Nubsib is angry at Gene ? Nope, just worried

Aey drugged Nubsib and Gene is trying to find a way to get out this night pUrE? No, my boy Gene is just worried about having sex with Sib for the first time AND actually Sib is somehow just feeling hot and not under any influence, he was just really really into Gene that night

Also so much kissing in this episode?? Like Sib and Gene are in the honeymoon phase of their relationship and they can finally admit to each other how much they love one another. I’m not saying kissing is essential to show in a drama btw, but it sometimes feels in BL dramas that the characters are allowed a quota of kisses per season or episode and once they’ve reached it, it’s DONE, you’ll get a cheek/forehead/hair kiss or a hug, or a high five, but that’s it, and again, it’s not that I absolutely want the characters to kiss, but I can’t help but think sometimes that would it be reality, these people would be kissing right now. So like before Sib’s mum arrived when they were on the couch, the situation they were in really called for a kiss, they were just gazing at each other, excited about this new development in their relationship, but I was in my usual BL mindset of « well, they’ve already kissed enough in this ep » and then they went and surprised me with an another kiss? And not just like a small peck like I’m used to in BL (which again, these aren’t bad, but realistically speaking, this really wasn’t what Gene and Nubsib wanted at that moment) It shouldn’t be surprising, but still it was

AND BAM! The coming out to your parents plot (that is sometimes THE WHOLE ISSUE OF A SEASON, I’m looking at you Korn and Knock) that I didn’t expect in an episode where so much had happened already. So I thought, yeah, they might just pretend they’re not together, we’ll hear some not too good comments from the parents about BL because Gene writes BL novels and Nubsib is acting in one, but nope, they wanted to prove my assumptions wrong again and Gene said he didn’t want to lie to their parents anymore! So yeah, we did hear some homophobia, interesting comments about BL fangirls and how much of a trend BL is right now and it almost seemed like Sib and Gene had changed their minds, but then Gene surprised me AGAIN and they revealed the fact that they’re dating to their parents.

And usually coming out plots drag on which I can understand because coming out to your family isn’t easy, but in lovely writer, in 30 minutes they did so much! Also, in the preview they showed only some parts of this plot carrying on, but I’m pretty sure that like usual with this series, it won’t take the whole episode, maybe the first half of it. And if it does take the whole episode, I won’t be disappointed because I quite like what they’ve done with it already

The double standard of the mothers finding BL cute, but maybe not if it’s their sons. They were saying it would be nice if their sons were actually together, that two grooms in suits would be adorable and that their families would be even closer, but really when Gene and Nubsib admitted they were really together, they went quiet, they cried, they didn’t defend their sons’ relationship to their husbands.

Aaah, the fathers! I expected them to have the worst reactions to Gene’s and Sib’s coming out and also sadly the most « typical »  that we see in series. And they did but not in the usual way it goes. It was really interesting to look at them and see how completely different their reactions were. Nubsib’s father was more about: be careful about my reputation, the reputation of my company and the reputation of this family, and treated his son’s love for Gene like a child’s infatuation that’s gone too far. The authoritative father that won’t even let his son speak and explain, Nubsib could only follow his orders.

While for Gene’s father, it was completely different. He was really really quiet and seemed really suspicious of their relationship before they revealed it and after they did, he just didn’t say a word while his wife kept throwing him worried glances. Then, when it was just their family left, he refused to talk to Gene, just telling him to go to his room until Gene got angry (and again surprised me) saying he was gay (an actual character saying he is gay in a thai bl series, it shouldn’t feel like victory but it does) and loved Nubsib and wouldn’t stop so why couldn’t his dad accept it? Before, AGAIN, dropping a big ass bomb, Gene’s father dated men (or a man) before marrying his mother. As much as this episode surprised me, this shocked me the most lol, I really didn’t expect THAT, but it’d explain Gene’s father’s reaction

Homophobia of course still exists today, but it was even worse when he was young and he never came out and probably chose to leave his partner and lead a « normal » straight life. Seeing your son at around the same age in the same situation but making completely differents choices, choosing to embrace his homosexuality and his love for Nubsib, well, I can understand that he needs a little time to accept this situation and talk to his son

This has become very long and I didn’t think I had that much to say about this episode, but boy I have even more, I loved so much about it. But first:

I HATED that Aey pretended to have drugged Nubsib, especially since he actually wanted to drug Gene and what, rape him??? And then laughing about it? Uh uh boy. Still, I really love Aey’s character, he keeps surprising me and I’m looking forward to his character development.

Otherwise, loved this episode. Gene in particular was really interesting: his conversations with Aey, the way his first time with Sib went (and wow, Sib’s innuendos in this episode, I still can’t get this image of him with his toothbrush in his mouth out of my mind), his bravery coming out to his parents and saying he was gay and forcing his dad to have this conversation and not avoid it.

Loved how supportive the brothers were, trying to tell their parents that society was much more open and accepting nowadays, helping their brothers as well as they could.

On a same note, Gene’s brother getting angry at their father on Gene’s behalf. I loved how their dialogue went about expectations and disappointment in a parent-child relationship, love me some family drama.

Chapter 43 THOUGHTS (whew 🥵)

So hey. I came out of hiding to give my thoughts on the chapter 43 summary by @domeyashiro and oh boyyyyyyy

Like I said I haven't seen or read any official translations, this is purely based off of @domeyashiro’s summary and a few snippets of the chapter that I saw online. This ended up being longer than I expected...because this chapter delivered and I had items. to. unpack. 😏🥴👀👅💦💕

Ok so where to start oh boy ok first of all, let’s state the obvious, Doumeki did not have to be inside the bathroom, while Yashiro was getting naked, in order to render his hospitality services to “his” guest, whom he has not seen in 4 years, and has no working relationship with. In any normal situation he would be rudely intruding on someone’s private moment, but since this isn’t just a guest to him, he’s ok with it, and he knows that Yashiro would not have a problem with it. And Yashiro is not stupid; he knows exactly what’s going on... he’s choosing to let it happen.

Then, Doumeki stays to guard the door. SIR, that is the weakest excuse you could have thought up....but, honestly, I love it. It shows that he’s changed somehow. In the past he stood by doors to actually protect Yashiro from possible danger while he was meeting people (even Misumi, remember that lol..ridiculous...whipped boy). So Now, 4 years later he’s like, I’m not gonna leave the bathroom while Yashiro is bathing, but I also don’t have the energy to come up with a valid excuse as to why, cause all my energy is being used up to keep from being hard as a rock rnnnn. And, like, I understand that Nanahara is in the next room, but I’m pretty sure Y and N have established boundaries and a practice that works for them in the literal years they’ve been working together lol. But I shall entertain, says Yashiro, so here we are.

Yashiro then stumbles and even surprises himself with his own middle-school behaviour, but I think that shows the impact the new Doumeki is having on him. If we thought Yashiro was into sweet, little, naive and innocent Doumeki, who let everything fly over his head, then we honestly don’t know what’s coming our way imho. All that happened is Doumeki made a joke and Yashiro lost hand-eye coordination (don’t tell me he’s blind, pls. let me have this)

Since running into Yashiro, Doumeki has been very in control of his demeanour, he unabashedly does what he wants to by remaining in the bathroom while Yashiro is bathing, and then he makes a joke during an intimate moment (which he shouldn’t even be witnessing..why is he in the bathroom riddle me that). Also, let’s talk about the joke. But before I do, I’m gonna clarify that I’m not 100% sure it was meant to be a joke or if it was a serious question until I see the official translation in context, but I’m going to assume it was a joke for now. The joke was “You won’t need me to wash your back?” which is witty af and im dying. I know we all love Doumeki, but our mans was not a funny guy on purpose 4 years ago. He was the kind of funny that kids are when they say “I have to go poopey” or something. Like, they’re not lying, but why did they have to say it like that, y’know? You gotta laugh cause it’s ridiculous. I think that’s why Yashiro was always saying/thinking “He’s so cute”. But now, Doumeki has demonstrated that he can crack a grown-up joke, and Yashiro might faint.

Then we have them exchanging some wisdom to each other. First Yashiro tells Doumeki that his current boss, Tsunakawa, does in fact like D. Then Doumeki tells Yashiro that Ryuuzaki is only gay for Y, which Yashiro refutes. From this I see two men, on the same level, both with their insecurities and denials, having a real and honest conversation. Both are interested in the other’s life, and neither is afraid to say what they truly think. I also believe Yashiro knows Ryuuzaki is in love with him, so to hear Doumeki say it is another confirmation of Doumeki’s growth in character for Yashiro. This exchange was so important and just sooooo 💕😍🤒

Personally, at first even I was surprised at Doumeki’s anger when Yashiro got a call from Inami. I wasn’t expecting Doumkei to lash out at Yashiro, considering that he knows of Yashiro’s childhood trauma, and Doumeki was always very, I don’t want to say supportive, but at least concerned for him. But, because of his continuing concern and protectiveness for Yashiro, Doumeki lashed out, which shows 1) he is not afraid to be honest, 2) he is comfortable enough in his own skin to show his true feelings, thoughts and emotions without the fear of rejection, 3) considering that he does not want to be rejected by Yashiro (as we will soon find out hehehe), he is also confident enough that he won’t be rejected despite his behaviour. He knows he can win Yashiro over just by being who he is. 2021 will be Doumeki’s hot girl summer. The confidence 🤌🏿...who is she

So let’s sum up what we have so far. Considering that 4 years ago Doumeki would basically clean the bottom of Yashiro’s shoes with his tongue, because master so beautiful, he’s come pretty far. Instead of metaphorically writing love poems about Yashiro and hiding them in his locker, Doumeki is standing in the bathroom literally sneaking glances at Yashiro in the nude. He’s telling Yashiro what he really thinks, without sugarcoating it, and he’s saying things that are going to upset him, because Doumeki knows Yashiro has to hear it. Then the fight scene 🥵🥵💦 they know exactly what to say.. And Yashiro’s little “not that I care though” ppfff.. (don’t you love when someone’s true feelings come out inadvertently during an argument, while they think they’re making a good point). Anyways. First it was Doumeki, and now Yashiro gets mad. He tries to hurt Doumeki with his words, but really he’s admitting that HE’S mad that D joined the yakuza. If Doumeki was soooo upset about what Yashiro said, he would have stormed off in a rage, the way Yashiro is trying to do, but instead Doumeki does the opposite. He approaches Yashiro. And then,...I’m sorry.,....,..I’m still processing Doumeki’s proposition to Yashiro. I know it happened, but it hasn’t settled in yet. If you’re not convinced yet that Doumeki still has feelings for Yashiro, then you’ll definitely be convinced that he was horny for him from the start. It’s almost as if he instigated the fight so they can have make-up-sex after 4 years 😭 if I die before I get that scene my empty soul will be wandering the earth for eternity.

I think Yashiro finally got what he wanted, which I will explain in a moment. Previously, Yashiro had to let Doumeki go of his position because he was unsure of Doumeki’s true feelings for him. Yashiro didn’t know if Doumeki was with him of his own free will, or if he was fulfilling a role that he believes he had an obligation to (stemming from his desire to be a better underling to Yashiro, than the brother he was to his abused sister). Yashiro didn’t want to take advantage of this poor, young man in his care, who has his whole life ahead of him. He sent Doumeki on his way, hoping that without his terrible influence, Doumeki will get to his senses and build an honest life for himself, as he believed that Doumeki is not the yakuza-type.

But Doumeki didn’t want to live in the non-yakuza world, because he wanted to stay connected to Yashiro somehow. Everyone else always said he was the yakuza type, which I have to agree with. Chasing people down, getting into shootouts, car chases, beating people up, breaking bones, etc... hello? But because Doumeki didn’t understand sarcasm and had the outward emotional maturity of a teenager at the time, Yashiro thought he wasn’t made for this world. Now, Doumeki can analyze, introspect, retrospect, crack a joke, you name it. He’s shown he can voice his own opinion, I mean he even said to Yashiro “Was that an order? Because if yes, I won’t listen. I’m not your underling anymore.” I swear, Doumeki was waiting for this moment. He wanted to show Yashiro that this is who he is... it’s not a show, or a lie, or a duty. Standing in front of Yashiro as an independent, adult, Doumeki is challenging Yashiro head-on to confront his past conception of Doumeki. It’s so hot honestly🥵🥵🥵

Closing statement: Yashiro👏🏽 always 👏🏽 wanted 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 tough👏🏽 bad 👏🏽 boy. Wasn’t he leaving class since high school to hang out with criminals..ummm Mister, you have a type, and he’s missing a finger, has a scar on the cheek, and wears gloves. What’s Yashiro gonna doooo

so now she's afraid

(that she's already grown attached to) but she doesn’t know that

so she calls liz and tells her about her plan and her dilemma

and liz tells her to take another pregnancy test

because maybe she's been cutting down on all her caffeine for nothing

and liz does that thing that phoebe does to rachel in friends

(for those of u who have never watched friends, liz tells her that the test came back negative and michelle starts tearing up because she's been attached to this baby already and now it's just gone so she's crying but then liz says that she lied and that the test is actually positive and michelle realises thats she wants to keep the baby)

and they both scream when they realise that there's a tiny smol growing inside of her

and michelle is crying omg

but then, she has a bigger problem

aka the father of this tiny smol

ok so liz tells her to wait until the whole gwen thing blows over

and that if peter doesn't come to his senses, she's going to take this whole gwen thing into her own hands

but somehow she finds herself looking at her reflection in the mirror, two weeks later

her hair is a greasy, knotted mess, at the top of her head, and there's a teeny tiny bump that most ppl mistake as a food belly there are dark circles under her eyes, and her skin looks rlly dull and her eyes are all red and puffy

then she thinks of gwen and her perfect eyes, and her perfect face and wow!

now she feels like shit

but whatever, she decides

because rn she just needs to get thru her finals

which are in two weeks btw

bc she will find a job and she will be able to support her baby

she knows it

so she studies like hell right

but then she takes like a practice test and she F A I L S

he just stands outside her apartment and listens to the faint sobs coming from inside

and although he wants nothing more than to go back inside and to apologise and hug her, he knows that it's only going to make things worse

so he calls ned

when ned gets there, they spend 10 mins silently arguing outside of her apartment

then finally ned goes in

and well when peter slams the door behind him, mj breaks down

because her life has officially gone to shit

and she calls liz and liz is telling her to calm down and that she'll be there asap

but when the door bursts open and ned comes walking in

she decides that this is probably liz's work??

and when ned hugs her, she doesnt say anything but she subconciously holds her belly

then ned looks down at her and he's like

are u on ur period dood

bc maybe this is just a hormone-induced fight and peter's making a huge deal out of it

but she takes one look at her belly and starts crying again bc she's reminded of her situation

ned, as oblivious as ever, hugs her until she stops crying

so when peter hears mj crying again as he nervously paces outside her apartment

he groans and nearly hits liz

then he remembers that oh ya right she's close to mj

and the first thing she does is hit peter across the head

turns out that the whole gwen stacey thing was a scheme

bc gwen stacy was losing her job at the daily bugle and her boss is only interested in spider-man shit

so gwen, his childhood best friend before ned, who knows about his secret identity, offered him a job at the bugle in exchange for some news

and they kissed at some public event and now peter isn't in debt anymore because he has cash

also gwen is gay lol

eventually liz and ned leave

and peter is still contemplating leaving mj alone but he ends up falling asleep on her doorway like a creepy creep-creep

then he's woken up at 12 am bc of his spidey senses

and he bursts thru the door and finds mj on the floor, clutching onto her belly as if her life depended on it and there's a hint of tears in her eyes

now mj doesn't have spidey senses like peter so she has no idea that he's been outside her door for the past 2 hrs

so he helps her up

and then she's like 'sorry, i fell and i landed on my butt and i nearly thought i lost em-'

peter nods because thATS TOTALLY A NORMAL SENTENCE YES VERY-

'you lost what?"

then she leads him to the couch
