I made a new farm in Stardew and called farmer Thistle

I may or may not do some silly sketches with farmer Thistle getting romanced my Stardew boys

To whoever might read this. I need you to go listen to 'That Unwanted Animal' and 'The Rockrose and the Thistle' by The Amazing Devil and think of Kaori!Kenjaku and Jin. It's so Itadori family-coded it's unbelievable. The overall eeriness striking the uncanny valley effect. The miscommunication. One partner being oblivious to the other one's condition and ignoring the issue. The marriage coming apart at the seems. The stitches getting mentioned. The metaphor of possession standing for wrestling one's inner demons and mental illness. The feeling of being watched by some haunting unwanted presence that you cannot shake. Those songs have it all.

im glad this blog is relatively private because im laughing over the fact thistle started as this rootin tootin southern boy with sibling trauma who ended up as a supernatural hunter. like simple and fun and shallow lore yippeee. but i've been brewing background lore involving him and his sister coming from a long lineage of dormant witches where the siblings were the first in generations to have any sort of capabilities but it was a both or nothing deal and jesse died before anything could be discovered.

so thistle is walking around a half of a whole and any remnants of those capabilities just manifest as a sort of slightly enhanced sixth sense and like nothing else lmao

but i just imagine if i had more than like 5 mutuals and having them go "umm....ok bestie..." dkfjgbdfg

Hello! I am really enjoying your Thistle the Show analysis posts, there are some really interesting ideas in that show! (and also from a goncharov-ing a story perspective they are so much fun to read)

eyy I'm so glad! I love that show, I love the heavy atmosphere and the overwrought symbolism and the 'power of the land' magic that's never fully explained and the tragedy of it all, god this show is so good at tragedy for something that does technically earn a happy ending. if KILLING OFF YOUR EPONYMOUS PROTAGONIST can count as a happy ending, god, I never recovered, even if he did come back to life afterward that still just MURDERED me.

it's so thematically satisfying is the thing T.T he dies and I'm just sitting there like....the themes......we're breaking the cycles of trauma and vengeance.......

She does and she is! I'm honestly surprised she wasn't suggested very much; this is the second time her name came up. @go-west-young-meowth Also suggested giving Blackclaw a sibling though, which, means I would choose Skyheart

So counting that, it would be 3.

It is a pretty cool idea to have Reed struggle with his crummy dad and his horrible aunt at the same time. Makes me wonder what his cousins are like. Hmm... I'll have to jot that down.

@doritopaw101 Also suggested doing Vixenleap or Grasswhisker though! Since they're in the background and need more depth. Grasswhisker I'm holding onto just because I like her for some odd reason, but Vixen could absolutely work.

Sunfish also got suggested! It would be interesting to see her be an antagonist, but she is actually killed by Thistleclaw in a provoked battle at Sunningrocks, very similar to how she is killed by Lionheart in canon. Leopardstar kills Thistleclaw in retaliation.

I both like having different names then wc names and want some wc names

Like Spritz Shimmer-Pool over Spritzshimmer, Jasper Stone over Jasperstone, Snowshoe Shiver over Snowshoebelly

But then some cats would just have such cool wc names like Skunk Swirl to Skunkscratch, Tiger Flutterfish to Tigermoth, Gold Thorn-Bee to Goldenthorn

miss Felsul/Thistle and her pink eyes unnerve me somewhat but this is what I'm thinking. I want FR gnomes to be more funky like Pathfinder gnomes and that could be the end of it. but also I was just not feeling any natural eye colour on her. why not pink... without her fancy moustache when older she looks a bit basic... so the pink eyes help her stand out in all these funky fantasy characters
