This is Kate Beirness's charity which puts on a one day event for empowering young women.

In March, they announced a Toronto summit in 2024, then in April said they would announce a date the following week, then nothing. It's now September.

They are a federally registered charity, so their info is easily available to the public.

Here's the money they're working with - they had a $100,000 grant from another charity. And $88,791 in donations from various individual donors:

They gave $25,000 in scholarships. Spent $73,906 on various unnamed expenditures. Spent $31,495 on advertising-- more than the amount of scholarships.

Office expenses were only $186.

Travel expenses were $53,539. The work of the charity was a one day summit event with about 200-250 girls from around Canada. But there were also Her Mark related trips by Kate Beirness and Tessa Virtue to New York City, a retreat for Kate Beirness, Tessa Virtue and other board or committee members to Napa Valley for wine tastings and a meal at the French Laundry. You'd like to think the expenses for actual charitable work was the larger part of their activity, but look:

Total expenditures on fundraising were nearly equal to the $100,000 grant they were given. Managing and administration expenses were a tiny fraction, just over 1% of the budget. Money spent on their actual charity work, less than half

Maybe their big funder declined to give them money to spend on fundraising and that's why there have been no further announcements?
