Plant of the Day
Monday 3 February 2025
The seedheads of Eupatorium cannabinum (hemp agrimony, andurion, hemlock parsley, hemp weed, holy rope, Indian ague root, water agrimony) catch the low winter sunshine and continue to provide display value in the Cruickshank Botanic Garden in Old Aberdeen on the campus of the University of Aberdeen. This vigorous upright perennial has dense domed clusters of tiny light pink flowers in late summer and early autumn.

bound to him.
patrick bateman x male reader.
𝐒𝐌𝐔𝐓. drabble [ 1.1k ].
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒. male reader 〳established relationship 〳 sexual content: top!patrick, sadist!patrick, bottom!reader, masochist!reader, rough!sex, slapping, bondage, light dom/sub dynamics, throat-fucking, breeding.
It hurts. Everything hurts whenever you were with Patrick Bateman.
Not only did you get a thrill out of being treated like you were a disgrace to society, you encouraged Patrickto slap you harder until your cheeks welted with splotches of red, to spit on you with a veil of disgust in his expression, to tighten the hemp bounds around your wrists until the teeth of the rope broke flesh with its strength— you had no plans on surrendering to the pain, because you were a good boy.
It was undisputed that you were Patrick’s good boy.
You were a good boy that took Patrick’s large and throbbing dick however he pleased. It made you whimper, when the weight of his heavy cock renewed the sting in your battered cheek. Slapping the fresh wound with his swinging cock. Smearing his pre-cum over your bruises like it was calming ointment. You attempted to persuade Patrick to shift his priorities elsewhere with the enticing opening of your mouth, the lick your lips, but Patrick was always a step ahead of you. Laughed at you, he loved doing that, when he pulled his dick away from your mouth at the last second after agonizing minutes of smelling the scent of his leaking cockhead.
He loved tormenting you, unraveling you into a puddle of despair until your consciousness was only responsive to the simple presence of Patrick and his thick cock. “Please, please, please,” you begged, and through your desperation, Patrick was proud to reward you for your patience. Though, only after branding your cheek with a seething smack.
“Another peep out of you, and I’m throwing you out onto the streets. Don’t interrupt me ever again. Got that, bitch?”
He held your nape and slid himself down your throat in one smooth push. You choked on your own spit, on your own gags as Patrick forced those glorious sounds of regret and distress into the valley of your tight throat. He was negligent of your own well-being, priding himself on the fact that your body was in reserve for Patrick only.
Until his cock was shoved down to the root. Until your swollen mouth was pressed to the well-groomed pubic area of his body. Until he could feel your throat tighten in futile attempts to swallow his dick down. Until you were in tears because you were at the brink of blacking out. Patrick held your neck tighter, slapping your cheeks in both wonder and in rapture. Ten seconds became twenty. Twenty seconds became forty. A minute becomes two. Copious amounts of drool was leaking out of the corners of your mouth, dripping onto his satin sheets—you were absolutely going to pay for that mess.
And you happily will, because you were Patrick’s good boy.
Once he was done throat-fucking you, you should be surrendering, weakly waving a white flag in the air because Patrick had gone too far. You should be begging for mercy, to be let go, to be freed from the ropes that bound you to his headboard. It wasn’t like you could escape, all you could do was tug. Tug hard at the ropes, twist until the friction had seared marks onto your wrists, but it was all hopeless, the headboard wouldn’t budge. Not a single wobble. You could see wrath and lust in Patrick’s gaze when he pushed your legs back ‘till your knees touched your chest, and right there, this was your chance to escape. You should demand him to stop before it was too late—but you didn’t, because why would you?
Why would you want the pain to stop, when you haven’t gotten a taste of what true pain felt like? When Patrick breached your unprepared hole in one strong thrust, it knocked the tears out of you and stunned you into silence. You felt meek, full of shame and guilt because you were losing yourself to this man’s violent need to completely rapture you like you were some kind of roadkill. Your cock throbbed in excitement as Patrick battered your insides, fucking like he could bruise your gut and see the color bloom at the most tender spots on your body.
He was big, he was so fucking big, and your hole was gripping him, pleading for him to slow down, but that only aroused Patrick, driving his cock forward and back harder, ripping your ass into two. Faster. Harder. Slamming the headboard into the wall with the impact of his thrusts. Smacking his strong, toned thighs against the back of your sweaty legs. It felt like a thousand pin-needles prickling your thighs, then at your face, when Patrick smacked you out of the blue—because he can.
Again, because he owned you.
Again, because you would take it like a good boy.
Again, because you came without his permission.
And again, because although he would never admit it, you looked so pretty crying, splattering cum all over your body while begging for him to hit you harder for the happy accident.
You were taking him, letting Patrick bury his juicy cock inside of you to the root. Churning your hole like he was on a mission to gut you until he was left with shattered bones to fuck. Your piercing cries echoed in the room. Patrick’s large shaft unrelenting and unforgiving, punching your prostate more than a multiple of times to milk your orgasm.
Patrick fucked you with deep strokes, fiery passion in his eyes, veins pulsing from biceps to forearms, sweat stuck to his fringe briefly before he pushed them back to free his vision—because he grunted with completion. He needed to see the marbling of your eyes, the pair rolling back into your eye sockets as he filled your violated hole with warm and thick seed. His hands on your hips were bruising, nails digging into your skin while he rocked your body into his cock, creaming your insides until his balls had tightened from the emptiness. You could feel your hole leaking with his cum, trickling out of you like a combusted can of whipped cream.
Then all was quiet as Patrick caught his breath, staring at your bounded wrecked body like it was slaughtered meat hung up to dry-age. His fingers ran over your ribs, smearing your splatters of cum from one side to the other, nails scraping over your collarbones, then scoffed.
“Don’t you think you should be punished for coming before me? I ought to rope that bitch cock of yours. Open your mouth.”
He was lethal, and you knew he wasn’t good for you, but you couldn’t get enough. You would do anything for him. You were afraid of the person he had turned you into, all by means of his abuse, of his large cock, but you were too far gone.
You were devoted to Patrick, loyal, and honorable.
And most importantly, you were his.

Magical Oil Recipes - Baneful Edition
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/140de6a4384ede0a004041c3d7348ab4/499f4464ebabc27b-aa/s540x810/71059c6baa3cf76734c57641cfe2b2ad465d8e8b.jpg)
For anyone looking to brew up a potion with a less-than-friendly bent, here are some recipes I've created that you might find useful.
To prepare them, blend the ingredients in such proportions as feels correct for your purposes (or as supplies allow). Use dried material except where indicated. Place a few spoonfuls in a mason jar with a screwtop lid and fill the jar with a bland oil of your choice. (Vegetable oil of the sort you would buy for cooking works fine.) Screw the lid on tightly and shake well to combine, then leave the jar in a dark dry place for 2-4 weeks to steep.
Once steeped, prepare a clean storage bottle (also with a secure lid) and label with the type of oil and the bottling date. Strain the oil through paper towels or cheesecloth to remove the plant material, then bottle immediately. Store away from sunlight and heat for up to one year. Use for spellwork as you see fit.
(Please note that NONE of these potions are meant to be taken internally by any means. Observe all proper safety measures related to glass, fire, and potentially harmful plants as necessary during preparation.)
*- Ingredient is potentially harmful if inhaled or ingested. **- Ingredient should not be used or handled if you are pregnant or nursing.
All-Purpose Hexing Oil For general hexing, cursing, and baneful magic.
Dried Chili Pepper
Fresh Lime Peel
Lemongrass (dried or fresh)
Rusted Nail (place in bottle with finished oil)
All-Purpose Hexbreaking Oil For general negation of baneful spells cast by oneself or others.
Agrimony**
Cinquefoil
Fennel
Vervain
Solomon's Seal Root (place in bottle with finished oil)
Backhanded Blessing Oil For blessings that are anything but benevolent.
Burnt Cinquefoil
Bay Leaf
Pine Needles
Bayberry Root NOTE: Prepare as you would a blessing oil, then twist the blessing into a curse, i.e. May You Get Everything You Deserve.
Done in the Dark Concealment Oil For secrecy, confidentiality, and general deception.
Juniper Berries
Licorice Root
Black Hemp (Dogbane)
Ferns or Dried Seaweed Note: For the final ingredient, use whichever is easier to obtain. Both bracken and seaweed work well for basic concealment spells.
Eye of Newt Disruption Oil For disrupting and confounding magical efforts against you.
Black Mustard Seeds
Bloodroot**
Nettle Leaf
Garlic (1 clove, bruised)
No Rest For The Wicked Hexing Oil For punishing one's enemies.
Chili Pepper (any)
Horseradish Root
Cramp Bark
Bayberry Root
On Your Own Head Retribution Oil For counter magic and revenge hexes.
Elderberries*
Bloodroot**
Devil's Shoestring**
Vetiver
Tangled Shoelaces Binding Oil To impede someone's ability to move or act against you.
Pine Needles
Devil's Shoestring**
Scullcap**
Coffee Grounds
Iron Nail in master bottle
Wicked Witch Heavy-Duty Cursing Oil For occasions when a regular-strength hex just won't do.
Wormwood* **
Ghost Chili Pepper (or the hottest chili you can get)
Lemon Seeds
Lobelia* Note: Use With Extreme Caution And Cover Your Ass.
Witchbane Warding Oil For repelling and countering harmful spells.

What Ukrainians ate to survive Holodomor
(translated excerpts from an Історична Правда article): + images source
The villagers would dig up the holes of the polecats to find at least a handful of grain hidden by these animals. They pounded it in a mortar, added a handful of oilcake (from hemp seed), beetroot, potato peelings, and baked something from this mixture.
Those who managed to hide at least a little grain would grind it in iron mills made from wheel axles and cook "zatyrukha" (a concoction made from a small amount of flour ground from ears of grain).
Acacia flowers were boiled and eaten raw, and green quinoa was mixed with crushed corn cobs. Those who could - and this was considered lucky - added a handful of bran. This food made their feet swell and their skin crack.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/06048593886f15785fdafafc5b85b391/10dbcf81d8d65a42-11/s540x810/a3054ef5fbb4f4facb51fabef4f29f3978ea82e2.webp)
The peasants dried the husked ears of corn and millet husks, pounded them, ground them with weeds, and cooked soups and baked pancakes. Such dishes were impossible to chew, the body could not digest them, so people had stomach aches. Pancakes, the so-called "matorzhenyky", were made from oilcake and nettle or plantain.
It went so far that peasants would crumble straw into small chips and pound it in a mortar together with millet and buckwheat chaff, and tree bark. All this was mixed with potato peelings, which were very poisonous, and this mixture was used to bake "bread", the consumption of which caused severe stomach diseases.
There were cases when village activists took away and broke millstones, mortars, poured water on the heat in their ovens. After all, anything found or saved from the food had to be cooked on fire, and matches could only be purchased by bartering for their own belongings or by buying them in the city, which was impossible from villagers that were on "black lists".
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/90af376c658b1566670953b35251a0f8/10dbcf81d8d65a42-c0/s540x810/bae855780dd2fb960f6f50772b06a04678c5354e.webp)
Chestnuts, aspen and birch bark, buds, reed roots, hawthorn and rose hips, which were the most delicious, were used as food substitutes; various berries, even poisonous ones, were picked; grass seeds were ground into flour; "honey" from sugar beets was cooked, and water brewed with cherry branches was drunk. They also ate the kernels of sunflower seeds.
Newborns had the worst of it, because their mothers had no breast milk. According to testimonies, a mother would let her child suck the drink from the top of the poppy head, and the child would fall asleep for three days.
In early spring, the villagers began to dig up old potato fields. They would bake dumplings from frozen potatoes, grind rotten potatoes in a mash and make pancakes, greasing the frying pan with wheel grease. They also baked "blyuvaly" (transl. "vomities") from such potatoes and oatmeal mixed with water, which was so called because they were very smelly.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4edc09a93a814c3221fd9fc4ba342ea5/10dbcf81d8d65a42-bf/s540x810/be47e47bc08a27dd0503f6aa35f2bb58dc897272.webp)
They ate mice, rats, frogs, hedgehogs, snakes, beetles, ants, worms, i.e. things that weren't a part of food bans and had never been eaten by people before. The horror of the famine is also evidenced by the consumption of spiders, which are forbidden to kill in Ukrainian society for ritual reasons.
In some areas, slugs were boiled into a soup, and the cartilaginous meat was chopped and mixed with leaves. This prevented swelling of the body and contributed to survival. People caught tadpoles, frogs, lizards, turtles, and mollusks. They boiled them, adding a little salt if there was salt. The starving people caught cranes, storks, and herons, which have been protected in Ukraine for centuries, and their nests were never destroyed. According to folk beliefs, eating stork meat was equated with cannibalism.
The consumption of horse meat began in 1931, before the mass famine. People used to take dead horsemeat from the cemeteries at night, make jelly out of it and salt it for future use.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6ab9a7d722115d04ca867076529793ad/10dbcf81d8d65a42-0c/s540x810/08dad5b2dfdb3c5d4a22f614a331f61702dcae98.webp)
Dead horses were poured with carbolic acid to prevent people from taking their meat, but it hardly stopped anybody. Dead collective farm pigs were also doused with kerosene to prevent people from dismantling them for food, but this did not help either.
After long periods of starvatiom, the process of digestion is very costing for the human body, and many people who would eat anything would drop dead immediately out of exhaustion.
If a family had a cow hidden somewhere in the forest, they had a chance to survive. People living near forests could hunt/seek out berries and mushrooms, but during winter this wouldn't save them. People living near rivers could fish in secret, but it was banned and punishable by imprisonment/death.

Since I'm vegan, incorporating elements of a canine ancestral diet into my lifestyle will be more about emulating the nutritional balance rather than the exact foods wolves consume. Wolves eat a mix of proteins, fats, and plant matter, with an emphasis on whole, nutrient-dense sources. Their diet is built for survival, strength, and endurance—qualities I can mirror through plant-based foods while maintaining my values.
### **Key Elements of a Wolf's Diet & Vegan Alternatives**
#### **1. High-Protein Intake**
Wolves thrive on a protein-rich diet, which fuels their muscles and sustains their energy for long periods. You can incorporate:
- **Legumes & Pulses** – Lentils, chickpeas, black beans, and split peas
- **Soy-based Proteins** – Tofu, tempeh, and edamame
- **Seitan (Vital Wheat Gluten)** – A high-protein, meat-like option
- **Hemp & Chia Seeds** – Packed with complete proteins
- **Nutritional Yeast** – Adds protein and a cheesy flavor to dishes
#### **2. Balanced Fats for Energy & Brain Function**
Wolves get essential fatty acids from prey, but you can substitute with plant-based sources:
- **Omega-3s** – Flaxseeds, walnuts, algae-based supplements, hemp seeds
- **Healthy Fats** – Avocados, olives, coconut, and nuts
- **Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs)** – Found in coconut oil, which can boost energy like animal fats do for wolves
#### **3. Micronutrients & Minerals from Wild Plants**
Wolves eat berries, grasses, and herbs instinctively to maintain their health. You can add these:
- **Berries** – Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries for antioxidants
- **Leafy Greens** – Kale, spinach, dandelion greens (high in calcium and iron)
- **Herbs & Wild Edibles** – Nettles, burdock root, and spirulina for detoxifying and nutrient density
#### **4. Gut Health & Digestion**
Wolves consume organ meats and bones for vitamins and minerals. A vegan version includes:
- **Fermented Foods** – Sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, and kombucha for gut health
- **Seaweed** – Rich in iodine and minerals, similar to nutrients found in animal organs
- **Mushrooms** – Reishi, lion’s mane, and chaga mimic the adaptogenic benefits of organ meats
#### **5. Cyclical Eating & Fasting**
Wolves don’t eat constantly; they gorge, fast, and graze on small plant foods. You might try:
- **Intermittent Fasting** – Eating within a set window (e.g., 8-hour feeding period)
- **Feast & Fast Cycle** – Some days with high intake, some days lighter with just fruits and greens
- **Instinctual Eating** – Listening to your body’s needs rather than forcing strict meal times
#### **6. Hydration & Natural Electrolytes**
Wolves get hydration from prey and fresh water sources. For you:
- **Coconut Water** – A natural electrolyte boost
- **Herbal Teas** – Dandelion, mint, and chamomile for hydration and benefits
- **Infused Waters** – Lemon, cucumber, or berries to mimic mineral-rich natural waters
### **Meal Ideas Inspired by a Canine Ancestral Diet**
- **"Hunt & Gather" Bowl** – Lentils, roasted mushrooms, wild rice, dandelion greens, and tahini
- **High-Protein Wild Plate** – Grilled tempeh, hemp seed pesto, roasted root veggies
- **Feral Smoothie** – Blueberries, coconut milk, hemp protein, chia, and spirulina
- **Forager’s Broth** – Miso soup with seaweed, tofu, and mushrooms
- **Raw Energy Bites** – Dates, walnuts, cacao, flax, and a touch of sea salt
I'm a nerd and a vegan wolf so have my collected information and brainstorming

@samkshoemaker over on Instagram shared a single person boat/paddleboard grown from mycelium. Mycelium is sort of like the roots of mushrooms- it's actually the largest part of any fungal network, lurking out of sight beneath the surface, while the mushrooms we see are just fruiting bodies for spreading spores.
The maker used a hemp substrate to host the mycelium, with the help of a mould to form the overall shape. Colonisation took 4 weeks, with further time for drying out. The resulting material is quite similar to cork, and was sealed with beeswax.
Artist/designer estimates that the boat weighs around 135lbs/61kg and is 15ft/4.6m long.

Price likes to pick up books on random things because he thinks it is always good to know niche info. Gaz doesn't realise this is the case when he sees a book on Shibari. He is so delighted with Price taking an interest in something outside of work that he gets all the ropes and sets up a suspension point and then presents it to Price.
And even if it was just a random book, Price had found it fascinating. The minute he sees those ropes in Gaz's hands he can't stop thinking about how they look biting into skin. How they'd look biting into Gaz's skin.
It's awkward and difficult at the start. Gaz is clothed of course and Price ties too loose because he's trying to avoid it being too intimate, trying not to let his hands stray too long. He fucks up once and Gaz can't feel his hand for a few hours because the rope bit into a nerve.
But then the next day after a disastrous first session Gaz asks if it would be OK to do it again. If maybe he could take his top off for the chest harness this time. He wants to try suspending and the ropes need to be the right tightness around his body to hold properly. Tight enough to leave marks.
The next session is an exploration. Not quite full trust yet, but they are learning together. Price gets more comfortable with his hands on Gaz. Gaz gets more comfortable speaking up when he thinks it doesn't feel correct.
The third session and Price understands the chapter in the book about emotional connection. Gaz is gorgeous all strung up, ropes cutting through and leaving his normally hard body looking soft with how it flows over the jute, almost like the plush rolls he tends to like on a woman. And he can see how he lets go, how the sharp edges of his mind have fuzzed out and left him seeming boneless.
He holds him after he's all untied. Massages at him to get the blood flowing again, whispers hushed and reverent praises to him. 'Did so well Seargant, perfect boy, took ropes like a dream.' He barely even remembers when he switched to massaging inside him instead. Doesn't know when it went from Gaz giving mumbled acknowledgement of his praise to crying softly and asking for more, asking permission to come with Price buried inside him to the root.
They spend the rest of the evening with Price looking after his boy. They take a bath together and he hand feeds Gaz before wrapping himself around him in bed.
They never call it sex because it feels like too small a description for what they've built here, the perfect connection of it. It goes beyond casual intimacy. It's not romance, it's not lust, it's something beyond that. It becomes their ritual, their safe space.
(It's a very different beast when Ghost finds the book. He has Soap strung up and drooling, fucks him while he's suspended and blindfolded, uses hemp rope and gets hard as fuck whenever he sees the mess of bruises it leaves. They don't quite get into the intimate emotional connection of it, but my God do they get into the kink of it.)

Little Delights
I'm finally finding time to really dig into the SWG Potluck Bingo prompts. So many goodies to work from! Good thing the January amnesty is on so I can keep playing, lol!
Have 5 true drabbles featuring Finwë’s grandchildren, being themselves, but young. Drawn from the Material World board by @grundyscribbling. Thinking of you, particularly, @eilinelsghost, for the Finrod, and you, @polutrope, for the Turgon, lol.
Finrod’s tongue is caught between his teeth as he carefully, carefully levers the sharp edge of the stolen spade. The handle is too long for him and the angle is wrong. The blade drags where it should slice smoothly; it judders in his hands. But he has watched the builders in the palace grounds: he knows he must remove the turf before he digs. So he works away at the roots, carefully piling the grasses to the side. Until the passing gardener shrieks. Sent to bathe and regret his trespasses, Finrod rather daydreams, building his imagined palaces beneath the sod. ***** The taste of metal is maddeningly delicious. Curufin wants to lick it, to stuff it in his mouth until his cheeks puff like some mechanical squirrel, to swallow it dangerously down. His caretakers must keep watch for loose screws and bolts and the random scraps from the forge that are tracked across the property on everyone’s boots and hems. His favorite place in the world is Fëanor’s lap, where he can chew on his father's tunic buttons, tongue the bright gold of his necklaces, and suck the scorch and tang from the fingers of his lean, strong, clever, delicate hands. ***** Papercrafting comes easily to Maitimo. He grasps quickly the relationships between fibers and liquids, the adjustments to proportions and materials for producing this grain, that weight, this shade. He blends and refines in the corner of Nerdanel’s workshop, turning out plain, sturdy papers for her sketches; finer weaves for Fëanor’s treatises; and crisp, clean pages on which Maglor’s music gleams. But he best loves the making of paper lanterns: fine rice paper soaked to translucence, framed to hold a single candle. He lights them for his brothers in the silvery twilight, to rise and travel eastward, carried on the flames. ***** Turgon is first among his generation to discover the other properties of hemp. He apprentices in the ropeyards, learning the elegant twists and loops required for the making of hithlain, working the ropewalk amid the singing laborers, his body graceful in the twining dance. Around the supper-fire, there is more music and mulled wine, and the air fills with a pungent tang that dizzies him. Foreman’s special blend, they call it – grown in a hollow at the end of the hemp rows: a cousin with a stronger kick. Knowing something of kicking cousins, Turgon grins. And pockets buds to share. ***** Given the keys to the storeroom for his thirtieth birthday, Caranthir responds as if handed the crown. Flushed with excitement, he hurries to unlock the great doors, basking in the glory of the barrels and bins and shelves and racks stuffed full with supplies, in the fine dust that shifts in the redolent air and the ledgers for drawing order out of chaos. His fingers twitch, canvassing and counting, proud of the plenitude. Determined to keep it so. He makes his rounds daily, serious and careful as he inventories. He knows his calculating mind is worth his weight in gold.
Also on AO3. Enjoy!

The Hangman
By Maurice Ogden
1.
Into our town the Hangman came
Smelling of gold and blood and flame—
And he paced our bricks with a diffident air
And built his frame on the courthouse square.
The scaffold stood by the courthouse side,
Only as wide as the door was wide;
A frame as tall, or little more,
Than the capping sill of the courthouse door.
And we wondered, whenever we had the time,
Who the criminal, what the crime,
The Hangman judged with the yellow twist
Of knotted hemp in his busy fist.
And innocent though we were, with dread
We passed those eyes of buckshot lead;
Till one cried: “Hangman, who is he
For whom you raise the gallows-tree?”
Then a twinkle grew in the buckshot eye,
And he gave us a riddle instead of reply:
“He who serves me best,” said he,
“Shall earn the rope on the gallows-tree.”
And he stepped down, and laid his hand
On a man who came from another land.
And we breathed again, for another’s grief
At the Hangman’s hand was our relief.
And the gallows-frame on the courthouse lawn
By tomorrow’s sun would be struck and gone.
So we gave him way, and no one spoke,
Out of respect for his hangman’s cloak.
2.
The next day’s sun looked mildly down
On roof and street in our quiet town
And, stark and black in the morning air,
The gallows-tree on the courthouse square.
And the Hangman stood at his usual stand
With the yellow hemp in his busy hand;
With his buckshot eye and his jaw like a pike
And his air so knowing and businesslike.
And we cried: “Hangman, have you not done,
Yesterday, with the alien one?”
Then we fell silent, and stood amazed:
“Oh, not for him was the gallows raised . . .”
He laughed a laugh as he looked at us:
“ . . . Did you think I’d gone to all this fuss
To hang one man? That’s a thing I do
To stretch the rope when the rope is new.”
Then one cried “Murderer!” One cried “Shame!”
And into our midst the Hangman came
To that man’s place. “Do you hold,” said he,
With him that’s meant for the gallows-tree?”
And he laid his hand on that one’s arm,
And we shrank back in quick alarm,
And we gave him way, and no one spoke
Out of fear of his hangman’s cloak.
That night we saw with dread surprise
The Hangman’s scaffold had grown in size.
Fed by the blood beneath the chute
The gallows-tree had taken root.
Now as wide, or a little more,
Than the steps that led to the courthouse door,
As tall as the writing, or nearly as tall,
Halfway up on the courthouse wall.
3.
The third he took—and we had all heard tell—
Was a usurer and infidel. And:
“What,” said the Hangman, “have you to do
With the gallows-bound, and he a Jew?”
And we cried out: “Is this one he
Who has served you well and faithfully?”
The Hangman smiled: “It’s a clever scheme
To try the strength of the gallows-beam.”
The fourth man’s dark, accusing song
Had scratched out comfort hard and long;
And “What concern,” he gave us back,
“Have you for the doomed—the doomed and black?”
The fifth. The sixth. And we cried again:
“Hangman, Hangman, is this the man?”
“It’s a trick,” he said, “that we hangmen know
For easing the trap when the trap springs slow.”
And so we ceased and asked no more,
As the Hangman tallied his bloody score;
And sun by sun, and night by night,
The gallows grew to monstrous height.
The wings of the scaffold opened wide
Till they covered the square from side to side;
And the monster cross-beam, looking down,
Cast its shadow across the town.
4.
Then through the town the Hangman came
And called in the empty streets my name,
And I looked at the gallows soaring tall
And thought: “There is no one left at all
For hanging, and so he calls to me
To help him pull down the gallows-tree.”
And I went out with right good hope
To the Hangman’s tree and the Hangman’s rope.
He smiled at me as I came down
To the courthouse square through the silent town,
And supple and stretched in his busy hand
Was the yellow twist of the hempen strand.
And he whistled his tune as he tried the trap
And it sprang down with a ready snap—
And then with a smile of awful command
He laid his hand upon my hand.
“You tricked me, Hangman!” I shouted then,
“That your scaffold was built for other men . . .
And I no henchman of yours,” I cried.
“You lied to me, Hangman, foully lied!”
Then a twinkle grew in the buckshot eye:
“Lied to you? Tricked you?” he said, “Not I.
For I answered straight and I told you true:
The scaffold was raised for none but you.”
“For who has served me more faithfully
Than you with your coward’s hope?” said he,
“And where are the others that might have stood
Side by your side in the common good?”
“Dead,” I whispered: and amiably,
“Murdered,” the Hangman corrected me;
“First the alien, then the Jew . . .
I did no more than you let me do.”
Beneath the beam that blocked the sky,
None had stood so alone as I—
And the Hangman strapped me, and no voice there
Cried “Stay!” for me in the empty square.

Circle Of Spores Twt | Insta
Digital realism painting of Darragh, a circle of spores druid, surrounded by floating spores. Darragh has antlers and deer ears peeking from his wavy, messy green hair; that has leaves and twigs sticking out from it. Darragh's eyes are light up, casting a glow on their face and armour. Fungi is growing from their neck and they have glowing roots under their skin (these light up when Darragh uses magic). Stars cover Darragh's skin, a gradient of teal to dark green as they travel from their cheeks to their chest. They have several piercings, including; medusa, double snakebites and a labret and are wearing two rings in their right ear. Darragh's top surgery scars can be seen. Darragh is wearing a hemp scarf and leather shoulder pads that strap around their chest. Darragh's staff rests against their back. The background is a teal ombre, light teal spores glow in the background and foreground.

Magical Oil Recipes - Glamour Edition
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/575f607c83f5a0376818543d4a2809d0/b6a44aa6f98fb56c-70/s540x810/b2828ca52ae4e15b202b9bd3c180b1557ccf0cd8.jpg)
For anyone looking to brew up some magic related to glamours, confidence, physical appearance, or eloquence, here are some recipes I’ve created that you might find useful.

At it again with these two being insufferable, ridiculous, and giving me more Thoughts than I know what to do with.
It's been a long time since I've written anything in this vein, and I'm a little 🫣 but. Giving it a shot. Gah. *runs away*
More Terzo x Sibling of Sin goofiness ahead. This is not explicit, but quite spicy. Please mind the CWs 🌶️🖤
WC: 1.5k | Suggestive content, language, established relationship, bantering | CW: Casual discussion of kink, collaring kink, leather kink, light D/s undertones (AKA: the switch energy has been brought to the function), negotiation, verbal consent, UST through the roof
It had started innocently enough.
He had never been shy about his collections, even from well before his Cardinal days—and Ale was nothing if not curious.
Sometimes, though, their snooping got the best of them: like how they'd found his stacks upon stacks of poetry books (Digging through my brooding antics now, are you?), or the shoeboxes of bottle caps he'd hoarded since he was a child (Bought enough Chinottos to fill a museum, darling)—or, now, this.
Angelica, pink-cheeked from hiking across the grounds, had dropped off a new shipment from one of his tailors, and Ale (per usual, when left with his ever-piling to-do list) was just trying to get ahead of the mess—which, apparently, meant finding wherever he stashed his damned storage boxes for his gloves.
It wasn't their fault he had a set of cuffs hanging on the door.
Or a bundle of treated hemp by his sweaters.
Or a shelf chock-full of lingerie.
They'd felt like a bull in a glass museum. So many beautiful, delicate, delicious things, that he had often mentioned with as much flippancy as he droned through his touring schedules.
These were just par for the course. Nothing out of the ordinary, for him.
But for them—doe-eyed in front of so much artistry, cotton-mouthed in fascination, sorely sheltered in their past years from any explorations of the sort—it's an apple-bitten Eden.
They don't hear the door to his suite swing open and closed, punctuated by a husky sigh. Don't hear the heel-toed sidling of his boots across the carpets, silk rustling at his steps. And when he finds them—vestments slung over one arm, fingers already at his collar, clearly ready to strip to his skin and shower off the stress of yet another day of their clergy yapping up his ass—they all but plow him over.
He jolts on his heels like a spooked cat. "What in the Hell—"
"Sorry," Ale blunders, jerking to their feet, "sorry, I was just—"
"Satan, you scared the shit out of me—"
"Sorry!"
Terzo pinches his fingers into the skull-paint over his eyes. Huffs a dry laugh. "My love," he grumbles, soft with exasperation, "why do you have the lights off? Fuck's sake. Those archives have done a number on you." He flicks on the switch, squinting quickly. "What are you..." And then he sees the cuffs in their hands. "Oh."
The downpour of apologies is halted before it can even spill: nothing more than a slow-bloomed smile and a shrewd stare. He always has an uncanny way of weeding out their shame by the root—and he does it here, again.
"I see," he murls, playfully scolding, and leans his hip against the doorframe. "So you have gone snooping again, eh? Must I lock every drawer in sight, to keep you out?"
Ale burns red as a beet. "I—"
"Shh—shh. I tease." He smirks, a dimpled shadow through his paints. Wanders closer. "You are intrigued, no? I suppose I have, ah...talked about these things, but not shown. Here..."
Simple questions turn to equally simple offerings; to him standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them in the half-moon of his suite's closets, frankincense and fresh air and remnants of his cologne still sticking to his clothes, clicking back the hinge of one of several nondescript containers.
Tucked amongst the vines of rosaries are belts and chains; between the silks of his vestments, a rainbow of restraints; and here, in their own little box (Can't have them drying out, of course—helps to, eh, maintain conditioning), an assortment of leather collars.
His gloves alone were enough to set them off, on a good day. But these—
These were something else, entirely. Simple and studded and ringed and lovely: black and blood-red and plum: silver-gold glittering.
Mirroring their owlish stance, hands at his back and breath quiet, Terzo quirks a brow. A wry smile plays at his mouth.
After a moment, he drawls into his usual ramblings. "Got this one in Mexico City," he says, plucking one from the set. "The shop was gorgeous—you should have seen the harnesses, all of them inlaid with silver like this. The detail, alone—I must've spent two hours in there."
Ale lifts their brows. "It's beautiful," they say simply, eyes round.
"Mnh, yes. Thought the little etchings in these were a nice touch," he continues, thumbing one of the rings. "They feel very nice, too."
He slides the collar lazily through his fingertips, weighted and jingling, and they could kick themself at how audibly they swallow.
In their periphery, he's tilted his head. His hair is too slicked back to fall out of place. Too much the image of perfection they love to dishevel off him.
After a pause, he ticks his tongue off his teeth. "You can...touch it, you know," he murmurs, with a coy flash of teeth. Softly, flushing, Ale glares. "Che—they're not just here for display, sweetness," he prattles on. "Though, I will admit: some of them are almost too pretty to wear, no?"
They bite their lip through a smile. Bump their shoulder against his. "Almost."
But not this one. Crimson and sheened with metal, the leather soft as sea glass and heavy as stone, each ring pebbling a cool caress across their fingertips.
Their head feels like mush. They know they've blushed to their ears.
The way he hums doesn't help.
Terzo drags his fingertips lingeringly along their palm, calluses feather-light and familiar; hooks through one ring to trade the piece in their hand for another. "Ah—and this one," he continues: blue as midnight, adorned with tinkling charms and chains. "Very fun. Lots to play with here, huh? This was, ah...Amsterdam, I think? That little Eastside place? Can't remember it, now—it was years ago. I got a few custom made, on one of the tours, and some other gloves, too. The leather they use is sensational."
"Terzo."
"Mh?"
The collar stings like a brand on their skin. A tether barely keeping them on their feet.
"I, uh," they muddle, their tongue useless. "Um." Swallow, again. "These are..."
"Doing it, for you?" Unblessed beneath, his voice. His smile creases at one side. "Oh, I know."
Their eyes stutter, heat buzzing through them. He lifts a lax hand, brushing through the mess of their fringe. "They would fit you," he muses on, slowly tracking his thumb from the shell of their ear to their neck. His skin is always so warm, so addictive. The touch all but sends them into overdrive. "Very adjustable, most of them."
He pauses, making unneeded effort to find their eyes. Green-white and ancient and endless. His thumb slips over their jaw, again. "But you..." He tilts his head back, taking them in like an editorial print; a model in need of one finishing touch. "No, no...you like the simplicities, don't you?"
They only half-feel the collar sliding out of their hands, replaced with yet another: black as death, buttery-smooth, glossed with a natural sheen. In its center sits a plain golden ring.
His eyes follow the stuttered plummet of their own, steady as a panther tailing prey. Raise just as easily again, lashes heavy on mismatched eyes.
"You...want to see this one on you?" he suggests, little more than a breath.
Ale can't manage a thought, can barely get a word off their teeth. Too lost in his stare, mossen and moonlit. In his lips, cattish at the corners.
Slowly, fingers itching against that cool ring, heavy around their knuckle, they let their eyes slide down, down.
The bloom of his pupils is slow to come. But, oh, once it does—
"...On me?" he hushes.
It takes them an age to lick their lips. To breathe, "Yes," like the word is eating them through.
The heat in his eyes could burn them.
Terzo's lashes flutter, an unhurried sweep from their hands to their mouth. He's given them the reins more than enough times; relished in it, as much as he took heady satisfaction in leaving them in a puddle of breathless, brainless-smiled bliss on the sheets. But this—
"Well." His thumb is still on their jaw: sliding again to nestle behind their ear. With it, a drag of his knuckles, soft down the nape of their neck. "You are welcome to do that." Up again. "More than welcome," he says, toeing that slow, soft-growled line that never fails to devolve them into some shaky little thing, desperate to blend the edges of them together, bone for bone.
Their hands are already tangling in his sleeve.
"Ah," Terzo tuts. "We wash up, first."
"But—"
A soft squeeze on their nape is all they need to settle down, spitefully as they may concede. His eyes simmer on them. "Wash, first," he says again, voice low. "Believe me—this is...not a quick process. Not when you get into this headspace." His touch trails over their cheek, catching slow at the corner of their lips. "I'll tell you what I like," he murls, lifting his lashes again. "And you tell me what you like too, mh? Before." His knuckle cusps beneath their chin. "And after."
Dazedly, their brain somewhere far, far past their feet, Ale blinks. "Okay," they whisper. The word kisses against his skin.
His stare is searing, electric, starved. "Good," he whispers back.
And it's almost enough to get them to behave. Almost.
But then he leans closer, just enough—brushes his nose over their cheek, tucking a chaste kiss beneath their jaw, just to gravel, "Good," again—and, well.
They barely make it to the shower.
