Hex has had the same design, aside from some slight color changes, since quite literally August 2020 so I figured he was due for a redesign :)

I didn’t wanna stray too far from the original blue vest/gloves look but with a bunch of new lore and whatnot, I wanted him to look more uh…sic-fi-ish? And include a couple details regarding where he lives in my Hels lore which is Oblivion so I’m pretty happy with this new look :D

Day 1: Dec 2

ZSMA:  It’s the anniversary of the series that started it all! Spanning four years, Zedaph’s Super Minecraft Adventure showcases Zed’s growth as a creator and contains countless silly moments! Farms and western villages, breakups and singing and time travel! Whether you embrace a younger Zedaph, a best build, or a favorite moment, it’s a blast from the past!

Free space: We know that Zed’s earliest series is also one that many haven’t seen, so this day is also open to anything that anyone wants to make! Get crazy with it! The only limit is your own imagination!

Day 2: Dec 3

Hermitcraft 5-6: Caves of crystal and bases galore, we’re going back in time! Featuring lovely characters such as Worm Man and Zedeath, season 5 and 6 give a lot to work with! The rise of the gaming district and the iconic Is That Sheep Looking At Me? entertained the Hermits, and our hero still found time to try his hand at aerial livestock delivery! The following season saw a Jack (Er. Zed?) of all bases, with 5 in total, but no one official base to call his own. Truly, the season of embodying what it means to be a hermit!

Hels: From the mind of Hermitcraft’s own Welsknight, Hels has taken the fandom by storm with its intrigue and possibilities. Explore what Zed’s own Hels could be like, create an elaborate theory where he is a Hels, or where he doesn’t have one at all! If anyone would transcend the rules of the universe to relax and simply share a meal with Evil Xisuma in the most dismal part of the universe, it’s surely the birthday boy.

Day 3: Dec 4

Hermitcraft 7-8: Settling into the Hermitcraft server, seasons 7 and 8 pushed our existing knowledge of Minecraft! From the Cave of Contraptions to the Sciscraper, Zedaph made it his mission to discover the secrets of Hermit psychology as well as some of the most useless functions in the game! Hang out for a round of golf or come up with an even less efficient contraption! There’s plenty of time for a new completely ethical experiment; the moon isn’t getting any bigger…Right?

Oddity:  Zed’s brain and body don’t quite work like anyone else’s, but that’s all the more reason to love him! This is a day to embrace everything that makes Zed peculiar, or to enjoy the peculiarities that he loves right back!

Day 4: Dec 5

Hermitcraft 9-10: Up for a challenge? This pair of seasons has plenty! Try your hand at an advancement or gamification, or design one for our guy! From falling at world height to cheeky spying to getting his friends caught on fire by an angry furnace, these seasons bring plenty of fun! Maybe get a little meta yourself and add a sneaky game to whatever you create!

Death: It’s a well-known fact that Zedaph toys with the cycle of death and life! To me, this seems like a great day to celebrate the way Zedaph celebrates death, whether it be his hundredth demise, making a game of ushering souls, or testing the limits of respawn! 

Day 5: Dec 6

Create: It’s important to properly enrich your Zedaph by letting him play with wrenches and gears with his eccentric friend every so often. Bite into a honeyed apple and feel the rush of being catapulted! Or catapulting your friends! Catapult everything!

Alternate Universe: Put this boy in a situation!!! Get creative and share the role another Zedaph plays (heh) in your story, whatever it may be! Alternatively, try and stop Zed from falling into another universe all on his own. He’s got portal technology, you know!

Day 6: Dec 7

Kris & Jack:  As long as I, Ell Cillpiines, am running this event, there will be always be a KnJ day. This is a day to appreciate Zed’s second channel in all of its filmy frenzied goodness and cast of characters! (D.I.)Why? Because a world without Kris & Jack isn’t a world I would want to be in!

Birthday!!!!!:  It’s a Zelebration! Grab a noise-maker and join the party however you see fit! Happy birthday, Kristopher Zedaph Plays!

was rereading the first part of final chapter of HTP and got caught up thinking about the whole “go get x if we don’t come back by tomorrow” thing between grian and mumbo. what if they didn’t come back. what would x do who would he go to.

i’m a MCSR addict and considering MCC, i’ve been thinking that he goes to some of the crazy good players that the hermits have been teamed with. feinberg, fruitberries, hbomb, petezahutt, and purpled are the main ones— five of the best players going feral to help out their silly little hermit friends. fein and fruit especially cause fein’s teamed with tango, and fruit is fruit. his friendship with grian in old mcc’s makes me so happy. ��fruity b!!” being screamed from grian when fruit finds him from whatever they caught got by in hels makes me so happy.

anyway here’s my hels names for my silly little guys:

feinberg — matthew (irl, feinberg is his last name. matthew is his first name)

fruitberries — rotthorn (rot & thorn. fruit rots and berry bushes have thorns)

purpled — yellowed (complementary colors)

petezahutt — dominoes (goes by “dom”)

hbomb94 — honestly no idea please help guys

gotta be honest, when i had grian say they’d have to tell x it was more along the lines of just ‘he’s the admin and admins should be informed of these kinds of things’ rather than implicating any sort of plan of action on x’s part. but if he HAD gotten involved it prob would’ve been limited to the other hermits (on account of me not being familiar with any players outside of hermitcraft havsjdgajhahs….)

but damn those are some NEAT HELS u got there, idk these players but the names are very pleasing 👀

hbomb94… it’s annoying he’s already got ‘h’ in his name cuz that’s usually my go-to swap letter for a hels HAH so maybe we just keep it. but u could take ‘bomb’ as in the actual physical weapon, a violent action, or complete failure and that provides some fun opportunities. right off the dome i’m thinking either ‘napalm’ (phonetically similar) or ‘blitz’ (describing the action of bombing) or ‘flop’. u could ALSO get into opposites but typically i like to use the more dramatic/violent/edgy names for most hels. ofc it also depends on what characterization ur going for and i don’t know hbomb well enough to design a hels definitively. and for numbers i just swap em. SO some options for ya: napalm49 (dropped the h so it’s the same number of syllables), hblitz49, hflop49.

Who are Xornoth, Worm, Equinox and Aurelius? I can't tell which hermits or empires members they're meant to refer to (like hotguy is scar, cuteguy is grian, Stratos Joel, etc)

Sorry if you've explained this before, but getting to those 4 designs I got so confused cause I had no clue who the frig they were aside from villain of empires season 1 and 3 randos.

First thing, it was drawn by my partner as a gift ! It's of yours truly (or my persona at least) but I don't think the full is ever getting posted

As for x...I don't really have a design,? I have a set design for very few hermits because I've spent the last four years pretty much solely hyperfixated on ex n hels

Here's a very quick sketch of what my most recent (recent being like a few years old) design is like but idk if I fw him right now

Day 55: Family Tree Part 2 (with Part 1)

Part 1 was posted along with another post, so it could have been missed, hence why it is here. More parts will come, but that's when it gets complicated (as all the Hermits count as family). Rambling More info below!

(And reminder I made a discord to talk about the bots)

Remember this is about the characters and not the actual people since, y'know, the bots aren't really real (no matter how much that would be nice). But some of the actual people are on tumblr, and if there is some design element that makes them uncomfortable, please do say something!

I couldn't fit as many words as I would like, and some details got a little lost summarizing, so here's some of that extra context.

I know one common fact that's gone around is that Mumbo joined season 2 when he was still 17 or so. Character wise, Mumbo's bio family is out of the picture and joining as a minor of sorts needed some parental or guardian permission, so Xisuma essentially legally adopted Mumbo to make it easier.

Evil Xisuma would technically be a Great Uncle, but he insists on just being referred to as an Uncle, at least by Tegg. [Insert: I've only had [character] for 5 minutes meme].

I made Pearl's eyes pearlescent! And gave little star freckles! But otherwise Grian and Pearl being siblings is more found family than actually being related, but they call each other siblings.

Speaking of... Jimmy! Grian's lovingly bullying of Jimmy has major sibling vibes. I like to jokingly say they're soulmates, but not in the 'oh we are meant to be together, the universe says so' but more 'No matter what the situation is, even if technically the two shouldn't know each other, they do, and it's to annoy one another.' Soulsiblings if you will. Just, look at the entire interaction when the Hermits went to Empires and Grian found Jimmy.

NPG!!! He cameoed in the previous art piece. A pre-hermitcraft classic! He's in hels now with Evil Xisuma and the hels hermits. Grum isn't 100% sure if NPG and EX are friends, or if it's a low key hostage situation. In which case EX would be the hostage. NPG is sort of violently friendly.

Finally Grumbot Prime and Emperor Grumbot. Grumbot Prime is of course the alternate universe Grumbot that came from the rift. Grum worries about the fact that he wasn't successful getting Mumbo to be mayor while this alternate did. Meanwhile Emperor Grumbot wasn't exploded. Well he was, but got better and now just lives in Empires. (I mean this whole thing is sort of an au since Grum and Jrum aren't in s9, and tegg never hatched, etc etc, so empires is a lil changed as well.) Oh also Jrum doesn't just 'want' the crown, he just tries stealing it when he can. It is shiny. He want. Gib.

I HAVE DEVELOPED A DESIGN FOR FIN ‼️

personality wise, i kinda described them in this post, but that wasn't super in-depth lol.

i feel like Fin (full name Infinity, because 8 sideways is ∞, i'm so good at names guys) isn't a direct opposite of Eight, more like if Eight's work-life balance was just. worse.

instead of a dark reflection of Fin, Eight is more of Fin's "i wish i was like this" instead of being kind of holed up, vaguely traumatized from being alone for long stretches of time, and concerned more with work and survival than building a social circle. the thing that makes Fin the hermit and Eight the helsmet is the fact that Fin is convinced that they're happy this way.

Fin doesn't (at least openly) realize that they could be working to have free time instead of just working keep busy. and they really do enjoy their work! they think that by doing the thing that makes them happy all the time, they're feeling happy all the time. and yeah that could work but also burnout exists lol

speaking of, i think Fin's job is way different than Eight's, and they view Eight's job as mundane and unimportant (because seriously, who in hels is spending their hard-earned currency on jewelry?) i think they'd be a weapons smith specifically for other little guys like themself, or sometimes a quality assurance for large weapons. i think they dabble in redstone as well, able to make smaller and more efficient contraptions with their tiny build. maybe doing quality checks for armor too. i feel like they'd be an invaluable part of a smithing shop especially where chainmail is made, able to fix broken links with ease.

i think in some way, Eight is an imaginary friend that Fin would talk to when they were left alone on a given world for whatever reason. (i don't wanna integrate sizeism into my story but honestly it's a little funny so we're gonna say they were alone because people didn't want to build things that accommodated for their size)((can you tell i think about o!sneeg every day of my life)). their way of communicating/visiting each other would be flying into and through lanterns. i'm being so serious that's what i've come up with (i wanted to say just flying through soul lanterns but they don't generate naturally anywhere but the ancient city so that felt too limiting). they can't speak to each other through the lanterns like tanguish and tango can speak through reflections, but they use them to travel to and from hels/the overworld.

there's more i want to explore with this character, especially their death and its implications, but i feel like i have a complete enough idea of that to write a ficlet over! so look forward to that i guess (or don't, because i say things like this all the time and then never follow through lol)

Ramblin' cuz I be in my "missing being Rendog" hours.

I wanna bake my Nana's pie again. I've forgotten the taste and I don't trust that the bit of recipe I remember is enough to make one. But it was sweeter than all the pumpkin pie I've eaten in the last year.

I miss Doc. He was my best friend and cuddle buddy. We would talk for hours about redstone, take each other on little friendship dates every few months, and we would hangout with a bottle of sake and a pie every weekend we could.

I lived with my Nan for most of my childhood. I don't remember much of my childhood tho. She wasn't a wolf hybrid but she treated me like any normal person. Gods, I miss her and braiding her hair...

Anyways!! I loved the Crastle. It was so pretty! It had stained glass panels everywhere. I loved the one in the throne room the least. It felt like I didn't deserve the god-like status that Bdubs was trying to give me, and I was a prominent feature of that panel. I think there was an archway that had a simple design with yellow, white, and red glass that I passed by often. I like that one the best. The dark oak was so nice to look at. I don't miss being king. It was driving me mad the longer I stayed. I'm glad the hermits dethroned me in the source. I don't remember what happened to me in my cannon cuz my memories fade out around the time the vault was built. (I wish I could remember. I wanna know what happened to me sooo bad. I don't care if it makes me sad, I wanna knowww.)

Okay so I just wanted to say what an absolutely wild ride this story has been. You and lunar have made such an amazing universe. Your writing skills and general talent regularly broke me over this last year or so. I am so unbelievably happy about having found you guys just as you started to write the actual story. I can't wait to see what you work on next (after a very well deserved break lol) whether it be more in the hels verse or whatever else. I have made so many random stories in my heads with these characters and concepts for ages now. Now please enjoy my random thoughts I've had over the last few days....

If hels is unlocked now, are portals able to work there or is it still its own weird thing? Can people in Hels make their own worlds now? If they can do they spawn like a normal world or is it like a private hels style world? Does it depend where they are when they make the world?

I was regularly one of the people asking about BX and AI as well as PAtho and Dbubs so I have to say thank you soooo much for their pieces (I think you may have used my asks about them a few times as an easy reply to post side stories about them and I literally gasped out loud when you did). BX causally letting Altas see who/what he is was chef kisses. Papa AI wanting to hear about it all the time. Love it

Zed automatically feeling so guilty and apologizing for the lab stuff in season 8 was so sweet and sad. Man just wanted to have fun not cause trauma.

Doc and Stress dealing with their creation in such different ways. Stress not fully understanding Doc's concern. Also thinking that now those 2 will be more similar to all the new players after Alex. Also you wrote Stress so so so well.

Herobrine being Hels admin was peak!!!! The fact he went by Adam made me just think about the meme of reversing the homophobic saying by saying its not Adam and Eve but Adam and Steve. Which now makes me giggle about Herobrine wanting to fight steve. Complicated love lol.

God I keep thinking about all the potential interactions of hermits with their hels counterparts.

Also Instinct has already a spot of interest in my mind and now seeing Lunars art for him he is always on the mind lol.

HHHHHH thank u so much i was very pleased w how the conclusion came out.

as for the current state of hels: at the end of the story, the universe decided to drop the firewall around hels. this means that anyone attempting to make a hacked nether portal out of hels will no longer have to provide continuous updates to bypass the firewall (ie. they don’t have to power the portals anymore). this will speed up the process, as we saw w the double lifers making their portal.

howEVER, the reason hels players can’t make comm portals is bc their comms are hardwired to have the option disabled, and that is still applicable. any communicator that generates in hels will be unable to create portals by default, just based on how the world was designed. but once they travel to another world, that world’s admin can make them a new one (like xisuma did for tango) so they’ll be able to do that. and if they do, it’ll just be like a normal solo world! tango’s discovered this himself since being on hermitcraft.

hopefully that all makes sense 🧍‍♂️
