Hi Kakasaku family, Zelha, a founding and beloved member of our fandom could use a little bit of help.

What’s Happening?

Zelha is Venezuelan and is struggling to make ends meet during the extended political and economic crisis happening there. She has done her best to hang on and support her ailing mother, but the situation is becoming increasingly critical and she recently reached out to Caitiy and I for help. Zel works full time, but the massive hyperinflation crisis in Venezuela makes her salary nearly worthless. Electric and internet outages make it nearly impossible to pursue other forms of income online, and she can’t leave the country because her mother needs an important medical procedure to be fit to travel. She is treading water and needs someone to throw her a life vest. That’s where we can help.

What will the money go towards?

Zel has identified her most urgent needs as food, medicine and hygiene products- all of which are unbelievably expensive due to massive inflation and only available on the black market for US dollars. She also needs to pay for medicine and medical treatments that her mother needs to be well enough to travel and leave the country if they need to.

What Can You Do?

If you have some expendable income, consider donating to the gofundme that Caitiy and I set up. 100% of the funds will be sent to Zel. $10, $5 or even $1 will go a long way to help Zel find some food security for her and her family

1. I turned 25! 🎂 I don’t usually celebrate birthdays, but I had a very successful quarter-life crisis this year. Which leads to...

2. I adopted a new dog! My late pups passed in 2015 and 2018, and this year, since my mom didn’t get me a birthday present, she said I could get a new one! (Let me be clear: the dog was not her gift. Her permission was 😂😂) She named her Katara before I even signed the papers.

3. I started therapy! Honestly, everyone could benefit from a therapist, but I know I’ve needed one for a long time. Katara ended up giving me a lot of anxiety in the beginning of our relationship, and it gave me the push I needed to finally seek help. The road was bumpy, but I am so grateful for it.

4. My job. It’s not glamourous and hell, it’s not even fun most of the time. But while so many others have lost their jobs or had their hours cut due to COVID, I am extremely grateful to have been able to transition to a WFH setting and not have to worry about my next paycheck.

5. Fandom friends. I seriously don’t know where I’d be without my fandom friends. Y’all have inspired me, uplifted me, grounded me for many years, but y’all shone last year. Some very special shoutouts to @mummapaintstheblues, @mrssakurahatake, @tipsyraconteur, and @the-real-kakashisgf for being the most solid foundation in this chaotic time. It was also so so fun joining into the ItaSaku and KakaSaku Haven Discord groups... and fandom Twitter! I’ve met many other wonderful people that I can’t wait to know more into the new year.

6. My friends. I live about 500 miles away from my main friend group. After not seeing them for more than a year, we had opportunities to connect and share space again. I’m grateful that we have all been able to stay safe and healthy through this ordeal.

(This is where I had to stop and pause and think real hard...)

7. Music. I was lucky enough to be able to attend some festivals and concerts this year while COVID numbers were lower after having been postponed for all of 2020. I got to see some of my favorite artists (Zedd, Gryffin, Dabin, William Black, and ARMNHMR to name a few) live and I had never felt more myself than I did in those moments. 

8. Video streaming. Y’all. I have binged SO. MUCH. TV. these past year. It’s kind of insane, but shoutout to video streaming services for keeping me company.

9. My health. It’s definitely a luxury these days and it would be foolish of me to ignore that.

10. Kakashi Hatake. Shoutout to the mans for giving me a serotonin boost every time I think about him.

October 2019 - Black Dagger Brotherhood - Wrath/Beth

I just realized I never finished this one... and it was for the Zelha GoFundMe fundraiser years ago... f*   *smashing head against wall*

"... Dancing?"

Wrath lifted his head as he listened to Beth and Rhage talk over the supper table.

Fritz had outdone himself—again—and prepared some of their favourites. Several members of the Brotherhood joined Wrath and Beth that evening as the sun disappeared below the horizon, behind the blackout curtains that hung thickly at the windows.

"No, I suppose I haven't been out dancing since my undergrad days," admitted Beth.

"Then you should join us," said Rhage.

Beth quirked a brow, glancing at Vishous and Zsadist. "You go dancing?"

"Hollywood goes dancing," said Vishous with a light shrug.

"Then finishes up in the alley behind it," added Zsadist.

There was a moment of awkward silence that followed as Zsadist's meaning sunk in.

Vishous cleared his throat as Wrath continued eating his steak, ignoring the banter.

Rhage, however, was undeterred. He turned his inhumanly beautiful face to Beth, winked, and added, completely innocent, "I can be a very persuasive... dancer."

Beth couldn't help the grin that kicked up a corner of her mouth. "I can believe that."

"So you'll go?"

Laughing, Beth leaned back in her chair and threw her hands up. "Fine! I'll go! Wrath, do you want to—" 

"I'm going."

"Then we're settled!"

Rhage grinned at the group.

"I call dibs on planning Wrath's outfit."

"His leathers are just fine," said Beth, reaching beside her to squeeze Wrath's thigh. "Though, if you plan on dancing, perhaps something looser or lighter? Do you still have that suit I liked you in?"

"Perhaps."

"I really liked that one."

As Wrath made no effort to hide it, the group immediately sensed his rise to attention and investment in Beth's happiness for the evening.

Yes, Beth would have an absolutely lovely evening or there would be Hell to pay.

It was past ten when they arrived at Screamer's in downtown Caldwell that night. The bouncer immediately escorted them past the line of patrons waiting to get in and into the club. It wasn't a luxurious club by any means, but there were perks to it; mostly that their motley group was recognized on sight as elite and treated as such from the moment their expensively heeled shoes hit the pavement outside.

To the group's surprise, Zsadist and Phury had joined them last-minute and were keeping Beth company while Wrath, Vishous and Rhage conversed beside the SUV. "Keep things civil for at least two hours," Wrath had breathed to Vishous and Rhage as Beth adjusted her cocktail dress a short distance away, "or I will be upset."

No one wanted Wrath upset, least of all his most loyal subjects and, dare they suggest it, friends. "And Rhage?"

"Yes?"

"Your clothes will remain on your person for the entire two hours," advised Wrath.

Rhage laughed.

"All of them."

Rhage's laugh died off and he glanced at Vishous who ignored him as he was not going to argue with their King, at all, on this.

"I don't care how much you oiled your tits tonight Hollywood, I don't want to see them," said Vishous, unimpressed.

Rhage shrugged. "Plenty of other people are happy to."

The breadth of Wrath's shoulders widened and Rhage smirked. "Some other time," he added.

Wrath's exhale was audible as they entered the nightclub and were directed to the best table in the house.
