I found a fanart of Alastor being kidnapped by Striker, like Stolas in the episode "Western Energy" and I thought it would be a very good idea to develop.

Alastor is seriously injured by Adam's angelic powers and based on what he himself said in his musical breakdown at the end of the season, his powers seem to be restricted by his contract. The power scaling for Overlords is seemingly connected to how many souls they own and he hasn't taken an souls since his return, so it would be fair to assume that he is getting weaker. He's not the same Radio Demon from seven years ago. He would be an easy target, especially for a hitman who holds a deep hatred of powerful hellish entities such as Overlords and nobility of Hell.

Now, who would want to hire Striker for that? The Vees maybe? They are the only ones who could easily guess about Alastor's true state bc they saw the fight like it was a sports game. And it wouldn't be the first time they sent someone else to do the dirty work either, Sir Pentious is a good example of that.

If we combine this with Radioapple it would be even funnier bc Lucifer would fly out of the hotel in his seraph form to save his queerplatonic partner saying something like "nobody fucks that deer but me"

that is something stryker would say. i have a feeling that blitzo is letting his insecurities spill out in that scene at the worst possible moment, which is bad timing, because stolas is a bird in a guilded cage. he has to participate in that society as much as everyone else does, and blitzo throwing the weight of classism on him during a fucking breakup is so demonstrously bad that i think this is going to be fucking incredible

I don't like hazbin hotel (shocker)

A lot of the problems come down to three things: 1. Viv's issue with being unable to let a concept go, 2. Her inability to maintain a consistent tone, and 3. The fact that it only has eight episodes. Look at helluva boss for example. So many villains get cliffhangers that say "oooOoOoOo I'm gonna reappear in another episode, just you wait!!" And they either just don't or the execution is completely flubbed stryker-style. And what is the show supposed to be? Is it a slice of life comedy about imps killing people on the surface? That concept was basically abandoned like five episodes in. A serialized drama about a complex relationship? Nope! the exploration of Blitz and Stolas's toxic relationship is returned to status quo for gag comedy. OOP! We've got two new characters to center the episodes around while abandoning the core cast!

Now look at Hazbin. I really liked the pilots concept! The idea of sinners being redeemed was interesting, the animation was nice, the characters were compelling, and I was really interested to see how they would develop over time and become better people! Then episode one of the new season comes out. Suddenly its about how heaven sucks actually (Off topic but can we talk about how in the opening exposition, Charlie talks about how angels kill demons to keep them from rising against them, and then in the meeting with Adam talks about overpopulation? What's up with that?) and quickly turns into a war against heaven plot.

You know the main concept of the show? Redemption of sinners? Yeah. I can count how many episodes are about that on a couple fingers. And count how many characters are actually there for redemption on two. And there are so many side characters they like to focus on rather than, I don't know, Focus on Charlie?

Thats another problem! Charlie barely has a focus. You'd think, as the main character, she'd get some sort of development, or some kind of arc, or at least more of a personality than "sunshine princess with big dreams". I don't use this word very often or very lightly, but shes very much mary-sue ish. Her obvious issues (IE seemingly weirdly fundamentalist christian ideas on redemption, constant overstepping of boundaries, the fact that she barely seems to put anything into her relationship with Vaggie while Vaggie falls over herself to make sure Charlie's happy, Very visible savior complex) are never discussed or adressed, and the fact that her hotel is based on an idea that doesn't have any evidence of actually even being possible is only ever addressed by antagonists who are supposed to be in the wrong. She doesn't change, she doesn't do much, but still manages to get everyone to sacrifice themselves for a hotel they're supposed to be super attached to. But we're never shown WHY they care.

And don't get me started on the side characters. The V's are only important in 1-2 episodes and never again, Carmilla exists as a plot device, Lucifer's... Lucifer, Adam is a one-note sexist strawman, and they just... Keep introducing characters. Pentious, Cherry, Mimsy, Cannibal town! You care about these characters! You must you must you must!!!! What do you mean you don't know who these characters are? Of course you do! They were in the plot important pilot that you have to get on youtube to watch!

These characters could have been explored so much better if there was more time in the show. Yes, thats the fault of Amazon, but when you're working with constraints, you need to learn how to work within these constraints. Keeping the "Heaven bad, hell good" thing for the second season while leaving the first season to focus on character development would have made the final battle so much more impactful. It's like an anti steven universe. People complain about how much filler steven universe has, but without that "filler" we wouldn't care about the characters as much as we do. Hazbin hotel, on the other hand, is like watching all the "intense, plot important" episodes without any context of who these characters are and why we should care about them.

At some point, when you're working in the industry, you need to learn that you need to trim the fat. Get rid of certain characters and plot points. Kill some characters off if you need. Wait to introduce a concept. If you can only work with a short amount of episodes, focus on making a good story with well developed characters first and a grand finale later. If you can wait, Wait. If you can't, don't. I know there's a second season but I genuinely don't know how it can go from here. Adam's dead, a sinner is redeemed, the hotel was rebuilt bigger and better than ever... what now?

TL;DR Hazbin Hotel reminds me of me and my friends old edgy gods and goddesses discord roleplay from when I was 13 than an actual planned story.

Sorry for the essay. Its honestly painful seeing something I looked forward too for years flop so hard on the execution. I love the concept, the songs, the animation is.... okay, Angel dust is best boy, but everything else is just eh. Mid. It tries to be so grandiose but I just felt bored and very confused throughout the whole thing, and very uncomfortable during episode 4. Its not offensively bad (hell, its barely even as offensive as people say it is) But its just. Not good in my opinion.

Hi this is still annoying me how Helluva picks up new villains and tosses them away like they’re nothing

Murder Family - Had a chance of returning as sinners that wanted revenge against IMP for killing them.

Robo Fizz - While a good set up for the real Fizz, could have played with Robo Fizzes being everywhere and Blitzø having to deal with a constant reminder of Fizz.

Verosika - She’s returned a couple times but really has been mostly just Blitzø’s ex. Idk, she serves her purpose I guess.

CHERUB - Where are they? What happened to them? What are they up to? What is going on? Wouldn’t IMP showing up on Earth again set off alarms for them to try and get revenge?

Stryker - He’s returned the most I would say. Not a huge issue so far, he works as is.

DORKS - Where are they? What happened to them? What are they up to? What is going on? Wouldn’t IMP showing up on Earth again set off alarms and they would try to capture or kill IMP?

Ozzie - He’s alright and serves his purpose. Not much to say here.

Chaz - Dead. Lol.

Moxxie’s Dad - Hoping to see more of him and the crime organization making it harder for IMP to operate…I am doubting that is gonna happen

Andrealphus - Can’t really get a read on him yet but he adds onto the issues of…

Stella - Oh you sweet summer child how all of your character nuance was stripped away from you to make you a dumb selfish murder happy character to increase sympathy for Stolas

Sometimes I really can't get past the "Rich people good. Poor people just don't get it." Undertones of Helluva. Never was this more apparent when Stryker was called a supremacist for his pretty reasonable outlook on the class system. Hell, Verosika, one of the ONLY female characters with an iota of depth (being that it seems she was abused by Blitz) is a rich popstar. Something in me can't help but feel Vivzie is projecting way too much into the show given her place of privilege.

Oh, it reeks of Vivzie's extremely privileged life. Helluva's been a slow, horrifying slide from "Fuck the rich" to "rich people have problems too" to "Actually it's poor people who are the problem."

Fun headcanon / concept to play with:

Stryker (Helluva Boss) uses the divine rope and blessing-tipped weapons to capture both Alastor and Vox, having been contracted by an upcoming OVerlord who felt that this would even their odds to kill them.

Whilst trapped together, they bicker.

Not to mention, drive Stryker half-mad with their jabs at him.

The rope keeps them trapped, it would hold down a Goetia... but maybe not a sin. But it doesn't really sink in that they're in danger until they piss the assassin off enough that he starts to use angelic steel against them

And that's... when their so-called sundered bond is called into question. One yells in outrage as the other shouts in pain, threatening and growling, desperate to transform despite the bindings that holdfast their forms and powers. Then the other takes their turn.

Still, an overlord who relied only on power is a dead overlord.

They finally create enough space to get possession of the dagger and snap the ropes. Deciding how best to tear the little hellborn apart in rage, as their forms swell.

Stryker has a contingency, and fires upon them with his sharpshooter focus, filling the pair with angelic bullets at key junctures to weaken them. Snarling and vowing that he WILL kill them next time.

And that's about when at least one of the other Hazbin team kicks open a wall, shadowed by unlikely allies as Vel and Val descend on the imp. Blocking his escape.

Charlie and Vaggie move to the overlords, trying to convince them to shrink as her 'I was conned into coming by those big sad baby eyes' father strides in behind Angel and Husk.

"Just the one little imp? Really? Two overlords defeated by an imp with-... hang on, where'd you get that rope from?" Lucifer panicks, mentally trying to recall if he and Lillith locked their Fun Time Box before she left... how else could such a thing exist in Hell?

Hah, the deer was going to freak if he found out they'd been trapped and nearly killed thanks to the contents of Hell's oldest Pleasure Chest...

Charlie manages to get the overlords to shrink before they collapse in a pool of blood and bulletwounds. Healing trying to help but the angelic steel was simply far too persistent in trying to keep the wound open, infecting it.

Husk and Angel Dust have to dig the metal nuggets out before they can be healed properly by a reluctant Lucifer.

Hi! I'm a fanfiction author that has just start to use Tumblr to sponsor his work. This is the first chapter of my current on-going Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fanfiction "If Hell is forever than Heaven must be a lie", personally one of my best work. The publication takes place at 6:00 pm (New York City local time), one chapter a day, and is currently close to the conclusion of the first arc. Here is the description:

A week has passed since the angels were forced to retreat and the Extermination was cancelled; the Hazbin Hotel has been rebuilt, peace reigns again, and although the demons still seem reluctant to embark on the path of redemption Charlie is optimistic about the future. That is, at least until an unexpected guest shows up at her door asking for help, revealing the first of a long series of secrets that Heaven and Hell have kept for centuries. With the discovery that redemption is possible, the return of an enemy who was thought to be defeated, the emergence of new threats, Hell which increasingly descends into chaos where the most evil are the masters, and more and more hidden truths that come to light, what will happen to the Hazbin Hotel? Will Charlie and her friends be able to at least save themselves, or will they be consumed by the anarchy into which the entire cosmos is slowly sinking?

We can all see that with each new episode of Helluva Boss the crew are making more and more enemies who are beginning to team up together (Stryker, Stella, Crimson, Mammon, humans) so you KNOW there's gonna be a big war coming soon...

But I lowkey wanna see one of Blitz's enemies come after him in the form of attacking Loona. Hurt him by hurting the thing he cares about most. And then see his reaction. God it'd be painful but so so good, I want it so badly...

I'm not so sure about that. Wasn't one of the main reasons for having two shows set in the same universe supposed to be so each show could explore different parts of hell? Like, Helluva Boss is meant to explore the other six rings while Hazbin Hotel is meant to focus on the Pride Ring?

Yes, the main characters of HB all live/do business in Pride, but it's rare that we see any Pride Ring locations in Helluva Boss outside of the I.M.P office and Stolas' palace.

Sure, we've gotten brief glimpses of other places,

-Blitzø and Loona's apartment

-The M&M's apartment

-The fancy cafe, the abandoned mine, and Andrealphus' palace in Western Energy

-And the various locations Millie and Sallie May visited in the Hell's Belles short

But aside from the main characters' apartments (which are most likely in Imp City) it's very nebulous WHERE in the Pride Ring the other locations are. We can't even be certain where in Pride STOLAS lives. Helluva Boss isn't meant to explore the Pride Ring, that's supposed to be Hazbin Hotel's job. The other circles just haven't been as relevant to HB's plot as the other Rings have been.

Unfortunately, Hazbin Hotel also hasn't gotten to really explore the circles due to season one only getting eight episodes. There was no time to for any in depth world building that wasn't vital for telling the main story HH wanted to tell. It seems to be the same for even small background Easter eggs. All visual Easter eggs being reserved for either giving clues about Hazbin character lore or vaguely referencing the other Rings/Sins in ways that won't break copyright.

That's something else you have to take into consideration. Copyright.

I think it's safe to say that there will never be a Helluva Boss episode where the I.M.P. gang visit the Hazbin hotel. And I doubt we're ever going to see Charlie and Vaggie go on a date to the Lust Ring. Any location featured in detail in one show is automatically off the table for the other.

Since the I.M.P. gang and Hazbin crew all live in Pride, the Spindlehorse crew would have to be careful deciding which show gets to focus on which Circle. If an episode of Hazbin Hotel takes place primarily in, say, the Third Circle, that would eliminate any opportunity for Helluva Boss to have an episode that also visits the Third Circle, wouldn't it?

Yeah, I know the copyright thing will get in the way of what can and can be put in Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, but there have been instances where the same thing/characters have shown up, like Katie Killjoy, who shows up in Hazbin Hotel and a billboard in Helluva Boss. I don't know if that just slipped under the copywrites nose, but it's there LOL

But to refute the concept of I.M.P being in Imp City, and Imp City being a circle outside of the Pride Ring, a comment on one of my previous asks (thank you @tomboy014) brought up the fact that I.M.P has to be in the Pride Ring because their job is reliant on Sinners. They're whole marketing scheme is killing people on Earth that Sinners still have beef with. Furthermore, we've seen clients in their office building, like Martha Mayberry and Loopty.

I.M.P (and thus Imp City, where I.M.P is canonically set in) HAS to be set up in Pentagram City for Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona to even get clients, which then implies that the 2nd Circle is there too.

Additionally, we see that Pentagram City is boxed in by mountains, and when Stryker kidnapped Stolas, we saw those very same mountains. So either they were in Pentagram City, or every other Circle is also surrounded by mountains (perhaps as a means of keeping them separated if that is the case).

If we look at Andre's castle, that theory could hold up, unless his castle is merely set up somewhere within the mountain ranges surrounding Pentagram City.

I mean, the area around the castles does look barren as fuck. There are no other buildings, no people outside of Andre and Stella (not even any servants while they're having tea), and no hint of life whatsoever. It could be that since snow is just a drastic change from Hell's normally blistering hot temperature (or, at least, the Pride Rings hot temperature), he had to distance his castle from everyone else, which could explain why it looks so isolated and empty.

But even disregarding all of that, there are more ways to world-build outside of the characters explicitly going somewhere or saying something. Like the sign for Imp City telling us it's in Circle 2, no one outright said that, it's just a background detail that was there and then gone. There are plenty of opportunities to show us more about the world, and the 9 Circles, even if its something as simple as a poster on the wall.

I also disagree that it's Hazbin Hotel's job to be the one to explore the Pride Ring, but that's only in the case that the 9 Circles actually exist. I can't see the Circles coming up as often, considering most of the characters we meet are Sinners and they aren't allowed outside of Pentagram City, thus there's no reason for it to come up as its not even an option they can explore.

(I know the rule is that Sinners can't leave the Pride Ring, but if the other Circles do exist, and are part of the Pride Ring - and thus places the Sinners are allowed to go - there's no reason they couldn't have explored the other Circles while we were in Hazbin Hotel, even a little. Even if it was a passing glance. A split second blink and you'll miss it moment.)

Charlie and Lucifer would be the perfect characters to explore it for us, but they never do. Our first introduction to Lucifer would've been a fantastic place to sneak in the information that Lucifer lives in one of the other Circles, not Pentagram City. It could've been something as simple as a passing comment or a note on his desk.

But that never happened.

Helluva Boss, however, is the perfect place to explore the 9 Circles especially because their main base of operation is in the Pride Ring. Not only that, but they're the ones who have the freedom to move around and travel to different areas of Hell. They are the audiences' ticket to seeing more of the world, which has worked, because they're the reason we've seen more of the Rings at all. Blitz and Co are the perfect choice to explore the Circles, especially if they've already visited the other Circles.

But they never expand on it which leads me to doubt that the Pride Ring is made up of all 9 Circles, otherwise, why not expand on or allude to it???
