I'm sorry, but I just love this little moment between Loona and Blitzo.
It's just that moments like these are sadly few and far between in this show, and I do hope we get more scenes where Loona doesn't act cold towards Blitzo.

Wow...Blitz...wow.
Let's go yall. Another scene analysis.
So it's clear Stolas and Blitz have been having sex for some time. He knows those feathers but...they're not in the kinda rough condition he's use to putting Stolas through.
We can see from his trip in Truth Tellers that he put Stolas on a pedestal. So to see those familiar feathers in that condition?
Tumblr media
Absolute denial. Stolas can't be in that condition. He's fancy and rich. No, he's seeing things from the beat down from Loona.
Tumblr media
But then Millie comes in.
"Stolas got hurt bad"
She even places a hand on his arm to comfort him. Because while Blitz denies his feelings, she knows better. She knows love and knows Blitz does care about Stolas.
He shocked and angry, confused too.
Tumblr media
"Stolas got what?!"
Tumblr media
And when he looks up, he realizes those tattered dirty feathers are in fact Stolas's. The person on that gurney who he though so high and untouchable, who he himself could never dirty...wasn't who he thought he was, who he made him out to be.
Tumblr media
He makes a choked noise of confusion. He still cant accept it. He can phantom it.
"How?" Comes out as a croak. It seems too impossible to Blitz.
Tumblr media
His breath is now soft, a whisper, as if he says it too loud it would be like unleashing a secret to the universe, despite it taking place in front of him. Everyone knows but he still cant accept it.
Tumblr media
"He can get..."
'Yes, even he can...with all his riches and powers, Stolas can be injured.'
And then the final word is crisp and clear and tumbles from his mouth with the last of his air as reality hits him, pure shock and fear on his face.
"hurt?"
Tumblr media
And it hits him.
If Stolas can get hurt, Stolas can die. And he could lose him. He could lose someone he won't admit he loves.
He had heard the call, he knew how dangerous Striker was. And now...
His vision will come true.
"You're going to die alone."
Tumblr media
And now Blitz is faced with this new truth that he can lose Stolas without them ever making thier feelings clear.
Should he cut it off so he isn't hurt?
Should he cling and enjoy every second of sadly, the healthiest partnership he had? Is he guilty he didn't go? Is he ashamed or scared of seeing Stolas again?
But most importantly, what are these confusing feelings and can he figure them out?

Only one person has the power to make Stolas cry
And I'll keep the intrigue just a little bit longer so you can try to guess for yourself and experience the kind of satisfaction I had once I pieced it all together. And, oh boy, did it click!
Okay, so today, after a rather passionate conversation with @tealvenetianmask about how fandom seems to perceive Stolas as overly emotional and soft demon, we started rummaging through all the scenes where Stolas actually cried. We were blown off by some revelations.
First note: it's actually not much. Our owl appears to be very sturdy and often bites back when attacked, rather than shutting down as one might expect.
Second note... Better let me show you. Let's walk through all the 'Stolas cries' scenes and see what is happening there, and answer the question, "What, or rather who, sets him off the rails?"
This is your last chance to place your bets and educated guesses. Because below are big clues, and, eventually, answer.
Circus
Tumblr media
We follow up on Stolas shortly after the disastrous date at Ozzie's - arguably, a couple of hours later. He looks absolutely miserable. He has boozed himself to unconsciousness. His eyeliner is ruined from earlier tears. He groans, either from headache or emotional turmoil, grabs three Happy pills, and shoves them down his throat.
Whatever happened at this club ruined our bird, to the point he's looking for anything to avoid being alone with his thoughts.
Western Energy
Tumblr media
One shed tear. That's all Stolas allows himself. That's what I am talking about when I claim he is actually very tough. He is being tortured, mutilated, and by this point, he has a pretty good understanding that his demise is likely inevitable.
And you know what he does in response? He talks back. He cuts through Striker's bullshit about royals taking everything from him and points out that his killer took a contract from a royal. He literally humiliates Striker with sex jokes and mocks his oversized dick on the statue ego. Figuratively, he spits death in its face.
The Full Moon
Tumblr media
Stolas is destroyed.
This meeting was nerve-wracking even before it happened - all the preparation, insecurities, misunderstandings of the past, and lingering, terrifying questions (He loves me? He loves me not?).
It takes weeks to set everything in motion. He planned it meticulously. He scripted every word, every movement of his body, every subtle tone in his voice.
But he forgot that there was another party in this play. The party who was not given the script and is burdened with his own trauma. One shitty assumption, one poorly-thought-out action, and here it is - mockery, avoidance, a fight... and tears. His first meltdown he wasn't able to conceal.
His worst nighmares came true, or so he convinced himself. He loves me not.
Apology Tour
Tumblr media
Our last stop on our 'we-love-being-tortured-by-crying-Stolas' tour is here.
The wound is still fresh, bleeding even, and here he comes, rubbing salt into it. Someone Stolas still desperately wants. Someone who was infinitely brash, rude, and aggressive just this morning. Someone who doubled down on statements that made Stolas believe this particular someone hates him.
That someone tries to talk. To explain. To apologize. Wonders how Stolas could actually care about him. Says the prince is better off without him.
Fuck... The prince came here to forget, to wipe that someone (okay, it's getting increasingly hard to pretend it's not obvious yet) from his memory, at least for the night, and he still won't let Stolas go.
He breaks into tears, crushed, reassured he can't have anyone who would hold him, who would say he is the only one, but recuperates shortly after - he was taught better than this.
Okay, are we ready for the shocker of the year?
It's Blitzø.
It was his date with Blitzø at Ozzie's, where he was ignored, humiliated, and was told that their relatioship was only about sex, and that he was the one who made it clear.
It was Blitzø turning down (or so he thought) his distress call, leading him to believe he was left alone to die.
It was Blitzø mocking his confession and assuming it was just a fucking roleplay.
Finally, it was Blitzø haunting him since that very morning and, albeit with better intentions, still hurting him beyond his abilities to recover.
The only person who tore his soul apart enough to break his inpenetrable mask - built up by decades of gritted teeth, restraint, and bravery - was the one he probably cares about the most.
It was not Octavia, whom he holds close to his heart but couldn’t allow to see him depressed. He had to be strong for her; he needed to raise and support her.
It was not Stella, whom he endured for years, yet did not satisfy her wish to see him whimper. He talked back, argued, ignored, and seethed. But he never gave in.
It was him. An imp who stole his grimoire and gave him the best time of his life, however sad that may sound.
Now, thanks for joining this drama in four acts. You may pull out your handkerchiefs and ugly cry right here, in your places. Don't hold it in.
Because I don't.

Listen. I think Stolas's quips to Striker in "Western Energy" are extremely funny. But I also think they show an incredible force of will on his part. It's not that he's NOT afraid or in pain- the minute Striker turns his back his mask slips. He's been kidnapped, stabbed repeatedly with the only type of weapon that could actually kill him, and is at the mercy of an assassin who hates him and who's working for someone who absolutely despises him. No one knows where he is, and there's a very real chance he'll never see his loved ones again. But he refuses to give Striker the satisfaction of watching him hurt.
That being said, I love the fact that Stolas doesn't even say he's getting off on being in pain. He says he USUALLY gets off on being in pain, but Striker is so damn bad at it compared to Blitz that it's not even doing anything for him

Another episode of Helluva Boss and, quite predictably, another round of haters coming out of the woodwork to talk about how terrible the last episode was, how bad the writing on the show is, how much they hate the decisions all of the characters make, etc. and once again, I’m just left looking at those people and wondering…
Why are you here?
You don’t seem to be having fun. You know you don’t have to watch the show, right? No one is forcing you. Wait… unless someone IS forcing you. Is someone forcing you? Do you need help? Blink twice if you need help.
But if you’re here of your own volition, then just… why? I understand genuine criticism, but at this point we have gone way beyond that. Everything in the show is being criticized now. Even stiff that’s the exact opposite of what was criticized in the last episode.
There will be an episode where Blitz and Stolas don’t focus entirely on their daughters and it’s taken as a sign of them being bad fathers, yet in this episode they both agree that taking Loona to the doctor is very important and somehow that’s unacceptable as well because it shows they don’t really care about each other. There’s not a single plot point that haters won’t jump on as being a bad decision, even if it’s something that they asked for in a previous episode.
It’s just annoying as hell, so at this point I think I’m done engaging with those posts. Just gonna block those folks left and right so I can have an enjoyable dashboard and if anyone is looking for a positive fandom space for HB, you are welcome to join me here.

I have few complaints about the Helluva Boss episode and was disappointed to see how many other had, especially at such fundamental structures of the show. The big complaint I want to discuss is the idea that the B Plot was pointless or boring, because I think the B Plot was not only an understandable screen time padder but also effectively set up to make the A Plot stronger. A lot of times when shows follow an A/B Plot structure one is more important than the other and the push and pull to balance the weight of each episode. Aka your supposed to be a lil bored at one of them but it makes you wait to build tension. This is really common and when one A Plot is extra important or heavy, normally the B Plot will take a bigger backseat and be something more lighthearted. Not only did Blitz in the hospital provide some levity from striker, but it was actually important we had a good reason WHY blitz wasn't there. We as an audience needed to believe this was an important situation to him and while we can laugh about slow Healthcare jokes or an assassin being scared of a shot, from his perspective he was been waiting years for this, he is watching his daughter be scared and in pain and fight him against something she needs to be healthy and to him, these stakes are real. If there was going to be anything keeping blitz from rescuing stolas, prioritizing his daughter is about the best possible reason i could ask for. And then we get the reaction as stolas gets to the hospital, the helpless, i wasnt there, i never thought it could go this badly reaction. And the lesson for him rather than "I wasn't good enough to save him" if he went and stolas was always going to be hurt, was instead "I didn't give him my time when he needed it and now hes hurt" and isn't that the whole nature of the conflict, blitz not seriously considering stolas feelings or situations and not giving time and emotional depth to them? We even see that immedietly supported in the texts, he gives very short responses, no time or emotion for much more. I thought the a/B Plot structure was perfect in that sense.

I know he's a bit of a tool, but come on, anyone who insults Stella to her face deserves at least some appreciation/respect.
P.S. Also, I can't get enough of his sexy-ass voice.

Alright I don't generally wrote my own posts, I usually only reblog, but no-one seems to be seeing this the way I do?
We're so used to Stolas being a thirsty bitch that when he says this^^ he comes off as being flippant, and when I first watched it I thought he was gonna say something like "am I attracted to this?" But I've rewatched it a few times and I've changed my mind.
Stolas doesn't even seem to realise his own danger until this moment. I don't think he'd honestly considered Stella would actually order a hit man to kill him. "This is worrisome." was what he said when he got caught in the holy rope. He didn't seem to feel any danger at that moment, and it felt to me like the moments where he was being manhandled at LooLoo Land. Even when he first calls Blitzø, he says "I think you should come and rescue me," in much the same way he did multiple times in that episode.
Tumblr media
I know we are all heartbroken by this moment but I think NEITHER of them realised there was actual mortal danger during that phone call. I think that it's really reshaped things for Blitzø for sure. I also think Stolas had no idea he was in so much trouble.
Let me know if you agree! Also if you hate the show great, good for you, some of us enjoyed it. Haters DNI. Please.

i'm sorry but stolas bound and powerless and tortured to tears still pushing himself off the ground snarling threats at the man who would dare even mention his daughter. the breathless all-consuming fury that striker would dare to speak a word about her. stolas knows striker is going to kill him and could make it painful beyond imagination and the only thing he cares about in this moment is octavia's safety why the fuck aren't we talking about this scene more

The determination in Stolas' face! He really believed that Blitzø would come for him. Even though M&M did come on his behalf, in the end Striker was right.
Blitzø didn't come for him.
