sonic is hard of hearing?

I feel like due to random weird biology and physics stuff, Sonic would probably be hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. They would probably be lightning-bolt-shaped or some really cool design.

He never had hearing aids before, hence why he barely replied to Amy when she yaps about whatever (Amy is such a queen, I feel a bit sad that they portrayed her like that in Sonic X) but eventually Tails found it too much of a problem and made hearing aids for Sonic. He doesn't bother to tell anybody about it though so they think it's a decorative accessory.

Forever Only

Jung Jaehyun x Male Reader (pt. 1)

It had been a few weeks since you started frequenting the jazz bar. Initially only going once a week, arriving at the same time so you could watch Jaehyun perform his set and have a drink with him after. It progressed into twice a week, accompanying him to other performances just to sit in silence and exchange opinions outside. Sharing a cigarette as the two of you leaned against the dark red brick that made up the exterior.

It’s one of those nights. Where the sky is clear and you could count the stars in the sky with your naked eye. The moon is small, barely beginning a new cycle for the start of the month. You turn your attention towards Jaehyun again, a little starstruck as you catch him staring right at you. The orange lighting brings out the color of his eyes tremendously, the whiskey brown making you warm under his gaze. His lip curls up as he takes a drag from his cigarette, exhaling the smoke away from you as he holds it out towards you with two fingers.

You take it from him, still not used to the way the smell burns your nose—or the way the taste sticks to the roof of your mouth no matter what you drink.

“It’s okay if you don’t like it. Smoking doesn’t have to become our thing.” His tone is dry—but you knew he was just saying so to tease you, the wrinkles next to his nose bridge saying what he couldn’t. “What did you think of the these new acts, (Y/n)?”

You shiver at the sound of your own name—something only Jaehyun could do. He says your name like no other does, like he’s the only one that’s meant to have it roll off the tip of his tongue. You toss the end of the cigarette on the concrete, smashing it with your (f/c) shoe to make sure the light went out. “They’re good, Jae, they’re just never as good as you.”

He lets out a chesty laugh, inching closer to you as people rush outside, not sparing a second look at you two.

It all happens too fast. One moment the two of you were standing side by side and the next Jaehyun has both of his hands pinned to the sides of your head—cursing under his breath as he looks around for who shoved him. He has no idea of your quickening heart rate or dry lips. You are eye level with his face, looking up at him through your eyelashes, too stiff to lift your head up so you could be level with him.

“S-sorry, (Y/n). These idiots suddenly display no manners. I didn’t mean to….” You are centimeters away when he finally turns around, his heart shaped lips barely missing the tip of your nose when he looks down at you, a little dazed. His words trail off as he brings his eyes down to your lips. His eyes are hooded, mind focusing on one thing—and one thing only—your lips. You place your palms down on the red brick behind you, trying to keep your cool. There were no more people around the two of you, no more of the crowd to keep this pose justified between two friends. Jaehyun keeps looking from your eyes to your lips and up again.

“May I?” He only allows you to nod once, plump lips crashing into yours without hesitation. Jaehyun tilts his head to get a better angle, bringing the hands that were once on the side of your head into your hair. You keep yours on the brick, eyes still wide open as you watch his shut tight, concentrated but relaxed. His face is pure bliss.

You melt into the kiss, closing your eyes slowly as you bring your hands to feel all over his body. First the side of his torso—then his chest—finally settling to the back of his neck where you play with the longer pieces of hair back there. There is nothing more right than this.
