hello vampire sickos, particularly dracula sickos, let's talk about medieval manuscripts. I'm not sure how familiar bram stoker would have been with late gothic religious movements and popular worship, but in the latter portion of the middle ages there was a big, widely practiced, and officially ecclesiastically endorsed push for lay people and the clergy to form personal emotional connections with christ and the virgin by just getting like stupidly horny about them. you've got personal devotional texts with illustrations of a completely nude christ displaying his long willowy limbs and coquettishly asking a nun to penetrate his side wound with her huge fuck-off spear, you've got monks imagining sculptures of the crucifixion coming to life to make out with them and christ our lord liking it so much that he opens his mouth to add a little tongue action, it was a great time to be a freak.

So I’ve been doing a deep dive into different versions of Salieri and was wondering what was your opinion on them? Obviously the most popular (cursed) version is the one from Amadeus and my favourite version, I’m sorry angsty dragon boi, is the version of Mozart l’Opera Rock. From what I remember, the only major thing with it in him is Classi9, which is adorable and so very strange. There’s other versions but most of them are gacha games with not a very strong plot. Also sweet wine is a thing :^

sweet wine is a thing but that doesnt mean its like, good (most of the time. ive had some good rose??? however “sweet” with wine exists to contradict with “dry” as a term of measuring the acidity of the wine so it tends to be rather relative-- meaning that wine labelled as sweet to someone with a sweet tooth who doesn’t normally drink wine does not actually process as ‘sweet’, just as ‘not chock ass full of tannin’. sweet wine is FALSE ADVERTISING and i have had SO MANY vineyards be like “here, try this its sweet youll like it” and was it sweet? no. i was lied to, and had to go “oh great” and carry on polite conversation like i was some kind of wine-liker

i have only seen chunks of Amadeus (however please look at this its a very good amadeus shitpost by one of my fav online writers) but i have watched the entirety of L’Opera Rock (le bien que fit mal is a good song dont judge me) and i find it EXTREMELY hilarious. i LOVE the salieri in there because he’s just so fucking funny. he’s just this totally inexplicable dude in the middle of everyone’s very pastel flouncy outfits lookin’ like pete wentz circa 2005 cosplaying a gay vampire, singing songs about murder while blindfolded shirtless men do backup like we’re not expected to take the song as “salieri unfortunately realizes he is gay and also into bdsm”

L’Opera Rock’s Salieri is so fucking funny. He keeps randomly materializing from the shadows as his character introduction??? He shows up at mozart’s death to sing a romantic dramatic duet with him while contsanze is sitting in the background like “uh... hello... thats my husband.. i was trying.... to have a moment.... with my husband....”. He’s got nail polish bc he’s true goth. He has a whole song dedicated to going “i have considered having one (1) moral” and an entire salon responding “don’t be a pussy, tony”

in conclusion: must a musical be “coherent” to be good? must it “be able to carry an emotional thread whatsoever”? is it not enough to portray salieri as a punk rock vampire going through a gay awakening? mozart l’opera rock is Extremely Funny

..... FGO Salieri is still my favourite Salieri because I love monster men and he’s on fire and a cool dragon and you just can’t beat that layered on top of canon gay yearning, yknow.
