Scout Saves the Show AU Characters
Part 1: Main Cast
I want to post this quickly so that you have an idea of what to expect in this story. For now, let's get to the main characters.
Mortimer Handee: The boss and leader of Mortimer's Handeemen. Mortimer Handee came from a wealthy family in the family construction business. However, after World War II, he became a world-famous magician. But after a series of unfortunate events with a boat, Mortimer quit. Then, one day, he started Mortimer's Handeemen out of the blue to help kids solve their problems and later got a deal with 123 Network for a kid's reality show. But one day, after being tired of being alone, Mortimer becomes a foster parent. He agrees to take in a troublesome, felt puppet, ten-year-old Scout Prime, aka the Rat Gremlin. Despite putting up a happy face whenever chaos ensues, many wonder what happened to Mortimer's original family that caused him to be like this in the first place? Can Mortimer create the found family he dreams of, or will Gremlin Scout throw a wrench in those plans?
Scout Prime: An orphaned young preteen, Scout Prime, is known as the Rat Gremlin in the foster care system and the local area. Although she's the prankster and troublemaker in town who doesn't believe in happy ever afters, she has a soft spot for watching Mortimer's Handeemen due to the chaos in each episode. After being taken away from another Foster Home that had terrible foster parents and then Scout causing some explosions at the orphanage, it seemed hope for Scout was lost. That was until the Social Workers got a call from Mortimer Handee that he wanted to become a foster parent. When Scout met Mortimer, who decided to take her in on the spot, she knew she was in the weirdest moment of her life. But the best moment of her life was when Scout found out she was on the show for the long run. Now, living the dream of being a part of the Handeemen's chaotic messes, she would do anything to fit in to be part of the craziness of the episodes. However, the other Handeemen are not happy with Scout's presence. Will Scout prove she's a team member and be herself, or will the other Handeemen find a way to kick her out?
Riley Ruckus: The unofficial second in command of the Handeemen, Riley Ruckus, a young woman scientist, was the fan-favorite looking for "More Data." Despite having a decently paying job at the Labs, it's not enough since she's a single dog mom to Rosco the Dog and responsible for almost all the explosions on campus she has to pay for. She immediately took Mortimer's offer to join the forming Handeemen in hopes it could get the higher-ups like her boss and leader of the school campus, President Blocks, to notice her work. Unfortunately, the job came with a rivalry with the Lord of the Stage, Nicolas "Nick" Nack. Although she was against the idea of a surprise TV show without the other Handeemen's knowledge on the first day of filming, she warmed up to it to get more attention for her work and from Mortimer like the golden child. That was until the Rat Gremlin came into the picture. With Riley being replaced by Mortimer's foster daughter, her jobs threatened after an incident, her mother, Virginia Ruckus, back in town, and the Love of her Life (platonically people), Rosco, falling in love with the neighbor's dog, can Riley handle the changes in her life, or slowly become the group's mad scientist?
Daisy Danger: The sweet mother-like figure and party planner of the group, Daisy Danger, has quite a temper when she enters Danger Mode. Out of the Handeemen, Daisy is the puppet who knows Mortimer the longest from the group. When she was the first to be approached by Mortimer, who wanted to create Mortimer's Handeemen, she was a freelance party planner tired of planning parties for just bridezillas. Helping kids with their events and parties was something she always wanted to do for a long time. The only things that bother her are hoping Mortimer isn't losing his sanity, especially since that horrible incident, and wishing Riley and Nick could get along just for five minutes. When the Film Crew appeared out of nowhere one day, despite her concern, she decided to take the middle ground in this situation and go with the flow. She was actually enjoying it, that was, until Mortimer became a foster parent of the town's troublemaker. With Scout Prime blowing up their lives, can Daisy pull herself together and not go Danger Mode on a child? Also, what's her history involving the Handee family, and what is she hiding?
Nick Nack: Nicolas "Nick" Nack, the Lord of the (struggling) Stage! Nick has returned to the States for a few years after attending the best art schools across the seas and living with family from his mother's side of the family. Unfortunately, they say you have to suffer in the arts, especially when you have to spend extra for your craft to put on shows and art galleries while working at the School's theatre department, which is also being disturbed by someone causing explosions at the campus labs, and needing to afford rent from his slimy landlord. To at least make ends meet, Nick got a second job through Mortimer's Handeemen as the artistic one in the group. The downside is Nick is constantly at odds with the puppet who causes those explosions, Riley Ruckus. When the Filming Crew appeared out of the blue for a TV show one day, Nick welcomed it with open arms. But now that's in question as his spotlight is also threatened by the new fan-favorite, Scout Prime. As Scout's chaos ensues, can Nick and Riley put aside their differences to team up against the little troublemaker, or will his past childhood trauma come back to haunt him?
Rosco the Dog: Riley Ruckus's golden retriever and unofficial mascot of the Handeemen. No matter where Riley Ruckus goes, Rosco is always by her side. Rosco has been loyal to his owner and dog mom since he was a little puppy. To afford the resources to take care of Rosco, Riley joined Mortimer's Handeemen. This was the greatest thing for Rosco as the kids the Handeemen help adore him. Even when the Filming Crew first arrived, he practically jumped on them in excitement despite the Filming Crew running and jumping around to stay away from a giant dog they just met. When Scout enters the picture, Rosco is happy he has another fetch buddy. The current issue is that after one of Season Two's episodes, he meets the neighbor's new dog, Missy, who he's got his heart set on. However, Riley, who saw him as the Love of her life (again, platonically people), is not on board with Rosco experiencing puppy love. Will Rosco get Riley to accept Missy, or will Riley's jealousy destroy their dog mom and puppet's best friend relationship?
Kathy October Socks: Mortimer's new grumpy, tired secretary and H&PR after the first episode's events. Kathy October Socks is desperate to take anything after leaving a toxic work environment, even if it's the chaotic Handeemen group to pay college bills. Though, at times, she wished she had run out the door with the other interviewees when she had the chance. Can Kathy get through this job before getting to some breaking point to spread true rumors about her coworkers as a form of revenge?
Owen Gubberson and Filming Crew: The Film Production Crew, led by Owen Gubberson, was going through rough times and at risk of bankruptcy before they took the offer to do a documentary reality kid's show about Mortimer's Handeemen of puppets helping kids solve their problems. Simple, right? It seemed like it until they realized they were also becoming stunt doubles in each mess they entered. After begging the network for better pay since they wanted money for possible emergency insurance that forced Owen slyly hints in the fireside chat episode to raise money, they got their needed pay raise after a compromise from the network. But that was all taken away when Mortimer used the funding to fix his mansion to foster the infamous Rat Gremlin. After surviving a chaotic Season One, does Owen and his expanded Filming Crew have the guts to survive Season Two?

Get Back Up Again — VoicePlay music video
youtube
Most people will never undertake an arduous journey to save an entire community. But whether the task is large or small, everyone needs a little pep talk now and then. VoicePlay took this energetic anthem of self-motivation, added some extra harmonies, and put their own entertaining spin on it. Give it a listen and let them lift your mood.
Details:
title: Get Back Up Again
original performer: Anna Kendrick as Princess Poppy in Trolls (2016)
written by: Benj Pasek & Justin Paul
arranged by: Layne Stein
release date: 10 May 2018
My favorite bits:
recreating the Dreamworks fanfare with their adorable animated avatars sitting on the VP logo, particularly the harmonized ♫ "Ta-da!" ♫
Earl's vulnerable tone on his opening lines
the peppy major harmonies for ♫ "It's gonna be a fantastic day." ♫
that quick little bell chord on ♫ "gonna sing" ♫
✨ glitter farts ✨ as part of the group percussion line
the back row's little plucked guitar line behind Geoff's lead
the exaggerated auto-tune on J.None's solo riff, in keeping with the movie character
those subtle bass slides Geoff does underneath
Eli's clear, cheerful tone for his lead section
Earl and J doing little shoulder bounces to go with their stacatto harmony line
♫ "I'm really really really gonna be OKAY!" ♫ "Heeey." ♫
Layne's deep ingressive "Yeah!" transitioning out of the bridge
Eli's nervous ♫ "The bergens are coming" ♫ counterpoint
the camera shake timed to Earl and Layne's ♫ "knock knock" ♫
"Hug time!" "Hug time!" "Hug time is my favorite!"
Earl's silly "Hello!" with the spider in the outro
that sneaky snippet of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" as a coda during the end screen
Trivia:
The guys' animated troll avatars were drawn by artist Leon King. Both the art and VoicePlay's wardrobe were inspired by the characters in the original movie.
The stuffed worm that Geoff holds is named Mr. Dinkles, and is the beloved pet of Biggie. On the few occasions in the Trolls movies when he says anything other than "mew", he speaks in a surprisingly bassy voice.
That final excerpt from "In the Hall of the Mountain King" (an orchestral piece about trolls from Norse mythology) was included in the movie as a repeated motif in "Hair Up". Layne eventually created a full a cappella version of "Mountain King" for VoicePlay four years later.
This video was filmed at Studio One in Orlando, a new location for the group.
In addition to her usual role as production manager, Kathy Castellucci is also credited as "puppet master", with assistance from Hayley Cohen, Rek Dunn, and Nick Perez. Those plush bugs don't fly on their own, after all.
The YouTube description goof for this video is a simple, "Shhhhh… Candace Bergens…"
Layne's rhythmic stomping and accompanying antics during on-set rehearsals made J.None crack up.
instagram
Layne posted a snippet of his editing process on Instagram while the guys were on the road as a teaser for the full video.
instagram
They even made a dedicated teaser clip for this one. (Check out those lucious chords!)
instagram
This track was later included on VoicePlay's "Citrus" album, which compiled most of the songs they recorded from 2017-19. Because the individual songs had already been made available digitally, that album is exclusively a physical item that can only be purchased at live shows or through their website.

Your probably right, it makes more sense for Anthony's visit to happen somewhere in the 2000s then the 1990s.
I also agree that the first game took place somewhere in the 2010s.
Honestly the time lines abit wack, with all of the blueprint files for the puppets from the first game saying it was created in 1970-something, even though Owen hadnt come up with the other puppets(Riley, Nick, Daisy and Rosco) until after 1983(as said in MS). Tho that could be because they just copied paste the blue print template-
(Its a bit hard to see with this one, but tumblr wont let me upload the other blueprints so this will do)
And the Kathy calender found in Riley's lab from the first game being from 1980(tho they probably just pulled a random calender template and this was the closest they got to 1987).
Slight Suggestive Warning:
.
.
.
.
.
And dont get me started on when Owen died(in his OG body I mean), even the wiki agrees:
Tho I dont blame the hello puppets dev for this minor inconsistency(since most of them were probably so they could save more time), atleast its not as bad as another horror franchise I know..
*cough cough* Fnaf *cough*
I feel like the next Hello Puppets! game(if we ever get one) should be about Anthony pierson's run in with the puppets, cause man has this guy become irrelevant after Midnight show's released(he doesnt even have a proper character page on the wiki! By that I mean I had to search through the 'all pages' tab because for some reason he isnt on the human category page)
Besides, it could also be used as an in game explanation for Nick and Daisy's absents in the first game(I said in game because IRL it was because of time restraints)
But thats just my opinion, I would love to hear what other people think!
#reblog#hello puppets#hello puppets midnightshow#anthony pierson#this is arz btw#im probably just looking into this too much#its a habit i developed because of a certain robot bear franchise-#-and their unecessarilly confusing timeline that keeps contradictating it self#i better stop myself before i start ranting about fnaf's lore-#-thats been put together by different puzzle pieces and im pretty sure some of them arent even supposed to be puzzle pieces#ok im done

Theories + Headcanons of the sock puppet
She may not be that important but there is something about her I’m still curious about. She is heard in the tapes meaning she was made before the strange events of Hello Puppets. She still speaks inaudible words, yet still seem to be close to the Handeemen for some reason. She can be heard during Nick Nack’s tapes during there Tea Party as if she’s part of the group so this got me thinking of what she really is.
Mortimer could had asked Riley to make another puppet from scratch but since none of them can really make or can’t replicate Owen’s skills to make a wood puppet, a sock puppet had to be another option. Having to improvise using old fabrics, a yellow wig, & quite possibly used living remains & body parts to make her.
None of the Handeemen seem to well…tolerate each other that much, they all have sprouted there personalities & identity when first come up to life. All somewhat having some selfishness, but making a completely new puppet out of socks could be like an experiment. Creating something living with no first thoughts of personality yet & playing with the way of bringing puppets to life by themselves, which Kathy is the first.
When Kathy was first risen to life she may have started confused about her existence of what she was. Started to screaming in pain & shock until Mortimer had to calm her down & started telling her purpose. He could have convinced Kathy like the others that he was there father & that humans, or “hosts” are just foul & putrid.
After the day she came to life she had already started to fit in with the wooden puppets. She had now joined there tea parties & got tagged along with there heinously deeds. Kathy had witnesses many scenarios of bloodshed, kidnapping, & family dinners & had already see nothing wrong with it & thought it’s just all normal in a puppet’s life.
This is just be a funny one but Kathy can even be almost smart as Riley. She’d had got Riley riled up with her sometimes. Kathy herself had just know a lot of algebra & multiplication just in a few weeks. Why? It just happened! That was the start she’d started to question things a bit more.
Might make a part 2 of this maybe idk
#theories and headcanons#made this randomly cuz many thoughts had popped up without thinking a lot#hello puppets midnightshow#hello puppets

Bio
Daisy Danger is one of the four puppet stars of "Mortimer's Handeemen," a children's TV show from the 80s alongside the titular character, Mortimer Handee, as well as Riley Ruckus and Nick Nack. In the show, Daisy is a puppet likely based around the "young, Southern housewife" stereotype/archetype who would bake and help children. She was later brought to life Daisy does not appear in-game, however when Scout and the Host enter her room, Scout implies they have met before, suggesting that Daisy is present somewhere in the building.
Personality
In "Mortimer's Handeemen," Daisy was described as helpful, friendly, and a good party-planner. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and seemed to love kids However, it is also implied that she has a quick and bad temper, and it is best to stay out of her way when she is angry, hence the name, "Daisy Danger." Daisy does not appear at any point during the game, however is Mortimer and Riley are any indication, it is possible that Daisy is now a twisted version of who she once was.
Appearance
Daisy is a cheerful-looking puppet, made to resemble a woman with a happy countenance and harmless attributes. She is designed with blonde hair that’s swooped back in twin curls on either side by a blue head band, big blue eyes, a small button like nose, bright red lipstick, and rosy cheeks. She dons a white apron with a bit of a pinkish tint over a ruffled red bell shaped dress, and a large pearl necklace to accessorize. We haven't seen Daisy Danger’s finished in game model, so it's currently unknown whether anything changes or not, although it most likely does.
Relationships
Not much is known about Daisy's relationships with the other puppets. Scout, as she does with the other puppets, seems to fear/dislike Daisy. Given how defiant Scout is, this dislike is most likely shared in return.
Daisy is not shown interacting with Mortimer or Riley, though it is possible Daisy at least respects/fears Mortimer as the leader of the group.
Like Daisy, Nick Nack is also not shown in-game, however in a collaborative music video, "Show Everyone," Daisy claims that Riley forces Nick to help her with her experiments with Hosts, which Nick hates "with defiance." This implies Daisy view Nick Nack as the defiant one of the group, while also implying she may not be too fond of Riley's attempts to experiment on other puppets.
Trivia
It's likely Daisy would be more dangerous then her show persona, possibly using her pie server as a knife to kill her victims.
Riley probably gives Daisy leftover human or animal meat to make pies and other food.
The sock monster at the tea party was mistakenly speculated to be Daisy, but is addressed as "Kathy" by Mortimer.
Nick, along with Daisy, was not added in the final game due to time constraints. The game originally would have been much longer but due to these limitations they had to cut it short. However, as stated by the game’s creator/writer, Daisy probably would have come closer to her on screen appearance thanks to ‘danger mode’ which was apparently “CRAZY.” Daisy is making a full appearance in Hello Puppets Midnight Show. I absolutely HAVE to point this out. In the game Hello Puppets (spoiler warning; if you haven’t heard of this game I *highly* recommend looking it up), there’s a point where you can go into a room and find a calendar that says “Kathy.” Upon closer inspection, you can see the pictured woman has the sock puppet Kathy’s hair style. Did they try to make their own Kathy? And if so, does this mean they’re trying to make humans?

Earlier this week the FCC held a gathering similar to the White House Correspondents Dinner called the Federal Communications Bar Association, where the FCC and major telecom companies gather, have dinner, and mingle. FCC chairman Ajit Pai went on stage to talk about the future, as well as make jokes about the industry and himself.
As if suggesting net neutrality hurts the sick and disabled wasn't enough, Pai throws out lines such as, "in collusion—I mean, in conclusion, sorry, my bad—many people are still shell shocked that I'm up here tonight. They ask themselves, how on earth did this happen?"
But the jokes didn't end there. Later on in his speech, Pai plays a video skit of a time when he was still employed by Verizon in 2003. In the video, Verizon senior VP and deputy general counsel Kathy Grillo, sits down with Pai to discuss "capturing" the FCC.
"We want to brainwash and groom a Verizon puppet to install as FCC chairman," Grillo says to Pai.
Pai responds by saying "that sounds awesome."
Grillo then says that the process would take 14 years, which lands us directly into 2017—where Pai is actually in the process of dismantling net neutrality.
"We need to find someone, smart, young, ambitious but dorky enough to throw the scent off," Grillo tells Pai.
"Hello," Pai responds, suggesting he's the obvious candidate.
Grillo then tells Pai that Verizon needs to find another puppet that's a Republican and can win the presidency in 2016. Both sit back and think about the situation while a video of Donald Trump plays in the background.
Watch Pai's entire speech on Gizmodo.

Monday, April 10, 2017
12 noon warm sunshine A quickie: just back from the Isaiah Wall across from the United Nations - A week long fast for peace and justice in Yemen, April 10 through 16, 2017 daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. My friend is wearing a black Arab robe and a mask of an old woman, carrying a dead child - she was insprired years ago by the Bread and Puppet theater (google) - a contingent gathered this morning at the CW to pray and then walked up 1st Avenue - two miles - I took very slow bus on first avenue and arrived by 10:15 - they had unfurled their banners, there is a Japanese group of banners, I said hello to Kathy Kelly and said my appearance was symbolic - no way could I stand for four hours - and never have fasted - but it is a spirited group of people.
The faith based events always do have a festive spirit - singing some would enter police vans after being arrested - there are many interesting contrasts between demos - sometimes even left wing demos would clash - Worker's World advocating to stay within the police barricades and not provoke police - Anarchists insisting on taking the streets and getting arrested.
I sat down next to Japanese drummers and did leave at 11.
By 2:30 I have to be at the eye doctor - next door to Washington SQ Park where I may head - on this balmy day. Check out my sandals.
Yesterday - I made it to Central Park, also quite mobbed - though up North even on busy Sundays you can find very quiet areas. I wanted to check out the Hawk bench - once a community - community gone. I sat down facing the Hans Christian Anderson statue and watched little ones working hard at walking, kids playing - always enjoy that - was contemplating my summer and regretting that since 1991 - my first summer in Amherst - I could never find the cubby hole to leave a few things - a space big enough for a bed -oh well
Then I did find Mimi and her son - now hesitant to write much about her - she does face book and may sooer or later come across my blog - anyway, we were happy to see each other, briefly - then took bus downtown and my friend came - we talked for quite a while - I do advocate the joys and benefits of writing - she is an excellent writer and I have always encouraged her to do more writing.
Slept a few hours, NYT - the sad news of the attacks on Christian churches in Egypt - the attack in Stockholm - the disarray in this here government - called my dentist about my teeth - he will not be in until Wednesday.
I said a quickie - must stop Marianne
