This kinda popped into my head while listening to today's episode. Also my Nikignik design keeps changing everytime I draw him.

The mourning masks of one hundred eyes in the dark.

(ID: A black and white drawing of Nikignik from Hello From The Hallowoods. They are portrayed as a singular form with three masked heads. The forward facing mask is a fox. The left facing mask is a snake. The right facing mask is an owl. On either side of Nikignik’s head are examples of what the snake and owl mask look like when front facing. The masks all have intricate geometric patterns and a crown of eyes along the brow as well as tear track patterns leaking from the main set of large, white eyes. They have a long grey neck that disappears into a large and tattered grey cloak which appears to have no body beneath. Hey I finally animated something!

This is a bit rough around the edges but I wanted to do something short and simple since I haven’t put something like this together in awhile. I’ve definitely learned a lot about the process for these sort of things and will definitely be doing more animations/animatics in a future.

Stole this from the infamous “hfth as vines” video, might even illustrate more of those clips at some point

Of course I want to finish another project first 🙃

Consider this a sneak peak, it’s only a gif but it’s gonna have some more complicated rendering then my previous animation

*Describes your indescribable beings*

(ID- A coloured illustration of Nikignik and Marolmar from @hellofromthehallowoods. Nikignik is standing on the left of the image and is an indescribable humanoid creature with multiple eyes taking up their face along with a shy smile. They have two long ears protruding from their head and a long train of feathers over the top and back of his head, down his neck to form a feathered collar. The feathers continue across his shoulders and down their back into a long cape. A smattering of Feathers also protrude from their arms and ribs. The feathers are coloured with light pink, purple and mauve with golden eye patterns on each feather. The rest of Nikignik’s body is a depiction of a purple galaxy, filled with deep navy, black and blue marks as well as white stars. Their body is partially dissected with their limbs floating in place as if made of a liquid.

On the right of the image stands Marolmar. Marolmar’s head is a wooden dear mask made up of brown and red markings as well as moss and mushrooms. Two tree limbs grow from their head like antlers which bloom pink cherry blossoms. Marolmars neck is a wooden tree trunk decorated with mushrooms and mould that sits upon a collar of dried grass and flowers. Tucked within the long grass one of Nikignik’s feathers. Across marolmars shoulders is a green robe that looks like carpet moss on a forest floor. The robe is open slightly and reveals a body similar to Nikignik’s, a vast green galaxy of stars and teal nebulas as well as both of his hands. Marolmars hands are elongated cloven deer hooves that are positioned in front of his torso, holding a ball of radiant green light. End ID)

For my illustrator class we had to do a Firewatch style wallpaper - naturally I did the Hallowoods

(I ran out of flags I wanted to use so wolf 359 isn’t really one, although I accidentally made it kinda American flag ish lmao)

I personally like the welcome to night vale and hello from the hallowoods the best, also I think the wolf 359 one turned out excellent I really like it

Gathering Storm

Made another animation this one starring Olivier! I’ve been wanting to illustrate Olivier’s weather abilities for a while now since they’ve always looked so darn cool in my head whenever he used them.

Anyway this was a lot of fun to do and provided the opportunity for me to experiment with different rendering techniques for animation. Gradients and blended stuff overall takes some practice to learn how to move without looking choppy.

The effects also took a long time, I did a lot of experimenting with those to figure out what looked the best. The version up above is certainly the most dramatic looking but I also ended up with some calmer ones.
