Eleanor is the third child and only daughter of King Simon and Queen Helena. Her older brother, Robert is three years older than her and her twin brother, Liam. Growing up, she was cherished by her older brother, Robert, and she looked up to him. The twins were always close to each other and looked out for one another when they were young. And, though her relationship with her father was good, her relationship with her mother was contentious to say the least.

As the third child, Eleanor never had the pressure of the throne on her shoulders, so, she was the wild child of the family: partying, drinking, and indulging in more illicit substances. She had a reputation and she played up to it brilliantly.

After Robert was killed in action, she spiraled in her grief and guilt over having been partying when she was meant to call him. This led her to be in a position of being blackmailed by someone who became her bodyguard. He used her to get what he wanted from her, and manipulated her into thinking he genuinely cared.

Unfortunately, it wasn't long after Robert died that her father, the king, was murdered, leaving Liam to become king sooner than any of them expected. This left Eleanor more alone than ever.

I miss The Royals so much, y'all have no idea. The cliffhanger of the last season still haunts me and it's been years since its untimely cancellation. Because of the timing of its episodes airing, my mom and I chose to wake up an hour early every Monday morning (instead of staying up late Sunday night) just to watch new episodes. We started watching it because they had a marathon if season 1 on tv one day and got so hooked that we just cancelled all our other plans that day to watch it. She and I watch a lot of shows together, but we would actually talk about this one and come up with theories and things we hoped would happen in the show. When they were talking about cancelling it, she and I were some of the loudest advocates against its cancellation. My mom has never been that invested in a show before and we are both still very bitter about its cancellation (and stupidly hopeful that someone might save it some day). I just saw a post saying it's been five years since it first aired and it made me so nostalgic and sad. I long for the days when my mom and I would spend hours yelling about Cyrus or Robert or whoever and all their evil schemes or us cheering on our favourites. Ugh. I miss it so much
