. 🎨Light in the darkness 🧑🏻‍🎨#Hekkoto For the glam and the glory, I wished upon a star. Late nights studying and years spent hiding, I ran from the love which said I was enough. Past tense to sound enlightened, false humility never got me one step further. Riding the waves of confusion, my soul was captivated. I was constantly placed in awe. Her eyes took me from my hometown. That touch reduced my plans to not. When the earthquake hit, she took the paved road. Thank God, she didn’t follow me into the wild. Fear and trembling often took hold of me. Many times, I wished I could slow down. Looking back, no one was chasing me. However, what laid ahead was what I thought I wanted. More often than I’d like to admit, I was wrong. Dancing with my emotions, I felt bare underneath the sky. Falling to pieces, my heart was safe to scream with the wilderness surrounding my sight. Reconnecting to the past can be so tumultuous because of what I’d lost. Youth and innocence were so underrated. No amount of strength can make up for the wonder I entered this life with . . . So, in the midst of the constant brooding and reflection, my mind is left with the photographs of those who gave me so much. Not quite stable, yet ever so supported, I falter. This young man is grateful for the laughter, smiles, and warmth. Devour my intelligence with your presence. Existence, how did you afford me with the grace to experience all of the above? As much as I hate the process, I find wholeness through hindsight.
