Shisui as Regulus' son sounds amazing and all the angst that would come from that is top tier, just thinking of Sirius somehow finding out during Harry's third year of Hogwarts when he escapes from Azkaban and realizing that he's an uncle and this boy is Regulus' son but he can't take care of him because he's a wanted man and akshdkskajkssj it makes me unwell in the best ways possible
Also shisui could 100% still look like himself through his mum so, besides some nearly shoulder-length curls and some ILLEGALLY beautiful grey eyes, we're talking Konoha's Hottie hits Hogwarts and something extremely LGBTQA+ is happening 🤣✨✨✨step aside Cedric.... Wait, wait wait wait SHISUI SEEKER, SHISUI SEEKER
also Pfffft imagine kreacher finding out when Sirius goes to Grimmauld and mentions it (shisui might know he's a black, he might go by the name and know his father, but that's all through Gringotts and he's never been able to go to Grimmauld because Walburga was alive) and kreacher is like
Tumblr media
MASTER REGULUS HAD A WHAT?!
So we have shisui (a hot, badass, Hufflepuff quidditch seeker) who would probably not know harry very well (just because 1) harry is surprisingly introverted and Shisui's dad is a known death eater and 2) house divide bullshit 3) shisui is probably manipulating the fuck out of DE kids as well as his own house which either looks dodgy or flighty to the outside) suddenly having a common cause together. Oooooh wait no this is even better because the whole scandal with black would cause massive attention for shisui and the whole thing with Hufflepuff in that year would mean there's problems with shisui being thought of as a traitor or the one letting Sirius into the school, there might be issues with shisui catching the snitch (Cedric can be a chaser idgaf) whilst harry falls before Shisui catches him too... Shisui would 100% get dragged into the mess at the shrieking shack and yes he would run off into the dark to re-catch peter and be put at risk by wolf!remus AS WELL as actually meeting both normal and TT!harry&Hermione... Ohhhhhh, yes yes yes

Kidnapped whilst pregnant
Indra Otsutsuki
Tumblr media
💜Indra has always been quite monopolizing of your time and it only got worse after he abducted you. However, he reaches an entirely new level when he finds out that you are expecting his baby. He has always wanted to have a few children with his darling, always wanted some heirs to continue his bloodline after he would perish from this earth. You find himself low-key hovering around you as soon as he knows about it, black eyes always gazing at your slowly swelling belly. It is hard to be left alone after this as Indra is always within a few feet from you to ensure that nothing can touch you. It isn't hard to notice the possessive pride gleaming in those black orbs of his whenever he looks at you and your growing belly. After all in his eyes nothing binds a husband and his wife more together than a baby born from the marriage. It is the last claim that he needs in order to fully feel like he has you claimed forever as his and he looks forward to the birth of the child.
💜It is hard to imagine how someone would have gotten that far without being brutally murdered by Indra. On the other hand besides a doctor who tends to you and the growing baby, Indra doesn't have anyone who could watch over you if he should be gone for a while. Those trust issues are what ultimately leads you to be abducted and as soon as Indra has found out about it, the wrath consumes him utterly as red eyes burn with hunger for violence, the colour of his eyes a foreshadowing for all of the blood that will be spilled in the near future. His mind goes back and forth between hot and violent anger and bounded rationality as he tracks you and the future corpses down. He has always been dangerous but now that you have been taken away just when he started mellowing out slowly with the heartwarming thought of greeting his child soon into this world, he relapses completely as he turns into a monster that has no place for mercy as he slaughters even innocent people.
💜His Susanoo wreaks havoc on the entire landscape as soon as Indra has found their hideout and has detected where you are kept. Screams are all that you hear from outside before in one quick swoop, the roof is suddenly gone and a terrifying creature looks inside, glowing as if it is made out of purple fire. Neither you nor your captors can even utter a single word in presence of this monster as one of its hands reaches out to grab you, surprisingly gentle in the way it holds you all whilst its other hand crushes the other people inside the now destroyed building. You hear silent screams quickly dying down from your high position, don't dare to look down all whilst cowering in the purple palm, hands wrapped around your swollen middle. It all happens so fast as he heartlessly murders every person he finds within the small district, paranoid that if he lets one live they will come for you again as well as driven by a deadly thirst for revenge. Only after the massacre his Susanoo lets you down in the ruins.
💜Nothing happened to you nor to the baby even with all the stress your body went through and the malnourishment you received for the last few days. Perhaps this is the only reason that keeps Indra from losing himself to violence once again but this ordeal has left some scars on him. Indra has gotten seemingly more paranoid and agitated as he shows an increased hostility even against the doctor who nurses you back to health. He doesn't allow you to be alone anymore as he even takes you with him when he does his rigorous training even as you grow heavier with his child. His eyes constantly return to you in an increased frequency that they haven't done before as he needs the constant reassurance that you are still in the same spot you were in only one minute ago. This increase of guarding paranoia seems to peak in your last trimester where you are at your most vulnerable before it dies a tad bit down when you eventually go into labor and birth him a healthy baby boy.
Madara Uchiha
Tumblr media
🌑Your pregnancy is a big deal to the entire Uchiha clan as the baby you carry will be the next heir after Madara. You have always gotten a lot of attention merely for being his spouse but with the announcement of your pregnancy, all eyes are even more on you. At times Madara does like to show you off to the rest of the clan, especially once your baby bump starts showing. After all it is delightful to see you growing with his baby and there is a promiment pride he feels for knowing as well as seeing how everyone now sees physical proof for the love he feels. No one could deny now that you belong to Madara Uchiha, not even you. On the other hand he fully understands that the elder of his clan can be a true pain in the ass as they turn their attention more and more to you now that you will give birth to the next Uchiha heir and he does you the huge favor of shielding you from them as good as he can. They demand time for you, time he would rather have you spend with him.
🌑A lot of duties are still resting on his shoulders but he has chosen some guards himself to look out after you now that you are to give birth to his child in only a few months. However, very few could have ever seen it coming that someone would actually manage to abduct you in Madara's absence and there is a huge shock that comes crashing down on the entire clan when the news come out. Madara is completely enraged, the wrath fueling the inferno that is threatening to burst out of him and burn down everything around him. Actions are immediately taken before the news can reach people outside the clan for it would be shameful to let others find out about such a disastrous mistake. Only a handful of people outside the Uchiha clan such as the Hokage are informed yet Madara rejects all help his old friend offers him and so does the clan as they feel like they have to get you back without any help from outside since this is a problem they have to solve themselves. Madara doesn't even want help from his own clan as he sees it entirely as his own responsibility.
🌑Despite the heavy weight he feels on his shoulders, none of them is shown on the outside nor is any mercy directed against the enemies as the Uchiha work fast and waste no time. The rest of the team that tags along is honestly overkill as Madara himself is enough to handle everything, besides the medics that is as they come along to cater to you as soon as you are freed. The entire outcome is decided within only a few minutes where Madara effortlessly fights his way to you and leaves a path of carnage behind. When he eventually reaches you, even you feel cold chills running down your spine as you look into ruthless eyes with activated Sharingan. It is expected though as you are reminded that your spouse is a man who has fought and killed ever since he has been a little child. He speaks not a single word as he frees you from the ropes you were tied up with, his face hardened to not let any of the worries he is feeling right now show as he is still within enemy territory.
🌑He never forgives the guards for their grave mistake as those poor souls are taken apart by not only his palpable rage but also the elders of the clan who feel ashamed for this whole ordeal. The Uchiha clan prides itself after all for their strong warriors. Madara makes it afterwards quite clear that he will not leave you alone anymore afterwards so the responsibilities will have to come to him from now on. That or he will bring you along the next time he has to go somewhere else. In either case, you will not be allowed to leave his gaze from that day on. The only reason why there haven't been serious consequences for your former guards is simply because you and the baby weren't harmed in the process. Everything is still kept a secret though so that the other citizens of Konohagakure don't find out and Hashirama sees it through to take care of that as well. The only news that are allowed to reach even those outside the clan is when Madara's son is born and the clan celebrates his birth.
Hashirama Senju
Tumblr media
🌳When it comes to well-known publicity of your pregnancy, this is definitely something the whole village will know of at one point. Hashirama wouldn't mind that much since he likes to view the village as one big family but it his own clan as well as his brother who put their feet down and decide to be show more caution for now. News of your pregnancy shouldn't be made public instantly as all of them insist to have a more wary approach to all of this. As beloved as Hashirama may be, he has a lot of enemies too and for that it is of utmost importance to let no one know that you carry his heir as of now. There is a noticable increase of guards and safety meassurements, all instructed by his clan. It dampens your freedom by a good bit and you complain about this to Hashirama. He attempts to lessen the restrictions because whilst he also knows that you have to be safely guarded, he thinks his clan is overdoing it even if they do it with good intentions in mind.
🌳Hashirama has been even more insanely clingy ever since he found out that both of you will be parents soon and he has gotten even more euphoric when the first noticable movements of the baby happened. Yet he is a man loaded with duties and responsibilities and he is well aware of that. The reluctance he has always felt when leaving you turns to cold and unaltered horror when he receives the news that someone managed to sneak into the residence of his clan where you were spending your time and abducted you, most likely with the goal of blackmailing the Hokage later on. This is a huge deal for the entire facility centered around the Hokage as well as the entirety of his clan yet it is a strictly guarded secret that isn't allowed to be passed down to the citizens. In between all of the chaos Hashirama is positively hysteric as his emotions are threatening to drown him in his own despair. One meltdown, tears and a brother who chastises him for his lack of composure later, he is firm in his decision to be join the team sent out to rescue you.
🌳With Tobirama's terrifying sensory abilities and the skills of every member of the team combined, everything goes terrifyingly smooth. Little to no mercy is shown as it is a crime of high tier to abduct the pregnant spouse of the Hokage, especially for the Senju clan since this is the next heir and allowing something to happen whilst under their supervision would be a forever stain in their pride. His wood release could cause some serious destruction but he wields it wisely to not potentially harm you in any way. His little brother accompanies him to the room he can sense your chakra coming from, barely able to hold his brother back from just storming there without any plan since he needs to see you and know that his baby and you are both doing fine. Hashirama, who has prioritised your rescue over revenge, overwhelms anyone who tries to stop him easily with his strength. He knows he should keep his composure but he can't help himself from shedding a couple of tears and barely suppressed sobs when he finds you.
🌳Paranoia eats from that day on his soul away. There have been no serious injuries on you and the medics have assured him that everything seems to be fine with the fetus but none of it can truly erase the amount of emotions he has felt within only 24 hours. Hashirama glues himself to your hips from that day on and refuses to leave you alone again. His own clan has to apologise to you as they would have never expected someone to slip past them just like this. A few of the people who were involved in your abduction have been taken prisoner and are harshly interrogated and he fears that there might be more people like them out there who would try to take you and your baby away from him. You are smothered in affection and apologies from that day on as Hashirama seems to be imconsolable for what you had to go through. The paranoia and increased clinginess stays even after you had a successful birth and both of you became parents to a cute boy.
Tobirama Senju
Tumblr media
🌊Tobirama has always been focused on his clan but never that much on having his own family with someone. His mind has always been more focused on seeing it through that the village his brother established with dreams survives, especially one he is named Second Hokage. Work has always been on his mind as he views his duties seriously even if that may make him seem like a strict and cold man. Nevertheless though, your pregnancy has been planned by him beforehand and even you agreed to it despite the occasional disdain you may feel due to his strict supervision. He can sense the chakra presence of the little one long before anyone else notices and since he is a sensor type he isn't above locating your position even if he shouldn't be around you. That doesn't mean that he won't let you be without any help as you have a whole team of Anbu watching over you from the shadows whilst he is in the office and works on everything that needs to be done.
🌊Growing unease and panic chew him away on the inside yet he doesn't show it as he lashes out on the Anbu that are forced to give him a report. If he would have time he would lmost likely pace back and forth in his office in panic and run his fingers through his hair in attempts to suppress the emotions brooding inside of him but he doesn't have it. Time is sacred, especially since you are in your last trimester with his child. Everything happens so fast as he assembles a team of highly skilled shinobi and medics he trusts, detects your presence by using his skills to sense you and heads out with them. Your chakra presence and the smaller chakra presence inside of you are the only thing he has to know that both of you are still alive yet he denies himself the feelings of fear and worry in order to focus on a mission he has to fulfill. He is tense though as well as harsh, prone to criticise everything even amongst his team. They gain quickly a good grasp of the place you are kept in as well as the guards before they head out to retrieve you.
🌊Tobirama has specifically ordered to keep only a few alive for interrogation later on but that has to be done by someone who isn't him. He proceeds as ruthless and cold as he has always done in times of war only that no one in here comes close to stopping him. He just follows your chakra presence whilst slaying everyone he comes across, red eyes cold and hardened from years of battle. Even you sense the change around him when he enters the room you are kept in and recoil in fear before easing up since you at least know that Tobirama wouldn't harm you. The harsh mask melts though, even if only a bit when he finds you. He only has so much time though as he does a quick checkup on you but he isn't able to find anything grand. The only thing that worries him is the air of stress and fear around you as you are still shaken up by everything that occured. He has to help you outside and he takes a different route to spare you from the carnage he single-handedly created on his way to save you.
🌊His team has to slow down siginificantly with you as you are in a delicate condition which isn't optimal since they are still in enemy territory. To make everything even worse, your water breaks on the way back to Konohagakure and Tobirama barely manages to leave enemy territory before the whole team has to stop in order to assist you to give birth. The two medics he has brought along have never proven to be a better decision then now as they know what to do and take for a little while charge as they order the others what to do if they want to be of any help. Meanwhile the people who know of what has happened with you get increasingly angsty as Tobirama has been gone for longer than they anticipated but all of them refuse to believe that anything has happened. All of them are in for quite a surprise though when the whole team returns. Tobirama, despite still keeping part of his ruthless demeanor, seems to be in a slightly better mood as he looks at the little girl with a tuft of silver hair on her head with a soft gleam in his eyes as you hold her.
Kakashi Hatake
Tumblr media
📖Kakashi has recently just been bombarded with responsibility after responsibility. He has been named the new Hokage of the village just recently and is still in the process of settling down in his new position with new duties that have been interfering significantly with the time he used to spend stalking watching you and now he has to come up with a new way to keep an eye out for you to keep you from anything stupid. Only for you to then drop the next bomp onto him. You're expecting a child. His child. He spends an entire minute silently staring at you, too little yet too many thoughts going through his mind as he processes your words. In hindsight he is more surprised that it took so many years for you to get pregnant because Kakashi has always been quite kinky, brimming with ideas due to the books he is always consuming. In that moment though he feels quite overwhelmed as his life is undergoing so much drastic changes. Both of you decide in a long discussion later on that you'll keep the child though.
📖Then something else happens though that nearly threatens to break him down under everything that has been happening in his life already. You are abducted, something that would have never happened if he would have been still a Jonin without as much responsibilities as he has now as the Sixth Hokage. Then he is plunged into a terrible commotion that breaks out as you are now the spouse of the new Hokage after all which makes this entire accident all the more terrible. Kakashi feels almost numb from the sudden shock. It hasn't been that long since you have told him of the pregnancy and he hasn't told anyone about it yet. The people who have abducted you are probably none the wiser. If something were to happen to you at this early stage in the pregnancy... His mind is quite detailed to provide him with a couple of images that make his heart and stomach twist simultanously as he feels icy fear rising up inside of him. Despite some people arguing that he is the Hokage, he heads out himself for this mission.
📖Everyone on the team knows Kakashi personally so they can sense the sorrow and guilt he feels deep inside as he is very quiet and stuck in his own thoughts during the mission. He is deeply troubled and the new weight that seems to have wrapped itself around his chest won't go away as it only grows heavier every minute. The feeling of urgency grows more and more and reaches its peak when the hideout of the abductors is found and the commotion breaks out when the two forces clash with each other. Kakashi spares little to no time in making his way to you as all of his own emotions are having their own fights whilst he deflects all of the enemy attacks before murdering them in cold blood. It is only after he has rescued you that he feels like the weight is slowly lifted off of his chest. It is quite awkward though when the medic he has brought along finds out about the pregnancy whilst examining you, although they are sensible enough to only tell him this in absence of everyone else.
📖It isn't long after that news eventually spread slowly amongst the village as it is getting harder to keep your pregnancy a secret at this point. Kakashi isn't too comfortable about others finding out but it was inevitable at this point. What he didn't do prior to your abduction he makes up for now though as you are truly smothered underneath his overprotective paranoia. The only positive thing that has been gained from this incident is that he has started accepting the fact that he is going to be a father and have a child as he got a taste of what it would feel to lose it and you together in one swift motion. Never again. He is very reserved to answer any questions related to your pregnancy though as he shows a very great level of wariness still. A part of Kakashi is still feeling quite insecure about raising a new life with you that will be entirely his responsibility but he is feeling a fierce determination growing inside of him when months later his son is born into the world and he sees him for the first time.
Obito Uchiha
Tumblr media
🔥He is bound to find out very quickly as he is pretty much the only person who is around you as you have no one else to rely on. Upon being told of the news that you are expecting, he feels simultanously a surge of unwavering paranoia as well as euphoric ecstasy running through his veins which heightens everything even more as he becomes quite emotional. This wasn't an intended result despite his sexual fantasies of impregnating you but it shouldn't come as a huge surprise either. Obito embraces the situation pretty quickly and he is coaxing you into being happy too if you should show signs of fear or reluctance. Yet he seems to be so skittish about letting a doctor around you even if he knows that he doesn't possess the needed medical knowledge to assist you through birth. It is then that Zetsu, the only one who finds out about it, offers to help Obito in the matter and manages to convince the Uchiha to accept the help. His focus shifts even more from that day on as your safety and comfort become even more important.
🔥The one time, the one time, where Zetsu has to force him to separate from you as there has been some urgent business regarding the Akatsuki, some bounty hunters find the house as well as you and take you away. Obito is hysteric when he returns to the empty house, his Mangekyo Sharingan activated as he is about to murder Zetsu as he holds him responsible for it only for the other Akatsuki member to avert Obito's wrath by promising that he will quickly find you as time is of essence. Obito gives him a strict time limit as he has known the being called Zetsu since years already which is his saving grace. As promised, Zetsu doesn't take long to drag you down but even this short time has already damaged Obito's mental health significantly as he relies on you to keep his sanity intact. He doesn't want to live without you and he doubts that he could do it anyways, now more than ever since the only good thing besides having you in his life has taken place inside of you. If anything happens to you or the baby, he will commit genocide against humanity.
🔥Zetsu is left in the dust as soon as Obito has found out from him where you are as the Uchiha doesn't even bother to listen to anything else. The only thing overwhelming his mind in that moment is you and his child and he feels the dark and intense rage growing every second as he hunts the bounty hunters down. They are not prepared when he attacks in the middle of the night as soon as he has spotted their silhouttes and they are entirely caught off-guard as he slaughters all of them. From the information they managed to squeeze out of you, they knew that you were connected to one of the Akatsuki but nothing could have prepared them from the monster of a man murdering every single one of them without even caring what they have to say. It is a brutal scene as only you and the silver moon shining in the sky remain the only witnesses to the terribly incident that happens on that night. You're left in tears after everything you just saw yet Obito is instantly smothering you with sickly sweet affection despite their blood staining his face and body.
🔥He cranks up the clinginess and affection to a whole new level after that incident. He only grows to hate the world even more as it nearly took the most precious people in his life away from him. From that day on you truly don't get any break from him though as he is with you from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, never straying away from his touches once. Zetsu knows better than to ever ask of him to abandon your side for a short moment again unless he wants to risk being attacked by Obito again. It is quite exhausting mentally for you though with all of the isolation, especially now that you are expecting. Obito on the other hand continues feeding you with poisoned honey to make you forget about all of the worries and help you focus on what is most important right now. He gets quite giddy when both of you start speculating that you might carry twins and the speculations are proven to be true when you give birth to two little girls who almost make him want to cry with how precious they are.
Shisui Uchiha
Tumblr media
🍂Shisui has never been exceptionally focused on the prospect of having children of his own yet as the years have gone by, more and more people from his own clan have been asking him this question time and time again. He himself has given it a lot more thought recently but he seeks your own opinion about it as well. He would like having a kid or two of his own but it is no urgent need of his. The pregnancy has been a decision both of you have agreed to though and he has been doing some preparations since. He has arranged some time he will have for himself and will spend with you as soon as you are in your last few weeks and he is actively praying that nothing will happen that would force him to abandon your side. At the same time he is initially very much careful to only tell a few trusted individuals to prevent the news leaking out and so that everyone in his clan finds out. Itachi is one of the first people who finds out and Itachi is one of the few people he wholeheartedly trusts around you as well.
🍂He is on a mission with the Anbu when the urgent message arrives him and it is the first time that he has abandoned a mission as quickly as he did as he knows what is more important to him in that moment. He will deal with the consequences later. He heads back to the Leaf Village and any critic anyone could want to give him for throwing his current mission away dies down the moment they take a look at his Sharingan as there is a cold and chilling rage around him. Apparently a team has already been dispatched to find you and as soon as he has figured out where they suspect your current location to be, he is leaving the village once again. The icy rage brooding inside of him is not one that lashes out on others though which allows him to be fairly composed as he is quickly catching up to the team already sent out to save you from the people who have abducted you. Eventually he can sense them in front of him and a little while later he has caught up to them.
🍂A few of them are quite astonished to see Shisui there. Itachi, who was also away with the Anbu but returned sooner to the village and insisted on being made part of the mission, isn't nearly as surprised. He is hastily informed of everything that he should know before he takes charge of everything as he is one of the most experienced and skilled shinobi in the team. He quickly gathers everything he needs to know by capturing one of the guards close to the hideout and putting him under a genjutsu before they proceed with the mission. It is sneaky, quiet and for that all the more deadly as no one knows what is going on as person after person is silently assassinated. There is little to no commotion which catches you all the more by surprise when Shisui suddenly enters the cell you have been kept in with a familiar grin on his face to give you a sense of security. He tells you though that he would like you to close your eyes and to trust him as he leads you outside to spare you from the sight of slashed throats and puddles of blood.
🍂Shisui ultimately escapes all criticism and backlash he could have received from the council as well as some members of the Uchiha clan. Mainly because of his talent but also because the icy ire that overcomes him whenever someone even suggests that his job as an Anbu is more important than your life and the life of his twins, as both of you have recently found out, makes it for everyone around him hard to breathe as they soak in this cold wrath of his. Itachi feels a lingering sense of guilt for having been also away at the time of your abduction and so Shisui and him try to arrange it that one can be with you when the other one is on a mission. It's better to be safe than sorry again after all. Shisui's prayers seem to be heard as he is able to spend the last few weeks of your last trimester with you without anything grand happening that would require his skills. So he is able to be with you when your water breaks and is able to witness the birth of his two sons.
Itachi Uchiha
Tumblr media
🍡A child and a family has been something Itachi has given up on ever since he took the responsibility of slaughtering his entire clan and joining the Akatsuki. He doesn't try to dwell on any what-if-situations as they are merely distracting daydreams he could never have for himself anymore. Yet you have made him prone to the occasional daydreams again, an ability he thought he had buried. It is a short and blissful spark of imagination yet he wants it to stay that way. As only an imagination. Yet destiny fulfills him a silent yearning that Itachi has forbidden himself to indulge in when you admit to him that you think that there is a possibility that you might be pregnant. You see his normally stoic and calm face being overtaken by a troubled and worried expression before he quickly smooths his expression as he pushes everything down. Suddenly you feel self-conscious about the pregnancy and Itachi senses your growing distress. He takes you in his arms, promises you that he isn't mad and that both of you will find a way to make it work.
🍡Yet there are challenges littered all along the way as even you know that his life isn't really suited for a baby. He belongs to the Akatsuki, he has a high bounty on his head and he is sometimes gone for weeks to do a mission. There is so much to figure out still and then the final drop finally causes the barrel to overflow when bounty hunters track the house down as they have collected hints that one of the Akatsuki has recently been seen around the area. All of that happens whilst Itachi has been forced to go on another mission, very reluctant though with your current situation. He returns nearly two weeks later and that despite having actually hurried up to finish the mission faster than normally. Even Kisame has noticed that there is something that bothers him. His heart turns to ice, coldness filling his veins as he can find old traces of a fight in the cottage and knows what must have happened. It's like someone put the burden of the entire world on his shoulder as a feeling of helplessness creeps upon him.
🍡Itachi completely disappears for a while to the point where not even Kisame knows where he is. Nights are spent chasing after every little hint that he can grasp and as time passes on, Itachi finds himself growing colder and ruthless in his methods as he slowly feels like someone gnaws away his sanity. He has to do this all by himself with no one to rely on yet sleepless nights and restless days eventually lead him to find the bounty hunters who have taken you and who have imprisoned you ever since. Maybe it is the fact that he has experienced incredible amounts of silent stress and grief for so many days or maybe it is the fact that he hears how they talk so condescendingly about you and dismiss your pregnancy that leads him to suddenly snap but whatever is the reason, the results are terrifying. They can't even blink nor scream before they are dead, the short look of terror in their eyes the only thing Itachi allows himself to enjoy before he rushes to your side.
🍡Guilt and paranoia cling to his skin for the following months which leads him to cling more to you. Despite your condition being ultimately fine aside from mild injuries and malnourishment, it is safe to assume that both of you have gotten quite scared from the whole ordeal. You seek Itachi equally as much out which results in both of you to stick together a lot more prior to the whole abduction from the bounty hunters. Itachi could have enjoyed this more if it wouldn't have been the result of such a traumatising experience for the both of you. He has to find a new place for you to stay in now that the old house has been found once and his guilt only increases for having to put you through all of this despite having just been imprisoned for weeks. He knows that the Akatsuki would never tolerate him skipping missions so he is fully prepared to leave a shadow clone with you even if it will cost him energy and half of his chakra. It is a difficult situation but he knows that he'll do absolutely everything to find a way to make it work when his beautiful daughter is born.
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
💙You have always sort of known that Sasuke would eventually bring up the topic of children with you but it happens sooner than you would have expected it to happen. Sasuke will have at least one child and that isn't even up for debatte but he wants you to want it too since his child deserves attentive parents who will raise them and so he tries to coax you into the idea in hopes that you will at least agree somewhat to it all. He starts searching for a house to settle in as soon as he starts actively trying for a baby with you and he finds one at the same time that he also senses that everything has worked and that you carry his child. It is a strange sensation for him to actually settle down since he hasn't felt anything remotely close to a domestic life ever since both of his parents died. Despite the struggles he sometimes has, he is much more dedicated to you and the growing baby as he sees it through that you never stray more than a few feet away from him.
💙Just as he was about to gain some sort of peacefulness about his new life, something happens that instantly causes him to relapse for a moment to the violent rage he felt in his younger days. Someone took you whilst he went out to town to arrange a doctor for you and left you at home because you weren't feeling so well with your morning sickness. This is no ordinary feat and he can only assume that this person must have planned all of this already for quite some time which begs the question of how long they have been keeping an eye out for him. There is no time to admire them though as they will be dead very soon. He instantly goes on a hunt as he reveals the side of him that he never fully let go and that will never die. Whoever kidnapped you was rather sneaky and smart in hiding their traces but with two different dojutsu, battle experience and an unmatched ruthlessness they can only enjoy the fruit of their labor for a short while before they are inevitably found.
💙You share the terror with your abductor as both of you have a bonding experience when Sasuke quietly appears in the place. Both of his eyes are quickly scanning you to gain a first impression on how your condition is before they settle on the person next to you. The brief glimmer of worry in his eyes completely vanishes as he glares at them, his gaze unnerving and so cold that even you feel chills from it. In a measly attempt born out of pure desperation, they try to threaten your own life. A sickening crack is heard as Sasuke appears next to them in less than the blink of an eye and breaks their arm that held a kunai threateningly to your belly. You hear him briefly mutter to you to look away with barely suppressed rage in his voice and the only thing you can do is to squint your eyes and try to blend out the short anthem of pain and screams that occur before they die down. You still refuse to open your eyes as you are already feeling nauseous enough. Sasuke guides you outside again before telling you that you can open your eyes again.
💙He immediately sends a message so that the doctor from a nearby town can visit and examine your condition. Luckily for you and everyone else they deem that nothing serious has happened and that the fetus as well as you should be fine with enough care and rest. Only the devil knows what Sasuke would have done if anything would have happened. He has learned a lesson the hard way though as he from that day on doesn't stray away from your side anymore at all. He either takes you with him if you are feeling well enough, since exercise and fresh air is important, or he stays at home with you if you shouldn't feel too well. He kind of settles in the more he embraces the idea of his incoming fatherhood as months fly by and you grow heavy with his first child. He sends a message to the doctor as soon as your water breaks and you start feeling the contractions coming in. You spent painful hours laboring before you finally give birth to a little girl who fills his heart with pride and love.

@shisui-uchiha-rp
ㅤNot his most graceful entrance. Silent as usual, a shadow in the dark of night and nearly untraceable if it wasn't for the eerie red glow of his eyes - yet, the moment Itachi finally found himself past the open window of the very cramped living room, it took every ounce of self-restraint [and dignity] to not just allow himself to flop on his face like a loaf of stale bread. Home, finally, after almost an entire week.
ㅤThe mission hadn't even been that dangerous, truth be told. But it had been long, and it had been laborious, and it had been hectic, and, by the gods, with only two ANBU operatives dispatched, it had stretched favorable odds very thin; even when one of them, himself, was a one-man army. A one-boy army, to be accurate. Whatever. The only thing that mattered, now, was the familiar scent of worn-out wood floorboards and his favorite fabric softener and piled up books from the library still awaiting free time to be read. A myriad recipes with vegetables, taxonomy charts and dichotomous keys to identify reptiles because why not, general geography of the Land of Earth.
Home, yes.
ㅤThere was also the obsessive meticulous part of him that was insisting he ought to still write the mission report before officially blacking out/sleeping like the dead for a few hours, so that it could easily and promptly be delivered to the Hokage in the morning... but, for once, Itachi truly was considering ignoring it. Not for lack of will, rather because he was so thoroughly exhausted. Sore muscles and aching limbs and a dull, annoying headache throbbing behind his eyes as reward for overusing them. That and, of course, the acidic taste of death staining his hands and never to be purged again, but that was nothing new anymore. None of it was, truly. Frightening, how atrocious acts so easily became routine.
ㅤForcing his legs-as-heavy-as-lead to move, sparing only a moment to push the weasel-shaped mask slightly askew to hang by the side of his head instead, the young clan heir headed over to the corridor and, from there, to the bedroom. No lights and no sound, as far as his senses could tell [which... really, wasn't all that much, at the moment; an elephant might be able to sneak past him], and that meant that Shisui was likely asleep. Good. Excellent. Let at least one of them be a functional human being. Just to be sure, though, and to not risk accidentally waking up his friend, he peeked inside first and called very softly.

Now, we know Shisui has a lot of stamina. But how would he react if he met a girl who has more stamina than him? ;)
😘🥵🫨🫨 <- Shisui’s emotions by the end of this.
Well. I’m glad you asked, we all know Shisui has a knack for being dominant. If met with a girl that matches, or even out maneuvers him. He’s smitten.
NSFW; simpy Shisui is best Shisui; I want to fuck him; now you can too.
Shisui is in to that femdom shit. Out of all the topping he does on Itachi (yes he absolutely tops Itachi, the Uchiha hierarchy doesn’t mean shit, their heir is his bitch) doesn’t even compare to how Shisui gets when a female is possessing him. Like some sort of weird comparison to a black widow, or a praying mantis. All of those females devour the male after mating. Shisui would gladly sacrifice himself for a single night with this girl if it meant coating her insides and her giving him the privilege of depositing his next of kin.
Shisui isn’t absurdly blunt about it, gets a little too close here and there. Purposely works up a heavy sweat. The classic shit girls like. Taking a bit more than he can chew for the night as she takes him back to her place. When did he ever go to a girls house? Never. Usually he was the one leading the way, but not with this girl.
She got him by the balls. Literally. Slobbering all over his shaft, drowning on him. Threatening to make him cum fast and hard, well…he does actually. Especially when she mentions hearing a rumor about some Uchiha breeding kink. ‘Heh, yea. It’s true.’ Shrugs it off like nbd. Thinks he’s going to give her a few good rounds and call it a night, slip out the window when she’s asleep.
No. No, no, no…Nani?
This girl almost crushes him, in a cute way. Taunting him while he is pinned beneath her, having the time of her life. Using him for her own pleasure, which Shisui is all for. ‘Cum as many times as you want, sweetheart.’ As her pussy massages him closer to the edge—again and again.
Squeezing his cock deliciously each time she cum, making him cums on impulse.
Four? Eight? Shisui doesn’t keep count. Not when his testicles are bunched up again, his cock throbbing and swelling inside of her. Her fucking him stupid was a treat. Never in all of the greater Shinobi nations did Shisui think he would consider asking too tap out early. Her pouting and pleading to be an Uchiha cum dump didn’t fall on silent ears or onyx orbs. They were captured by red spun pearls and his eager cock to please.
‘Yes ma’am.’ It was rhetorical, but the hand around his neck had Shisui panting, cumming unexpectedly fast again. Only this time, it sorta hurts. The tank is empty.
Has to beg this girl for the love of all that is sacred (his shriveled ballsack) that if he finishes one more time he might crawl out of his skin.

Hiiii how about a prompt for Further Down Road One, political marriage!Shikasuke, maybe something from an Uchiha's POV on the Shikabane-hime's meteoric rise in power, international acclaim, and political capital? And how it ripples out onto the clan as a whole?
I mean, the point of Road One is that the arranged marriage itself already does SO MUCH to change the trajectory of the Uchiha clan’s fate for the better that, basically, everything else after that is kind of a bonus. The fact that Shikako’s smart and powerful and a good person is NICE, yes, but just being engaged to Sasuke already earned so much approval from the clan as a whole that it’s just kinda… ehhhh…
Although… and this somewhat of a tangent to the prompt… it would be funny if… okay, let me set this up by saying: I don’t necessarily like Itachi as a character. When he was kind of a psychopath and apparently just murdered his entire family to test his power, that was at least a… strength of will or conviction that kind of resonated thematically. Like, what if Will of Fire goes bad kind of thing. Or the pressures of being clan heir, of being pushed too hard and too fast, would lead to a genius of violence snapping and using said violence. Then when it turns out he was given orders to murder his entire family and his one condition was that Sasuke would get to live is like… what the fuck dude. It’s both backtracking to make Itachi weaker as a character and also, somehow, even more of a psychopath in my opinion. And, like, sure, Danzo maybe used Shisui’s Sharingan to unbreakable genjutsu him into it, but I don’t think that really absolves Itachi.
All that being said, theoretically in this kinder world of Road One, we never get to that point. Additionally, there’s less pressure on Itachi to continue to excel SO OVERTLY since the clan isn’t getting isolated and also because Shisui is still there and alive to share the burden.
BUT, I do still… the idea that the Uchiha elders have been wanting one of the clan to become Hokage is something that I hold to be true unless proven otherwise. I do think the clan elders would push more for Itachi to be Hokage—because he is clan heir and so has the pedigree, while Shisui (just as powerful, literally Flee On Sight in the bingo books at such a young age) I think we’ve fandom agreed is an orphan or at least a lesser branch of the Uchiha clan.
Anyway, all of the above leads me to: Shisui and Itachi trying to PR campaign for their sister-in-law Shikako (who WILL be an Uchiha once the marriage actually) to be the new “best candidate” for an Uchiha Hokage. Like, really just them listing off all of her accomplishments to not only the Uchiha elders but the rest of the clan (who, again, already quite like her).
I also think, in this universe, that Shikako would DO SOMETHING about Sora-ku once she feels a little more comfortable making decisions—or, at least, making proposals with attached logistics—for the Uchiha clan. Like. It’s a huge chunk of territory that seems to be an abandoned city. But it’s apparently functional enough to have a community of sorts of black marketeers and a support system. Like, it’s not so out of the way of things that nobody bothers with it, which implies that it could be rejuvenated with the time and resources. I think I read a theory once that it’s because Senju used their skills to desertify the area so there just wasn’t enough food to support a city of that size. BUT, now they’ve got Shikako. And Shikako’s connections. Whether that is the ANY clan alliance or Tenzo/Yamato or upper echelons of Hidden Mist’s administration (Haku is an ice user, yes, but like he and Zabuza wouldn’t throw a squad of Mist nin with water nature to help with irrigation at Shikako’s request for free) or even the literal oasis creating ancient god Gelel.
So, you know, she’s more than proven herself to the world. And with the Sora-ku rejuvenation, already brought a level of prosperity to the Uchiha clan than they could ever imagine. “Shikako for Hokage” is not a hard sell for Shisui and Itachi whatsoever (and also, they do think Sasuke would be so happy as her First Gentleman/trophy husband)
Yeah, that’s kind of all I can think of for this prompt in terms of it being different than how the Nara clan or DoS canon clans for that matter would view her meteoric rise. Hope you enjoyed, anon.

shisaku prompt *
It just happened. They would pass each other in the streets, not notice it. Why would one of the best shinobis of Konoha notice a common civilian girl? Why would she look at him, busy as she was helping with her parent's business?
He has heard the gossip of a pink haired girl from Sasuke. Naruto had a crush on her, admired from afar. The son of the Hokage was a bit shy about approaching a civilian. It was okay, there were a bunch of other girls in his class.
Sasuke said she would blush every time he went to buy tea for their mother. It was in her eyes, the thing that interested him. The rest was boring; it was tamed, tampered. Her eyes carried a fire that Sasuke described as intriguing, but she was just another girl. He didn't have the time for her.
Years passed. The Haruno's shop closed after one of the many attacks to the village. Naruto would lament out loud the missing presence, wondering if she was okay. They were 12 years old, then they were 15 years old and one day, Shisui woke up to them being finally 22 years old.
He felt old and weathered. Time felt slow... Like it was crawling, waiting for something to happen.
Or someone to arrive.
The last member of the founding Senjus entered the gates of the Hidden Leaf under the blazing summer sun, the ground being annihilated under each of her powerful steps. Two presences trailed her proudly, but stayed back, equally watchful.
Minato had said that he wanted to retire, but he couldn't do anything yet— after all, the Hidden Leaf needed a new Hokage; Kakashi told them the whole conversation. Minato wanted to have a life with Kushina and Naruto, regretting all the time he lost, all the things he couldn't see, the chances he didn't take. He made the world a safe place for Naruto, but wasn't there for most of his childhood and half of his teenage years.
Jiraiya had said he knew the perfect person for the job. "He said it would take some convincing", Kakashi recalled, "but the council couldn't deny the candidate even if they wanted".
It didn't surprise Shisui that much to watch the third sannin barreling down the streets. She was their princess. In some way, she owned them.
It was the sight of a pink haired woman that made him falter. He watched her, like he could see both Naruto and Sasuke doing, as Tsunade presented her as her apprentice and heir. Both Shizune and Sakura were at jounin level, she had said with a smirk as the girls bowed. Sakura had a diamond on her forehead. She carried herself like she was a weapon. If he guessed, he'd say that her knuckles were wrapped underneath the black gloves. Short strands framed her face delicately, giving features to a name Shisui had heard before, but never did care to wonder about.
Now he knew that she had the most gorgeous green eyes Shisui had ever had the pleasure to meet. They were amused, a bit nervous, going from one anbu mask to the other.
Tsunade appointed Sakura to be properly tested and integrated into their ranks. If approved, she'd be given the seat of director of Konoha's Hospital. Shizune was to be Tsunade's assistant.
Shisui might have laughed, if he wasn't on anbu duty. They had walked, taken over, easy as that. No more lady drunk and bad luck, no more miss merchant beauty, daughter of the owner of the shop down the street.
Whatever they had waited for, Sakura was not it. Shisui couldn't say he'd miss the civilian girl that much: he was wishing to get to know the kunoichi in front of him.

Shisui and Momo having a chat!
This is for my Epoch au, a three way crossover with Naruto, MHA, and Miraculous. The general idea is that it’s very post post ghibli-esque apocalypse, where a long time in the past, something happened(probably something akin to Jurassic park) and dinosaurs were released across the globe. Humans managed to collect in protected cities in glass pods, which eventually evolved into their current form, still cities in glass pods, but now arranged in pod groups with a protected area in the middle for farming and raising domesticated animals without the threat of dinosaurs. Or as much threat anyway. The cities are protected by magical girls(not actually always girls, that’s just the job title, like fireman).
Shisui is a magical girl, and if you check his eyes, they have multiple white eyeshines in them while my typical eye style only calls for one, like in Momo’s eyes. This is because his eyes are actually augmented, the name for robotic parts. His hands up to his forearms and legs up to just above his knee are also augmented, but those aren’t visible because they’re pretty good at mimicking human skin. It’s much harder to mimic eyes, they always are a little oddly shiny. The wings are also augments, hooked into a spinal augment. They’re whats referred to as a bonus augment, something outside human standard. The red part of the wings is pure energy, which he can make look however he wishes. The red glowy thing in his chest is what powers all of this, a gem taken from a dinosaur and carefully chipped and carved into the right size and shape. It provides the magic to power all augments. It normally would just look like a red gem implanted on his sternum, but he is currently using it to make his outfit look like that. He’s actually wearing a simple protective bodysuit, which is standard for magical girls. They just generally like to make their outfits look more fun with magic. It’s manipulating light and energy. It does have an actual function, in that it can help shield them a bit better, and makes it easier to actively use the magic and shift it into other forms. Shisui specializes in what you would expect an Uchiha to expect in, making fire. He’s also quite skilled at boosting his own physical performance to make him significantly faster, as well as forming hard energy weapons using a similar technique to the outfit thing. Most magical girls cannot do all three methods of magic use with anywhere near as much skill as Shisui can, he’s just special like that. As one would expect from Shisui.
Now onto Momo! This also heavily involves Shisui, whoops, as you may note she is wearing an Uchiha symbol, and her clothes are also Uchiha colored. The navy in her shirt and pants matches Shisui’s navy. She is still a Yaoyorozu, for now anyway, her family is a small but powerful family in the noble class, the Uchiha clan, who leads the pod city they both live in are very fond of the Yaoyorozus. As such, Momo’s been promised her pick of the three heirs, Shisui(Mikoto’s nephew), Itachi, and Sasuke(sons of the current leaders) basically since she was born. She’s grown up with the three of them as well, so they’re all pretty good friends. She is closest with Shisui though. Technically Shisui should be out of the running as he is technically cast out from the noble class, but well, if Momo really wants to marry him, then nothing’s going to stop her.
To clarify on the Shisui is technically cast out, I have to mention a special tick of the noble class. Namely, that they consider augmentations to be a lower class thing. I’ll expand on the fashion bit in a second when I cover Momo’s outfit, but the thing with Shisui is that he ended up with an infection or something similarly bad in his eyes, they had to be removed. He didn’t want to be blind, so he elected to get augmentated eyes(they look like the sharingan right now, but he can turn that effect off and just make them normal black). The ‘correct thing’ according to the noble class would have been to just be blind and adapt to the new situation. Shisui said screw that, he wanted to see. So he was cast out. Which left him free to become a magical girl, something nobles are generally forbidden from being, as the nature of the job requires augments. He is over here living his second best life, it is only second best because Fugaku forbade him from becoming a courier magical girl, which would have been his best life. That would have been too risky though, cast out or not, he is still technically third in line and the only one left from his family line.
Now Momo’s outfit, so I don’t keep infodumping on the structure of noble society and how augments work. The big cut out on the chest of her shirt is deliberately exposing the sternum, the only place a gem can be placed. It’s basically a flaunt of not having augments. The noble class is more likely to have cut outs, while the commoners tend to just prefer plunging necklines to show off the gems, which come in a variety of pretty colors. There are clothes without the plunging necklines or cut outs, but they’re fairly uncommon, and usually if someone feels like covering that part of their chest they just wear an undershirt under their top shirt. Cut outs are less common in men’s clothing, but just because an entirely open shirt is more common. You do still see cut outs though, usually on married or engaged men to match their partner. The low slung belt is also pretty common, as is attaching feathers to it like Momo did. Feathers are a little more common on hats or in hairstyles, but Momo likes just wearing them either in the outfits, or on a belt. The feathers are red and blue for Uchiha colors again, although much brighter. They are dinosaur feathers, which are almost exclusively something for the noble class. They’re generally the only ones that can afford to have them. Some common families will have them, but they are either involved with dinosaur meat smugglers and the underground market for that stuff or they’re the families of magical girls, who can get dinosaur feathers very easily due to the fact that they come into conflict with them regularly.
The majority of dinosaurs are feathered, are all brightly colored, and males are usually sparkly when sexually mature. Yes the blue feather is sparkly, I’m sad its barely visible. The brighter colored a dinosaur is the stronger their magic is going to be, and in territorial and non-family based groups the shiniest and brightest dinosaur leads. Male or female, they tend to be equally bright even if males have more chance of being sparkly, iridescent, or another over-top effect.
Also can I say that Momo looks like a spaceship captain in that outfit. I swear that’s not the only vibes of the fashion of this au.
The other fashion vibes are pirate. It works better then you’d think.

«Thank you, that makes me happy.»
ㅤHow surreal it feels, to once more be able to use this adjective in relation to his mood without it being (a) a blatant lie or (b) out of sarcasm and ungodly amounts of sass. A sort of sentiment, happiness, joy, contentment cranked up to eleven, that Itachi still isn't sure he's deserving of - all truth be said. Surviving the battle with Sasuke was not something he'd intended on, let alone to be forgiven for what he's done.
And yet... matters are seldom black or white, aren't they?
ㅤHe is, obviously, still the same person, but he is not that thirteen year old child anymore. In retrospect, his appraisal refined by almost a further decade of life experience, Itachi can see [...metaphorically speaking, anyway] that, the same way there could never have been a linear solution to the tension between clan and village, there also cannot be a linear lens with which to interpret his choice; his actions; his crimes. For how much of it was, indeed, a choice? And how much of it was the only way out that was left to him, after Shisui's own maybe-not-choice?
An introspection that Itachi has yet to gather the courage to undertake.
ㅤBest not to linger, at least for the time being. Iruka has enough on his plate to deal with, and the [technically still] Uchiha heir isn't here to add to it. Now that he's demonstrated he can successfully read through even the most disgraceful of handwriting, he is, indeed, ready to work. Turns out to not be too dissimilar from evaluating reports by his former ANBU subordinates, back in the day - the main difference being that those brave souls had known better than to bring to their captain any report written in a less than near-perfect condition. ...Yes, maybe Itachi isn't the sort of boss any person would have an easy time with, he can admit this much.
ㅤWhich is why, when Iruka's kind warning comes, Itachi can't help the laugh that falls from his lips. «Noted. If nothing else, it'll be interesting for me to be on the other side of the intimidation equation, for once.» Yet another notion he'd used as second skin, all those years; intimidation meant people staying clear of his way and, in turn, staying clear of a very high death probability.
ㅤAfter making attentive mental notes on every procedure the teacher goes through [a very talented one, indeed, kind and patient and understanding, and later on Itachi will make sure to ask about the stages of Sasuke's education he's missed out on], he sits back beside Iruka and smiles gratefully once more. «That's very generous of you, and you have my gratitude for it. As long as baby-sitting me won't rob you of your own time nor be a burden, your company will be quite welcome, Iruka-san.»
ㅤThere is an underlying motivation to the sensei's offer, however, he knows that there is, but it's tricky to figure out. Satoshi's birdlike field of vision can only offer as much when it comes to studying a human's subtle facial expressions, after all. It's quite all right. They'll apparently have the whole day together, which means plenty of opportunities for Itachi to learn more about this gentle man. Assuming his usual formal stance, then, that of a true clan leader with his back perfectly straight and his motions as fluid as they are elegant, Fugaku's influence written all over his mannerisms, he reaches for the respective reports and gets to work. That and he throws in a very harmless question, just for the sake of satisfying his curiosity.
ㅤ«Is this something you now do often? Forgive me for assuming, yet I was under the impression you worked as a teacher only.»
maybe iruka's in a genjutsu.
he... doesn't think he is. he'd like to think that the world he's living in is, in fact, the reality. after all, for the first time in all of shinobi history perhaps, there is a union among the villages made possible by the conclusion of the fourth war. the same war naruto had helped won. naruto, who has grown up beyond being the mischievous kid pulling up pranks every other day. iruka would really, really like this to be the reality: because it means naruto isn't alone anymore. because it means he's recognised, and he's— happy, somewhat. fulfilled, iruka hopes. and that the village will, from now on, thrives.
and yet— there is some dissonance in witnessing the former defected uchiha here around the mission desk, writing a report through a crow summon. he's even turned around now, uchiha itachi, presenting whatever he's written with the sort of politeness that strangely has iruka tethered this entire affair as not-a-genjutsu-at-all, because that's certainly the sort of formal speech he'd expected from members of konoha's noble houses, fallen or otherwise.
well, when they're not being an asshole about ranks and their powers and all that, which he, too, is all too familiar with.
Tumblr media
iruka gathers the report, and he reads through both papers and it's—it's perfect, iruka thinks around an unexpectedly warm smile. had he been the other's teacher, perhaps iruka would even say he's proud. or maybe he's simply thought of sasuke, a long time ago, when he still had the boy as one of his students. sullen, unhappy sasuke. iruka's heart clenches a little. should've he had done more before ? could he have done more ?
he shakes the thought, and smiles at itachi instead. ❛⠀you did well, itachi-san. although good for you, you've no need to write anything so thoroughly like this. ❜ iruka then proceeds to fish out a few documents from the rejected pile. he begins to sit down, explains to itachi one-by-one on why they'd rejected one report to the next, what itachi could look out for when he begins receiving report after report. one shinobi had forgotten to write a whole entire section. another didn't elaborate well enough. the next one barely had legitimate handwriting.
❛⠀they'll try to intimidate you, because no shinobis like being told 'no' in case it's incomplete, but it's important to stand your ground. ❜ iruka told itachi next, before proceeds to direct the other man into the sorting pile. here's the assorted missions from rank A to D. S-ranks are always directly reported to the hokage, so we wouldn't be finding them here. then to the part of the office where they'd store already-accepted mission reports, and where finance would typically sort them to compensate the correct shinobis before it's moved to archives.
Tumblr media
❛⠀i hope you wouldn't mind me sitting next to you the first day, itachi-san. ❜ iruka takes his seat, scratching at his nose, half-embarrassed. and he hopes the other shinobi wouldn't take this as iruka undermining his skills as jōnin-level above would tend to do, it's just ... iruka couldn't predict how other people would react being around a former traitor, and he just—he couldn't stand bullies, okay?

something old, something new - Shisui/Itachi
Summary: Nothing brings people together quite like a wedding. Non-mass AU
Word Count: 4417
Author’s Note: this was written for ShiIta Week a good while ago and I realized I never posted it here oops
-----
Itachi gazes silently at his reflection in his mother's vanity, and wonders if he looks any different. He thinks he should, seeing as today he's getting married.
He's heard all the stories of blushing brides, and a certain glow that couples share on their wedding day. Excitement and nerves both rush through his veins in a heady combination that makes his heart pound, but Itachi doesn't think it makes him glow. He looks a bit ill, actually.
From the open window of his mother's bedroom, Itachi can hear the steadily-building murmur of conversation and laughter, as members of their family arrive ahead of the planned procession to the Naka Shrine. His thin fingers move of their own volition to grasp at the necklace that sits in the hollow of his throat, twining his fingers through the thin leather. The cool metal of the triple rings is a grounding touch, as he tries to swallow down his anxiety.
"Second thoughts?" His mother's voice interrupts, Itachi glancing at her in the mirror. Mikoto is lovely in her pale blue kimono, grey-streaked black hair twisted into a bun at the back of her neck. Her reflection smiles softly at him from her spot in the doorway, a wide and flat box held in her arms.
"Never," Itachi answers immediately. And he isn't, not at all. But to declare himself and his love for Shisui in front of the clan and all their friends - it's a daunting challenge. He isn't the type to be quite so public about his affections, much more comfortable to show Shisui his devotion and care in the privacy of their own home. It had taken months of slapped hands and his face on fire to even accept the chaste kisses Shisui loves to plant on his cheek. And now, to speak aloud his fondness and sentiment with hand-written vows in front of a crowd -
His face flushes pink, dark eyes drawn back to his own reflection.
"Does there have to be quite so many people?" Itachi asks his mother, pushing back the wide sleeve of his kimono to reach for the small stick of eyeliner that sits next to all manner of makeup and creams, most of which his mother have already applied to him.
"The clan heir is getting married. We have to stand on ceremony for that," Mikoto replies with a soft sigh, placing the box down on the bed. Her fingers trace over the top, an indulgent smile curving her lips. "The ceremony will go by quicker than you think. And then you'll forget about everything other than how full your heart is."
Itachi hums under his breath, tongue peeking between his lips as he leans forward, nose almost pressing against the cool surface of the mirror. Shisui had spent hours teaching him the proper way to apply the kohl to his lids, the trick to winging it out to make his eyes look large and bright. He felt a bit silly at first, holding a stick of makeup the same way he wields a kunai, but he can't deny how lovely it makes him feel. He thinks he might understand his fiancé's attachment to eyeliner now.
Fiancé. Soon-to-be husband. Itachi feels his stomach tighten, and doesn't bother to suppress the smile that curves his mouth, his hand steady and sure as he darkens his waterline.
Mikoto bustles about the room behind him, humming an old song as she flits from the closet to the en-suite bathroom and back again, the bed slowly filling with generous amounts of silk and expensive accessories. He recognizes the fan he will hold during the procession to the shrine and for photos - a lovingly hand-painted sensu decorated with carnations and ume that had been among the gifts from Shisui's mother for the occasion. The fact that they would both be using a sensu instead of an uchiwa is an irony they had laughed about just the night before. Next to it sits a pair of wooden sandals and tabi socks, and thick pleated pants he would be wearing over his kimono. Itachi pauses on his second eye to arch a single brow, turning in his seat to watch his mother.
Her hands smooth over the box that still sits in the middle of the mattress, bottom lip caught between her teeth. Feeling his eyes on her, Mikoto glances up with a tight smile.
"I have a couple of gifts for you. Well - one from me, and one from your father."
Itachi's brows reach his hairline. "From otosan?" He doesn't bother to hide his shock, staring at his mother dubiously. It's no secret that he and his father have never been particularly close - Fugaku's pride for Itachi's prodigious talent as a shinobi often painting him as more a stern mentor than doting parent. Add to the fact he had only grudgingly accepted Itachi's union to Shisui - you need to have children still echoes in his ears; always more concerned with the future of the clan than the happiness of his sons ... Well it, frankly, mystifies Itachi. He tries to hide his reaction in turning back to the mirror, finishing off the wings of his eyeliner.
Mikoto's face falls, as if sensing her son's thoughts. "I know he's - well, the way that he is. But he loves you, and he loves Sasuke. I think he's finally realizing that he never showed you, though, now that he sees you're about to move on to the next stage of your life."
Itachi isn't sure what to say. There is deep-seated bitterness in his heart when he thinks about his father, and the way he had largely ignored Sasuke in favor of putting more pressure on Itachi. His hand tightens around the eyeliner, swallowing down his sudden frustration. If Fugaku had offered an olive branch, on the day of his wedding no less; well, Itachi supposes it deserves a fair chance.
He takes a steadying breath, wordlessly nodding at his mother. Mikoto's smile returns, and she leans down to pull the top off that mysterious dark box. Itachi cannot quench his burning curiosity; satisfied with his handiwork, he places the liner back down on the vanity and turns in time to watch his mother part a thin sheet of tissue paper. She pulls free a long piece of fabric, shaking it out before holding it tight to her chest, her gaze far-away and her smile bright. Itachi can see that it is a haori, from the drop of the sleeves and the Uchiha fan sewed against the sleeve. He knows without looking that there are probably four more crests decorating it, which would mean -
"It's the one he wore, on our wedding," Mikoto explains in a low voice, confirming his guess. Itachi sucks in a breath, hand moving to tangle instinctively in his necklace.
To wear his father's haori, it just - it isn't done, not in a family like theirs. Not amongst men who barely hold a conversation that doesn't devolve into an argument. Not when it had been drilled in his head since infancy that appearances are everything; they are the family of the Uchiha clan leader, they must always act with poise and look their best. And, in a wedding's case, everything must be bold and expensive and new. To show their station, their elegance, and their wealth.
A faded haori, with frayed sleeves and a size too large for Itachi's thin frame, worn on the day the clan heir would be wed. It's unthinkable. But it sends quite the message, from father to son. It's personal; the sentiment and care behind such a thing isn't lost on Itachi, and he finds himself nodding, too struck by something warm in his chest to speak.
Mikoto's eyes brighten with tears, and she swiftly waves her hand at him with a watery laugh. "Mothers are supposed to cry during weddings. Come on, I'll start on your hair." She makes no further mention of the haori, instead lays it on the bed gently, her fingers caressing one of the five Uchiha crests embroidered on the dark fabric. It gives Itachi a moment to compose himself, blinking away his rush of emotion; he makes a mental note to speak privately with his father, when time permits.
Mikoto discreetly wipes at her wet eyes and takes a steadying breath, before moving to stand behind Itachi. He leans back into her with a small sigh, eyes falling shut as Mikoto's fingers card through his hair. It feels wonderful, and brings memories of him being waist-high, his mother's hands warm and gentle as she pulled his hair into a low tail.
"Keep your eyes closed," she says after a moment, "I don't want you to see yourself until everything's done."
There is silence after that, as Mikoto works with practiced fingers. She combs and parts and twists his hair effortlessly, tongue peeking out between her lips as she concentrates. It gives Itachi the opportunity to ruminate, his thoughts moving from his father's unanticipated act of care, to the man he'll be sharing his life with, in just a few hours.
Not a lot will change, he suspects with a secret smile. He and Shisui had been intertwined since childhood; though love and romance had come much later, they had already been entrenched in one another for as long as Itachi can remember. They live together, they love together. Once Shisui is his husband -my husband, he silently mouths to himself, eyes still firmly shut so he doesn't see Mikoto's knowing smile- then all that's different will be the twin rings worn on their hands. Shisui will still be an aggressive cuddler in his sleep, will still be the one to make breakfast or darn Itachi's socks. Itachi will still roll over in bed and bury his face in Shisui's neck, will still have the uncanny ability to know when Shisui had a long day and start a bath for him.
Only now, it'll be Itachi's husband he's running a bath for. Shisui's husband is talented in every way except sewing his clothes. Husband. Husband. Husband.
Itachi finds he doesn't mind that. Not at all.
Even without opening his eyes Itachi can feel his mother's smile, especially in the gentle way she braids his dark hair, twisting it into a bun on the back of his neck. A sudden thought springs to his mind, and he parts his lips to speak.
"What about yours, okasan? Your gift?"
Mikoto chuckles, moving the spinning stool he sits in to face her. His eyes flutter open, looking to his mother's smiling face.
Without warning, Mikoto reaches out to tap him in the middle of his forehead. Itachi startles, brows pinching together as he makes a noise low in his throat. His mother only laughs, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of his head, before moving towards the bed.
"I meant to give this to you earlier, but with all the wedding planning it's been a bit hectic," she says, picking up a small golden box from beside his father's haori. She brings it to him, Itachi taking the surprisingly heavy box with an arched brow.
"I saw it and thought it would look beautiful on you," she adds, almost shyly. Itachi tilts his head to the side, before pulling the box open.
Nestled amongst origami flowers sits an elaborate kanzashi. The two-pronged hairstick is polished black, decorated at the end with a thumb-sized dark red plate, the metal crafted to resemble an uchiwa. Delicate chains fall like water from the rounded plate, decorated with impossibly tiny bells and little red flowers. Nestled beneath it is a matching black hairclip, with fabric expertly folded to resemble ume flowers, in a lovely shade of sharingan-red.
They're stunning, and Itachi looks at his mother with wide eyes. He had never received a gift that wasn't combat-related; and whilst he's never been particular about his looks, he's already fallen a little in love with the kanzashi.
"Thank you, okasan. It's beautiful," Itachi says, smiling. Mikoto looks as though she's about to burst into tears at any moment, waving her hand at him and swallowing audibly. Without a word she lifts the hairstick and clip, moving to affix it to his hair.
With a final deep breath, Mikoto steps back and brings a hand to her mouth. "Oh, Itachi," she whispers, once more blinking away tears, "you're going to break hearts."
Heart-breakingly beautiful is a phrase he'd never imagined to be said of himself, so it is with a healthy amount of doubt he turns to look at the mirror. And stares.
Itachi gazes at his reflection, lips parting. He had never considered himself vain -Shisui would disagree, claiming Itachi loves his hair more than him- yet he cannot deny that his mother's efforts had turned him into something quite beautiful.
His long hair is braided on the side, pulled and twisted back into a low bun. The kanzashi is pushed through the bun, with the metal uchiwa sticking out just past his ear, the chains hanging down his neck. The flowers catch the light, bells tinkling musically with his every movement. The other kanzashi is clipped along the opposite side of his head, curving over the bun and above his ear.
Itachi looks at himself with wonder, tilting his head this way and that to make the hanging bells chime; he has that sought-after glow, he thinks with a breathless laugh. The kohl makes his eyes look brighter, which in turn eases the severity of his tear troughs. There is a dusting of pale red blush on the smooth cream of his cheek, and his mouth is delicately painted with a light shell-pink. He looks like his mother, he realizes suddenly. Stunningly beautiful, and Itachi finds he doesn't mind the femininity of it. Rather likes it, in fact; his smile shifts to something wry when he imagines the look on Shisui's face when he sees him.
He doesn't have to imagine for too long, it turns out.
Itachi turns at the sound of a rushed knock on the closed bedroom door. He shares a look with his mother, her brows furrowed, before she goes to open the door. She makes a surprised noise low in her throat, pulling the door closed to prevent whoever knocked from looking inside.
"Shisui," Mikoto says, her voice warm. Itachi sits up straighter, his breath leaving him in a quick gust. "We're almost done, should be out in a few minutes -"
"Sorry, okasan," Shisui interrupts with a nervous-sounding laugh. "But there's kind of an emergency. Nothing bad! Just, well, another case of Obito sticking his foot pretty far in his mouth. About Sakura."
Mikoto goes still. "He did notice she's pregnant, right? And that her temper has been...Well..."
As if on cue, from the open window there comes the thunderous crack of what Itachi thinks might be a tree trunk. And if he knows his otouto's wife, that very well may be the case, pregnant or not. The hushed voices of everyone gathered outside goes silent, and Itachi lifts himself from his chair.
"I'd really rather nobody die on my wedding day," Shisui breaks the silence with another nervous laugh. The comment makes Itachi snort, reaching to pull on his pleated hakama.
Mikoto makes a frustrated noise in her throat, before turning to step into her sandals. She looks up at Itachi -now fully dressed, save for the haori- who simply nods, and his mother opens the door.
Shisui stands on the other side, tall and broad and oh, Itachi feels himself fall just a little more in love at the sight of him. His kimono is long and black, hakama a solid charcoal gray. His haori is lined with a bright pattern of ume flowers and crows in flight, a pale cord tying it together across his abdomen. Itachi swallows thickly at the sight of him so put-together, though he is silently relieved when his gaze wanders to see Shisui's errant curls have been left to fall haphazardly across his forehead. From here, Itachi can see the glint of metal hanging from his ears, and laughs quietly to himself. The cascade of the silver bar tipped with red flowers match his kanzashi perfectly, and Itachi knows without asking that they must have been a gift from his mother.
Shisui's kohl-lined eyes shift to look over Mikoto's shoulder, catching sight of Itachi. He can't help but preen silently as Shisui's eyes go wide, his hand shooting out to grab at the door for balance.
"Itachi." Shisui breathes out his name, barely above a whisper. His face has gone red, free hand coming up to cover his mouth. Itachi offers a small smile, feeling suddenly shy as he inclines his head towards Shisui. The bells on his kanzashi chime.
The moment is broken by a sudden shout of "SHANNARO!", spurring Mikoto to shove her way past Shisui, muttering under her breath. Before she disappears down the hall, however, she points a finger into Shisui's chest.
"Behave," is all she says before she's gone.
Shisui still hasn't pulled his gaze from Itachi, and it makes him want to fidget under such a heavy stare. Achingly slowly, Shisui takes a small step, and then another, until he's inside the bedroom, pulling the door closed behind him. When he speaks, he sounds almost pained.
"You are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," Shisui manages to breathe out, his expression filled with wonder.
Itachi laughs, breathless and musical. "Funny, I wanted to say the same thing about you." His throat feels tight, as the sudden realization of what they're doing hits him with full force. They're getting married today; he's going to marry his best friend, they're going to be husbands. This stunningly handsome, ridiculous man is in love with him, and they're going to get married.
Itachi doesn't know whether he wants to laugh or cry. He's overwhelmed out of blue, but overwhelmed with happiness and love and fuck he wants to kiss Shisui right now.
Something in his expression must shift to reflect his thoughts; Shisui's eyes begin to darken and before Itachi can even take a breath he finds himself pressed up against the wall. Shisui's hand cradles the back of his neck to keep the kanzashi from getting crushed, his hips pinning Itachi in place. When he instinctively gasps Shisui is there to swallow the sound, warm tongue licking into his mouth. Arousal pools, hot and heavy in his stomach, as his hands reach up to fist in Shisui's hair.
"You," Shisui growls against his mouth, speaking in-between heated kisses that make Itachi's head swim, "can't possibly call me beautiful, when you stand there, looking like that -" Shisui breaks off with a groan, hand tightening on the back of Itachi's neck. "I would worship at your feet if you let me, Itachi, you're so fucking beautiful it breaks my heart -"
He cuts himself off with a hiss when Itachi's nails dig into his scalp, Shisui snapping his hips to grind himself against him. Itachi feels dizzy with the sensation, doubly so when Shisui moves to kiss at his throat with teeth and tongue.
"Do we - do we have time?" Itachi somehow manages to stutter out, feeling his cock pulse at every nip from Shisui's mouth. He's already needy, already desperate; kami he wants this, wants Shisui, wants his husband -
There's the distinct sound of wooden sandals coming up the hall, and Itachi barely stops himself from slamming his head back against the wall in frustration. His face heats as Shisui pulls away with a final parting kiss to the underside of his jaw, moving to run a hand back through his hair.
Itachi's smirk is wry at the sight of lipstick smeared across Shisui's mouth, shooting the other man a wordless wink when he meets his eye.
"I'll see you at the altar," Itachi whispers, leaning up to press a kiss against Shisui's cheek, just as the door opens.
"I'll be the one in gray," Shisui whispers back, stopping to cup Itachi's cheek, grinning widely.
Itachi snorts a quiet laugh, shoving his hand away. "Idiot," he says, tone warm with affection. Shisui passes Mikoto on his way out, the woman arching a single brow at Itachi, who does nothing but shrug. He moves back to the vanity, and works on fixing his mussed mouth.
Mikoto heaves a put-upon sigh, reaching for his father's haori. "I was gone for two minutes, and suddenly I've got a pair of grooms with lipstick stains."
"Odd, how that happens," Itachi replies with a hum. He effortlessly dodges the sandal that she throws at him.
-----
When he's dressed and ready, the afternoon passes in a blur. He greets everyone with a small smile, endures the fawning, and smirks at the sight of Obito's black eye. There isn't time to stand and chat, not when they have a wedding to attend; Mikoto ushers everyone into the compound like any hardened general, and the procession to the shrine begins.
Shisui stands tall and handsome at Itachi's side, grinning at passersby, waving and shouting "I'm getting married today!" to anyone who will listen. Itachi does his best to hide behind his fan, a deep flush ever-present on his pale cheeks since Shisui had insisted on holding his hand the entire walk to the shrine.
Their parents lead the large group, Mikoto and Shisui's mother, Sumiya, whispering with wide smiles. Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura all trail directly behind Itachi and Shisui, with the remainder of their immediate families and closest friends taking the rear. It isn't an especially grand procession - the ceremony itself is private, the reception set to host the remainder of their large families and friends of friends. Itachi is once again reminded of who he is, and sighs internally at the fact that the entirety of the Uchiha, as well as the biggest names in Konoha, will be attending the reception of the Uchiha clan heir.
Before he knows it they've arrived at the Naka Shrine, and everyone Itachi has ever loved sits together and watches as he and Shisui step up to the altar.
His hands tremble as his gaze wanders to silver rings that sit in wait to be exchanged. Itachi feels only a little guilty at the fact he largely ignores the prayers and blessings and beseechings the priest offers; he thinks God will forgive him easily enough, he'd been in love at some point, too.
His heart hadn't returned to a normal rhythm in what felt like hours, and when Itachi glances over at Shisui he nearly wants to burst into laughter. He has that large, boyish grin stretched across his face, all but vibrating in his eagerness. Itachi feels his chest tighten, and an all-encompassing wave of love.
With only a small amount of hesitation, Itachi reaches across the small gap between them, and takes Shisui's hand. Shisui immediately glances to him from the corner of his eye, offering a wink and a squeeze from his fingers. It's all the bravery Itachi needs.
They stand once the priest finishes speaking, facing one another with hands tightly clasped. Itachi can feel dozens of eyes on him, more daunting than any sharingan, and holds Shisui's hand hard enough his knuckles turn white.
"Just look at me," Shisui whispers, lips barely moving so none but him can see. Itachi feels himself nod, just a little, before glancing up to catch Shisui's dark eyes. "Just like that," he encourages, corner of his mouth twitching up, "It's only us. Just you and me."
Sake is poured and toasted to their families, and when they drink from the same cup Itachi's hands do not tremble.
-----
Their vows are kept simple, by virtue of Itachi threatening severe bodily harm if Shisui goes on a tangent about their love in front of an audience. Even so, Itachi smirks at the sound of Obito's sniffling when Shisui finishes his vows with a promise to never leave Itachi's side.
"Crybaby," Kakashi whispers, handing him a handkerchief.
If Itachi's eyes are misty too, well. No one says a word. He simply glares at Shisui's knowing smile, in a way that makes Itachi want to wipe it away with a kiss.
When their rings are finally exchanged, Itachi gazes down at the unfamiliar weight circling his finger and takes a moment to silently marvel. Not at the fact that he's married, but the fact that he already doesn't remember half of what just happened; all that remains is the flighty feeling of peace, and no little amount of excitement. Itachi pulls his eyes away to look up into a shock of tear-filled red eyes, Shisui's grin carefree and infectious.
"We're married," Shisui whispers, his hand tightening around Itachi's as his eyes spin to black.
"Yes," Itachi whispers back, conscious of the stares and hushed laughter from their family.
"You're my husband."
"I am."
"Wild."
Itachi's free hand rushes up to smother his grin, shaking his head.
"Idiot," he murmurs, voice tender with affection as he reaches to cup Shisui's cheek, thumb lightly brushing away any falling tears. Shisui gazes down at him with nothing short of awe, before leaning down to seal their union with a kiss.
As kisses go, it isn't one of their best. Their families erupt into whistles and laughter regardless, making Itachi's face burn. His teeth knock against Shisui's, both of them smiling too wide to properly keep their mouths pressed tight. It isn't too suave, and because of the tears it's a little too wet; but as Shisui curves a gentle hand around the back of his neck, holding him so tight they may press into one person, Itachi can't find it in himself to mind.
He's breathless, by the end. His hands are pressed against Shisui's chest, able to feel the thunderous pound of his heart. When they part Shisui presses his forehead to Itachi's, grinning widely, and turns them both to face their family as husbands for the first time.
Itachi remembers his mother's words, then, as he gazes from her tear-stained smile to the sea of his nearest and dearest family and friends. You'll forget about everything other than how full your heart is.
As with most things, she was absolutely correct. Itachi chuckles at the thought, his smile wide, as he and Shisui take their first steps down from the altar. Hand in hand, they walk together towards their future.

Sensu - a Japanese folding fan
Ume flowers - pale pink flowers, symbolizing love
Kanzashi - Kanzashi is a general term for a variety of hair accessories; in this case, an elaborate hairstick and hairpin.
Hakama - thick pants worn over a man's kimono
I did research on Shinto wedding traditions and I hope I was able to keep true to it! Even though I barely went into any detail about the ceremony itself lmao oops
To explain before someone inevitably comments on it: it's common practice in a lot of cultures and places to refer to your in-laws as mother or father, which is why Shisui calls Mikoto okasan. In Boruto, Naruto even calls Hiashi (Hinata's dad) otosan. I know for a lot of people the Itachi/Shisui ship is kinda sus because they could be directly related, so Shisui referring to Mikoto as mom might spark that incest flame. However! There is nothing in canon to suggest they're related, so I will continue to happily imagine these boys being in love.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but the "something old, something new" was the haori and kanzashi haha

Itachi remained quiet as his back collided with the wall not so gently, fragments of stone tumbling over with muffled thuds. First note to take on the opponent: quick to anger. Likely to be susceptible to emotional manipulation of some kind. Before further analyzing could be done, however, the young ANBU captain felt his heart skipping a beat.
Sharingan.
There was no mistaking the irises painted in the color of blood, three tomoes shaped like tears. Why did this person have access to his clan's most prized ability...? A fully developed one, as it was, and in both eyes. The only ever known case of the sharingan expanding beyond the clan was Kakashi, under very specific circumstances. Did that mean this boy was an Uchiha? No, that couldn't be... Itachi might not have known every single clan member by face and name, but his father had ensured he did know every one that had awakened their doujutsu. It was expected of him, as heir and future leader.
Itachi had yet to recover from the first gut-punch, when promptly came another.
Brother.
...What.
Again the possibility of nursing a concussion returned to him, because there was no way any of this was happening for real. Either he was concussed and hallucinating, or his opponent was concussed and speaking delirious non-sense, or both. Or it might just have to be the most powerful genjutsu ever known to men. Which, by rights, it shouldn't. Other than Shisui and possibly Fugaku, Itachi was hard-pressed to believe there existed someone who could put him under an illusion that he wasn't able to properly identify and dispel. But better safe than sorry, right? Forgetting chakra exhaustion in favor of a semblance of clarity, Itachi activated his own sharingan.
No traces of genjutsu to be sensed, as expected. The air was thick with fading chakra waves, likely a result of the confrontation between the two of them, but nothing out of the ordinary. What about the young man's chakra? First and foremost, he seemed to be presently running on fumes as much as Itachi himself. There were very strong elemental affinities to be found, fire and thunder, and... a sense of familiarity that Itachi, for the life of him, couldn't place. He'd sensed this person's chakra signature before, but not exactly the way it presently was; so hard to explain that he didn't even attempt. He knew this chakra, but how? Whom did it belong to? Blaming the day's events on concussions was quickly growing stale.
Even the facial features were oddly familiar now that he was paying attention, in that same vague manner. Based on looks alone, this person should be around 16-18 years old. Piercing gaze and somewhat sharp facial features that had yet to lose all the baby fat (Itachi, you're one to talk). Disheveled black hair in a cut that Itachi could swear he'd seen before. Who did it remind him of...? And, on the other hand, how did this stranger know him to the point of mistaking him for a brother? That, if nothing else, made Itachi awfully aware of the fact he'd at some point lost the customary porcelain, weasel-shaped ANBU mask. Just the cherry on top of the cake. How would he ever again have the face to scold a subordinate after such an amateur mistake?
The very disturbing thought of this person being a bastard son to either his father or his mother was the closest to a logical explanation Itachi could come up with. And, even so, it wasn't plausible at all; hell would freeze over before Fugaku or Mikoto fell to such dishonorable standards. There had to be an explanation, there had to be. He was just not realizing it yet. He just needed some more time, some more hints into the psyche and goals of this stranger. Breathing in, he prodded further.
"I have one brother, and he's safe back home." Given the time of the day, possibly already finished with classes at the academy. And possibly sulking at Itachi yet again, for once more not being around to walk him home. "Even if he was here, you would look nothing like him. My brother is an eight-year-old child."
Between the exhaustion and the cost of chakra it took to maintain the literal weather, Sasuke's Sharingan faded from the onyx black of his eyes, only to spur alive once more to such an asinine demand. Even in Itachi's dying moments, he held nothing but the audacity. He was on his last leg, his final card, and yet he thought himself mighty enough to host command over the little Uchiha? Sasuke didn't think so.
With another hard shove against the wall, Sasuke's crimson reds ran another diagnostic scan over Itachi, capturing his eyes ( holding him hostage, if needed ), then returning to his body. He was certain that the trauma exerted on his physical frame was what was causing him to hallucinate because this was simply not real. This shortened, light-weight body his brother had taken on was an illusion; a trick of the worn mind. Nothing more.
"Don't make demands of me, brother, can't you see that you've lost?" Sasuke spat, hand clutching tighter to the hilt readied at his hip," I don't know what sick trick you're playing me, or if you gave up on your genjutsu, but I'm not falling for it."
The little raven could almost laugh. Almost. The embers of humor burned at the base of his throat, but as the oxygen returned to his mind and his conscious returned to crystal clarity— the illusion didn't fade.
Cautious, his hand squeezed the now-tiny shoulder and upper chest where his palm pressed into the clavicle. He assessed the very real muscle. Even when his tomoes spun about their axis, forcing to dispel the jutsu that wasn't there, the body didn't budge into a flock of ravens. Nothing. Sasuke kept his grip firm ( just in case ), but his hand released from the hilt as he straightened his posture in speculation.
"Are..." he closed his lips, questions like wildfire within his mind," what's wrong here..."
It wasn't a question. Couldn't be. The truer question was if he was dreaming. Why did Itachi stop looking at him with that stupid fondness, in turn of this harden foreignness one glares into a stranger? That's really what tipped Sasuke's intuition. The skepticism was laying on thick within his knitted brows and narrowed eyes, like he can't decipher what sort of advantage this tactic would have other than incite confusion.

🥇🕜 sakura
Itachi and Sakura have been dating for two years. Itachi is a perfect gentleman. He pays for meals (when Sakura protests, he always says "it's an Uchiha thing. Besides, the Anbu pays him well and he feels better spending that money on her than himself.) He always offers her his coat when the night air gets chilly (despite his own hate of the cold). He always walks her home and kisses her goodnight.
And that's part of the problem. It never goes beyond a kiss. A year into dating and Sakura felt like she was ready for something more. She knew that Itachi was the one for her. They'd started discussing a future and a family and Itachi seemed very serious about both.
Sakura knew that the Uchiha were very traditional. But she was starting to get impatient. Itachi seemed to have no idea the kind of effect he had on her. His dark eyes, the way his lips twitched up when he was happy, his little secret smile that he shared with her like a private joke. The way her body reacted to him at the slightest touch, his strong hands lighting a fire in her core.
Sakura had started dropping hints about 6 months ago. She tried being subtle about it at first.
She invited him to have dinner at her house one winter night, then offered for him to stay the night so he didn't have to walk home in the cold.
Itachi took her up on her offer, doing the dishes for her before spending the night on the couch.
She invited him to watch a movie. She'd picked a steamy romance movie, lit candles and wore one of her more revealing tank tops with a skimpy pair of shorts and cuddled up close to him.
Itachi brought popcorn and paid perfect attention to the movie.
Sakura was at the point of tearing out her hair. More and more elaborate hints seemed to fly over his head. Itachi seemed bound and determined to move forward with their relationship at a snails pace.
Sakura was desperate. She'd resorted to Ino's suggestion.
"It's a trump card, Sakura. No man alive can restrain himself if you take him to help you pick out lingerie."
Sakura had been mortified at the idea at first but at this point she had no other options. She was starting to worry that despite everything, Itachi didn't actually find her attractive.
"What do you think about this one, Itachi?"
She was standing shyly just outside of the changing room. Her face was bright red as she stood in one of the more modest pieces that the sales rep had helped her find. It was a sweet baby blue teddy with a little frilly skirt that fell across the top of her thighs and some bows that sat scandalously close to her nipples. It had seemed a lot less intimidating than the more revealing red or black pieces that left little to the imagination.
Itachi looked her up and down with an appraisers eye, "It's very flattering on you, Sakura. But I'm not sure about the color." He turned to the sales person (who had not stopped staring at and trying to flirt with Itachi since the moment they walked into the shop.)
"Do you have that in any other colors?"
Sakura sighed. Maybe he really didn't find her attractive. It wasn't that hard to convince herself of. After all, Itachi Uchiha was the most eligible bachelor in all of Konoha. He had inherited all of the best features of the Uchiha clan. He had his Father's intense gaze, but his mother's softer features to even him out. His long locks framed his face, infinitely more manageable than Sasuke's unruly shock of hair or Shisui's wild curls. On top of his good looks, he was clan heir. That meant whoever Itachi married would have the same status and respect afforded to them, marrying right to the top of one of the most powerful clans in all of Konoha (not that Sakura particularly cared about clan politics, but she had heard plenty of girls fawning over daydreams of being "an Uchiha princess"). And she'd definitely heard her fair share of whispers when they passed by market stalls and girls glared after her holding his hand.
"She's nothing special. I bed he's with her out of pity."
"It's only because she's hokage's apprentice."
"Poor Itachi. His father probably arranged it to gain favor with Tsunade."
Could it be true? She knew the Uchiha worked differently. Strength was important to them. Maybe that was why Itachi had picked her. She was strong. The strongest person in the village, shy of his brother, Naruto and tsunade. He often praised her strength and skill, though he rarely called her beautiful.
Sakura felt crestfallen as she changed from the baby blue teddy into a lacy black bra and panty set.
He ended up buying her the teddy, although in a pale pink color instead of the baby blue. He also bought her an emerald green bra and panty set and the skimpy red body suit which Sakura had tried on in a hopeless attempt to get some kind of reaction from him, only for him to say how nice the color was on her. It was nice on her. That's what he said each time. Not that she looked good in it. Not that it made her look sexy or beautiful. The most he ever said about her was that she was cute. Sakura wanted to cry she was so frustrated and embarrassed.
She was quiet all through dinner at his apartment. He asked about her day at work, how things were going at the hospital, how her research on chakra pathway regeneration (something she'd started when she found out about the effects of the mangekyo sharingan from Sasuke) was going.
Sakura gave one or two word answers and spent most of the meal pushing food around on her plate.
"Are you feeling well, Sakura? I thought this was one of your favorites?" Itachi asked finally.
Sakura tried to put on a good face for him, "I feel fine, just a little tired," She said, forcing herself to take a bite. Itachi watched her for a bit, his dark eyes staring through her, but he let the matter drop. When they finished dinner, Itachi picked up the plates and took them to the kitchen to wash them. Normally Sakura would have joined him, taking the towel to dry as he washed, but instead she went to the couch and just sat there, trying her best not to cry.
She wasn't sure how long it was before Itachi came and sat down beside her. She couldn't bring herself to look at him, although she could feel his eyes boring into her.
They sat together in silence. Sakura tried to swallow the lump in her throat.
"You...you don't have to stay with me, Itachi. It's ok. I understand." Sakura said in a small voice. Silent tears begin to streak down her face.
"Sakura, what are you talking about?" Itachi sounded incredulous. He reached out for her but Sakura shifted away from him on the couch.
"Look, I get it, alright? I know you're only with me because of Tsunade and your family and...and I just...if that's the case, well...well I'd just rather you be happy. That's all I want, Itachi, is for you to be happy. So if you want to be with someone else, I understand."
The silence in the room was deafening as Sakura waited for his inevitable rejection.
He reached for her again, but this time when she tried to shift further away he caught her by the wrist. Ever so gently, he pulled her closer. He took her face in his hands. He used his thumbs to wipe the tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Sakura, Tsunade and my family have nothing to do with us being together. Where on earth is this coming from?"
Pain lanced through Sakura's heart, flaring into a defensive anger as she struggled to pull herself from Itachi's grasp.
"Then why the hell are you toying with my heart? You clearly don't find me attractive, so what the hell do you want with me, Itachi!" she shouted.
Itachi released her and Sakura pushed herself to the very edge of the couch, her chest heaving, silent sobs ripping their way through her.
Then Itachi reached for her again. He slid next to her, wrapping his arms around her and hugging her tightly into his chest.
"Sakura, I am incredibly attracted to you. You are stunning. You are, by far, the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. What in the world would make you think that I'm not attracted to you?"
Sakura shook her head. He was just saying that to cheer her up. He didn't really mean it. He couldn't really mean it.
"Please don't lie, Itachi. It's fine, I know I'm not as pretty as Ino or Izumi. I don't need you to pity me."
Itachi grabbed her chin, forcing her to look up into his eyes, "I'm not lying, Sakura. I would never lie to you. Fuck do you have any idea how beautiful you are? How many times I find guys staring at you as we pass? How fucking sexy you look in a regular dress much less those skimpy little things you were trying on today?"
Sakura tired to look away, but Itachi wouldn't let her shrink back. So instead she closed her eyes and gnawed at her lip.
"You barely blinked at anything I tried on. How am I supposed to believe you?"
"Sakura, you seemed nervous when you asked me to go shopping with you. I didn't want to make you feel any more self conscious. I didn't want you to regret asking me to come with you. Do you have any idea how badly I wanted to pin you to the wall and rip off each outfit you tried on? But I swore I would never take things farther or faster than you wanted. I wanted to make sure you were ready, make sure that you wanted more-"
Sakura's sobs stopped and then she was laughing. It was ridiculous. She couldn't believe any of it.
She smacked him on the arm, not hard enough to hurt, and shook her head, trying to catch her breath.
"You are a bastard, you know that." She said when the laughter finally died down. That earned her a confused look from Itachi, who waited quietly for her to explain.
"I have been trying to seduce you for 6 months, Itachi. Six months and you're telling me that you didn't have a clue what I wanted?"
Itachi opened his mouth to say something, then closed it, his brows furrowing together. She recognized the face he made when he came up against a tactical dilemma that he couldn't solve. She could almost see the smoke pouring out of his ears as his cheeks reddened as he struggled to figure out what he had missed in those six months.
Sakura shook her head, "Did you really not realize that, Itachi?"
His blush spread up to his ears. He shook his head slowly.
"Itachi, why did you think I kept inviting you to sleep over? What other reason could I possibly have for inviting you lingerie shopping?"
"I-" Itachi choked off the rest of his answer, just shaking his head, "This is what Shisui meant when he called me the dumbest genius he knows." He finally said lamely. He dropped his shoulders sheepishly, "Sakura I swear, I just didn't want to make you uncomfortable. I didn't realize-"
Sakura rolled her eyes. With the misunderstanding out in the open, Sakura decided then and there that she was done waiting and playing games.
"Shut up, Itachi," She said with a light voice, before sliding into his lap and kissing him hungrily. It only took Itachi a second to recover from his surprise and then he was kissing her back, his hands going up to tangle in her pink hair and trying to bring her even closer. She could feel his body's reaction to the kiss underneath her. Sakura felt that fire spring to life in her core, burning through her skin and setting her nerves on fire.
Her hands were at the hem of his shirt, tugging. Itachi broke the kiss for just long enough to pull the top over his head, tossing it to the floor. Then he leaned into her, pushing them both so they were lying on the couch with Sakura pinned underneath Itachi. Her hands were on his chest, stroking, exploring his muscular chest and back. She dragged her nails down his back and earned a pained hiss that quickly melted into a salacious moan that only made Itachi kiss her more hungrily. Sakura repeated the motion and Itachi let out a breathy fuck and he grabbed her shirt and ripped it off of her.
"Hey!" Sakura started to protest, but then Itachi's lips were on her chest, kissing the curve of her collar bone, nipping playfully at her shoulder, then kissing down to her breasts. His tongue flicked experimentally across one of her nipples and Sakura's back arched and she moaned loudly at the delicious sensation. She looked up at Itachi just long enough to see the wicked grin on his face before he turned his attention back to her chest, taking one nipple into his mouth and swirling his tongue around the sensitive skin while his hand trailed along her side eliciting a variety of gasps and moans from her. He kissed a trail down her stomach to the waistline of her skirt, then back up to give the same attention to her other nipple.
"Shit." Sakura gasped, squirming underneath him as need left her dripping wet.
"Bedroom?" Itachi asked her breathlessly. Sakura nodded and she felt herself being scooped up into his arms like she weighed nothing and then in a flurry of movement they were in his bedroom and he was placing her down on the bed. He quickly stripped off his pants and underwear, leaving Sakura gaping openly at the length between his legs.
Everything else about him was impressive. She shouldn't have been surprised to see that he was impressive in that area as well. For the first time she felt a little kernel of anxiety in her stomach.
"w..wait, Itachi-"
Itachi stopped before climbing onto the bed, his face dropping into a worried expression.
"Do you want to stop?"
"N-no. Just...Well..." Sakura could feel her face going red, "You'll be my first..."
What if she was no good? What if he was too big for her? What if they just weren't physically compatible? Self doubt bloomed through her and she started to close in on herself, but Itachi reached down and gently grasped both of her wrists and stopped her from covering herself.
"It's ok, Sakura. We can go slow. If you need me to stop at any point, just tell me. But I'm going to make sure you feel amazing."
The way he looked at her, the way his husky voice sounded filled with adoration and confidence pushed back the self doubt. Sakura took a breath and nodded.
True to his word, Itachi took his time, going slowly. He hooked a finger in her waistband on either side and pulled her skirt and panties down, leaving her exposed under his gaze.
"You are stunning, Sakura. You are so maddeningly beautiful." He whispered sweetly to her as he settled himself between her legs. He took her wrists and pulled her arms up above her head, grabbing both wrists in one strong hand and holding them there. Meanwhile, his other hand dipped down, trailing across her chest, then her stomach, down to her hips and then finally to the prize he sought. He trailed one finger across Sakura's slit watching as Sakura stiffened underneath him, her breath hitching at the new sensation.
The sharingan swirled to life in his eyes.
"What are you-"
Another stroke across her slit made it impossible to finish her question.
"I want to remember this, Sakura. You, us, this. I want to remember it perfectly. Forever."
His finger grazed her clit and Sakura moaned and tried to arch into his hand. Itachi pulled away, making her whimper in frustration.
"So beautiful. My Sakura." Itachi whispered.
My Sakura. She liked hearing him call her that. She liked the slight edge of possessiveness in his voice. Yes. She was his.
One finger dipped inside her and Sakura gasped again. The fire in her core roared to a raging inferno. Itachi gently worked the finger inside her, leaning down to kiss her. Soon he was adding a second finger and then a third, stretching Sakura open and searching for the sensitive little bundle of nerves at her core.
Sakura expected there to be discomfort as he filled her further and further. But instead all she felt was a pleasant pressure that was building to something and Sakura found herself wanting more than just fingers.
Finally, when Itachi was satisfied that she was ready, he removed his fingers and lined himself up with her entrance. He kissed her again, looking into her eyes.
"I love you, Sakura." he purred. And then he was inside her and Sakura's world exploded with the feeling of him inside her. He gave her a few moments to adjust to the fullness and then he was moving, thrusting in and out and at a pace that made it impossible for Sakura to think.
She tugged with the hands still trapped in his iron grip and he released her. An idea occurred to her and she dug her nails into Itachi's shoulder and dragged them down, scratching down his back the way she had before.
Itachi hissed and his pace picked up. He was driving into her more forcefully now. If he were anyone else, she would have thought he had lost control but she knew that even now, if she asked him, Itachi would stop without a moment's hesitation.
It was better than Sakura could have imagined. Sakura could feel something twisting knots inside her, tension building with each thrust until Itachi brought his finger down to play with her clit and she broke with a scream and clenched down around Itachi.
He slowed as she came. He let her ride out her orgasm, memorizing every line of her body, the way her face twisted up into pure bliss.
When he saw her starting to come down, he pulled out, leaning in to kiss her and took his hand down to his cock and fisted it a few quick times, finishing into his hand as he kissed her down from the high that he'd brought her to.
When Sakura could form words again, she found herself flustered and stammering out an apology. Itachi gave her a reassuring kiss on the forehead.
"Why on earth are you apologizing?"
Sakura bit her lip, her eyes dropping away from the intensity of the Sharingan, still blazing down at her.
"I didn't...You didn't...I wanted us to be able to finish together...I wasn't able to."
Itachi chuckled softly, "You don't need to apologize for that, Sakura. I told you, I wanted this to be about making you feel good, my sweet Sakura."
Sakura pursed her lips, "But-"
"If you're concerned that it didn't also feel good for me, then rest assured, Sakura. You made me feel amazing. You are amazing. And I cannot wait to fuck you again."
Sakura giggled. There was something about hearing Itachi using such vulgar language that made the warm glow Sakura felt intensify. As tired as she was, Sakura reached up to thread her fingers in Itachi's hair, pulling him close and nipping at his bottom lip.
"And next time, I'm going to show you that you are mine." she growled.

Title: the course of true love (never did run smooth)
Rating: M
Summary: A soulmate AU in which Itachi and Shisui aren’t soulmates, but love, as usual, finds a way.
Written for ShisuIta Week 2021 Day 4 Prompt: Soulmate AU
ao3 link
Chapter 1
Itachi feels the ground under his back – a sudden pain of fall resonating through his body, knocking the air out of his lungs. Wincing, he opens his eyes and draws in a sharp breath. Shisui is over him, the red of his eyes slowly fading to black.
“Looks like I win again,” Shisui says, “Are you alright?”
“Yes,” Itachi lies – he’s still a little dizzy from the fall, “One more match?”
“I don’t know about you,” Shisui smiles brightly, “But I most certainly need a break. Not all of us can be as relentless as you.”
Shisui leans forward, offering Itachi a hand to help him up. With a sigh, Itachi grips Shisui’s forearm firmly, letting Shisui heave him to his feet.
“Let’s get some water,” Shisui offers.
Itachi hums absent-mindedly, distracted by the way Shisui’s hot skin feels under his palm. Suddenly coming to his senses, Itachi realizes that his hand has lingered longer than it should and instantly releases his grip on Shisui’s arm, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks.
In truth, Itachi too could use a break – they’ve been sparring for hours now, since the early morning – but Itachi has always felt an almost painful need to show Shisui that he can keep up with him.
Itachi wipes his forehead with the backside of his hand, wicking away the sweat. Summer has finally come to Konoha, filling the air with warmth and light. Training on the hot days was harder but necessary – years of serving in the ANBU have taught Itachi that being prepared for any conditions is essential to the survival and the success of the mission.
Itachi and Shisui walk to the posts on the edge of the training fields, where they left their belongings. Picking up his water flask, Itachi takes a large sip. The water is warm, having sat out in the sun all day, but it still feels refreshing.
“Your last move was excellent,” Shisui smiles, wiping his mouth with his hand, “I barely dodged it. Who knows, maybe with a little more practice, you’ll be able to get me one of these days.”
“Are you afraid?” Itachi chuckles, taking another sip of water.
“I should be, shouldn’t I?” Shisui laughs softly, “You are a genius after all.”
Itachi rolls his eyes and brings the flask to his lips again.
“Itachi, hold still for a moment,” Shisui says suddenly, “You have leaves in your hair.”
Itachi hardly needs Shisui’s help, but he likes Shisui’s touch, so he does as he’s told. Shisui runs his fingers deftly through Itachi’s hair, making a quick work of the offending leaves. Itachi almost regrets that there aren’t more of them so that he could feel Shisui’s touch for longer.
“There you go,” Shisui smiles, pulling his hand away.
“Thank you,” Itachi murmurs softly.
“Oh, I’ve almost forgotten,” Shisui says, closing his water flask. Reaching into his bag that rests on the ground, Shisui produces a small, rectangular box, “I’ve got you these.”
A smile blooms on Itachi’s lips as he realizes that Shisui has gotten him sweets from his favorite dessert shop in the village.
“Why did you get me sweets?” Itachi frowns, accepting the gift.
“It’s almost your birthday,” Shisui grins widely.
“My birthday isn’t for another week,” Itachi protests as he unwraps the ribbon.
“That’s true,” Shisui shrugs, then meets Itachi’s gaze, “Maybe I just like to see you smile.”
Itachi hopes that the color brought to his face by hours of sparring is bright enough to hide the blush rising in his cheeks. As he opens the box, he’s almost overwhelmed with the lovely smell. He wants to try the sweets so bad, but he knows he can’t just yet – the hour’s getting late, and Itachi had promised his mother that he and Shisui will be home in time for dinner.
“It’s too bad it’s almost dinner time,” Itachi sighs, looking wistfully at the sweets.
“I won’t tell if you won’t,” Shisui smiles mischievously.
Itachi glances between his best friend and the sweets in the box. The temptation is too much to resist.
“You’ll have to eat some too then,” Itachi says, “Just so you’re also implicated.”
“You really thought this through,” Shisui laughs as Itachi offers him the sweets.
Itachi cannot help but smile as he tries the candies – they are delicious and taste of sweet cherry and vanilla. Itachi has always had quite the sweet tooth – if it were up to him, he could likely eat his weight in sweets. Itachi wants to thank Shisui for getting him the candies, but when he glances up at him, the words die on his lips as his breath hitches in his throat.
Shisui’s mouth is sticky sweet from the sugary glaze coating the candies. Itachi watches, mesmerized, as his tongue darts out to collect the sweetness, unfamiliar yearning rising in his chest.
Then Shisui shifts and the spell is broken. Itachi shakes his head, chasing away the strange feeling. <em>What has come over him?</em>
The sun is setting slowly over the village, painting the sky red and orange. Itachi doesn’t want to walk home – the exhaustion from having spent the day sparring finally catching up with him – but he knows that his mother will be cross with them if they are late.
“We should go,” Itachi says, “It’s almost time for dinner.”
Shisui doesn’t argue.
They collect their belongings, then take the short way to Itachi’s house. The Uchiha compound is quiet in the early evening hours – most people are at home having dinner with their families before bursting back out onto the streets to enjoy a warm summer night.
They walk side by side through the streets of the compound, and Itachi feels at ease – as he usually does when Shisui is by his side. When Shisui looks at him, he doesn’t see the clan heir or the ANBU captain or a genius shinobi – he only sees him, Itachi.
“I wonder what your mother has made,” Shisui says, distracting Itachi from his thoughts, “But then again, all her cooking is amazing.”
“You know,” Itachi looks over to Shisui, “You might be my mother’s favorite dinner guest – I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone as enthusiastic about her food.”
“Well then they must not understand anything about good food,” Shisui replies easily, “Homemade meals prepared with love are always the best!”
There is a wistful expression on Shisui’s face, and Itachi’s heart clenches. Shisui is an orphan – both his parents died when he was really young. <em>He must miss them so…</em> For all Itachi’s issues with his father, he is really grateful to have a family.
To distract Shisui from his thoughts, Itachi nudges him lightly.
“Maybe you should get married then,” he says, teasingly, “If you pick right, you could get all the homecooked meals you want.”
“And devastate half of Konoha?” Shisui laughs, glancing at him, “Such a cruel suggestion, Itachi.”
He knows that Shisui’s joking, and, yet, Itachi’s heart drops at his words – with Shisui’s good looks and charming personality, it was little wonder that so many were smitten with him. He knows he has no right to feel this way, and still, he cannot help it – he hates the thought of Shisui with someone else.
They turn the corner and find themselves outside of Itachi’s home.
“Itachi, is that you?” his mother calls from the kitchen as soon as they enter the house.
“Yes, mother,” Itachi responds as he and Shisui take off their shoes and head to the kitchen.
Mikoto’s standing by the stove, somehow tending to three different pots at the same time.
“Hello Shisui,” his mother smiles, glancing over her shoulder, “You two came just in time – the dinner is almost ready. You better be hungry – I’ve made way too much food or three people.”
“Very are famished and very excited for the food,” Shisui replies easily, earning an even brighter smile from Mikoto.
While Itachi’s father has always been somewhat apprehensive around Shisui, realizing, perhaps, that his primary loyalty was to the village rather than to the clan, his mother has always adored him.
“Is Sasuke not here tonight?” Itachi asks, frowning.
“He’s over at Kushina’s house,” Mikoto shrugs, “With Naruto.”
Itachi smiles – it’s good that Sasuke has friends his age.
“Do you need help with anything?” Shisui asks Mikoto.
“Just carry these to the table,” Mikoto nods at the few platters resting on the counter next to her.
They do as they are told.
The dinner goes well, and, as his mother recounts a story from her days as a kunoichi in response to Shisui’s amusing tale from the recent mission, Itachi finds himself wishing they’d have evenings like this more often.
“Itachi,” his mother says softly, distracting him from his thoughts, “You are unusually quiet today.”
“I’m just a little tired,” Itachi shrugs.
“I can only imagine,” Mikoto frowns, “You have been out training since the early morning without any rest. Training is important – but you two should take better care of yourself!”
Shisui shoots him a glance that can only mean, “I tell you that all the time.” Itachi rolls his eyes at him, saying without words, “Look who’s talking.”
They help Mikoto clear the table after dinner. Itachi lingers in the kitchen with his mother for a moment as Shisui heads back to the dining room to get more plates. Once Itachi puts cups into the cupboard, he turns around and notices his mother look at him intently.
“Mother, is something wrong?” Itachi asks, confused.
“No,” Mikoto shakes her head, “Not at all. It’s just that time flies so fast. I feel like only yesterday you were a tiny child in my arms, but not you are almost a man grown. To think that you are turning sixteen in a week – old enough to get your soulmate mark…”
“Mother,” Itachi interrupts her instantly.
Smile leaves Mikoto’s features, replaced by a concerned expression.
“Right,” she says, “I’m sorry.”
Itachi doesn’t want to talk about soulmates – especially not around Shisui. Everyone in the village had their soulmate mark appear on their sixteenth birthday, but, somehow, in a cruel twist of fate, Shisui never got one. Itachi always thought this unfair – Shisui was an incredible person and deserved to be loved.
Itachi remembers the day of Shisui’s sixteenth birthday all too well. Shisui was supposed to return from the mission late that night, but Itachi’s heart was fluttering with nervous anticipation, and he realized that he could not wait till the morning to see him. Instead, he got Shisui’s favorite cake and went to his apartment to wait for him there.
Time stretched slowly, and it was well past midnight when he’d finally heard the front door open. When he saw Shisui, Itachi felt a lump in his throat – his friend looked utterly exhausted, and there was a strange sadness in his gaze. Itachi’s never seen him look like that.
The instant Shisui’s eyes fell upon Itachi, his face lit up.
“Itachi!” he exclaimed, “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to be the first one to wish you happy birthday,” Itachi smiled at him.
It wasn’t technically Shisui’s birthday anymore since it was well past midnight, but Itachi thought it was close enough.
“Thank you,” Shisui breathed out, walking over to Itachi and pulling him in for a hug. Itachi’s heart fluttered in his throat as he buried his face in Shisui’s chest. Only one question was burning in his mind, but somehow, Itachi couldn’t find the courage to ask.
The thought of Shisui having someone else’s name on his skin burned his heart. Back then, he thought it was because they were close friends – after all, it was not uncommon for people who have just found their soulmates to spend time with them and neglect other people in their lives, at least for a while. Itachi always loved spending time with Shisui, so the thought of being apart from him was painful. It took too long for Itachi to realize that this wasn’t mere jealousy of a friend – that he’d been in love with Shisui all those years.
Once he had let Itachi go, Shisui headed to the shower, as he usually did after the mission. Afterward, they settled at his kitchen table and ate the cake Itachi brought. Itachi noticed a deep, fresh scar running up Shisui’s forearm, and his breath hitched in his throat – so close to the artery, it’s good that they had a medic on their team.
Itachi looked Shisui in the face, the question burning on the tip of his tongue. Finally, he could not handle the uncertainty any longer.
“So…” Itachi started slowly, “Have you…?”
Shisui met his gaze calmly, then smiled.
“No,” he shrugged, “I didn’t. Looks like I don’t have one.”
Itachi looked at him in stunned silence. Shisui’s tone was so casual that it seemed he was talking about the weather and not about not having a soulmate. Itachi felt conflicted – a part of him was overcome with sadness for his friend, but another, selfish part, was almost relieved. There was another feeling niggling at Itachi’s heart that he could not yet– now he knows it was the anguish of not being Shisui’s soulmate.
The next few days passed in a strange haze – Itachi was both terrified and hopeful that the mark could still appear. But days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, then years, and Shisui still never got a soulmate mark.
People were, of course, surprised and sympathetic – it was almost unheard of for someone to never receive their soulmate mark. Shisui was the pride and joy of their clan, and everyone was waiting with bated breath to find out who his soulmate was, and, when it turned out he didn’t have one…People haven’t looked at him the same.
It always angered Itachi – to him, Shisui was the most incredible person. What did it matter if there was no soulmate mark on his skin?
Dread rises in Itachi’s chest at the thought of his own fast-approaching birthday. Ever since he learned that Shisui didn’t have a soulmate, he has hoped that he, too, won’t get a soulmate mark. He didn’t need a soulmate mark to tell him who to love – for so many years, he’s only loved Shisui, only wanted Shisui. And Itachi would never let some stupid mark change the way he feels.
The thought of someone else’s name on his skin makes bile rise in Itachi’s throat. He wants to be with Shisui - or no one at all. He knows that Shisui – his selfless Shisui – will never be with him if he got someone else’s name, all in a misguided attempt to make Itachi happy. But what if being with Shisui is all Itachi ever wanted?
Itachi pushes the thoughts away – there is nothing he can do now, with his birthday still a week away. His exhaustion finally catches up with him, making him dizzy. His mother notices immediately and shoos Shisui and him upstairs to sleep.
They part at the top of the stairs – Itachi heads to his own room and Shisui to the guest quarters. When they were younger, they used to sleep in the same room whenever Shisui stayed over, but with time Itachi’s parents thought it more proper that each had their own space.
In his room, Itachi switches into his sleeping clothes and crawls into his bed. He’s exhausted, yet somehow, sleep doesn’t come. Despite the warm day, his bed feels cold, and he keeps twisting and turning, trying to find a comfortable position. Itachi gives up with a sigh, then gets out of bed and heads out of his room.
He knows he shouldn’t do this – not now that he’s realized that he has feelings for Shisui, but he cannot stop himself. Not when sleeping in Shisui’s arms always felt so safe and comfortable. He wonders briefly if it’s improper but pushes the thoughts away – when he and Shisui are together, nothing ever feels wrong.
Itachi finally reaches the guestroom and opens the door quietly. Shisui is lying on the futon, fast asleep, his curls strewn across the pillow, his mouth slightly open.
“Shisui,” Itachi murmurs, stepping into the room.
Shisui shifts slightly then opens his eyes.
“Itachi,” he whispers, voice hoarse, “Can’t sleep?”
“Yeah,” Itachi nods, then gestures at the futon, “Can I…?”
“Of course,” Shisui smiles, moving to the side, “Just don’t poke me with your elbow again.”
Itachi scoffs, crawling into the bed next to Shisui. They’ve grown quite a bit in the recent years – once upon a time, this futon was big enough for both of them to sprawl out without touching, but now they end up pressed close together. The warmth radiating from Shisui makes Itachi’s skin tingle as he shifts closer, leaning against Shisui’s side.
As soon as Itachi’s head touches the pillow, he starts to drift off.
“Comfortable?” he hears Shisui whisper against the crown of his head.
“Yes,” Itachi mumbles sleepily, “I wish it was always just the two of us.”
“Well, I’m not going anywhere,” Shisui replies softly.
With that, Itachi finally falls asleep.

@kagami--uchiha It's an idea that's been in my mind for a while, if I have to be honest.
I don't think it's really canon that the clan doesn't like Shisui, but I've read one too many fanfictions to care, and the fact that he's a 'black sheep', so to speak, choosing the village over the clan and not falling victim of the Curse of Hatred, has always led me to believe that he was never really particularly wanted in the clan, pushing him to grow up mostly alone.
At first, I thought it might have simply been because of Kagami. The Uchiha clan can be as petty as a brat and hold to grudges like a champion, and the fact that one of their strongest decided to work directly under Senju Tobirama might have registered as a betrayal of sort, because even if the Uchiha and the Senju created the village together they never really mingled much with the rest.
But I wanted a stronger reason, because it wouldn't make sense to hold Kagami's supposed 'betrayal' over his descendant's head, so I thought: What if there's more? What if Kagami choosing the village over the clan is only one thing in the middle of others?
I also once read a theory about Obito being half-Senju, and that being the reason why his body accepted so easily Hashirama's cells, and I thought "Wait, that could be it!"
So basically, in my mind, Shisui's mother was the one from the Uchiha clan, and had a relationship with a Senju even if the clan didn't approve of it, because she, being Kagami's descendant (probably daughter, I think), had a pretty strong Sharingan and should have married in the clan to breed an even stronger Dojutsu in future generations (classic conservative stuff)
She gets pregnant at some point (in my head, with Obito, since I hc he and Shisui as brothers) and she refuses to abort because she wants this child made with the one she loves, even if the clan Elders refuse to acknowledge that someone might have had a half-bastard willingly (in my head they convince themselves that she has been forced and coerced into it, because it's not me if I don't sprinkle a bit of angst and dark here and there)
And the clan keeps her and her two children (she also has Shisui at some point, of course) in the far-off chance that the two kids will eventually awaken the Sharingan, but they also don't consider them fully part of the clan, so they don't give them help after the mother dies.
Obito even more, since he's clumsy and not at all Uchiha-like and doesn't awaken the Sharingan until he's older, and when he does he gives one to a non-Uchiha, so the clan never speaks of him, like he never existed.
Shisui, on the other hand, a little bit less, if only because he awakens the Sharingan young and he's also probably the youngest one yet to achieve the Mangekyō, so the clan has a use for him.
It would give him the possibility to awaken the Rinnegan, because it is said that the Rinnegan can be triggered by mixing Senju genes with Uchiha genes (something Madara was probably counting on when he used Hashirama's cells on Obito), but I honestly don't know if the Elders would know about that.
Shisui would be very much used as the perfect little weapon after he awakens the Sharingan, because both the clan Elders and Fugaku together, who starts training him after Shisui awakens the Mangekyō since there is no one else with it that can teach him how to use it, convince him that he has to work three times harder to 'deserve' his place in the clan, effectively manipulating him.
I could go for hours about Shisui having a resentment for Kagami, or for his own mother. Or about Hiruzen slowly changing his mind by telling him stories about Kagami. Or about Danzō trying to get him under his thumb, because an Uchiha with Senju genes? Now, that's something worth experimenting on.
I could also go on a tangent about a dark ROOT!Shisui AU where Danzō uses him as a guinea pig to try and force the Mokuton to react to the Senju genes in him, effectively giving him such ability, but that's for another post and another time or I'll never end.
But, yeah, this would be the idea. Shisui is a half-Uchiha bastard who has been manipulated into thinking to be 'less' than a 'pure-blooded' Uchiha, and as such he has to work harder to deserve his place in the clan.
I also do think that he has been convinced that his life holds less importance than any other Uchiha, and that Fugaku has beaten into him (quite literally during training) that it's his job and duty to protect Itachi with his life and die for him if the situation calls for it, since the boy, as clan Heir, is much more important than him.
My Shisui has an inferiority complex that starts from here and reaches back here after stretching all around the whole world. If this boy had the possibility to beat me up for how much shit I put him through, I'd be half-dead by now 😂

Itasaku, for ask me a ship
Ask me a ship:
ItaSaku
Tumblr media
Who proposed the other first?
Itachi.
Itachi never does things in half. When he began seeing Sakura it was with intention to marriage. Had it been with someone within clan, he would have just informed his parents about the woman and they would have taken care of the rest. But it was Sakura and he knew enough about civilians that they expected some romance. Sakura never expected much from him but he knew she deserves it and more. He knew classic way was just kneeling and proposing marriage with flowers and an expensive ring, but he resorted to do things a bit differently. He got her an emerald ring with tiny rubies enclosing it, kneeled when she least expected him to – when they were having one of their rare fights – and asked her in his best stoic voice to marry him so they could fight more often. There was something about angry Sakura that pulled him in but he would never admit out aloud.
She did say 'yes' after a moment of silence. He wasn't anxious at all when he noticed she was trembling. Turns out, she was just containing her laughter.
Who kissed the other first?
Itachi.
It was a mission gone wrong. Sasuke's ANBU team had gotten ambushed and he had suffered the brunt of the attack in his attempt to protect his teammates. He was brought to Konoha, barely alive, considered a lost cause by even Tsunade, but Sakura being Sakura hadn't given up and put her everything into bringing Sasuke back to full health. It took one whole week of constant healing to stabilise Sasuke and that was the longest week of her life.
When Sakura came out of operation theatre and wordlessly smiled, tiredly but happily, at Itachi who hadn't left Sasuke's side since day one, he kissed her full on lips for a whole minute.
Who gives a good-morning kiss to other?
Itachi.
Like many things, it is hard to beat Itachi when it comes to waking up early. Sakura is a early riser herself because of her demanding job, but she wakes up only after Itachi no matter how much she tries to wake first to watch Itachi wake up. She likes to think he looks less than perfect like any other normal person.
Which is why she doesn't see how he wakes up with the sun to look at her imperfections and leaves her side with a soft kiss to her forehead that conveys all the love in the world that he hardly ever shows otherwise.
Who likes to play footsies?
Neither.
They prefer to play with their hands.
Who is the dominant one?
Itachi.
No surprise there, although he does allow his wife to show her dominance over him now and then. But between him and Sakura, it is Sakura who reigns the clan as their true leader.
Who likes to keep a picture of the other with them all the time?
No one.
Sakura has picture of Itachi in her office and Itachi keeps a seal on him that allows Sakura to direct her summons to him and know he is alive. When Sakura is on mission, he makes sure to send his summon to check on her from afar (because Sakura will throttle the crow and him if it isn't discreet in its spying).
Itachi might not look like he worries over Sakura to the public's eye, but they both know it is Itachi who is a mother hen.
Who likes to buy the other gifts?
Itachi.
He thinks jewellery suits her, especially the kind that adorns her forehead. If Sakura wasn't used to him paying special attention to her forehead, she would think he does it to hide it. He just really finds her byakugo seal perfect on her forehead.
He doesn't think twice before buying her expensive gifts that he knows she will hardly wear, if ever, but he can't bring himself to care. Sakura hates that Uchiha's are filthy rich.
Who takes initiative in making physical contact?
Itachi.
Who plans their dates?
He is a sap for Sakura branded hugs. He doesn't verbally ask her but Sakura knows him well enough to tell when he wants her to comfort him with her hugs and kisses.
Sakura.
She knows firsthand that if she leaves it up to Itachi, he will go to either Shisui or Izumi to assist him in making plans for their date. Then it wouldn't be a date but a disaster. She hadn't understood why Itachi thought an ideal date is one where you go to a ridiculously expensive restaurant and why he couldn't see how perfect it is with just two of them together. Later she realised Shisui and Izumi aren't exactly the best people to go asking for date advice and she told him as much.
Itachi thinks Sakura makes the best date plans in the world.
Who was shy on their first date?
Sakura.
Their first date had been a late-night dinner at a high-end restaurant. It was a surprise date. He did ask her to dress modestly but apparently his idea of modest and hers clashed like day and night. Itachi had fit right in, but Sakura was too busy fiddling with her simple green dress amidst people who wore expensive kimonos throughout the night to pay much attention to the date. It was the worst date of her life. Thank the gods, Itachi had noticed her uneasiness and asked her how he could make it up to her. They spent their time stargazing on the top of Tobirama's head for rest of the night.
Who wakes up the other?
Itachi.
As much as Sakura tries, she never manages to wake up before Itachi. There was this one time when she woke up to see him still in bed with her, it took her few minutes to rein in her happiness and took another 10 minutes to leave the room unnoticed after giving him a chaste kiss to lips. That had been one of the best days of her life. But what she doesn't know is that Itachi had been awake the whole time and he was feigning sleep because previous night she told him about her wish to wake up before him.
Who was shy in taking their relationship to next level?
Neither.
They only consummated their relationship on their wedding night. It was a tradition followed by the head family of the Uchiha clan. Itachi, being the heir of the clan, was no exception to the this. Sakura was only happy to follow because she always hoped to have a white wedding.
Who hogs up the blankets in their sleep?
Sakura.
Itachi sleeps like a dead man on the casket. Sakura is a hugger in her sleep. He never finds much use of blanket when he has Sakura for warmth.
Who is easy to get jealous?
Mostly Sakura.
Who cooks in the house?
If only for his amazing shinobi prowess. Her husband is just too perfect. What he couldn't make up with his aristocratic looks, he makes up with his skills and mind. Her only consolation is that she is physically stronger, far better cook and dancer than him.
As for his fangirls, they don't dare try anything with Itachi. They are all convinced his wife is secretly a demon that will hunt for their blood if they so much as glance at her husband wrong. As for her admirers, it is public knowledge that Sakura is off-limits and one should only approach her with platonic feelings lest they wish to be amputated.
Sakura.
Sakura thought she was a poor cook until Itachi cooked for her. For all his battle prowess, Itachi is a terrible cook. And dancer. But mostly cook. After he made her black omelettes for fourth time in a row for breakfast, she took matters in her hand and just asked him keep out of her kitchen. He sometimes insists on helping her cook, but aside from cutting meat into perfect pieces (with a kunai no less, because apparently there's no difference between a kunai and a knife) he is disastrous in everything else.
Who 'protects' and who 'nutures'?
Itachi protects.
Sakura nutures.

truth
/tro͞oTH/
noun
the quality or state of being true
Sasuke stays in Konoha, ANBU
Sasuke bites back a sigh, leaning back on his chair with crossed arms. Kakashi’s lone eye crinkles in amusement, making him scowl at his teacher, the man chuckling quietly.
His fingers rhythmically taps on the wooden table, unattentive to the elders exchanging their opinions on the matter, catching Tsunade’s eye. She smirks at him, before he drops his head down on the table, ignoring the loud voices of the elders screeching.
“Are we boring you, Uchiha?” Danzo’s voice asks, making him blink in annoyance, before smiling politely, sitting straighter. “Not at all, Danzo-sama.”
Kakashi’s masked lips turn upwards, his bastard of a teacher finding this amusing, even if he’s tempted to shunshin behind Danzo and rip the Sharingan embedded in his eyesocket.
“Then, do you have something to share to the table?” he asks, Sasuke humming, his thumb picking on the thread of the uchiwa symbol on his flak jacket before leaning forwards.
Danzo sees that as a sign to continue, before he links his fingers under his chin, sharp onyx eyes regarding the man. “Hn,” he says, before leaning down to get a stack of papers, gently placing it in front of him.
“I have something that I want clarification, if you don’t mind, Shimura.” he says calmly, his teeth bared and stretched to a smile. The bandaged old man closes his opened mouth before Sasuke slowly stands up, separating the stack to five folders, and passing it to Inoichi and Shikaku, the other clan heirs watching him from where they’re seated on the left of the room.
Inoichi glares at the paper as if it offended him, before Sasuke sits down once again. “I noticed you have bandages, what might have happened that caused that?”
“Second shinobi war.” The man stiffly responds before Sasuke leans back on his chair comfortably, pretending to look at his nails. “And the medics have told you to wear it ever since?” he asks, the elders glaring at him, shouting at how disrespectful it is.
“What am I to judge, it’s personal, so I won’t push it on you.” he murmurs, his quiet voice unusually loud in the room, even if he didn’t raise the volume. “I would, and will not have asked you, if it didn’t concern me, however.”
Shikaku and Inoichi stare at the other man, Kakashi and Tsunade mirroring them. “You broke a law, Shimura.” he hisses, “And I’m well damn sure that my clan doesn’t appreciate having their eyes getting plucked, nor seeing said eyes on your arm.”
The room quiets, the wind blowing across the room. Danzo stands in aggravation, before slamming his hands on the table, shouting, “I will not accept getting accused like this.”
“Well, you sure are proving you’re guilty then.” he says back, standing. “I have evidence, and you will stay seated until I finish my case, Shimura.”
Their attention snaps to his cold, steely voice, and the Sharingan whirring in his eyes. Inoichi, the kind man, places his hand on his arm, squeezing it to help him calm down before he sits back down, Danzo looking at him with a pinched expression, before following his lead.
“Hokage-sama, I believe my case needs to be heard, so that our members would understand.” Tsunade nods, the Godaime’s face morphed to an emotionless look, but Kakashi and Sasuke both know she would’ve let him, any chance.
He takes the file he gave to Inoichi before flipping it through, then handing it to Tsume Inuzuka, the woman’s eyes reading through the file, before passing it along to Chouza, the paper systematically moving to each clan head.
He licks his lips, before clearing his throat. “According to that file, that I have found in the Uchiha Archives in the compound, it is true that my clan planned a coup d’etat, and I am, in no way, approving or justifying their reasons, but I wanted to include this.”
The others nod apprehensively, before he shows another file containing the missing children. “As much of you know, a lot of children went missing, especially ones with the powerful kekkai genkai.”
There’s a collected silence across the room. “I, as a child, would notice that our clan specifically kept having clan members, ranging from children to jounin.”
He taps his foot, “This, of course, made our clan even more scared, as no one can or will listen to us because of the Kyuubi attack. You must understand, that we were placed in the outskirts of Konoha, and that even if we were the Police Force, we are overshadowed by the ANBU. In addition to that, the hatred and distrust on Uchiha made it so we could not ask for help.”
He gathers his thoughts, before his hand tightens, “Most of them would be kidnapped, but there would be Uchiha thrown in our compound missing their eyes, dead. The breaking point was the 'death' of Uchiha,” he takes a deep breathe, before steeling his emotions once more, “Shisui.”
“I will not talk anymore about the coup, but instead, focus on the bodies that return with no eyes.” He glares at Danzo, before smacking one black colored file, “I was able to retrieve this, alongside reports from shinobi out of the village in my ANBU missions, talking about how, an old man with bandages on his arms and face kidnapped children from other villages.”
He passes it. Danzo grits his teeth, before snarling, “You’re not allowed to enter our headquarters, and you shouldn’t have that.”
“Astute observation. Sai and Shin, helped me, along with Hatake Kakashi and Tenzo. Three of whom, are evidences to ROOT, with the cursed seal on their tongues.”
The three mentioned men walk out of the shadows, curling their tongue to show the imprinted seal. “I don’t give a damn, if the Uchiha did plan a coup d’etat, and I’m pissed that my brother was roped into killing his kin, but what I do not tolerate is the fact you have my clan members Sharingan in your arms and eye, and whatever else you did to the rest.”
He pushes a dark red file away, “That is for later, if you see to understand Itachi’s situation.”
He smiles menacingly, before flicking open a dark grey file, the uchiwa fan on the front, “I want permission to be given to investigate this case, and if it is proven, that if we remove the bandages, and that my clan’s dojutsu appears, that this will be investigated further.”
Tsunade opens her mouth to approve, when Hiashi Hyuuga lifts a brow and asks, “And why is that the Hyuugas not notice the apparent eyes.”
Sasuke resists the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose, choosing instead to breath deeply. “I don’t see why it matters, after all, if my claim was proven to be incorrect, then it will be dismissed.”
“It does matter to me, it shows that you see our eyes incapable of noticing it.”
“I did not mention anything about your clan’s involvement.”
Hiashi Hyuuga’s stern white eyes and the veins popping by his temple makes a terrifying image, but he must not have seen an Uchiha angry. His anger has been simmering underneath, and he has been keeping it in ever since Danzo’s act of innocence earlier.
“There are two laws in Konohagakure ; village and clan laws.” he seethes, “I am showing you a case, of a clan law being broken, and this is Uchiha matters, and only to the Uchiha.”
“Please do not intervene in my clan affairs Hyuuga-san, I have been giving you nothing but respect, recognition, and courtesy, and never have I mentioned about the branch family’s seal, do you not see?” he growls, Hiashi’s eyes widening at the pure anger in his tone.
Sasuke dismisses his silence, before turning, “I am a clan head, and before Fugaku’s passing, has been trained to be one. My parents have offered my brother to you as a weapon, and he has proven his loyalty. Be it as it may, my clan has betrayed the village’s trust, but the village has broken ours.”
“I will not let my clan be disregarded for all it’s contribution to this village, and I will not allow you to dig it under lies and corruption, for the village’s ‘protection’.”
He breathes out deeply, only standing because of Inoichi’s grounding palm, “I have lost everything in one night, I only have my brother, and I’m not letting you take him away from me.”
“I ask you this for the peace of my clan, to avenge them from where they were mistreated, to let them rest. I was unable to burn their bodies as I was in the hospital unstable, and that alone, is a responsibility given to me. It was a clan tradition, and Shimura used that time to pluck their eyes. It is my right and duty as clan head to make sure the eyes are not taken as this is disrespect for the hard work of my clan members. You need to learn to listen.” he says, his voice wavering, but firm.
Tsunade nods at him, “The village has been unfair to the Uchihas far too long, I promise you, I will do everything in my power, to restore it in it’s former glory. We will show the truth, but before that, Otter, Weasel, hold unto Danzo Shimura.
A pair of chakra cancelling handcuffs covers Danzo’s wrists, The Hokage just clicks her tongue at him, disgust etched in her features, the old man’s fear and hatred showing through widened eyes.
“Crow, Hound, pull at the bandages please.” Kakashi walks over to the arm, holding the end of the bandage, “Of course, Hokage-sama.”
Sasuke watches detached as the bandages pull free, multiple Sharingan eyes staring at him, making him stand blankly. He gasps, breathing heavy, before Shikaku helps him sit down, his hand clamping comfortingly on his shoulder.
“Fugaku and Mikoto would have been so proud of you for defending your clan. You made to be a good clan head, and you brought justice to your clan.” Shikaku comforts him, as he chokes on a cry, biting his lips as the tears well up. He doesn’t let them fall, instead, blinking repeatedly for it to disappear.
He will not let Danzo have the satisfaction of seeing him affected by his doings.
He listens as Tsunade orders the ANBU around, Shikaku squeezing his shoulder before walking nearer Inoichi, the files filed on his arms. The two alongside Ibiki corner stand beside the Hokage, discussing about the interrogation.
He lets himself slump on the chair, before Kakashi ruffles his hair, also moving away to include himself with the hurried murmurs of the four. The clan heads talk among themselves, but he would see one or two of them looking in his direction with acceptance, and respect.
Kiba throws an arm around his shoulders, “Holy shit, that was Sasuke Uchiha as a clan head.” He grumbles pushing Kiba’s loud mouth away from his ear, raising an eyebrow, “Do you not believe in me, Wolf?”
Kiba gives him a toothy grin, “’Course not, Captain.”
“You’re terrifying, good job.” Ino says, sitting down beside him. “You would have been such a good member to my Intelligence Team.”
“Troublesome, utterly troublesome.” Shikamaru mutters, draping himself over Sasuke’s shoulders, Kiba moving away on instinct. “And this is our captain, don’t take him, Ino.”
Ino raises two hands, before chuckling, “Shikamaru, I will never take your lover boy.”
Shikamaru smacks her, before huffing, hiding his face in Sasuke’s hair. He chuckles softly, before letting the Nara doze off for a few minutes, reminding himself to wake him up.
Ino stands to go to Hinata, to their other fellow graduates, the tight-knit group of Konoha called uh, Konoha 12. Kiba pats him on the arm, before standing from Shikaku’s seat, making him move Shikamaru down to the seat. He moves the Nara’s arms so that it pillows his head, smoothing down his ponytail before fixing his flak jacket.
Someone drops to the seat to his left, “You’re scary in clan meetings, pretty boy.”
He takes one look before huffing in amusement, giving a wry smile. “I suppose so.”
“You got some guts to stand up to the Hyuuga head.” Neji drawls, bored, but one look to his eyes shows his gratitude. “Owl, I’m your captain, and I think there’s times I can stand for people.”
“Thank you, Hawk.” he says, before standing, looking over his shoulder to smirk smugly, “Meet at Ichiraku Ramen with the group, bring your Nara boy with.”
He glowers at Neji, the Hyuuga already walking out the door behind the group, leaving him to wake up Shikamaru. He sees Tsunade and the others filtering out the room, making him shake the asleep teen.
“Such a drag.” Shikamaru yawns, movements sluggish. He sighs, before tugging at Shikamaru’s arms, so that the Nara doesn’t fall asleep on them again. “Stand up you lazy ass.”
Shikamaru looks at him with a drowsy eye, half-asleep. “Such a drag.” he repeats to Sasuke’s face, just to spite the man. Sasuke stares back with disinterest, “I won’t hesitate to throw you over my shoulder, Nara.”
“Do it then,” Shikamaru challenges, making him pout. He lifts a brow to warn Shikamaru, his barely awake brain unable to notice it before he’s thrown over his ANBU Captain’s shoulder, making him shriek.
He irritable crosses his arms, before saying in a deadpan, “Why are Uchiha so stubborn.”
Sasuke’s tongue peeks out, “You asked for it. And you already know I can carry you.” he says smugly, laughing when the Nara kicks a foot to his stomach.
Sasuke’s grip on his thighs tighten, “I’m not gonna let you fall y’know, but that doesn’t mean you can take a nap.” he snorts, “I’ll let you sleep while they’re talking, Naruto’s gonna be loud after his visit in Suna, he’s gonna babble about Gaara again.”
Shikamaru smiles, “Good thing I learned how to sleep in loud places, and you promise you’ll allow me to sleep? On your lap?”
“Sure,” he agrees, “You can sleep anywhere, Shika. I sometimes wonder how you’re a jonin and a ANBU.”
A pinch to his back makes him bark out a laugh, the sound startling the chuunin and jonin around the hallway, making him flush in embarrassment. “Sorry.” he says flushing, the shinobi barely concealing their amused and surprised faces, after hearing the deep laugh of the usually stoic Uchiha.
“You scared them,” Shikamaru laughs, making him retort, pinching Shikamaru’s ass, “I did not.”
Shikamaru kicks a foot out in surprised laughter, making Sasuke hold him tighter. “Nara, calm down.” he snickers between stuttering breaths, laughing quietly.
Sasuke smirks, patting the back of his knees, “Hold tight, you know how fast I can shunshin.” Shikamaru twists his fingers in Sasuke’s cloak, before being carried in intense speeds, feeling himself standing on wobbly knees, Sasuke’s amused face staring at him.
“I hate Shisui Uchiha, why did he teach you pointers when you were young.” he breathes out, making Sasuke smile.
“Come on, Deer.” He gets pulled in the shop, moving to on of the rented rooms, down to a long couch. He exhales in relief when his head drops to Sasuke’s thigh, his body sinking, and eyes drooping.
Sasuke gives a quiet chuckle, before whispering, “Sleep babe.”
Sasuke hums as he runs his fingers through his lover’s brunette locks, kissing his forehead. He lets his other hand intertwine with Shikamaru’s other hand, his own head falling on the back of the couch.
He lets his friends’ voices lull him to sleep, his intertwined hand resting on top of Shikamaru’s chest. His mouth slips to a smile when the memory of proving his clan came to mind, before his breath stops.
His eyes flick open, before he gasps. Otter was Shisui’s ANBU, and Weasel was his brother’s. An ANBU mask and animal is burned or thrown once they failed to pass it on, or if they died.
“Miss me twerp?”
Thought of clan head Sasuke after Danzo because of the stolen eyes. Loved the thought of him standing up to Hiashi about clan affairs. Included Sasuke and Shikamaru because I craved it. (I always do.) Wanted Itachi and Shisui alive. (Uchiha Quartet + Kakashi, is my life and soul. Misunderstood socially inept tall ass men that were all ANBU operatives.) And no, Shin did not die, I do not want anymore brothers getting separated.
