The first time you call Neuvillette your husband, even though you two aren't married

You were at a social banquet full of the upper class and government officials. Neuvillette had insisted you come with him, not wanting to go by himself as he has been for the last 400 years. Though he wanted to stay glued to your side for the entire night, as soon as you two walked into the room (hand and hand) he was immediately whisked away to converse with various officials. This left you to try to navigate the social networking alone. As the Iudex's lover you were expected to be polite and knowledgable, and personally you wanted to keep most of who you are out of the public eye. So you always brought the conversation topic to something having to do with Neuvillette.

A group of government officials of lesser importance and reporters had formed a semicircle around you, chatting away about the current state of affairs. When someone turned to you to ask for your opinion, you began to think back on what Neuvillette had said about the subject. "Well, my husband-" before you could finish that sentence, you felt a hand on your back and a presence to your right. You turn to see your lover next to you, with the giddiest smile one his face. He locks eyes with you for a moment, eyes full of vulnerability, searching yours. Swiftly, he joins the conversation, seamlessly bring back the flow and entertaining the group around you. The moment between you two was so brief that no one around you even noticed there was a moment. But to you and Neuvillette, the moment was an eternity where millions of words of love were exchanged.

Eventually the night came to an end, and Neuvillette held your hand once more and you began walking back to your shared home. Once you both were out of earshot of the guests he turned to you and almost whispered "Husband?" with a shy smile on his face. You giggled began to curl into yourself as much as you could (which wasn't much, you were standing and Neuvi had your hand). "Maybe..." you responded. "It just felt right.... it came naturally..." you continued. "Does it bother you?" you asked. "mmmm no not in the slightest, I quite like the idea of being seen as you your husband.... I like the idea of being your husband," He confessed. You held both his hands and with eyes as big as saucers you asked "Really?" He shuffled a little closer and said "definitely," before he leaned down to give you a soft kiss.
