Jimmy Stewart – wearing quite the chronograph – with Hedy Lamarr in a studio still from the movie “Come Live with Me,” released on January 29th 1941. Two months later Mr. Stewart was drafted and assigned to the Army Air Corps. On June 10 of that same year, Ms. Lamarr submitted a patent for “Radio Frequency Hopping” a system upon which all modern communication is based.

The first novel did not gain a wide readership. However, this did not disappoint him he continued writing feverishly. Writing was part of him. In the early 1930s, he published another book “To a God Unknown” (Coers 67). In this book, he clearly showed his religion and the way he was brought up. His third book was “The Red Pony”. It addressed the events that John witnessed as a boy. The book shows his familiarity with his geography and culture in Salinas, California. The Red Pony opened up an avenue. He later wrote, “Tortilla Flat” in 1935 that was a vehicle to his commercial success. “Tortilla Flat” was adapted as a film by HedyLamarr and Spencer Tracy. After four years, he wrote “The Grapes of Wrath”. The novel dealt with issues of Agriculture and the rising number of migrant workers in California. This novel made him win the 1962 Nobel Prize. “The Grapes of Wrath” resulted to the development of controversial issues in connection with the immigrants (Coers 43). In 1943, Carol and John divorced. John later married Gwedolyn. In the same year, John was hired by Herald Tribune in New York to report on the issues concerning the war that was happening in Europe (Coers 21). John reported the events of the war to his wife. He told her the way the soldiers engaged themselves in the war and the way some of them died. His letters and the reactions of the war were edited and published under the title, “Once there was a war”. In 1942, after the events of World War II John published “The Moon is down” a book that gained a wide readership. Over time, the book has been translated into over 18 languages. The book showed how foreigners invented third world countries. The foreigners aimed at getting their territories and putting them under slavery. In the book, he shows how the leader talked about coal mining in order to take away the people’s freedom. John later died in 1968 and left a great history as he Read the full article
