Tom Siebert received a BS in journalism from the University of Illinois and has worked as a staff writer and copyeditor for newspapers in California, Florida, and Illinois. Tom reported general news, interviewed entertainment figures, and covered elected office holders––including four presidents and a pope. He also profiled human suffering in the form of a homeless man dying of AIDS, a college cheerleader battling Hodgkin's disease, and a senior couple living the long goodbye of Alzheimer's. He continues to write on news and social media about community events, movies, and concerts. Tom Siebert's articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Daily Breeze, Daily Southtown, Aurora Beacon-News, Elgin Courier-News, Boca Raton News, Naperville Sun, Kane County Chronicle, Kendall County Now, Reflejos, Santa Monica Outlook, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and The Voice––as well as on Blogger, Facebook, LinkedIn, LiveJournal, Reddit, Threads, Tumblr, WordPress, X, and many Patch community news sites. In addition, Tom worked as a copyeditor and proofreader for Tyndale House, a Christian publisher based in the Chicago suburbs. He is presently a freelance editor of Christian publications. Tom Siebert also served as assistant director for community relations for Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) of Kendall County, Illinois. And he has served on the leadership teams for Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step ministry, at Harvest New Beginnings church in Oswego as well as at Trinity Nazarene and The Compass churches, both in Naperville.
