“Chole, what about this one?” I glanced at the one Rick had pointed out and shrugged. It was Thursday and we had gotten an early start to go ring shopping but I just couldn’t bring myself to be excited. Vinny hadn’t messaged me at all but I hadn’t been brave enough to reach out either.

“Its nice.” I mumbled. We had been to three different shops at this point, and I hadn’t had a solid opinion about a single one of the hundreds of rings we had looked at. I could tell Rick was getting annoyed and I felt horrible.

“We’ll be right back.” I heard him say before he grabbed my arm and hauled me out of the store. He pulled us down the street and into a café where he ordered a couple of drinks and took us to a table in the back out of the way of prying eyes. “Ok, spill. What’s going on with you?”

“Nothing Rick. I’m fine.” I lied, keeping my eyes to the floor. I flinched as I felt his glare land on me. Even though we were the only ones in the shop at the moment I felt like there were a thousand eyes digging daggers into my skin.

“Bullshit. You haven’t been fine since you and Vinny got in that fight.” I twisted my hands together and felt warm ones take them in his. “Chole. Look at me.” I obeyed, looking up at his grey eyes and seeing only kindness in them. This was not the Richard I was use to but it was a welcomed change. I needed someone besides Heather to talk to, someone who knew Vinny better than I did and in that moment all the last slivers of hatred I had for the man in front of me slipped away.

“I love him, Rick. I don’t know when it happened, but it did and I fucked it up.” I whispered. “He hates me now and I probably have no chance of getting him to forgive me.” The thought of losing Vinny terrified me because despite our fighting over the last two months he had become my rock. He was the person I could rely on while Heather was out of town. I just needed that stupid drummer to hug me right now with one of his tight all-consuming hugs.

“I know for a fact that he doesn’t hate you. I think you two just need to sit down and talk. He loves you too but he can be a little thick some times.” I let out a soft giggle.

“Why are you being so nice to me?” I asked. “I treated you horribly. You didn’t deserve it. I-I’m so sorry.”

“No. You don’t get to apologize. I started this with that damn lie. This is not your fault. I gave you every reason to hate me so yeah, you were right. You do have a right to be hurt. I just hope I can make it all up to you somehow.” I pulled my hands out of his and wiped the tears from my face. I felt ridiculous crying in front of Rick but for the first time I could tell he wasn’t going to use it against me. “You know I feel like we should have been friends from the get-go.” He grinned teasingly.

“Better late than never right?” I smirked.

“For sure. Hi, I’m Rick Olson. I’m a major asshole to the people I like and no one is immune to my abuse. I’m in love with your best friend and I want to marry her so I hope we can get along better.” He held out his hand and I let out a laugh as I took it in mine.

“Hi Rick. I’m Nichole. I’m very protective of my friend so you better not hurt her or I will make sure you are never heard from again. Funny enough I’m also in love with your best friend but he and I aren’t speaking currently so we’ll see if anything comes of that. I would like to be your friend as well.” The barista called Ricks name to signal our drinks were done so we went and picked them up. “Thank you for the drink Rick. Now should we get back to ring shopping?”

“Are you sure you are up for it?” He raised an eyebrow in my direction.

“Yes, but you are doing it all wrong. She doesn’t want some corporate thousands of dollars ring. Come with me.” I took his hand in mine and weaved through the back roads of Scranton until I found this ring shop Heather and I had visited on numerous occasions.

“This is a fantasy costuming shop.”

“Thank you Captain Obvious. She’s not a fan of the stereotypical rings people use for engagement. She’ll want something unique.” I pulled him into the shop and over to the ring counter where I pointed out a few. The attendant was off in the corner working on a different piece of jewelry, but I could tell he was watching us. “In her words ‘these look like they were carved out of the trunk of Yggdrasil and lost for centuries before being found by a wizard and enchanted with magic.’” I giggled.

“She’s so dramatic.” He said with a soft smile on his face. “What would I even go with though?” I scanned over the rings before letting out a soft gasp and waving to the gentleman.

“Sir can we switch out stones in these rings?” I asked him.

“I can see what I can do for you. What are we thinking?”

“That ring. But the stone the color of his eyes.” I said pointing to Rick. He looked startled and gave me an incredulous look.

“She always said your eyes were her favorite color. She’ll like the jester.” I shrugged as the man took the ring out of the case and went to the back. I turned to fully face him and he shook his head.

“My eyes are grey. They’re boring.” He mumbled.

“Not according to her. She says they are the bluish-grey color of the waves crashing over the beach on a stormy day.” I watched as his expression went from confused to shock and a blush coated his cheeks.

“That’s sweet.” We waited for a few more minutes until the man returned with a blue velvet box. As he approached the counter, he opened it to show the ring and Rick’s jaw dropped. “Its perfect. She’ll love it.”

“I told you.” I whispered in his ear. He shouldered me playfully and paid for the ring without a second thought. Once he was done he wrapped an arm around my shoulder and we walked out of the shop.

“Now just to fix you and Vinny’s relationship.” He teased me. I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arm around his waist.

“No. Just leave it. What’s done is done.” I shook my head.

“Never say that. I messed up before but I’m not giving up on this now.”

“How dare you drag that poor girl into your idiocy Vincenzo! She has been through enough.” Rosa scolded, slamming the pan down on the stove and rounding on her son.

“I know mum! I know I’m an idiot! You don’t have to tell me that. Even Ricky called me that last night.” Vincenzo groaned. He was currently at his mom’s place for their weekly family dinner, and she was giving him an ear full yet again.

“You aren’t just an idiot Vincenzo! You fucked up and you lied to me! You didn’t trust me enough to be honest with me about your feelings and lied to my face! You concocted an entire scheme and forced her to take part in it. I don’t know how she even dealt with the holidays knowing it was fake and with her family background. Did you even think how this would affect her?”

“It stopped being fake when we slept together on Christmas.” Vinny mumbled with a guilty expression. That made his mother freeze and cock her head and for the second time this week he saw that raised eyebrow that made him shudder.

“You slept together on Christmas? Is that how you two ended up upstairs?” Vinny blushed and refused to answer, becoming very interested in a hang nail on his finger. “Vincenzo.” She said lowly.

“She said I love you that night. I didn’t say it back and for a bit I thought we were ok, but Rick came back and said something… I don’t even know what was said but- its over and she’s never going to forgive me.” His mothers angry look melted into one of frustration and she sighed.

“I will help you but you only get one chance, do you hear me? But if you mess this up again then that’s it, Vincenzo! I will not forgive you again.” Vinny nodded rapidly and instantly regretted it. His mother grabbed his ear and started dragging him to the kitchen.

“Ow, ow, ow! Mom!”

“Everybody front and center! We are having a family meeting.” Rosa called. She shoved her son down in the arm chair as his father and siblings walked into the room with very confused looks on their faces.

“Mum? Vinny? What’s going on?” Adriana asked.

“You will apologize to all of them Vinny. Now.” She barked in her scary mom voice, glaring down at the drummer. Vinny felt like he was two inches tall in that moment, one wrong step and he would be squashed like a bug.

“Rosa what’s going on?” John asked.

“I lied, dad.” Vinny whispered. “I lied to all of you. Well, most of you. Kyle knew.”

“So Kyle lied to me too?” Rosa snapped, glaring at her older son who now looked terrified and held up his hands.

“He threatened me!”

“I did not!” Vinny yelled, glaring at Kyle. “Bastard!”

“Boys! Kyle, we will deal with you in a moment. Vincenzo, I don’t hear an apology coming out of your mouth.” The drummer sighed, fighting back a retort.

“I lied to you guys about my relationship with Nichole to get out of mom setting me up with a random chick. She wasn’t my girlfriend officially until Christmas eve, though that only lasted two weeks before I fucked it up. She’s pissed at me and I’m not ever going to get her back. But I’m sorry. I’m sorry I lied to you all.” Adriana immediately melted and pulled Vinny to his feet and into a hug.

“You love her don’t you?” She mumbled. He nodded into her shoulder and fought the tears threatening to fall.

“That was really stupid son.” John scolded him when he separated from his sister’s hug. His dad had always been the easy going parent so he wasn’t scared of his wrath but he had always been close to his father so he hated disappointing him.

“Trust me, mom won’t let me forget it for a very long time.” He huffed.

“Neither will Nichole. But at least you realized how dumb you are. I guess I forgive you for lying to us.” Kyle smirked, clapping a hand on the drummer’s shoulder.

“Shut up asshole!” Vinny shoved him off and scuffled with him a bit, giant smiles on their faces.

“So, how are we going to fix this?” Rosa spoke up. Vin’s eyes went wide and he looked at his mother in awe. After everything she was still willing to help him and he did not deserve her kindness right now. He pulled her into a hug, making her laugh and hug him back.

“Thank you so much mom.”

“Yeah yeah, just don’t do it again.” /

The Road to Parenthood

♡ A month after their risky Valentine's Rendezvous, Betty ends up sick with a ‘stomach bug’ that causes her to throw up after every meal for two days.

♡ It got so bad that they skipped their weekly lunch date at Captain Tasty’s. Betty had to throw up the minute they walked in and the smell wafted into her face.

♡ Simon has to convince her to let him take her to the hospital. Even when they first get there, she tries to run away from him in the parking lot. Simon caught her before she could fall from exhaustion.

♡ Betty’s doctor treated her for anemia and sent her home with pills that would help her keep down food. They also took blood and urine samples just to be on the safe side and would call her with the results within a week.

♡ When they do call Betty, they deliver her the news: she’s around eight weeks pregnant.

♡ The minute she found out, she called Simon into the bathroom to tell him

♡ “Really? You're not kidding? You’re serious right now??”

“Serious as a heart attack, Simon. You put a baby in me. . .”

♡ Sure, this wasn’t exactly how either of them pictured their lives going. Both of them were always just so caught up in their research and each other that they never really talked about kids. Maybe once or twice over the last four years that they had been together? Of course, they’d be lying if they said they hadn’t thought about having children with each other before. And both found that they wouldn’t mind at all.

♡ They both were so ecstatic that Simon picked Betty up and spun her around.

♡ When she’s 10 weeks, in the middle of their first ultra-sound appointment, Simon asks Betty to marry him; a little pressured by the presence of their future child. And while Betty knows she wants to marry Simon eventually, she recognizes that he’s doing it for the wrong reasons. After some talking, they decide to put their wedding on the back burner. They were already stressed about starting a family and they didn’t need the added stress of planning a wedding on top of that.

♡ Betty immediately connects her with OBGYN, Dr. Olson.

♡ She was on doctors to stop taking her anti-depressants until the end of her pregnancy, as they could cause side effects and complications for the baby’s development. Betty took an alternative in the meantime, but she experienced mood swings early in her pregnancy as a result.

♡ When she felt well enough to eat normally again, she started craving french fries and strawberry chocolate-chip ice cream.

♡ When she’s around 13 weeks, Betty and Simon start discussing names for their baby.

♡ Simon goes first. For a boy, he picks ‘Henry,’ ‘Silas,’ and ‘John.” For a girl, he likes ‘Grace,’ ‘Heather,’ and ‘Penelope.’

♡ For a boy, Betty likes ‘Tobias’ or ‘Toby’ for short, ‘Casper,’ and ‘Theodore.’ For a girl, she picks ‘Alice’ after her mother, ‘Juniper,’ and ‘Willow.’

♡ Neither of them had a preference for the sex of their baby. They wanted it to be a surprise. Betty didn’t care as long as they were healthy, and that they existed in the first place. Simon agreed with her. Although, whenever he pictured their baby, he saw a boy.

♡ At 16 weeks, their baby starts kicking. Betty immediately calls Simon over to her to put his hand on her bump. They spend the whole day just sitting around their apartment fussing over her stomach, trying to get the baby to move again.

♡ “I felt that. Was that the baby?”

“No, Simon. It was just my bowel movements. Of course, it’s the baby, you dumdum!”

♡ They sing ‘Everything in You’ to her belly whenever it’s kicking and Betty needs them to calm down.

♡ At 20 weeks, it was getting harder for Betty to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. And the fact that the baby was kicking her almost constantly didn’t help, either. She started sleeping with a pillow between her legs.

♡ Having Simon’s hand on her bump helped calm the baby down so Betty could sleep.

♡ One night, she woke up in pain. At first, she thought maybe it was just something she ate. She had been trying out weird combinations of food to satisfy her cravings. But when she sat up in bed to go to the bathroom, she shook Simon awake in panic.

♡ “Simon? Simon, wake up.”

“Betty? What’s wrong, princess? Are you okay?”

“I’m. . .I’m bleeding. . .”

♡ Sorry for the upcoming angst, guys. It's gonna get worse before it gets better. Writing about my favorite characters going through terrible shit is how I cope, okay??? I won't leave you hanging for long, though. I'll post the next part soon

Cues him still trying to make the best of it after her funeral no matter how he is depressed for being there for their baby who will hatch soon and trying to reason his father-in-law, with whom he always had a bad relationship, over how this id not the egg's fault and his daughter would want him to be a good grandfather to it, he who is way too angry and grieving to think righr and blames him for having made her gravid despite her being of such fragile health from birth

My first ever Blazing Dragons fic and nsfw fic with a not very good English and cringe descriptions lmao takes place during the episode Ice Try which is the only episode during which Sir Blaze and Sir Burnevere don't appear because they were gone on a quest together, so I filled the blank by having them act upon their lounging growing feelings for each other now they finally are alone together on a dumb quest Queen Griddle sent them to for her own ego as usual and act on it at least, quite passionately so and then decide to be secretly dating

Make Mama Happy - Chapter 1

Not too many updates to this chapter but will be more as it goes.

“Nichole!” My best friend Heather called. I had just walked into the restaurant where we were going to meet up and was looking around for her. I internally groaned when I finally spotted her, seeing her boyfriend, Richard, next to her. He was the guitarist from the band Motionless in White and he and I had a complicated relationship. We both loved Heather so we tolerated each other for her sake but when we were alone it was as if world war 3 had started. There was nothing in the world that could make us put aside our differences that I was pretty sure we didn’t even know what they were. I plastered a fake grin on my face and walked over to the table where she was waiting. When I approached it, she stood up and hugged me tightly before returning to her seat.

“Richard.” I nodded. He gave me his fake smile and returned the gestor. “How have you been? How’s the band?”

“They’re fine. We go on tour next month, so we are all prepping for that. Speaking of which Heather. Vinny’s having a get together tomorrow night before we buckle down and really dive into the tour preparations. Would you like to go?” He asked, turning to his girlfriend.

“Oh that would be amazing. Nichole you should come.” My best friend said, turning to me.

“No way. I don’t get involved with the band stuff.” The waitress came over and took my order before disappearing again.

“Oh come on! It would be so fun. I bet you and Vinny would get along great.” I rolled my eyes at my best friend's antics and shook my head. She had been trying to hook me and the drummer up for years.

“Doubtful. Vinny has standards.” Ricky muttered, making me scowl at him.

“Richard!” Heather swatted his chest. “Please! I want someone there that’s a girl I actually like.”

“Fine. Fine. I will come to this stupid party. But you are helping me get ready and giving me a ride. I haven’t been to his house before.” She clapped happily and started gushing about her newest project at work. She was a biologist and while she was excited about her job it may have been the one thing Richard and I could agree on as we made disgusted faces.

“Baby, we are trying to eat. Maybe you could save the work talk for later.” Rick asked, giving her an unsure glance.

“I can’t believe I am saying this but thank you Olson.” I snickered. He shot me a smirk and for a moment, I could see why Heather liked him.

“Sorry! What about you Nichole? How has your job been?”

“I work at a winery. It's not that exciting.” I shrugged.

“You were more interested in writing when we were in school. Please tell me you haven’t given up on being a writer.” I forgot that she had always been the one to encourage my passion and smiled. It had been a while since I had worked on one of my stories so I barely remembered them.

“It's been a minute since I had the time.”

“Well Rick is a writer too! You should have him read over it and help you out.” My eyes flicked to the guitarist to see him glaring at me.

“Maybe.” We finished up our food and Heather insisted that she would be with me the next day so that she could help me get ready, much to the frustration of her annoying boy toy. I flipped him off when her back was turned, determined to prove him wrong.

“Evening ladies. Ready?” Ricky asked when I opened the door. Heather was right behind me in her outfit, a simple crop top and low waisted skinny jeans. “You look amazing baby girl.” I rolled my eyes at his sickeningly sweet tone and shoved past him, bumping my shoulder against his and knocking him a few steps backwards.

“Yeah yeah, you can fawn over her later. Lets just go. I wanna see Aj.” Aj was one of the techs that toured with them a few years back and I had met him on a few outings where he and Rick were hanging out and I was tagging along with Heather. The guitarist rolled his eyes and nodded, opening the door for his girlfriend and all of us taking off to the drummer's house.

“I think you’ll love Vinny. He is super sweet and loves everyone. I don’t think he’s capable of hating someone.” My best friend gushed. I kept my mouth shut in the back seat as I glared daggers at the driver in the front, Ricky watching me too with an equally hateful stare. Knowing the fact that Vinny was Rickys best friend I doubted that he would like me in any capacity.

“Guess we’ll just see.” I muttered quietly. The rest of the drive was silent and I couldn’t get out of the car fast enough when we pulled up to the house. I left my friend and her boyfriend in the dust, determined to find the crazy tech that I adored. Luckily Aj was lounging on the couch in the living room. “Aaj.” I exclaimed, throwing myself into his lap.

“Nichole? What are you doing here?” He laughed, wrapping his arms around me to make sure I didn’t fall off.

“Heather invited me.” I giggled. We sat there talking for a bit longer as more people trickled in. Some of them I recognized from videos of the band and others I didn’t so it was really awkward.

“That’s Logan, you’ve seen pics of him. He’s the front of house manager.” Aj tried to give me names for everyone that showed up but even he didn’t know some of them. “Lets go get a drink. I’m parched.” He stood up from the couch and led me through the congregation of people to the kitchen where he grabbed a sprite for me out of the fridge.

“Thank you, Aj.” I said, cracking it open and taking a sip.

“Have you met Vinny yet?” My friend asked, pointing to a man in the living room with shoulder length wavey hair with red streaks in the front. He was wearing black cargo pants and a baggy dark green shirt that had no logo on it. While I normally wouldn’t go for guys like that (that looked like total frat boys) he made it look hot as fuck.

“No, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of the band. I typically avoid them. Well, besides Rick obviously. But I could do without knowing him.” I joked. Aj knew me long enough to know about the standing feud between me and the guitarist and he smirked.

“We could all go without knowing Rick. But seriously he’s actually pretty chill once you get to know him.” I gave him a glance of disbelief.

“I’ve known him for a few years. He’s still just as fucking annoying.” I rolled my eyes.

“Come on. Let me introduce you to the man of the house.” He took me over to the red headed angel and waved at him. “Vin! I want you to meet Nichole.” Vinny turned to me and I got drawn into his gorgeous hazel eyes.

“Nichole! Hi. Who did you come with?” He asked, holding out his hand. I shook it and was bemused by his strong grip. Next to him was a tall, well dressed, curly haired man who looked like he had a mop on the top of his head.

“I came with Heather.” I nodded over to my friend who was currently wrapped in her boyfriend's arms.

“Oh.” He said that one syllable so sharply and I froze. “You’re that Nichole. Rick told me about you.” His voice was so cold compared to the soft friendly one he had a few minutes ago.

“Chole, what does he mean?” Aj asked, looking between the two of us. The entire room seemed to quiet down and everyone's eyes focused on us.

“I think I should go.” I whispered.

“Yeah, you probably should. We don’t like your type around here?” Vinny growled.

“My type?” What the hell had Ricky said about me?

“You know, the type to flirt with their supposed best friend's boyfriend behind their back?” My eyes widened in horror and I rounded on Richard where he was standing with Heather. She looked confused, hurt, and angry.

“Heather- I never-“

“Don't.” She mumbled. “I don't know what’s going on right now but you should probably leave.” Aj grabbed my arm and held me for a moment.

“Heather, you know she wouldn't do that.” He tried defending me.

“I don't know what to think! Why the hell would Ricky lie to Vinny of all people?” She sputtered. “Just leave. I’ll call you later.” I calmly set my can down on the nearby table and turned to Aj.

“Just let it go. I don't want to put up with this shit right now.” I pushed past everyone to exit the house only turning back once to look at Rick. “Fuck you, Richard Olson.” I spit, before finally leaving. Once outside I let my emotions explode and found myself gasping for air as I made my way to the main street to call an uber. I just needed to get away from that house.

A few texts came through from Aj but I ignored them as I collapsed onto my couch. I curled under a blanket and buried my face into the pillow. I never thought Heather would trust her boyfriend over me like that and it hurt like a knife through the gut.
